:00:49. > :00:53.no place for the faint-hearted. You need guts, skill, and determination.
:00:54. > :00:59.You need to fight for your first point to the last. No excuses. You
:01:00. > :01:06.have to be prepared to put your body on the line. Shot after shot,
:01:07. > :01:13.through the ups and downs. Whatever it takes, just get the job done.
:01:14. > :01:32.# You've got to fight for your Right to party...
:01:33. > :01:45.COMMENTATOR: It is a belter. Fabulous stuff. Glorious. Just
:01:46. > :01:46.superb. It is absolutely exhilarating watching these on the
:01:47. > :02:01.run. What is this tennis now? SUE BARKER: Jimmy Connors knows all
:02:02. > :02:04.about the importance of the quarterfinals and we have some
:02:05. > :02:07.fascinating matches coming up for you this afternoon. For those fans
:02:08. > :02:10.who have arrived at Wimbledon and they are lucky enough to have a
:02:11. > :02:17.ticket for the show must they head to the hill with a picnic in hand to
:02:18. > :02:20.enjoy the drama unfolding on the big screen. You cannot see a blade of
:02:21. > :02:25.grass on the hill because it's such a big day here at Wimbledon. The
:02:26. > :02:29.match about watching at the moment is this one. This happened a few
:02:30. > :02:32.moments ago as the defending champion, Andy Murray stepped onto
:02:33. > :02:38.Centre Court with Gregor dimmer trough, the King of Queen's. A match
:02:39. > :02:46.we have been looking forward to for some time that Grigor Dimitrov. And
:02:47. > :02:51.now, it is on court. A huge ovation for Murray on Centre Court but up
:02:52. > :02:53.against a very, very tough competitor in Grigor Dimitrov, who
:02:54. > :03:04.is enjoying his best season of his career. So Murray against Dimitrov
:03:05. > :03:08.on Centre Court. Novak Djokovic is on Court Number One and later on we
:03:09. > :03:10.will see the new sensation Nick Kyrgios who pulled off one of the
:03:11. > :03:19.biggest shocks in Wimbledon history yesterday so let's take a look at
:03:20. > :03:21.the four matches in detail. Defending champion Andy Murray is
:03:22. > :03:25.targeting a sixth consecutive Wimbledon semifinal but former
:03:26. > :03:33.junior champion Grigor Dimitrov feels his time has finally come. The
:03:34. > :03:36.top seed Novak Djokovic has beaten Marin Cilic in all their previous
:03:37. > :03:43.nine meetings. Today would be the perfect time for him to change that
:03:44. > :03:48.record. If you are looking for a good Swiss watch, Centre Court is
:03:49. > :03:58.the place as Stan Wawrinka faces seven time champion Roger Federer.
:03:59. > :04:08.Is it time for a new start? Could it be Raonic? Nick Kyrgios? The
:04:09. > :04:12.Conqueror yesterday. So those are the matches we are looking forward
:04:13. > :04:19.to on this ninth day of Wimbledon. It is Murray against Dimitrov at the
:04:20. > :04:23.moment and there is Stan Wawrinka up against Roger Federer, who leads
:04:24. > :04:34.13-2, but this is their first meeting on grass.
:04:35. > :04:42.One result to bring you because they were ladies quarterfinals played and
:04:43. > :04:49.on Centre Court today, Simona Halep, the highest seed in the draw,
:04:50. > :04:55.defeated Sabine Lisicki. She won the next 11 games after being down in
:04:56. > :04:58.the first set. This is how she finished it off. So, Halep, the
:04:59. > :05:07.first Romanian woman to reach the last four at Wimbledon.
:05:08. > :05:14.Simona Halep, what a year she is having. Finalist at the French Open
:05:15. > :05:18.and now in the last four at Wimbledon. That was a short time ago
:05:19. > :05:22.on Centre Court but now we're going back to Centre Court because Andy
:05:23. > :05:26.Murray is in all sorts of trouble. Dimitrov is serving for the first
:05:27. > :05:39.set at 5-1. Two breaks of serve. Let's join our commentators.
:05:40. > :05:45.COMMENTATOR: Things are slipping away for Andy Murray in this opening
:05:46. > :05:48.set. A perfect scenario unfolding for his opponent Grigor Dimitrov in
:05:49. > :05:51.his first ever Wimbledon quarterfinal, but this certainly
:05:52. > :05:53.wasn't the way Murray wanted to pan out. You want to make Dimitrov in
:05:54. > :06:06.it. -- in it. The Bulgarian, just a couple of
:06:07. > :06:25.points away from claiming this first set.
:06:26. > :07:12.Might be a little bit too late, but it's the first time Murray has been
:07:13. > :07:15.proactive rather than reactive. Dimitrov has been dictating the
:07:16. > :07:17.play. Murray needs to find a way in the second set of getting on the
:07:18. > :08:15.front foot. Picture perfect opening set from
:08:16. > :08:39.Grigor Dimitrov, who takes it 6-1. UMPIRE: New balls, please.
:08:40. > :08:47.There is a little murmur wafting around this great Centre Court as
:08:48. > :08:52.they witness what unfolded there. We thought it would be Murray making
:08:53. > :08:58.inroads into his service game and look at that from Dimitrov. The
:08:59. > :09:03.interesting part for me now is there a two minds out there now. Dimitrov
:09:04. > :09:08.played a great first set and leads over Andy Murray. He has to keep a
:09:09. > :09:13.positive attitude and continue to move forward, play the kind of
:09:14. > :09:18.tennis he has played without being too overly aggressive and, on the
:09:19. > :09:23.other side, Murray can't let his head hang down. He has got to pull
:09:24. > :09:29.himself out of this funk he is in so he can get back into this match.
:09:30. > :09:33.Dimitrov played perfect tennis, that said, didn't make any errors, was
:09:34. > :09:37.aggressive when he needed to, mixed up his shots when he needed two and
:09:38. > :09:43.was very patient so, that, to me, is why it was 6-1. It's an interesting
:09:44. > :09:46.mindset because the reality was, coming into this match for Dimitrov
:09:47. > :09:52.playing the defending champion, there was an element he had nothing
:09:53. > :09:56.to lose. Winning the first set, 6-1, you've kind of got something to lose
:09:57. > :10:01.now. You are ahead in the match and it's important to maintain that
:10:02. > :10:06.freedom. Murray served 13 point in that set and only 15, first and
:10:07. > :10:07.second service, so that's an area he needs to get off to a positive start
:10:08. > :10:34.with. Only one point but some positive
:10:35. > :11:30.signs with the body language. Murray trying to get himself fired up.
:11:31. > :11:55.Similar times the opening set dictates the way tennis matches are
:11:56. > :12:00.going to go. Looking at Murray this season, is managed to turn around
:12:01. > :12:06.the deficit nine times. Jimmy, your fifth all-time. Rod Laver is at the
:12:07. > :12:09.very top with Bjorn Borg just behind him in terms of win and loss records
:12:10. > :12:50.after dropping the opening set. You have to remember that this is
:12:51. > :12:53.three out of five, not a sprint. This is a long distance. A lot of
:12:54. > :12:57.things can happen. There's going to be a lot of peaks and valleys in
:12:58. > :13:24.this match and it's just how they both handle them.
:13:25. > :13:36.It is a good return there, moving forward on the second set.
:13:37. > :14:43.more stick on his shots. And the ball back casually and carefully. --
:14:44. > :15:25.Andy. Mixing it up. Some good aggressive
:15:26. > :16:06.play. Tell me your thoughts right now, if
:16:07. > :16:10.you are in Murray 's position? He's got to do a good job on his own
:16:11. > :16:16.serve, create some scoreboard pressure, held his serve and make
:16:17. > :16:19.life to God for Dimitrov. But I think the bottom line is he has got
:16:20. > :16:21.to raise his level. As only been one man in this match so far, and that
:16:22. > :16:35.is Grigor Dimitrov. Certainly is Murray's advantage, but
:16:36. > :16:38.this is a best-of-5 match. Come unstuck at the beginning of the
:16:39. > :17:27.second set, and this could get a very messy for Murray.
:17:28. > :17:34.You just motion to me that he has got to reach a pyre for that serve,
:17:35. > :17:40.right? Yes, he is letting it drop. It's not helping having the sun in
:17:41. > :17:45.his eyes. -- he has got to reach up higher for that serve, right? He
:17:46. > :17:47.could do the first served here so he doesn't have to worry about his
:17:48. > :18:39.second serve. I think it was pretty clear Murray
:18:40. > :18:41.didn't want to hit a second serve them. Only 94 mph on the first
:18:42. > :19:22.serve. That's an effective shot for
:19:23. > :19:27.Dimitrov. Dimitrov dictating play, though. He has got Andy on the run.
:19:28. > :19:49.Mixing his shots up. Hard, over spin, slice.
:19:50. > :20:42.Gritty durable game there for Murray. A gamely needed to win. He
:20:43. > :20:46.got himself into some trouble courtesy of those double faults, but
:20:47. > :20:52.got himself out of it. He did. Certainly now in the next Dimitrov
:20:53. > :20:55.service game, Murray has got to make something happen. He has been
:20:56. > :20:59.waiting for something to come his way and Dimitrov has not given in
:21:00. > :21:02.too many opportunities, so I think Murray has got to dictate from the
:21:03. > :21:08.baseline, get up the court a little bit more and be aggressive. I always
:21:09. > :21:12.divided the court into three positions. Around the baseline, and
:21:13. > :21:16.back was a neutral zone, the patient's zone, to keep the ball in
:21:17. > :21:21.play and work at around and once I got inside the baseline, I used that
:21:22. > :21:25.to be more aggressive and to try to force something. And then, once I
:21:26. > :21:29.got inside the service line, it was the kill zone. Once I got in there,
:21:30. > :21:34.I didn't want to head many volleys. I wanted to make a great approach
:21:35. > :21:38.shot and really, force my opponent to come up with something very
:21:39. > :21:43.special, so I would think that Andy would be looking to get more into
:21:44. > :21:46.the aggressive zone at the beginning, so that he could be a
:21:47. > :21:48.little bit more forceful. And then let that carry him forward even
:21:49. > :22:03.more. Dimitrov, on the other hand, has
:22:04. > :22:06.played perfect tennis to this point for some I don't think there was
:22:07. > :22:57.anything they can say about his game at the moment that he has not done.
:22:58. > :23:05.Again, that is the predicament when your opponent is playing like that.
:23:06. > :23:06.130 mph serves, and dictating from the baseline, there's not a lot to
:23:07. > :23:24.get your teeth stuck into. Fearless moving forward. So many
:23:25. > :23:30.players are cautious coming in against Murray. They look reluctant
:23:31. > :23:34.to come forward. Murray just came through a good service game and then
:23:35. > :24:18.it seems 60 seconds later he is serving again.
:24:19. > :24:26.Just is not impacting Dimitrov's game. Dimitrov is moving
:24:27. > :24:43.exceptionally well, getting in position for every shot.
:24:44. > :24:54.That's one way to put a stop to it! Aces don't win tennis matches full
:24:55. > :24:57.service good to throw that in there but is going to do figure out a way
:24:58. > :25:58.to break into the ground with Dimitrov.
:25:59. > :26:04.Murray held his ground there. Dimitrov didn't quite hit that
:26:05. > :26:09.approach shot quite as solid as he would like. Came off a little bit
:26:10. > :26:30.too much and short. Murray, up to the occasion.
:26:31. > :26:37.A positive service game and a good, positive look up to his box, as
:26:38. > :26:41.every starting to feel as though he is belonging in this quarterfinal.
:26:42. > :26:45.He has been outplayed for almost 45 minutes but it definitely feels as
:26:46. > :26:50.though he's starting to make a few inroads but come at this stage, Tim
:26:51. > :26:54.Henman, in terms of how Dimitrov is serving, is there anything Andy
:26:55. > :26:59.Murray should do, give him a different look? There's no doubt
:27:00. > :27:04.Andy is one of the best returners in the game. I was looking at Dimitrov,
:27:05. > :27:10.and Andy Murray has only won three out of 20 points on the first serve
:27:11. > :27:13.and 16 on the second serve, and that is unusual. He is usually good
:27:14. > :27:16.getting the ball back in play and dominating the valleys, Sony needs
:27:17. > :27:21.to try to get one of the first couple of points on Dimitrov's
:27:22. > :27:28.serves to getting back into the game. Dimitrov have been racing to
:27:29. > :27:33.the games, 40-0. Whether it means Andy Murray standing further back,
:27:34. > :27:36.to the side, it's probably about now, after 45 minutes of having no
:27:37. > :27:42.real impact, he needs to try something different. If he can
:27:43. > :27:47.weather the storm, can Dimitrov keep this level up throughout the course
:27:48. > :27:53.of the whole match? That's the question. If Andy can weather the
:27:54. > :27:57.storm and stay in there and wait for a lull in his game, it will give him
:27:58. > :28:13.a chance to get stuck in there. But, right now, with Dimitrov, there
:28:14. > :29:13.is not one thing he is not doing right. Perfect tennis so far.
