:00:44. > :00:47.Two, if you weren't watching on one we are leave at Court Number One to

:00:48. > :00:52.see Andy Murray play his second round match up against Blaz Rola, of

:00:53. > :00:57.Slovenia. Murray making his way from the locker room. He will come out on

:00:58. > :01:34.to court. Not a full house but he will get a great ovation.

:01:35. > :01:42.well I am court side with hen hen and John Lloyd -- hen. I don't think

:01:43. > :01:46.Andy realised what he did last year, I think he realises it more now with

:01:47. > :01:50.the appreciate, that people are showing. Yes, we were on Centre

:01:51. > :01:53.Court on the first Monday when he came on as defending champion as

:01:54. > :01:57.tradition say, and to get the standing ovation there was an

:01:58. > :02:02.amazing atmosphere, think when he walks out and gets these type of

:02:03. > :02:06.ovations, I think it really makes him appreciate the support he has,

:02:07. > :02:10.and it is great for him to be out on Court One, for these fans to get the

:02:11. > :02:14.opportunity, a lot of the big players play on Centre Court. But to

:02:15. > :02:19.have him on the schedule is is a bonus. It's a sunny day, there is no

:02:20. > :02:23.roof so he will get his match on Court One early on. I think the

:02:24. > :02:26.players would like to play on Centre Court, because it's the best in the

:02:27. > :02:30.world. Having said that, the big advantage is the roof. If you are on

:02:31. > :02:35.the schedule you guarantee play If they play on Court One, they want to

:02:36. > :02:41.be playing on a good, nice sunny day so there won't be any interruptions

:02:42. > :02:50.and fingers crossed he can have no interruption and come out on top.

:02:51. > :02:55.So they are changing sides, so not sure who won the toss there, but we

:02:56. > :02:59.will find out in just a moment, but it is interesting when you lock at

:03:00. > :03:03.the weather though, it could rain on Friday, which would be the next day

:03:04. > :03:06.this half of the draw will be in action, so whoever is scheduled for

:03:07. > :03:15.Court One on Friday is not going to be that happy. No, well. You look at

:03:16. > :03:22.the he dual, there can only be three matches on Centre Court and only two

:03:23. > :03:27.are mens, one womens. There are great courts but only one has a

:03:28. > :03:32.roof. For now. Work in progress on Court One, but it is an advantage

:03:33. > :03:37.of, for the players to play their matches on centre if they guarantee

:03:38. > :03:40.completing their matches. Where it comes into its own is over the

:03:41. > :03:43.weekend. If you are playing on Saturday you guarantee to finish

:03:44. > :03:48.your match. If you are on an outside court and you don't play on suspend,

:03:49. > :03:52.that is when it can gets my, but fingers crossed we have had good

:03:53. > :03:53.weather. When I was chatting to Andy, he said after

:03:54. > :03:57.weather. When I was chatting to Andy, he said Wimbledon it went by

:03:58. > :04:01.in a blur. He can't remember much about the day. He then went on

:04:02. > :04:05.holiday, had to unwind and regroup in some way, so he said he didn t

:04:06. > :04:10.realise what the reaction was back here, what was the reaction, you

:04:11. > :04:13.live in America, what was the reaction to Murray winning over

:04:14. > :04:17.there? It was huge. He has been popular in America because they love

:04:18. > :04:21.the brand of tennis he plays, they like the variety and people I talked

:04:22. > :04:27.to were pulling for him, and first one at Wimbledon, it was a big thing

:04:28. > :04:30.there, and he became across over star in the States by winning and he

:04:31. > :04:34.deserved that. It was a big reaction there. Absolutely, and also,

:04:35. > :04:39.sometimes you don't enjoyment when grow away and you don't hear what

:04:40. > :04:44.everyone is saying about you, so I don't think he realised. The

:04:45. > :04:48.magnitude, it was probably too big to take in. He talked about how in

:04:49. > :04:53.the weeks and months after winning the title he came back as the a

:04:54. > :04:58.member of the club and he sometimes trains here, to come back when there

:04:59. > :05:02.weren't 40,000 people here and to be able to sit on Centre Court and

:05:03. > :05:08.savour the scene, it has been an amazing 12 months for him. You know

:05:09. > :05:12.him well as a personality, he doesn't embrace the adulation that

:05:13. > :05:16.comes with it. He is shy. Absolutely, you know, he has never

:05:17. > :05:19.been one for, you know attracting attention grey the court, you know,

:05:20. > :05:23.he is not, he is not really interested in the fame that goes

:05:24. > :05:27.with being a top player, he wants to be out there and achieve in the

:05:28. > :05:32.biggest and best results, that is what he has done in the last few

:05:33. > :05:38.year, hopefully that can continue. We were talking about playing a

:05:39. > :05:41.lefty but he likes it. He has a great record against lefties, their

:05:42. > :05:47.strength goes into his on the back of the two handed backhand. He loves

:05:48. > :05:51.playing left-handers. There was a good point from Tracey, playing

:05:52. > :05:55.against Jamie his brother, he is a lefty and I mean he returns

:05:56. > :05:58.everyone's serve very well. But having had a lot of practise against

:05:59. > :06:04.Jamie, he does return the left handed serve very well. What a

:06:05. > :06:07.difference in the stats there. It is only one Grand Slam Championship,

:06:08. > :06:11.because he has been locked in the qualifying. It is only this yore he

:06:12. > :06:15.has broken into the top 100. That is who he beat in the opening round. We

:06:16. > :06:20.don't know much about him. We were asking who is Blaz Rola. Let us find

:06:21. > :06:24.out frut the man who knows him very well, James Ward who has beaten him

:06:25. > :06:28.twice this summer. He is talking to Gary. What can you tell us about his

:06:29. > :06:33.point? I have played him a couple of times in the last three or four

:06:34. > :06:37.weeks. Lefty, big serve, I think a few more errors come off his

:06:38. > :06:42.forehand side, which I have told Andy about yesterday, so I am sure

:06:43. > :06:47.he will be all right. What questions did Andy ask you? I spoke to Danny,

:06:48. > :06:52.gave me a, asked me what my opinion was in theless couple of matches. I

:06:53. > :06:56.won both, so it's a bit more helpful and better advice. The fact he a

:06:57. > :07:01.left-hander, what difference does that make when you have Andy's

:07:02. > :07:05.ability? Not much, obviously, but on the grass it is always tough on the

:07:06. > :07:11.side when he swings wide, you have to get the ball back in to play He

:07:12. > :07:14.said if I was to win, to beat Murray it would be a major upset and it

:07:15. > :07:19.really would. You can't see it happening? No, I don't think it is

:07:20. > :07:20.going to happen today. Obviously Andy plays great at this tournament,

:07:21. > :07:26.going to happen today. Obviously Andy plays great at and he is going

:07:27. > :07:32.to find it a tough day. Thank you. SUE BARKER: James is confident.

:07:33. > :07:37.Amelie and Danny are confident. As far as Andy is concerned, tactically

:07:38. > :07:44.he is the master and he is on court. He sets the tactics doesn't he? He

:07:45. > :07:49.adjusted to a new point. He will see a couple of points but not much but

:07:50. > :07:53.he has listened. He will adapt. If he needs to do something that is

:07:54. > :07:57.unexpected he will adapt and change his game plan. He is brilliant at

:07:58. > :08:01.doing that, finding a plan to go up against it, he is one of the best at

:08:02. > :08:05.that. He has so many shot, so many choices. Very much so, there is

:08:06. > :08:08.always important top understand bit about your point, but it is

:08:09. > :08:13.important when you have the weapons of Andy to concentrate on your own

:08:14. > :08:17.game, and needs to go out, continue, he had a good high percentage of

:08:18. > :08:20.serves in the first match. He looked to dominate from baseline. If he

:08:21. > :08:25.does that I am sure he will be all right. On paper it doesn't lock a

:08:26. > :08:29.tough match. He still has to win it. He has to start well. He has to

:08:30. > :08:33.start well. Best of five, he has plenty of time. I would be surprised

:08:34. > :08:40.if he loses a set today, if he dote there is no panic, he will still win

:08:41. > :08:44.this match. You make us feel calm. We better head out of the way before

:08:45. > :08:54.we get hit by some of these serves. So they are about ready to get under

:08:55. > :08:58.way, John you are aon commentary duty. Blaz Rola spoke in excited

:08:59. > :09:04.terms about the prospect of stepping out on Centre Court to play Andy

:09:05. > :09:08.Murray. It is not far short of that, it is, it a glorious arena, Court

:09:09. > :09:15.Number One and a lot of people are saying who is Blaz Rola, and what

:09:16. > :09:20.can he offer? He has to be careful Andy Murray, he will be, he will

:09:21. > :09:25.give it his full attention. I know Blaz Rola was beaten by James Ward,

:09:26. > :09:32.then at Queens where we covered that one, on the BBC, but that was his

:09:33. > :09:41.first experience of grass. He is warming to the surface, a very

:09:42. > :09:45.comfortable first round victory Gave Spain's Andujar a straight

:09:46. > :09:52.thrashing. Far more comfortle on clay, but he has some weaponry, Blaz

:09:53. > :09:59.Rola, as well as John Lloyd's favourite name.

:10:00. > :10:07.He has looked up to Andy Murray and followed his progress.

:10:08. > :10:09.He decided to give that a go himself. Lasted about a week. Didn't

:10:10. > :10:23.fancy it. Now he gets a chance. A slim chance

:10:24. > :10:28.perhaps but a chance to, to down the defending champion. Shefrs to get us

:10:29. > :11:30.underway. -- he serves. .

:11:31. > :11:34.Just looking to settle yourself into the match, in front of the biggest

:11:35. > :11:55.crowd you have ever played in front of.

:11:56. > :12:01.Ooking to settle yourself into the match, in front of the biggest crowd

:12:02. > :12:55.you have ever played in front of. A little bit jittery.

:12:56. > :13:07.A thing of beauty. Blaz Rola through everything at Murray. Can't get

:13:08. > :13:13.through the defences and slightly short, it wasn't really short, it

:13:14. > :13:18.was a decent forehand but that backhand just nailsiate for a

:13:19. > :13:19.winner. What a shot. Immediately two break points.

:13:20. > :13:47.-- nails Straight way Murray takes the

:13:48. > :13:51.initiative. Poor old Rola. You can't just settle yourself in against a

:13:52. > :13:57.player like Murray, you have to start chasing the shots He served a

:13:58. > :14:00.double fault at 15 love, then 1 -15 he missed a bad forehand. The other

:14:01. > :14:10.points after that Murray took over, but right away there, he is coming

:14:11. > :14:14.back, you don't, he is thinking you know, he has to be so consistent.

:14:15. > :16:28."How do I find a weakness here? Second serve easily dealt with by

:16:29. > :16:33.Rola. Quite simply it is one of the

:16:34. > :16:36.tactics from Rola. Every time Murray misses his first serve, he is

:16:37. > :16:38.determined to go off the Murray second serve, that is his best

:16:39. > :17:07.chance to get ahead in the rally. Murray knew he wassy there, he came

:17:08. > :17:13.in the net well. Caught his point off guard there, but not a good

:17:14. > :17:32.backhand volley. Miss hit that, Rola should have put that one away.

:17:33. > :17:33.Well. Caught his A warm welcome to the first days of

:17:34. > :18:55.the match. Murray happy to get that opening

:18:56. > :18:59.service out of the way. A few encouraging signs for Rola. Big

:19:00. > :19:04.forehand but once again Andy Murray showing how good he is at soaking up

:19:05. > :19:10.the pressure. Some big forehand gets his racquet to it somehow an

:19:11. > :19:40.gets the ball back deep enough to put his point back under pressure.

:19:41. > :19:52.Almost inevitably, the players are coming up with names for him. "Holi"

:19:53. > :19:58.is one. "Bay city is the best so far."

:19:59. > :20:07.-- holy. If you are of a younger generation you won't know who the

:20:08. > :20:23.Bay City Rollers are. You are very fortunate!

:20:24. > :20:26.When he starts to get some confidence Rola, he could offer some

:20:27. > :21:55.real opposition. Intark so Rola is on the score board

:21:56. > :21:58.but Murray leads by two games to one with that break of serve. Let us

:21:59. > :22:02.check on what is happening elsewhere. A as a result to bring

:22:03. > :22:08.you from Court Eight that Jamie Murray and his partner the 14th seed

:22:09. > :22:13.have defeated two Brits Dan Evans and James Ward.

:22:14. > :22:23.Murray and Peers through to the second round.

:22:24. > :22:34.And a comfortable victory forly that of China. The -- Li Na of China She

:22:35. > :22:38.won her match out on Court No. Two against Yvonne Meusburger and she

:22:39. > :22:51.will face Vesnina or striction. When we were last with Venus

:22:52. > :22:55.Williams she had taken the opening set. She raced through the second

:22:56. > :23:00.set. Maybe the injury had something do with that, but the shortest

:23:01. > :23:03.player in the top 100, Nara, is out of the tournament. It is Venus

:23:04. > :23:06.Williams the five times champion who is through.

:23:07. > :23:14.Back we go to Court One. Beautifully done, moving Murray

:23:15. > :23:39.round nicely. Murray a bit troubled by the sun

:23:40. > :24:19.here in this service game. Every little chance has to be taken

:24:20. > :25:15.by Rola. Again he has some touches. . I

:25:16. > :25:20.suspect she growing a bit in confidence. I would say so,

:25:21. > :25:27.certainly, we have seen some big forehands, very confident. There was

:25:28. > :25:31.the backhand taking over the rally. Full repertoire of shots coming

:25:32. > :25:54.From Rola. Sew an opportunity for Blaz Rola to

:25:55. > :26:17.get That is how you deal with these

:26:18. > :26:18.points, the points of pressure that separate the very best from the

:26:19. > :26:29.rest. Thats is his favourite serve. He can

:26:30. > :26:31.hit the one down the middle a lot better, but that is his

:26:32. > :27:12.bread-and-butter serve, big points. Briefly worried.

:27:13. > :27:17.It is not quite such an intimidating players' box without Lendl there.

:27:18. > :27:26.You look at the players' box of Novak Djokovic, it is terrifying.

:27:27. > :27:38.Lendl really did good old menace. Rola serving. Break down.

:27:39. > :27:46.You heard the explanation from Rola himself.

:27:47. > :27:51.-- exia macing. It is because he is coming into volley against Murray.

:27:52. > :27:55.He knows he has to make it absolutely perfect otherwise it will

:27:56. > :28:11.come back at him, so he just tries a bit too hard with it.

:28:12. > :28:18.A Cumbria of loose ones and Murray suddenly heading towards the double

:28:19. > :28:45.break. -- couple of loose ones.

:28:46. > :29:18.That's good. And the shot before that really deserved that finish.

:29:19. > :29:23.The whole rally was fantastic from both players. Thought Murray won it,

:29:24. > :29:26.the most delicate crosscourt forehand. I thought this was a

:29:27. > :29:31.winner. Look that the half-volley from Rola. He managed to squeeze

:29:32. > :29:37.that lob past him right on the linement that was a superb point for

:29:38. > :29:55.both players there. Excellent stuff. Two break points.

:29:56. > :30:08.There it is. Double break for Andy Murray. Cruising along all systems

:30:09. > :30:12.go. Locking good against Blaz Rola. SUE BARKER: All going Murray's way

:30:13. > :30:17.at the moment. Let us take you Ron and show you what is happening

:30:18. > :30:25.elsewhere. It is good news on Court Two, where Britain's wild card Tara

:30:26. > :30:37.Moore is 3-1 in the third and final set. Tara Moore has a break of serve

:30:38. > :30:44.and stop that match is live on the red button.

:30:45. > :30:51.And on court 12, Sergiy Stakhovsky, he is the man who put out Roger

:30:52. > :30:58.Federer last year, he leads to set to love against Ernests Gulbis. That

:30:59. > :31:03.is also on the red button. Back we go to court one.

:31:04. > :31:11.No danger of a sluggish start for Andy Murray. He is looking

:31:12. > :31:16.impressive from the word go. It seems a bit rare for him to be out

:31:17. > :31:24.on Court one but this time last year he had a match against a Chinese

:31:25. > :31:28.Taipei player which he got through in straight sets. They do like to

:31:29. > :33:15.farm them out on to farm them out onto gets to see.

:33:16. > :33:25.for Andy Murray, closing in on this first set. We talk about in the

:33:26. > :33:30.early rounds, the biggest players trying not to expend too much energy

:33:31. > :33:33.getting through the matches. Andy Murray was talking towards the end

:33:34. > :33:39.of the French Open, he did feel that his endurance was not quite what it

:33:40. > :34:06.was at his very fittest after his back operation.

:34:07. > :34:14.But I couple of monster matches at Roland Garros would not have helped.

:34:15. > :34:18.Can take a couple of matches to play yourself in if you want to win as

:34:19. > :35:14.easily as possible and save your energy for the second week.

:35:15. > :35:22.Rola to handle. Shots that you do not face in college. You hit a shot

:35:23. > :35:26.like that, the most you would expect is you would have a decent shot to

:35:27. > :35:28.hit a winner on the next ball, instead it comes right at you after

:35:29. > :37:28.you have hit a very good shot. And again, you think you have the

:37:29. > :37:32.point. Blaz Rola is just not used to the sort of shots coming back at

:37:33. > :39:03.him. He is not really prepared for it. He did not expect it.

:39:04. > :39:40.And that will do for Andy Murray. Emphatic in the straight.

:39:41. > :40:02.He started like a train against David Goffin in his first-round

:40:03. > :40:07.match and he has done so again here. David Goffin came back into it. You

:40:08. > :40:12.could see Blaz Rola doing that Bert Andy Murray has the answer to all

:40:13. > :40:19.the shots that Rola can offer. He has not got the balance right. He is

:40:20. > :40:23.trying. He has hit some big winners but 13 errors. It is difficult when

:40:24. > :40:28.he is coming up against somebody like Andy Murray. He has to go out

:40:29. > :40:32.of his comfort zone and try and hit the ball little bit harder. It is

:40:33. > :40:36.the only way he has a chance of creating some errors and then

:40:37. > :40:45.obviously you're going to create some mistakes. You can see beyond

:40:46. > :40:52.forced errors. 13 against two. Murray has been stingy with the

:40:53. > :40:54.errors. He has had 50% first serves. We have seen the forehands. There is

:40:55. > :41:45.some pace on both sides. APPLAUSE

:41:46. > :43:44.That was the longest rally of the match.

