:00:55. > :01:13.defence of his Wimbledon title under way.

:01:14. > :01:34.What a perfect start to the defence of his title here at SW19.

:01:35. > :02:07.Murray is romping away with this one now. So good, so easy. The Murray

:02:08. > :02:16.machine rumbles on. No trouble, no fuss.

:02:17. > :02:24.SUE BARKER: It has been a great week for Andy Murray and he has certainly

:02:25. > :02:29.been in the groove as the defence of his Men's Singles title has been

:02:30. > :02:35.flawless so far. He lost to macro games on Wednesday, the least he has

:02:36. > :02:40.conceded in his nine years here We look for a third-round victory today

:02:41. > :02:45.against Spain's Roberto Bautista Agut. The crowds are rising once

:02:46. > :02:49.again. They need warmer clothes and umbrellas today but that will not

:02:50. > :02:54.dampen their enthusiasm. We have seen some thrilling matches on many

:02:55. > :02:59.of the outside courts. It is not just about Centre Court. But if the

:03:00. > :03:04.rain continues here, it may be all we have on Centre Court under the

:03:05. > :03:09.roof. There is Roberto Bautista Agut, Murray's opponent today. He

:03:10. > :03:11.has seven match wins on the grass courts.

:03:12. > :03:14.Agut, Murray's opponent today. He has seven match wins on Grigor

:03:15. > :03:17.Dimitrov also, he is on Court Number One. He will be nervously looking at

:03:18. > :03:25.the weather and hoping he gets on today. Rafael Nadal, no doubt he is

:03:26. > :03:30.smiling. He came through the tricky match yesterday against Lukas

:03:31. > :03:34.Russell. He is not playing today. Novak Djokovic on Centre Court

:03:35. > :03:39.today. What a wonderful match he had against Radek Stepanek. He will be

:03:40. > :03:44.hoping for an easier passage today though. Maria Sharapova did all the

:03:45. > :03:50.hard work yesterday. She is not on match court today. A gentle practice

:03:51. > :03:55.for her. I am delighted to say, the covers are coming off. The rain is

:03:56. > :03:59.moving away. Not starting on time but we are hearing from the

:04:00. > :04:06.referee's office that play is due to get underway around 11:45am. That is

:04:07. > :04:12.good news for those who have queued for long time. The Centre Court

:04:13. > :04:17.covers are coming off as well. Not a rush, a gentle walk across the

:04:18. > :04:21.court. That is great news for those on the outside courts that play is

:04:22. > :04:26.getting underway because we have still got some second-round matches

:04:27. > :04:29.held over from yesterday still to be completed.

:04:30. > :04:43.Hello and welcome to our studio Sound Smith and Tim, you are used to

:04:44. > :04:50.the nervous conditions. It is great if you are on centre but not if you

:04:51. > :04:55.are not. It will be a waiting game. When you have been playing

:04:56. > :05:06.professional tennis all over the world, it happens. You have plenty

:05:07. > :05:13.of space in the locker rooms. We sympathise up on the hill. The

:05:14. > :05:18.forecast has been improving over the last four days. I am sure we will

:05:19. > :05:23.have some action. We will hear about the weather in a moment. It makes it

:05:24. > :05:27.hard to get some practice in. We have been spoiled over the last few

:05:28. > :05:34.weeks for practice. The courts will be different and a bit wet. It is

:05:35. > :05:38.all changing today. It is about managing. Billie Jean King said

:05:39. > :05:50.champions adjust. Probably hear you have to make more adjustments than

:05:51. > :05:53.any other. Is that right? I think so. It is not easy. You have got to

:05:54. > :05:56.control the things you can control. You have to adjust. If your practice

:05:57. > :06:03.time has to be put back, so be it. There is not much point worrying

:06:04. > :06:07.about it. There are some matches held over from yesterday. We have to

:06:08. > :06:14.catch up but we are not in a panic stage yet. Obviously those players,

:06:15. > :06:18.Simona Halep is one of those still in the second round, it is about

:06:19. > :06:25.managing and not getting too stressed out about it. If you have

:06:26. > :06:29.good people around you, and if you are a big name, you should do, they

:06:30. > :06:36.will help you deal with that. It is about muddling through. Some days

:06:37. > :06:39.you have perfect preparation but other days nothing goes right and

:06:40. > :06:45.you cannot get on the courts and then you play great, so who knows.

:06:46. > :06:50.In Paris they did not have great weather for the French Open. Anyway,

:06:51. > :06:59.play is getting underway very soon. Let's see who we can look forward to

:07:00. > :07:03.this afternoon. Andy Murray has won his last 15 matches at the All

:07:04. > :07:08.England Club. He will be looking to extend his run on Centre Court this

:07:09. > :07:13.afternoon. It is more than five years since

:07:14. > :07:18.Novak Djokovic failed to reach the fourth round of a Grand Slam. The

:07:19. > :07:24.top seed is on Centre Court today against Joel Simon.

:07:25. > :07:30.Queens winner Grigor Dimitrov looks supreme on a grass court. -- Gilles

:07:31. > :07:36.Simon. He will have to be sharp against Alexandr Dolgopolov.

:07:37. > :07:44.Petra Kvitova is one of four ex-champions and she will be playing

:07:45. > :07:48.another in Venus Williams. Second seed Li Na also has the

:07:49. > :07:53.fourth round in her sights and has not dropped a set so far. The

:07:54. > :08:01.two-time grand slam champion will be opening proceedings on Court One.

:08:02. > :08:08.We want you to get in touch with us. You can in many ways. You can tweak

:08:09. > :08:15.us, you can contact us via our Facebook page. All the details are

:08:16. > :08:24.on the BBC Four website. -- the BBC sport website.

:08:25. > :08:28.Let's go to Carol. It is nice to see the covers coming off but I suspect

:08:29. > :08:37.they will be going on and off all the time. Today, we are looking at a

:08:38. > :08:42.showery picture for some of the day. Between one and three o'clock you

:08:43. > :08:46.can expect some heavy showers. As we head on after three o'clock, things

:08:47. > :08:53.will improve. The showers diminish and then the sun will come out,

:08:54. > :08:58.leading to a lovely dry evening Temperatures up to 19, possibly 20

:08:59. > :09:05.Celsius. By the end of the evening it will feel quite pleasant. The

:09:06. > :09:10.other good thing about today is the pollen levels have come down. We are

:09:11. > :09:14.looking at moderate so that is some relief for those of us who have an

:09:15. > :09:23.allergy to grass pollen. I know you do, Carol. We will find out what

:09:24. > :09:31.will happen tomorrow. Tomorrow, we are all so at risk of showers. As we

:09:32. > :09:35.head into the beginning of next week, things looked like it will

:09:36. > :09:41.settle down. We will have some sunshine around and things will be

:09:42. > :09:46.pretty hunky-dory. Nice to finish on some good news. Hunky-dory is

:09:47. > :09:53.perfect! This is the scene here getting ready for play. Let's look

:09:54. > :10:00.to Andy Murray's second-round match where he was in no trouble at all.

:10:01. > :10:01.He took it on Court Number One. He was up against Blaz Rola. Let's take

:10:02. > :10:18.a look at how he did. This should be a good one. Blaz Rola

:10:19. > :10:25.has admired Andy Murray for some time and now he gets a chance to

:10:26. > :10:34.down the defending champ. Straight, Murray takes the initiative. There

:10:35. > :10:42.it is, a double break for Andy Murray. Too hot for Blaz Rola to

:10:43. > :10:49.handle. That will do for Andy Murray. In this second set, Andy

:10:50. > :10:56.Murray is romping away with this now.

:10:57. > :11:10.Murray is flying here on Court Number One. So good, so easy. Murray

:11:11. > :11:14.better in every department. As comprehensive victory as you are

:11:15. > :11:20.likely to see. The Murray rumbles on.

:11:21. > :11:29.He was on court for less than an hour and a half. Everything was

:11:30. > :11:33.working for him. He seemed very relaxed. I saw him wondering down

:11:34. > :11:40.the interview area and it seemed all was well in his world. He says he is

:11:41. > :11:45.feeling less pressure. We all are. No doubt about that. He has also had

:11:46. > :11:50.a lot of problems with his back having surgery last year. Tim,

:11:51. > :11:55.you're closer to Andy than I am I get a sense that his back is feeling

:11:56. > :11:59.a lot better. Anyone who has had a bad back knows if you are trying to

:12:00. > :12:04.play any sports and trying to play at a hard level, it is nagging you.

:12:05. > :12:12.It is like toothache, they're all the time and clouds every practice

:12:13. > :12:15.session. He seems to be much freer in his body when he moves on the

:12:16. > :12:19.backhand and the back is a lot better. I think that is changing

:12:20. > :12:24.everything for him. You pointed out after his first-round match that it

:12:25. > :12:30.was equally impressive. It did not seem as if there was much opposition

:12:31. > :12:36.against Blaz Rola. That is a good barometer, his backhand. And where

:12:37. > :12:41.he is hitting it. Looking to get up the court and when he can really

:12:42. > :12:48.dictate and flatten out the backhand. There he goes crosscourt.

:12:49. > :12:53.He is within a yard of the baseline and looking to be aggressive because

:12:54. > :12:57.I think sometimes when he is reactive and he lets his opponent to

:12:58. > :13:03.the dictating, that is when he can struggle. Inside the court, it gives

:13:04. > :13:14.him so many options. He is so tough to read as well. All the young kids

:13:15. > :13:20.going up will want to copy Agassi's backhand and a lot of kids will copy

:13:21. > :13:25.Murray's backhand. If you compare to how he was in the Davis Cup in Italy

:13:26. > :13:29.a few months ago, there was no way he was rotating as much. He did not

:13:30. > :13:35.look is free. It looks as if his body is OK now. That is the key

:13:36. > :13:42.issue having trust in your body playing at this level. There is the

:13:43. > :13:46.physical aspect of having to make the right movements. When you have

:13:47. > :13:51.played in pain as he has done for a number of years, that almost becomes

:13:52. > :13:55.ingrained mentally. When you are making movements, you expect it to

:13:56. > :13:58.hurt. When he came back from surgery it has taken a long time to get the

:13:59. > :14:00.confidence that almost becomes ingrained mentally. When you are

:14:01. > :14:11.making movements, you expect it to hurt. When he came back from surgery

:14:12. > :14:16.it has taken a long time to get I think the French Open was a big

:14:17. > :14:21.stepping stone for him. He lost to Rafa and he lost easily but most

:14:22. > :14:28.people do on clay against him in five sets. That has given him a good

:14:29. > :14:35.foundation. He has looked very good. Long may that continue. We saw in

:14:36. > :14:38.the stats how dominant he has been and you would expect that against a

:14:39. > :14:44.player ranked 90 in the world but of course it will get a lot tougher. I

:14:45. > :14:49.have to confess when I saw the name Bautista Agut I had to look at the

:14:50. > :14:56.picture in the media guide. That is a shame because he is a top 30

:14:57. > :14:58.player. He is having a great tournament. There seemed to be so

:14:59. > :15:03.many of the Spaniards with double names that they get lost out there.

:15:04. > :15:08.I think it would be easy for someone like me, irony should know who he

:15:09. > :15:16.is, to think, this will just be rolling over. -- I really should

:15:17. > :15:21.know who he is. He is very confident and he has had a good year. He has

:15:22. > :15:27.played well in some big tournaments. He won last week. He has quite an

:15:28. > :15:31.unorthodox game. He hits the ball quite flat, especially for a

:15:32. > :15:39.Spaniard. His two-handed backhand, there is almost an element of slice.

:15:40. > :15:45.He moves well and competes incredibly well. There will be a lot

:15:46. > :15:49.of people who will be looking at this name on the back of Blaz Rola

:15:50. > :15:53.and thinking Murray will cruise through but I think Andy knows all

:15:54. > :16:01.the players and he will know that this will be a stern test. Still, do

:16:02. > :16:05.expect him to come through. He was 73 at the start of the year, he has

:16:06. > :16:12.gone up the rankings 50 places into the top 30 said not surprising that

:16:13. > :16:42.you did not know him. Let's find out who he is. Let's hear from him.

:16:43. > :16:49.Is there an main reason why you are playing so well? I feel fit, I feel

:16:50. > :16:58.good physically. I had some problems last year. This year I can play

:16:59. > :17:03.tournaments I have in the schedule. Everything is good this year. It's

:17:04. > :17:06.great to be in good shape to face Andy Murray. I understand you know a

:17:07. > :17:15.little bit about him from practising. We had the chance to

:17:16. > :17:27.practice. It is going to be a difficult match. Andy is a good

:17:28. > :17:31.player on grass. I will play my game and be focused. I understand when

:17:32. > :17:36.you are practising with Andy, occasional chats about football We

:17:37. > :17:43.have the chance to talk and chat about soccer. He had the chance to

:17:44. > :17:48.go to a soccer game in Valencia We were talking about that. You are a

:17:49. > :17:51.skilled footballer yourself and you played for Villarreal up until the

:17:52. > :18:02.age of 14? Yellow macro I would also like to be a footballer. To do

:18:03. > :18:06.everything together is impossible. The Spaniards do not have much to

:18:07. > :18:20.cheer about in football but maybe in tennis? I hope that they will be

:18:21. > :18:26.cheering for me in the next round. He will have a few fans out there

:18:27. > :18:32.but he -- they will be outnumbered on Centre Court. He is learning but

:18:33. > :18:36.he is having his best year of his career so far. When you are

:18:37. > :18:41.confident you have a whole different feel approaching the match, don t

:18:42. > :18:46.you? He can go out there and swing and that will make him dangerous.

:18:47. > :18:49.The big players like Andy have a massive advantage going out on one

:18:50. > :18:54.of the show courts because they are used to it. Andy is making it his

:18:55. > :18:59.backyard. For a lower ranked player, I think it takes effect

:19:00. > :19:03.really to settle down and get used to the depth perception, the feeling

:19:04. > :19:08.of being on the court. Also, you have the added pressure of the crowd

:19:09. > :19:12.which is not going to with you. There is a lot for him to get used

:19:13. > :19:18.to. Not so much in the men's but in the women's, if you drop the first

:19:19. > :19:23.set, you are highly likely to lose the match. It will be interesting to

:19:24. > :19:30.see how he settles down. Having not played on that many, having stood in

:19:31. > :19:34.his shoes a bit, going on the show courts against big players, I can

:19:35. > :19:37.tell you if you first set you all over the place. You have been there

:19:38. > :19:42.at the top player with lower ranked players coming on to your Centre

:19:43. > :19:50.Court, you are a set up, aren't you? You would like to think you are but

:19:51. > :19:53.it does very much highlight the importance of how they get off and

:19:54. > :19:57.we were commentating on Gilles Muller last night and there's couple

:19:58. > :20:01.of service games, to establish yourself and get a chance to settle

:20:02. > :20:06.down, I think the problem for Bautista Agut is he does not have a

:20:07. > :20:11.big weapon. He does a lot of things well but he can look to get cheap

:20:12. > :20:15.points on his serve. And he returns very well. That is where Andy will

:20:16. > :20:22.be looking to have an impact later on, to stamp his authority and make

:20:23. > :20:28.Bautista Agut's life difficult. He is not a typical Spaniard with a big

:20:29. > :20:38.heavy top-spin, that is perhaps why he is doing well. No weapons. But

:20:39. > :20:43.incredibly efficient. I commentated on him last year when he played

:20:44. > :20:50.David Ferrer on Court Number One. He got a set off him? Yes, he is a

:20:51. > :20:55.great athlete who moves well. He hits the ball flat. And effective

:20:56. > :21:00.because he won last week. His confidence is a massive part of this

:21:01. > :21:05.sport. When you look at this banishment Halliday led by Rafa at

:21:06. > :21:17.the top, they compete so well. They give nothing away, they play point

:21:18. > :21:29.after point. -- if you look at the Spanish mentality led by Rafa. Here

:21:30. > :21:36.are a list of players he has beaten. There are some good grass players

:21:37. > :21:42.there. Benjamin Becker is good. Nicolas Mahut has had some

:21:43. > :21:45.interesting matches here. It is bizarre when you talk about some of

:21:46. > :21:50.the recent winners on grass. You had Lopez getting to the final of

:21:51. > :21:57.Queens, a Spaniard. Rafa plays well on every surface. I think it shows

:21:58. > :22:03.their mentality. Going back ten or 15 years it was just Spanish players

:22:04. > :22:07.could only play on clay. Now they have realised that their skills can

:22:08. > :22:12.transfer to other surfaces. They play well on hard courts. Ferrer has

:22:13. > :22:18.won on grass before. You will never take a Spanish player likely. Andy

:22:19. > :22:23.is on court against Roberto later on. This is him leaving practice. He

:22:24. > :22:26.came here early today to get his practice out of the way. He may not

:22:27. > :22:32.be on until five or six o'clock tonight. I think he would have liked

:22:33. > :22:37.to have got hit on grass. That is why he is here early. If there are

:22:38. > :22:42.delays or long match, he can go to the indoor courts and hit balls for

:22:43. > :22:48.ten or 15 minutes to get his feet moving, feel his ball on the

:22:49. > :22:51.strings. It is preparing for all eventualities today. This is his

:22:52. > :23:13.quarter. There are some tricky matches to get

:23:14. > :23:19.through. Anderson and Fognini are tough. They have got huge serves.

:23:20. > :23:25.The courts will start to harden up as they are played on. Dolgopolov

:23:26. > :23:29.has been playing pretty well. He has had some problems with injuries

:23:30. > :23:35.There are some guys you never quite know. What Tim was saying about

:23:36. > :23:39.Spaniards and grass, since Rafa has done so well on the grass, it is no

:23:40. > :23:45.longer acceptable for them to come over for a day trip and then push

:23:46. > :23:50.off back to Spain! The courts have slowed down a little as well which

:23:51. > :23:55.has helped with the bounce but they feel that they should be doing well

:23:56. > :23:59.on grass and there has been a whole mental shift and I think that has

:24:00. > :24:05.made a whole mental shift and I think that has made whole

:24:06. > :24:14.competition. Bautista Agut is a fantastic player. He is the Spanish

:24:15. > :24:21.in the six or something. He can see what the other ones are doing. That

:24:22. > :24:26.is part of their tennis tradition. That is what we have got to try and

:24:27. > :24:31.replicate. We have to get some players competing in the biggest and

:24:32. > :24:35.best tournament so they can have those internal rivalries and improve

:24:36. > :24:39.the standards. Here we are on day five and it is all about Andy. I

:24:40. > :24:45.know Tim loves me doing this when we look further ahead into the drawer

:24:46. > :24:49.so I am going to do that! Andy could meet Grigor Dimitrov in the

:24:50. > :24:55.quarterfinals. There has already been a bit of rivalry between team

:24:56. > :25:00.Murray and team dinner trough because Grigor Dimitrov's coach

:25:01. > :25:04.challenged Jazz Green who is Andy's fitness trainer to a race. This is

:25:05. > :25:20.what happened. It all went back to the Australian

:25:21. > :25:28.Open. We have chosen this is our feature event. I am going with Roger

:25:29. > :25:35.Rashid, a former fellow player. He will take it in the 200 metres.

:25:36. > :25:44.Something that we can laugh a little bit. It is exciting in the same

:25:45. > :25:52.time. Andy can come along and support all that. I want to crush

:25:53. > :25:59.the opposition. I wish I was taking on Andy, to be perfectly honest I

:26:00. > :26:02.was nervous last night. I slept and watched a little bit of Usain Bolt

:26:03. > :26:08.and tried to get some similar techniques. I do it for the kids in

:26:09. > :26:15.my foundation which is pretty cool. Good luck. I am sure you will do

:26:16. > :26:29.well. I cannot believe there are this many people here.

:26:30. > :27:15.Pour Jez! He got awful stick when he challenged Evander Lendl in the gym

:27:16. > :27:26.and he lost that battle basher Ivan Lendl. Roger is a fit coach. He is.

:27:27. > :27:30.I would love to have seen him lose. He can talk underwater. They look

:27:31. > :27:35.like he will have the bragging rights for a while! It is nice to

:27:36. > :27:44.see how the players get on so well. Record and Andy get on. Why

:27:45. > :27:48.shouldn't they? What really sparks and is there are always little games

:27:49. > :27:59.and competitions between individuals and in the team. They have always

:28:00. > :28:02.got lots of things going on. A good atmosphere. When you are travelling

:28:03. > :28:07.the world and you're in each other's pockets for 35 weeks of the

:28:08. > :28:11.year, you want to be having fun And he has a big team around him. It is

:28:12. > :28:19.good that they interact with the other guys, they are practising

:28:20. > :28:21.together and go out for dinner as well. They get that great atmosphere

:28:22. > :28:24.and helps everyone. Roger Rashid is turning dinner trough into

:28:25. > :28:31.physically a much stronger player. That is what he does. -- he is

:28:32. > :28:36.turning Grigor Dimitrov into a much stronger player. Mentally and

:28:37. > :28:41.physically he is looking to mature. He has worked with Lleyton Hewitt,

:28:42. > :28:48.Tsonga and Gael Monfils. He has experience on the main tour. He is

:28:49. > :28:52.doing a very good job. If that match were to happen in the quarters, it

:28:53. > :28:59.would be a great one to watch. Absolutely. As Carol said, the

:29:00. > :29:02.weather is clearing, although there could be a few showers later on

:29:03. > :29:07.today. There could be some interruptions but the good news is,

:29:08. > :29:17.the covers are off and the sun is coming out. Play will get underway

:29:18. > :29:21.very soon. Players are making their way out onto some of the courts so

:29:22. > :29:28.that is great news. On Centre Court, no worries because they will have

:29:29. > :29:31.the roof on. The second match is a fascinating encounter between Petra

:29:32. > :29:36.Kvitova and Venus Williams, both former champions so they know how to

:29:37. > :29:42.win here. Phil Jones has been looking at the match up.