:29:14. > :29:20.That ball was back on Dimitrov before he was ready for it. Murray
:29:21. > :29:21.is certainly inside the court on that first serve return. Timed it
:29:22. > :29:31.perfectly. I would try it again here, just to
:29:32. > :29:54.mix it up. It looks like he's coming off the
:29:55. > :30:00.forehand a little bit. Here's not staying down and lifting through it
:30:01. > :30:21.at the last minute. Maybe he could move his feet a little better.
:30:22. > :30:23.those particular balls. His serve once again impeccable. Unbreakable
:30:24. > :31:22.at the moment. If there is one shot that he has
:31:23. > :32:07.always been a little bit uncomfortable with, it is that one.
:32:08. > :32:13.He really lead into that backhand down the line nicely and caught the
:32:14. > :32:18.ball with the top of the banks. You can sense by the reaction of the
:32:19. > :32:19.crowd after he missed that smash, that they understand the importance
:32:20. > :32:38.of this vital seventh game. APPLAUSE
:32:39. > :34:30.CHEERING Stunning. And its standard Murray as
:34:31. > :35:11.well. -- it's done and Murray. -- stunned.
:35:12. > :35:16.That is certainly more positive play, taking the ball a little
:35:17. > :35:24.earlier and getting in behind his shots. You sometimes wonder, why he
:35:25. > :35:29.waits until he is behind to play that style of game. Not an easy
:35:30. > :35:37.situation. It is hard work to play like that,
:35:38. > :36:08.Tim. Certainly is. That is loose. Having saved a break
:36:09. > :36:16.point to get back to deuce and then miss a rallying shot, he cannot
:36:17. > :36:19.afford any donations at this stage. I don't think it is his game though,
:36:20. > :36:52.it is mental. It is his game style. The tennis cathedral falling silent
:36:53. > :36:57.as their man drops that one over the baseline and in doing so, drops his
:36:58. > :37:06.serve, by his high standards on this court, that was a tame end to the
:37:07. > :37:13.game. You can see by his reaction, walking to the next, why did I hit a
:37:14. > :37:19.first serve, 93 mph, on a break point? He really has to get his head
:37:20. > :37:22.together. I know he is keen for history to repeat itself but going
:37:23. > :37:23.to Max sets to love in the quarterfinals this year is taking a
:37:24. > :37:46.little far. Dimitrov has nothing to lose here
:37:47. > :37:50.and he has come at playing that kind of tennis. I would think his
:37:51. > :37:53.confidence is growing at the moment. He sees Murray's body language and
:37:54. > :38:06.knows he is discouraged. We probably don't need to tell you
:38:07. > :38:37.who that is, Hugh Grant. One of the very few unforced errors
:38:38. > :38:39.from Grigor Dimitrov and one of the few times Murray has won the first
:38:40. > :39:15.point on his serve. It is the first time he has been
:39:16. > :39:19.ahead on the Dimitrov serve, is that right? Yes, apart from the opening
:39:20. > :39:33.game where he had the same lead. In this case, Dimitrov will be
:39:34. > :39:38.pretty keen history repeats itself because he got out of that game with
:39:39. > :39:53.some fine serving and he starts a recovery here.
:39:54. > :40:04.That might be the difference, in a trough down comes up with two big
:40:05. > :40:09.serves. Andy throwing it in at 95 mph. Dimitrov not struggling with
:40:10. > :40:35.the sun at this end. Another poor error and it is the
:40:36. > :40:41.shot you do not expect Murray to miss.
:40:42. > :41:16.The magnitude of this game is not lost on Dimitrov I am sure which is
:41:17. > :41:22.why there have been a couple of on. Is that we have not seen so far in
:41:23. > :42:46.this match. -- a couple of unforced errors.
:42:47. > :42:56.Back he calms and credit to him, his quick reactions in that second
:42:57. > :42:58.serve. Dimitrov knew the importance of that point and Murray was equal
:42:59. > :43:20.to the task. A few loose points by Dimitrov in
:43:21. > :44:54.the last couple of games. Good patience by Andy Murray. Mixing
:44:55. > :45:19.his shots. Changing the pace. Dimitrov also felt surprised the
:45:20. > :45:59.call did not come. Just looked a step later there. Did
:46:00. > :47:07.not have enough top-spin, Andy just a little late.
:47:08. > :47:31.Breathtaking in every sense of the word.
:47:32. > :47:36.The most important point of the match, the longest rally of the
:47:37. > :47:45.match. The biggest cheer from the crowd so far.
:47:46. > :48:08.CHEERING The champion coming to the fall. --
:48:09. > :48:12.fore. You can't talk back cans and forehands and stats but at the end
:48:13. > :48:19.of the day, you need a little bit of that under pressure. What an effort
:48:20. > :48:25.by Murray to break back. Immediately, which was huge. The
:48:26. > :48:28.game of Dimitrov maybe went down a little bit and that is weathering
:48:29. > :48:32.the storm which Murray has done and now it is important for him to win
:48:33. > :48:39.this set. To stay stuck in there and do not think he has done his job. It
:48:40. > :48:43.is not over yet. Dimitrov asked to regain his concentration. He cannot
:48:44. > :48:48.let the last game bother him. It will be an interesting game coming
:48:49. > :48:53.out here now. Dimitrov unable to keep himself in the present once he
:48:54. > :48:59.got up a break? You wonder if he got a little bit ahead of himself.
:49:00. > :49:04.Immediately down Love-30. He did a good job to break back, Andy and
:49:05. > :49:10.when you reflect on his performance in this tournament so far, the first
:49:11. > :49:14.four matches were absolutely faultless and it is inevitable in
:49:15. > :49:19.this event, over two weeks, you will have to deal with some adversity. He
:49:20. > :49:22.is in a dogfight right now and he will be looking to try to get
:49:23. > :51:10.another break of serve and get back on level terms.
:51:11. > :51:44.In Murray's world, that is half a chance. You could not criticise him
:51:45. > :51:48.for not going for it. It would have been a home run in your country
:51:49. > :52:46.Jimmy? That would have been out of the part! -- park.
:52:47. > :53:23.That was a good return of a good serve.
:53:24. > :53:30.It is the one man I would say to any man who plays against Murray, go
:53:31. > :53:35.after his second serve. That second serve return was a lot faster than
:53:36. > :53:45.the serve. 94 Mars per hour compared to 79.
:53:46. > :53:58.Murray still not comfortable with the ball toss at this end of the
:53:59. > :54:14.court with the sun. Will he step in and try to do it
:54:15. > :54:44.again? He was a little conservative,
:54:45. > :55:01.Murray. Dimitrov with impeccable lank and
:55:02. > :55:30.perhaps impeccable timing as well. Looking to get a break of serve.
:55:31. > :55:35.This is a good time for a first serve, weak reply and he took
:55:36. > :55:59.advantage of it. The return flirted with the top of
:56:00. > :57:26.the net but got rejected. A brilliant service again in that
:57:27. > :57:32.final point from Murray, again it is depth of character that gets him out
:57:33. > :57:37.of trouble. It was also a good fight to get out of that game. Two gain
:57:38. > :57:45.points for Dimitrov to come and serve. He hit some good first serves
:57:46. > :57:48.and was not afraid to get a little more aggressive. As Tim said
:57:49. > :57:53.earlier, why does he wait until he is down to do that? It would make
:57:54. > :58:00.life easier it seems to me, if he would go forward a little more. This
:58:01. > :58:05.is where he is exciting, as they have been complaints he is boring!
:58:06. > :58:11.The problems with his coaches in the earlier days! LAUGHTER
:58:12. > :58:15.I think the reality is that it goes back to the way he has always played
:58:16. > :58:20.the game. It goes back to when he was playing juniors at eight, nine
:58:21. > :58:26.and ten. His natural game style is to not miss. He moves so well, don't
:58:27. > :58:30.miss, don't miss. And he is very good at it. For him to come out of
:58:31. > :58:34.our comfort zone and be aggressive is not natural for him, but the
:58:35. > :58:39.reality is that to beat the very best and when he has beaten the
:58:40. > :58:44.best, is when he is proactive. Good point. That is a man who looks to
:58:45. > :58:47.beat the best as well on the rugby field, you and have. -- Stuart
:58:48. > :00:41.Lancaster. service game to get himself into a
:00:42. > :00:47.tie-break. Of course, the last time they played on grass courts,
:00:48. > :01:12.Acapulco, Dimitrov won the last two sets.
:01:13. > :01:18.Dimitrov, but I didn't think it would catch Andy off-balance quite
:01:19. > :01:23.that badly. Looks like he's walking in mud at the moment. He is not
:01:24. > :01:46.moving his feet well. Dimitrov, on the other hand, moving brilliantly.
:01:47. > :02:22.A little bit surprising at this stage of the match, the first three
:02:23. > :02:29.points of this vital tie-breaker, unforced errors. Both players will
:02:30. > :02:37.be looking to cut those out. In this position, would you be a little bit
:02:38. > :02:41.more aggressive or passive and let a few errors come? I think you got to
:02:42. > :02:42.play to your strengths. For me, it was being aggressive, getting to the
:02:43. > :04:05.net. defence from Dimitrov. Full Murray,
:04:06. > :05:15.he covered a lot of ground on that point. See how he recovers?
:05:16. > :05:21.Andy can't be satisfied with playing the ball short down the middle. He
:05:22. > :05:29.has given Dimitrov every opportunity to do what he wants. Leave it in the
:05:30. > :05:34.middle of the court with Dimitrov's forehand, you are going to do a lot
:05:35. > :05:37.of running. Andy has got to play to his strengths, but he has got to do
:05:38. > :06:03.the basics well and not dropped the ball in the middle of the court.
:06:04. > :06:13.UMPIRE: Murray challenging the caller. Another one of these
:06:14. > :07:22.challenges in hope, rather than expectation. Very well said.
:07:23. > :07:29.I thought that was a good approach. Andy stayed low. It had good slice
:07:30. > :07:38.on it. Dimitrov held his ground on the one-handed backhand. And ripped
:07:39. > :08:02.it across court. Dimitrov, with a point up in the tie-break.
:08:03. > :08:18.Beautiful. That was not as easy as he made it look, especially at this
:08:19. > :08:28.stage of the match, where... This is no easy task. He comes in, keeps his
:08:29. > :08:40.eye on the ball. A nice, easy touch. It gives a two set points.
:08:41. > :09:05.Dimitrov certainly wasn't afraid to put pressure on Murray in the
:09:06. > :09:11.tie-break. To come in and add a little extra, coming up with a
:09:12. > :09:15.passing shot. Played those last three points beautifully. A passing
:09:16. > :09:19.shot, the drop volley and then putting the pressure on on set
:09:20. > :09:25.point. You can see by that reaction how much it means to him, and
:09:26. > :09:32.looking at the stats in front of us, the last I Murray came back from
:09:33. > :09:35.2-0, was on this very day 12 months ago against Fernando Verdasco. We
:09:36. > :09:42.certainly need history to repeat itself right now. Interesting.
:09:43. > :09:48.Seeing this and the way this match has progressed, to have been sitting
:09:49. > :09:53.in a position like that, sometimes myself, I look back on where I was,
:09:54. > :09:59.if I was two sets down, and what was going through my mind. All I wanted
:10:00. > :10:02.to do was stay in there. Anything can happen. But you can't be
:10:03. > :10:09.passive. You have to play your game and played the way you should be as
:10:10. > :10:13.if you were ahead two sets. On the other hand, from Dimitrov, what a
:10:14. > :10:19.position to be in. The quarterfinals, Centre Court,
:10:20. > :10:28.Wimbledon, two sets up against the former champion. How do you do this?
:10:29. > :10:33.Do you just pound him? Do you say, is this right? This crowd does not
:10:34. > :10:41.want this to happen. It's all that internal dialogue, what's going on
:10:42. > :10:46.in his mind. It will be interesting. Dimitrov has the mind and Murray has
:10:47. > :10:56.the game. It's the internal parts of the game which a happening now,
:10:57. > :10:58.which are most intriguing to me. Certainly, if Dimitrov can hold his
:10:59. > :11:03.first service game here, he will like the fast -- fact he is serving
:11:04. > :13:02.first in the third. It's been a symptom of this match,
:13:03. > :13:06.at moments when you feel Murray is going to turn things around to his
:13:07. > :13:07.advantage, he just unloads with an unforced error and let's Dimitrov
:13:08. > :13:37.off the hook. Sometimes, depth is more important
:13:38. > :13:42.than just hitting the ball hard. Andy, a couple of times during that
:13:43. > :13:45.last game, got the ball much closer to the baseline and put more
:13:46. > :13:50.pressure on Dimitrov that way. Sometimes, a change of pace and not
:13:51. > :13:56.swinging so hard might just work a little bit better. I don't know. I'm
:13:57. > :14:00.trying to put myself in a position right now. It's a little bit hard to
:14:01. > :14:08.do sometimes. He needs to find some inspiration
:14:09. > :14:40.right here, right now. That is outrageously good. Murray
:14:41. > :14:46.does well to get the ball download, but that was some backhand volley. I
:14:47. > :15:15.can identify with that. We would all have been happy with that one!