:43:45. > :43:49.He was just checking. It is a bit lonely out there. -- the wind is

:43:50. > :44:31.blowing. Only the second fault of Andy

:44:32. > :44:54.Murray's tournament. Come on, Andy! That is his favourite serve into the

:44:55. > :44:54.left-hand court. But it is going to his opponent's favourite shop,

:44:55. > :45:28.beforehand. -- shot. He should have whacked the other one

:45:29. > :46:18.as well and hit two winners. It is unfortunate for Rola. A big

:46:19. > :46:43.point has well. So Murray holds against this second

:46:44. > :46:51.set up and running. -- and gets this second set up and running. We can

:46:52. > :46:54.see where he has been putting the ball in on his forehand in

:46:55. > :46:55.particular. We have seen some impressive groundstrokes from

:46:56. > :47:14.Murray. I cannot work out if this is an

:47:15. > :47:20.interactive graphic or these are all the balls which have fallen out of

:47:21. > :48:25.Andy Murray's shorts! Was it last year that it happened a few times?

:48:26. > :48:32.There is no hiding place out there on the big stage against the very

:48:33. > :48:45.best. The unforced errors are creeping up.

:48:46. > :49:27.There has been a mixture of some big winners and unforced errors.

:49:28. > :49:32.He just forced the issue. That is the problem. That is what you do

:49:33. > :50:16.against someone like Andy Murray. That will do. A break at the start

:50:17. > :51:00.of this second set. All going to plan at the moment for

:51:01. > :52:04.Murray. Dear remembered the good old days,

:52:05. > :52:10.he used to do that almost every shot? It is still an awesome weapon

:52:11. > :52:59.but now it is much more selective. It looks pretty good if you are an

:53:00. > :53:05.Andy Murray fan. There was one lone Blaz Rola fan in here, but he has

:53:06. > :53:10.been quiet of late. Out here, most of them, get ready to wave, most of

:53:11. > :53:22.them are supporting Andy Murray It is still Henman Hill, mind you.

:53:23. > :53:34.A grand place to watch, certainly with weather like this. Judy Murray

:53:35. > :53:39.is there. She is sitting with weather like this. Judy Murray

:53:40. > :53:45.away from the rest of the Murray camp. In the cheap seats! She is on

:53:46. > :53:52.the other side of the court, actually. There is Amelie Mauresmo,

:53:53. > :53:58.a long-time friend of Andy Murray and Matt Little. James Green is

:53:59. > :54:09.wearing the white cap. And there is the physio. A big old entourage No

:54:10. > :54:57.seat for Judy, completely full. Sorry, mum.

:54:58. > :55:04.SUE BARKER:, we are leaving this match on BBC Two. It continues on

:55:05. > :55:09.BBC One. So if you want to carry on watching, switch over now. Venus

:55:10. > :55:24.Williams is through in straight sets.

:55:25. > :55:32.And a straight sets victory for the number two seed, Li Na of China She

:55:33. > :55:48.was up against Yvonne Meusburger on Court two.

:55:49. > :55:55.Three Britons in action out on court eight today. Jamie Murray and his

:55:56. > :56:01.Australian partner John Peers came through against Dan Evans and Dan

:56:02. > :56:08.Ward. A busy day for the Murray family.

:56:09. > :56:16.And Sergiy Stakhovsky has pulled off another big shot here with his big

:56:17. > :56:25.volley game. He has put out Ernests Gulbis.

:56:26. > :56:35.He must love playing here. So, we are going to take you now to

:56:36. > :56:45.show you Young Tara Moore of Great Britain, a wild card in the draw, up

:56:46. > :56:49.against the -- Vera Zvonareva. This match was stopped at one set all

:56:50. > :56:54.last night and we are going to join it in the third set with Tara Moore

:56:55. > :56:57.a break of serve up, leading three games to two. Our commentators are

:56:58. > :58:45.Sam Smith and Guy McRae. shot from Zvonareva. Just those last

:58:46. > :58:51.couple of balls, it is tricky for her. She can be wild with the

:58:52. > :58:55.tennis. She has still got to go after it. She has got to tread that

:58:56. > :59:18.very fine line. Zvonareva is stepping things up

:59:19. > :59:42.here. Zvonareva was a great player, still thinks like a great player.

:59:43. > :59:46.back hands, it is about feeling the match, and sensing, you know, when

:59:47. > :59:50.to push and when to be steady, that is all the decisions she has to make

:59:51. > :00:13.now. shots but so much is about

:00:14. > :00:18.intensity, you know Zvonareva can bring that competitiveness, and

:00:19. > :00:36.drive, can Moore do it consistently here?

:00:37. > :00:47.The reaction that, Moore saves the break point.

:00:48. > :00:53.The very nice job there of finding the space, but for me, what was

:00:54. > :00:57.important, just read the match and made good decisions under pressure.

:00:58. > :01:01.Still a lot more decisions to make out here, but, so far, so good in

:01:02. > :02:00.this final set. Just seems to be the case, that when

:02:01. > :02:04.you, at the moment with the way it is on the back of the court, when

:02:05. > :02:09.you try to change direction, this doesn't seem to be the traction at

:02:10. > :02:10.the moment. Just odd little patches. The courts are playing beautifully

:02:11. > :02:36.though, this year. Zvonareva has made over 30 errors in

:02:37. > :02:40.this match. I guarantee you about 80% of them have come off that

:02:41. > :02:43.forehand, we have seen her falling off it. She folded the racquet over.

:02:44. > :03:20.This is huge for Moore. That is tremendous strength, right

:03:21. > :03:30.at the the end of her range. No one has ever doubted her ability. Maybe

:03:31. > :05:10.except herself. Break points again for Moore.

:05:11. > :05:15.Super safe play from Zvonareva. Trying to get as much action as she

:05:16. > :06:03.can on that backhand wing. So well done. She saves break points

:06:04. > :06:17.to stay in touch. Can't feel that Tara Moore did an

:06:18. > :06:20.awful long wrong there, that was ant Zvonareva knuckling down, and in

:06:21. > :06:26.many ways just bringing in her margins so much, she was plying --

:06:27. > :06:36.playing and centrally and keeping away from the lines.

:06:37. > :06:44.This would without doubt, if she could finish it off, there is still

:06:45. > :06:49.work to do, plenty of do. Easily the biggest win of her young career for

:06:50. > :06:52.all that Zvonareva is just returning really trying to make her way back

:06:53. > :06:58.from serious injury, still, this would be a massive result. No doubt

:06:59. > :07:04.about that. Maybe 5-2 wouldn't have been a good idea. That is what

:07:05. > :07:06.happened in the first set, so it was all rather seat of her pants there

:07:07. > :07:27.for a while: -- while. Still ahead by a single break. Tara

:07:28. > :07:46.Moore. 4-3 final set. Same area, nearest to the commentary

:07:47. > :08:16.position, the previous two slip have occurred at the other end.

:08:17. > :08:23.Well, from one, from someone that was one of the best doubles players

:08:24. > :08:26.in the world, that shows you how insecure she was. She laid her

:08:27. > :08:29.racket back, she didn't punch through it exactly and she knows

:08:30. > :08:42.that, that is how she is feeling out there. She is just not the player

:08:43. > :08:47.she was at the moment. Moore might have to make a slight

:08:48. > :08:52.tactical adjustment. I have to say the last game or so Zvonareva is

:08:53. > :08:55.making more forehands, so maybe she needs to break up that strategy a

:08:56. > :10:08.little. Zvonareva hasn't got it together

:10:09. > :10:22.quite as often as she would like. It must be so frustrating when you

:10:23. > :10:41.are used to it, to be able to produce it.

:10:42. > :10:52.It is unlikely that the review system will reprieve her.

:10:53. > :11:02.Tara Moore, just a game away now. That was a very good hold. Really

:11:03. > :11:07.switched up the play, sensed the match, just needs to keep the dren

:11:08. > :11:12.Lynn levels now, not get too carried away.

:11:13. > :11:46.-- the adrenaline levels. Zvonareva serving to

:11:47. > :11:53.I have a feeling when Zvonareva had the shoulder surge I have she wasn't

:11:54. > :11:57.under any illusion to come back but, I am not sure even she imagined

:11:58. > :12:29.it was going to be this hard. This is really tough on her.

:12:30. > :12:34.A littles he's tapes there from Moore. Zvonareva was right on the

:12:35. > :12:39.stretch and it was ripe for the close. Just coming in, ghosting in

:12:40. > :12:42.behind it. She would have had a volley into an open court but

:12:43. > :13:20.nothing is simple when you are trying to win a match at Wimbledon.

:13:21. > :13:30.Scurrying round the court. Zvonareva played time and time. -- time and

:13:31. > :13:35.time again. Getting maximum reward for it.

:13:36. > :13:42.Up Zvonareva has one challenge remaining.

:13:43. > :14:30.Have to admire the pluck, the effort from Zvonareva. She digs herself out

:14:31. > :14:34.there, two points from defeat. Forces Moore to serve this one out.

:14:35. > :14:42.Intark we are not sitting here falling off our chairs in surprise

:14:43. > :14:46.that Zvonareva found something She knows that has been her most solid

:14:47. > :14:52.shot. That is really how Moore uses this

:14:53. > :14:55.time, she will decide whether she is going to be happy in five minutes

:14:56. > :15:01.time or rather more miserable, in ten minutes time. I wonder how the

:15:02. > :15:08.experiences of last year, losing that tight match where she was

:15:09. > :15:14.superb, played a wonderful match. Canopy was too good at the end -

:15:15. > :15:20.Kanepi. It's a tight third serve match. She has opportunities up

:15:21. > :15:23.against a very good player. It is a similar scenario, Wimbledon, grass

:15:24. > :15:31.courts. We will see if she can draw on that. Lost 7-5 to the stonian 12

:15:32. > :15:32.months ago. Is go itting to be a very different outcome this time for

:15:33. > :15:50.the British wild card. Two and a quarter hours played here

:15:51. > :15:55.in all. It resumed today, finishing late last night. We might have

:15:56. > :15:57.reached the very end of it. Tara Moore will hope so, serving for the

:15:58. > :16:25.match. 5-4 deciding set. If she wanted to put a sign up to

:16:26. > :16:30.Vera Zvonareva saying I am very nervous, 74mph first serve was about

:16:31. > :17:14.as clear a sign as you could give your point.

:17:15. > :18:44.What a disappointment that is for Tara Moore. Zvonareva a steely look

:18:45. > :18:50.on the face of the Russian. She works her way back to parity in

:18:51. > :18:55.this deciding set. Two points from defeat, remembering that previous

:18:56. > :18:56.game, managed to pull through. This first round match right in the

:18:57. > :20:03.balance once again. It is funny different pressures are

:20:04. > :20:07.on both players. Moore just has to understand that

:20:08. > :20:47.you absolutely have to go at these great players, they are not going to

:20:48. > :20:49.give it to you. She has certainly broken serve

:20:50. > :20:58.plenty of times in this contest With three break point opportunities

:20:59. > :21:23.here. It is Moore who breaks once again

:21:24. > :21:28.and she will have the opportunity to serve this one out, in a few moments

:21:29. > :21:33.time. The British wild card, 6- final set now.

:21:34. > :21:46.She has been given a reprieve there, because when she served for it at

:21:47. > :21:49.5-4 she got it wrong. He knows that. Multiple Grand Slam finalist, they

:21:50. > :21:55.don't give you these matches, you have to push, you have to push them

:21:56. > :21:59.out of the draw and you have to place them, you have you don't have

:22:00. > :22:03.to play lights out tennis but you have to play well. You are going to

:22:04. > :22:07.have to hit winners and keep the pressure on. She did the opposite

:22:08. > :22:22.when she was serving for the match. We will see if she learned.

:22:23. > :22:29.Tara Moore is the world 250. She had the opportunity to serve this out,

:22:30. > :22:35.couldn't take it, now she has a second chance against the formula

:22:36. > :22:36.finalist of four years ago, the former world number two. Vera

:22:37. > :23:41.Zvonareva. She sees the funny side of that

:23:42. > :23:46.Out here she has had to rely on her serving and that backhand, she has

:23:47. > :24:09.so much control, so much left hand she uses.

:24:10. > :24:11.These games can get away from you so quickly, can't they? It has done so

:24:12. > :25:39.again here. And the same thing has happened

:25:40. > :25:43.again sadly, for Tara Moore. The French umpire just confirming that

:25:44. > :25:46.the players get their full allocation of challenges. Once again

:25:47. > :26:43.we go on. No tie-break, final set. Weapon you are playing a fosmer top

:26:44. > :26:49.player and you fail to serve out twice, you have led 5-3, and just

:26:50. > :26:51.had squeeze it through, you start to think this girl dent think she can

:26:52. > :27:21.win this match. When we talked about the opportunity

:27:22. > :27:26.for Moore, you come down to question of belief. That is what you are

:27:27. > :27:53.getting to. Does she believe she can do this? This is time for Moore to

:27:54. > :27:56.start playing positively out here. There was that great point

:27:57. > :28:01.construction she had early on in the set. Used the forehand, where has

:28:02. > :28:05.that gone? They don't give this to you. They have to take it. That is

:28:06. > :28:25.the mantra she has to have in the front of her mind at the moment

:28:26. > :28:47.You can write the script here to be honest with you. You really can

:28:48. > :28:49.What are you writing? When you serve for it twice, you don't close it out

:28:50. > :28:57.and you don't close it out. for it twice, you don't close it out

:28:58. > :29:00.tennis, she just backed off, she wasn't

:29:01. > :29:03.tennis, she just backed off, she playing the sort of tennis she was

:29:04. > :29:07.at the start of the set or how she was through the second set, and she

:29:08. > :29:12.showed a lot of, a lot of self-doubt.

:29:13. > :29:17.It will be quite something if she emerges the winner in this match

:29:18. > :29:24.now. It really will. It is a very hard job.

:29:25. > :29:30.It would be interesting to see how Tara Moore goes. About to serve to

:29:31. > :29:35.stay in the match, having served for it on two occasions. Vera Zvonareva

:29:36. > :29:39.three down in this decider. Showing is all her fighting

:29:40. > :30:02.qualities. She is now potentially just four points away.

:30:03. > :30:16.This wasn't easy, needed a lot of control. She does the difficult

:30:17. > :30:19.stuff really well. She looks a better player when she is looking

:30:20. > :30:41.for that forehappened. That is what I like to see from her in this game.

:30:42. > :30:46.Some confusion there. It was originally out but it was overruled.

:30:47. > :31:31.That is why. It was worth the try but it was a

:31:32. > :31:33.long shot. There was no way that point should have been replayed and

:31:34. > :32:28.it is not, thank goodness. It is not easy to close out a match,

:32:29. > :32:33.but it is not easy to close out a match when you are a British player,

:32:34. > :32:34.especially when there is a big name at the end of the court, and it

:32:35. > :35:06.showed. Just conferring there, checking it

:35:07. > :35:10.was wide. Still much rather she would go after they shot like that

:35:11. > :35:13.rather than allow Zvonareva to push her around and take the point. She

:35:14. > :35:58.has got to be the boss out here A very strong play from Zvonareva.

:35:59. > :36:03.You can see patches of when it is good and when the game holds

:36:04. > :36:08.together, especially when she impresses with the serve out here,

:36:09. > :36:11.and it has held up the whole match. That is good going after that

:36:12. > :36:22.surgery that she had on her shoulder. Zvonareva to close out

:36:23. > :36:41.that game. Zvonareva did all her rehabilitation

:36:42. > :36:45.for that surgery in Arizona, where all the top American football

:36:46. > :36:51.players go, basketball players, or when goes to this particular place.

:36:52. > :36:54.Maria Sharapova spent a long time there and often goes back for a

:36:55. > :37:01.check up visits anytime the shoulder is not feeling too good. At least

:37:02. > :37:07.she has gone to the best place, but the recovery from shoulder surgery

:37:08. > :37:13.for most player, the outcomes tend not to be that's good. Most players

:37:14. > :37:18.who have had shoulder surgery, it is difficult for them to come back

:37:19. > :37:31.Maria Sharapova is one of the few that have returned from it. Steadily

:37:32. > :37:37.filling up here on this court. They are hoping for a good outcome. Just

:37:38. > :38:29.needs another positive gain here, keep building pressure.

:38:30. > :39:23.Serve for it twice. Moore is now two points from the feet. -- defeat

:39:24. > :39:31.Another excellent bit of defence from Moore, who was on the back foot

:39:32. > :39:37.for so much of that exchange. Just a great hustle. When you are eight

:39:38. > :39:40.down in a deciding set, that is what you have to do, just it out, keep in

:39:41. > :40:07.the match. Control on that return from

:40:08. > :40:11.Zvonareva. Is it going to be a case of so near but yet so far for Tara

:40:12. > :41:15.Moore? Match point for the Russian. Extremely clever choice of shot

:41:16. > :41:18.there from Zvonareva. Back behind the run to bring back a second match

:41:19. > :41:48.point. On the brink so many times. She

:41:49. > :41:53.survives, but you can't help but think this is one that really got

:41:54. > :42:01.away from Tara Moore. As it is, it is Zvonareva who comes through in

:42:02. > :42:07.the end. 9-7 in the decider, to make rounds to you in this year's

:42:08. > :42:12.Championships. A great dig out from Zvonareva, but Tara Moore played

:42:13. > :42:19.such a good tennis in this match. One disastrous mistake, and that was

:42:20. > :42:24.when she served at 5-3 and waited for Zvonareva to give it to her and

:42:25. > :42:28.she did not take it, and that is a real shame, because she is good

:42:29. > :42:34.enough to be in the second round. This is how it was finished off two

:42:35. > :42:38.hours and 43 minutes of gripping tennis, but it is Zvonareva who goes

:42:39. > :42:47.through. Heartbreaking for Tara Moore. Second year she has lost She

:42:48. > :42:55.is out, but let's hear what she had to say after the match.

:42:56. > :42:58.Commiserations. What is the overriding emotion at the moment?

:42:59. > :43:06.Disappointment at the moment. I d gave all ahead and fought really

:43:07. > :43:13.hard. I was very nervous. You showed lots of ability and aggression

:43:14. > :43:16.against a top opponent. She is a good player and she played well

:43:17. > :43:22.today in the tough moments and she gave a little bit too much out there

:43:23. > :43:30.for me. The defeat is hard to take, at least the fist pumps have earned

:43:31. > :43:38.the money for a good cause. It has been really good. I've tried to

:43:39. > :43:46.fight as hard as she did out there. You most certainly dead.