:29:43. > :29:47.The first Friday, the first collision of champions. On one

:29:48. > :29:52.side, Venus Williams, on the other, 2011 winner Petra Kvitova. It is the

:29:53. > :29:57.biggest face-off of week one. Only one can survive in two-week two I

:29:58. > :30:07.like watching a contest where I have no idea who will win. All the

:30:08. > :30:08.matches have been tough. I think it will be a great fight. I know I have

:30:09. > :30:19.to play better than her. Venus missed Wimbledon last year

:30:20. > :30:31.with a debilitating injury. Two more matches won in a year of two more

:30:32. > :30:36.title triumphs. We could witness a champion's last hoorah. She feels so

:30:37. > :30:41.much more confident because her game is perfectly suited to grass.

:30:42. > :30:46.Kvitova has made the quarterfinals here for the last four years. Her

:30:47. > :30:50.title success in 2011 remains her only Grand Slam crown. A record

:30:51. > :30:56.perhaps not best befitting a left-hander of such power and

:30:57. > :30:59.presence. Quite frankly, she's underachieved since 2011, since she

:31:00. > :31:03.won here and was the Wimbledon Champion. At that time, a lot of

:31:04. > :31:17.people were thinking OK, 2012, she will take the tennis world by storm.

:31:18. > :31:22.Last year, 2013, she was known as "threat-set Petra". She leads the

:31:23. > :31:26.head-to-head history 3-1. Each match has gone three sets showing they

:31:27. > :31:30.push each other all the way. In the final analysis, might it come down

:31:31. > :31:34.to the survival of the fittest? She's been taped every match but she

:31:35. > :31:35.says she is feeling fine. I don t think that we will know, I don't

:31:36. > :31:37.think she will know until she think that we will know, I don't

:31:38. > :31:43.think she will know until goes out there. It is a match that I can t

:31:44. > :31:47.pick because so much of it depends on Petra's serves and her nerve

:31:48. > :31:51.whether she is serving big and dominating, and whether she handles

:31:52. > :31:55.her nerves and stays calm. When I watch a tennis match, that is what

:31:56. > :32:00.makes it exciting, when I go in and don't have any idea about who is

:32:01. > :32:07.going to win. They are both former champions. Venus's illness, will she

:32:08. > :32:11.have the stamina to play well? Petra is so hot and cold. The way that

:32:12. > :32:15.they handle the situation playing at the All England Club, both former

:32:16. > :32:22.champions, playing another champion. There's a lot of interest in this

:32:23. > :32:26.match. A mouth-watering match awaits us and is a day when Wimbledon

:32:27. > :32:34.Champions collide. That is one to look forward to, Sam? Very much so.

:32:35. > :32:41.From Kvitova, I know she's had the leg strapping. It is healing as the

:32:42. > :32:45.days go by. For Venus, with the illness that she has, she doesn t

:32:46. > :32:49.know how she is going to wake up each day. She has changed her diet

:32:50. > :32:53.and she has done everything she can. This year, she's looked a lot

:32:54. > :33:01.healthier, she's played a lot better. She won a title in Dubai.

:33:02. > :33:05.So, they should both be coming in ready to go and Kvitova, I watched a

:33:06. > :33:14.couple of her matches, she is in good form. Venus had that

:33:15. > :33:19.auto-immune disease years ago. It's been incredible that she has been

:33:20. > :33:28.able to keep going, getting far into a Grand Slam tournament? With the

:33:29. > :33:38.Williams sisters, the best mantra about them is you never know. They

:33:39. > :33:42.are very, very unpredictable. I think we know that Venus will throw

:33:43. > :33:45.everything at this match because I have a feeling that this is the

:33:46. > :33:50.place that she most loves to play. It is the place that she talks about

:33:51. > :33:54.with the most affection. She has so many great memories here and this is

:33:55. > :33:58.what keeps her going. Eight times in the final and she's won five. Let's

:33:59. > :34:03.have a look at that bottom part of the draw.

:34:04. > :34:11.Li Na at the bottom, she is the number-two seed. In some ways it is

:34:12. > :34:23.a shame they are meeting this early. That is going to count against her.

:34:24. > :34:28.You never know with Venus or Serena when they can pull something out.

:34:29. > :34:34.How do you feel about it, Tim? With Kvitova and Williams, they are

:34:35. > :34:38.similar builds, they are tall girls, they both like to dictate play. It

:34:39. > :34:44.will come down to who serves well, who hits the spots, who can dictate

:34:45. > :34:48.play and I think given the nature of grass court tennis, the winner of

:34:49. > :34:53.that match has a good chance of progressing. They also have the

:34:54. > :34:57.experience going into the second week. So I would like to see Venus

:34:58. > :35:00.progress. She has dealt with a lot of adversity. She is a great

:35:01. > :35:05.champion here. It would be fun to see her go on a good run. They are

:35:06. > :35:12.in the doubles as well. Talk about the injury with Kvitova. She's only

:35:13. > :35:16.lost five games in two matches, so the strapping is more prevention?

:35:17. > :35:22.Exactly. She has looked extremely smooth. The last two went to 7- in

:35:23. > :35:26.the final set and there was one in Doha which was a huge match - Venus

:35:27. > :35:30.had some match-points as well. We will be sitting back surprised if it

:35:31. > :35:35.isn't close. They both serve so well and also Venus is a great returner

:35:36. > :35:38.as well and doesn't have any problems returning the lefty's

:35:39. > :35:42.serve. Be prepared to have a comfortable chair for that one.

:35:43. > :35:46.Yeah. Also, with the head-to-head, it is 3-1 in favour of Kvitova. But

:35:47. > :35:50.all have gone to three sets. We could be in for a tasty one. A

:35:51. > :35:54.comment about Heather Watson yesterday and her performance

:35:55. > :36:00.against Angelique Kerber, who is a tough player? I have always enjoyed

:36:01. > :36:07.watching Heather. It was frustrating last year when she had injury. We

:36:08. > :36:12.talked about it with other players - she is confident, she's played a lot

:36:13. > :36:15.of good matches. She was in the semis in Eastbourne last week and

:36:16. > :36:19.she was up against it for a lot of the match. She hung in well

:36:20. > :36:24.yesterday and it would have been a great experience for her. She will

:36:25. > :36:27.be disappointed she lost. Sometimes these experiences are the ones that

:36:28. > :36:32.you need to motivate you to keep pushing on. There is a lot more left

:36:33. > :36:38.in her game to get her ranking back where she was before. She's had a

:36:39. > :36:43.great year. As Tim said, she's fit now, she is healthy now, but Kerber

:36:44. > :36:46.is a tough cookie and coming off Eastbourne, being in the final, she

:36:47. > :36:52.came in very confident and she runs everything down? Kerber has had some

:36:53. > :36:56.injuries but she's hit form. She is one of the toughest nuts to crack in

:36:57. > :37:01.women's tennis. She is a great mover. She makes a lot of balls She

:37:02. > :37:04.has an offensive game as well. Anything short or middle of the

:37:05. > :37:08.court, she will hurt you. I was lucky enough to sit out there and

:37:09. > :37:15.watch the whole match yesterday and Heather Watson has improved so much.

:37:16. > :37:20.And Heather identified exactly where - not where it went wrong with her -

:37:21. > :37:24.but what she needs to do to beat a player like Kerber which is start

:37:25. > :37:29.with much greater intensity. It took her a little while to get going

:37:30. > :37:39.They may well have been going on to Centre. And then... Walking out

:37:40. > :37:43.after the Rafa result... There was a lack of atmosphere, the energy was

:37:44. > :37:47.sucked out. It was getting used to the dimensions of the court. The

:37:48. > :37:51.second set, she invested an enormous amount in it. By the end of the

:37:52. > :37:55.match, she was a little spent. Physically and mentally, and really

:37:56. > :38:01.Heather, for me, I saw the level is there but it is maintaining it over

:38:02. > :38:05.that two-hour period against one of the best players in the world. We

:38:06. > :38:09.know she can do it for a set, maybe a set-and-a-half. It is taking the

:38:10. > :38:16.conditioning up to the next level, playing more top ten players, which

:38:17. > :38:22.she will do as the ranking goes up. Heather has made so many gains, but

:38:23. > :38:29.there are still lots of areas to work on. She needs to get into the

:38:30. > :38:32.top 50 now. Then onward and upward. Sam, Tim, thank you very much. We

:38:33. > :38:36.have some tennis going on outside. So we are heading there in a moment.

:38:37. > :38:41.Let's have a look at the order of play on the two show courts:

:38:42. > :39:01.It is Novak Djokovic first up against Gilles Simon.

:39:02. > :39:10.I love this - this is probably the longest name in the draw against the

:39:11. > :39:15.shortest - Barbora Zahlavova Strycova against Li Na! I thought

:39:16. > :39:20.that would get a round of applause! Sam, you have a go? Barbora

:39:21. > :39:24.Zahlavova Strycova! Well done. Am I going to get a go? Go on. The young

:39:25. > :39:49.Czech girl! This is the scene on the outside

:39:50. > :39:57.courts. We are all going and Caroline Wozniacki is back out there

:39:58. > :40:09.against Ana Konjuh. If you want to watch that, you can on the Red

:40:10. > :40:13.Button. We are going to Court 2 to see Simona Halep against Lesia

:40:14. > :40:24.Tsurenko of Ukraine. That is the match we are going to drop in on now

:40:25. > :40:32.and we can join Anne Keathovong and Barry Davies.

:40:33. > :40:46.BARRY DAVIES: She takes the opening game against her more vaunted

:40:47. > :40:51.opponent. Alongside me is Anne. And Simona Halep will have drawn several

:40:52. > :40:56.people here after her performance in Paris and her performance in the

:40:57. > :41:02.year 2013 prior to that. You don't often win six titles in your first

:41:03. > :41:05.four years but she managed to do that and has carried it on. It is

:41:06. > :42:18.her fourth appearance here at Wimbledon.

:42:19. > :42:25.ANNE KEOTHAVONG: Simona Halep has a very good all-court game. But she

:42:26. > :42:39.says her serve is her favourite shot.

:42:40. > :42:44.She's prepared to trade shots from the back of the court. That may wear

:42:45. > :43:03.her down in the end against Halep. Her favourite shot comes up with the

:43:04. > :43:06.first ace. Simona Halep has been one of the most exciting players to

:43:07. > :43:14.watch over the last 12 months. Her rise up the rankings has been quite

:43:15. > :44:15.spectacular. She is sitting at number three in the world right now.

:44:16. > :45:08.That's fabulous tennis from Simona Halep. Not easy to create the angle

:45:09. > :45:38.that she did off that backhand, opening up the court for herself.

:45:39. > :45:45.A very creditable start by a player ranked down at 170. She has dropped

:45:46. > :45:58.a lot this year from turning the year in the position of 70.

:45:59. > :46:04.SUE BARKER: Let's show you Caroline Wozniacki. She is under way now 2-1

:46:05. > :46:11.she leads against the 16-year-old. That match is on the Red Button on

:46:12. > :46:15.Court 3. If you are also wanting to check out a potential opponent for

:46:16. > :46:19.Andy Murray, providing he gets through today, in the next round he

:46:20. > :46:27.would face the winner of Kevin Anderson and Fabio Fognini, so they

:46:28. > :46:33.are on Court 17, early stages there. So Red Button, that is on the Red

:46:34. > :46:35.Button and the camera will stay on Fognini. We are heading back to

:46:36. > :46:47.Court 2. ANNE KEOTHAVONG: There is Simona

:46:48. > :46:52.Halep's team, on the right of your picture there is her Belgian coach.

:46:53. > :47:39.She's been working with him since February.

:47:40. > :47:56.BARRY DAVIES: A couple of easy points.

:47:57. > :48:50.She made that look a lot easier than it was, Halep.

:48:51. > :49:02.That's a pretty useful forehand that her opponent has. Lesia Tsurenko is

:49:03. > :49:08.a very flat ball striker from the back of the court. Give her time and

:49:09. > :49:10.she will step in. She was ranked as high as 60 in July last year. She

:49:11. > :49:35.can play. big strike in whenever she can

:49:36. > :50:26.against Halep, to try and take the initiative out here.

:50:27. > :50:41.An early change of racket. Just looking back - 2010, she was playing

:50:42. > :50:48.in the first round and losing love and one to Samantha Stosur. What a

:50:49. > :50:53.climb up the rankings? It has been an incredible 12 months for Simona

:50:54. > :51:00.Halep. She was a successful junior, number one in the world in 2008

:51:01. > :51:08.Yes. And won the Junior Championship at Roland Garros. That's right.

:51:09. > :51:14.It took Simona Halep more time than some of the others to make that

:51:15. > :51:16.transition from the junior to the senior game. She has made up for

:51:17. > :51:28.lost time, that's for sure. That is a smart serve from Lesia

:51:29. > :52:23.Tsurenko. SUE BARKER: 3-2 she leads. We are

:52:24. > :52:35.going to take you to Court 8 and show you what happened in a doubles

:52:36. > :52:43.match. I don't think her partner was expecting that. These women hit the

:52:44. > :52:50.ball, they serve at 100mph, so, boy, did that hurt! She needed a bit of

:52:51. > :52:54.time to recover so went to the chair. And then the tears came.

:52:55. > :53:07.Sportingly, the opponents allowing her to have a bit of time to

:53:08. > :53:10.recover. We will see that again That's a first serve right in the

:53:11. > :53:16.back of the head. That was a short time ago. Play has resumed and there

:53:17. > :53:22.is Monica now. It is early stages of that match. She is back playing no

:53:23. > :53:28.harm done, I hope. Maybe an ice pack later on tonight. That is a doubles

:53:29. > :53:37.match. You can follow that online. On the Red Button you have Caroline

:53:38. > :53:51.Wozniacki, Kevin Anderson and Fabio Fognini. Let's go back to Court 2.

:53:52. > :53:58.BARRY DAVIES: She hasn't quite found the rhythm yet, has she?

:53:59. > :54:08.ANNE KEOTHAVONG: Not quite yet. She has different pressures now

:54:09. > :54:25.after her performance in Paris. Her opponent seems to have a

:54:26. > :55:03.no-nonsense game that she gets on with without any concern.

:55:04. > :55:10.She played such a good forehand straight up the line. She had Simona

:55:11. > :55:12.Halep in trouble and should have been in to take that ball out of the

:55:13. > :56:04.air. serve on the ad side. It opens up

:56:05. > :56:18.the court for her. A simple one too, from the Romanian.

:56:19. > :56:27.It's a superb serve, the sliced serve out wide on the deuce side.

:56:28. > :56:29.I'm sure it is a serve she won't get fed up of hitting if she keeps

:56:30. > :56:40.getting success like that. Seemed to be drawn in a little

:56:41. > :57:33.unwillingly then. Never quite there. She is taking her chances whenever

:57:34. > :57:35.she can and when she does that, she doesn't look like a player ranked

:57:36. > :59:13.170. Excellent rotation here from Simona

:59:14. > :59:15.Halep on that backhand. Again, coming around the outside of the

:59:16. > :59:40.ball to get that angle. So the first break-point of this

:59:41. > :00:29.opening set in favour of the number three seed.

:00:30. > :00:34.we will take you round some of the other courts. This one on the red

:00:35. > :00:46.button with Caroline Wozniacki. It is still on serve.

:00:47. > :00:56.Court 17, Fabio Fognini has a break of serve against the big serving

:00:57. > :00:59.South African Kevin Anderson. The winner of that will play the winner

:01:00. > :01:07.of the Murray match later on. That is on the red button.

:01:08. > :01:10.And Luciano Lopez has a break in serve out on court 12. -- the

:01:11. > :02:10.Luciano Loup -- the Luciano Lopez. She has this ability to look so

:02:11. > :03:02.balanced when she strikes and her movement around the court.

:03:03. > :03:08.That was a little careless. Still trying to find her consistency out

:03:09. > :03:19.here, Simona Halep. This match was meant to be played

:03:20. > :04:06.yesterday. Tsurenko doing a good job here.

:04:07. > :04:27.Getting herself further inside the court.

:04:28. > :05:26.That has caused a couple of frowns on faces in the commentary box. She

:05:27. > :05:32.is challenging Simona Halep's serve. I am not quite sure what she was

:05:33. > :05:39.thinking there! She played on, the ball went out. The appeal looked

:05:40. > :05:41.like the ball had gone in but in fact, she was querying the original

:05:42. > :06:25.serve. I am still trying to get my head

:06:26. > :06:30.around the fact that she challenged the server! The serve was perfectly

:06:31. > :08:43.legitimate as well! All right, press on.

:08:44. > :09:49.Almost went into slow motion early then. I think Hallett was thinking

:09:50. > :09:55.about querying the call. What Tsurenko was thinking about, I am

:09:56. > :09:59.not sure. -- I think Halep was thinking about challenging the

:10:00. > :10:05.call. An interesting family. Her mother is an economist, her sister a

:10:06. > :10:10.lawyer and her father was involved in international relations at a

:10:11. > :10:18.nuclear plant. She comes from Kiev. It must have been an interesting

:10:19. > :10:28.job. It must have been! She has done well but it is a pity she fell away

:10:29. > :10:30.at the end. First serve percentage from both players was low key but

:10:31. > :11:05.not incredible. -- OK. Simona Halep, one of the most

:11:06. > :11:08.exciting players to watch. She does have the ability to make the game

:11:09. > :11:12.look so easily. She moves effortlessly. Her anticipation is

:11:13. > :11:37.superb. The first double fault of the match

:11:38. > :13:38.from Simona Halep. She is very quick in between points.

:13:39. > :13:46.She obviously believes in the Federer principle. He was quoted as

:13:47. > :13:51.saying that players do not need any more than ten seconds in between

:13:52. > :15:04.points. He has a point. It is best to get on with it.

:15:05. > :15:21.Simona Halep is starting to time the ball very cleanly out here.

:15:22. > :15:30.You were saying? Just like that This came right out of the middle of

:15:31. > :15:47.the racket. A very wayward game from her point

:15:48. > :16:12.of view. It was even Steven until 3-3. Since

:16:13. > :16:46.then it has been Halep. Simona Halep growing in confidence

:16:47. > :18:17.with her game. SUE BARKER: All going Halep's way on

:18:18. > :18:25.Court Number Two. We will be back in a moment. Let's take you around the

:18:26. > :18:30.grounds. This is Andy Murray's opponent later on, Roberto Bautista

:18:31. > :18:38.Agut. He has improved 50 places in the world rankings this year. A big

:18:39. > :18:44.hitter, big flat shots. It will not be easy for Andy later on. But

:18:45. > :18:50.Murray has looked in or some form in his opening two rounds. On the red

:18:51. > :18:59.button Caroline Wozniacki has a set point against Ana conjurer. -- Ana

:19:00. > :19:22.Konjuh. Also on the red button, Kevin

:19:23. > :19:29.Anderson versus Fabio Fognini. He has got to be on his best behaviour

:19:30. > :19:36.after a fine of $27,500 in his second round match. He is a set up

:19:37. > :19:52.but he is facing break point. Back we go to Court Number Two.

:19:53. > :20:00.I'm not quite sure what call that! There is a danger the crowd will not

:20:01. > :20:27.have to long to watch in this match. She needs a little luck, Lesia

:20:28. > :21:42.Tsurenko. She had the whole court to play into

:21:43. > :23:27.with that volley. Where has Halep disappeared to now?

:23:28. > :24:36.Just gone on a little walkabout Simona Halep.

:24:37. > :24:40.I am amazed that Tsurenko did not step in and give that second server

:24:41. > :25:04.real wallop. Back to what she was doing well at

:25:05. > :25:26.the start of the set. Some prostration from Simona Halep

:25:27. > :25:34.there. She sets such high standards for herself.

:25:35. > :26:20.SUE BARKER: We are leading this match now because we are heading

:26:21. > :26:25.over to Centre Court to see Novak Djokovic. But you can access the red

:26:26. > :26:31.button if you want to continue watching. The other match on the red

:26:32. > :26:38.button is between Fabio Fognini and Kevin Anderson. Fognini has taken

:26:39. > :26:43.the first set but he has a break point against the Anderson serve.

:26:44. > :26:50.All eyes on Fognini after his fine in the second round. Just to say

:26:51. > :26:56.that other courts are available online. Caroline Wozniacki has taken

:26:57. > :27:03.the first set in her match, 6-3 The Luciano Lopez was a break down but

:27:04. > :27:08.he has now broken back. We have headed in here. Mark Petchey and

:27:09. > :27:16.John Lloyd with May. Novak Djokovic is coming up against Gilles Simon.

:27:17. > :27:20.He had a key match against Radek Stepanek. He will not want another

:27:21. > :27:26.one like that, will he? I think you are right. His record against Simon

:27:27. > :27:30.suggests he should come through this relatively quickly. Simon does not

:27:31. > :27:36.have a lot to hurt him with. relatively quickly. Simon does not

:27:37. > :27:40.have a lot I think if he is coming in that is probably planned sea for

:27:41. > :27:48.the Frenchman, he is not the most adept around the net. He has lost

:27:49. > :27:54.the last six meetings. He has got to try something against Novak, hasn't

:27:55. > :27:58.he? He has. It is not a good matchup. You look at his game in

:27:59. > :28:02.comparison with Djokovic and you say, where can he hurt him? He

:28:03. > :28:11.cannot hurt him in many places. I think Djokovic will want to be

:28:12. > :28:14.establishing self more after his match with Stepanek. He should have

:28:15. > :28:19.closed the match a lot quicker than he did. Boris Becker will be there

:28:20. > :28:23.and he will say, let's stay on top and get this match over with. He

:28:24. > :28:37.does not want to keep having long matches. Let's hear from Novak.