:15:16. > :15:23.What you can do, I can do also. Both players trying to get in now closer
:15:24. > :16:27.to the net. Shorten the points little.
:16:28. > :16:34.You can see from this point, just the artistry Dimitrov has at his
:16:35. > :16:38.disposal. He hasn't always been able to utilise it as reliably as he
:16:39. > :18:24.would've liked, but it brought the best out of Murray.
:18:25. > :18:33.That's the first shot I can relate to. It's a good change of pace by
:18:34. > :18:44.Murray. He hit of the forehand inside the service line and blue
:18:45. > :18:49.Dimitrov completely off the court. There's been many a celebration on
:18:50. > :18:51.the hill for Murray's victories here over the years. Will there be
:18:52. > :19:13.another one late night? -- tonight? He grew up in Bulgaria, Dimitrov.
:19:14. > :20:23.Learned his trade in Paris, when he moved there at 13.
:20:24. > :20:28.Certainly Dimitrov doing a good job not allowing Murray to emerge from
:20:29. > :20:33.the shadows at the start of this third set. He has really paid this
:20:34. > :20:38.match on his terms and, credit to him for managing to do that, and
:20:39. > :20:41.good use of his feet. We talked about the hard work he has put in
:20:42. > :20:44.from a fitness point of view but these little steps, giving room,
:20:45. > :20:58.playing his strength from backhand corner.
:20:59. > :21:03.He has caught Murray a few times unawares but credit to him he has
:21:04. > :21:09.gone big into the Murray strengthened gone out on top. It's a
:21:10. > :21:18.good point. He has gone to the Murray strike. It puts you in a
:21:19. > :21:21.better position, right? The way he is moving, getting in position to
:21:22. > :21:26.hit his shots, Dimitrov, he is able to hold the ball on his racket a
:21:27. > :21:30.split second longer to catch and eat a little bit late, so Andy is going
:21:31. > :21:35.to have to be ready for everything now. Dimitrov is feeling the finish
:21:36. > :21:40.line is close and he will have to be prepared for everything and try to
:21:41. > :21:46.get stuck in this set. And hope for something good to happen. Right now,
:21:47. > :22:22.his head is down, he looks dejected. This match is not over yet.
:22:23. > :22:27.surprise is Dimitrov's movement and how controlled he is able to slide
:22:28. > :22:34.on a grass court. We saw it on the first few days when it is a bit
:22:35. > :23:07.greasy, but not when it is so bear. That should bear.
:23:08. > :23:15.That's more the modern game, Tim, these guys are sliding on hard
:23:16. > :23:19.courts, too? It's incredible how it's changed. Sliding on a clay
:23:20. > :23:21.court, we could understand that, but a grass court and a hard court, it
:23:22. > :24:03.is a new element. It might have been a year ago he
:24:04. > :24:07.came back from 2-0 to win the title here, but he's done it seven times
:24:08. > :24:09.in his career. He knows this process well, the little steps that you take
:24:10. > :24:47.early on in the recovery. I don't know about that. I think I
:24:48. > :24:58.would have taken that one out of the air. But that's why I am sitting
:24:59. > :25:37.here! I remember seeing you taking a few out of the air, Jimmy.
:25:38. > :25:43.Not entirely happy with his footing, but he is certainly losing his grip
:25:44. > :26:14.on the match. Andy was not happy with that first
:26:15. > :26:42.drop volley. It was a little too deep. Full stretch.
:26:43. > :26:49.You mentioned earlier, Jimmy, Murray got into the rally, played a sliced
:26:50. > :26:52.backhand, which landed a couple of feet from the centre of the court
:26:53. > :26:56.and with Dimitrov's forehand, he's just going to punish you. It's not
:26:57. > :27:20.going to get it done for Murray. That ball was right inside the
:27:21. > :27:24.baseline. Sometimes, like I said earlier, you don't have to hit it
:27:25. > :27:48.quite so hard. Just the depth takes care of itself.
:27:49. > :27:58.Credit where credit is due. It is a great serve. Murray only broken once
:27:59. > :28:03.in this match. Roque and 25 times coming into the tournament. --
:28:04. > :28:14.broken 25 times coming into the tournament.
:28:15. > :28:18.25 times coming into this match, rather, and he certainly needs
:28:19. > :29:14.another break of serve. I'd say Murray breaks a string twice
:29:15. > :29:19.a year. And at 2-0 down, it's not a good time to break a string. Once a
:29:20. > :29:53.string breaks, you have very little control over a ball.
:29:54. > :30:00.BARKER: Andy Murray fighting hard but Grigor Dimitrov playing superb
:30:01. > :30:34.tennis. The men's quarterfinal is taking place on Court Number One.
:30:35. > :30:40.been on the cusp of making something. The Duke and Duchess of
:30:41. > :30:53.Cambridge looking slightly anxious, understandably so. The Dutch chef
:30:54. > :30:58.loves her tennis. -- the Duchess. Andy Murray uses that hybrid of
:30:59. > :31:05.synthetic string and gut string and it does not sometimes give you any
:31:06. > :31:16.notice it is going to go. As Tim said, when the string rakes, you
:31:17. > :31:24.lose all control. -- once this string breaks. There are no scripts,
:31:25. > :31:27.we do not know what is going to happen and that is why we watch but
:31:28. > :32:35.Murray needs to be on his guard right now.
:32:36. > :32:37.facing after he hit that shot? Facing the players's box and pulling
:32:38. > :33:11.of it far too quickly. That is great movement around the
:33:12. > :33:13.court by both players. Andy caught a little off-guard there. Quick, firm
:33:14. > :34:04.shot. That is the one. Dimitrov took a little bit of a
:34:05. > :34:08.gamble, he was well inside the baseline. He has been caught a
:34:09. > :34:24.couple of times with some strong second serves out wide.
:34:25. > :34:33.Close to the edge of the abyss here for Murray in the third set. Did he
:34:34. > :34:39.do it again, in that forehand, did he pour off... He cannot afford
:34:40. > :34:49.these unforced errors at this stage. in the end, it was the gift of a
:34:50. > :36:25.break of serve to Dimitrov. Perhaps the evidence of the pressure
:36:26. > :36:59.Murray is feeling out there. is up against against Dimitrov, what
:37:00. > :37:04.about the pressure of defending? Does that come into play? Looking
:37:05. > :37:08.back over the course of history, it has been difficult for first-time
:37:09. > :37:10.winners here at Wimbledon to defend their title. Just four of them have
:37:11. > :37:37.managed to do it. Look at the movement here from
:37:38. > :37:42.Dimitrov, he slips, he turns, and he is back into position. And he ends
:37:43. > :38:17.up winning a big, big point. Having just broken Murray's serve.
:38:18. > :38:22.I think it is safe to say that Dimitrov can see the finish line but
:38:23. > :38:25.it is important he does not look at it just yet. He has to play it one
:38:26. > :38:44.point at a time. Dimitrov surely took a sigh of
:38:45. > :39:12.relief there, it was a gift. I have watched Andy since he was 16
:39:13. > :39:16.and some of the areas that generally he has been rock solid and so secure
:39:17. > :39:28.on, just have not been apparent today.
:39:29. > :39:42.Dimitrov has grasped this opportunity with both hands.
:39:43. > :39:51.He is within one game of a semifinal place at Wimbledon. He was one good
:39:52. > :39:56.forehand away from going up two set to one against Nadal in Australia.
:39:57. > :40:00.We talked at the start of the match about moments in both of these
:40:01. > :40:04.guys's careers, that can come back to help you in certain situations
:40:05. > :40:10.and today, he has looked Serena and calm when the moment of calm. We
:40:11. > :40:13.talked earlier about these young guys, these young players that come
:40:14. > :40:21.out and play. They feel it is their time. Federer has been up there for
:40:22. > :40:26.a while. Nadal has won nine French opens and Murray and Djokovic as
:40:27. > :40:32.well. They are looking at the opportunity to get to the top. To
:40:33. > :40:36.play on this Centre Court at Wimbledon and play like this with no
:40:37. > :40:43.fear, it is really something special. And it is fun to watch.
:40:44. > :40:51.And that is youth. Sometimes, it is wasted on the young. But there it
:40:52. > :43:13.is. It is evident right in front of us of what is to follow.
:43:14. > :44:01.Two hours have gone and two match points for Dimitrov.
:44:02. > :44:13.The defence of Murray's Wimbledon crown is over. Defeated by a man we
:44:14. > :44:21.all knew was going to be dangerous. The Wimbledon champion is out.
:44:22. > :44:25.Grigor Dimitrov has been a name on many people's lips for many years
:44:26. > :44:30.now and his time has finally come here on Centre Court today. What a
:44:31. > :44:53.performance. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge
:44:54. > :45:00.looking on. Obviously, as everybody else is, a little despondent, that
:45:01. > :45:13.Murray has fallen, particularly in straight sets. A heavy defeat in
:45:14. > :45:14.many ways, a glimmer of hope in the second set which he took to a
:45:15. > :45:19.tie-break. CHEERING
:45:20. > :45:39.APPLAUSE It will not be the last time he
:45:40. > :45:45.takes this walk from Centre Court but it will be the last time he
:45:46. > :45:54.takes it this year. Such a strong showing through to the
:45:55. > :46:01.quarterfinals. Out in straight sets. He really is such a vicious
:46:02. > :46:07.competitor, that will hurt. One of the young guns that many people in
:46:08. > :46:12.the world of tennis have been looking to as really made his mark
:46:13. > :46:15.this year in 2014. Started by reaching the second week of a Grand
:46:16. > :46:27.Slam for the second time in Australia. And here, he is still in,
:46:28. > :46:30.through to the last format. -- four. It is the perfect stage to make an
:46:31. > :46:38.impression. And he did so emphatically.
:46:39. > :46:49.We will hear his thoughts now. Congratulations. It must feel like a
:46:50. > :46:53.dream come true? Yes. I am excited. I am happy I went through that match
:46:54. > :46:54.in straight sets, it is never easy coming to play against Andy,
:46:55. > :47:06.especially in the home crowd. I have been pretty fortunate today
:47:07. > :47:11.and I am happy. You played pretty well. Andy maybe was not at his
:47:12. > :47:16.usual level, did you sense an opportunity it might be early doors?
:47:17. > :47:20.When warming up I sensed his game was not at his highest level but at
:47:21. > :47:24.the same time, I was feeling pretty confident. I knew it would be a good
:47:25. > :47:27.match. The first set really helped me get into a good rhythm and I was
:47:28. > :47:32.holding my ground throughout the whole match will stop the second set
:47:33. > :47:38.tie-break was the key moment for me. Coming into that third set, I had a
:47:39. > :47:41.lot of things under control. It is interesting you could sense it so
:47:42. > :47:46.early that maybe Andy was not going to be on his top form initially. You
:47:47. > :47:51.have played a lot with him in practice. You know him well, does
:47:52. > :47:57.that help? Indeed, I think it helped a little bit. Matches are different
:47:58. > :48:02.things. When it is time to play, there is a mentality change. It does
:48:03. > :48:10.not really matter. It is the equivalent of a practice match.
:48:11. > :48:16.Today was one of those days. I was pretty steady during the whole
:48:17. > :48:20.match. And I came out of the winner. You have been playing so well. We
:48:21. > :48:28.saw you at Queen's, this is a tremendous run here, semifinal at
:48:29. > :48:36.Wimbledon. You seem edible bit subdued, is it because Andy Murray
:48:37. > :48:38.is a friend? Yes. It is a tough feeling when you know the person
:48:39. > :48:46.well outside the court and then you have to face them on a court like
:48:47. > :48:50.that. The only thing I can say, I have hopefully two more matches to
:48:51. > :48:56.play and I am trying to stay on course and prepare for the next one.
:48:57. > :49:00.Tremendous performance, well done. Thank you. SUE BARKER: he might be
:49:01. > :49:04.through to his first Grand Slam semifinal at Wimbledon but he has
:49:05. > :49:09.his eye on going even further. He is wanting to win the next one as well.
:49:10. > :49:13.What a performance from Grigor Dimitrov. He continues his amazing
:49:14. > :49:18.summer on the grass courts. Ten matches unbeaten. From Queen's and
:49:19. > :49:22.at Wimbledon but a disappointing end to Andy Murray's defence. You can
:49:23. > :49:31.take nothing away from this man, he produced the match of his life.