:43:47. > :43:53.Commiserations. And well said. Andy Murray was on court for just one

:43:54. > :44:00.hour and -- you most certainly did. Andy Murray was on court for under

:44:01. > :44:05.two hours. Another awesome performance that will no doubt

:44:06. > :44:13.please his new coach and certainly pleased the crowd. Let's hear what

:44:14. > :44:18.he thought of that. Congratulations. No disrespect, but that looked a

:44:19. > :44:26.fairly easy win for you. Yes. I ve played well today. This is the first

:44:27. > :44:31.year he has played on grass before. He had just come out of college and

:44:32. > :44:38.has broken into the top 100, so it was tough for him to stop he does

:44:39. > :44:42.not have much -- for him. He does not have much experience on the

:44:43. > :44:48.grass. He has a good game but I had to concentrate and take care of my

:44:49. > :44:52.serve for the majority of the match. In these advance, how much does it

:44:53. > :44:58.help to have a match where you do not expend too much energy? It

:44:59. > :45:03.helps. It cost me a little bit at the French Open. Not that I would

:45:04. > :45:10.have won in the semifinals even if I've felt perfect. I've played a lot

:45:11. > :45:21.of matches their and a lot of the sets I was a had -- I was ahead If

:45:22. > :45:26.you can finish matches as quickly as possible, it helps in the long run.

:45:27. > :45:35.What do you think your new coach will think of to date's performance

:45:36. > :45:39.Mr Mark -- performance? We will have a chat and rest up and get ready for

:45:40. > :45:52.the next match. Well done. This is what is happening over on

:45:53. > :46:00.Centre Court. The champion of Queen's seeded 11, up against Luke

:46:01. > :46:07.Saville. Dimitrov leads. You can watch it live over on BBC One.

:46:08. > :46:16.Tennis on the red button as well. Leonardo Mayer up against Marcos

:46:17. > :46:22.Baghdatis. Baghdatis was a runner up at the Australian and he is a break

:46:23. > :46:26.up in the second set, having trouble the first set, but it is not looking

:46:27. > :46:28.good for me are out there, and that is on the red button. The -- for

:46:29. > :46:45.Meyer. A quarterfinalist here for the past

:46:46. > :46:56.two years, David Ferrer. Let's join our commentators.

:46:57. > :47:05.Some wonderful forehand, giving the number seven seed what looks like a

:47:06. > :47:32.tough work-out early on here. First time they have met.

:47:33. > :48:09.quarterfinalist in the last two Wimbledon Championships.

:48:10. > :48:18.He has made an encouraging start. He won the juniors here back in 20 9,

:48:19. > :48:23.so he knows his way around a grass court. He is trying to develop his

:48:24. > :48:25.games over the last couple of seasons and has developed reasonable

:48:26. > :48:44.weaponry. He is going to have to play really

:48:45. > :48:52.good on a surface like this. Nice and flexed, moving forwards to the

:48:53. > :49:06.second volley. Rate grass tennis. -- great grass tennis.

:49:07. > :49:19.Just wide. Break point for Ferrer. He knows he has to take that shot on

:49:20. > :49:32.and bring the ball back into a safe area off the court.

:49:33. > :49:41.The first sign of weakness. That started promisingly, but it is ten

:49:42. > :49:45.three macro who gets the early rate. -- Ferrer who gets the early break.

:49:46. > :49:52.Gone are the days when he did not really fancy Wimbledon. That has

:49:53. > :50:00.been over a period of over two decades. If you think of his career,

:50:01. > :50:07.he started to do really good on hard courts, US. Open, before making the

:50:08. > :50:13.final of the French Open. Everybody thinks they are brought up solely on

:50:14. > :50:23.play over in Spain, but they are not. He played a fair bit on clay.

:50:24. > :50:28.The two go hand in hand. As these grass courts have slowed down and

:50:29. > :50:32.the ball bounces a little higher, these guys have realised that there

:50:33. > :50:38.is no reason why they can't go deep into the second week. A fantastic

:50:39. > :50:46.match with Andy Murray previously, incredible shotmaking. They can go

:50:47. > :50:51.very deep. The pace of the court is very similar. It is the footwork

:50:52. > :50:56.that is different. The courts are a little greener. We have had some

:50:57. > :51:01.pretty decent weather coming into the tournament, so we are already

:51:02. > :51:06.three days in, but you can see there is some wear and tear on the

:51:07. > :51:11.baseline, and it is looking for and there is more confidence in the

:51:12. > :51:32.movements, which helps layers like Ferrer. -- players.

:51:33. > :51:38.That is so important on a natural surface like this. There is no time

:51:39. > :52:15.for the server to return. A little stumble their, and it looks

:52:16. > :52:21.like he could have a bit of a problem there. It was nasty. He had

:52:22. > :52:28.his full weight on that knee and was not expecting that little slip. He

:52:29. > :52:35.is carrying on. That did not look good. Just a little wide of that

:52:36. > :52:51.white patch, a little green of the court.

:52:52. > :52:55.That was a poor mess, because you want to test that need there, as

:52:56. > :53:18.well. -- that knee. He is not thinking about his knee

:53:19. > :53:53.now! Digging himself a really hard time. -- giving himself.

:53:54. > :54:03.He won the point, but you can see, he is struggling on the surface

:54:04. > :54:10.That is why that was a very intelligent shot from Kuznetsov

:54:11. > :54:14.Suddenly you start to lose confidence in your ability to move

:54:15. > :54:35.confidently. Beautifully directed. He has got

:54:36. > :54:41.talent, of course he has talent His physicality is the essence of his

:54:42. > :54:46.game. The footwork here. Nobody else would think about hitting a forehand

:54:47. > :54:52.from that heart of the courts, and then he brushes up the back of the

:54:53. > :55:09.ball, incredible work with the rest. Superb tennis.

:55:10. > :55:19.He looks down at his knee again He looks to be moving well those last

:55:20. > :55:23.couple of points. What a crucial hold that was. A lot of players

:55:24. > :55:27.would have gotten frustrated with the conditions and worried about

:55:28. > :56:10.what happened in that game, but not Ferrer. A lovely day.

:56:11. > :56:25.really improved, the quality of his return of serve, though he does

:56:26. > :56:32.favour the backhand return. A sensible serve. He was forced to

:56:33. > :56:33.replied defensively and then you can dictate with the first shot of the

:56:34. > :57:03.rally. Two good shots under pressure. I'd

:57:04. > :57:08.don't think he ever plays the scoreboard. When you watch impact

:57:09. > :57:15.is, that is the attitude that he brings to the -- when you watch him

:57:16. > :57:16.practice, that is the attitude that he brings to the practice

:57:17. > :57:29.practice, that is the attitude that he brings to court as well.

:57:30. > :57:42.Lovely. He has got that kind of talent. Incredible feel him that

:57:43. > :57:46.final lob. Kuznetsov made the mistake of just moving to his left

:57:47. > :58:13.instead of being on balance and could not respond.

:58:14. > :58:19.Seeing Ferrer struggling with his knee and his third work, I have

:58:20. > :58:28.never seen him injured, looking back, and his record is endorsed by

:58:29. > :58:39.that. His 47th successive Grand Slam. Third place on the ATB tour

:58:40. > :58:47.since the open year began. Fitness is a pure requisite for the

:58:48. > :58:52.consistency and the kind of play that he produces, and he has to work

:58:53. > :58:58.so hard to get relatively easy wins. I'd think he is one of these players

:58:59. > :59:04.that we are not going to see playing at the age of 35 or 36, because it

:59:05. > :59:08.is difficult to churn out the miles that he puts on those legs on a

:59:09. > :59:13.yearly basis, but he did say that one difference he can feel is that

:59:14. > :59:19.it is tougher to recover Thomas so he feels he has not lost --

:59:20. > :59:22.recover, so he feels he has speed and can match up with the best in

:59:23. > :59:24.the business come up but he wakes up to the next day and has to work that

:59:25. > :00:02.much harder for the next match. This is good tennis, I like that

:00:03. > :00:06.tactic of going to the forehand He is one of those players who likes to

:00:07. > :00:12.camp out slightly to the left of the baseline. To cover that I can't If

:00:13. > :00:26.you can attack that forehand, it does work well. -- backhand. Quick

:00:27. > :00:38.motion. Very difficult to read. Very tough to get the lead on that.

:00:39. > :00:45.In Spain, they are taught to use that serve most of the time when

:00:46. > :00:48.serving to the right of the court. He might not necessarily get the

:00:49. > :00:51.cheap point but that will open up the court for the first ground

:00:52. > :00:56.stroke of the rally and get the opponent moving.

:00:57. > :01:07.Well played! That was out of nowhere. He is a danger with that

:01:08. > :01:38.forehand. If he gets time to set that up, he can hurt you.

:01:39. > :01:46.No one was getting that back. The ball was shorter up that single

:01:47. > :01:48.sideline. Earlier in the grass court tournament 's, everything just

:01:49. > :02:10.shoots off. -- tournaments. That was a tricky shot. Great

:02:11. > :02:16.defence. If you can get that ball low and relatively soft, coming into

:02:17. > :02:18.the volley, it is difficult because you must do something with it to get

:02:19. > :02:36.some pace on it. That is the variation. Leaning to

:02:37. > :02:44.the right, looking for the slice serve to the right and suddenly

:02:45. > :02:46.Ferrer can drop the hammer. I thought he was going to challenge

:02:47. > :03:06.that, but no. The forehand again. It is becoming

:03:07. > :03:11.his features shot in this match When he combines his pace and

:03:12. > :03:15.death, it is almost impossible to defend against. Lovely combination

:03:16. > :03:19.of shots, opening up the court beautifully. He took advantage of

:03:20. > :03:29.all of that real estate with his second shot.

:03:30. > :03:48.Ferrer as the umpire. He said, I don't know! -- he asked the umpire.

:03:49. > :04:03.He was hustling him! Good tactic! Nice tactics on his serve. Playing

:04:04. > :04:07.against somebody who takes big cuts at the ball. You can handcuff them.

:04:08. > :04:39.It is very difficult. Yes, it had better be good with the

:04:40. > :04:43.forehand. As soon as Kuznetsov could get onto the ball, it was going to

:04:44. > :04:47.go across the court. Recently could not sustain that rally. -- he

:04:48. > :05:12.simply. And there is a surprise. Irritation

:05:13. > :05:32.from Ferrer, and you can understand. Break point.

:05:33. > :05:42.Quite excellent play from Kuznetsov. Not just on his forehand. He is

:05:43. > :05:47.proving aerial threat with superb returns, nice and state. And he

:05:48. > :05:50.realised he must keep his rallies nice and short so he can take the

:05:51. > :05:58.risk with his backhand, perfect tactics. Don't get involved in

:05:59. > :05:59.baseline rallies with Ferrer. First strike tennis and hope that you are

:06:00. > :06:19.on form. If you look at his season, there

:06:20. > :06:27.have been some good players, Blaz Rola, who played earlier, some very

:06:28. > :06:36.good players, Sergiy Stakhovsky it has been consistency that has been

:06:37. > :06:39.the problem. As a junior, he was consistent so he has tried to

:06:40. > :06:45.develop his game and take more risks to have the ability to beat those

:06:46. > :06:52.higher ranked opponents but it is more difficult to do that regularly.

:06:53. > :07:02.He has not beaten a top ten player. If he was to do something here, that

:07:03. > :07:10.would be the biggest win of his career, that is for sure.

:07:11. > :07:20.He is a very long way from winning this. But he has got the tools to

:07:21. > :07:24.make this a very interesting match. Ferrer will be well aware of that.

:07:25. > :07:35.Some really good stuff from Kuznetsov.

:07:36. > :07:42.His serve did half of the job and his forehand just mopped up.

:07:43. > :07:54.He must be very content sitting down. You mentioned the fact that he

:07:55. > :08:01.won the boys title five years ago. Better on grass. This year, it has

:08:02. > :08:09.been a problem. He lost to dust and Brian. He qualified at Eastbourne.

:08:10. > :08:17.Lost in the first round. This is really good. He beat Alan Evans in

:08:18. > :08:24.the opening round here. That type of shot could be a threat to anyone.

:08:25. > :08:28.What I like about his attitude and the bigger picture is he is prepared

:08:29. > :08:32.to make changes to his overall game plan and hope that he is going to

:08:33. > :08:37.improve from being a very good junior so that by the time he hits

:08:38. > :08:40.his mid-20s, it is important to think about what is effective at any

:08:41. > :08:46.given time when playing matches But also, what type of player will you

:08:47. > :08:50.be in five years time? And you can see that he is starting to be more

:08:51. > :08:56.effective with each season he can put under his belt.

:08:57. > :09:03.So, Ferrer, he was one break up and he is now serving to stay in this

:09:04. > :09:28.set. Just good enough. That forehand

:09:29. > :09:34.Really intelligent shot from Ferrer. Not trying for the winner, just

:09:35. > :09:55.getting as much spin as possible to forge Kuznetsov to head that volley.

:09:56. > :10:04.-- to force Kuznetsov to hit that volley. This is a tactic that Rafa

:10:05. > :10:10.Nadal users on grass. On the clay court, he goes to the body, same

:10:11. > :10:31.with Ferrer. His opponent cannot take that shot.

:10:32. > :10:40.Oh, yes! I thought that backhand from Ferrer was the winner. Great

:10:41. > :10:45.stretch from Kuznetsov. Superb tennis. Humiliate wept that

:10:46. > :10:49.backhand, following the ball intelligently. He made that volley

:10:50. > :10:51.because he knew that anything over the net would suffice. Superb

:10:52. > :11:13.dynamic balance. That forehand is starting to

:11:14. > :11:19.dominate this match. Such intelligent tennis. He is moving

:11:20. > :11:24.Ferrer from side to side and that tactic is always so effective on the

:11:25. > :11:30.grass court, going back, behind the opponent when you have the

:11:31. > :11:57.opportunity, he changed election. -- direction.

:11:58. > :12:03.He never really moved with the pitch of the ball and that is so

:12:04. > :12:04.important, trying to generate lots of speed, you can use -- lose

:12:05. > :12:32.control of the ball very quickly. Yes. Plenty of time. He is

:12:33. > :12:38.constructing these points so very well. Beautiful tennis, lovely

:12:39. > :12:42.variation through that rally without backhand to give Ferrer something to

:12:43. > :12:48.think about as far as the contact point is concerned. And he can look

:12:49. > :13:25.that ball across the court and open it up, just so easily. -- hook.

:13:26. > :13:36.Well, that is like Ferrer, digging in. He is so good in managing his

:13:37. > :13:41.relatively weak shot, the backhand, and uses his strength to dominate.

:13:42. > :13:45.This is what Kuznetsov does not do. Waiting for the opportunity to

:13:46. > :13:47.dominate with his forehand rather than trying to force with his weaker

:13:48. > :14:15.shot. 89 mph and it came back almost as

:14:16. > :14:19.quickly. Ferrer is struggling to know where to serve to him. He is

:14:20. > :14:54.making only 57% so far. Again, Ferrer pay the price of going

:14:55. > :14:59.with his forehand. His game plan is to move his opponent as much as he

:15:00. > :15:03.can so one shot to the corner and the next to the other corner but he

:15:04. > :15:08.must think about going to his backhand more regularly and do not

:15:09. > :15:10.hit the Kuznetsov forehand because he is using that shot to great

:15:11. > :15:28.effect. And here is set point for the

:15:29. > :16:01.Russian. Very close. He is going to

:16:02. > :16:19.challenge. There is not much in this. It might well be wide. But

:16:20. > :16:27.just by a fraction. It is in. On her macro we will replay that point --

:16:28. > :16:36.UMPIRE:. That was the right decision.

:16:37. > :17:18.That was going to be tricky, Ferrer have the position. His first

:17:19. > :17:22.forehand got Kuznetsov off-balance. He was always in control of that

:17:23. > :17:27.rally. Great movement forwards. So important when volleying. And the

:17:28. > :17:41.attempt at a passing shot, he did that wonderfully.

:17:42. > :17:48.That was a very sneaky move in and he paid the price. Kuznetsov could

:17:49. > :18:10.hardly believe his luck, often Ferrer is so good when sneaking in.

:18:11. > :18:20.Yes, he has got that down the line. For once, not doing enough with his

:18:21. > :18:27.forehand and a few drops short and central, the best players will hurt

:18:28. > :18:56.you all day long. -- if it drops short.

:18:57. > :19:06.Ferrer had to cover some acreage, there. Commanding. He has

:19:07. > :19:10.constructed that point wonderfully, not doing much with his approach

:19:11. > :19:16.shot, nice balance, stepping into the volley, great target, he did not

:19:17. > :19:38.try to do too much with that. It is possible to swing too much at that.

:19:39. > :19:47.Again, the return was punished. Kuznetsov has very fancy that second

:19:48. > :19:49.serve from Ferrer and he would like another one here. His second set

:19:50. > :20:55.point. -- really fancied. Brilliant! That

:20:56. > :21:04.was one of the rallies of the tournament. Sensational stuff from

:21:05. > :21:10.Kuznetsov. From both, really. I did not believe that Ferrer had left

:21:11. > :21:17.that volley midway through, and that caused him all sorts of problems.

:21:18. > :21:22.After that little stumble, Kuznetsov did so well to stay in that rally.

:21:23. > :21:30.And then, of course, he finished that in fine fashion. Set point

:21:31. > :21:39.number three. Again, that serve works. He got enough with on that.

:21:40. > :21:44.Only serving 61% first serves but when he needs it, he has made it,

:21:45. > :22:02.making life more difficult for Kuznetsov.

:22:03. > :22:13.Yes, that was long. No challenge. He only has one challenge left.

:22:14. > :22:41.The forehand, which has served him so well, lets him down. He did not

:22:42. > :22:44.quite get his feet into the right position and he just had to make

:22:45. > :22:47.that very slight adjustment before making contact with the ball. And

:22:48. > :22:50.you try to hit that winner relatively flat so there was no

:22:51. > :23:23.margin for error. Well, that brought Ferrer in and

:23:24. > :23:28.held him construct that point. Can he finish this off? Lovely little

:23:29. > :23:33.volley with the Open racquet. Trying to take some pace of that. Lovely

:23:34. > :23:48.shot selection. No panic under pressure.

:23:49. > :24:35.Well, he has held on. Five games all.

:24:36. > :24:43.It will be fascinating to see just how Kuznetsov reacts. Because he was

:24:44. > :24:47.so close. Difficult to put that out of your mind after a very long game,

:24:48. > :24:53.the pressure building and if you do not claim that's it, it is like I

:24:54. > :25:07.let down in the next game. -- that set. Adding insult to injury.

:25:08. > :25:15.That was a cracker! Especially when you consider that unforced error on

:25:16. > :25:19.the first point. To take that courageous execution, but was

:25:20. > :25:25.superb, you cannot time that any better. Again, he is sticking to his

:25:26. > :25:44.game plan, he knows that he must keep taking those risks.

:25:45. > :25:52.That was a really good second serve, he did so well to slip that in

:25:53. > :25:55.behind. That was valiant. When you consider that Ferrer has slipped a

:25:56. > :25:58.couple of times, the last thing he wants to do is put the brakes on.