:28:38. > :28:47.Being back on grass courts is always very special. Today it is only three

:28:48. > :28:53.or four weeks of the grass court season. Wimbledon is the biggest,

:28:54. > :28:57.most valuable event we have in sport. It does not matter how many

:28:58. > :29:05.matches I have played about court, it feels different, it feels very

:29:06. > :29:11.special. It is always an extra motivation to play for my country. I

:29:12. > :29:14.know that the success that the other tennis players in Serbia had, people

:29:15. > :29:19.respect that and appreciate the effort. They know we are trying to

:29:20. > :29:23.represent our country in the best possible way. I always

:29:24. > :29:29.subconsciously have that in my mind and I see the support when I go back

:29:30. > :29:41.to my country. It gives me always an extra point and motivation to do

:29:42. > :29:49.well. I lost a Grand Slam final against Nadal. It is not easy to

:29:50. > :29:55.eliminate all traces of this loss. I lost to Nadal in 2012 and last

:29:56. > :29:59.year's semifinal, I am getting used to losing to him at Roland Garros

:30:00. > :30:05.and coming to Wimbledon. That is sport. It helps me to forget about

:30:06. > :30:08.Roland Garros by being here. And mentally reset myself, recharge the

:30:09. > :30:16.batteries and get the confidence back. I have had experiences with a

:30:17. > :30:21.psychologist. Right now I don't have one. You can read as many books as

:30:22. > :30:27.you like, talk to as many people as you like, but you have to be the one

:30:28. > :30:30.that plays a lot of matches, understands what your weaknesses and

:30:31. > :30:36.strengths are and overcome the pressure.

:30:37. > :30:41.He is a patriotic Serb. How much he talks about that loss against Rafa

:30:42. > :31:11.at the French Open. It was an emotional loss. He has OHN MCENROE:,

:31:12. > :31:22.jorchg John Kerry, JOHN MCENROE They react well as he did

:31:23. > :31:31.You wonder how much the semi final with Del Potro took out of him.

:31:32. > :31:35.That's right. But to me in the finals, at times he almost looked

:31:36. > :31:40.confused about his tactics. He didn't know what to do, Murray

:31:41. > :31:45.played well. That is the main reason he has brought in Boris. I think

:31:46. > :32:03.that is what he needs to do it. That may help him get over the line.

:32:04. > :32:15.So on court against Simon of France. But let's talk about Novak Djokovic.

:32:16. > :32:21.Winning a Grand Slam, there is so many different fa Septembers that go

:32:22. > :32:26.on in -- facets go on in winning. It could be the weather or injuries. It

:32:27. > :32:36.is tough. Yes and perhaps more telling was his semi final at the US

:32:37. > :32:46.Open with wav ran Ca -- wav Rennes Ca. He was saying, look how tough

:32:47. > :32:53.this is. I feel as if that was the precursor to get an ex-Grand Slam

:32:54. > :32:57.champion in the camp. It was like he needs to be able to know how to

:32:58. > :33:02.handle that pressure. You know Boris well. Maybe it was the fact that

:33:03. > :33:11.Andy brought in Ivan Lendl and it worked so well and they thought let

:33:12. > :33:15.me bring in a Grand Slam winner Yes for me great champions don't show it

:33:16. > :33:19.on the the court that they doubt themselves, but they do. There are

:33:20. > :33:23.occasions before finals and systemy finals where even the great ones

:33:24. > :33:30.have doubts. When you have a Grand Slam winner in your corner, just to

:33:31. > :33:36.say a couple of things and tell you what might happen. Although Djokovic

:33:37. > :33:41.has won multiple Grand Slams there are occasions where they might just

:33:42. > :33:46.doubt themselves. I think it was a great signing. At Wimbledon, this is

:33:47. > :33:56.Boris's home. Anything that will help Djokovic with Boris in his

:33:57. > :34:02.corner, this is the place. What do you feel Boris has brought in? Do

:34:03. > :34:13.you see him being different. Is he being more aggressive on the grass.

:34:14. > :34:18.I think so You won't change their game dramatically. You're not going

:34:19. > :34:28.to see a massive change in terms of serving and volleying. Mau bib

:34:29. > :34:39.later? E-- But maybe later. Yes you can't necessarily beat these guys

:34:40. > :34:47.from the back. Sigh man wants s to -- Simon wants to build his points

:34:48. > :34:54.from the back. He doesn't have any weaknesses, Djokovic, does he? No,

:34:55. > :34:58.he is a superb athlete. His defensive skills are brilliant. His

:34:59. > :35:04.serve has improved lights out in the last two or three years. He is more

:35:05. > :35:08.aggressive. If you were going to be really picky, you could say he

:35:09. > :35:12.doesn't volley as well as he could. But other than that he is

:35:13. > :35:18.impeccable. They will show the stats. He has won so much and when

:35:19. > :35:22.you look at the top players, he has been so consistently good over the

:35:23. > :35:30.years. That is one of the huge mrupss in his corner, how deep he

:35:31. > :35:35.goes into these slams. -- huge plusses. Only three tournaments

:35:36. > :35:42.since 2010 has he failed to get past the quarter finals in any event

:35:43. > :35:47.That is an outrageous stat. World ranking two, but seeded one. I think

:35:48. > :35:53.we would all agree with that. Maybe Rafael Nadal would not. Yes, I think

:35:54. > :35:58.he deerdeserved that seeding. - I think he deserved that seeding. I

:35:59. > :36:02.think he will be very aggressive here. Particularly if he gets to

:36:03. > :36:08.play Murray. You will sigh him go after the -- see him go after the

:36:09. > :36:12.Murray second serve more. In that match with Stepanek, he gave

:36:13. > :36:22.Stepanek a point. He is a generous player. That was 5-5 in that set.

:36:23. > :36:27.Yes and they had the Edburg sportsman award. I think that Novak

:36:28. > :36:31.at the French put in a good case for him to win it. There is Boris. We

:36:32. > :36:35.miss him working on the BBC team. But he is enjoying that role and

:36:36. > :36:39.that is something that great champions they love to be around

:36:40. > :36:43.other champions. He is relishing that. I guarantee when he walked

:36:44. > :36:48.through the gates at Wimbledon, Boris is confident at the worse he

:36:49. > :36:57.is always confident, but he would have been, he would have that extra

:36:58. > :37:05.air and I'm sure that is transmitted into Novak. He was reunited with

:37:06. > :37:12.Stefan Edburg. They had some matches. Yes it was a different

:37:13. > :37:19.game. But Simon poses problems for the top guys. You can see him with

:37:20. > :37:23.his best ranking of six. He has only faced one break point so far. I

:37:24. > :37:29.spoke to Andy a couple of years ago when he was in the top ten, he said

:37:30. > :37:33.his game doesn't look big. What is it about him that is so tough. He

:37:34. > :37:37.said he tends to have an ability to hit the ball quite late in the swing

:37:38. > :37:43.and it keeps you off balance. One of the great things from these top guys

:37:44. > :37:51.is their ability to be balanced He said Simon sigh knack of keeping you

:37:52. > :37:56.guessing where he is going to hit the ball. As far as the ranking he

:37:57. > :38:04.has had a poor year is in year. He was 19 at the end of 2013. So

:38:05. > :38:09.confidence is not high. But when you get a run going in a Grand Slam and

:38:10. > :38:14.he has won two matches. Particularly in the second round. To win that in

:38:15. > :38:18.three straits and -- straights and then you get more confident. He has

:38:19. > :38:24.done that. You talk about how tricky he is. He has a big serve. But with

:38:25. > :38:30.his ground strokes, he seems to absorb pace. Yes, he has an amazing

:38:31. > :38:34.ability as you see on the head-to-head and how Novak has

:38:35. > :38:40.dominated. Yeah, he does. That is the thing he lulls you into is in

:38:41. > :38:48.sense of I'm too deep and not working well and then boom he hits

:38:49. > :38:52.you hard. You have got to play a smart match against him. But that is

:38:53. > :38:57.something that Novak is well equipped to do. I think Novak wants

:38:58. > :39:02.to get a good belt after the worrying moments agains Stepanek.

:39:03. > :39:05.Yes that was a great match and Stepanek, we knew that could be

:39:06. > :39:10.tough and it was. He will want to close out these sets better. He

:39:11. > :39:13.should have won that match in three straight. You don't want to have

:39:14. > :39:21.long matches at this stage if you can avoid it. Thank you very much.

:39:22. > :39:33.John is on his way to commentary box. At court two Tsurenko has broke

:39:34. > :39:40.back against Halep and is serving for 1-1. Here we are on Centre Court

:39:41. > :39:44.for what promises to be a very entertaining match and good

:39:45. > :39:53.afternoon to our commentator. COMMENTATOR: Novak Djokovic wants a

:39:54. > :39:57.simple win. What a match it was with Stepanek. The Centre Court crowd on

:39:58. > :40:04.that occasion royally entertained. But you do not want to spend too

:40:05. > :40:10.much energy. Not to be tested. Keep you honest. But Djokovic will want

:40:11. > :40:17.to move on now with as little fuss as possible. Although Simon at his

:40:18. > :40:21.best could give Djokovic a match. He has slipped down the rankings, but a

:40:22. > :40:26.lot of that has been because of an ankle problem, which he is over now.

:40:27. > :40:33.He was on crutches just before the Australian Open. And he only started

:40:34. > :40:41.to feel fully fit again in May. He gave Rafael Nadal a good name on

:40:42. > :40:50.clay. That was in Rome. He was a semi finalist in Nice. The sun is

:40:51. > :41:00.nining. Which is nice for now. But... A bit of greyness over head.

:41:01. > :41:02.We might have a shower or two. But that incredibly impressive roof will

:41:03. > :41:31.do its work. So the world number two, but the

:41:32. > :43:01.number one seed will get us going. JOHN LLOYD: Novak Djokovic just held

:43:02. > :43:26.that ball for a split second and went behind him.

:43:27. > :43:37.UMPIRE: Replay. A swift correction of his own mistake. From the line

:43:38. > :44:03.judge. Great play from Djokovic. Good hold.

:44:04. > :44:08.After the initial insult of Simon winning the opening point on

:44:09. > :44:20.Djokovic's serve. He settles into this match very quickly. Talking

:44:21. > :44:26.about how he turned his form around and became that dominant player in

:44:27. > :44:32.late 2010, 2011. Everyone talked about his fitness and cutting gluten

:44:33. > :44:36.from his diet, but it was his serve as well that started to look a lot

:44:37. > :46:05.stronger. Now, Simon's turn. Djokovic knew he was baiten there.

:46:06. > :46:10.What an impress jif opening service game from Simon. He doesn't over

:46:11. > :46:20.power you with those serves. He is not a big man. Not slight, but. . He

:46:21. > :46:21.is an accurate server, but not particularly powerful. He finds his

:46:22. > :47:07.spots. He did well to stay in that rally as

:47:08. > :47:10.long as he did. He was being punished all over the court. He hits

:47:11. > :47:49.the ball very flat. Great serve and great play from

:47:50. > :47:57.Novak Djokovic. We remain on serve. SUE BARKER: We will be back in a

:47:58. > :48:05.moment. But plenty is happening on the outside courts. Tsurenko has

:48:06. > :48:15.served out for the second set and now 1-1 with Simona Halep. You can

:48:16. > :48:21.watch that one on the red button. That is how she won it. These are

:48:22. > :48:32.live pictures. It is on serve, Halep having held serve in the opening

:48:33. > :48:38.game. And Caroline Wozniacki at match point against Konjuh from

:48:39. > :48:55.Croatia. She is through to the fourth round. The former world No 1.

:48:56. > :49:01.On court 17, Fabio Fognini is a set up. And Lopez is in action in a

:49:02. > :49:05.tie-break. Li Na is on court. This match is on the red button and

:49:06. > :49:51.others are online. But back to Centre Cour.

:49:52. > :50:12.Simon hanging with Djokovic and the mistake comes.

:50:13. > :51:26.Talk about the placement of the serve.

:51:27. > :51:33.Simon defending very well. There was one shot that came at him very deep

:51:34. > :51:39.and seemed to shoot off the court and he hit it late, but still he has

:51:40. > :51:56.got such good control he directed it back deep to Novak. A very good hold

:51:57. > :52:01.for the Frenchman. Simon was talking about this match and everyone said

:52:02. > :52:05.poor you, he said, no, I love playing the bigger players. So a

:52:06. > :52:24.suggestion that perhaps he might lift his game for this one.

:52:25. > :54:09.That had immense back spin. He knew he would be in trouble.

:54:10. > :54:24.It is rare to see two bad points in a row. That looked like he, that one

:54:25. > :54:25.ended up half way up the net. He almost lost his grip on the

:54:26. > :54:53.forehand. Just! These are all encouraging

:54:54. > :54:58.signs from Simon though. He is hitting the ball so cleanly at the

:54:59. > :55:14.moment. He was half an inch there from having a break point.

:55:15. > :55:27.It is a hole Djokovic, but he is working hard for it. Still on serve.

:55:28. > :55:34.SUE BARKER: Djokovic 3-2 up. This is the first match on Centre Cour. The

:55:35. > :55:41.third match features Andy Murray. He is just north of Centre Court at the

:55:42. > :55:47.moment. These are live pictures at the practice courts. He is going

:55:48. > :56:02.through a bit of training with his coach, Amelie Mauresmo. Andy has

:56:03. > :56:06.been in awesome form. He is playing Bautista of Spain. He is a player he

:56:07. > :56:18.hasn't played before, but he won't be taking him lightly. Now back to

:56:19. > :56:23.Centre Cour. Andy Murray up later. For now the man that he might meet

:56:24. > :56:25.in the semi final. Again we look a long way down the line. A lot of

:56:26. > :57:42.tennis to be played. He read that one well. Just a slight

:57:43. > :57:50.feint there and he was up at the net, Djokovic. A comfortable shot.

:57:51. > :57:52.But he did a fake there. Made Simon go down the line and the cross court

:57:53. > :58:24.was empty if he had gone that way. A minor slip there from Djokovic.

:58:25. > :59:34.Lost his balance a bit. I was about to say that forehand

:59:35. > :59:39.side he could run round this and hit a forehand. But why bother? If you

:59:40. > :00:21.can hit that you don't have to come around it.

:00:22. > :00:24.mistake comes from Simon. Sometimes they seem to be living

:00:25. > :00:29.with the best players for a while, they think everything is OK. It

:00:30. > :00:31.changes for one game, for half a game. Djokovic closes in on a break

:00:32. > :00:42.point. That was a bad shot there. He set it

:00:43. > :00:48.up perfectly. Very good serve. He wants to get in those positions but

:00:49. > :01:33.he hit that forehand late. So here it is. Break point Djokovic.

:01:34. > :01:58.Just hanging in Simon. The longest rally of this very young match.

:01:59. > :02:29.It wasn't that difficult a serve. He just blocked it wide.

:02:30. > :02:36.That was the return that got Simon in trouble. He followed up nicely

:02:37. > :03:01.there. Got on top of the ball. Took it on the rise. Poor second serve.

:03:02. > :03:06.He is annoyed. There was no direction, it was 83mph but right in

:03:07. > :03:11.the middle of the service box, and that is a dangerous, you are going

:03:12. > :03:13.up against Djokovic, he will hurt you -- hurt you with that type of

:03:14. > :03:41.serve. Break point again. I can hear the bashes of frustration

:03:42. > :03:47.from Gilles Simon, because, just gave that one away at the end. He

:03:48. > :03:48.said the drop off between the first and second serve... Shouldn't have

:03:49. > :04:53.lost that game, really. He has the break. A couple of

:04:54. > :06:10.mishits, a couple of, a couple of loose ones.

:06:11. > :06:34.Beautifully done. Racket head acceleration on that backhand.

:06:35. > :06:35.There the winner, it it was the same shot doing the dam before that.

:06:36. > :07:03.Simon with a chance to hit back We have match on hurt hands. Simon.

:07:04. > :07:07.Back on serve. -- map on our hands.

:07:08. > :07:12.-- match on our hands. SUE BARKER: To Simon breaks back, we

:07:13. > :07:16.will back on centre in a moment To see the continuation of this match,

:07:17. > :07:20.but let us show you what has been happening elsewhere. Caroline

:07:21. > :07:25.Wozniacki raced through her second set against Ana Konjuh of Croatia,

:07:26. > :07:28.winning it 6-0. So a straight sets victory for Caroline, who is seeded

:07:29. > :07:42.16 at the Championships and she is through to the Fourth Round, to face

:07:43. > :07:50.Strycova or Li Na. And a win for Bencic. She has beaten

:07:51. > :07:55.Victoria Duvall in straight sets. A real talent for the future, trains

:07:56. > :08:01.at the chess evet academy. Coached by her dad, but a big future for

:08:02. > :08:05.this young lady. So she is through. That is the second round match. And

:08:06. > :08:11.she will play tomorrow, the winner of the match on Court Two. Simona

:08:12. > :08:14.Halep has a break in the third set, leading 4-2. That is what is

:08:15. > :08:21.happening elsewhere. Back we go to centre.

:08:22. > :08:27.You don't get to sixth in the world as Gilles Simon was a few years ago.

:08:28. > :08:32.That is why we highlighted if he is playing close to his best, he can

:08:33. > :08:34.certainly threaten Djokovic. We are on serve.

:08:35. > :09:22.It is Simon with new balls. P Uld would like to see the challenge

:09:23. > :09:37.of that, to see where it landed exactly.

:09:38. > :09:47.Let us have a look at the, let us look that the first serve which

:09:48. > :09:52.landed just by his feet, almost I I like the way he looks down and

:09:53. > :09:56.then up at the sun here, he looks up at the sun here, see, that is what

:09:57. > :10:27.happened. Lost it there.

:10:28. > :10:32.Shaky points. Worked hard to get this break back, doesn't want to

:10:33. > :10:37.throw this one away. He landed a couple of big first receives to

:10:38. > :10:41.start this game, it has deserted him.

:10:42. > :11:27.-- serves. Wonderful. Wonderful rally and Simon

:11:28. > :11:40.takes the point. More than equal to Djokovic.

:11:41. > :11:44.That is the best rally of the match. Both players absorbing power so

:11:45. > :11:50.well. Making them play one more shot. Amazing get from Djokovic But

:11:51. > :11:55.fantastic hitting from the ground strokes there of Seymour.

:11:56. > :12:29.It's good. It is better than that from Djokovic.

:12:30. > :12:37.Simon will be breathing heavy after that rally. If they keep this up...

:12:38. > :12:43.Playing points like this, it is just exhausting. Novak doesn't look like

:12:44. > :13:19.he is breathing at all. You talk about Simon breathing hard,

:13:20. > :13:24.that is where Djokovic will have the edge, on fitness and stamina, we

:13:25. > :13:26.talked about the injury problems with his ankle, that Gilles Simon

:13:27. > :13:46.had at the start of the year. That is right and you know that the

:13:47. > :13:50.top players, they are consistently in the semifinals, finals of all

:13:51. > :13:55.their tournament, the top ten, that gives them a great advantage, you

:13:56. > :14:01.can train off the court but it is not the same as match fitness, match

:14:02. > :14:04.playing. He has been losing early in tournament, you can't build up the

:14:05. > :14:27.reservoir like the top player have. That was a rather weary looking

:14:28. > :14:31.shot. He looks like he needs a break here.

:14:32. > :14:39.He is going to play out the full amount.

:14:40. > :14:43.Rest time between points, needs to collect him. He is really gasping

:14:44. > :15:11.for breath. Djokovics spares him on that

:15:12. > :15:15.occasion. A bit more like that He was disappointed, the backhand

:15:16. > :15:20.wasn't particularly... It was the forehand the previous shot he was

:15:21. > :15:26.looking at there, because he didn't do anything with it. He half caught,

:15:27. > :15:57.enabled Simon to take over in the rally.

:15:58. > :16:01.Uncharacteristic that Djokovic is just letting his point off the hook.

:16:02. > :16:41.-- opponent off the hook. 75mph the second serve. I am being

:16:42. > :16:47.officious and putting a clock on Simon. They are getting strict on it

:16:48. > :17:28.now. Not as much as they should be.

:17:29. > :17:41.That is marvellous stuff again. .com flings out his arms "What can I do?"

:17:42. > :18:33.. ". -- Djokovic. I think Simon needs to close out

:18:34. > :18:46.this service game soon, otherwise they will be picking him up off the

:18:47. > :18:49.court. That is why time between points is time to crackdown, you

:18:50. > :19:06.have to be fit, you have to be strong.

:19:07. > :19:31.He just wants one first serve here, Simon.

:19:32. > :19:47.He breathes a sigh and goes off for a lie down.

:19:48. > :19:54.He hasn't even played a first set yet! He is taking a moment to

:19:55. > :20:21.himself. Blistering return, but Djokovic

:20:22. > :20:36.nearly down. There was a rocket of a forehand

:20:37. > :21:51.Simon hit, I don't think he would have got that if he had

:21:52. > :21:57.Stand stick stuff from Gilles Simon. Challenged by Djokovic first of all.

:21:58. > :22:04.The neutrals in the crowd want Simon to win this point. He did so well,

:22:05. > :22:10.he struggled a bit on the overhead. Again, that is the second overhead.

:22:11. > :22:15.The sun is really affecting him in that shot. He worked so hard to hold

:22:16. > :22:58.his own serve, and just a hint of a chance here.