:49:32. > :49:37.That was on Centre Court. Andy is with me in the studio to analyse
:49:38. > :49:42.that match. We will also hear from our commentary team as well. We did
:49:43. > :49:47.not expect that at the start of the day, Jimmy, it is tough to come back
:49:48. > :49:52.and defend your title. Only four men have done that, having won the title
:49:53. > :49:58.for the first time and they are big names. Boris Becker, Bjorn Borg,
:49:59. > :50:02.Roger Federer and Pete Sampras. It is not easy and Andy came out today
:50:03. > :50:07.and I thought he looked a little flat earlier on but all credit to
:50:08. > :50:11.Dimitrov. He was eager and he was on top of his game. He was in full
:50:12. > :50:15.flight in my opinion. It is interesting, the last couple of
:50:16. > :50:20.days, to see the young guys come out, they expect to win. They are
:50:21. > :50:23.playing the kind of tennis that allows them to go forward and to
:50:24. > :50:28.start making their name on this Centre Court at Wimbledon. It has
:50:29. > :50:34.been fun to watch. Tim, Dimitrov was attacking and dominating. What about
:50:35. > :50:39.the service of Andy Murray, that was his chance to dominate. I think with
:50:40. > :50:44.Andy's performance in his first matches, his serving had been first
:50:45. > :50:53.class and today he struggle. His first serve this was not so bad, but
:50:54. > :50:58.every time he lost the first serve, he only won I think about three out
:50:59. > :51:03.of ten on the second serve. Dimitrov played fantastically well. He
:51:04. > :51:10.dominated from the word go. He won the first set 6-1 in ten minutes. He
:51:11. > :51:15.played three great points in a row and it will be an uphill battle.
:51:16. > :51:19.Andy will be very honest and he did not play his best today. From our
:51:20. > :51:22.point of view, I don't think there is too much to analyse. Sometimes
:51:23. > :51:27.you looked into these different types of reasons, and he did not
:51:28. > :51:31.play very well today and his opponent took full advantage and
:51:32. > :51:36.congratulations to Dimitrov. Because he is another future star. He is one
:51:37. > :51:41.of these young up-and-coming players that will be around for a very long
:51:42. > :51:49.time. He did not put a foot wrong. Mark Petchey, you know Andy well.
:51:50. > :51:53.There was nothing there for him? That is the one big surprise. When I
:51:54. > :51:57.have watched, I am always sitting here thinking, this is the moment
:51:58. > :52:01.when he will turn it around. Because it has happened so many times.
:52:02. > :52:06.Rising up through the rankings and once he settled in the top ten, he
:52:07. > :52:10.has always had that inmate ability that all these champions have, to
:52:11. > :52:14.figure it out somehow and change his game and get in his opponent's head.
:52:15. > :52:20.Today, there were about X or seven times when I thought, this is the
:52:21. > :52:24.moment. And he delivered the unforced errors which is so unlike
:52:25. > :52:29.him. Read it to Dimitrov, his movement at the back of the court
:52:30. > :52:36.today was exceptional. -- credit to Dimitrov. I think he was a little
:52:37. > :52:43.bit put off at how well Dimitrov was able to deal with some of his shots.
:52:44. > :52:49.This is Andrew. Do you see Dimitrov as a person who can now go ahead and
:52:50. > :52:54.beat Djokovic and possibly Federer in the final? There are a lot of
:52:55. > :52:58.steps to take but do you see him as a possible champion? When it was
:52:59. > :53:03.suggested at Queen's Club, most people laughed and said, no way, too
:53:04. > :53:10.soon. He is in the semifinal, now, you have to just say, why not? He
:53:11. > :53:14.has got to this point. He played spectacular tennis today. It will
:53:15. > :53:18.not get any easier, it will get tougher and he will have to lift his
:53:19. > :53:24.level of play. He is in the semifinal. If he is satisfied with
:53:25. > :53:29.just being there, that is the question, and I don't think he is. I
:53:30. > :53:32.don't think any of the young guys are. They want to make their name at
:53:33. > :53:37.Wimbledon now and they are willing to play that kind of tennis to do
:53:38. > :53:42.it. In that interview, that came across. He said he had won this
:53:43. > :53:49.match but he is I was on the bigger picture. -- he had his eye on the
:53:50. > :53:54.bigger picture. Why was Andy Murray not attacking more? We talked about
:53:55. > :53:58.with Ivan Lendl how we encouraged him to go forward and make things
:53:59. > :54:04.happen. He reverted back to his old style a little today. We talked a
:54:05. > :54:11.little bit about it in commentary. Andy is at his best when he is
:54:12. > :54:15.proactive. His default mechanism is to run and try to not miss and
:54:16. > :54:19.against Dimitrov playing as well as he was, absolutely he needed to be
:54:20. > :54:23.more aggressive. That centres around his verve to set up the opportunity
:54:24. > :54:29.to move forward. He did not serve his best today. When they were
:54:30. > :54:34.getting into baseline rallies, Dimitrov's defensive skills kept him
:54:35. > :54:37.in rallies. He is trying to find different solutions to the conundrum
:54:38. > :54:41.out there but was not able to do it. It will be a match that he will
:54:42. > :54:46.reflect on in the coming days and weeks. He will learn from it and I
:54:47. > :54:53.am sure he has many more opportunities in the future. Tank
:54:54. > :54:56.you guys. -- thank you. It is difficult when you are on the
:54:57. > :54:59.receiving end of these rallies, fighting to stay in the rally, to
:55:00. > :55:04.get yourself into a positive frame of mind? And if you do not get out
:55:05. > :55:12.there thinking in quite the same way, or the right way, someone with
:55:13. > :55:21.brilliant tactics, it is tough to play your way in. We used to ease
:55:22. > :55:26.our way into matches but nowadays, you cannot afford to take a step
:55:27. > :55:32.back even for a moment. Congratulations to Roger Rasheed,
:55:33. > :55:35.the strategy was brilliant. I happen to be speaking with Roger and Grigor
:55:36. > :55:40.Dimitrov at the practice court on Sunday. They were doing very
:55:41. > :55:51.specific drills, aiming at the forehand side of Andy Murray. They
:55:52. > :55:55.were aiming the attack constantly that way, looking to get into the
:55:56. > :55:59.net and finish the points. They were talking about attacking the second
:56:00. > :56:08.serve and intimidating and eat with that. The positivity and divide and
:56:09. > :56:12.the personality, the persona Grigor Dimitrov has been putting out is
:56:13. > :56:18.that of a champion. I thought it was very moving that at the end, he was
:56:19. > :56:22.very subdued, I thought that was though respectful. He wears a
:56:23. > :56:26.champion's feeling, you cannot really put your finger on what it
:56:27. > :56:31.is. But in the changing room, he will not be that calm, it is a
:56:32. > :56:35.delightful victory. Why Andy was flat, I do not know. We'll Amelie
:56:36. > :56:41.Mauresmo still be around for the summer? Who knows because that is
:56:42. > :56:45.not a great start. In the manner he lost, it was all Grigor Dimitrov, he
:56:46. > :56:50.was attacking and it made Andy Murray look so defensive and very
:56:51. > :56:55.nervy as well. You cannot be passive against somebody who comes at you
:56:56. > :56:59.with the tools Dimitrov has. That backhand slice zips off the court.
:57:00. > :57:06.Yes you will be nervous on the big stage. Even with Andy's record on
:57:07. > :57:10.Sundays, you are just flat. And times it just happens that way and
:57:11. > :57:16.if you are playing against someone in this kind of form... Look at his
:57:17. > :57:23.movement, it is area unusual for Andy to miss one like this. He is
:57:24. > :57:27.playing someone who keeps getting the ball back and ask difficult
:57:28. > :57:31.questions. You end up disappointing the crowd as well as yourself. And
:57:32. > :57:36.you do not involve the crowd as much. You wanted him to have one
:57:37. > :57:43.inspired grain and get the crowd involved and be energised. -- one
:57:44. > :57:52.inspired game. Until Stockholm lasted, Dimitrov had not won a
:57:53. > :57:57.tournament and he has won four now. He was nervous serving at Queen's.
:57:58. > :58:01.Almost a double fault against Lopez. But he managed to save the match
:58:02. > :58:09.point. He has won an awful lot of matches and matters who is down the
:58:10. > :58:14.other end. Andy Murray will be there, you do not win a US Open,
:58:15. > :58:20.Olympic gold medal and Wimbledon by being poor at the game. We talked
:58:21. > :58:24.about the crystallisation of a talent and we are seeing it from
:58:25. > :58:28.Dimitrov at the moment. Andy Murray coming back from a back injury as
:58:29. > :58:36.well. Let's hear from Andy Murray now. A lot of people surprised at
:58:37. > :58:42.the result of today's match. I am disappointed. Especially with the
:58:43. > :58:49.way I started the match. I played a poor first set. I felt that gave him
:58:50. > :58:56.confidence. I needed to play at the beginning better. In the second set,
:58:57. > :59:00.it got tight at the end and it could have gone either way. And again when
:59:01. > :59:10.he got that set, it is a lot easier to settle down when you are two sets
:59:11. > :59:16.to love art. -- up. Maybe I could have found a way back. But it was
:59:17. > :59:20.not a great day. Being a professional, I am sure you will not
:59:21. > :59:24.make excuses, but Grigor Dimitrov said he thought you were not quite
:59:25. > :59:34.yourself in the warm up. Was there anything to that? No, I felt fine.
:59:35. > :59:39.To be honest. But I obviously got off to a bad start. That was a
:59:40. > :59:44.disappointing part of the match for me. I found a way to get myself back
:59:45. > :59:50.into it at the end of the second set, but the start was not good
:59:51. > :59:54.enough. You need to start better. When you are playing best of five
:59:55. > :00:02.matches, there is time to come back, but I did not get it. You were
:00:03. > :00:11.up against a high-class opponent, somebody you know very well. What
:00:12. > :00:14.did you say to him after the match? I just came off the court so it is
:00:15. > :00:19.hard to analyse everything that happened out there. He played a very
:00:20. > :00:26.solid match and made very few mistakes. He served well. Made a lot
:00:27. > :00:34.of returns. All of the percentages were in his favour. He played a very
:00:35. > :00:42.good match. ANDREW CASTLE: I wish I had played better and made it
:00:43. > :00:47.tougher for him. I have been in that situation. I knew how difficult it
:00:48. > :00:52.was when I was trying to get into slams for the first time. I wish I
:00:53. > :00:56.could have pushed him more. As the defending champion, people talk
:00:57. > :01:00.about how things change as you come back as champion. Has that been an
:01:01. > :01:07.experience that you feel you will learn from for the future? Yeah. For
:01:08. > :01:11.me it wasn't so much about learning, but trying to enjoy the experience.
:01:12. > :01:15.You never know if you're going to get an opportunity to do that again.
:01:16. > :01:20.To be fair, I did a decent job and the first week I started the
:01:21. > :01:27.tournament very well and played some good stuff. Today just wasn't my
:01:28. > :01:32.day. Thank you for your time. You can tell how disappointed he is. The
:01:33. > :01:38.last time he lost in straight sets was to Rafael Nadal in 2010. He
:01:39. > :01:45.dropped that first set 6-1. He has not dropped a set by that score
:01:46. > :01:50.since 2005. When Rafael Nadal went out, I was thinking it is game on. I
:01:51. > :01:55.considered him to be the greatest threat. I don't think he has an
:01:56. > :01:58.explanation for what happened and he doesn't owe us any, there is no
:01:59. > :02:03.excuses to be made. I think sometimes you can be outplayed and
:02:04. > :02:08.sometimes you can just play poorly. You know f played that match again
:02:09. > :02:12.in half an hour's time, Andy would probably play a good match. It just
:02:13. > :02:18.so happens. It is a match and one person against another. And the
:02:19. > :02:21.sport thrives on the entrants of new people and with Dimitrov and we have
:02:22. > :02:26.been lucky enough to see him at Queens and here, he has got
:02:27. > :02:30.something a bit special. And that might have affected Andy today. But
:02:31. > :02:36.Andy is no less of a champion for losing one match. Dimitrov, he
:02:37. > :02:43.didn't put a foot wrong. You kept thinking is he going to have a dip
:02:44. > :02:47.in form and he didn't. Murray didn't serve hard and we are trying to
:02:48. > :02:52.figure out. If you're a bit scared and intimidated, that is the sort of
:02:53. > :02:57.thing thanes. Dimitrov comes at you like an octopus flinging a racket.