:25:59. > :26:16.Such intelligent tennis from Kuznetsov.

:26:17. > :26:25.That was masterful. He has had so much to do. All of that happening in

:26:26. > :26:26.the previous game, those faults Still playing some incredible

:26:27. > :26:59.tennis. Kuznetsov leads 6-5.

:27:00. > :27:04.SUE BARKER: What great tennis on that court, he will be straight back

:27:05. > :27:09.in just a moment but the news is that Andy Murray is three, he was on

:27:10. > :27:16.Court Number One earlier today and after one hour and 24 minutes, he

:27:17. > :27:23.beat the world number 92, Blaz Rola from Slovenia. He will face the

:27:24. > :27:32.winner of the match currently on court 18. Although the 27th seed to

:27:33. > :27:37.the first set, he is one break down. If you want to look at his next

:27:38. > :27:46.opponent, but is online. On Centre Court, Dimitrov is in charge against

:27:47. > :27:55.the qualifier from Australia. That is live over on BBC One.

:27:56. > :28:03.And the former champion, the break of serve up and on course to face

:28:04. > :28:13.Venus Williams in right in round three. And that one is on the Red

:28:14. > :28:20.Button. And Marcos Baghdatis has levelled. One game each. And the

:28:21. > :28:22.winner of that match will play the winner of the match on Court Number

:28:23. > :28:37.Two. And back we go. Ferrer is serving to stay in the

:28:38. > :28:43.match. He must be careful. If that slice is not inch perfect, in terms

:28:44. > :28:54.of being short on the sideline, Kuznetsov is all over that.

:28:55. > :29:15.Look at that. 12 forehand winners from Kuznetsov.

:29:16. > :29:21.And winners against Ferrer will count double! At least! I love that

:29:22. > :29:26.I can't. He has been very aggressive, Ferrer moving to the

:29:27. > :29:31.right and he is going behind the Spaniard, that is so intelligent, it

:29:32. > :29:40.is a safer shot but highly effective.

:29:41. > :29:46.He was bowled going for that forehand but he just got enough on

:29:47. > :30:16.that. That could have been very dicey. -- bold.

:30:17. > :30:25.Grinding him down again on the and so quick to pounce upon the short

:30:26. > :30:37.wall in the rally, allowing him to change it up a bit and dictate play.

:30:38. > :30:56.He will take that insight out, all day. -- inside out.

:30:57. > :31:04.He took a page out of Ferrer's playbook there. He went forwards.

:31:05. > :31:39.Great tennis. Well played. Ferrer, a point away

:31:40. > :31:47.from taking us into a Raker here. -- breaker.

:31:48. > :31:56.I just wonder, I feel that Kuznetsov has to win this set. Talking about

:31:57. > :32:00.his fitness, he is a physical freak. He is obviously fit but not

:32:01. > :32:38.in the same league as this guy. You have played the best tennis you

:32:39. > :32:43.can, and if you do not win the set, you wonder what chance you have It

:32:44. > :32:56.is hugely important that he wins this, having played so well.

:32:57. > :33:06.It is a breaker to decide this. It has been high-class stuff and also

:33:07. > :33:10.an exhausting first set for both players. Andrey Kuznetsov, this is

:33:11. > :34:00.critical for him now. Well done. Doing exactly what

:34:01. > :34:07.Kuznetsov has done so often to him. He has been burnt. Kuznetsov has

:34:08. > :34:25.gone behind him time and time again in this set. It was clever tennis.

:34:26. > :34:36.Wasn't that smart? How quickly did his reign work there? Powerful

:34:37. > :34:40.ground stroke after powerful ground stroke. A drop shot of that quality

:34:41. > :35:25.at this stage in the set, remarkable.

:35:26. > :35:32.Just long! We talked about his amazing physical fitness, Ferrer

:35:33. > :35:36.come a he needed all of it there, and he very nearly needed the point

:35:37. > :36:17.-- got the point. That never looked like happening,

:36:18. > :36:27.that one. That is the first four shots that we have seen under

:36:28. > :37:24.pressure from Kuznetsov. -- poor shot.

:37:25. > :37:33.It is still nip and tuck. What I'd like about his game plan, even

:37:34. > :37:39.though he has been burnt on a couple of occasions, a tech deck that some

:37:40. > :37:47.players -- ataxic that some like to use, work and surprise your

:37:48. > :38:21.opponent, and as long as you do not drop the ball short, it can work.

:38:22. > :38:28.Still there, hammering them down. A lovely return of serve as well. He

:38:29. > :39:17.lent out of the way up the ball and controlled the rally thereafter with

:39:18. > :39:17.That is the third time he slipped his favourite shots.

:39:18. > :39:25.That is the third time he slipped behind the base down -- baseline. It

:39:26. > :39:32.is just when he tried to put the Raikes on. He cannot do it. A good

:39:33. > :40:26.tactic to use. Right in the hitting zone. Now it is

:40:27. > :40:50.Ferrer, having saved four set points with one of his own.

:40:51. > :40:57.All the resilience that he possesses needed their, and he has taken that

:40:58. > :41:11.first set after an hour and seven minutes. Just have to feel tough for

:41:12. > :41:16.Kuznetsov. It was difficult, he played so well. I have seen him play

:41:17. > :41:20.a few matches over the years, but nothing like that. He came into the

:41:21. > :41:27.match with an aggressive gameplay and, went back behind Ferrer time

:41:28. > :41:33.and time again, but Ferrer served well and it really mattered and it

:41:34. > :41:38.allowed him to stick around, and a couple of unforced errors at the tie

:41:39. > :41:47.break, as well as that poor effort when he failed to hit the backhand

:41:48. > :41:53.shot, cost him yearly. It really matters at the tail end of the

:41:54. > :42:01.sets. Those ring a little lower are not quite as good as that. Ferrer

:42:02. > :42:06.will be delighted with 67% of first serves in. He didn't get more in

:42:07. > :42:11.when it really mattered. -- he did get more. The guy who lost the set

:42:12. > :42:19.has the better statistics by and large. Same number of unforced

:42:20. > :42:25.errors, serving points pretty much the same, and when it came to the

:42:26. > :42:31.crunch, he could not get it done. Serve just needed the one break

:42:32. > :42:35.point converted. It is making good use of the opportunities that you

:42:36. > :42:40.have that makes all the difference, and when he had all those that

:42:41. > :42:46.point, 10th game in a set, that was the golden opportunity. Some

:42:47. > :42:53.wonderful tennis throughout. This was the pick of it. A fantastic

:42:54. > :43:02.rally. 26 shots, I think it was and every one with purpose. That is what

:43:03. > :43:06.is so nice throughout this set. He was working so hard to get as many

:43:07. > :43:10.balls back in play as possible. Always looking to try and do

:43:11. > :43:16.something with his ground strokes. Digging so deep to stay in the

:43:17. > :43:22.rally. Always prepared to take that shot on when he was given the

:43:23. > :43:28.opportunity. Really good feel about Wimbledon today. Andy Murray and

:43:29. > :43:31.easy winner. A little bit of relaxation and some wonderful tennis

:43:32. > :43:38.all over the place, but especially on this court. The conditions this

:43:39. > :43:44.year have allowed us to get better tennis earlier in the Championships.

:43:45. > :43:51.12 months ago, players were slipping and falling. We have had more

:43:52. > :43:56.sunshine before the start of the tournament which means it has dried

:43:57. > :44:01.out little bit more and players have more confidence in their moment --

:44:02. > :44:07.movement. They are not slipping as much as they did 12 months ago. When

:44:08. > :44:12.they are more confident in their movement, use the better tennis

:44:13. > :44:19.better shot making. It is better for all concerned. -- you see better

:44:20. > :44:25.tennis. Let's hope the second set is as good as the first. Will there be

:44:26. > :44:33.a let down for Kuznetsov? Can he keep it at a? -- at the Bay is to

:44:34. > :44:44.mark can he keep the Spanish love pound away from him? -- Spanish

:44:45. > :45:21.bloodhounds. A hangover from the loss of the

:45:22. > :45:26.opening set. You have invested so much into it, it is easy to feel

:45:27. > :45:42.despond and at the beginning of the next set.

:45:43. > :45:52.Terrific play from Ferrer. If you can play two or three really good

:45:53. > :46:19.games at the start of the second set, the match can be one.

:46:20. > :46:29.The nightmare of playing Ferrer is that there will be a minimum of four

:46:30. > :46:38.seats. He has not got his heart rate above an hundred and 20 yet! -- 120

:46:39. > :47:01.yet! He is just getting started His play has got to be as good as

:47:02. > :47:06.that. They enjoyed the process of competing more than actually

:47:07. > :47:12.winning. For serve to be involved in a match like this, that is what --

:47:13. > :47:18.for Ferrer to be in a match like this, every ball that they hate is

:47:19. > :47:23.hate with purpose and they are putting the maximum amount of

:47:24. > :47:35.concentration. It is so difficult to apply yourself

:47:36. > :47:43.like that on a daily aces. Good reaction -- daily basis. Good

:47:44. > :47:44.reaction from the Russian. Thought he might falter after dropping the

:47:45. > :48:17.set. A lot of players can take the ball

:48:18. > :48:26.on. It is one thing to be behind your baseline and still hit so

:48:27. > :48:34.aggressively. This is as good as it gets. He has played even better in

:48:35. > :48:39.the opening couple of games here. How low he gets there, underneath

:48:40. > :50:20.the ball, superb technique for a rascal or that. -- a grass court.

:50:21. > :50:25.Hit it to centrally there. Got to try and put him under pressure in

:50:26. > :51:22.terms of movement. Pressure again for temp. Lovely

:51:23. > :51:32.depth on the return, so important. -- pressure again for Ferrer. Lovely

:51:33. > :51:37.depth on the return, so important. I'd do not think the sound effects

:51:38. > :51:39.are particularly good today, that I think Ferrer is getting noisier and

:51:40. > :51:57.noisier. Anything in his zone, he really

:51:58. > :52:26.fancies. Good crack. It is admirable, the way that he has

:52:27. > :52:38.reacted to dropping the first set. A chance here for a double break.

:52:39. > :52:46.It was the tail of the opening set when he had the chances to break the

:52:47. > :53:20.points on the Ferrer always found a really good serve.

:53:21. > :53:27.that shot, Kuznetsov was not attempting to hit a winner. He was

:53:28. > :53:37.constructing the point in his mind and he knew that he had so few

:53:38. > :53:51.options and an excellent chance to win the point.

:53:52. > :54:06.To good! This is some performance from Andrey Kuznetsov.

:54:07. > :54:18.My mind goes back to that first set, when the ball was called out. He is

:54:19. > :54:24.playing so much better. I did not think it was possible. When you are

:54:25. > :54:31.under pressure you can use the left-hand to roll the ball across

:54:32. > :54:37.your opponent's body. An early break always helps and gives you a bit of

:54:38. > :54:44.a boost, just when you need it most. He just can't think that all of the

:54:45. > :54:54.hard work has and done. He leads by a double break. A brilliant junior.

:54:55. > :55:04.He won here five years ago. He found the transition from junior to senior

:55:05. > :55:10.very difficult. He qualified in Casablanca as a lucky loser and has

:55:11. > :55:14.been living on some wraps, really. -- living on scraps. Here he is

:55:15. > :55:53.showing us what a fine player he is. It will do. A collector's item right

:55:54. > :56:05.there. You can excuse him for being put off.

:56:06. > :56:55.He can create some nice angles with the serve.

:56:56. > :57:07.The first time in the match that Ferrer has started to think about

:57:08. > :57:15.what might happen at the beginning of the third set and is conserving

:57:16. > :57:32.energy, both physically and emotionally.

:57:33. > :57:40.He is comprehensively outplaying him at the moment. His net play has been

:57:41. > :57:49.a movement through the ball all stop he is not lunging to the ball. -

:57:50. > :58:21.through the ball. He is not lunging to the ball all stop -- wall.

:58:22. > :58:36.Is it going to stop in next time? I'd like his courage of his

:58:37. > :58:40.convictions. He knows how well he needs to execute his game plan and

:58:41. > :58:52.he has done it supremely well so far. The continues to serve to the

:58:53. > :58:59.forehand -- Ferrer continues to serve to the forehand.

:59:00. > :59:11.On the back foot. All that has happened in the last 20 minutes is

:59:12. > :59:26.starting to it to Ferrer. It is break point for five love. That

:59:27. > :59:29.serve down to the forehand works a lot better for Ferrer. He likes that

:59:30. > :59:56.angle that he gets. We said before he might not have the

:59:57. > :00:02.weaponry to give Ferrer a nightmare. It is the forehand that primarily

:00:03. > :00:23.does most of the damage. Ferrer is guilty of feeling a little to

:00:24. > :00:35.centrally. He is much too good at the moment. And a very big upset

:00:36. > :00:41.might be on the cards. Hopefully you were not speaking loudly because

:00:42. > :00:47.Ferrer would be right up your! He does not even contemplate defeat but

:00:48. > :00:53.he has been manhandled in the last 25 minutes. Even on a grass court,

:00:54. > :00:59.the ball is bouncing higher, and it is very difficult. Against Andy

:01:00. > :01:04.Murray a couple of years ago, he almost died played him for the

:01:05. > :01:08.opening sets. It was very tight but Andy Murray eventually prevailed in

:01:09. > :01:13.a very close match but Kuznetsov here is playing world-class tennis.

:01:14. > :01:18.Ferrer is trying to dictate the play and he must defend the vast majority

:01:19. > :01:23.of the time and is constantly pushed onto his back foot. Kuznetsov is

:01:24. > :01:29.keeping incredible depth. There is nothing worse than constantly

:01:30. > :01:33.feeling that you are under pressure and you are rushing and off-balance

:01:34. > :01:48.and you cannot dictate. That is what has happened throughout this set.

:01:49. > :02:04.The second set has lasted only 0 minutes until now.

:02:05. > :02:11.It is difficult not to get carried away! He will hope that he wins this

:02:12. > :02:12.set very quickly when thinking about the bigger picture. Conserving

:02:13. > :02:37.energy. Ferrer is finding this incredibly

:02:38. > :02:41.difficult to read. He normally prides itself on getting the lead on

:02:42. > :02:50.the server. Always making contact with the ball.

:02:51. > :02:59.That is incredible, that was half of a metre from the baseline, and he

:03:00. > :03:03.normally thinks that his opponent must defend and at least able get

:03:04. > :03:16.that neutralising shot. But another winner. -- I am able.

:03:17. > :03:34.He has got to set points, Kuznetsov is ranked number 118 in the world.

:03:35. > :03:52.-- two. I guess the number seven seed. The number seven in the world,

:03:53. > :03:57.it is one set all. I have seen the likes of Roger Federer blowing

:03:58. > :04:02.Ferrer away on occasion and also Novak Djokovic and Andy Murray and

:04:03. > :04:08.Tomas Berdych, but not somebody ranked 118. That will show you just

:04:09. > :04:14.depth of men's tennis on the World Tour, this is someone who has been

:04:15. > :04:17.living on scraps and trying to come through qualifying and he can turn

:04:18. > :04:23.up year at Wimbledon with no real winners on grass and playing tennis

:04:24. > :04:29.like that, 23 minutes is all that it took to beat Ferrer. There cannot be

:04:30. > :04:35.many people in this game that can say they have done that. It tells me

:04:36. > :04:40.about the strength of the tennis with the men but it also makes me

:04:41. > :04:45.wonder a little bit about Kuznetsov, if he can play this well, why is he

:04:46. > :04:53.arrived only 118? Perhaps we will find out. That was world-class

:04:54. > :05:05.tennis. 86% of the first serves finding the mark. Look at the

:05:06. > :05:07.difference, those break points. He has made only one unforced error in

:05:08. > :05:36.the whole set. Kuznetsov has called for his

:05:37. > :05:42.trainer. He has blisters. Taking his shoe and sock of. When you change

:05:43. > :05:46.services, he has played on clay courts, coming onto the grass

:05:47. > :05:51.courts, the body must react differently, staying low all the

:05:52. > :05:54.time and you slip more frequently. The shoes will start to rub against

:05:55. > :05:59.you and you will start to get listers. You must be aware of that,

:06:00. > :06:11.especially when playing the best-of-5 sets compared to only

:06:12. > :06:14.three. -- blisters. It is managing these grand slam events, and that

:06:15. > :06:19.can make a difference. He obviously feels that he needs treatment. The

:06:20. > :06:24.problem is, all of that momentum that he did build up so conclusively

:06:25. > :06:31.has been dissipated. I would agree entirely, that must be killing him

:06:32. > :06:35.to call for the trainer. We are dying at the far end of Wimbledon,

:06:36. > :06:39.so it will take a very long time to get from the locker room to this

:06:40. > :06:45.particular court and this will allow Ferrer to just calm things down and

:06:46. > :06:50.think, OK, I was blown away in that set but I am still in this match and

:06:51. > :06:53.he cannot keep this up. There is a very long distance for the trainer

:06:54. > :06:59.to come away from the locker room, all the way down to where we are. We

:07:00. > :07:09.are at the furthest point away from the changing room so I would agree,

:07:10. > :07:12.at the final in Madrid, they were playing brilliant tennis and I was

:07:13. > :07:17.an injury time-out. It took six minutes to get back and he did not

:07:18. > :07:23.win another game. Had to pull out in the third set. Momentum is just so

:07:24. > :07:36.difficult to create so once you have done that, you do everything you can

:07:37. > :07:37.to maintain that. We still wait This will give Kuznetsov some

:07:38. > :07:42.to maintain that. We still wait This will time to contemplate about

:07:43. > :07:46.what he has achieved. Having never beaten any top ten player in his

:07:47. > :07:58.career. He beat everybody as a junior. Here is his trainer. He is

:07:59. > :08:13.out of breath. He had to run! I am sure this will be just take. --

:08:14. > :08:19.tape. This will give Ferrer the chance for arrest. We did mention

:08:20. > :08:31.that he has extraordinary powers of recovery. He was full out. This is a

:08:32. > :08:38.shock, when you are as good as Ferrer, finalist in grand slam

:08:39. > :08:42.matches, to be blown away in 23 minutes by someone ranked 118, you

:08:43. > :08:47.do start asking some serious questions about yourself. This will

:08:48. > :08:52.really help them. Kuznetsov had to take this time-out. You will see a

:08:53. > :08:57.much stronger Ferrer at the start of the third set. But can Kuznetsov

:08:58. > :09:10.keep this up? That will be questionable.

:09:11. > :09:22.Ferrer is doing the right thing Just moving around. Practising some

:09:23. > :09:33.servers. -- service. I don't think that slip has affected him too much.