:22:59. > :23:28.Simon knows he won't get too many opportunities.

:23:29. > :23:32.Intark here we are going to leave Centre Court. If you want to watch

:23:33. > :23:37.it is on BBC One. We are going to drop in on Court No.

:23:38. > :23:42.Two here, we were watching this one earlier. Simona Halep has two match

:23:43. > :23:44.points. Lesia Tsurenko has saved two match points so let us see if she

:23:45. > :23:57.can finish it off here. So let us drop in with our

:23:58. > :24:02.commentators and see the conclusion of this match.

:24:03. > :24:42.Oh she had ha has got it. On the fourth match point she's had.

:24:43. > :24:48.She was very well tested out there. She always blew it from a set and

:24:49. > :24:51.three up. Allowed her opponent back into the match, and eventually found

:24:52. > :24:57.way, all those matches she has won over the past 12 month, really came

:24:58. > :25:05.through there, the confidence of the crucial moments. One hour and 4

:25:06. > :25:08.minute, she fought her way back so well, Lesia Tsurenko from dropping

:25:09. > :25:18.her service because of two error, and the second game she got back to

:25:19. > :25:21.square the match. Halep the number three seed goings through.

:25:22. > :25:25.-- goes through in an hour and 9 minutes.

:25:26. > :25:33.What an exciting end to that. Next she will face Bencic of Switzerland.

:25:34. > :25:46.We are heading off to Court One If you want to watch on the red button,

:25:47. > :25:51.the options are. We will be staying on court too four Jerzy Janowicz. We

:25:52. > :26:00.are off to see Li Na who is serving to stay in this opening set.

:26:01. > :26:13.You join us at a tricky moment forly that. She start -- Li Na. She was

:26:14. > :26:18.broken back immediately. She broke back, we have had four breaks so far

:26:19. > :26:24.and it has been on serve but there hasn't been a lot of rhythm or

:26:25. > :26:29.momentum to this match. It has been a struggle for Li Na.

:26:30. > :26:47.Very difficult to find her rhythm and timing out here.

:26:48. > :26:56.Li Na's game has been troubled by an inconsistent serve as well, and the

:26:57. > :27:02.the forehand and serve have been a bit shaky. The number two seed. She

:27:03. > :27:17.has played some patches of really great tennis and patches that have

:27:18. > :27:23.your shaking your head. She has recally struggle whenever Strycova

:27:24. > :27:45.has taken pace off it. Li has not been able to make that adjustment.

:27:46. > :27:57.Leaf for Li Na. -- relief. There is her coach. He is

:27:58. > :28:01.more in charge of the hitting and the rackets and the water bottles

:28:02. > :28:07.That seems to be working a lot better for these two. That is

:28:08. > :28:14.helping things along. There is her coach, who you might remember. He

:28:15. > :28:18.has been in charge for a couple of seasons now. We have had a lot of

:28:19. > :29:04.success today, but there is a very difficult afternoon.

:29:05. > :29:12.Still searching for the A game. Li Na, but today she is up against a

:29:13. > :29:17.tough competitor in Zahlavova Strycova. 28 years of age from the

:29:18. > :29:23.Czech Republic where they make that wonderful beer. Ranked outside the

:29:24. > :29:32.top 40. She is the fourth ranked player in the Czech Republic.

:29:33. > :29:35.Never beyond the third round at any Islam, Strycova. So looking to break

:29:36. > :29:57.new ground here. A better job with the forehand there

:29:58. > :30:01.from Li Na. She hits her shot so much better

:30:02. > :30:06.when she stays with it through contact. It starts to fly and she

:30:07. > :30:53.starts to lose control when she pulls off it and falls to her left.

:30:54. > :31:09.She was the world's best junior in 2007. To a lot of expectation. She

:31:10. > :31:11.took on a sports psychologist and it made quite a lot of difference, she

:31:12. > :31:33.said. Two unhappy women out there! And one

:31:34. > :31:36.ra her miserable coach as well. The level has been below what either of

:31:37. > :33:18.these two are capable of playing. That did come through and you put

:33:19. > :33:24.your thumbs up at the window of our commentary box. You liked that last

:33:25. > :33:54.shot. It came off the racquet cleaner.

:33:55. > :34:03.That was a huge opportunity for Li. This first set is massive, but more

:34:04. > :34:06.so for Zahlavova Strycova, because she has had so many chances. She has

:34:07. > :34:39.never been the most positive player. That has been the pattern of the

:34:40. > :34:41.match for Li Na. So up and down She is lucky to still even be in this

:34:42. > :35:32.opening set. A strange feeling around this match,

:35:33. > :35:38.is it nerves, or is it tension? Both below par. Zahlavova Strycova a

:35:39. > :36:14.former ice skate iras a youngster. -- skater as a youngster.

:36:15. > :36:51.I'm not quite sure what is amazing the crowd here.

:36:52. > :37:00.I am sure all the times you played Wimbledon when you were a high seed,

:37:01. > :37:10.you had days where it wasn't exactly singing off-the-rack etc. How did

:37:11. > :37:16.you -- singing off the racket. In the 14 days, on one day you won t be

:37:17. > :37:21.on your A game and it is how you manage your emotions. Li has not

:37:22. > :37:25.been consistent. A lot of unforced errors. She needs a better

:37:26. > :37:35.recognition of who she is playing. She can win this match without her A

:37:36. > :37:43.game and that number is abysmal for playing on grass. A lot of sloppy un

:37:44. > :37:51.forced errors. She needs to take stock of even her B game. Even an

:37:52. > :38:03.C-plus game would beat Zahlavova Strycova. She is in a spot here For

:38:04. > :38:33.a second time serving to stay in the opening set.

:38:34. > :38:39.Zahlavova Strycova, who lost to Li Na on the last two occasions they

:38:40. > :38:42.played, it was a while ago, hasn't come out here with her autograph

:38:43. > :39:22.book open! That was a huge backhand. A much

:39:23. > :39:26.needed one. Again the great preparation on the backhand wing.

:39:27. > :40:48.She moves to it so much more naturally than her forehand.

:40:49. > :40:55.Those last two points, an example of some of the tennis we have seen in

:40:56. > :41:02.this first set. This is the most important part of this first set and

:41:03. > :41:30.still too many sloppy, unforced errors.

:41:31. > :41:47.That is more like it from Li Na This is the best forehand Li has hit

:41:48. > :42:01.this match. Cut the angle off. Back into court. It has been a labour of

:42:02. > :42:08.love for both women out here. Introthe break, Zahlavova Strycova

:42:09. > :42:10.has won eight out of eight tie-breakers this year. Li Na, five

:42:11. > :42:46.out of eight. What an amazing tie-break record for

:42:47. > :42:52.Zahlavova Strycova, considering doesn't have a great serve record.

:42:53. > :42:58.That is incredible. I thought maybe I was misreading that. I looked it

:42:59. > :43:01.up too after you said that. You checked, thanks! That cannot be

:43:02. > :43:18.right. I'm pleased you checked though!

:43:19. > :44:30.Li Na looking for some traction here.

:44:31. > :44:38.That is one of the best serves we have seen from Zahlavova Strycova in

:44:39. > :44:40.this match. Went for a bit more on that. Especially out wide on the

:44:41. > :45:14.outside. What aggressive playing there f r-

:45:15. > :46:02.-- from Zahlavova Strycova. She is serving bigger than Li Na.

:46:03. > :46:14.It is not really an official stopping off point. But it has

:46:15. > :46:24.become one. Rngts It has become established by the players. It is

:46:25. > :46:26.the first set that is taking ore the hour. Still not clear as to who

:46:27. > :46:43.might take it. What a time for that forehand to

:46:44. > :47:28.find its mark. Right in the corner. That is right in front of our

:47:29. > :47:41.commentary box. What do you think? I think it might have taken a piece of

:47:42. > :47:50.the line. I tend to agree. Well well... Well called by the linesman.

:47:51. > :47:54.That takes us off umpire duties for a few years. You wonder why she is

:47:55. > :47:56.trying to play so close to the lines when she is clearly not on it here

:47:57. > :48:31.today. She has made it! Zahlavova Strycova

:48:32. > :48:39.has done a great job when she has moved forward. Great awareness of

:48:40. > :48:45.what to do with her volleys. And her coaching camp urging her to go

:48:46. > :48:47.forward and she has come in nine out of the 14 times she has been

:48:48. > :49:20.successful. It has been an absorbinf

:49:21. > :51:26.BARKER: Ape we ol for a s`ock. We It has been an absorbinf

:51:27. > :51:40.Bencac in t`e next round. It has been an absorbinf

:51:41. > :54:11.here. There haven't been many

:54:12. > :54:17.comprehensive, confident holds of serve yet in this match. You're so

:54:18. > :54:19.polite Lindsay! That is a lovely way to explain some of the service

:54:20. > :54:36.games. There we go! Nice and clean for Li

:54:37. > :54:46.Na and by my reckoning, the first love hold of the match. You're a top

:54:47. > :54:51.player, a lot of expectations coming in here, that has happened to you so

:54:52. > :54:55.many times, you have dropped the first set, big court, how do you

:54:56. > :55:01.respond? Early in this second set and try and get a handle on your

:55:02. > :55:05.game. Li Na is fighting herself and the loss early of the French oech

:55:06. > :55:10.doesn't help in -- Open doesn't help. She knows she is potentially

:55:11. > :55:12.vulnerable in these stages. And she will still be having memories of

:55:13. > :55:44.Paris. Even after the early round loss at

:55:45. > :55:50.the French Open, Li did not play any grass court tournaments leading in

:55:51. > :55:51.here. She had about a month off before starting her Wimbledon

:55:52. > :56:33.campaign. spends a lot of time in Munich in

:56:34. > :56:39.Germany, where her physical therapist, the chap in the middle,

:56:40. > :56:44.he is based. She has a lot of medical support. It has almost

:56:45. > :56:46.become a second home for her and the Chinese media are kept away and she

:56:47. > :57:15.can have a more normal life there. playing below par. She has played

:57:16. > :58:11.well. She has taken advantage of what has been given to her.

:58:12. > :58:19.Do you think what has put Li Na off is she has got a player that is

:58:20. > :58:26.looking to come forward and come at her. Yes, it is tough on grass when

:58:27. > :58:28.your opponent is put gt more pressure on you than you are on

:58:29. > :58:59.them. If you're Li Na, you're focussed on

:59:00. > :59:02.getting your game back together Throughout the first set, Zahlavova

:59:03. > :59:08.Strycova was troubled by something going on in her left foot. Whether

:59:09. > :59:16.her toe, she tried to fix it. The tape job a few times. But it seems

:59:17. > :59:25.to affect her quite regularly. She hasn't had the trainer out. She has

:59:26. > :59:33.had some scissors sent out and then some pliers. We are waiting for the

:59:34. > :59:35.saw! She is a DIY when it comes to her injuries. Maybe she should get

:59:36. > :00:38.the trainer out, there is obviously some sort of problem there.

:00:39. > :00:45.This is a really good opportunity for Strycova to take some chances on

:00:46. > :00:50.her return games. She has the set lead now. She has started to get a

:00:51. > :00:52.handle on her own service game, so a good chance to take a little more

:00:53. > :01:50.risk. That's more like it.

:01:51. > :01:55.A great anticipation here from Li. We haven't seen her change the pace

:01:56. > :03:06.often in this match. There, a nice time to go for the drop shot.

:03:07. > :03:14.Toed first serve when she needed it. Li. -- good. If she could change one

:03:15. > :03:19.aspect of her game what should it be? On the ground stroke he has to

:03:20. > :03:23.take a little bit of the risk. Go for some bigger targets and spots on

:03:24. > :03:58.the court. Also with her serve, she has got to start placing it better.

:03:59. > :04:18.Li Na doing really well. The going for Li Na is pretty tough.

:04:19. > :04:22.She hasn't made life easy, but she is fighting hard mentally, she has

:04:23. > :04:30.stayed pretty positive from what we have seen in the past.

:04:31. > :04:34.We talked so much about the serve on grass, but is one of the problems

:04:35. > :04:40.for Li Na the fact that Strycova is making so many returns? Yes, but on

:04:41. > :04:45.grass you should be able to hold that yourself accountable for that

:04:46. > :04:50.for and amazing percentage of returns into play on the first

:04:51. > :04:55.serve. On grass, you really control your own destiny when you serve and

:04:56. > :04:59.Li, she is not hitting the corner, she is not hitting her targets, and

:05:00. > :05:03.that is going to make life difficult on this surface. If you were serving

:05:04. > :05:11.at distribute visit from, where would you go I think Li needs to put

:05:12. > :05:18.a bit more slice on her serve, she is a little too flat at visit. You

:05:19. > :05:24.have to hit a few more with slice that are bendingia I from Strycova.

:05:25. > :05:29.Then go for the hard one, and that is something Rodriguez has a very

:05:30. > :05:34.technical service motion, we saw it with Justine Henin as well and Li Na

:05:35. > :05:39.has adopted that same position. It is very tense, it is not a very

:05:40. > :06:24.relaxed service motion, and there is more tension in the score, the serve

:06:25. > :06:25.tends to break down. More tension in the score, the serve

:06:26. > :06:49.tends to break down. Strycova going for that shot, a

:06:50. > :06:55.little too often now, especially when the ball is coming hard, fast,

:06:56. > :07:02.low, right do you, the drop shots are very tough to pull off.

:07:03. > :07:12.She is very good at getting herself in a stew, Strycova. She needs to

:07:13. > :07:39.maintain some calmness here, what do in the service game.

:07:40. > :07:43.Li Na holding her ground on that last forehand, jumping out of the

:07:44. > :08:41.shot before she made contact. This is another game, Li Na has a 30

:08:42. > :08:46.love advantage, the points go by quickly, this was a real opportunity

:08:47. > :09:13.again for Li Na to try and get a bit of a lead here.

:09:14. > :09:27.Just about sums is up her afternoon. Normally in tennis matches we talk

:09:28. > :09:33.so much about momentum swings going this way and this. It feels like it

:09:34. > :09:37.as been a momentumless match, a bit of this, a bit of that, no-one has

:09:38. > :09:41.really got hold of it. We have been waiting for Li Na to turn it round

:09:42. > :09:47.and get a handle on this match, and each time we think maybe she is

:09:48. > :10:09.about do that, she lets Strycova back in.

:10:10. > :10:53.Four doubles in this set, the first of the second.

:10:54. > :11:01.Always so much pressure on Li Na's shoulders. The second highest paid

:11:02. > :11:04.sports woman after Maria Sharapova, it feels like she is representing

:11:05. > :11:43.the Chinese state out here, all eyes are always on her.

:11:44. > :11:47.Not really her strong suit the challenges we have been from her so

:11:48. > :12:34.far. Again, a nice thrang of pace from

:12:35. > :12:39.Strycova. That is another shot Li Na was there in plenty of time, to at

:12:40. > :12:43.least put that into play. Yes, we sit here, searching for

:12:44. > :12:49.explanations, as I am suring they are doing in her player box.

:12:50. > :12:59.Rodriguez her coach, shifting uncomfortably in his chair.

:13:00. > :13:07.That is the type of point you don't want to see pass you by if you are

:13:08. > :13:17.Strycova. Li Na is on the edge of cracking, and if you want to make

:13:18. > :13:45.her earn her point, not give them to her -- points.

:13:46. > :14:16.Li Na gives it right back to her with a relatively easy shot missed.

:14:17. > :14:20.Even the simplest shorts are straight forward When you don't

:14:21. > :14:26.believe and your confidence is low, every hot is a challenge.

:14:27. > :14:31.Clearly she is still, has a hangover from what happened at the French

:14:32. > :14:39.Open. Long hangover.

:14:40. > :14:45.Li Na muddles her way through another service game. On serve in

:14:46. > :14:56.this second set. You are been talking the about Li

:14:57. > :14:59.Na's service direction, and the spots where she is hitting is not

:15:00. > :15:07.quite right, so let's just take a look at exactly where she is

:15:08. > :15:12.receiving. She is serving on the deuce side, far too many balls to

:15:13. > :15:18.the Strycova back end, which is the better shot, then on, maybe a bit

:15:19. > :15:24.too predictable with going too many serves up the T. Where would you go?

:15:25. > :15:28.I would go up the T. They are not near that centre line, they are more

:15:29. > :15:33.into Strycova, where her forehand, I would love to see Li hit a few more

:15:34. > :15:35.with exaggerated serve, one that maybe tails away from Strycova, get

:15:36. > :15:43.her reaching on that forehand wing. Snoismt What about Strycova, has she

:15:44. > :15:47.been broadly getting it right? It is a pretty good number there on both

:15:48. > :15:53.sides, on that court distributed more equally, a few more body serves

:15:54. > :15:58.might serve her well. But overall, you are impressed. So

:15:59. > :16:02.with Li, it not so much the direction, it is accuracy It is the

:16:03. > :16:07.accuracy, she is never going to over power an opponent with the power

:16:08. > :16:16.that miles per hour on her serve, she is hitting the same serve and

:16:17. > :17:44.not hitting the corners. Strycova 2-3 second set.

:17:45. > :17:50.Other dear, same old dupe, we have an expression in England, you know

:17:51. > :17:53.what a Sunday roast is, when you are making the Sunday roast you get the

:17:54. > :17:58.chicken out to have a look to see how it is looking, you think I must

:17:59. > :18:01.take the ice-cream to let it melt and you end up putting the ice-cream

:18:02. > :18:05.in the oven and the roast in the freezer. It is one of those days

:18:06. > :18:07.where everything is upside down That is a good one, I hadn't heard

:18:08. > :18:19.that one before. We do say some funny thing, as you

:18:20. > :18:23.know. I'm learning. That is one of my Sunday roasts

:18:24. > :18:27.Have you ever put a roast in the freezer? I might have done. No-one

:18:28. > :19:00.comes round for Sunday roast any more.

:19:01. > :19:04.It has been amaze. We had so many breaks of serve early on in the

:19:05. > :19:10.match and the players now have settled in to hold on to their

:19:11. > :20:10.service games. Opening five game, four breaks, we couldn't move for

:20:11. > :20:15.breaks of serve, could we? What do you say to that? I am shaking my

:20:16. > :20:19.head just like you are, Sam, everything was set up beautifully

:20:20. > :20:23.here, the forehand she lets it drop so low, didn't time her movement

:20:24. > :20:27.forward well at all, and then deaccelerated when she made contact.

:20:28. > :20:31.Just not a confident shot, and normally Li Na's very good at those

:20:32. > :20:56.swing volleys. So in your opinion is Strycova

:20:57. > :21:02.winning this or is Li Na losing it They have been out here almost an

:21:03. > :21:06.hour and quarter and I am am none the wiser. The sun has won its

:21:07. > :21:21.battle with a few clouds up there, I can talk about the weather. I will

:21:22. > :21:22.leave the tennis to you, Lindsey. That is a much more confident

:21:23. > :22:26.forehand there. So what is the internal dialogue. It

:22:27. > :22:32.is about steadying the ship she plays a high risk game. She is not

:22:33. > :22:36.playing the percentages so far, there has to be a still just some

:22:37. > :22:41.negative motion from that early round loss at the French Open. She

:22:42. > :22:48.is trying to battle through it here, but she just seems to be... Just not

:22:49. > :23:06.that enthused, to be here playing. It is an issue for some of the pop

:23:07. > :23:11.women playing like Kvitova? There is nowhere to pull back to? She should

:23:12. > :23:16.S Li Na can move round the coward so well. She has the ability to rely on

:23:17. > :23:22.her foot speed to make some balls until the timing or the rhythm come

:23:23. > :23:26.back, she is stubbornly going about her game, still missing the mark,

:23:27. > :23:28.not thinking her way through this match.

:23:29. > :24:10.Strycova has shown some excellent work with that backhand volley.

:24:11. > :25:51.Keeps two hands on the racket. She has made another one of those

:25:52. > :25:55.errors. Her finishing has been inex Palestinianable -- inexplicable She

:25:56. > :26:01.set herself up so well, she is getting the rhythm back, the easy

:26:02. > :26:04.ones. You added up all the easy misses out here, that would equate

:26:05. > :26:23.to a few games. Absolutely. We haven't seen many break points

:26:24. > :26:27.since the middle stages of the first set. This is important for Li to get

:26:28. > :26:36.this point, try an get some positive momentum going.

:26:37. > :26:57.That is too good. That is very good. When you are

:26:58. > :26:59.5'4"-and-a-half, you know you are on the something. Dealing with the

:27:00. > :27:32.pressure well, here, Strycova. Very few of those from her in this

:27:33. > :27:38.match. That is just her third. Just another gift wrapped

:27:39. > :27:40.opportunity for Li Na here. Surely she is going to take one of them

:27:41. > :27:54.soon. And that again, it is just too good.

:27:55. > :27:57.Strycova managed to only do come up with her best serve sons the biggest

:27:58. > :28:43.points on her service game. You know when they put in their

:28:44. > :28:50.media notes best shot is forehand crosscourt. I think she would put

:28:51. > :28:53.backhand drop shot. Two handed. It is very much her own, she has not

:28:54. > :29:27.been afraid to use it. Strycova was raising the level of

:29:28. > :29:29.her game, whenever it did look like Li Na was going to turn things

:29:30. > :29:30.round. her game, whenever it did look like

:29:31. > :29:37.Li Na was going Even when you know it is coming, it is good. There is

:29:38. > :30:18.not a lot you can do about it. Second set...

:30:19. > :30:31.You are right, Strycova has never hired a top ten win. -- never had.