:02:58. > :03:02.He has so many different shots and the racket moves so fast. The game
:03:03. > :03:07.plan again, take Andy's second serve and opinionish it. Make it -- and
:03:08. > :03:14.punish it. Make it feel like every time he is worried about missing his
:03:15. > :03:18.first serve. I think what happened today was Dimitrov forced his game,
:03:19. > :03:23.his personality on to his opponent. Which is the name of the game. When
:03:24. > :03:27.it is being punished like that, you start questioning yourself, what is
:03:28. > :03:33.wrong with my serve and it starts to go wrong. We haven't seen Andy
:03:34. > :03:37.wroebgen -- broken that often on grass. Five times today. We spich
:03:38. > :03:43.these things together and you look at them and you can see why Andy was
:03:44. > :03:49.feeling broken up. Some of these shots are of an unusually high
:03:50. > :04:02.standard. This is an unusual talent we are looking at. Forget this Baby
:04:03. > :04:06.Fed nonsense. Everyone has known that Dimitrov was going to happen
:04:07. > :04:10.probably. And it is happening now. It is this flourishing of new
:04:11. > :04:15.talent, which I prefer to concentrate on, rather than Andy a
:04:16. > :04:19.difficult day today. He will feel horrible tonight. But we thank him
:04:20. > :04:27.for another great effort. Seven quarter finals in a row. But now, we
:04:28. > :04:33.celebrate Grigor. Another new name like Kyrgios. We talked of Murray
:04:34. > :04:38.serve not being at his best, but Dimitrov was slamming then down time
:04:39. > :04:45.after time. Whereabouts is he going to serve it? There is little to read
:04:46. > :04:51.like Sampras and Federer. It is the accuracy and the fact that mixing it
:04:52. > :04:56.up, not allowing your opponent to even have a thought as to where it
:04:57. > :04:59.might go. He seemed to have the ball on a string today. But this
:05:00. > :05:03.tournament and watching him off court and around the grounds, you
:05:04. > :05:11.look at this guy and you just go, well this is exciting. With Kyrgios
:05:12. > :05:15.as well and Raonic, we are seeing a flourishing of players born in the
:05:16. > :05:22.90s and they're all interesting. Kyrgios with his weird hair cut and
:05:23. > :05:26.beating Rafael Nadal. And Grigor was worried about the crowd and the
:05:27. > :05:34.reaction of the crowd. Because kit be -- it can be intense in centre.
:05:35. > :05:38.Normally polite, but intense. Like Jimmy said, they have high
:05:39. > :05:44.expectations of themselves this young crowd. If he can get on Murray
:05:45. > :05:49.straightaway, that does silence the crowd. You have to applaud Grigor
:05:50. > :05:55.and Roger Rashid for what they have done, not just mentally, but
:05:56. > :06:01.hisically. He was running -- but physically. He was running balls
:06:02. > :06:07.down. You're allowed to look at Grigor's lengths the next time,
:06:08. > :06:12.because there is like scars all over his knees, down his shins. He spends
:06:13. > :06:16.more time scrabbling around in the dirt and he is just an amazing
:06:17. > :06:23.athlete. I'm sorry to go on about it, I was accused on social media of
:06:24. > :06:27.being infatuated and obsessed with this player. But I have been for
:06:28. > :06:34.years. It is the way he plays the game. I like the way he handles
:06:35. > :06:42.stuff and he is Maria Sharapova's boyfriend. But his tennis. There is
:06:43. > :06:48.an element of game I fell in love with at the age of nine. He said of
:06:49. > :06:53.Maria, he said watching her work ethic, because she is a great
:06:54. > :06:59.champion, who could retire and live well. He said he learned from her.
:07:00. > :07:07.Room for two stars in a relationship. These are two
:07:08. > :07:12.cross-over stars. Grigor will have big interests outside the game. He
:07:13. > :07:16.is great with all ages and sexes and to have Maria in the camp and to be
:07:17. > :07:22.helping and being around. But he gets the big picture. We saw him at
:07:23. > :07:26.Queens, he talks to the ball kids, he signs the autographs. He gets
:07:27. > :07:32.that he is more than a player. But he does it from here. You can tell
:07:33. > :07:37.somebody all day long to, if you do this, if media training, like a
:07:38. > :07:42.politician, always know the interviewer's name, Sue! Makes the
:07:43. > :07:49.interviewer feel good. But he gets that any way. Hello, Andrew, I'm
:07:50. > :07:52.immediately on his side. That is pure flattery, but it is important,
:07:53. > :07:58.because he is projecting the image of the sport. Kyrgios gets it as
:07:59. > :08:03.well. Raonic you have never heard him say anything. But all of these
:08:04. > :08:07.elements go to making the complete package. But its about hitting
:08:08. > :08:10.tennis balls and Grigor does that pretty well. When we looked at
:08:11. > :08:15.Murray, we thought he has not reached a final since he has come
:08:16. > :08:20.back from his back surgery and he had a disappointing semi final, he
:08:21. > :08:25.was overpowered at the French Open. So our expectations were a bit
:08:26. > :08:31.elevated, thinking could he do it again. In reality it would have been
:08:32. > :08:34.a huge ask. It is his fault for playing so well in the first week.
:08:35. > :08:40.Do you think that was a key. He needed a tougher match to get a bit
:08:41. > :08:46.more gritty? I think we can speculate as to what would have
:08:47. > :08:51.toughened him up for this match. Perhaps a five-setter. But I... It
:08:52. > :08:55.is all just speculation. I don't know what went wrong today. He
:08:56. > :08:58.looked a bit sleepy and like he was on the back foot and he would
:08:59. > :09:03.probably start the match differently. But have an extra cuff
:09:04. > :09:09.of coffee or something. I think we have to chalk it up to a fine
:09:10. > :09:13.Dimitrov performance, rather than a poor Murray one. Again respect to
:09:14. > :09:18.Andy for coming out. I know it is his obligation, do doing the
:09:19. > :09:22.interview, being honest, embracing that he has been outplayed, not
:09:23. > :09:27.making excuses and he will get on with it. But he will be very cross.
:09:28. > :09:33.He is a competitor. Me will take this one hard. Yeah, that is an
:09:34. > :09:40.arrow to the heart losing to somebody. Everyone has been talking
:09:41. > :09:44.about this pesky dim prove since -- Dimitrov since Queens. He is on the
:09:45. > :09:49.way. There is another member of the club I think right up at the top,
:09:50. > :09:53.with Nadal going out the way he has, Federer getting older. There is a
:09:54. > :09:57.sense of a possible turning of the tide as these youngsters begin to
:09:58. > :10:02.knock off the bigger names. Nadal and Murray within the space of 24
:10:03. > :10:10.hours. That is unusual. Thank you. We will have further reaction later
:10:11. > :10:16.on. On Centre Court it is the all-Swiss bat as Roger Federer comes
:10:17. > :10:21.out to face the Australian Open champion, Stan Wawrinka. Federer
:10:22. > :10:26.knows all about winning here. But he is the No 2 Swiss, although he is
:10:27. > :10:33.seeded above Stan Wawrinka. But that is the match on Centre Court and we
:10:34. > :10:40.will go to that shortly on BBC2. We are heading to court No 1, because
:10:41. > :10:48.Novak Djokovic and Marin Cilic. Are we in for another shock? It is 1-1.
:10:49. > :10:52.Cilic a mini-break up in this tie-break and here is Peter Fleming
:10:53. > :11:56.and Andrew Cotter. tie-break. Djokovic suddenly looks
:11:57. > :12:38.the stronger. That is the wide and Djokovic's
:12:39. > :12:44.footing is very uncertain. PETER FLEMING: It is like he is playing on
:12:45. > :13:22.ice. He can't get a firm footing seemingly ever.
:13:23. > :13:31.lifted himself for this tie-break. Cilic, six foot five, very agile, a
:13:32. > :13:41.difficult man to pass. In addition to that, managed a great drop
:13:42. > :13:45.volley. No one quite has the staring eyes of Djokovic when he is putting
:13:46. > :13:59.in the effort. He sprinted for that one.
:14:00. > :14:04.He has done that a few times, the big first serve well landed and then
:14:05. > :15:27.can't finish it off. That is the way to place a serve.
:15:28. > :15:49.What would Cilic give for two mighty first serves now?
:15:50. > :15:55.Well wonderfully finished off, because the return of Djokovic was
:15:56. > :16:16.something special, to even get to that.
:16:17. > :16:26.He has it! Cilic celebrates and if Djokovic the No 1 seed is to come
:16:27. > :16:39.back, he is going to have to do it the hard way, the long road by five
:16:40. > :16:45.sets. Cilic is in fronts. He showed us a lot. At 6-5, serving for the
:16:46. > :16:51.set, it is a nerve-wracking time. But also a crucial time. The first
:16:52. > :17:01.point often sets the tone for any sort of game. Cilic with with a duck
:17:02. > :17:05.hit the net. And then he lost his serve and you thought that will be
:17:06. > :17:12.tough to come back. But he did ever so well to regain his composure and
:17:13. > :17:17.in the end was the dominant player in the tie-break. He lifted his
:17:18. > :17:23.first serve percentage. Because it wasn't great before that. Exactly
:17:24. > :17:29.right. And at break point converse, Cilic took one of the two
:17:30. > :17:35.opportunities given and Djokovic was wasteful. He came to the net eleven
:17:36. > :17:41.times and one eight of them. That was an important factor I think that
:17:42. > :17:51.he was able to attack just a little more able to attack a little more.
:17:52. > :17:56.But what a shock to the environment. This was the shot. Come on! He was
:17:57. > :18:02.serving for the set. First point of that game and he had to go into a
:18:03. > :18:06.tie-break. We thought that might cost him dear that moment of
:18:07. > :18:15.silliness. He has come back from that and responded to well. I'm sure
:18:16. > :18:20.it will have helped him grow just a little bit. The other thing we
:18:21. > :18:25.stress in the first set he was being slowly ground into the court one
:18:26. > :18:30.grass by Djokovic. It was a poor performance by Cilic and Djokovic
:18:31. > :18:38.was pretty strong and we thought it would be one-way traffic. But
:18:39. > :18:44.suddenly Djokovic trails 2-1 and Cilic has as good a chance as he
:18:45. > :18:50.ever will of reaching a semi final at Wimbledon. These first couple of
:18:51. > :18:53.service games vital for Cilic. He has put the hammer down. Keep
:18:54. > :20:46.Djokovic under the cosh. Not the purest strike from Cilic.
:20:47. > :20:58.Immediately in this fourth set under pressure on his serve.
:20:59. > :21:07.With some bookers you can bet in play and the odds change all the
:21:08. > :21:24.time, I wonder if Djokovic is still favourite?
:21:25. > :21:29.You would probably get evens for him. Exactly. Which might not be a
:21:30. > :22:11.bad bet. Such an important game to start this
:22:12. > :22:49.set. Now, we know what he is flapping
:22:50. > :22:54.about there. He just can't stand up! It is like Murray in the time last
:22:55. > :22:57.year, looking to his box and saying, find me some fine shoes that I can
:22:58. > :23:17.work with. Cilic rowses himself for -- rouses
:23:18. > :23:20.himself for break point. Maybe he has gone off to get some new
:23:21. > :23:50.trainers. All this flapping around has to be a
:23:51. > :24:37.distraction for Cilic. Oh, it's wide! Djokovic has the
:24:38. > :24:43.break. Staring still at his box. Not a walk of a joyful man who has just
:24:44. > :24:46.made the break through. But Boris trying to give him some
:24:47. > :24:52.encouragement. But he has the break at the start of this fourth set.
:24:53. > :24:57.Well, down came the reinforcements. Boris just passed him another pair
:24:58. > :24:59.of shoes. Let's see if he changes into them now. No, he will have to
:25:00. > :25:49.wait until the next full changeover. Slippery for all out there. It is
:25:50. > :25:51.just very dry. They're back after found some new foot wear. But Cilic
:25:52. > :26:01.not exempt from those problems. Because both players are sliding as
:26:02. > :26:05.much as they are, it is more a matter of just knowing,
:26:06. > :26:19.understanding how the court surface will react.
:26:20. > :26:26.It is just because it is that much drier today, it is just a little
:26:27. > :27:11.more slippy. Immediately a chance for Cilic to
:27:12. > :27:58.get that break back. That brutal forehand from Cilic
:27:59. > :30:28.doing its work again. His body is taking a beating today.
:30:29. > :31:10.He has fallen over a number of times.
:31:11. > :31:17.Careful that time not to hit the net! What a carefully played driver
:31:18. > :32:22.volley from chill itch. The first time in a while Cilic
:32:23. > :33:19.being made to do a little bit, really.
:33:20. > :33:26.And, despite the mutterings coming from Novak Djokovic, he has got an
:33:27. > :33:58.opportunity for a double break. UMPIRE: Game, Djokovic.
:33:59. > :34:01.And Djokovic has that double break. Use a spectre that, even with a long
:34:02. > :34:07.way to go in this set, a 50s calling.