:09:34. > :09:38.-- serves. When something like that happens to him, he can shake it off,

:09:39. > :09:46.he will push themselves so hard physically on the practice court,

:09:47. > :09:51.training in the gym. His trainer used to do some running off-season,

:09:52. > :09:54.he will pride himself on just starting the season in the best

:09:55. > :09:58.possible shape. He is used to playing with little injuries,

:09:59. > :10:05.pushing himself physically and emotionally. I'm still able to play

:10:06. > :10:18.good tennis. This will not be too problematic. I always marvel at how

:10:19. > :10:24.well they can treat blisters as well as they do. And it is so public And

:10:25. > :10:30.it does put some stress on the Achilles. On the clay-court you will

:10:31. > :10:34.react to those high bouncing balls. You are elevated for most of the

:10:35. > :10:39.time but on the grass court, you will stay much lower, that will put

:10:40. > :10:42.more stress on the Achilles and the calf muscles. That is why you

:10:43. > :10:44.more stress on the Achilles and the calf muscles. That is why will get

:10:45. > :10:57.such a strain when you change services. This is a very busy time

:10:58. > :11:02.for the trainers. People at home who will not have heard of Kuznetsov,

:11:03. > :11:10.the Australian Open, Roland Garros? He failed to qualify. He could not

:11:11. > :11:16.do it. And here he is, he just scraped in. And he is not on the

:11:17. > :11:21.verge, but he is a serious scraped in. And he is not on the

:11:22. > :11:30.verge, but he is a contender to put out the number seven. It is

:11:31. > :11:33.important for him to be able to maintain that level of intensity

:11:34. > :11:38.that we could see throughout that second set, that concentration, he

:11:39. > :11:42.played a brilliant first game and he lost the first one to get that

:11:43. > :11:52.initial break. That put him on a roll. He does need to respond

:11:53. > :12:56.positively, as does Ferrer. Here we go. Set number three.

:12:57. > :13:27.Well, this is surprising. This is not what we thought. Ferrer has not

:13:28. > :13:43.really got going yet. He could be one break down.

:13:44. > :13:47.The beauty of the system is, you can draw a line in the sand. And start

:13:48. > :14:15.again. That was so deep and strong. And he

:14:16. > :14:21.is ahead in this match. That was a brilliant response. It can be

:14:22. > :14:25.difficult to maintain that level of focus and concentration after that

:14:26. > :14:32.injury time-out but Ferrer is continuing to struggle. He has been

:14:33. > :14:38.broken on four successive times He needs to open it up and mix it up.

:14:39. > :14:46.That has not worked at all for him today. The Russian has been able to

:14:47. > :15:06.hurt him with his return. He is struggling for a game plan.

:15:07. > :15:14.His anticipation was so good. He will be disappointed he missed that

:15:15. > :15:18.final pass. He was already moving in that direction. That is why he is so

:15:19. > :16:01.annoyed, there. Can't Ferrer get something going? It

:16:02. > :16:24.has been a very long time since he has.

:16:25. > :16:32.I love that serve. That is one tactic you can use against an

:16:33. > :16:34.opponent who will stand well of the court. They do not have time to get

:16:35. > :16:57.out of the way. -- well up. That is good. That was like a rifle

:16:58. > :17:03.shot. Again, that return was central, it was too short. Kuznetsov

:17:04. > :17:13.is prepared to take that on every time he does get that shot.

:17:14. > :17:29.But here is Ferrer with the break point. He broke in the fifth game

:17:30. > :17:55.and has not broken since. That might have been a mistake from

:17:56. > :18:00.Kuznetsov but Ferrer has got something, at last. It is so

:18:01. > :18:04.important for him to be able to rebuild his confidence after losing

:18:05. > :18:39.seven games in a row. So that was vital.

:18:40. > :18:50.Another vamos. He can sense that it has switched, he is trying to assert

:18:51. > :19:01.his authority. And verbally. Making his mark on his opponent.

:19:02. > :19:09.That is important, when you lose seven games in a row, your opponent

:19:10. > :19:10.might think you are sliding away. You must make sure that he knows

:19:11. > :20:04.that you are not. At last, some optimism for the

:20:05. > :20:09.Spaniard. In that second set, Ferrer must have been feeling powerless. He

:20:10. > :20:14.was not in control of any of the rallies, trying to make as many

:20:15. > :20:19.balls as he could but every single point was coming from Kuznetsov The

:20:20. > :20:27.trouble is, he was playing high risk tennis. Then that is working, it is

:20:28. > :20:31.incredibly effective. But as soon as he starts to miss, he will miss it a

:20:32. > :20:35.lot quickly. And that is what has started to happen. When it is

:20:36. > :20:42.working well, highly effective but when not, you will shoot yourself in

:20:43. > :20:46.the foot. Ferrer will be hoping that he can just keep making balls and

:20:47. > :20:56.Kuznetsov will give him some cheap points. On forged errors, they are

:20:57. > :21:08.the meat and drink for Ferrer. - on forged. -- unforced. Can he put a

:21:09. > :21:18.lid on this? He only made three in that second

:21:19. > :21:36.set and he has made four of them already in the third.

:21:37. > :21:42.Close, but he did not think that was worth challenging. He has already

:21:43. > :22:02.lost one challenge in this set. What was that? That was a great

:22:03. > :22:09.return because Kuznetsov has been getting cheap points from the serve

:22:10. > :22:13.out wide. But that poor shot, just struggling to raise the level of his

:22:14. > :22:32.intensity. Errors coming thick and fast.

:22:33. > :22:41.Beautifully directed and powered home. Great return. He is making

:22:42. > :23:03.Kuznetsov hit a shot this good in order to win the point.

:23:04. > :23:08.You can understand his frustration, he wanted to keep Kuznetsov working

:23:09. > :23:46.hard in such an important game. Error after error. It is because he

:23:47. > :24:10.hits the ball hard and flat, they can look like poor errors.

:24:11. > :24:14.The standard of this match has been phenomenally high but it is dropping

:24:15. > :24:35.dramatically in this game. Kuznetsov will not worry too much.

:24:36. > :24:39.Ferrer missed a trick, there. Those backhand returns that he did mess

:24:40. > :24:47.where crucial. The momentum was very much on his side. He has allowed

:24:48. > :25:04.Kuznetsov to hang around. -- he did mess where crucial.

:25:05. > :25:10.to take another look. He did not miss by much. He did not miss at

:25:11. > :25:32.all. In terms of Ferrer, that is

:25:33. > :26:16.unforgivable. Maybe it is your kind of day when it

:26:17. > :26:22.lands on the baseline. It is so difficult to read how the ball is

:26:23. > :26:39.going to react because it has got so much side spin on it. Very tough.

:26:40. > :26:49.Again, he completely wrong-footed Ferrer. He does hit that a little

:26:50. > :26:54.bit like Tomas Berdych. When he just hops across the court. Ferrer was

:26:55. > :27:00.expecting that want to go down the line. So, a couple of break points.

:27:01. > :27:42.Down the line. He has just missed. About one inch,

:27:43. > :27:45.maybe. When you miss it that deeply, you are eating opponent for the

:27:46. > :27:50.change in direction. When you hit things hard and flat, it is tough to

:27:51. > :28:02.get the ball to dip down into the court.

:28:03. > :28:05.The Russian was leading to his right, he thought that was the

:28:06. > :28:40.slider. So, a couple of break points have

:28:41. > :28:45.been saved by Ferrer. 3-2. SUE BARKER: He looks like he means

:28:46. > :28:52.business. We will be straight back but some results. Fabio Fognini from

:28:53. > :28:59.Ed Leigh, coming through in four sets. In the next round he will play

:29:00. > :29:11.Kevin Anderson. That big serving South African. -- from Italy. And

:29:12. > :29:17.Leonardo from Argentina, coming through against Marcos Baghdatis. He

:29:18. > :29:25.will wait for the winner of Kuznetsov and Ferrer. One Centre

:29:26. > :29:30.Court, Novak Djokovic of which, the top seed is an action against Radek

:29:31. > :29:42.Stepanek. That is life over on BBC One. Early stages, there. And Thomas

:29:43. > :29:49.Burdick, he was one break of serve down, he has the break point against

:29:50. > :29:55.Bernard Tomic. That has gone back. So, the quarterfinalists battle on.

:29:56. > :30:05.That is on the Red Button. This one is also. Victoria Azarenka. Good to

:30:06. > :30:13.see her back against -- after injury. That is only read out in

:30:14. > :30:23.also. But back we go. -- that is on the Red Button.

:30:24. > :30:31.He will feel a little aggrieved that he could not get the break last

:30:32. > :30:33.time. Last time he was frustrated he came back and took the second set

:30:34. > :31:02.6-0. There was a rally that belonged to

:31:03. > :31:08.the second set. Choosing precisely the right moment to move up the

:31:09. > :31:10.court. It is all about brushing up the back of the ball to hit that

:31:11. > :31:22.shot effectively. So clever. He has a nice demeanour

:31:23. > :31:56.about him. Very well played. Again, he bounces

:31:57. > :32:21.back. He was struggling but now I think

:32:22. > :32:39.there is something better about his game.

:32:40. > :32:43.You have got to understand when you're playing a match that is the

:32:44. > :33:11.best-of-5 sets, it ebbs and flows. I thought this could go five sets

:33:12. > :33:17.after the second set. Looking at Kuznetsov, he has played a five set

:33:18. > :33:21.match three times and lost every time. You can imagine, Ferrer, 9

:33:22. > :33:37.wins, ten losses. He's making a big push emotionally

:33:38. > :33:57.now, Ferrer. So one love service game countered

:33:58. > :34:12.by another. It is less physically demanding than

:34:13. > :34:19.it was. The first set was very physically demanding. The second set

:34:20. > :34:23.had some long rallies in it. I think Ferrer has just started to play bore

:34:24. > :34:28.aggressively as well. Wanting to try and finish the points -- he is now

:34:29. > :34:43.playing more aggressively. If you can get Kuznetsov off balance

:34:44. > :34:47.by playing more aggressively, then he has got more of a chance of

:34:48. > :34:56.drawing an error from the Russian. He plays his best tennis when he

:34:57. > :34:58.gets a good solid foundation when Ferrer is guilty of dropping the

:34:59. > :35:00.ball. If you can keep him off balance by playing more

:35:01. > :35:18.aggressively, I think that will really help his cause.

:35:19. > :35:21.They have been going exactly two hours. There could be another two

:35:22. > :35:42.hours left in this. He was shaking off his arm there a

:35:43. > :36:15.bit. It starts to tighten up. It has gone down the line a few

:36:16. > :36:43.times in this set and has not really worked for him.

:36:44. > :36:50.There are really working now. For the first time, Kuznetsov looked a

:36:51. > :37:59.little fatigued as he went to get his towel.

:38:00. > :38:08.Kuznetsov looks as if he is starting to fray. Maybe it is a disguise He

:38:09. > :39:39.is suddenly looking very tired. That is a sign of how confident he

:39:40. > :39:43.is now. You could see there was a bit of a gap there and he knows

:39:44. > :39:50.Kuznetsov is not moving as well as he did in the opening set so it was

:39:51. > :40:08.worth taking the risk. Kuznetsov turned away rather

:40:09. > :40:10.sluggishly after that shot. Here are two set points for Ferrer to go set

:40:11. > :40:43.up again. He is challenging. This will be very

:40:44. > :41:11.close. He has a couple of challenges left.

:41:12. > :41:30.There are countering as we know he can. -- David Ferrer countering And

:41:31. > :41:35.a match which looked out of his control in the second set is now

:41:36. > :41:40.more or less where he wants that. It is funny how quickly this situation

:41:41. > :41:44.can change. He was outplayed, the vast majority of the points which

:41:45. > :41:51.were played in the second set but here in the third, the dip has come

:41:52. > :41:55.so quickly for Kuznetsov. He is not moving as well as he did in the

:41:56. > :42:01.early stages of the match. He is not able to hit as aggressively without

:42:02. > :42:07.missing. The more confident the Spaniard gets. He has started to

:42:08. > :42:12.play with more authority and started to assert his authority. Verbally,

:42:13. > :42:18.every time he won the point and when he builds momentum he can make good

:42:19. > :42:22.use of it. We talked about the momentum. Here is how it is

:42:23. > :42:55.interpreted in the stats. Kuznetsov is not as quick to move up

:42:56. > :43:00.the court. 12 unforced errors. He needs to improve all aspects of his

:43:01. > :43:08.game. I'm sure it will start with the serve. With more first serves

:43:09. > :43:10.in, that will allow him to dominate. I wonder if he will go for a few

:43:11. > :43:19.more glory shots. It could be a very entertaining

:43:20. > :44:48.fourth set. Just what the doctor ordered. A

:44:49. > :44:54.Young man who said he would have been a doctorate he had not been a

:44:55. > :44:58.tennis player. That is interesting. I interviewed him a few years ago in

:44:59. > :45:01.St Petersburg. I asked him what he was trying to achieve in the game

:45:02. > :45:05.and he said he would like to be number one in the world. He was

:45:06. > :45:09.number three junior. He was the junior champion at Wimbledon in

:45:10. > :45:47.2009. Sometimes when you play a match you

:45:48. > :45:48.have got good intentions but the shot is not working so you have to

:45:49. > :46:18.stop using it. That is what makes that shot more

:46:19. > :46:30.difficult. When he makes it, it is so much more enjoyable.

:46:31. > :47:34.He got that spot-on. It surprised Ferrer.

:47:35. > :48:05.It will not work every time and it is not working often enough.

:48:06. > :48:13.Always at the back of his mind, Kuznetsov must be thinking, David

:48:14. > :48:36.Ferrer will not tire. It makes a difference to your Outlook.

:48:37. > :48:47.That was clever. So many players would try and hit it with a

:48:48. > :48:53.two-handed backhand. You need a deft touch to be able to pull it off

:48:54. > :49:04.Hop, skip and a jump always helps as well.

:49:05. > :49:47.He was foot faulted early on but not for the last hour or so.

:49:48. > :49:58.He was a little slow there. That was a tell-tale sign. It was a great dig

:49:59. > :50:03.from Ferrer. I have been watching Kuznetsov. It looks as if he's a bit

:50:04. > :50:17.hobbling -- he's hobbling a little bit.

:50:18. > :50:31.Well played! A stunning rally. Incredible control. To half-volley

:50:32. > :51:02.this one into the space, the timing has to be absolutely perfect.

:51:03. > :51:06.This is brilliant from both guys. It could be very significant as far as

:51:07. > :51:16.the match is concerned. Though there was a nice big gap for

:51:17. > :51:52.him to hit into. A couple of really good first

:51:53. > :52:14.serves. Top-flight player and he stays in

:52:15. > :52:20.front. You wouldn't feel he is hanging on but he is just about

:52:21. > :52:26.their, holding Ferrer of bite you feel that could be more damage to

:52:27. > :52:31.come. You get the distinct impression that if he was to get a

:52:32. > :52:35.break it would seal the match. These are the type of matches that really

:52:36. > :52:41.builds character when you are young player, making your way up the

:52:42. > :52:45.rankings. It is really important that he responds positively, even if

:52:46. > :52:49.he loses it. There are so many positives that he can take out of

:52:50. > :52:53.the Championships, particularly playing against someone who is

:52:54. > :52:59.ranked as high as Ferrer. You can take that confidence into the

:53:00. > :53:03.smaller tournaments. It is so important to be able to believe that

:53:04. > :53:09.when you get to the majors, and you do draw a superstar, a seeded player

:53:10. > :53:17.and you have a game that can hurt them. Win or lose here, and it is

:53:18. > :53:19.beginning to look like the latter, he has certainly proved he has got

:53:20. > :53:41.the tools to do so. That was not a David Ferrer shot,

:53:42. > :54:13.that one. Come on, Ferrer, put your back into

:54:14. > :54:29.it! APPLAUSE

:54:30. > :54:50.He just did enough with the final forehand.

:54:51. > :54:58.A nice little volley from Ferrer. It may be beautiful sound when he

:54:59. > :55:01.struck the ball. A bit of slice on it, moved through it beautifully.

:55:02. > :56:02.Excellent tennis. It was not an easy shot. You have to

:56:03. > :56:04.make contact with the ball. It is not easy when you are racing up the

:56:05. > :56:20.court. He has got at. Momentum was going so

:56:21. > :56:26.firmly Ferrer's way. And it has been blocked. Incredible, what a boost

:56:27. > :56:34.for the Russian. If years as tired as he looks

:56:35. > :57:33.sometimes, it is a timely boost I remember we talked about him

:57:34. > :57:40.needing to improve his quality of serving in this set. He only made

:57:41. > :58:26.46% of first serves in the last set but it is up to 70%.

:58:27. > :58:58.This is very unusual from Ferrer, letting that initiative slip.

:58:59. > :59:02.He has not been saying vamos so much at the moment. The job is far from

:59:03. > :59:31.done. fading out of this, he has come

:59:32. > :59:37.back. And Ferrer has let that happen. There is no question, he has

:59:38. > :59:43.responded by fine tuning his game and serving better. If you serve

:59:44. > :59:49.well, the attempt to play well and that is certainly the case on grass,

:59:50. > :59:54.an opportunity to shorten those points and we can see some positive

:59:55. > :59:59.body language, there. In the third set we were talking about holding

:00:00. > :00:10.character and responding positively. And he has done so. That is a really

:00:11. > :00:19.impressive thing. We thought this would be a very comfortable much on

:00:20. > :00:22.paper for Ferrer but this is showing some very contrast in styles. All of

:00:23. > :00:32.those people have really enjoyed themselves. 40,000 seats and very

:00:33. > :00:42.few are empty. -- 4000. They have been richly reworded.

:00:43. > :01:08.This is what was happening earlier on. Very quick to move up to that

:01:09. > :01:12.short ball, he hits that so well. You played your strengths, but is

:01:13. > :01:26.always so important at whatever level of tennis. -- that is.

:01:27. > :01:32.It is amazing how just a little bit of success can change the body

:01:33. > :01:45.language. He is looking more sprightly.

:01:46. > :02:04.He needs to keep telling himself, just one break.

:02:05. > :02:13.It is the ability to realise the quality of the ground stroke and if

:02:14. > :02:16.you have had a good one, you must understand your opponent has to

:02:17. > :02:37.defend and that is the time to surge forward. And he does that so well.

:02:38. > :02:47.That was the right idea but it was nowhere near coming off. But you are

:02:48. > :02:54.right, looking at Kuznetsov, there is that distinct limp. Some people

:02:55. > :02:57.almost have an affectation, perhaps as a result of an older injury, but

:02:58. > :03:08.he is limping whenever he is walking. He needed that strapping.

:03:09. > :03:10.He had that injury time-out. That is when all that is happening here in

:03:11. > :03:18.the fourth set is all the more remarkable.