:30:32. > :30:34.And to win in a Grand Slam, she will have to keep an eye on Strycova and

:30:35. > :30:55.how she handles her emotions. went to one month ago, that is

:30:56. > :30:59.extraordinary, considering the emotional time she has had on court,

:31:00. > :31:52.that has already had an immediate effect.

:31:53. > :32:08.So, the challenge... Routine service game for Li Na. It has gone flat?

:32:09. > :32:15.The fans are not investing. They are serving just. Almost two hours of

:32:16. > :32:23.some patchy tennis, we shall call it. The fans are still just waiting,

:32:24. > :32:27.as we are, to see Li Na kicking things up. This is a Grand Slam

:32:28. > :32:31.You're trying to win another. things up. This is a Grand Slam

:32:32. > :32:35.You're trying She has already won two different Grand Slam titles and

:32:36. > :32:48.we are just a little bit disappointed and shocked that Li has

:32:49. > :32:56.not been able to raise her game yet. Why is she not able to do that? She

:32:57. > :33:00.fell short at the French Open? Your generation did not have that

:33:01. > :33:07.problem. In the past, the top three players historically, it was

:33:08. > :33:15.uncommon to ever take any early losses or struggle. Li Na has not

:33:16. > :33:23.been able to find any consistent gear to get easily through the early

:33:24. > :33:44.rounds. Serving to say in the second set. -- stay.

:33:45. > :33:54.You are wondering why she is so good at the net. She has been fairly

:33:55. > :34:28.prolific in that department. Ranked just inside the top 30 in doubles.

:34:29. > :34:36.That was a very nice job with the overhead. Take a little pace off and

:34:37. > :35:43.hit more slice, round the outside of the ball to get it to move away

:35:44. > :35:53.And the fans here are really responding to how hard Strycova is

:35:54. > :35:58.working and how many times she is making Li Na play just one more

:35:59. > :36:26.ball. They are taking to this 28-year-old.

:36:27. > :36:34.Strycova knows that she cannot afford to give away points like

:36:35. > :36:40.that. Double fault in the last service game and she did manage to

:36:41. > :36:41.get through that and she is putting herself under pressure here again

:36:42. > :37:11.with another loose one. Maybe we are starting to understand

:37:12. > :37:17.why Strycova has never eaten any top ten player. The sense that she might

:37:18. > :38:10.be linking here. All of a sudden, Li Na has the set point.

:38:11. > :38:25.-- blinking. Can you believe it We even get a smile from Strycova. Li

:38:26. > :38:30.Na play that her faith, she did not try to hit their pastor, just add

:38:31. > :38:39.her feet but she was not able to handle that. -- hit that passed her.

:38:40. > :39:38.It was the overhead. Strycova staying alive in this second set.

:39:39. > :40:05.That is a type of tennis we have been waiting for. We have waited for

:40:06. > :40:06.a very long time but Strycova possibly is playing the match of her

:40:07. > :40:59.life at the moment. On the go. That is all of the test forehands

:41:00. > :41:02.that Li has had this much. Great operation, she took time and it

:41:03. > :41:39.executed beautifully. Well, three winners from Li. She was

:41:40. > :41:43.unable to win the second set and she had some set points. She has

:41:44. > :42:05.rebounded nicely. The number two seed keeping the

:42:06. > :42:23.pressure on. She's stronger together. Is this

:42:24. > :42:28.what we have been waiting for? We have been waiting for the winning

:42:29. > :42:37.streak to go her way. SUE BARKER: Will she get some more?

:42:38. > :42:42.We will find out. Briefly over to Centre Court, dramatic moments, a

:42:43. > :42:46.short time ago, with Novak Djokovic falling very badly on his left

:42:47. > :42:52.shoulder. He had his trainer on the court and the doctor. The medical

:42:53. > :42:56.time-out. There was a worry if he could even continue, he was in such

:42:57. > :43:03.pain. The good news for his fans is that he has continued and he has

:43:04. > :43:06.held his next service game and he is just two points away from getting

:43:07. > :43:13.through to the next round. But that was such a very painful fall. Novak

:43:14. > :43:19.Djokovic leading and you can see that over on BBC One. No worries. He

:43:20. > :43:31.is back playing. It has been a battle out here for Li

:43:32. > :43:36.Na. She has been struggling with a game against Strycova. Serving to

:43:37. > :44:05.stay in the second set. No break of serve since the fifth

:44:06. > :44:08.game of the opening set. Both players doing a very nice job in

:44:09. > :44:15.managing the service game despite lacklustre play. We get the sense

:44:16. > :44:18.that one of the best shots is the return of serve from Li Na. She has

:44:19. > :44:44.to get that going. What Li Na does not want to do is

:44:45. > :44:50.end up in another tie-break! Strycova has won both of her

:44:51. > :44:51.tie-breaks against Li Na. One today and one in their previous meeting at

:44:52. > :45:49.the French Open three years ago Just running through that forehand.

:45:50. > :45:53.She has had a very hard time setting her feet up. She does that naturally

:45:54. > :47:11.on the backhand. That was ever so close. The double

:47:12. > :47:24.fault. The demons are raising their heads. The double fault has made

:47:25. > :47:34.life very difficult. And here is another one. Li Na will take

:47:35. > :48:07.advantage. Strycova is getting so anxious.

:48:08. > :48:17.That was risky from Strycova. After the easy forehand. Then the double

:48:18. > :48:19.fault. She goes for the second serve and she has not hit many of those on

:48:20. > :49:08.the outside. What you said earlier about the easy

:49:09. > :49:16.points that she has one. You can almost write the script. We are

:49:17. > :49:17.going to the second set break. Strycova has not lost any tie-break

:49:18. > :49:50.this year. That is better play, she took some

:49:51. > :49:59.pace from her shot, she had bought top spin, more safety. She is trying

:50:00. > :50:04.desperately hard. -- she had more top spin. Remaining positive

:50:05. > :50:08.throughout this much. She has not played her best tennis. But she is

:50:09. > :50:45.not looking down. Well, she was up with that

:50:46. > :50:48.mini-break. She has had advantages but she has been unable to

:50:49. > :51:07.capitalise. Can she do something here?

:51:08. > :51:17.Are we waiting for Li Na to become inspired? We are waiting for her to

:51:18. > :51:23.do something! Based on being the Grand Slam champion, just this year,

:51:24. > :51:28.expecting a higher level. Especially after losing at the French Open You

:51:29. > :51:52.can see she is hungry to turn that around.

:51:53. > :52:06.What a fantastic defence earlier in the rally from Strycova. She got

:52:07. > :53:20.herself back in position. And she has done it again! She is

:53:21. > :53:25.not afraid to visit the well? I would like to see her hitting some

:53:26. > :53:31.top spin. Instead of just pushing back with the slice. She has not

:53:32. > :53:38.been successful in that pattern Are we on the verge of the biggest upset

:53:39. > :53:44.in the women's draw? Strycova, as you mention, has never beaten any

:53:45. > :53:50.top ten player. She has had plenty of good wins. But this is her best

:53:51. > :54:13.effort so far in her career. This would open up that what portion

:54:14. > :54:18.of the draw. Perhaps Caroline Wozniacki, maybe even Venus

:54:19. > :54:58.Williams... -- bottom portion. That was stunning

:54:59. > :55:02.from Li Na. She does need something to get her going, here. The best

:55:03. > :55:20.backhand of the match so far. Wonderful player! She left that

:55:21. > :55:38.late. The pressure is right back on

:55:39. > :56:16.Strycova. The pressure has been relentless on her back-up team.

:56:17. > :56:21.A deep breath. Potentially two points away from the biggest win of

:56:22. > :56:49.her career. She has got one challenge left. She

:56:50. > :57:02.might as well use it. Sometimes risky to challenge between serves.

:57:03. > :57:05.Or not! It does break up the timing. I have to say, perhaps it is that

:57:06. > :57:14.figure skating background, she is not afraid to take risks.

:57:15. > :57:41.Well, she has been the Queen of the tie-break this year, Strycova. Set

:57:42. > :58:01.point earlier on in this set. This is much point. -- match.

:58:02. > :58:11.That is long. It is being challenged. Her team is not

:58:12. > :58:34.convinced. What a moment! Between them, they have got very few

:58:35. > :58:40.challenges right. Oh, my goodness! 13 focusing... Trying to

:58:41. > :58:46.concentrate. The crowd was on their feet. -- her team. Take a very deep

:58:47. > :59:13.rough. Still, match point. And she is there. Strycova has the

:59:14. > :59:20.biggest win of her career. And the number two seed in the championship

:59:21. > :59:29.is out. That is the biggest upset in the draw so far.

:59:30. > :59:38.SUE BARKER: This is a very vague upset. -- big. Strycova is marching

:59:39. > :59:49.through. But tonight the number two seed. What an upset! -- putting out.

:59:50. > :59:53.Lleyton Hewitt lost a battle. He has come back after saving two different

:59:54. > :59:55.match points against Jerzy Janowicz, there was a semifinalist last year.

:59:56. > :00:13.They will join this one live. They both are playing very pumped up

:00:14. > :00:20.tennis. It is really exciting. Packed crowd. 4000 people. And they

:00:21. > :00:47.have a treat. Vintage Lleyton Hewitt at the moment.

:00:48. > :01:31.That was good from the annelids That was

:01:32. > :02:10.he's 33 now, ranked 48 in the world and injury free.

:02:11. > :02:34.Janowicz was a semifinalist last year.

:02:35. > :03:01.That was good play from the annelids. -- ya know it.

:03:02. > :04:14.It has been exciting. It has been really exciting.

:04:15. > :04:24.Lleyton Hewitt, that sums up his career there. He was getting crushed

:04:25. > :04:30.by the bombardment that Janowicz was raining down on him. There are not

:04:31. > :04:35.many guys that can neutralise a point like this. To be able to dig

:04:36. > :04:38.in a defensive lob against a guy like that, that tells you how

:04:39. > :05:52.specific Lleyton Hewitt is. Lleyton has returned so well. I

:05:53. > :05:54.think when he can get that ball to penetrate nice and deep, he is

:05:55. > :06:18.really in with the shot. I am really impressed with the

:06:19. > :06:24.variations that Janowicz has. He would have been a tall youngster.

:06:25. > :06:31.You see a lot of shorter guys who are great on clay. Not a big tall

:06:32. > :06:55.server who relies on power. Terrific.

:06:56. > :07:02.I think this is where Lleyton, if you can take these bits of

:07:03. > :07:05.confidence, he is starting to see these moments, double faults and

:07:06. > :07:06.doubt, Lleyton has got to take strength from any little thing that

:07:07. > :07:34.he can. It is huge match for Jerzy Janowicz.

:07:35. > :07:40.He burst onto the scene in 2012 Last year he got to the semifinal.

:07:41. > :07:47.Andy Murray beat him. A ranking of 25. If he loses this match, he drops

:07:48. > :07:52.out of the top 50. That is career changing. There is no doubt he will

:07:53. > :07:59.be focusing on the faster courts. He loves playing indoors and the faster

:08:00. > :08:04.hard courts. This is where he knows he has got to bring it. He has got

:08:05. > :08:09.to be playing his best tennis on the grass. And particularly Wimbledon,

:08:10. > :08:19.he loves it here. If he was to go down now, this would be a real blow

:08:20. > :08:23.in his career. He had this match. The way he approached that serve, he

:08:24. > :08:30.will have to think about that. Did he just want to get a quick point? I

:08:31. > :08:37.wonder why he does sometimes go for that drop shot early and sometimes

:08:38. > :08:41.over uses it. He has now got to forget what we have been talking

:08:42. > :09:10.about and concentrate on winning this match.

:09:11. > :09:52.I had the feeling in the third set that Lleyton enjoyed serving first.

:09:53. > :10:03.Outstanding play. I like how he chooses the times. He can see

:10:04. > :10:07.Lleyton moving back against the way he is going to skew this ball. It is

:10:08. > :10:46.almost impossible to stop and get into that short ball.

:10:47. > :10:50.Good acceleration to get up and quickly be able to control that

:10:51. > :11:14.forehand. It is windy today. The flags are

:11:15. > :12:10.really gusting. Janowicz just came off that

:12:11. > :12:16.backhand. He was making clean winners. Yes, he was. He was

:12:17. > :12:46.controlling the point in the rallies.

:12:47. > :12:58.He's going to challenge. He played a full shot after it, to be honest. He

:12:59. > :13:09.might be a little late. He can't challenge this, he has already

:13:10. > :13:52.played the ball. He got that completely wrong.

:13:53. > :14:44.UMPIRE: Warning for audible obscenity, Mr Hewitt. Mate, I said

:14:45. > :14:52.set. I think we know what he thought he said. I am arguing about the

:14:53. > :14:55.word. Don't say anything that is close to another word. That is

:14:56. > :15:10.ridiculous. But a fired up Lleyton Hewitt is not

:15:11. > :16:02.necessarily a bad thing. Hewitt is sitting down. He is not

:16:03. > :16:07.looking at Fergus Murphy or arguing at the moment. But I have never

:16:08. > :16:10.heard that, that it was close to a word he shouldn't have said. The

:16:11. > :16:15.three letter word instead of the four letter word. But he was clearly

:16:16. > :16:21.getting frustrated. The lines person was moving and he wanted him to get

:16:22. > :16:28.out of the way and sit down. The key thing here is for later not to let

:16:29. > :16:39.that completely take his focus away. Not get over frustrated. He has got

:16:40. > :16:53.to get back to that clear thinking. It is so fragile. If it had been

:16:54. > :16:59.Janowicz that it happened too, that would be a game changer. He is upset

:17:00. > :17:04.right now but I can't think it will last very long. It can't. He is

:17:05. > :17:09.going back to his routines. He is pulling up his socks and going back

:17:10. > :17:14.to the things which will make him channel his thoughts again. Lleyton

:17:15. > :17:16.is fro good at that. He will start fixing his strings soon and focus on

:17:17. > :17:41.what he needs to do. An apology but he would do it again

:17:42. > :18:24.if he could. pretty flat and fast. He can close

:18:25. > :18:28.right on top of the net there. Good play. He gets up on top of that

:18:29. > :20:09.volley. CHEERING

:20:10. > :20:19.What a super rally. Janowicz played his part but that is not what Hewitt

:20:20. > :20:24.is thinking. He is so creative. Just thinking all the time. That is a fit

:20:25. > :21:02.lob. -- to restrict lob. There are a lot of Aussies and

:21:03. > :21:21.honorary Aussies around the place. His family and wife are there.

:21:22. > :21:29.We are having a great function tonight at Tennis Australia's house,

:21:30. > :21:39.celebrating Ken Rose will's life and his career.

:21:40. > :21:56.Every year they have a dinner for a past champion.

:21:57. > :22:09.The feat not moving on that occasion from Janowicz. A low bounce down

:22:10. > :22:13.there. Janowicz looked down. There was nothing he could do about it. He

:22:14. > :23:11.is six foot eight, that is a long way down!

:23:12. > :23:22.The doubles are hurting him. This is where more reason for Lleyton to try

:23:23. > :23:55.to make the return. Put pressure on the serve.

:23:56. > :24:50.Break point for Hewitt. The first break in this set.

:24:51. > :24:54.He was dicing with death. That second serve was just inside the

:24:55. > :25:06.line. A well constructive point from

:25:07. > :25:24.Janowicz. Really difficult for Hewitt to crane traction.

:25:25. > :25:56.Well played, Hewitt. He had the ideal riposte.

:25:57. > :26:23.He is challenging. It is the far side from us.

:26:24. > :26:37.Same again! Hewitt has got his tail up. He is a break up in this fourth

:26:38. > :26:42.set. SUE BARKER: You can never count this

:26:43. > :26:50.man out, can you. We will be right back with this match in just a

:26:51. > :26:56.moment. There has been plenty happening elsewhere. Novak Djokovic

:26:57. > :26:59.fell and landed heavily on his left shoulder. He had the trainer and

:27:00. > :27:05.Doctor on court. There were some very worrying looks from his camp,

:27:06. > :27:12.from Boris Becker his coach, but the good news is, he was able to carry

:27:13. > :27:13.on. Then he had match point against Gilles Simon from France. Novak

:27:14. > :27:33.Djokovic finishes it off. A worrying time for the top seed,

:27:34. > :27:37.the bookies' favourite, Novak Djokovic. No doubt he will have

:27:38. > :27:41.plenty of treatment over the weekend but he will be back for a

:27:42. > :27:50.fourth-round match on Monday. We know that he will face Jo-Wilfried

:27:51. > :27:56.Tsonga, the 14th seed. He has had to battle through two five set matches

:27:57. > :28:00.but he is through. It is Djokovic against Tsonga on Monday. That is

:28:01. > :28:07.what has been happening elsewhere. This is on BBC One at the moment.

:28:08. > :28:08.Venus Williams is 2-1 up against Petra Kvitova in the battle of the

:28:09. > :28:27.former champions. Right now, Hewitt is becoming the

:28:28. > :28:42.favourite. Sometimes your strengths become your biggest weaknesses.

:28:43. > :28:46.The two things Janowicz has been glueing to is the big first serve

:28:47. > :29:32.and the drop shot. nothing quiet about Lleyton Hewitt

:29:33. > :29:34.whenever he is in this mood. On less Janowicz can find his game, which

:29:35. > :29:51.was so potent yesterday. -- unless. He is so fast. Janowicz has to earn

:29:52. > :30:53.every single point. It is there, sporadically. Other

:30:54. > :30:55.times, it just collapses. The drive and that synchronicity, he loses

:30:56. > :31:13.that trophy position. What was that? Second serve, and

:31:14. > :31:18.then that slap. I think he is just frustrated, he wants those quick

:31:19. > :31:32.points. Just in the middle of nowhere.

:31:33. > :31:46.He is not helping himself. You can feel his head whirling around.

:31:47. > :31:47.Everything is going fast for him. He must slow things down just a

:31:48. > :32:07.fraction. More composure. Well, that is fine when you trust

:32:08. > :32:12.that second serve, you can go for more on that first shot. But not

:32:13. > :32:19.when everything is starting to go. There must be some discipline.

:32:20. > :32:36.Not sure about that. But it worked. High-risk, but that does show where

:32:37. > :32:45.his minders. -- mind is. That was his quickest service so far.

:32:46. > :32:52.There is no doubt that he is dangerous when he is in this

:32:53. > :32:59.mindset, you can think, I am out of this set, I am going to swing.

:33:00. > :33:07.Hewitt Pastorelli get the simple stuff done very well in this. - has

:33:08. > :33:14.to get. He cannot be risky, he does not need to hit him off the court,

:33:15. > :33:19.working around the court. And just hope that Janowicz is going to be

:33:20. > :33:25.risky, which he has been over the last three games. He has just lost

:33:26. > :33:38.his plot. It is at moments like this, in his in his DNA? He was once

:33:39. > :33:43.so hungry for every point. He could find that moment in every match

:33:44. > :33:47.like a sniffer dog, he will find what he is looking for. He is

:33:48. > :33:55.terrific at that and his ability to stay with his opponent all the way

:33:56. > :34:03.through the match and then at. - strike. The Australian camp, sitting

:34:04. > :34:09.there and urging him on. They look worn out, to be honest. Three hours

:34:10. > :34:22.and eight minutes, in total. Down the line. Janowicz is not going

:34:23. > :35:09.to challenge. That was creditable. He stuck in

:35:10. > :35:13.there. Depicting. Very solid. He worked for that point, 14 strokes.

:35:14. > :35:43.Not many longer. So good! What a lovely shot. What an

:35:44. > :35:51.incredible turnaround? Just thinking his way through this. Great touch,

:35:52. > :35:57.there. Hewitt throwing himself around, trying to stay in this

:35:58. > :36:04.rally, getting everything he can out of himself.

:36:05. > :37:10.Another drop shot. He is not bad at them but there is too many. He is

:37:11. > :37:19.starting to read the play. He can read the racquet. He is playing

:37:20. > :37:48.great chess. And he has one move in front of his opponent. Set point.

:37:49. > :37:56.We have not seen that for a while. It started paying shot after shot

:37:57. > :37:59.like that, clean winner when he needed it. And one more when he

:38:00. > :38:35.needed it. -- he find. You have to love it! He plays with

:38:36. > :39:10.the youthfulness of a teenager. He gets so excited about these things.

:39:11. > :39:23.The crowd have got what they want. They go to the deciding set.

:39:24. > :39:28.SUE BARKER: What a fighter! He saved two different match points. He is

:39:29. > :39:36.very much in the ascendancy. We will be back. Over on Centre Court, this

:39:37. > :39:43.is live on BBC One, between former champions, the five-time winner

:39:44. > :39:50.Venus Williams. That is over on BBC One. So much tennis going on. Grigor

:39:51. > :39:55.Dimitrov up against Alexandr Dolgopolov, that is wonderful as

:39:56. > :40:06.well. That is live on the Red Button. As is this. Between Dominika

:40:07. > :40:12.Cibulkova, up against Lucie Safarova. And Lucie Safarova could

:40:13. > :40:18.cause an upset, here, beating her opponent and she has set point in

:40:19. > :40:35.the opening set. We will just stay to see this. Can she clinched the

:40:36. > :40:40.first set? -- clench. -- clinch No, the fight goes on. We will keep you

:40:41. > :40:44.up-to-date with all that is happening around Wimbledon. Let us

:40:45. > :40:51.go back to what promises to be a thrilling fifth set.

:40:52. > :41:01.Lleyton Hewitt milking the moment. As we said earlier today, it is

:41:02. > :41:07.moments like this that other reason still plays. Injuries have really

:41:08. > :41:12.hurt him in the last few years and nobody knows better than his

:41:13. > :41:21.family. Injury free for most of this year. And he has played very well.