:34:08. > :34:14.SUE BARKER: Absolutely. You can't imagine Djokovic letting that lead
:34:15. > :34:19.slip. We now know that the winner of this match will face Grigor Dimitrov
:34:20. > :34:23.who has put out the defending champion Andy Murray in straight
:34:24. > :34:31.sets. A convincing performance, a champion's performance from Grigor
:34:32. > :34:35.Dimitrov. This boy has a lot to celebrate, and the world of tennis
:34:36. > :34:43.does. He is a champion in the making. And over on Centre Court at
:34:44. > :34:48.the moment, the seven time champion in real trouble, a break of serve
:34:49. > :34:57.down to his fellow Swiss Stan Wawrinka. That is live on BBC Two.
:34:58. > :35:07.Are we in for another big shock on Centre Court? Even though Wawrinka
:35:08. > :35:08.is ranked above Federer, you expect Federer to be at home on Centre
:35:09. > :35:27.Court. Back we go to this match. New footwear, perhaps different
:35:28. > :35:33.footwear. He has just not been happy with his footwork taught in this
:35:34. > :35:42.match, so far, Djokovic. The groundsman won't like it if he has
:35:43. > :35:49.spikes on there. That used to be the case, that you would wear spikes if
:35:50. > :35:55.it was raining. So he has a new pair of shoes, and certainly a new spring
:35:56. > :36:03.in his step. He is two breaks up in this fourth set. Of course, they
:36:04. > :36:41.used to play when it was raining, too. Hard as nails.
:36:42. > :36:45.He is not going to waste a lot of energy attempt to come back. He is
:36:46. > :37:07.going for the fifth set. That is a good point. What do you do
:37:08. > :37:12.if you are Cilic? You know it is likely to go to the fifth set. Do
:37:13. > :37:20.you conserve energy? Yes, he shouldn't go chasing lost causes.
:37:21. > :37:26.But you know, it is more an emotional conservation of energy.
:37:27. > :37:30.Then physical. I think physically he is feeling fine. He could probably
:37:31. > :37:35.chase everything. But mentally, he has probably let go a little bit,
:37:36. > :37:42.and thought, if it happens for me, great, but if not, I won't worry
:37:43. > :37:45.about it. Not too much time or energy for either player in that
:37:46. > :37:55.game. UMPIRE: Djokovic leads 4-0, fourth
:37:56. > :38:00.set. Just looking at five set records the
:38:01. > :38:01.Djokovic. He lost to Stan Wawrinka in the quarters of the Australian
:38:02. > :39:43.Open. But he has won most. I think both players think this is
:39:44. > :39:54.going to a fifth set. Get me more shoes! Both players thinking about
:39:55. > :40:03.who will serve first in a final set. Hold here from Marin Cilic. And that
:40:04. > :40:09.is an important hold. For two reasons, because first of all, as
:40:10. > :40:14.you said, he would like to start serving in the fifth set, but
:40:15. > :40:23.secondly, just to re-establish a confident mood on serve. If you go
:40:24. > :40:29.in having lost a 6-0 set, then you are certainly a bit jittery, a bit
:40:30. > :40:33.and a confident, starting the fifth. That is no way to be. Still a
:40:34. > :40:39.different feel to the different courts here at Wimbledon. Some might
:40:40. > :40:44.assume that Court Number One has a different feel to Centre Court, but
:40:45. > :40:49.it might be why Djokovic is struggling a bit. But he has played
:40:50. > :41:00.in these conditions before. I don't know. It could be that he is just on
:41:01. > :41:04.age, knowing that he is a heavy favourite to win this match, he has
:41:05. > :41:12.beaten Cilic nine times in their nine previous matches. Knowing that
:41:13. > :41:16.one of the guys that he fears most, well, two of the guys that he fears
:41:17. > :41:22.most are out of the tournament. It adds a little bit to the pressure.
:41:23. > :41:31.These are worrying times for the big four! I guess so. Nadal gone, Murray
:41:32. > :41:36.gone, Djokovic fighting hard to stay in things. But he is looking
:41:37. > :42:31.comfortable, at least in this fourth set. Serving with new balls.
:42:32. > :43:08.UMPIRE: Game, Djokovic. Ominously comfortable. So, Cilic
:43:09. > :43:15.will throw a little bit more into this game to hold serve, making sure
:43:16. > :44:18.that Djokovic will have to serve out, so that he can start the fifth.
:44:19. > :44:54.Everyone knows that a fifth set is coming, and that is when things will
:44:55. > :45:13.get interesting again. But he does what he has to do,
:45:14. > :45:19.making Djokovic serve for it. You made a good point, Andrew. These
:45:20. > :45:23.players play every day, and they are used to playing for such extended
:45:24. > :45:32.periods of time. The crowd comes out here, it is a holiday. Two hours and
:45:33. > :45:37.44 minutes, tired of concentrating for that length of time. So they
:45:38. > :45:41.just take an emotional, mental breather, and rejoin the match in
:45:42. > :45:49.the fifth. These guys don't quite have that luxury. He has gone off to
:45:50. > :45:59.a happy place somewhere to concentrate, focus, recharge. It is
:46:00. > :46:06.looking a little bit more sparse, a few gaps after Andy Murray's
:46:07. > :46:10.departure. Well, they are sleeping, that's for sure. It is warm out
:46:11. > :46:27.there today, no doubt about that. It has been a very impressive effort
:46:28. > :46:41.from Cilic after that first set. He would be the third Croatian to reach
:46:42. > :46:51.the semifinals of Wimbledon. After it even is a Goran Ivanisevic and
:46:52. > :48:24.Ancic. That was a huge forehand from Cilic,
:48:25. > :49:28.and a more comfortable slide. Those shoes are working.
:49:29. > :49:38.For some time we have anticipated this moment, set point for Djokovic
:49:39. > :49:45.to draw level. And into the fifth set we go. Djokovic still fighting.
:49:46. > :49:49.SUE BARKER: So this one is going the distance. It will all be decided in
:49:50. > :49:53.the final set, and we will be back soon. But the big story here today
:49:54. > :50:00.is the defending champion Andy Murray is out, outplayed by the
:50:01. > :50:07.talented Grigor Dimitrov, who won at Queen's Club, but he was in all some
:50:08. > :50:12.form today. Murray broke and five times during this match. But
:50:13. > :50:16.although he wasn't at his best, this man certainly was. The best match of
:50:17. > :50:21.his career so far, and through to his first Grand Slam semifinal.
:50:22. > :50:30.Celebrations the Dimitrov on Centre Court. Let's hear what Andy had to
:50:31. > :50:36.say to the press after the match. The toughest loss of my career was
:50:37. > :50:40.losing in the final here in 2012. But I need to go away and make a lot
:50:41. > :50:46.of improvements in my game. I have lost a couple of matches in the last
:50:47. > :50:55.few slams where I have lost in straight sets and played poorly, so
:50:56. > :51:00.I need to have a think about things, what are the things I need to
:51:01. > :51:05.improve and get myself in better shape and work even harder, because
:51:06. > :51:11.everyone is starting to get better. The younger guys are becoming more
:51:12. > :51:16.mature and improving all the time, and I need to make some improvements
:51:17. > :51:22.to my game. We will sit down and chat about
:51:23. > :51:29.that, maybe tomorrow or in a few days. And yes, it has to come from
:51:30. > :51:42.both sides. I have really enjoyed the last couple of weeks. I have
:51:43. > :51:47.found it good fun, calming, tactically I feel like the chances
:51:48. > :51:52.have been good, and the direction I would like my tennis to go in, I
:51:53. > :51:58.hope so. But we will need to sit down and chat.
:51:59. > :52:01.SUE BARKER: That was Andy chatting about his coaching Amelie Mauresmo
:52:02. > :52:05.and whether they will continue their partnership. This was the scene as
:52:06. > :52:09.he leaves Wimbledon for the last time. No doubt he will go on
:52:10. > :52:14.holiday, but he has a lot to think about. He lost in straight sets to
:52:15. > :52:19.Rafa at the French Open, and now straight sets here today. That is
:52:20. > :52:37.the story, so let's go back and see who is going to win this one.
:52:38. > :52:50.Every winner winner becomes more important, every mistake amplified.
:52:51. > :53:09.In the final set. As long as he keeps doing that, he
:53:10. > :53:14.will have every chance. This was a conservative forehand. Just a little
:53:15. > :53:38.short, a nice wrong footing forehand.
:53:39. > :53:58.It has been a match of precious few chances the Cilic on the Djokovic
:53:59. > :54:32.serve. He can't afford to waste them.
:54:33. > :54:48.You get the feeling that the unforced error is off the backhand
:54:49. > :54:55.may just be coming to an end. Djokovic looked rock-solid in the
:54:56. > :55:33.rally. He has the break straight away. At
:55:34. > :55:42.the start of the deciding set, Djokovic looks masterful again. It
:55:43. > :55:48.is interesting, Andrew, because when Djokovic got the new Pera shoes, it
:55:49. > :55:52.is almost as though -- pair of shoes, it is almost as though he had
:55:53. > :55:56.nothing to complain about. I have done what I can do, I have changed
:55:57. > :56:03.my shoes, and he became almost placid. He says the only difference
:56:04. > :56:08.between him winning and losing is the mental side of things. When he
:56:09. > :56:13.feels mentally good, he wins. It is not technical or physical. That is
:56:14. > :56:37.the case with everyone, trust me. When things start to go against you,
:56:38. > :56:59.they just don't quite come off. The most important game in this
:57:00. > :57:04.match was the first game in that fourth set.
:57:05. > :57:37.Suddenly Cilic is the player of the first set, not the second and third.
:57:38. > :57:53.UMPIRE: Djokovic leads to games to love, final set.
:57:54. > :57:57.Djokovic disdainfully hits the spare ball away as if to say, you are
:57:58. > :58:38.playing against the big boys now. When you think of the marathon
:58:39. > :58:47.matches Djokovic has played in Grand Slams, that fitness that he has.
:58:48. > :59:05.He has been there and done it so many times before.
:59:06. > :59:41.Remember against Dell pot -- Del Potro last year in the semifinal.
:59:42. > :59:54.From a stamina perspective, this is a walk in the park for Djokovic.
:59:55. > :00:54.Remind me not to join you for a walk in the park.
:00:55. > :01:03.Again just a few too many mistakes for his own good. That was an
:01:04. > :01:07.ambitious attempt. The off backhand. We will see perhaps that he said to
:01:08. > :01:26.himself, down the middle! That is a hole for Cilic, an
:01:27. > :01:32.important hole for Cilic. He remains just a break adrift. SUE BARKER: It
:01:33. > :01:37.is still Djokovic in charge. We will be back with this match on BBC1. On
:01:38. > :01:43.Centre Court, Roger Federer is in trouble. He has dropped the opening
:01:44. > :01:48.set to Stan Wawrinka. It is on serve in the second set. You can watch
:01:49. > :01:54.that match live on BBC Two. So the seven time champion on court in
:01:55. > :02:09.trouble and Novak Djokovic, the 2011 champion, hoping to win here against
:02:10. > :02:19.this man. John It has been a match of few opportunities, despite that
:02:20. > :02:22.Cilic led. He may just have one small window of opportunity and he
:02:23. > :02:30.is going to have the clamber through it. Exactly. Cilic has only had four
:02:31. > :02:37.break points. He has converted two. But Djokovic has had 17, converting
:02:38. > :02:49.it. It shows that Cilic will have been stressed a lot more, up against
:02:50. > :02:53.break points is a tired experience. Somehow though he needs to pull
:02:54. > :03:01.himself together. Perhaps with the aid of a little luck and get the
:03:02. > :04:36.break back. The No 1 seed with the break.
:04:37. > :04:43.Belief he can come back only comes from winning points. He can't win
:04:44. > :04:50.anything at the moment. Djokovic looks like the old Djokovic. These
:04:51. > :04:57.are not good times for Cilic, but Djokovic is looking mighty good
:04:58. > :05:05.again. .ing So often in the fifth set of matches, it is down to a
:05:06. > :05:56.battle of wills. Djokovic looking inDom nit tab right now.
:05:57. > :06:50.The backhand that was once way ward, now rock solid.
:06:51. > :07:40.Not yet a beaten man, but certainly he is taking on that air.
:07:41. > :08:21.Again does what he has to do. And they still believe. Again belief is
:08:22. > :08:26.one thing, but when you haven't had anything in the last couple of
:08:27. > :08:35.service games of Djokovic, Cilic has not been able to win a point. Eleven
:08:36. > :08:41.points in a row for Djokovic. Cilic somehow needs to send out the
:08:42. > :08:49.energy. Hope he can distract Djokovic into missing a few first
:08:50. > :09:00.serves. Against the first serve, chillic has struggled. It is often
:09:01. > :09:06.in situations like this it is about moments of inspiration. The great
:09:07. > :09:12.champions somehow seem to come up with it time and again and of course
:09:13. > :09:17.their foundation is so solid. I was what he was asking, the umpire. He
:09:18. > :09:25.has put in a call on his behalf. Calling for some ice I think. It is
:09:26. > :09:42.very warm out there in the latter stages of this match. Over three
:09:43. > :09:56.hours on court. But Djokovic looks fairly fresh. Again the No 1 seed
:09:57. > :10:26.with the break serving in this deciding, 3-2.