:03:19. > :03:26.When you have a problem, that kind of injury, you must keep those

:03:27. > :03:33.rallies shorter. It sometimes simplifies the situation.

:03:34. > :03:40.His serving is so much better. Especially when you are an

:03:41. > :03:55.aggressive player, this is your first chance to dominate.

:03:56. > :04:34.It did not miss by much but it did, importantly, Miss. And Ferrer

:04:35. > :05:06.optimistic again. Good shot selection. He is OK. That

:05:07. > :05:10.was really nasty. He was deep and wide. It is greener, there is more

:05:11. > :05:25.moisture to the surface. The challenge, feeling it was wide.

:05:26. > :05:31.The umpire is moving to his chair, as if he has not got any doubt. They

:05:32. > :05:46.are looking up the screen. It was odd. -- out. And the momentum has

:05:47. > :05:51.been destroyed. Kuznetsov is once again a very lively contender in

:05:52. > :05:56.this match. As long as he can keep those rallies nice and short, if he

:05:57. > :06:00.gives Ferrer too many looks at his second serve... That was a

:06:01. > :06:07.fundamental difference in the third set, Ferrer was able to dictate and

:06:08. > :06:13.he had Kuznetsov off-balance and under pressure. He is hurting that

:06:14. > :06:19.Achilles even more and he will make more unforced errors. If you can

:06:20. > :06:24.keep those rallies short, coming in whenever Ferrer drops short, he has

:06:25. > :06:30.got every chance. He must stick to that game plan, choosing the pattern

:06:31. > :06:32.of play that has worked in this match and that is his forehand

:06:33. > :06:40.across the court and the backhand and occasionally the forehand inside

:06:41. > :06:46.out. Kuznetsov has played seven Grand Slam matches and has won only

:06:47. > :06:51.two of those. That was until the first round against Dan Evans, and

:06:52. > :06:59.he must be feeling a little bit better about himself watching this.

:07:00. > :07:00.He is telling everybody that he played even better than this against

:07:01. > :07:23.him. That was long. The umpire is not

:07:24. > :07:49.going to get involved. That is good play from Ferrer, which

:07:50. > :07:51.is not easy when you have an injury, to keep pushing off and

:07:52. > :08:41.changing direction. There was just too much velocity.

:08:42. > :08:46.They pressure on Kuznetsov. He has an opportunity to see what he is

:08:47. > :08:49.made. He deserves the lead, he has played very good tennis in the

:08:50. > :09:00.fourth set. Especially when you consider the third set.

:09:01. > :09:09.Cool as you like. No hesitation whatsoever, that player has worked

:09:10. > :09:26.so well for him. Use it, settle those nerves.

:09:27. > :09:34.That was a scorcher. No hesitation whatsoever. Such a very loose arm,

:09:35. > :10:36.those superb forehands. Here we go, then. He has got to set

:10:37. > :10:44.points to take this into the decider.

:10:45. > :10:58.He is challenging. Kuznetsov fears that this might be why he has not

:10:59. > :11:10.made any move but he has got the set.

:11:11. > :11:21.SUE BARKER: The drama goes on and Ferrer has got it at all. We will be

:11:22. > :11:26.back. You said Andy Murray is through after just one hour and 24

:11:27. > :11:34.minutes, dismissing Blaz Rola from Slovenia. Wonderful ovation for Andy

:11:35. > :11:44.Murray. The crowd loved that. Very impressive from the defending

:11:45. > :11:55.champion. And we know that he will meet Roberto Bautista, he is next.

:11:56. > :12:00.He has reached the fourth round of the Australian and the third-round

:12:01. > :12:10.in the French Open, he will be a much tougher opponent for Andy

:12:11. > :12:14.Murray. We will be heading back but on Court Number One, this is only

:12:15. > :12:28.read button, Tomas Berdych in trouble. He will have to battle --

:12:29. > :12:36.on the Red Button. And this one also. Victoria Azarenka. Coming back

:12:37. > :12:46.from injury, but she has dropped the opening set. That is also on the Red

:12:47. > :12:54.Button. You will keep our eyes on this one... -- we will.

:12:55. > :13:04.Hold onto your hats. This'll a very good ride. Will this be the making

:13:05. > :13:12.of this fellow? He has never beaten any top ten player in his six-year

:13:13. > :13:35.professional career. This into the crowd. -- listened to the crowd --

:13:36. > :13:55.listened. -- listen. Ferrer has a record 19 wins.

:13:56. > :14:04.Normally, you would back Ferrer Going into the fifth set, all of his

:14:05. > :14:13.experience and skills. But I am much. You would. But could this be

:14:14. > :14:22.one occasion in which he is surprised.

:14:23. > :14:31.-- I am not sure. This will be more difficult, he has played his best

:14:32. > :14:37.tennis when he has been behind and there is less pressure. Into the

:14:38. > :14:38.fifth set, this is unknown, he has never beaten any top ten player

:14:39. > :15:08.before. This is doubly difficult. Fantastic! Still, cool as you like,

:15:09. > :15:13.trusting his skill. He does understand his game plan, simple,

:15:14. > :15:20.take advantage of anything that drops short. On both wings. He has

:15:21. > :15:54.got nice extension through the ball on his backhand.

:15:55. > :15:59.Would you believe it? Break point for Kuznetsov to go ahead in the

:16:00. > :16:16.fifth set. He is going to challenge and I think

:16:17. > :17:05.he might be right. Well done! He was sharp as a razor.

:17:06. > :17:12.Brilliant tennis. You always want to play best tennis on these points.

:17:13. > :17:19.And he was able to do that superbly. He has primarily played at the

:17:20. > :17:24.baseline as a junior and has tried to add aspects to his game plan He

:17:25. > :17:30.followed the line of the ball, no big swing on that high volley. Great

:17:31. > :17:33.body language. He sends out a very strong message to the Spaniard.

:17:34. > :17:45.Getting that break at the very earliest opportunity. What a start!

:17:46. > :17:53.Me mention fatigue A body language. I do not think he was bluffing. I

:17:54. > :18:06.think he was genuinely jaded. Forget that night! -- now. It is a case of

:18:07. > :18:11.controlling the adrenaline. It is very easy for the mind to wander.

:18:12. > :18:25.You must just take care of business on each individual service game

:18:26. > :18:31.He has a little support from the crowd as well. They would appreciate

:18:32. > :18:38.the Tennessee has played this afternoon and that will also help in

:18:39. > :18:54.this final set. -- the tennis he has played.

:18:55. > :19:05.Well, he had better be right. To stop right in the middle of the

:19:06. > :19:12.rally. I guess he is probably right. He has scarcely made any error as

:19:13. > :19:19.big as this. Oh! That is always the toughest to see, the one underneath

:19:20. > :19:21.your very nose. You tend to see it as it leaves the court as opposed to

:19:22. > :19:39.when it bounces. He has turned particularly well from

:19:40. > :20:03.the forehand, that was an absolute peach.

:20:04. > :20:23.That looks like it hired shot. - a tired.

:20:24. > :21:00.That was the right shot. Ferrer has got a chance to bite back at him.

:21:01. > :21:11.Fantastic! Who else but Ferrer would have let that rally go on as long as

:21:12. > :21:16.that? Deconstructed that point beautifully, Kuznetsov. He did not

:21:17. > :21:21.quite time that smash. It would have been easy to panic on that forehand

:21:22. > :21:23.volley. That was a brilliant approach. The execution of the

:21:24. > :22:07.volley was perfect. The second forehand that has been

:22:08. > :22:12.missed. Went flat and hard, if you are not in the right position, it

:22:13. > :22:13.just exaggerates any error that you make, and with spin you can get away

:22:14. > :22:28.with Miss timing. That is a lovely shot and also a

:22:29. > :22:34.lovely attitude. Ferrer got the ball back and play. That is so important,

:22:35. > :22:35.be proactive, not waiting for the ball to come back before deciding

:22:36. > :22:54.what to do. There have been some brilliant

:22:55. > :22:55.points in this game but also errors for Kuznetsov and they might prove

:22:56. > :23:38.crucial. Another chance for Ferrer. Very important for him to make his

:23:39. > :23:46.point. Nothing wanting to be lost. Disappointing game from Kuznetsov.

:23:47. > :24:41.Unforced errors. This is a bonus for Ferrer.

:24:42. > :24:50.Not really close. Ferrer putting the pressure on. That is four times in

:24:51. > :24:55.this match that he has attempted the drop shot from the backhand. And he

:24:56. > :25:02.is yet to win one single point from that.

:25:03. > :25:46.that it looked like a decent challenge. Perhaps a fraction of the

:25:47. > :25:53.line. And it did. So, Ferrer is in front once more.

:25:54. > :26:03.The momentum is switching backwards and forwards so fast. It is one

:26:04. > :26:06.thing you must deal with as an experienced player at the highest

:26:07. > :26:09.level, something Ferrer has been dealing with for ten years and

:26:10. > :26:14.something Kuznetsov is just getting used to. That is the beauty of

:26:15. > :26:18.matches like this, you will gain so much experience, money in the bank

:26:19. > :26:24.that you will draw upon in the future. That is the advantage that

:26:25. > :26:29.Ferrer has, he has done this, he understands what to expect.

:26:30. > :26:34.Kuznetsov has never won any five set match. He is always unsure of what

:26:35. > :26:41.is going to happen. He is dealing with the negative process of being

:26:42. > :26:45.one break up. Having had the chance to get that decent lead and having

:26:46. > :26:47.failed to make the most of that he must deal with that. Those negative

:26:48. > :27:01.thoughts at the back of the mind. It is a very British attitude to say

:27:02. > :27:06.he will get a lot out of this match, win or lose. But he will. But if he

:27:07. > :27:13.should lose another five set match... That will not do him any

:27:14. > :27:18.good. You start to get that mental thing, after five sets, you think

:27:19. > :27:50.about the previous record. And so it goes.

:27:51. > :27:57.Good depth, forceful opponent into the half volley. -- force your

:27:58. > :29:02.opponent. Well played. The forehand has been

:29:03. > :29:06.the key weapon. 304I dread winners. But the backhand is very effective

:29:07. > :29:10.as well. He generated enough of an angle to force Ferrer to go onto one

:29:11. > :29:20.hand and that worked well for him. He was asking a lot of himself to

:29:21. > :29:54.make that shot. Well played! He did not do enough

:29:55. > :30:03.with his forehand, Kuznetsov. And after that, Ferrer was on him.

:30:04. > :30:16.Lovely combination. He was already racing up the court, expecting the

:30:17. > :30:20.short volley. He was able to hit that with two hands because he got

:30:21. > :30:52.there quickly enough. Amazing from David Ferrer.

:30:53. > :31:00.Phenomenal movement to get to the ball. Everyone else would throw up

:31:01. > :31:51.some sort of blog there. -- some sort of law but there.

:31:52. > :31:59.He took a swipe at that. That was his bread and butter. He never

:32:00. > :32:20.misses those. That was not close. Good serving. This young Russian

:32:21. > :32:23.stays with him. That was a crucial hold given that he was a break up

:32:24. > :32:56.early doors. He's going to challenge it and he

:32:57. > :33:31.might be right here. Initially he found it difficult get

:33:32. > :33:33.any cheap points from Kuznetsov on serve but the Russian is not moving

:33:34. > :34:06.as brightly as he was. The backhand is looking top-class

:34:07. > :34:36.again. He has got the weight of shot.

:34:37. > :34:40.He flung himself but he was still an inch away from it. A big pass from

:34:41. > :34:56.Ferrer. Wonderful tennis. Coming in cross-court he did allow

:34:57. > :35:15.Ferrer the option of going in down the line. Always risky.

:35:16. > :35:23.He's going to challenge. I think you might be wrong this time. If years,

:35:24. > :35:42.it is break point. This is pretty crucial.

:35:43. > :35:48.He has got the line and he has got the break. Ferrer is going to

:35:49. > :36:11.challenge. What a shot and what it time to

:36:12. > :36:15.produce it. This set is really rising in standard almost game by

:36:16. > :36:18.game. There has been so much drama and excitement. Fantastic tennis as

:36:19. > :36:38.well. Sarah's response has been

:36:39. > :36:59.outstanding. -- Sarah's response. It will be the win of his life, if

:37:00. > :37:10.he gets it. I hope he's not thinking those kind of thoughts right now. He

:37:11. > :37:12.has to stay in the present. It is a cliche but you have to play each

:37:13. > :37:57.point at a time. Ferrer cannot challenge because he

:37:58. > :37:59.is out of challenges. It is not a good position to be in the fifth

:38:00. > :38:25.set. Kuznetsov has volleyed incredibly

:38:26. > :38:29.well throughout the course of the match. No panic, good target, let

:38:30. > :39:13.the court help him. Three games on the spin now for the

:39:14. > :39:19.Russians. He's two games away from a mighty victory. So nice when you can

:39:20. > :40:04.hold as quickly as that. Conserve a bit of energy.

:40:05. > :40:32.There was only a metre under way are away from that and he did not move.

:40:33. > :41:01.-- Ferrer was only a metre away from that.

:41:02. > :41:05.He has been using that shot time and time again to hurt Ferrer. Three

:41:06. > :41:48.break points. Right to go down the line or would

:41:49. > :42:54.you like crosscourt? It is risky. The junior Wimbledon champion five

:42:55. > :42:58.years ago. He has been really in the wilderness. He has found that

:42:59. > :43:03.junction between juniors and seniors very difficult to bridge. This could

:43:04. > :43:09.be the day, this could be the moment. This is the moment he has

:43:10. > :43:14.dreamed off, no question about that. To be playing one of the best

:43:15. > :43:20.players in the world and have an opportunity to beat them over five

:43:21. > :43:24.sets. That is why you spend the rest of your life practising, playing the

:43:25. > :43:29.futures events and the challenges and the qualifiers on the ATP world

:43:30. > :43:35.tour, to get an opportunity to take on the likes of David Ferrer on a

:43:36. > :43:36.court like this. To be just a game away from victory now. It will be

:43:37. > :43:47.hard for him to believe it. How important was the second break?

:43:48. > :45:27.He can be more relaxed. Fantastic! A standing ovation right

:45:28. > :45:37.around Court Number Two. A monumental scrap. And a real shock

:45:38. > :45:47.winner. And it is not just that he did it, but the way that he did it.

:45:48. > :45:55.A player of utter brilliance from Andrey Kuznetsov. That is a lovely

:45:56. > :46:00.smile. This is the biggest win of his career. He did it the hard way,

:46:01. > :46:02.coming back from two sets to one down, and he was injured as well

:46:03. > :46:17.with his Achilles. Of the nominal effort. He had a very

:46:18. > :46:21.specific game plan in mind. He had to keep the rally is no central -- A

:46:22. > :46:36.the nominal effort. Still they applaud. You have to feel

:46:37. > :46:44.for Ferrer. Good that they should go off together. Ferrer, as you would

:46:45. > :46:53.expect, gave it absolutely everything. But it is Andrey

:46:54. > :46:59.Kuznetsov from Russia who has a famous victory, taking out the

:47:00. > :47:03.number seven seed. SUE BARKER: And it would be the

:47:04. > :47:13.third time that Ferrer has failed to reach the third round of a major.

:47:14. > :47:18.That is a big, big shock. It is the first top ten victory for the former

:47:19. > :47:24.junior champion Kuznetsov. What a place to achieve that. What a match.

:47:25. > :47:30.He is through and he will be glad to have a day off after that. He will

:47:31. > :47:32.be facing Leonardo Maher who came through in four sets against Marcos

:47:33. > :47:42.Baghdatis today. Andy Murray had a very comfortable

:47:43. > :47:50.victory out on Court Number One beating Blaz Rola of Slovenia,

:47:51. > :47:52.92nd-ranked player in the world He will place Roberto Bautista Agut in

:47:53. > :48:08.the next round. Straight sets victory as well for

:48:09. > :48:14.Grigor Dimitrov against another former junior champion here, look

:48:15. > :48:23.supple, a qualifier from Australia. -- Luke Southall.

:48:24. > :48:30.This is the match on BBC One for the next ten minutes or so. It will be

:48:31. > :48:36.coming to BBC Two very soon. In the meantime, let's head to court number

:48:37. > :49:04.three to see Victoria Azarenka. She had three set point

:49:05. > :49:51.opportunities in the service game. The former world number one,

:49:52. > :50:02.two-time semifinalist here, very much back in this match. Azarenka

:50:03. > :50:07.played a much better second set Up to her intensity, upped her

:50:08. > :50:13.footwork. The first serve percentage is much better. She seemed to

:50:14. > :50:25.finally time the ball as well as we know she can.

:50:26. > :50:33.She conceded one break of serve in the first set. That was enough for

:50:34. > :50:40.Bojana Jovanovski to take it. She has fought her way back in. We use

:50:41. > :51:05.the Virginia creeper as a backdrop to the stats.

:51:06. > :51:10.Azarenka has stepped up the aggression and intensity. We are

:51:11. > :51:15.keeping a close eye on her because all that has happened to her over

:51:16. > :51:22.the last couple of months, the left foot injury which hampered her

:51:23. > :51:27.defence. This is just her fourth match back since then. She looks

:51:28. > :51:58.strong -- she looked strong in the first round.

:51:59. > :52:52.the heels of Serena. She is now ranked eighth.

:52:53. > :54:34.And Jovanovski really peppering the Azarenka forehand.

:54:35. > :54:56.Terrific ball striking from both players in this point. Azarenka

:54:57. > :54:57.finding the space, going back behind her opponent, something that worked

:54:58. > :55:37.so well for her in that second set. Jovanovski has been a right old

:55:38. > :55:53.fighter out here. She is from Belgrade which has

:55:54. > :55:58.always been home. She has given Azarenka bagful of goblins. As a

:55:59. > :56:03.player on the comeback trail, what are the steps you will be looking

:56:04. > :56:10.out for? When it has been good, it has been really good from Azarenka

:56:11. > :56:15.but she has to find the consistency and she only gets that bike -- you

:56:16. > :56:27.only get that by putting yourself on the line and playing matches.

:56:28. > :56:33.For any player, having spent a few months out of the game, you can

:56:34. > :56:37.practice all you want and play practice sets, but it is never the

:56:38. > :56:42.same as being out there on the match court, feeling the nerves, the

:56:43. > :57:40.tension, the anticipation and the adrenaline.

:57:41. > :57:56.Competition is the best way to find out where you are. By competing by

:57:57. > :58:20.fighting, by working your way through a match.

:58:21. > :58:29.Jovanovski of her own racket has come up with some terrific stunners.

:58:30. > :58:46.Azarenka found herself in No Man's Land after that smash.

:58:47. > :59:25.One break of serve has decided the opening two sets.