:41:22. > :41:26.Grand Slams, not notch, eaten in the first round of Australia and Roland

:41:27. > :41:35.Garros. Wimbledon is his final and favourite tournament. -- beaten The

:41:36. > :41:45.momentum is so totally with him right now.

:41:46. > :41:48.We saw some glimpses of what he needed to do at the end of that

:41:49. > :42:34.fourth set. Just not enough. land. Not sure what to do with that

:42:35. > :42:39.first shot. It is rather odd. Just a little bit slow to really get in and

:42:40. > :43:17.commit to that shot, he just stands there, what do I do?

:43:18. > :43:28.Janowicz must have thought that was not coming back. And yet, one moment

:43:29. > :43:37.later, it has. That speaks for itself, doesn't it? Beautiful.

:43:38. > :43:48.Yes. Clinical and that first serve goes in. But it has not been working

:43:49. > :43:53.for him when he has needed that Under pressure. That equals his

:43:54. > :44:08.fastest serve so far. He has closed down the centre of the

:44:09. > :44:51.court very well. That smash, again. After all the adrenaline rush of

:44:52. > :45:22.winning that's it, he has calmed down. -- that set.

:45:23. > :45:40.Screaming up to his coach. On the right.

:45:41. > :45:59.So many times this serve has saved him.

:46:00. > :46:05.Good change from Janowicz. Hewitt was leaning through the centre. That

:46:06. > :46:40.has been so effective. Holding things together, somehow. He

:46:41. > :46:46.must be seething inside. Because that lead has gone. This is a

:46:47. > :46:51.crucial match in his career, if he loses this, life is going to get

:46:52. > :47:01.tougher when he is ranked outside the top 50. Especially losing from

:47:02. > :47:09.two sets. He can look at this and take a leaf out of Lleyton Hewitt's

:47:10. > :47:16.but, his ability to be disciplined and I feel that is really what Jerzy

:47:17. > :47:21.Janowicz needs. He was in total control of this match. Bright

:47:22. > :47:39.sunshine. Quite breezy. This is a much more open court than

:47:40. > :48:15.the others. You would think the physical side of

:48:16. > :48:20.this match is going to worry Hewitt, ten years of a difference. Is that

:48:21. > :48:31.going to be some part of this? I cannot think so.

:48:32. > :48:43.Perhaps he is thinking, I am really lucky I am not playing five sets

:48:44. > :48:45.today. We are one hour and more than 20 minutes last night. We have only

:48:46. > :49:16.been playing for a couple of hours. Just a little bit erratic at times.

:49:17. > :49:22.It is, and I am thinking if Lleyton Hewitt stays with it, I know who I

:49:23. > :49:29.would fancy. Yes. But you never know.

:49:30. > :49:45.Janowicz is a very good frontrunner and he does serve well but if

:49:46. > :49:47.Lleyton Hewitt can keep things even, there must be that seed of doubt on

:49:48. > :49:58.the second serve. And even more pressure because of

:49:59. > :50:20.the way that he is returning? The man is there.

:50:21. > :50:42.He really reads this perfectly, he uses his pace perfectly.

:50:43. > :50:51.I was going to say, that is a very good sign from Lleyton Hewitt, he

:50:52. > :50:54.has not find his forehand today and some solid returns there. And then

:50:55. > :51:19.he got caught on that return. Little slap on the serve. This must

:51:20. > :51:25.be so encouraging for Hewitt because of the run he has had, he says he is

:51:26. > :51:29.enjoying tennis, he is injury free. But with the run he had come into

:51:30. > :51:39.this tournament, second round at Queen's but he lost five out of six

:51:40. > :51:43.matches coming here. You feel this is probably the best he has played

:51:44. > :51:48.in a couple of months. He always has a way of thinking the glass is

:51:49. > :51:54.half-full. He will be thinking, I am fresh. I am ready to play, I have

:51:55. > :51:59.not played many matches and I am great, physically. Deep down, he

:52:00. > :52:05.just wants to leave behind any legacy of, I am a fighter, I love

:52:06. > :52:10.this game, but the purpose for him to play has to be so deep and

:52:11. > :52:20.strong. 33 years old. And he is still here. He has made $20 million

:52:21. > :52:26.on court. Double that of the court. Great career, financially. He keeps

:52:27. > :52:31.coming up with reasons and that is what makes him so great, he is a

:52:32. > :52:35.team player, his camaraderie with the younger boys in Australia and

:52:36. > :52:40.the other players is phenomenal He is a great leader. You can hear that

:52:41. > :53:03.whenever he commentates. We have had some and a great past

:53:04. > :53:16.champions and he loves that legacy. He loves knowing all about them

:53:17. > :53:46.Only his second double fault in the match. Unlike his opponent.

:53:47. > :53:55.He was full of doubt if that ball was going to land in or out. Just

:53:56. > :53:58.in. It is hard when there was not a lot of energy in the ball to really

:53:59. > :54:04.excel at, particularly on that forehand side. -- accelerate. Is

:54:05. > :54:53.there a chance? Great scrap. Hewitt has toe pick is

:54:54. > :54:55.so, the volley was not as good as he wanted but he stays in that forehand

:54:56. > :55:25.cross. He is going crazy! Hewitt is well

:55:26. > :55:36.known for his reaction but look at that. Well, that was not in the

:55:37. > :55:42.script. He has a healthy lead. Can he hang on? So, Hewitt will believe

:55:43. > :57:03.he can turn this around. Such communication between Janowicz

:57:04. > :57:10.and his cab. After every single point. -- camp. The pendulum is

:57:11. > :57:31.moving his way again. Extraordinary moment, he is playing

:57:32. > :57:37.so well. 4-1. SUE BARKER: It does sound like a

:57:38. > :57:44.lot. Straight back in a moment. One result from earlier, Kevin Anderson

:57:45. > :57:50.is through against Fabio Fognini. He went the distance. The first South

:57:51. > :57:58.African man into the fourth round. Since Wayne Ferrera in 2000. Next

:57:59. > :58:08.up, it could be Andy Murray, if his Wimbledon story continues with a win

:58:09. > :58:19.today. He steps back out, expectation is very high. Very firm

:58:20. > :58:28.hold on this opening round. What a perfect start! Blaz Rola, he has

:58:29. > :58:36.admired Andy Murray for some time. Double break. He is romping with

:58:37. > :58:44.this one. As comprehensive a victory as you are likely to see. Andy

:58:45. > :58:50.Murray rumbles on. Two straight set victories, he is up against Roberto

:58:51. > :58:54.Bautista-Agut later on today. This is after this match is completed

:58:55. > :59:00.between Venus Williams and Petra Kvitova. Venus Williams has taken

:59:01. > :59:06.the first set, that is on BBC One. We shall go back...

:59:07. > :59:41.life, coming back from being two sets down.

:59:42. > :59:43.I do not know who has got the greatest adrenaline running through

:59:44. > :00:02.their body. This has been a terrific match from

:00:03. > :00:06.both players. But Lleyton Hewitt must dig deep. And hope that this

:00:07. > :00:22.bubble bursts. No signs of it happening at the

:00:23. > :00:31.moment. His serve has been permissible but

:00:32. > :01:14.occasionally it has I think it missed but not by much.

:01:15. > :01:26.It was swinging in but not in time to get the line. It was that close!

:01:27. > :01:44.Break point for a double break. Game, Janowicz. Don't tell that to

:01:45. > :02:09.Lleyton Hewitt right now. A phenomenal turnaround. Janowicz is

:02:10. > :02:16.a new man. Hewitt has made too many mistakes. Janowicz has been

:02:17. > :02:24.inspired. Serving for the match Three hours, 37 minutes.

:02:25. > :03:10.I said at the beginning, this is when he is in position, it is

:03:11. > :03:15.dangerous. And it has been unfortunate Lleyton has not been

:03:16. > :03:30.able to hang in there, keep the scoreboard pressure on this man

:03:31. > :03:36.The crowd are thinking that because of what Hewitt has achieved and

:03:37. > :05:15.everywhere else around the world. Yes.

:05:16. > :05:27.I love the way how Lleyton runs over to the chair, he looks over and says

:05:28. > :05:34.I am still here. Bringing a great attitude. And if he can hold serve,

:05:35. > :05:41.5-3 is a different story to 5-1 Now, a bit of that pressure may

:05:42. > :05:50.return will stop but Lleyton has to somehow find a way to just get some

:05:51. > :05:54.good first serves in here. Janowicz is free swinging at the moment. He

:05:55. > :05:59.has his nose in front and is the link Willy pumped up. The match has

:06:00. > :06:21.ignited the crowd. -- he is really pumped up. The

:06:22. > :06:26.essence of battle! It is driving him on. He is still in the match and in

:06:27. > :07:01.the moment. He saves the match, it will be one

:07:02. > :07:21.of the biggest saves of his career. This is exactly what builds

:07:22. > :07:23.confidence for Lleyton. Knowing Janowicz will play some erratic

:07:24. > :08:20.shots, he will go for it. Because if the is going to do that

:08:21. > :08:22.in his next game, if Lleyton is to Because if the is going to do that

:08:23. > :08:28.in his next game, if Lleyton hold on, he will get free points, he is

:08:29. > :09:10.going to get tight at some moment on the second serve.

:09:11. > :09:36.So, this is it for Janowicz. One of the most important games of his

:09:37. > :09:51.career. Serving for the second time for the match.

:09:52. > :09:56.A bit of a slip of the foot from Janowicz when he came in, almost

:09:57. > :10:33.thought a little off-balance. 134 miles an hour that serve, the

:10:34. > :11:25.quickest of the match. He did very well, that second shot.

:11:26. > :11:32.He really went for the second serve, didn't you? This is it. Three match

:11:33. > :12:23.points for the number 15 seed. A standing ovation.

:12:24. > :12:24.APPLAUSE Perhaps the most important match of

:12:25. > :12:38.his career and he came through it. Hats off to Janowicz. Incredible

:12:39. > :13:05.turnaround from the fourth set. For once, Rocky didn't ring the

:13:06. > :13:15.bell. Some extraordinary memories. APPLAUSE

:13:16. > :13:18.A huge ovation. A lots of positives to take from that for Lleyton

:13:19. > :13:20.Hewitt, not that he will be feeling it right now. His ability to fight

:13:21. > :13:35.and believe in himself. STUDIO:

:13:36. > :13:40.Well done to Janowicz playing Robredo tomorrow. Lleyton Hewitt,

:13:41. > :13:43.what a battler. He is out of Wimbledon, you wonder whether he

:13:44. > :13:48.will be back again as the years go on. I hope that wasn't the end and

:13:49. > :13:53.he will fight again. After all the surgeries he has had, he is fighting

:13:54. > :13:58.a battle to be fit enough to be on court. What a great match he has

:13:59. > :14:05.given us out on Court Two. Janowicz is through. This was scary moments

:14:06. > :14:09.for the Djokovic camp and Djokovic in south as he felt awkwardly

:14:10. > :14:15.injuring his left shoulder. He looked down in excruciating pain.

:14:16. > :14:20.The train and the doctor were on court but he was able to carry on.

:14:21. > :14:29.It was towards the end of the match and he was able to finish it off in

:14:30. > :14:37.straight sets. They were long and testing rallies for Djokovic. That

:14:38. > :14:40.finished it off and a relieved Djokovic is through and no doubt

:14:41. > :14:49.straight to the medical room to get some treatment. He will be back on

:14:50. > :14:54.Monday, hopefully fit and well. Djokovic is through and next he

:14:55. > :15:03.faces Tsonga who won in straight sets today after winning a thriller

:15:04. > :15:10.defeating the qualifier, Wang. Tsonga is through and will he give

:15:11. > :15:17.us the celebration again? I wonder. You know the crowd loves it! Yes! He

:15:18. > :15:24.will be back on Monday to face Djokovic. The biggest shock so far

:15:25. > :15:36.out on Court Number One, the number two seed Li Na is out. The two-time

:15:37. > :15:42.Grand Slam winner ending on a double fault losing to Strycova. A huge

:15:43. > :15:50.upset for the Australian Open champion who is out. Next is

:15:51. > :15:57.Wozniacki, the 16th seed, a comfortable win for her today. She

:15:58. > :16:06.paid a 16-year-old from Croatia and we will hear more from her. Caroline

:16:07. > :16:15.is on court on Monday to face Strycova. Halep at a scare against

:16:16. > :16:30.the Ukrainian, Sorrento. She went the distance.

:16:31. > :16:47.-- Tsurenko. Centre Court, Venus Williams has taken the first set

:16:48. > :16:55.against Kvitova. That is live on BBC1. Next up on Centre Court is

:16:56. > :17:00.Andy Murray in his third round match against Agut. 20 to come on Centre

:17:01. > :17:06.Court. We are heading over to Court Number One -- plenty to come.

:17:07. > :17:18.Dimitrov won at Queen's but has lost the opening set to Dolgopolov.

:17:19. > :17:22.COMMENTATOR: The man of the moment in trouble at

:17:23. > :17:28.the moment. He hasn't lost serve yet Dimitrov.

:17:29. > :17:42.The story of the match so far in his opening service game recovering from

:17:43. > :18:00.15-40, Dolgopolov has not offered a break point late yet. It went to a

:18:01. > :18:04.tie-break and Dolgopolov raced through seven - three, ten aces in

:18:05. > :18:12.the opening set for the Ukrainian. 42 minute set.

:18:13. > :18:22.Brilliant. We have seen plenty of that, too. On serve in the second.

:18:23. > :18:30.It was one of the pics of the third round, a shock -fest in the making.

:18:31. > :18:41.It hasn't disappointed at all. So far.

:18:42. > :18:47.Both have been dominant on serve. Three break points for Dolgopolov,

:18:48. > :19:05.none of which she has converted No surprise, really, the way

:19:06. > :19:11.Dimitrov has played. His grasscourt form has been so brilliant over the

:19:12. > :19:25.last month or so. The way Dolgopolov has served is eye-popping.

:19:26. > :19:33.Great variety, great mix. He still hasn't hit one body serve. He's

:19:34. > :19:35.going for the lines. In all of the four Kaunas, evenly split. Tough to

:19:36. > :19:51.read. Such quick action. -- corners. 42 aces in a second round against

:19:52. > :20:22.Becker over four sets, no break points against the qualifier.

:20:23. > :20:25.Perhaps we will see Dimitrov starting to venture forward a little

:20:26. > :21:30.more. Once again, terrific defence from

:21:31. > :22:09.the Bulgarian. This is a breakthrough, 30-30.

:22:10. > :22:13.ordinary chip and charge. 105 miles an hour. And it was deep. The slice

:22:14. > :22:30.had a lot of pace to it. That is the way you play a break

:22:31. > :22:50.point down! So much kick, too. Lost his first serve for the first

:22:51. > :23:42.time in the match consistently. APPLAUSE

:23:43. > :23:56.So much to admire, again. The longest rally of the match by far.

:23:57. > :24:29.Dimitrov is pretty convinced he has got the break gifted. Hawk-Eye will

:24:30. > :24:35.confirm it. The first double fault by Dolgopolov in the match. And that

:24:36. > :24:42.is the game that Dimitrov has been waiting for. Not a huge dip in

:24:43. > :24:47.Dolgopolov serving percentages but he missed quite a few first service

:24:48. > :24:52.that allowed Dimitrov to get in the valleys -- volleys and attack second

:24:53. > :25:03.serves. And just the extra pressure perhaps inhibited that break point

:25:04. > :25:08.second serve. And Dimitrov now will want to consolidate the break with

:25:09. > :25:16.another hold of serve but I have a feeling he will be resting a little

:25:17. > :25:23.bit easier right now. Knowing that all right, Dolgopolov has not become

:25:24. > :25:28.this otherworldly human being! He has so much spring in his feet and

:25:29. > :25:35.his legs. It is like he walks on springs! The taskmaster, together

:25:36. > :25:40.since October last year and a huge difference he has made to Dimitrov.

:25:41. > :25:46.And Maria Sharapova, girlfriend has made a big difference and the

:25:47. > :25:49.demands and ambitions she have for herself -- she has for herself rubs

:25:50. > :26:02.off. 23 years old, Dimitrov. He got early wildcards at the

:26:03. > :26:09.tournament in Queen's and that was when he came to our attention as a

:26:10. > :26:10.beautiful tennis player. Fabulous that he would repay Queen's by

:26:11. > :27:03.winning the title and coming here. More shots in this match than any

:27:04. > :27:20.saloon! Just throwing so many different plays at each other.

:27:21. > :27:33.That is his most devastating plague. -- play. A slight mishit off the

:27:34. > :27:53.return. Left the ball sitting invitingly.

:27:54. > :29:14.Terrific response from the double faults, three points in a row.

:29:15. > :30:00.Dimitrov defends so well in the forehand corner. Slides into the

:30:01. > :30:11.ball and still manages to return it with quite a bit of pace.

:30:12. > :30:24.He has got him! APPLAUSE

:30:25. > :30:37.Dolgopolov outfoxed himself. Watch this. He could have smashed this. He

:30:38. > :31:04.hit it into the crowd. -- he could have smashed it into the crowd.

:31:05. > :31:35.It did not seem to affect his self-confidence at all, did it?

:31:36. > :31:57.So, the serve it out question for Dimmock. He has not been broken in

:31:58. > :32:02.the tournament, yet. He can't afford a slip-up, though. -- Dimmock roles.

:32:03. > :32:06.It is wonderful to see this man come of age but also Dolgopolov, who was

:32:07. > :32:10.exciting everybody sometime ago He made the quarterfinals of the

:32:11. > :32:14.Australian Open in 2011, beaten by Murray but he is putting a wonderful

:32:15. > :32:17.year together this year, beaten in the quarterfinal in Rio, the

:32:18. > :32:23.semifinal in Acapulco and Indian Wells, where he need Rafa -- beat

:32:24. > :32:28.Rafa an adult and Milos Raonic. He is back in the top 20, Dolgopolov.

:32:29. > :32:35.These two are very good for the grain. Absolutely, no dearth of

:32:36. > :32:39.variety. Both guys hitting every shot in the book and most of them

:32:40. > :32:47.going in. -- very good that the game. And of course, Dolgopolov

:32:48. > :33:07.doing his job in the last service game, forcing to come out and serve

:33:08. > :33:22.for the set -- forcing Dmitov. Dmitrov. Dimmock

:33:23. > :33:30.wow! He never does anything simply, Darcy? He has got a vivid

:33:31. > :33:33.imagination, that is the shore - does he.

:33:34. > :34:38.He has just gone off the boil in the last ten minutes or so. Two set

:34:39. > :35:10.points, Dmitrov. He got that slide wrong. His foot

:35:11. > :35:20.got stuck in the grass. It is amazing it does not happen more

:35:21. > :35:29.often. Still set points. -- set point. APPLAUSE

:35:30. > :35:37.Plenty around this number one Court crowd are very pleased it is 1- .

:35:38. > :35:45.This is a special match in terms of the variety that we have seen from

:35:46. > :35:49.the very first ball. They were top level, immediately. This has got the

:35:50. > :35:55.makings of a very long, tough battle. It sure has. Apart from that

:35:56. > :36:04.one service game where you might, if you were being hypercritical, say

:36:05. > :36:08.that Dolgopolov's standards dropped a tiny bit, apart from that game,

:36:09. > :36:18.the standard has been incredibly high. It is a big, big difference

:36:19. > :36:28.that Roger Rashid has made. To Maria Sharapova, to, as well as Dmitrov.

:36:29. > :36:32.That moment, in the Queen 's final, if we can go back to it, Peter, when

:36:33. > :36:36.he had just won the second set on a tie-break, the first was a breaker,

:36:37. > :36:41.he worked so hard to get back into the final and he was 40-0 up in the

:36:42. > :36:45.first game of the final set and dropped serve. Roger Rashid was so

:36:46. > :36:52.angry. He deliberately let Dmitrov see it. It is that kind of attitude,

:36:53. > :37:04.the toughening that he has brought to the Bulgarian.

:37:05. > :37:12.Yes, the point you make about Maria Sharapova is a valid one. Through

:37:13. > :37:15.her professionalism, she has a champion's mentality. Just by being

:37:16. > :37:24.around people like that, you just feel the vibe. I am sure that has

:37:25. > :37:30.helped Grigor Dimitrov mature as a player.

:37:31. > :37:44.He went the wrong way! You stay at the same end excavation mark -- at

:37:45. > :38:22.the same end! One set all, Dolgopolov to begin

:38:23. > :38:39.It is etiquette to apologise, but he will take it. That was perhaps a

:38:40. > :38:42.mental error from Dolgopolov. He just did not quite lock in on his

:38:43. > :38:47.target as he should have, and now he is in a bit of trouble. For the

:38:48. > :39:56.first time, 0-30. Dmitrov had hit two very deep

:39:57. > :39:57.slices, and perhaps thought Dolgopolov would not be alert to the

:39:58. > :40:07.short one. So far in the match, there has only

:40:08. > :40:31.been one body serve from both. It is interesting, the umpire asked

:40:32. > :40:38.the linesman, Dmitrov, if he was sure, and Mohammed Lay Arnie -- the

:40:39. > :41:03.umpire told him to talk to him. The last thing Dolgopolov needed was

:41:04. > :41:08.to dump serve at the start of the third set. That would have turned

:41:09. > :41:11.the tables in terms of momentum It is amazing how in some way 's, they

:41:12. > :41:19.mirror each other in their game plans. -- some ways. It is such a

:41:20. > :41:22.good mix, to all the corners for Dmitrov on serve. They are trying to

:41:23. > :41:23.keep each other guessing all the time, varying the spin and pace

:41:24. > :41:46.aiming at the corners. That was out of the do shop, I

:41:47. > :41:50.think. -- do it yourself shop. Commenting on the number of net

:41:51. > :41:54.cords Dmitrov Assad, he adapts and you have to be relaxed to do that.