:10:27. > :11:00.Cilic gave it a stare, but Djokovic is turning it on in serve now.
:11:01. > :11:06.Time is running out, games are disappearing. 14 consecutive points
:11:07. > :11:52.won on serve by Djokovic now. Only a brief pause. Djokovic races
:11:53. > :11:57.along, the wind in his sails. Yeah, that serve 103mph. Djokovic mixing
:11:58. > :12:08.up his speeds and placements well now. And time for a new racket.
:12:09. > :12:15.There is an air of inevitability about this. Let's see what Cilic to
:12:16. > :12:19.do to change things around. The first thing he has to do is again
:12:20. > :13:29.hold serve. You hear the angst from Djokovic, he
:13:30. > :14:01.knows he has an opportunity to put this beyond all doubt.
:14:02. > :14:13.Put away with apparent ease by Djokovic. At least he made it look
:14:14. > :14:23.easy, in the longest rally of the match. He is trying to stop the rot
:14:24. > :14:39.and the seemingly inevitable here. UMPIRE: Mr Cilic is challenging the
:14:40. > :15:19.call. It is a pause to ask the question of Hawk-Eye.
:15:20. > :15:28.The crowd trying to rouse Cilic, or in support of Djokovic. Because this
:15:29. > :16:23.is a point and a further one to come to put this match beyond doubt.
:16:24. > :16:33.a roar, he moves close to the semi finals now. He will sit and then he
:16:34. > :16:39.will rise in a couple of minutes to serve for a place in the last four.
:16:40. > :16:50.Well, there were parts of this match when Novak Djokovic was surly, he
:16:51. > :16:59.was frustrated. But those moments have passed. He knows he is home
:17:00. > :17:03.now. We talked about when Cilic led by 2-1, what are the in play odds
:17:04. > :17:08.might have been on Djokovic. They were still about even. You suspected
:17:09. > :17:14.that he would come back and perhaps Cilic might drop his level a little
:17:15. > :17:29.bit. And both those things have happened. These guys are great
:17:30. > :17:34.champions, because they are such strong mental gladiators, they can
:17:35. > :17:41.focus for such a long period of time and such an intense amount that it
:17:42. > :17:50.is exhausting. To play against them. And Cilic just ran out of mental
:17:51. > :17:56.energy. And we use the past tense for chill chich, because -- Cilic,
:17:57. > :18:00.because he is nearly gone. Djokovic has given Cilic so little on serve.
:18:01. > :19:17.He now serves for the match. He is trying to the last, Cilic, but
:19:18. > :19:21.things are coming off now for Djokovic. Again so impressive on
:19:22. > :19:38.serve. Three match points. Victory for Djokovic. Again the arms
:19:39. > :19:46.are held aloft and he hits the winner. The No 1 seed. Through to
:19:47. > :19:52.the last four. And at a Wimbledon where the big beasts are being cut
:19:53. > :19:58.down, he still stands. A brave effort by Marin Cilic. But it is
:19:59. > :20:04.little consolation for him. He thought he may move through to the
:20:05. > :20:11.semi final. But instead it is Djokovic. The favourite, who goes
:20:12. > :20:16.on. There were nervous moments in that match for Novak Djokovic, make
:20:17. > :20:27.no mistake about that. But he overcame them. Winning going away,
:20:28. > :20:34.two and two. In the last two sets. A precious victory for Novak Djokovic.
:20:35. > :20:40.SUE BARKER: He is a man of steel, Novak Djokovic bgs through to his
:20:41. > :20:44.23rd Grand Slam semi final. We will hear from him later after that
:20:45. > :20:48.match. But we are heading live over to Centre Court because Roger
:20:49. > :20:52.Federer and Stan Wawrinka are involved in a second set tie-break.
:20:53. > :20:58.Stan Wawrinka having won the first set. Let's join our commentators,
:20:59. > :21:43.John McEnroe and Simon Reed. SIMON REED: He doesn't look great,
:21:44. > :21:57.but his expression very rarely changes. He has given him a gift
:21:58. > :21:59.there. JOHN MCENROE: He is not happy. That would have put the
:22:00. > :22:27.pressure on Stan Wawrinka. Federer gave a good look, I don't
:22:28. > :22:33.think he is going to challenge. If you find an angle like that and hit
:22:34. > :22:41.it at 129mph, you had better believe it's going to be an ace. That is
:22:42. > :22:48.only the fourth for Stan in the match. His first serve percentage
:22:49. > :22:55.still under 50%. His career record mediocre at best on grass. Yet here
:22:56. > :22:58.he is. This would be huge for Wawrinka to win this tie-break. That
:22:59. > :23:18.will make him feel better. Should have moved in and taken the
:23:19. > :23:25.return off the air. But he didn't and tried to hit that too hard from
:23:26. > :23:58.where he was. So Federer a mini-break up again.
:23:59. > :24:09.Gorgeous, even for someone of Federer's abilities to produce that
:24:10. > :24:14.it is amazing. Absolutely right. Specially at that tense time, deep
:24:15. > :24:31.in that mini-break. He just about got his feet out of
:24:32. > :25:12.the way. Three set points to Federer.
:25:13. > :25:21.He was feeling sick to his stomach and this will be a sickening feeling
:25:22. > :25:23.if he doesn't win this set. One set point saved. But he still has a
:25:24. > :25:48.couple more to go. have a feeling of being out. At
:25:49. > :25:55.worst it will be a replay of the point. Stan Wawrinka will not lose
:25:56. > :25:57.the set on this. And it was out. So it doesn't matter. A third set point
:25:58. > :26:57.now with Federer serving. One set all. That will make Federer
:26:58. > :27:02.feel a whole lot better. What about Wawrinka. That is the doctor. He is
:27:03. > :27:09.a trainer. He is not a doctor. Let's see if we can figure Ute what is
:27:10. > :27:15.going on. Pills. Immediately give me some pain medication. He pointed to
:27:16. > :27:21.his stomach. That is typical. He is not feeling well. Looks like he is
:27:22. > :27:28.going to get sick again. Almost wants to get it out of his system.
:27:29. > :27:35.Did you have that, John? Well, yeah. I think we all do. You try to to
:27:36. > :27:42.deal with the stress. You go to the lower back or the stomach. You have
:27:43. > :27:47.got to admire these guys for stepping up to the plate and
:27:48. > :27:51.handling it. A lot to deal with. You're just one person out there. No
:27:52. > :27:57.one to save you, no substitutes allowed. How important was it for
:27:58. > :28:03.Federer to get the break. Could he have come back. Well he has done it
:28:04. > :28:10.eight times, which is a lot. Wav rip Ca has done -- Wawrinka has done it
:28:11. > :28:17.a number of times. He took a risk and went bigger on the second serve,
:28:18. > :28:22.but he banked on Wawrinka's tendency to block a return back. He is not
:28:23. > :28:27.the type of player who normally goes and goes for it. And he was right.
:28:28. > :28:34.And he got the ball he wanted. It was a clip that was too high,
:28:35. > :28:42.Wawrinka easily put away. A whole new ball game now. You don't often
:28:43. > :28:48.see Mrs Federer as animated as she was there. No injury time out or
:28:49. > :28:54.medical time out. Wawrinka has played well. No question about it.
:28:55. > :29:05.He came to win this match. There has been some more, there is my idol,
:29:06. > :29:11.Rod Laver in the Royal Box, where me belongs. Twice one all four of these
:29:12. > :29:26.major events in one year. The only guy to ever do it.
:29:27. > :29:37.Order has been restored. Novak Djokovic has advanced routinely. One
:29:38. > :29:56.of the top guys has one. He went right at Federer. He almost
:29:57. > :30:02.took his head off. Friendship only goes so far. He will well to handle
:30:03. > :30:08.that big forehand by Federer. Take a look at this. Might have been going
:30:09. > :30:55.out. Keep them guessing there. All you're doing all day and night
:30:56. > :30:59.after you play, is you try to rejovr to calm yourself down, before
:31:00. > :31:05.jacking yourself up again to be primed for this two or three hour
:31:06. > :31:13.match you have to play. He has had to do it, Monday, Tuesday, and now
:31:14. > :31:17.Wednesday. Mentally it is as fatiguing as physically. Perhaps
:31:18. > :31:24.more so. You're on a rollercoaster and this is the best ehe has done at
:31:25. > :31:41.Wimbledon. So there is joy inside, but there is a feeling of fatigue.
:31:42. > :31:53.Yes, the drinker, in the last two years, -- the Stan Wawrinka, in the
:31:54. > :32:02.last two years, has lost in the first round here, to Jurgen Melzer
:32:03. > :32:41.and Lleyton Hewitt. Federer plays at a much quicker pace than Wawrinka.
:32:42. > :32:50.Federer winning the battle of the backhand is, that doesn't happen
:32:51. > :32:52.often. He did well there, almost slipped and fell. The court is very
:32:53. > :33:22.green. UMPIRE: Game, Federer.
:33:23. > :33:26.In the first set, Wawrinka wasn't all over Federer, that he was
:33:27. > :33:30.largely in charge. And that feeling is almost gone. It is gone that he
:33:31. > :33:35.is in charge, but he is still hitting the ball with some serious
:33:36. > :33:40.authority. He is slowly but surely getting that first serve percentage
:33:41. > :33:44.up, so he is starting to win more points on his serve, starting to
:33:45. > :33:57.whether this sickness, this pain in his stomach.
:33:58. > :34:40.Some terrific play now from both guys. To me, that is an example of
:34:41. > :34:44.him going for a little bit more than he would have wanted because perhaps
:34:45. > :34:47.he is not all the way back feeling physically a little bit and it,
:34:48. > :34:52.because that was a very difficult shot to pull off, given as well as
:34:53. > :35:01.he hits his backhands. The crowd are sensing that Federer
:35:02. > :35:42.might be onto something here. This is a poor game. A little weak.
:35:43. > :35:47.A little weary right now. It is starting to get into his head as
:35:48. > :35:52.well as his body. So, here is a chance for federative break. --
:35:53. > :36:17.Federer to break. If executed properly, it would be
:36:18. > :36:19.his point, he knew that, and that is exactly what he did. Still down
:36:20. > :36:45.break point, though. One of the most dependable shots in
:36:46. > :37:53.our sport. That is surprising. It is a question
:37:54. > :38:05.of time the Wawrinka while the pills do their work.
:38:06. > :38:10.If they are going to do any good, probably 20 minutes, half in our? I
:38:11. > :39:03.would think. UMPIRE: Game, Wawrinka.
:39:04. > :39:16.An important game, that. UMPIRE: New balls, please.
:39:17. > :39:29.If he had gone down again there, the pendulum would have swung away from
:39:30. > :39:35.him, but he has stopped it. I assume they have had conversations, Magnus
:39:36. > :39:41.Norman, Stan Wawrinka, about situations, believing what you can
:39:42. > :39:46.execute, and he has come a much better all-round competitor on a
:39:47. > :39:52.regular basis, Wawrinka. He has been able to take advantage of the skills
:39:53. > :39:58.we have seen in the last ten years, and finally figure out a way, for a
:39:59. > :40:05.combination of coaching and psychology and perseverance, to
:40:06. > :40:12.become a Grand Slam champion. And that is quite admirable. And this is
:40:13. > :40:18.why he is a much better competitor now than he was for five years ago,
:40:19. > :40:23.when in this type of match, you would have seen him giving a lot
:40:24. > :40:29.sooner, I'm sure. He is hanging tough right now.
:40:30. > :40:36.UMPIRE: Take your seats, and why wouldn't he? He has learned from
:40:37. > :40:38.these tough experiences. Something in him before was holding him back,
:40:39. > :41:15.and that has been unlocked. Again, rifled at Federer, not for
:41:16. > :41:17.the first time. That is the right thing to Wawrinka to do, to try to
:41:18. > :41:53.get him to back off from the net. Disappointed with the return. He was
:41:54. > :42:14.onto the serve. He looked to have the continental grip, still.
:42:15. > :42:21.It is certainly arguable that Roger Federer, the last three or four
:42:22. > :42:30.years, serving better than ever. It is amazing how many quick service
:42:31. > :42:35.games he has. He has a big frame, 98 square inches as opposed to the 90
:42:36. > :42:43.he had. It gives him a little extra margin. It has taken him a while to
:42:44. > :42:48.get really used to it, but he is fine with it now. He tried with it
:42:49. > :42:52.last year after losing early here, went to it for a couple of events,
:42:53. > :42:59.went back to his old frame for the remainder of the year.