:59:26. > :59:29.from our position it looked out It looks as if she will be

:59:30. > :59:47.disappointed. She is. It has been a long and challenging

:59:48. > :59:50.road for Azarenka, the road back from foot injury. It is not getting

:59:51. > :00:04.any easier here. If you want to continue watching it

:00:05. > :00:12.is on the red button, but we are heading back to Centre Court. Novak

:00:13. > :00:16.Djokovic up against Radek Stepanek, who has had a break point in this

:00:17. > :00:17.game as well. Let's join our commentators, John McEnroe and Barry

:00:18. > :00:36.Davies. Cannot get rid of this man,

:00:37. > :00:37.Djokovic. He has been made to battle really hard. Two break points in

:00:38. > :00:41.this game. UMPIRE: The players are ready, thank

:00:42. > :01:05.you. JOHN MCENROE: the serve has been

:01:06. > :01:10.there when he has needed it in this match. It came in handy, there. This

:01:11. > :01:36.has been an extremely hard-fought game.

:01:37. > :02:05.Slicing to survive. And how well he is doing it.

:02:06. > :02:30.Unbelievably, Stepanek, zero, for the match, no aces. That is how

:02:31. > :02:40.tough it is against Djokovic. Three in that game. This crowd is loving

:02:41. > :02:45.it. New balls, please. 3-3, third set.

:02:46. > :02:53.Twice. That's what I thought. Unfortunately it didn't change

:02:54. > :02:59.things. Because I believe that gave Novak the first of two break points,

:03:00. > :03:05.excuse me, Stepanek, the first of two break points. When Novak first

:03:06. > :03:09.looked, he thought it was two bounces, it was not called. He

:03:10. > :03:16.figures he should have made it anywhere, or could have. That was

:03:17. > :03:21.not far from the umpire's... He was right there.

:03:22. > :03:28.But all 's well that ends well, 3-3. Do they have a challenge for that?

:03:29. > :03:56.Two bounces? Maybe they should. The last time this happened it was

:03:57. > :04:00.4-4 in the first set, Stepanek had two break points and served for the

:04:01. > :04:06.set. He lost that game and ended up losing his serve the next game.

:04:07. > :04:11.Similarly hard-fought game where Djokovic, again, held. You better

:04:12. > :04:14.believe he will try to step it up and finish step and it off, here. --

:04:15. > :04:31.finished Stepanek. That is not a bad service. It just

:04:32. > :04:33.shows you that Djokovic, six foot two, so tough to get the ball

:04:34. > :04:53.behind. He ran out of gas, there. He is

:04:54. > :05:38.working really hard. That body served full Djokovic. --

:05:39. > :05:43.fooled. Still made him hit a volley, though. Look at that.

:05:44. > :05:51.Sooner or later, that gets to you. You have to hit so many tough half

:05:52. > :05:55.volleys right at your feet. Two break points for Djokovic.

:05:56. > :06:05.Which might openly route home. - open the route.

:06:06. > :06:26.APPLAUSE Finds one, at last. Yes.

:06:27. > :08:23.That was just one mile an hour short of his fastest serve, a beautiful

:08:24. > :08:25.serve. That was handled by Djokovic. And put Stepanek somehow

:08:26. > :09:09.on the defensive. Well, they couldn't ask for more

:09:10. > :09:15.from their man. He deserved absolute respect.

:09:16. > :09:23.Djokovic desperate. He really wants to get off this Court, get this down

:09:24. > :09:29.in three sets. He senses his opportunity. Step Nick able to get

:09:30. > :09:34.his first ace, his only ace of the match at 15-40 Stepanek. Comfort

:09:35. > :09:40.level as high as anyone on the circuit -- stepper neck label.

:09:41. > :09:48.Novak 's serve the entire match has really allowed him to keep the

:09:49. > :09:58.pressure on stepper neck. Most of the time he is holding

:09:59. > :10:02.rather easily. A couple of times Stepanek has had the chance and he

:10:03. > :10:06.has got to take it. A safer serve up the centre, where you can slice it

:10:07. > :10:11.away from the right-hander. Occasionally kick it up, try to get

:10:12. > :10:14.it out wide to open up the court. When you are serving this

:10:15. > :10:18.consistently, it gives you a lot of options.

:10:19. > :10:29.His percentage has drops. -- has dropped. It was 80, and now a little

:10:30. > :10:36.over 70. UMPIRE: The players are ready, thank you. Again, having to

:10:37. > :11:36.come from behind in this set. He has become more and more

:11:37. > :11:39.confident with his second serve as well. Some pretty good heat, those

:11:40. > :11:47.last two points. No problem, I don't think.

:11:48. > :12:09.Fortunately not. A screamer of a backhand, here. He

:12:10. > :12:12.just got all of it. Took that extra step or two to get behind it, so he

:12:13. > :12:46.could really hit it with some pace. Boris said "what did he say? In

:12:47. > :12:54.Serbian?" He knows what he said feels, been there, done that.

:12:55. > :13:11.He is upping his intensity, as we approach the two hour mark. Stepanek

:13:12. > :13:39.is giving it everything he has got. Djokovic accepting it. He accepted

:13:40. > :13:45.it, after he looked up at his group, to see what they thought. Why not?

:13:46. > :14:23.To see if he can get away with it, absolutely.

:14:24. > :14:49.Oh! Amazing stuff. APPLAUSE Wonderful rally.

:14:50. > :15:18.Unfortunately there, he gave away he was going to hit a half-volley.

:15:19. > :15:23.Stepanek pretending like he didn't know it was out. Mr Stepanek

:15:24. > :15:28.challenging the call. It should be too late, he knew well it was called

:15:29. > :15:33.out. I don't think it will happen. Wait... Oh! It was closer than I

:15:34. > :15:48.thought. The call stands. Mr Stepanek has two

:15:49. > :15:56.challenges remaining. By the barest of margins. Djokovic was moving

:15:57. > :16:07.forward. He had to cut it finer than he wanted to. 0-5, good record.

:16:08. > :16:38.another outstanding volley to help him win that point.

:16:39. > :17:27.Like a broken record, but he does it again.

:17:28. > :17:41.APPLAUSE Game, Stepanek.

:17:42. > :17:47.STUDIO: This match is really getting good, the Centre Court crowd

:17:48. > :17:50.thoroughly enjoying it. We will see Djokovic serve to stay in this third

:17:51. > :17:54.set but let's show you what is happening elsewhere. Matches are

:17:55. > :18:00.available on the red button, if you want to watch them live. Court One,

:18:01. > :18:04.Tomas Berdych has taken the third set in the tie-break, two tie-break

:18:05. > :18:08.sets he has one to go to-1 of the Bernard Tomic of Australia. The

:18:09. > :18:16.former finalist getting back in control of that match. Victoria

:18:17. > :18:19.Azarenka on Court three, she was a break serve down in the third and

:18:20. > :18:27.final set but she has just broken back. That will be a tense finish.

:18:28. > :18:28.Also live on the red button. That is what is happening elsewhere, back we

:18:29. > :18:41.go to Centre. JOHN MCENROE: one of the most

:18:42. > :18:47.outstanding points we have seen today, Stepanek ever the

:18:48. > :18:55.entertainer. The crowd is literally loving every minute of it. He is

:18:56. > :18:57.springing his legs. 35, on he goes. Trying to win a set. Just to get a

:18:58. > :20:00.set. Another minute, maybe, has gone by

:20:01. > :20:02.and Djokovic just about to get the whole, put the pressure right back

:20:03. > :20:30.on Stepanek. -- get the hold. Looks like he kept in the point a

:20:31. > :20:44.little bit, trying to wear him down. -- kept him in.

:20:45. > :20:48.Stepanek taking a little extra time, trying to buy some energy

:20:49. > :21:11.here. That is all you can do as they

:21:12. > :21:15.return, keep putting it at your opponent's feat. Sooner or later it

:21:16. > :21:22.will pay dividends, that is what this guy is telling himself.

:21:23. > :22:12.He took what was given to him and redirected the ball where he wanted

:22:13. > :22:26.it. Moved forward and took it in the air, very well done.

:22:27. > :22:34.Mr Stepanek is challenging the call on the right near sideline, the ball

:22:35. > :22:38.was called out. It is about time he won one.

:22:39. > :22:55.They say he is there a-6 now, it feels about 0-15 -- 0-6.

:22:56. > :23:15.flexibility. The previous ball, Stepanek really dug in to be able to

:23:16. > :23:58.get the forehand back. Great effort. That is some big time hitting,

:23:59. > :24:12.there. Stepanek a lot better at defence

:24:13. > :24:42.than you think. I am not quite sure where that

:24:43. > :24:57.weapon was earlier in the contest. Certainly found it and used it well.

:24:58. > :25:15.Applause first and then a scratch of the head. They can't quite believe

:25:16. > :25:19.how well he has played. He has guaranteed himself at least a

:25:20. > :25:21.tie-break. Given the circumstances, given

:25:22. > :25:25.tie-break. Given the circumstances, his age, and given who he is

:25:26. > :25:31.playing, it is spectacular. Absolutely. Respectable that this

:25:32. > :25:37.guy has found a way to play even better. He came out pretty strong.

:25:38. > :25:42.He had a chance to take the lead at 4-0 first set, didn't capitalise.

:25:43. > :25:47.Djokovic was able to relax and take the second. Stepanek still trying to

:25:48. > :25:52.throw him off. He called his trainer and had a Band-Aid on his cut. It

:25:53. > :25:56.seemed to inspire him to new heights. He has kept it up. Believe

:25:57. > :26:01.me, Djokovic wanted to be in the locker room by now. He has done

:26:02. > :26:06.everything he could to try to do it and yet he has got to regroup right

:26:07. > :26:12.now and stay calm. And say "look, OK, I have still got this thing

:26:13. > :26:18.under control, haven't lost serve. Hold here, win this tie-break and we

:26:19. > :26:20.can all applaud Bob Radek and I can have a big smile on my face --

:26:21. > :26:29.applaud for. Thank you, thank you. Tough on those watching their

:26:30. > :26:40.charge. That serve has worked so well for

:26:41. > :28:20.him to open up the court. Game, Djokovic. He certainly stayed

:28:21. > :28:24.calm, in spite of the error. Absolutely. I didn't expect this at

:28:25. > :28:29.the end of the second set but here we are in a third set tie-break All

:28:30. > :28:34.players will receive one additional challenge.

:28:35. > :30:05.APPLAUSE A great return.

:30:06. > :30:11.A real good chance to take a commanding lead.

:30:12. > :30:19.Got Djokovic to take a bit of a risk, going for more on the second

:30:20. > :30:47.serve. Every shot counts that much more in this tie-break situation.

:30:48. > :30:51.He has nothing on that serve. Certainly did not want to double

:30:52. > :31:46.fault. Djokovic again steadies himself Now

:31:47. > :32:30.he can really take charge here and put this guy away finally.

:32:31. > :32:55.Djokovic has been so tough to read on this.

:32:56. > :33:07.He works hard in the early stages to setup the wide, worked him with

:33:08. > :33:11.that, leans that way. Now he is just hoping, Djokovic, to win one of

:33:12. > :33:28.these two points on Stepanek's serve.

:33:29. > :34:05.The serve hit the line. The timing was slightly off for Djokovic.

:34:06. > :34:12.Good emphasis by the umpire. Just the one point between them. The

:34:13. > :34:52.advantage still with Djokovic. APPLAUSE

:34:53. > :36:10.He just will not go away. Another slip but a controlled one.

:36:11. > :36:45.It is set point for Stepanek. UMPIRE: Thank you, thank you.

:36:46. > :36:58.And he has got it! CHEERING

:36:59. > :37:02.And the crowd have got what they wanted. They just want this to go

:37:03. > :37:23.on. Needless to say, all credit to

:37:24. > :37:28.Stepanek. I cannot believe this guy is still in this match. You talk

:37:29. > :37:36.about finding a way, seemingly impossible odds. This whole set

:37:37. > :37:38.Djokovic wanted this done, get this guy off the court. He has still got

:37:39. > :37:56.to keep playing now. SUE BARKER: Such entertaining

:37:57. > :38:01.tennis. The Centre Court crowd are in for a treat. Let's show you what

:38:02. > :38:07.is happening on Court Number One. Tomas Berdych is serving with two

:38:08. > :38:16.match points against Bernard Tomic. He does it. The former runner-up is

:38:17. > :38:21.through to the third round. Bernard Tomic is fighting his way back from

:38:22. > :38:29.double hip surgery but looks like he's getting back to his best. Over

:38:30. > :38:35.on Court three, a real battle. Victoria Azarenka, now five games

:38:36. > :38:42.all. She was down against Bojana Jovanovski but it is five games all.

:38:43. > :38:45.That match is on the red button Great tennis here late in the

:38:46. > :38:47.evening on the third day of Wimbledon. Here on BBC Two, we are

:38:48. > :38:55.heading back to Centre Court. Novak Djokovic is understandably

:38:56. > :39:52.frustrated that it is not over. He is rattled here. Frustrated and

:39:53. > :40:14.angry with himself. That was well placed. Another fall.

:40:15. > :40:53.But no submission. Here he goes again. I cannot blame

:40:54. > :41:03.him for trying. Sooner or later he will get one right.

:41:04. > :41:11.Now he is claiming he did not challenge.

:41:12. > :42:44.UMPIRE: Mr Stepanek has two challenges remaining.

:42:45. > :42:58.That was well played. There he goes again. I think that he is allowing

:42:59. > :43:08.him to much time to do it, first of all. And he is wrong again. Thank

:43:09. > :43:18.God he is playing better than he is challenging!

:43:19. > :43:25.Quite a contrast, John, the way they came out from their chairs at the

:43:26. > :43:30.start of this set. Stepanek running, Djokovic looking like he

:43:31. > :43:37.had the problems of the world on him. And he pulled it together in

:43:38. > :43:41.the nick of time. He is definitely battling himself at the moment, as

:43:42. > :43:51.much as Stepanek, just to get through this. Insurers.

:43:52. > :44:16.I think Boris is finding it hard work as well. Boris is sat back

:44:17. > :44:23.Please, don't challenge! He has only got one left. This is what he does,

:44:24. > :44:43.he engages people. He gets the opponent a little teed

:44:44. > :47:50.off, shall we say. That will make you more upset.

:47:51. > :47:57.UMPIRE: Game, Stepanek. New balls, please. It continues to be

:47:58. > :48:14.frustrating for Djokovic. Sometimes it feels like he would

:48:15. > :48:17.rather lose serve at 15 or 30 rather than going through the emotional

:48:18. > :48:26.feeling like he should have broken that hasn't. This is part of why he

:48:27. > :48:28.hired a guy like Becker, to make sure that the mind stayed sharp and

:48:29. > :49:41.focused. CHEERING

:49:42. > :49:49.Talk about a flair for the dramatic. This guy is amazing.

:49:50. > :49:53.You think at this stage he may give up on that shot, no. The hustle pays

:49:54. > :50:25.off. He looks up at his crew now and they

:50:26. > :50:33.went even tell him if it is in or out. He is certainly typecast for

:50:34. > :50:46.the role of the injured party. He is out of challenges. He has won one!

:50:47. > :50:48.CHEERING I do not think he should be allowed

:50:49. > :51:49.to look up and ask his people. This is another great return. How he

:51:50. > :51:56.does that, I can't even attempt it, much less make it. Slide into it,

:51:57. > :52:02.put the weight off the back foot, Stepanek even applauded that. I

:52:03. > :52:13.first saw no doubt will do that consistently. -- no.

:52:14. > :52:20.Maybe he has the extra strength in the right arm to allow him to have

:52:21. > :52:25.the ability to hit balls in that position. Now they time it so

:52:26. > :52:33.beautifully. Most 35-year-olds do not get up from this. Not after 2.5

:52:34. > :52:40.fierce hours on Centre Court. This is what he has been waiting for The

:52:41. > :52:45.crowd have been on his side because they just won the match to go all

:52:46. > :52:51.the way. It is really tough Novak Djokovic. You know what it is like

:52:52. > :52:56.to be the number one seed when you just cannot get your opponent to

:52:57. > :53:07.concede. How would you keep your calm? You are asking the wrong

:53:08. > :53:09.person, first of all! He is doing a pretty admirable job for the most

:53:10. > :55:34.part. All these guys do. Stepanek has not deviated from the

:55:35. > :55:42.plan. What is the plan? To be unpredictable. He has succeeded

:55:43. > :55:48.mightily. I think that might be a contradiction in terms, if you don't

:55:49. > :58:02.mind me saying so! That is why he is so difficult to play against.

:58:03. > :58:13.Djokovic for a while has been consistently testing Stepanek,

:58:14. > :58:17.trying to say, in every which way, aren't you getting tired yet? When

:58:18. > :58:22.are you going to start slowing down? You can't keep this up. Usually

:58:23. > :58:28.when you start to get tired, I'm forced errors start to pile up. You

:58:29. > :58:33.start taking chances. For the most part, we have not seen that from

:58:34. > :58:37.Stepanek. He seems to be as physically ready to go as he was

:58:38. > :58:43.when he stepped out onto this court. That is an amazing athlete. I do not

:58:44. > :58:51.know how the guy is doing it. Compared to a hot day on clay or a

:58:52. > :58:56.super-hard -- superhot hard court, you would say it is not as physical,

:58:57. > :59:02.but they have been really going for it, as we approach seven o'clock

:59:03. > :59:05.here in London. Still plenty of bounds. But he is revelling in this.

:59:06. > :59:48.Yes, he is loving this, no doubt. Not the type of point that Djokovic

:59:49. > :00:37.would expect to lose. Stepanek has had an extremely solid

:00:38. > :01:27.service game. He has got Djokovic a bit hunched

:01:28. > :02:28.over. Just muttering to himself A little complacent, could have

:02:29. > :02:30.taken a step closer and found a better angle. He reached a bit and

:02:31. > :03:12.it cost him the point. His serve continues to be there for

:03:13. > :03:42.him. Djokovic leads by 4-3. Look at it

:03:43. > :03:47.this way, as long as I hold SUE BARKER: we will be straight back on

:03:48. > :03:53.Centre Court in a moment, but plenty elsewhere. The number eight seed in

:03:54. > :03:59.the ladies championship, Victoria Azarenka is out beating in the third

:04:00. > :04:04.set. By Jovanovski of Serbia. Two hours and nine minutes. Azarenka

:04:05. > :04:10.only converted three out of 16 break points. She is out. After two

:04:11. > :04:18.semifinal appearances she has gone out for the past two years. The

:04:19. > :04:23.crowd loving it out on Court three. This match was scheduled for Court

:04:24. > :04:28.Two, but it is now on Court Number One. A big smile from Miami Brodie

:04:29. > :04:31.from Britain. She takes on the former world number one Caroline

:04:32. > :04:38.Wozniacki. That match is on the red button -- Naomi Broady.