:41:55. > :42:03.-- Dmitrov has had. He does not have many issues with that.

:42:04. > :42:13.Trouble here, for Dmitrov, unbroken in the tournament so far. He saved

:42:14. > :42:18.four break points against Ryan Harrison. Just one against Luke

:42:19. > :42:31.Saville, the two qualifiers he has beaten so far.

:42:32. > :42:41.Ouch! It was about the start of last year when Dmitrov went through a

:42:42. > :42:49.patch of double faulting at the wrong time. He seemed to have

:42:50. > :43:13.overcome it. But that was his fourth.

:43:14. > :43:20.A gutsy second serve at the start of the point. The wind has really

:43:21. > :43:51.picked up suddenly. Two saved, one to go. Coached by his

:43:52. > :44:05.father again, Dolgopolov. A former player.

:44:06. > :44:10.It is the opposite to what happened at Queen's, 40-0, broken, but 0 40

:44:11. > :44:35.would be a great save. None from six on break point, so

:44:36. > :44:53.far. UMPIRE: Stop! Mr Dolgopolov is

:44:54. > :44:59.challenging the call on the left service line. The ball was called

:45:00. > :45:02.in. Did you see the puff of white? What a gamble this was. His return

:45:03. > :45:07.went into play and it landed deep. He was in the rally. The call

:45:08. > :45:33.stands. Brain freeze. Deuce. Wow. Even if the challenge had been

:45:34. > :45:37.correct, Dmitrov still would have had a second serve. He has got

:45:38. > :46:05.another opportunity. Wow. Well, it is his turn to have a

:46:06. > :46:09.lull on serve. I mean, the standard and the quality has been so high,

:46:10. > :46:13.for so long. It is really not surprising. They could never have

:46:14. > :46:15.maintained it throughout the match. They have now both had a bit of a

:46:16. > :46:28.lull. Perhaps not. However, when Roger

:46:29. > :46:36.Rashid goes back and watches this match again, this moment may just be

:46:37. > :46:45.the one where he will say, " that is what cost us".

:46:46. > :46:49.He will be back in the canoe, going back up the rapid the wrong way

:46:50. > :47:42.again. Yikes! Just the second double. He

:47:43. > :47:44.has only served 144 in each of his two previous matches. -- one

:47:45. > :47:51.double-faulted. He has raced into a 3-0 lead in the

:47:52. > :48:08.third set. It does not take long on a grass

:48:09. > :48:16.court, does it, for the momentum to switch. Certainly not when you have

:48:17. > :48:25.two servers like these two. Just one poor service game, something

:48:26. > :48:34.subpar, you go down a break, and it just might mean you lose the set.

:48:35. > :48:44.Look at that. We have seen some remarkable shots, haven't we? Such

:48:45. > :48:48.gifted tennis players. They are working so hard to conjure up

:48:49. > :49:01.something special, different, to make the difference.

:49:02. > :49:12.That is the confirmation, nobody serves at all. It is literally, just

:49:13. > :49:13.the one. - no body serves. Right into the corner. They are going bold

:49:14. > :49:22.and aggressive. One hour 31 minutes, the 11th seed,

:49:23. > :50:04.0-3, third set. It is obviously a pattern they have

:50:05. > :50:10.both employed in the tournament Between them, there were only 1

:50:11. > :50:42.wadi serves -- body serves in the four matches they have played.

:50:43. > :51:02.He got a great read on that one such an early return.

:51:03. > :51:46.APPLAUSE Back on the scoreboard, Dmitrov

:51:47. > :51:50.He just needs to keep putting returns back into play. It is what

:51:51. > :52:46.he does well. APPLAUSE

:52:47. > :53:06.That is terrific stuff. OK, now, do it again. And again and

:53:07. > :53:22.again. And maybe you are back in the set.

:53:23. > :53:32.Brilliant. The pace he got on that. Brilliant use of the kick on the

:53:33. > :53:53.serve, to create the pace on the slice.

:53:54. > :55:20.I suppose it was inevitable that the standard of play had to dip debit

:55:21. > :55:45.from the first set of a Interesting that he would change the

:55:46. > :55:47.choice, having just sliced it brilliantly back down the middle.

:55:48. > :56:33.That was so ambitious. APPLAUSE

:56:34. > :56:43.He says the break point and extend the lead. -- he saves the break

:56:44. > :56:49.point and extend the lead. He continues to change things up

:56:50. > :56:54.beautifully, Dolgopolov. The second serve, 98 mph, aided by the fact it

:56:55. > :57:01.hit the service line, which I am sure completely convoluted

:57:02. > :57:06.Dmitrov's timing of the return. But serve-volley behind it, the second

:57:07. > :57:14.serve. That might only be the first or second time he has used it today.

:57:15. > :57:19.Yes, sparsely used. They are very reticent or careful about when they

:57:20. > :57:27.approached the net. We have seen some amazing passing shots. People,

:57:28. > :57:30.just taking a breather. Tennis players cannot. They can sit down

:57:31. > :57:34.and collect their thoughts. At the end of the first set, Dolgopolov

:57:35. > :57:40.took a comfort break, after 42 minutes of a high-intensity first

:57:41. > :57:46.set. Everybody is thoroughly enjoying the continued shop fest,

:57:47. > :57:47.here, and they are taking it home, fond memories of their day at

:57:48. > :58:08.Wimbledon. -- shot fest. He had a chance in the last game,

:58:09. > :58:09.Dmitrov. The break point has been and gone. One from three, now, so

:58:10. > :58:55.holding is a must. Maybe he made his only because that

:58:56. > :59:02.is an extraordinary flick of the wrist. -- made his own luck. Dmitrov

:59:03. > :59:09.perplexed Dolgopolov with this. Look at that. It was a good flick but it

:59:10. > :59:43.is about the fourth or fifth won the Bulgarian has pulled off.

:59:44. > :59:50.It is getting to him, all the net cords as well. At least he can smile

:59:51. > :00:42.about it. Probably more of a grimace.

:00:43. > :01:25.frame. And that is pretty much all you can

:01:26. > :01:38.do. From the framing, to the top of the net. He is just saying, what you

:01:39. > :02:02.doing to me here? They say they even out. But he is owed five.

:02:03. > :02:28.He is enjoying the luck. If not the scoreboard.

:02:29. > :02:32.There was none of this for a set and a half. High-quality, every single

:02:33. > :03:05.point. The intensity has been immense. For

:03:06. > :03:09.virtually all of this match. It is exhausting. Remarkable they kept it

:03:10. > :03:28.up for as long as they did. So quick. That is why you have to be

:03:29. > :03:36.careful when they come in. They both dealt with it brilliantly. And make

:03:37. > :03:39.no mistake, the intensity has not slipped more than 3%. It is still

:03:40. > :03:57.incredibly high quality. Well inside the baseline. And a

:03:58. > :05:24.stunner. He played that beautifully. Very

:05:25. > :05:25.low. He caught off-guard. -- caught him off guard and he adjusted

:05:26. > :05:45.brilliantly. He has certainly picked the serve

:05:46. > :05:52.better, Dimitrov. Ten aces in the first set and only four since.

:05:53. > :06:00.Maybe that is what is getting under the Ukrainian's skin.

:06:01. > :06:55.Dolgopolov holds. He leads five -- to in the third set.

:06:56. > :07:01.-- 5-2. SUE BARKER: The match goes on and Dimitrov will be serving to

:07:02. > :07:04.stay in the third set. And here is Andy Murray, out on the practice

:07:05. > :07:08.court earlier today. But he will be stepping onto centre court later on

:07:09. > :07:18.this evening, after the Kvitova Williams match come up against

:07:19. > :07:22.Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain. Docking of that match, it is going

:07:23. > :07:29.the distance. One set all between these two former champions, Kvitova

:07:30. > :07:36.and Venus Williams. On serve in the third and final set. That match is

:07:37. > :07:40.live on BBC One. On court two, Radwanska has come to be taken the

:07:41. > :07:49.opening set. The fourth seed is the highest seed left in the bottom half

:07:50. > :07:57.of the draw. And on court 12, Sergiy Stakhovsky is now two sets to one

:07:58. > :08:01.down against Jeremy Chardy. That match also on the red button. Back

:08:02. > :08:13.we go to court number one. The nasty looking clouds have gone

:08:14. > :08:23.away. The most magnificent evening in the making. The nest to match. --

:08:24. > :09:28.tennis. Neither man has been in the fourth round before.

:09:29. > :09:37.Dimitrov wants to hold serve here. Obviously, he wants to stay

:09:38. > :09:38.competitive but he at the very least wants to serve first to start a

:09:39. > :10:03.fourth. It is almost as though they are

:10:04. > :10:21.mentally fatigued. No, they played two hours of really arduous tennis.

:10:22. > :10:53.And pressure packed tennis. There have not been many break points

:10:54. > :11:03.What a spectacular way to finish the third set. No wonder his father is

:11:04. > :11:10.out of his chair. Dolgopolov, two sets to one after an hour and 5

:11:11. > :11:17.minutes. And this is now a real test of Grigor Dimitrov's championship

:11:18. > :11:22.quality. We see him leave the court, both players now going off for a

:11:23. > :11:26.toilet break. People came into this event thinking about Dimitrov as a

:11:27. > :11:32.potential future grand slam champion. And you would have to

:11:33. > :11:42.think that if he were to win a major, this one is the most likely

:11:43. > :11:49.candidate, because he is so comfortable on this surface and has

:11:50. > :11:59.had such a very positive results. But if years to make a challenge, it

:12:00. > :12:02.has to start here. -- if he is. Wonderful to see this man, the first

:12:03. > :12:09.to make a major quarterfinal three years ago. He is number 13 in the

:12:10. > :12:16.world, January 2012. Back in the top 20 with a wonderful year this year.

:12:17. > :12:19.His father, standing up there, a former player himself, back in

:12:20. > :12:24.charge of his son. He coached him until 2008 will stop Jack Reed had a

:12:25. > :12:31.go until 2012 but the father and son are back at side-by-side, playing

:12:32. > :12:38.some wonderful free-flowing tennis once more. The unforced error is or

:12:39. > :12:46.still meagre, even though there are a few at the back end of that set.

:12:47. > :12:56.Exactly right. The last few games were the only blips in the

:12:57. > :13:00.landscape. Up until that point, Dimitrov was mentally fatigued a

:13:01. > :13:07.little bit. And he blinked. But up until that point, the quality of

:13:08. > :13:10.tennis was astounding. And the shotmaking that we have seen

:13:11. > :13:19.throughout, it has been released binding. -- really spellbinding

:13:20. > :13:23.When you have so much a righty, you are spoilt for choice. It is a

:13:24. > :13:27.fascinating subject that the best of times. But at the pace these guys

:13:28. > :13:32.are playing, to make that choice, you have a split second. It can be

:13:33. > :13:37.instinctive but Dimitrov needed to find out where his strengths lay.

:13:38. > :13:41.The backhand is such a good shot but the forehand is a weapon. Does he

:13:42. > :13:47.have to try to do more from here? Get his forehand into play? I don't

:13:48. > :13:51.know. He would like to do that but often that is not a choice. It

:13:52. > :13:57.Dolgopolov does not hit the ball there, it is not like he can just

:13:58. > :14:04.camp out in the alley the way Nadal might. Dolgopolov is hitting the

:14:05. > :14:09.ball so aggressively that he really cannot take that risk. It is a

:14:10. > :14:15.release social day out at Wimbledon these days(!) It is like being in

:14:16. > :14:20.the car with your kids in the back. What do you think of it so far?

:14:21. > :14:28.Sends. It is a good match. Too much from some. Catching some rays. It is

:14:29. > :14:34.a beautiful afternoon. How much longer left to run? Most here would

:14:35. > :14:42.be quite happy if it went the distance. Virtually clear skies now.

:14:43. > :14:50.A big ask for Dimitrov but he has won a lot of tight matches. Two in

:14:51. > :14:59.Acapulco. He beat Andy Murray seven -- sets in the third. -- seven to

:15:00. > :15:06.six in the third. And of course the final in Queens, saving the

:15:07. > :15:10.championship point. When you talk about a potential five set match,

:15:11. > :15:16.you have to think of fatigued factors. And yet they have still not

:15:17. > :15:23.been out on court for two hours Three long sets, and yet because

:15:24. > :15:29.both of them play so quickly, I would not have thought that the

:15:30. > :16:09.physical fatigue has even begun to enter the picture.

:16:10. > :16:17.That is just magical. He has come back with a wonder. Both players

:16:18. > :16:31.making good use of the break. Very composed.

:16:32. > :16:55.The aces return. Ten in the first set, four in the second.

:16:56. > :17:35.And third. Four aces in two sets for the Ukrainian.

:17:36. > :18:09.He uses that side spinning slice to such great effect.

:18:10. > :18:17.His backhand is so strong and solid. Still aiming at Dimitrov's backhand.

:18:18. > :18:23.This has been incredible. An incredibly impressive ground stroke

:18:24. > :18:30.performance from Dolgopolov. But he has always had flashy groundstrokes.

:18:31. > :18:34.Inevitably, he would be erratic from time to time. That just has not been

:18:35. > :18:41.the case today. He has been very consistent.

:18:42. > :18:48.For the man of the moment, this is a big service game. Going into a third

:18:49. > :19:03.hour. That looked a tired point from

:19:04. > :19:42.Dimitrov. Pillar to post in the last game.

:19:43. > :19:46.Serve and volley is becoming more and more crucial. Dolgopolov is

:19:47. > :20:04.returning straight back at the feet. All of a sudden, he is really

:20:05. > :21:42.struggling. It is like someone has taken the plug out.

:21:43. > :21:54.What a huge hold from 1540. Absolutely. A terrific response

:21:55. > :22:30.Three firsts service. -- three first service.

:22:31. > :24:42.It is interesting. There are so much talk about British tennis at this

:24:43. > :24:45.time of the year. But they often feel the words technique is so

:24:46. > :24:51.overused in coaching. When you watch this man construct points, the shots

:24:52. > :24:55.that he makes up, you feel that he has just played loads and loads of

:24:56. > :25:00.points in practice, and yes, there is technique about him, but it is so

:25:01. > :25:10.natural. He plays the ball on its own terms. Obviously, technique is

:25:11. > :25:14.important in the development of a player but if you get the racquet

:25:15. > :25:18.threw the ball, the nuances of technique are probably not that

:25:19. > :25:24.important. What is more important is how will you compete, how well you

:25:25. > :25:32.maintain a high-intensity level and do not have these little blips in

:25:33. > :25:38.concentration. Both these guys, in fact Dolgopolov has done that better

:25:39. > :25:45.thus far. He has been the stronger man, mentally, which is a surprise.

:25:46. > :25:49.Because that has not always been a characteristic that you would

:25:50. > :25:54.associate with them. Some of the shots he has come up with, it is

:25:55. > :25:59.almost frightening Dimitrov. They have each put a lot of pressure on

:26:00. > :26:36.one another because they have had the ball so soundly.

:26:37. > :26:41.from this match and head over to centre court. If you want to keep

:26:42. > :26:46.watching, you can. It continues live on the red button. We will update

:26:47. > :26:51.you on BBC Two. The other match is Sergiy Stakhovsky against Jeremy

:26:52. > :26:57.Chardy. Other choices on the red button but on two we are heading to

:26:58. > :27:04.centre court. At the moment, Petra Kvitova and Venus Williams are

:27:05. > :27:09.playing. Two hours and 13 minutes, this match. Four games all in the

:27:10. > :27:15.third set. Tracy Austin and Mark Petchey are our commentators.

:27:16. > :27:24.It has been tense all the way, it has to be said.

:27:25. > :30:32.challenges in the service games has been quite remarkable.

:30:33. > :30:39.She had the wherewithal, the composure to roll back into the

:30:40. > :30:43.space. It must've been a huge temptation to hit that as hard as

:30:44. > :30:47.she could have done. What an adjustment with her hands. She had

:30:48. > :31:03.to really reach for it and be accurate.

:31:04. > :31:09.That is the tennis equivalent of walking the tightrope. And she got

:31:10. > :31:19.to the other side. Safety for the moment. That is what this match

:31:20. > :31:24.feels like, it feels like there is no room to breathe and it has not

:31:25. > :31:30.been since the first point. So many times in tennis, we have had such

:31:31. > :31:35.huge expectations and talk about an upcoming match and it has not lived

:31:36. > :31:41.up to the expectations but this match has and has possibly exceeded

:31:42. > :31:49.it. Tennis players, Tracey, travel with that suitcase of memories. O

:31:50. > :31:56.won their last couple of meetings. We do not have a tie-break in the

:31:57. > :32:08.final set at Wimbledon. Is this something that the Venus will be

:32:09. > :32:09.thinking about. She has won these championships five times. She feels

:32:10. > :33:09.like this is her home. I have been so impressed with both

:33:10. > :36:10.players. She is not using her legs as well on

:36:11. > :36:52.the serve. That was not a bad attempt at

:36:53. > :37:10.changing the return of direction. It is a body shot which seals the

:37:11. > :37:16.game for Venus. Did not hold back on that serve.

:37:17. > :37:22.We have talked about that from Kvitova. Sometimes the shot

:37:23. > :37:49.selection could be reviewed with her coach.

:37:50. > :37:53.Both players have been within a couple of points a couple of times.

:37:54. > :39:34.The momentum keeps changing. That'll calm a few nerves. Down on

:39:35. > :39:52.the court and up there. What a response after two doubles.

:39:53. > :40:07.Sensational finish for the game for Kvitova.

:40:08. > :40:12.You have to learn how to play through the pressure because

:40:13. > :40:19.unquestionably, she was feeling it in that particular game. She did so

:40:20. > :40:28.emphatically in the end. Both players have done a great job of

:40:29. > :40:33.resetting to the next point. Did you always feel better serving first in

:40:34. > :40:39.the final set? You know, with me, it really didn't matter! Sometimes my

:40:40. > :40:45.return was better than my serve but I think for the most part, I always

:40:46. > :40:52.tried to be ahead. I was expected to win my serve. Most of the players

:40:53. > :40:59.were serve and volley is said they had very big serves. I always liked

:41:00. > :41:12.to play from ahead. Much more comfortable.

:41:13. > :41:20.Such an appetising day on Centre Court today when the order of play

:41:21. > :41:22.came out. A straight sets win for Djokovic early on. This one has

:41:23. > :42:20.lived up to expectations. Something to build on for Kvitova.

:42:21. > :42:46.Really animated today in a positive way.

:42:47. > :43:40.She has been the Queen of 3-set matches in recent years, Petra

:43:41. > :44:16.Kvitova. Two former Queens of Wimbledon.

:44:17. > :44:30.There could only be one winner. And ultimately, it goes the way of the

:44:31. > :44:34.2011 champion. While, such a hard-fought match. Two and a half

:44:35. > :44:41.hours and only decided in the last 15 seconds. So close for all two and

:44:42. > :44:47.a half hours. That will be a pill to swallow for Venus Williams. Really

:44:48. > :44:54.played a amend this match. One of the best matches I have seen from

:44:55. > :44:59.her in a long time. Served very well, energy looked good, powerful

:45:00. > :45:04.ground strokes, moved to so well. Have to give so much credit to

:45:05. > :45:13.Kvitova. For most of the match she was serving second, she was behind

:45:14. > :45:16.and her back was against the wall. The tension was unrelenting

:45:17. > :45:23.throughout the two and a half hour contest. Venus admirably played her

:45:24. > :45:30.opponent. Great sportsmanship displayed by the five-time champion

:45:31. > :45:38.there. A deserve it standing ovation. It does leave you

:45:39. > :45:42.reflecting how many more times we will see Venus grace this special

:45:43. > :45:51.court? And it will be sorely missed if we do not see it again. This

:45:52. > :46:01.lady, though, did not miss her chance when it presented itself

:46:02. > :46:05.Really, tennis was the winner here today. This match was played at such

:46:06. > :46:10.a high level throughout the entire three sets. No lapses in

:46:11. > :46:16.concentration from either player. There was not room for that. Just

:46:17. > :46:20.two breaks of serve, three break point opportunities throughout the

:46:21. > :46:21.contest. That has to be one of the lowest numbers, if not the lowest

:46:22. > :46:34.number of all-time. Venus Williams is still in the

:46:35. > :46:38.doubles here with her sister, Serena. They have won it five times

:46:39. > :46:50.in the past. Undoubtedly, she has the talent She

:46:51. > :46:55.has won the title here before but more importantly today, she showed

:46:56. > :46:59.that character that you need to go and win another one. It was a tough

:47:00. > :47:12.draw to have to get Venus in the third round, but she survived.

:47:13. > :47:27.A fabulous contest. Kvitova is with Phil Jones.

:47:28. > :47:34.Congratulations, wonderful performance. I was preparing from

:47:35. > :47:42.yesterday for this. I know that Venus can play well on the grass.

:47:43. > :47:50.She was serving pretty well. There were three breaks in the match. I am

:47:51. > :47:59.just happy that I am through and I am in the fourth round. You are one

:48:00. > :48:01.of the few people on tour with a winning record against Venus but

:48:02. > :48:12.your match is always go to three sets. All matches will be played in

:48:13. > :48:16.three sets I think. I was a little bit down mentally but I knew I could

:48:17. > :48:22.come back and win the second set and of course, in the third set

:48:23. > :48:26.everything can happen. Without a tie-break it is difficult to break

:48:27. > :48:35.her. I was trying to push her. Finally, I did it. You were very

:48:36. > :48:40.vocal out there today, when you were hitting winning shots, fist pumping

:48:41. > :48:46.and shouting out, what did that do to spare you on? It was when I was a

:48:47. > :48:53.close. I was fighting for every point. I knew if I want to break her

:48:54. > :49:00.I have to win every point that I can play. I was trying and I was lucky

:49:01. > :49:04.in the end. Finally, let me ask you, you have been a champion here

:49:05. > :49:12.before, this form must give you great confidence going to weak to?