:43:00. > :43:13.And in the off-season, he decided to really go for it.
:43:14. > :43:34.He has been playing well the whole year.
:43:35. > :43:41.UMPIRE: Game, Wawrinka. Another quick service game, this
:43:42. > :43:53.time to Wawrinka. Probably fortunate for Stan that
:43:54. > :44:00.after that break, he was the one serving first. He is still ahead in
:44:01. > :44:04.this match. He was so close to taking such a big lead that he has
:44:05. > :44:17.had to regroup mentally, buckle down, knowing that this is going to
:44:18. > :44:26.be at least four, if not five set. When he lost in the first round to
:44:27. > :44:33.Garcia-Lopez at Queen's, people thought that he wouldn't go on, but
:44:34. > :44:37.he has been proved wrong. He is not a counterpunch other way he was
:44:38. > :44:46.earlier in his career. He is taking it to people. He did win Monte
:44:47. > :44:52.Carlo, he beat Roger Federer. It was shocking that Garcia-Lopez beat him.
:44:53. > :44:57.He did appear to be overwhelmed. But credit to him three group Inc adds
:44:58. > :45:02.to have his best ever result at Wimbledon tells you something about
:45:03. > :45:09.his character. He has got a chance. If he wins this, somehow, he would
:45:10. > :45:11.win two of the first three majors. He could be the number one player in
:45:12. > :45:50.the world. It is possible. They both made the right choices.
:45:51. > :46:12.Federer kept waiting for that call to come.
:46:13. > :46:23.And outrageous return. That is what you keep waiting for him to do more
:46:24. > :46:36.of. He is great off the ground, especially the second serve.
:46:37. > :47:16.Probably mad he didn't hit that, because he blocked it eat. -- deep.
:47:17. > :47:23.That is an example of why I wonder why he runs around his backhand. It
:47:24. > :47:46.just doesn't seem necessary. Can't believe he missed it.
:47:47. > :47:55.UMPIRE: Game, Federer. He is having a look, Wawrinka. Is he
:47:56. > :48:01.going to challenge? Doesn't look like it. He definitely thought about
:48:02. > :48:08.it. He didn't miss by much. Good effort by Federer, because Wawrinka
:48:09. > :48:55.had some shots there to get the break.
:48:56. > :49:05.That is another backhand he missed long. Got to be careful now. They
:49:06. > :49:11.are locked together with total points one, but the match could be
:49:12. > :50:15.changing right here. -- total points won.
:50:16. > :50:28.He made it, and it is an important make, may be very important. If you
:50:29. > :50:30.can hit it that hard, you have to get a little wider, away from
:50:31. > :50:52.Federer. UMPIRE: Game, Federer.
:50:53. > :51:04.Fedor is on the charge. -- Federer. UMPIRE: Federer leads four games to
:51:05. > :51:08.three, third set, one set all. Wawrinka disgusted, tossing his
:51:09. > :51:15.racket. How could you let this get away and then lose your serve the
:51:16. > :51:21.next game? And Federer, ever alert to any opportunity.
:51:22. > :51:27.And after an hour and three quarters, he breaks for the first
:51:28. > :51:32.time. It has been a long time coming, but finally it is Federer
:51:33. > :51:40.with the lead, the momentum. Wawrinka battling himself, he has
:51:41. > :51:45.apparently been under the weather. Part of it has got to be with having
:51:46. > :51:53.to play three days in a row, best-of-5. If you have been in
:51:54. > :51:57.charge of someone like Fedor, and now it is gone, is it almost
:51:58. > :52:04.inevitable that you start blaming yourself? -- someone like Federer.
:52:05. > :52:10.You have to overcome the other side of your brain, reason with it, not
:52:11. > :52:11.allow it to take over. And it is hard to do when you are playing
:52:12. > :53:23.someone this good. That is the first time that his
:53:24. > :53:34.backhand has gone away, he has gotten careless. Given Fedor some
:53:35. > :53:43.easy points, much-needed -- Federer. It is all those hours of
:53:44. > :53:50.training in Dubai in the heat paying off.
:53:51. > :53:53.I think the crowd, naturally a little battered and bruised after
:53:54. > :54:00.Murray's demise, are appreciating what they are seeing, the great man
:54:01. > :54:16.in his pond. One game away from taking this third set.
:54:17. > :54:40.That went in, does it count? Of the chair. Worth a try.
:54:41. > :54:51.He looks worse than he did at the end of the second set. Really down,
:54:52. > :55:06.battling himself big-time. That first serve he hit was only 109.
:55:07. > :55:29.How does he do that? For Stan, loses his racket. You don't often see
:55:30. > :55:45.anything in elegant from Federer. He even falls elegantly.
:55:46. > :56:12.Deal ever see Federer when he looks like he is hurting? It is
:56:13. > :56:23.unbelievable. The guy has played 60 straight majors without missing one.
:56:24. > :56:30.You never hear of an injury. He talked about the back, but look at
:56:31. > :56:32.this guy, how he has held up. There have got to be coaches all around
:56:33. > :56:41.the world, especially the top players' coaches, trying to work
:56:42. > :56:45.out, how does this guy do it? They are pretty closed, the Federer team,
:56:46. > :56:53.about exactly what physical work he does. Nothing is said. It doesn't
:56:54. > :57:01.look like he pounds the weights, or the track. But whatever he is doing,
:57:02. > :57:05.it is working. He doesn't have the six-pack that players dream of. But
:57:06. > :57:19.he is moving out there absolutely beautifully. The other guys start
:57:20. > :57:28.falling apart. Federer serving to go set up.
:57:29. > :58:28.He had to move well for that, did Wawrinka. A lethal weapon.
:58:29. > :58:42.Stan not thinking is clearly, and a lot of that is due to his opponent.
:58:43. > :58:48.13 and two over his opponent. UMPIRE: Challenging the call, the
:58:49. > :59:24.ball was called in. UMPIRE: Game and third set,
:59:25. > :59:31.Federer. 6-4. Federer leads two sets to one.
:59:32. > :59:40.This is what the crowd wanted to see, Federer pushed, but the great
:59:41. > :59:46.man in the end winning. Wawrinka have another word with the umpire.
:59:47. > :59:50.Does he want more medication? I'm not sure if he needs any more
:59:51. > :00:00.medication. He is so elegant. Why would he need now -- leave now? He
:00:01. > :00:04.chooses to go off the court. Stan says, I am going to take advantage
:00:05. > :00:16.of this opportunity. He is going off. You don't often see Roger going
:00:17. > :00:25.off. He is human. There are times when you wonder. That has been true
:00:26. > :00:36.on this court here. Trying to break the great Pete Sampras's record, and
:00:37. > :00:40.he is getting closer and closer. He is bidding to become the second man
:00:41. > :01:00.in history to win this title eight times.
:01:01. > :01:09.This has become so professional, they have trainers, cooks, coaches,
:01:10. > :01:20.psychologists, family members, wives, nannies, kids. Let's talk
:01:21. > :01:28.about kids. He has four of them. When was the last time a guy who won
:01:29. > :01:35.Wimbledon had four kids? I think we might be going back to Renshaw's
:01:36. > :01:41.time! Are pretty flawless looking set for Federer.
:01:42. > :01:49.At the end of your career, you had kids who travelled with you. Three
:01:50. > :01:54.of them I had the last year and a half I played, and trying to be a
:01:55. > :02:00.good father, husband, and then all the time it takes to train and try
:02:01. > :02:06.to be staving off that inevitable decline. But I didn't do nearly as
:02:07. > :02:17.good a job as this guy does, that is the shore. -- for sure. Some of the
:02:18. > :02:29.things that he is doing, whether it is getting a trainer or a coach, I
:02:30. > :02:34.had a masseuse one of the last years that I played, but it didn't make me
:02:35. > :02:39.play like him? It is about this guy right here, what he is capable of
:02:40. > :02:48.doing, and that is quite a bit, because he has had a lot more losses
:02:49. > :02:59.recently that he is used to. He won his last Grand Slam here two years
:03:00. > :03:07.ago. We showed a replay on ESPN. There is the great Rod Laver again.
:03:08. > :03:16.He lost to Tommy Robredo, and the guy was smiling. How can you play
:03:17. > :03:19.one of the worst matches you have ever played, and he looks as if, you
:03:20. > :03:22.wouldn't know who had won the match. We are so lucky to see a guy
:03:23. > :03:28.who absolutely loves to play this much. Even when he doesn't win. I
:03:29. > :03:41.keep wondering what will happen when he loses more often.
:03:42. > :03:50.was being picked often by player. Robredo being one. Federer fans at
:03:51. > :03:55.that stage thought why are you doing this to us? Why don't you bow out
:03:56. > :03:59.gracefully. But he knew better. Well, listen, with what he has
:04:00. > :04:05.accomplished, we all want him to be around as long as possible. We want
:04:06. > :04:12.him to do it on his terms. You would let, I think Lleyton Hewitt will at
:04:13. > :04:18.some stage be in the Hall of fame, he has won a couple of Grand Slams.
:04:19. > :04:24.It is difficult for him. He is 40 or so. But he deserves our respect. If
:04:25. > :04:31.he wants to s to play and go out there and it doesn't happen the way
:04:32. > :04:34.it did in the past, God bless him. That is his decision. How revived is
:04:35. > :05:05.Wawrinka? Two sets to one down. For all the Mr Nice guy, which
:05:06. > :05:08.Federer no doubt is, he will want to pounce on Wawrinka now to make him
:05:09. > :06:23.feel even worse. stabilising game. He needed that big
:06:24. > :06:30.time. We are going to see how many points he has lost on his serve. It
:06:31. > :06:37.doesn't seem like he has lost a whole lot. Both players have been
:06:38. > :06:43.strong at net. The majority of their points. He just seems to get it done
:06:44. > :06:51.so quickly that even when you're holding reasonably easily,, you feel
:06:52. > :06:55.pressure. That might be part of why Stan is feeling sick in the stomach.
:06:56. > :07:17.You can't relax at all. The other thing that must be bad,
:07:18. > :07:19.you know Federer's talent, but there is a joy in watching him move and it
:07:20. > :07:38.can't be a joy for Wawrinka now. From the beginning he was moving as
:07:39. > :07:42.well or better than Roger. And the better part of the first two sets he
:07:43. > :08:15.outplayed him. It seems like Stan f he gets down
:08:16. > :08:41.30-0, 40-0, trying to conserve his energy. Not making a whole lot of
:08:42. > :09:09.effort there. A change of racket. New balls for Wawrinka.
:09:10. > :09:35.Not a lot of spring in the legs now. The serve's lost some serious
:09:36. > :09:42.velocity. He is on the brink now. He is on the plank. You can see he is
:09:43. > :09:44.just about gone if Federer can get this other break. Just hanging on.
:09:45. > :09:57.Please don't push me overboard! I can feel the plank wobbling! Maybe
:09:58. > :10:39.he can too. He got it all wrong and here are two
:10:40. > :11:11.break points for Federer. SUE BARKER: It is advantage Federer
:11:12. > :11:19.in this fourth set. We have to leave this match on BBC1. It continues now
:11:20. > :11:24.on 2. We will be there through to 9 o'clock. The other quarter final
:11:25. > :11:29.will be on the red button. Before we leave though. Novak Djokovic is
:11:30. > :11:35.through to the semi final. He defeated Marin Cilic on court number
:11:36. > :11:40.one in five sets, coming from 2-1 down. What a great competitor he is.
:11:41. > :11:49.He needed to dig deep and he did. Djokovic is through to the last
:11:50. > :11:54.four. That was on court one, but after such an encouraging first week
:11:55. > :12:00.from Andy Murray, it ended today. He was outplayed by Grigor Dimitrov on
:12:01. > :12:06.sinister court. -- Centre Cour. A player with immense talent. Dimitrov
:12:07. > :12:11.is through to his first Grand Slam semi final. But for Andy Murray, his
:12:12. > :12:17.title defence is over. The response from the crowd again for the
:12:18. > :12:24.defending Wimbledon champion. It is time for the action to start and
:12:25. > :12:36.Dimitrov to begin. He has come here with a lot of belief. Wow! Andy a
:12:37. > :12:42.little flat? TIM HENMAN: I think he is. He has nothing to get his teeth
:12:43. > :12:54.into. And things slipping away for Andy Murray in this opening set.
:12:55. > :12:59.Picture perfect opening set from Grigor Dimitrov. He takes it 6-1.
:13:00. > :13:12.Murray can't let his hang head now. He has got to lift his head up.
:13:13. > :13:25.Stunning. And it stunned Murray as well. The tennis cathedral falls
:13:26. > :13:41.silent. Beautiful! That was not as easy as he ended up making it look.