:04:39. > :04:44.It is just underway. Wozniacki having a break point in the second

:04:45. > :04:51.game of the match. That is how it stands. That is on the red button.

:04:52. > :04:55.On Court Two, Sam Querrey won the first set against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga

:04:56. > :04:59.but Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is up 6- in the second. Also on the red button.

:05:00. > :05:38.That is what is happening elsewhere, back we go to Centre Court.

:05:39. > :05:44.APPLAUSE Stepanek's serve seems to have

:05:45. > :05:50.gotten better and better as this match has progressed. Extremely

:05:51. > :05:51.difficult to do that. He is defying quite a lot of the rules, isn't he?

:05:52. > :06:24.He sure is. Djokovic has been going toe to toe

:06:25. > :06:31.with Stepanek off the ground. Stepanek hits a flatter ball. Maybe

:06:32. > :06:36.if Novak used his ability to create angle and use his spin a bit more,

:06:37. > :06:40.he could get the edge he needs to get Stepanek off, finish him off.

:06:41. > :07:04.Game, Stepanek. Well, I think you would have to

:07:05. > :07:09.argue quite a long time now Stepanek is giving more than he is receiving.

:07:10. > :07:10.He has been the player on top and this fellow has been trying to find

:07:11. > :07:22.his true form. Curious to watch. It is enthralling,

:07:23. > :07:34.but... It is a bit painful, at the same time.

:07:35. > :07:43.He did a good job finding some angle, there. The last time Stepanek

:07:44. > :07:50.won a set was here at Wimbledon two years ago. That was the first set.

:07:51. > :07:55.He was in cruise control after that, Djokovic. Don't forget, career

:07:56. > :08:51.head-to-head, 10-1 in favour of this man.

:08:52. > :09:11.Looks like he will take a run at Djokovic and then runs away, jumps

:09:12. > :09:17.the net. I am surprised he didn t do a handstand on the way to the chair.

:09:18. > :09:32.The last time, the only time, he beat Novak Djokovic... Definitely

:09:33. > :09:34.put in the distance, no doubt. It feels like a whole lot more than

:09:35. > :09:38.13%. Novak was either 18 or 19 at the

:09:39. > :09:55.time, I think 18. To think that eight and a half years

:09:56. > :10:01.later, this guy is still plugging away on the tour, still obviously a

:10:02. > :10:10.threat, one of the worlds warriors. It is why they are such a formidable

:10:11. > :10:13.team. -- one of the world was Mac best warriors. It looks like he has

:10:14. > :10:21.a shot. But at the same time, he is four

:10:22. > :10:55.points from defeat. He has got to hold that. Thank you.

:10:56. > :11:30.way Djokovic moves around the court, that is a high risk play

:11:31. > :12:06.Well, he got away with it. Three good serves.

:12:07. > :12:27.Looks to be about ready to level this set.

:12:28. > :12:45.A great deal of belief from the coaches as well as from this man.

:12:46. > :12:49.His fitness coach has done a heck of a job. Talk about someone who

:12:50. > :13:24.deserves a bonus. The crowd willing Stepanek to take

:13:25. > :13:27.it to a final set. That is tough on drug of itch.

:13:28. > :13:56.He was screaming all the way through the shot.

:13:57. > :14:03.It would have been interesting to see if that had gone in, how

:14:04. > :14:30.Djokovic would have reacted. Having to hit a top volley.

:14:31. > :15:25.Really trying to hold himself together. It's a hard job.

:15:26. > :16:41.Brilliant Oh! , absolutely brilliant.

:16:42. > :16:50.In the circumstances of saving the game, how did he manage that? You

:16:51. > :16:54.have got to watch two of the greatest hits, that is the second

:16:55. > :17:02.one. To win that point, no wonder he is that fired up. Unbelievable.

:17:03. > :17:27.Stepanek has hit some incredible returns.

:17:28. > :17:41.LAUGHTER As one famously said, " what drama,

:17:42. > :17:45.here!" He falls over, look at this! LAUGHTER

:17:46. > :17:49.Comedy! He does have a future as a comedian.

:17:50. > :18:14.APPLAUSE It was out! It was called out, we

:18:15. > :18:18.will see if he challenges. Mr Stepanek is challenging the call on

:18:19. > :18:22.the right baseline. He has only got one, but he will get another one if

:18:23. > :18:31.it comes back. It could have been in. It is in. Replay the point.

:18:32. > :18:35.APPLAUSE Talk about milking this, this guy

:18:36. > :18:45.has turned into inexpert. Getting the crowd his side. -- turned into

:18:46. > :18:49.an expert. Got to be a point replayed. Djokovic has given him the

:18:50. > :19:01.point. What? ! I thought I had seen a lot of

:19:02. > :19:05.things... He has given it to him. Incredible. Amazing piece of

:19:06. > :20:05.sportsmanship. Not the first time in his career,

:20:06. > :20:24.but surely at a pretty extreme point to concede. As he did.

:20:25. > :20:45.A new set of balls. Djokovic leads by 6-5. Stepanek will serve to

:20:46. > :20:48.produce another tie-break. It has turned out to be an absolutely

:20:49. > :20:57.brilliant move. Give the point to him. Stepanek was like "what? ! "

:20:58. > :21:02.Are you kidding me? Are you suggesting if it was the other way

:21:03. > :21:07.around he wouldn't have given it? I am suggesting that 99, 95 out of 100

:21:08. > :21:13.players wouldn't have done that Absolutely right. I would like to

:21:14. > :21:18.see the timing. He felt like it didn't affect his miss. How many...

:21:19. > :21:30.LAUGHTER He ends up on the ground and he even

:21:31. > :21:33.falls funny. Stepanek wasn't the same guy, after. Going to be

:21:34. > :21:36.interesting to see how he comes out and does, to try to take it to

:21:37. > :21:46.another tie-break. Except for these last two sets,

:21:47. > :21:48.Djokovic must feel this is all a nightmare, can't really be

:21:49. > :22:15.happening. It makes it pretty difficult. Tie-break or decision.

:22:16. > :22:38.He is going to challenge, apparently.

:22:39. > :22:41.Tough to time. Djokovic certainly knows how to do that. Right on top

:22:42. > :22:46.of the net. Stepanek really left that line open.

:22:47. > :24:03.Djokovic saw it. APPLAUSE

:24:04. > :24:07.Oh! A good return on their would have given him match point. He is

:24:08. > :24:19.not happy about that, that's for sure. Feeling the pressure.

:24:20. > :24:26.APPLAUSE Game, Stepanek.

:24:27. > :24:49.All players will receive one additional challenge.

:24:50. > :25:28.Got to be something special for Djokovic to win that point. Because

:25:29. > :25:35.that was a good half-volley. For the optimum time, Stepanek hits

:25:36. > :25:58.the deck. -- umpteenth time. APPLAUSE

:25:59. > :26:18.Oh! That is tough. He made that pretty easy shot. He

:26:19. > :26:20.went from one hand to two. He knows he never, ever should have missed

:26:21. > :26:31.that. They just can't believe it, in the

:26:32. > :28:41.crowd. That is called nerves. that was announced the release huge

:28:42. > :28:49.return when he needed it. -- an absolutely. Went just where he

:28:50. > :28:59.wanted it to go. Flexible. Number one seed. Six foot two. Just about

:29:00. > :29:17.to get -- just about enough. He needed that.

:29:18. > :29:35.Djokovic was up 5-2 in the third set. This time he is serving.

:29:36. > :29:43.Stepanek knows he should have put that away. I think he gets bonuses

:29:44. > :31:30.per fall. Finally, Djokovic has got that

:31:31. > :33:12.chance, that match point. It was called out.

:33:13. > :33:24.UMPIRE: Mr Djokovic is challenging the call. Oh, the agony. It is in.

:33:25. > :33:35.The final challenge. And what a challenge was the match. A

:33:36. > :33:42.magnificent performance by the 35-year-old. Djokovic taken all the

:33:43. > :33:57.way and cannot quite believe he has escaped. The relief is on his face.

:33:58. > :34:12.He played his heart out. Did the man from the Czech Republic. He thought

:34:13. > :34:16.he was going to lose in straight sets, fought his way back and was on

:34:17. > :34:23.the brink of taking it to a final set. He deserves all the applause

:34:24. > :34:30.the crowd are giving him. He does not know if he will ever be on this

:34:31. > :34:37.court again. If he never does, what a way to go out. Absolutely. And

:34:38. > :34:43.they are waiting to go together and how fine is that? The number one

:34:44. > :34:52.seed avoids what happened to his coach many moons ago, but he was in

:34:53. > :35:01.a very tough encounter and he will be breathing a huge sigh of relief.

:35:02. > :35:06.It could so easily have gone to a final set. The other man would

:35:07. > :35:10.probably have been the favourite. It is hard to know where to start but

:35:11. > :35:15.one of the ways I will close this out is by saying there are times

:35:16. > :35:21.when it truly is a pleasure to be in this box. This is one of those. This

:35:22. > :35:26.is only a second round match. He had absolutely everything. And you also

:35:27. > :35:50.have a system in place for the players. On match point, when that

:35:51. > :36:00.ball was called out, and right or wrong, admittedly, an honest

:36:01. > :36:05.mistake, but a wrong, nonetheless. I did not imagine Stepanek had the

:36:06. > :36:10.fitness level. I had seen the belief and the character and personality,

:36:11. > :36:12.but I had never seen him go through a match that physical, that

:36:13. > :36:20.demanding and be there until the very last shot. And somehow, he

:36:21. > :36:23.found the extra energy, from a position where it looked as if he

:36:24. > :36:32.was going to go out in straight sets.

:36:33. > :36:40.It is the number one seed who goes through and he can tell how it

:36:41. > :36:49.happened to Li McKenzie. Huge congratulations. It was a real

:36:50. > :36:54.battle of rivals out there today. As soon came out on the court, we want

:36:55. > :36:59.to win against each other. We are friends of the court. We practice a

:37:00. > :37:04.lot. We actually practised six or seven days ago before Wimbledon

:37:05. > :37:08.started. We know each other's games really well. I was two sets up, I

:37:09. > :37:14.had some break point chances in the third, I should have closed it out

:37:15. > :37:20.in a third set tie-break but credit to him for fighting. He is 35 years

:37:21. > :37:24.old but he is moving very well. Surface wise, grass is probably his

:37:25. > :37:29.preferred. He performs really well on the big stages. He loves to

:37:30. > :37:36.engage the crowd. He is an entertainer. It was fun to be part

:37:37. > :37:41.of it but on the other side, I should not have complicated my own

:37:42. > :37:45.life this way, but credit to him for playing well. You were celebrating

:37:46. > :37:53.points in the fourth set, like it was a match win. How much pressure

:37:54. > :37:55.was on new? Knowing that I came to Wimbledon without any official match

:37:56. > :38:02.and the first round match went just over an hour, so I did not have a

:38:03. > :38:06.lot of matchplay and I knew that I was quite focused and intense before

:38:07. > :38:11.the match because I knew what was expecting me the other side of the

:38:12. > :38:14.net. I was aware of his abilities and qualities, especially on the

:38:15. > :38:22.grass. You could see today that he did not give up. He moves well to

:38:23. > :38:26.the net. All in all, it was a difficult one. But glad I stayed

:38:27. > :38:28.hanging there mentally and managed to win the match. Thank you very

:38:29. > :38:39.much, Novak. SUE BARKER: What a match. That is

:38:40. > :38:43.the match of the tournament so far and the number one seed survives.

:38:44. > :38:48.Still some time to go here on BBC to say we are heading over to Court

:38:49. > :38:54.Number One deceit Naomi Broady of Great Britain, wildcard, up against

:38:55. > :39:00.a former world number one Caroline Wozniacki, now ranked 16 in view

:39:01. > :39:02.world. She has won the first set. We can join our commentators, Virginia

:39:03. > :39:12.Wade and Mark Petchey. Broady is a break down at the

:39:13. > :39:28.moment. It has been an incredible effort by

:39:29. > :39:30.the British player. A massive gulf between these two in terms of

:39:31. > :39:42.ranking and experience. She has acquitted herself very well

:39:43. > :39:47.at the net until that. It is so sweet when she gets

:39:48. > :39:54.semi-embarrassing situations. She has a beautiful smile! It has been a

:39:55. > :40:18.pleasure watching, actually. It was just the one break in the

:40:19. > :40:23.opening set. She pushed her illustrious opponent, trying to stay

:40:24. > :40:36.in contention here at the start of the second.

:40:37. > :40:44.That has been the issue for her not being able to get the forehand

:40:45. > :40:47.consistently over and it always goes to the top of the net. A tall girl.

:40:48. > :41:23.Over six foot. She is out hitting her opponent

:41:24. > :41:28.That is the 18th winner. It is the unforced errors that have hit her,

:41:29. > :42:12.just two from Wozniacki, 18 from Broady.

:42:13. > :42:25.Credit for everyone there inside the stadium for Broady and her fighting

:42:26. > :42:31.spirit once again. This is the forehand, she has got nice little

:42:32. > :42:36.footwork back and into the corner. You have been talking about that,

:42:37. > :42:41.Virginia, about down behind the ball. If you watch the

:42:42. > :42:47.follow-through, there is a tendency for this ball to either land short

:42:48. > :42:50.or go into the net is that one did. It feels as though she could -- if

:42:51. > :42:57.she could just drop the racket face, finish over the shoulder, that

:42:58. > :43:01.shot does not need a whole rejig. I could not agree with you more. I do

:43:02. > :43:05.not think there is anything seriously wrong with it. If she

:43:06. > :43:09.could learn to stay with the ball, keep the ball on the racket little

:43:10. > :43:16.bit longer in front of her, but there is something, Caroline has

:43:17. > :43:21.played very well. She has been very consistent. There is something

:43:22. > :43:23.refreshing about watching Naomi Broady and the power has been so up

:43:24. > :43:37.for her. It would be lovely to see her crack

:43:38. > :43:49.a few winners and make this more of a contest.

:43:50. > :44:19.She was just beginning to stay in the point a little bit better,

:44:20. > :44:21.Naomi. You would just like to see her get the forehand like that in

:44:22. > :44:38.and hanging a few more shots. It has been a serving clinic in many

:44:39. > :44:59.ways from Wozniacki. 84% of her first serves have found the target.

:45:00. > :45:08.Wozniacki's pace on the serve is totally respectable. I think in the

:45:09. > :45:12.past we have criticised her for not being able to generate enough miles

:45:13. > :45:51.per hour on her serve for forehand but that serving is good.

:45:52. > :46:27.Makes good inroads into that second serve of Broady.

:46:28. > :46:37.That will bring the house down. They are dying for this match to go on.

:46:38. > :46:38.In the last couple of games there have been some point that she has

:46:39. > :47:11.stayed in much better. You have to think so fast that this

:47:12. > :48:21.level of the game. That is the sort of area where you

:48:22. > :48:25.feel in Wozniacki's game, if she is going to challenge once again for

:48:26. > :48:30.these major titles, she has did take a risk on the return. She is not

:48:31. > :48:38.going to be fortunate against players who feel comfortable in this

:48:39. > :48:46.environment with heavyweight shots. I saw this the other day in another

:48:47. > :48:54.match. I was thinking to Caroline, just go for it, just crack a few,

:48:55. > :48:58.but it does not happen. She has got almost too much body rotation on the

:48:59. > :49:03.forehand side. She can crack it on the backhand side but the body comes

:49:04. > :49:06.through almost ahead of the racket head. You need to get back racket

:49:07. > :49:23.head speed. It has been a great lesson for

:49:24. > :49:30.Broady out here. I know it is a cliche, but for someone ranked

:49:31. > :49:32.outside the world's 160, this has been good for her, an opportunity to

:49:33. > :49:48.take on one of the world's elite. Not to mention the sizeable cheque

:49:49. > :49:57.that will be getting cached, no doubt. She was talking about playing

:49:58. > :50:01.some tournaments when she was so hard up, literally cashing the

:50:02. > :50:08.cheque the next day and then getting the plane to get her ranking up

:50:09. > :50:18.43,000 will sit very nicely. She deserves it.

:50:19. > :50:25.And there was some controversy which beset her when she was 17. She has

:50:26. > :50:26.worked so hard, harder than practically any of the other young

:50:27. > :50:36.tennis players. She has certainly earned a lot of

:50:37. > :51:02.fans here. Every player comes on to court with

:51:03. > :51:07.hopes, expectations, no matter what the overriding odds seem to be

:51:08. > :51:14.against an upset. It looks as though her dreams will be extinguished

:51:15. > :51:39.fairly soon. As you say, Virginia, she has won a number of fans here.

:51:40. > :52:14.The biggest issue I feel for her is stringing the shots together.

:52:15. > :52:56.That was a good shot, but a better response from Wozniacki.

:52:57. > :53:02.whether she was getting any help from her coach, medical treatment or

:53:03. > :53:09.sports psychology, she said she has so much to worry about in her game.

:53:10. > :53:21.She would worry about that secondary.

:53:22. > :53:30.When she have is -- when you have as much power as she does, it is quite

:53:31. > :53:32.hard to resist going for big shots, when you would be better with more

:53:33. > :53:50.cautious shots. She has certainly got into the

:53:51. > :54:49.spirit of things. I would have to say, that the stats

:54:50. > :54:55.would suggest that a break of serve is not on the cards here. We are

:54:56. > :55:01.looking for a miracle, where is it coming from? All I know is that I

:55:02. > :55:06.think I would be correct in saying that Naomi Broady is wanting to stay

:55:07. > :55:11.out on this court longer, because she has really got into the spirit

:55:12. > :55:17.of it. But I do not think it is necessarily in her hands. She has

:55:18. > :55:23.got the power but can she hit balls and get them in the court? But she

:55:24. > :55:42.has enjoyed it. Caroline knows it is a bit of a

:55:43. > :56:47.frivolous atmosphere. That is the way. She has not had too

:56:48. > :56:48.many opportunities to belt a second serve because the first serve

:56:49. > :57:27.percentage has been fantastic. She has a great offensive game, no

:57:28. > :57:30.question about that but the one startling difference between the two

:57:31. > :57:57.is the ability to defend. Four. A fine exponent of the defensive

:57:58. > :58:01.game. Once again, it is another shot from Broady which finds the net

:58:02. > :58:03.Wozniacki with a couple of points here. We will find her in the next

:58:04. > :58:19.round. Just under the hour it took for

:58:20. > :58:22.Wozniacki to end Broady's dreams. It was an enjoyable and counter but the

:58:23. > :58:23.Dane was far too