:49:13. > :49:20.No I am playing well. I have great memories of 2011. I am pretty

:49:21. > :49:25.comfortable on the court. Everyone is preparing well. I need to be

:49:26. > :49:31.focused on every point. Tremendous performance, congratulations again.

:49:32. > :49:37.SUE BARKER: It was a amend this performance. Petra Kvitova seems to

:49:38. > :49:41.play her best tennis at Wimbledon and on this court, looking like she

:49:42. > :49:46.could be on her way to the final once again. That big lefty serve

:49:47. > :49:51.winning her so many points. Petra Kvitova is through. The five-time

:49:52. > :49:56.champion Venus Williams, at 34 years of age, is out. I wonder if we will

:49:57. > :50:02.see her grace the courts again as a singles player. It is Petra Kvitova

:50:03. > :50:08.who is through. On Centre Court now, there is a real buzz around it. Andy

:50:09. > :50:12.Murray will be stepping on for his third-round match. But before the

:50:13. > :50:19.players get on court, let's round up some of the stories of the day. A

:50:20. > :50:30.big story out on Court Number One, Alexandr Dolgopolov is to set up

:50:31. > :50:35.against Grigor Dimitrov. -- two sets up. He will be serving for the set.

:50:36. > :50:45.The match is live on the red button. We will keep you updated on BBC Two

:50:46. > :50:49.as well. That is all happening out on Court Number One. Here on Centre

:50:50. > :50:51.Court, we await the players because Andy Murray's Wimbledon 's story is

:50:52. > :50:57.about to continue. As he steps back out onto Centre

:50:58. > :51:18.Court, expectations are high. What a perfect start. Blaz Rola he

:51:19. > :51:24.has admired Andy Murray for some time and now he gets a chance. Here

:51:25. > :51:29.it is, a double break for Andy Murray. Murray is romping away with

:51:30. > :51:37.this one now. As comprehensive victory as you are likely to see.

:51:38. > :51:47.The machine rumbles on. -- the Murray machine rumbles on. First of

:51:48. > :51:53.all, a comment about Venus there. Was that a wave goodbye? It could

:51:54. > :51:57.be. She played great, it was an entertaining match. It looked like

:51:58. > :52:02.she was starting to slow down. Some of it was emotional, some of it was

:52:03. > :52:06.Kvitova but some of it is physical. I do not know how much more she will

:52:07. > :52:12.do in the future. It is absolutely her decision. At the age of 34, she

:52:13. > :52:18.has a lot to be proud of, eight finals here. When was the last time

:52:19. > :52:24.that Martina won it? Wasn't she in her late 30s? Yes, almost into her

:52:25. > :52:29.40s. If she is able to overcome the issues that she has been having

:52:30. > :52:35.perhaps even at that late age she could make a run. It is a tough loss

:52:36. > :52:40.but not the worst way to go out Absolutely. We are ready for Andy

:52:41. > :52:47.Murray to step onto court. This is a step up in class from the last two

:52:48. > :52:53.matches, Tim? Against Blaz Rola it was totally one-sided. Bautista Agut

:52:54. > :52:58.has played much better on grass He won tournament last week. His game

:52:59. > :53:02.has come a long way. I do not think he poses a massive threat but I know

:53:03. > :53:10.Murray will have to work a lot harder. He will know he cannot take

:53:11. > :53:18.for granted. I have to take this guy some credit. At 26, he has finally

:53:19. > :53:19.got his act together in the last year or two.

:53:20. > :53:47.CHEERING A big ovation for both players. It

:53:48. > :53:52.may be a step up in class but also stepped up in occasion for this guy.

:53:53. > :53:57.It is a major step up. He will be extremely nervous. Murray should

:53:58. > :54:04.take quick advantage and have, I would think a relatively easy time

:54:05. > :54:09.first set. It is fantastic that he has made such improvements in his

:54:10. > :54:13.game. He is probably the Spanish number six. It shows what having a

:54:14. > :54:20.great heart and a great competitive spirit can do. His game has come a

:54:21. > :54:26.long way. He is unorthodox. He moves well. If Andy does not look to

:54:27. > :54:31.dictate, this guy can make life difficult. When you have won seven

:54:32. > :54:40.matches on the grass, you come in with a winning mentality. He must

:54:41. > :54:45.think grass is his worst surface. How was he allowed to play so flat

:54:46. > :54:52.in Spain? That is Ray strange. He likes to hit a flat ball. And then

:54:53. > :54:56.to come on grass, of all places and win an event before Wimbledon. This

:54:57. > :55:01.is like gravy for him. To have a chance to play Murray on Centre

:55:02. > :55:09.Court, talk about having nothing to lose. Absolutely. If you look at who

:55:10. > :55:14.he beat in Holland, Nicolas Mahut, Benjamin Becker, Juergen Melzer

:55:15. > :55:20.Very good victories. You think of these Spanish guys worn and bred on

:55:21. > :55:27.clay courts but this is not the case. -- born and bred. He moves

:55:28. > :55:32.well, he covers the court exceptionally well and he is a great

:55:33. > :55:37.competitor. It goes to show what hard work can do in the game. He has

:55:38. > :55:42.moved up 50 places in the world rankings from the start of the year.

:55:43. > :55:47.As far as Andy Murray is concerned, the first couple of rounds were not

:55:48. > :55:52.tough but he won them so convincingly. His best preparation

:55:53. > :55:57.in my book turned out to be the French Open. He went to Rome, he had

:55:58. > :56:01.a break-up against Nadal, that is when he started to get confident. He

:56:02. > :56:07.went through five wins there. Even though it did not happen at Queens,

:56:08. > :56:12.he was fatigued mentally and physically. For me, the last four or

:56:13. > :56:18.five weeks, he is finally back to what we saw last year when he won

:56:19. > :56:24.this. And you have been impressed with his backhand? It is always a

:56:25. > :56:34.barometer of his game. I think that is when he is confident. He was

:56:35. > :56:42.pretty straightforward in a two match -- matches he played. It is

:56:43. > :56:47.another aspect to look out for. I think he needs to be aggressive with

:56:48. > :56:53.his forehand as well. That separates the men from the boys. It separates

:56:54. > :56:59.the good from the truly great. That is why he has won majors. He has

:57:00. > :57:04.moved into the court, he is such a great return. He has taken advantage

:57:05. > :57:09.of being able to manipulate things. There are not many shots we do not

:57:10. > :57:16.wanting to be aggressive on. First serve, return, getting from the

:57:17. > :57:20.baseline to the net, be aggressive. It is almost against his nature He

:57:21. > :57:22.likes to be the counterpuncher. He has played the same way since he was

:57:23. > :57:31.seven. Sometimes, when habits are

:57:32. > :57:36.ingrained, it is not easy to break out. That is where Lendl had the

:57:37. > :57:43.biggest impact, to make him aggressive and dictate lay. Andy

:57:44. > :57:54.himself said he was very happy with the way he served against Lars Rola.

:57:55. > :58:00.-- Blaz Rola. We can take nothing from what happened with Rola. There

:58:01. > :58:05.was no pressure. If this guy starts getting into a lot of games and

:58:06. > :58:12.keeping a set close, we will see what the first serve percentage is.

:58:13. > :58:18.As Tim pointed out, being aggressive on the second serve. That is almost

:58:19. > :58:22.more key. We focus their much on Murray's game and quite rightly so

:58:23. > :58:26.but if you were trying to build a game plan for any opponent, one of

:58:27. > :58:30.the things you were trying to build a game plan for any opponent, one of

:58:31. > :58:39.the things you'd the longer the rally goes on, Andy will be the

:58:40. > :58:45.favourite. He moves so well so he can run down those returns. I would

:58:46. > :58:49.say the second serve in tennis in the last ten years is the only area

:58:50. > :58:53.which has regressed. When people are having to serve and volley, your

:58:54. > :59:07.second serve has to be better. Nobody does that now. He is proving

:59:08. > :59:11.you wrong right now. Or any of these guys out here better servers than

:59:12. > :59:22.Boris Becker or Pete Sampras? Not many of them. Is that because grass

:59:23. > :59:29.courts and the faster courts do not exist, it is a slower game now, a

:59:30. > :59:32.slower court? That is part of it so they have readjusted the game. When

:59:33. > :59:36.Sampras worked on his game, something tells me he spent a lot of

:59:37. > :59:42.time working on his serve. These guys have to work on the defensive

:59:43. > :59:46.aspects. And then going offensive and moving into the net. With the

:59:47. > :59:51.strings, you do not have the same feel for the ball as we did in the

:59:52. > :59:59.old days when we played with actual Gupta. It took guys like Nadal to

:00:00. > :00:04.prove that you could do both. They had to figure out the whole package

:00:05. > :00:09.as well. I think that is why the men's game has moved on so much The

:00:10. > :00:15.average age now is 28. You will never get a Boris Becker again

:00:16. > :00:33.winning at 17. The game is more demanding physically. Tommy Haas had

:00:34. > :00:41.to have shoulder surgery, but he might be 36. Players are playing

:00:42. > :00:49.longer. What about that guy, a 19-year-old, he looks 19. Something

:00:50. > :00:54.tells me something is going to be happening soon for him. Saving nine

:00:55. > :01:01.Grand Slam points against Richard Gasquet. How do you do that? We are

:01:02. > :01:05.almost ready for this match. Dimitrov has taken the fourth set on

:01:06. > :01:09.Court number one. So that is into a fifth and final set. We will keep

:01:10. > :01:13.you up-to-date on that but you can watch it on the red button if you

:01:14. > :01:21.want. But we are all set for this one, Murray's third round match And

:01:22. > :01:26.John and Tim are on the way. Andrew Castle is already there.

:01:27. > :01:31.Send them round. We are of the best seats of the house. For a Friday

:01:32. > :01:35.night spectacular, featuring the defending champion. The Speaker of

:01:36. > :01:43.the House of Commons, John Bercow, is with us. Number one seed and the

:01:44. > :01:51.under 12 nationals in 1975, number one for Middlesex. A keen player.

:01:52. > :01:58.And this is a match to relish. Andy Murray, electing to receive. Taking

:01:59. > :02:06.his time, Roberto Bautista Agut of Spain. He has the task of taking on

:02:07. > :02:10.the defending champion and a few of his friends at centre court. He

:02:11. > :02:16.wears the name of this town on his sleeve. And there is no such thing

:02:17. > :02:20.as a bad seeded player. A stab at four Andy Murray. -- a step up for

:02:21. > :02:53.Andy Murray. A lot of talk about the weather

:02:54. > :03:00.today. Did not think Murray would have to content with such bright

:03:01. > :03:01.sunlight. It is not easy in the south-east corner of centre court as

:03:02. > :03:29.the evening draws in. The next 15 or 20 minutes are going

:03:30. > :03:37.to be tricky, when the shade goes across the court. I'm happy to see

:03:38. > :03:39.Andy Murray -- I'm sure he is happy to see Andy Murray mess the first

:03:40. > :03:52.couple of returns. 15 matches unbeaten. He has not lost

:03:53. > :05:01.here in two years. Former champion, Amelie Mauresmo, a

:05:02. > :05:06.champion in Australia in the same year. This is only her second

:05:07. > :05:42.tournament with Andy Murray after the Queens club.

:05:43. > :05:52.He does not look uptight at all His movement may be better on clay but

:05:53. > :05:55.his ball striking ability is threatening. It is working for him

:05:56. > :07:27.on grass. These are early skirmishes are

:07:28. > :07:33.interesting. The sliced backhand, with the grip that Roberto Bautista

:07:34. > :07:36.Agut has, he plays them comfortably. He should keep testing them with

:07:37. > :07:42.that slice. The slice will be effective for Murray. What was your

:07:43. > :08:00.longest rally on grass? Probably about six shots!

:08:01. > :08:08.You look at Roberto Bautista Agut's court position and you wonder if

:08:09. > :08:09.Andy might use the short slice to ring him forward and get him out of

:08:10. > :09:11.his comfort zone. Mighty impressive so far from the

:09:12. > :09:15.Spaniard. I think I have heard quite a few of us talk in about how your

:09:16. > :09:23.first experience on centre court can be nervous, a bit of a slow start,

:09:24. > :09:25.but not from this man. I did not expect him to be so relaxed that

:09:26. > :10:10.year. -- out here. Very early days but he has fought

:10:11. > :10:12.off 0-30 in game, Andy Murray. Only got two of his first seven service

:10:13. > :10:21.in. And the third one seals the deal.

:10:22. > :10:39.That was a test. If you see it from Roberto Bautista

:10:40. > :10:45.Agut's point of view, being nervous, but Murray is too. And all sort of

:10:46. > :10:50.rallies, with the Spaniard looked comfortable, and big anybody could

:10:51. > :10:56.stick around with Murray physically over five sets. -- I don't think

:10:57. > :11:06.anybody. I can think of a couple of people! Apart from them.

:11:07. > :11:20.That was a smart play. He lost his footing. Roberto Bautista Agut is

:11:21. > :11:21.well behind the baseline. And Murray is calculating how to take advantage

:11:22. > :12:12.of that. We have played two and a half games.

:12:13. > :12:39.Three points already have been 0 shots rallies.

:12:40. > :12:58.Now that is world-class defence I mean, he was so far back. The ball

:12:59. > :13:01.boy was getting nervous back here. Next time Bautista Agut mounts an

:13:02. > :13:05.attack, he will try that little bit harder.

:13:06. > :13:26.It has got to be tough walking out against Murray on any courts but yet

:13:27. > :13:31.alone this one were for two years, he has been unbeaten. When he came

:13:32. > :13:37.here, he was an 18-year-old in 005. Remember him then? Skinny? He was

:13:38. > :13:43.two sets up against Nalbandian and last. And now look at him

:13:44. > :13:49.physically. An impressive specimen. Total respect for what he has done

:13:50. > :13:54.to get itself to this point. Look at the people he has had to deal with.

:13:55. > :14:01.Roger Federer, Novak Djokavic, Nadal. He has done a thing possible

:14:02. > :14:08.to be even talked about in the same compensation. He has always had

:14:09. > :14:12.hurdles put in front of them. - conversation. He had the physical

:14:13. > :14:16.issue of getting fit, improving his stamina. He has done all that. There

:14:17. > :14:19.are question marks about his mentality on the court, was he

:14:20. > :14:25.getting too frustrated? He overcame that and now we are seeing, is it to

:14:26. > :14:29.the finished article? I still think there are areas he can improve upon.

:14:30. > :14:33.I'm sure he feels that he could open the French Open and who can say that

:14:34. > :14:41.he cannot? He has been a semifinalist there. If Nadal would

:14:42. > :14:44.retire, the other guys would have a shot! The Davis Cup, the

:14:45. > :14:47.quarterfinals this year, I'm sure he would like to do that. I think he

:14:48. > :15:31.still feels he can do much. Bautista Agut, coming down to earth.

:15:32. > :15:58.All of a sudden, it seems much more of a struggle.

:15:59. > :16:57.85 mph in the middle of the box It is asking to be punished.

:16:58. > :17:03.A big difference in the server. Murray is going to win a lot more

:17:04. > :17:12.points from the first serve in particular.

:17:13. > :17:26.27 years old now, Andy Murray. His opponent, 26.

:17:27. > :17:32.You were talking the forehand about his rise this year from 70 in the

:17:33. > :17:36.world a couple of weeks into the season all the way up to a

:17:37. > :17:41.career-high of 23 now. Largely, his coach says, because he has not got

:17:42. > :18:00.injured. Some sense of continuity. The Australian open, fourth round,

:18:01. > :18:05.he beat one Martin Dockrell troll. In five sets. -- one Martin Dockrell

:18:06. > :19:08.troll. Half the matches he has ever won at

:19:09. > :19:12.the level have been this year. Asked about his goals, he said he wants to

:19:13. > :19:55.make top Hundred and stay there He will have to adjust that.

:19:56. > :20:05.An interesting opening 18 minutes. Andy Murray, the defending champion,

:20:06. > :20:09.a break after three. SUE BARKER Murray with a break of serve in this

:20:10. > :20:13.opening set on centre court. We will take you back to Court number one

:20:14. > :20:18.because Grigor Dimitrov, the 11th seed, has come through his match in

:20:19. > :20:25.five sets against Alexandr Dolgopolov, racing through that

:20:26. > :20:29.fifth and final set, winning 6- . The champion of Queens is through it

:20:30. > :20:36.to the next round to face Leonardo Mayer of Argentina, a player ranked

:20:37. > :20:42.64 in the world. Of course, he is in Andy Murray's water, but that is a

:20:43. > :20:45.long way away. What a celebration for Grigor Dimitrov, digging deep to

:20:46. > :20:52.find a way to victory against a talented opponent.

:20:53. > :20:57.Well, that match has just finished but the match on the red button

:20:58. > :21:00.Marin Cilic against Tomas Berdych is getting underway on Court three on

:21:01. > :21:03.the red button. But here, for the next ten minutes, we are staying

:21:04. > :21:15.with this match on centre court before we move it to BBC One.

:21:16. > :21:21.Murray versus Bautista Agut. It is beginning to sit at the top table,

:21:22. > :21:31.the Spaniard. Interesting to see how high he can go. He won his first

:21:32. > :22:00.tournament ever last week in Holland.

:22:01. > :22:16.He threw the drop shot away. The ball stays low with the new grass.

:22:17. > :22:38.He tried to carve that but clipped the tape.

:22:39. > :22:43.It is tough behind the baseline It gets dusty where it gets warm. They

:22:44. > :23:01.have a machine that comes against that. It up. -- it hoovers it up.

:23:02. > :23:08.They do it between matches? I saw that sweeping one of the outside

:23:09. > :23:13.courts, with a broom. But Billy Daughter, and wonder if you can call

:23:14. > :23:17.for him like you call for Hawk-eye? -- illegal. And there is a physical

:23:18. > :23:39.specimen. Acknowledging a little apology from

:23:40. > :24:30.Murray. It is certainly unusual. You get so

:24:31. > :24:35.little spin on it. I'm not sure whether it is quite as good but it

:24:36. > :24:39.is a right-handed version of Jimmy Connors'. You do not see many

:24:40. > :24:47.players these days hitting it two-handed with less spin.

:24:48. > :25:01.I would assumed he would dream about that comparison. Most of us would.

:25:02. > :25:02.Murray has got into it now. He's just a bigger guy with more options,

:25:03. > :25:15.who moves better. And he's not a big server, Bautista

:25:16. > :25:32.Agut, so Murray will be in almost all of his return games.

:25:33. > :25:39.He grunts about a second after he had set. Does that and you? I will

:25:40. > :26:22.be able to get over it. How about you? Argue OK? I am not.

:26:23. > :26:33.This is what we expected. It was a bright start for Bautista Agut at a

:26:34. > :26:39.comfortable hold. It went 30 love up on Andy Murray's opening service

:26:40. > :26:45.game. But you wonder, if you were talking to the Spaniard about a game

:26:46. > :26:51.plan, you would have to adjust it now, after however long we have been

:26:52. > :26:59.playing. It is not easy for Bautista Agut because his natural game is to

:27:00. > :27:00.be solid from the baseline, but Murray moves too well.

:27:01. > :27:03.be solid from the baseline, but Murray moves The only way he will

:27:04. > :27:08.have an impact as if he can dictate and move forward. He has had some

:27:09. > :27:13.opportunities where he has had short balls, to finish the point that the

:27:14. > :27:18.net, but that is alien to him. Unless he starts serving at 135 he

:27:19. > :27:24.will have trouble. You asked how good you think he can be. He has had

:27:25. > :27:28.a career-high, and he is 23. I think the best you will ever see is right

:27:29. > :27:33.here and right now. Two years ago, he broke into the top 180. He was

:27:34. > :27:40.three and ten on the main tour. Give him credit for being out there. This

:27:41. > :27:45.guy had the makings of a career in the minor leagues. But this is the

:27:46. > :29:01.big leagues now. The biggest stage he has ever been on.

:29:02. > :29:16.UMPIRE: Game and first set, Murray. Six games to two. And it is going to

:29:17. > :29:20.be intriguing to see if he can make a 15 match winning streak become a

:29:21. > :29:23.16 match winning streak. He is beginning to have that aura of

:29:24. > :29:28.invincibility on this court. Unless, of course you're talking about

:29:29. > :29:35.Djokovic, Nadal and Federer. This is the story on the first set. Murray

:29:36. > :29:42.has not dropped a point. He was loved 30 on his opening service

:29:43. > :29:45.game. It dropped significantly on the second service points. But look

:29:46. > :29:53.at what is happening when they are rallying? One-way traffic? 6-2 at

:29:54. > :29:58.the moment. SUE BARKER: Were coming to the end

:29:59. > :30:03.on BBC Two. This match will continue on BBC One and we will see it right

:30:04. > :30:07.through to its conclusion. The one show will follow shortly on BBC Two

:30:08. > :30:08.but for more tennis and more coverage of the match on centre

:30:09. > :30:19.court, switchover now to BBC One. But sometimes, something can happen

:30:20. > :30:30.that leaves you no choice to let the world see

:30:31. > :30:35.your secret self. But mostly we tell lies.

:30:36. > :30:40.We hide our secrets from each other.
