:00:11. > :00:18.Hello and welcome for the first time from Wimbledon. We are very happy to

:00:19. > :00:25.be with you and we hope you enjoy our coverage here on Centre Court.

:00:26. > :00:29.Britain's number one Jo Konta is in battle with Eugenie Bouchard, a

:00:30. > :00:35.former finalist here. When we had to leave on BBC Two, she was two points

:00:36. > :00:41.away from taking the second set. Here she is with set point. That was

:00:42. > :00:48.good enough to seal the set. It is now one set all so it is match on an

:00:49. > :00:52.Centre Court between Jo Konta and Eugenie Bouchard. Sorry we had to

:00:53. > :00:56.move over from BBC Two at that crucial stage of the set, but at

:00:57. > :01:02.least we showed you how it was concluded. We can go there now with

:01:03. > :01:03.no interruptions and join our commentators. Tracy Austin is

:01:04. > :01:50.alongside Sam Smith. SAM SMITH: well, if you have just

:01:51. > :01:56.come in from work, this is better than a box set, much better. Live

:01:57. > :02:02.sport at its very best. And if you are just joining this match, it was

:02:03. > :02:05.Konta actually be made the start, breaking Bouchard in her opening

:02:06. > :02:10.service game, but the Canadian number one came roaring back to take

:02:11. > :02:16.that opening set in just over half an hour. But Bouchard showed great

:02:17. > :02:28.steel, much to the delight of her Spanish coach on the right. She

:02:29. > :02:32.fended off so mini-break points -- so many break points. Here we are at

:02:33. > :02:39.a set all. Tracy, I'm not sure I have seen a better women's match at

:02:40. > :02:45.Wimbledon so far? TRACY AUSTIN: This is a Barry high-quality match. A

:02:46. > :02:55.much anticipated match. The former champion and Jones looking on. I

:02:56. > :03:01.also think the back story of this match is so interesting -- Ann

:03:02. > :03:05.Jones. Eugenie Bouchard got to number five in the world but then

:03:06. > :03:10.had a huge dip because of the expectation. She was only 20. So

:03:11. > :03:15.many eyes on her, and she struggled to deal with the pressure. She was

:03:16. > :03:19.very open about that. She said she was eating less because she was so

:03:20. > :03:25.nervous before matches. She is looking much stronger this year,

:03:26. > :03:30.back with her coach as well. For Johanna Konta, outside the top 100

:03:31. > :03:34.this time last year. She played Maria Sharapova in a pretty decisive

:03:35. > :03:41.victory for Sharapova on Centre Court. Now Konta comes out on the

:03:42. > :03:47.second time on this magical, historic court with all expectations

:03:48. > :03:54.that she is supposed to win. She has handled that situation beautifully.

:03:55. > :04:00.A year is a long time in tennis and in sport. At 25, Konta is really

:04:01. > :04:06.making that breakthrough at a later stage than you see most of the time

:04:07. > :04:13.on the women's tour. It is that mental process, the mental coach she

:04:14. > :04:16.has been able to work with, she says it is a process she has to go

:04:17. > :04:19.through and think point by point, very clear and calm. She has

:04:20. > :04:27.tremendous poise and very well spoken. We have had two excellent

:04:28. > :04:32.sets of tennis on a day when the rain, I am pleased to say, has

:04:33. > :04:37.stayed away. It looks really good for the rest of the week. It makes

:04:38. > :04:43.us all very happy because it means we get the day off on Sunday.

:04:44. > :04:52.So, it was Bouchard who had the first set, Konta dominated the

:04:53. > :05:15.second. Here is Bouchard at the start of this deciding set.

:05:16. > :06:17.These two had never played before will stop.

:06:18. > :08:08.12 months ago they were living in completely different worlds.

:08:09. > :08:28.The first 44 Genie. Just decelerated there. -- the first double faults.

:08:29. > :09:45.Nicely constructed point. Good footwork from Bouchard.

:09:46. > :10:14.A slight missed opportunity there. A second serve.

:10:15. > :10:51.Beautiful the way Bouchard attacked that forehand. Didn't make the same

:10:52. > :11:32.mistake there. Moved inside the baseline.

:11:33. > :11:40.Not able to get that early break. Bouchard toughing out that service

:11:41. > :11:45.game. SUE BARKER: Very quickly change over

:11:46. > :11:56.an centre, but we will briefly show you what has been happening on Court

:11:57. > :12:03.Number Two. This is an -- Ana Konjuh. She stepped on a ball and

:12:04. > :12:07.fell over. She has the trainer on. She had three match points against

:12:08. > :12:12.Agnieszka Radwanska. We will keep you up-to-date with her progress and

:12:13. > :13:22.whether she can continue. It is not looking good. Back we go to centre.

:13:23. > :14:10.This time in the evening there will be a little moisture.

:14:11. > :14:39.She had one double fault until this game and now two already.

:14:40. > :14:48.That is a magnificent forehand. Stayed down through it. What an

:14:49. > :15:39.angle. The forehand is improved and particularly the sharp angles.

:15:40. > :15:56.Bouchard was withstanding some punishing blows there. Great defence

:15:57. > :16:05.to hang in the point. I think that ball was going to go

:16:06. > :17:28.long. Konta missed out. Two missed returns. Konta has got to

:17:29. > :19:21.get this one in play. This is the resilience from her that

:19:22. > :19:24.we did not see last year. She looked miserable on the tennis court, as if

:19:25. > :19:36.she wanted to be anywhere but hitting a tennis ball.

:19:37. > :19:54.UMPIRE: Correction, the ball is good.

:19:55. > :20:01.Miss Bouchard is challenging the call on the left service line. The

:20:02. > :20:14.ball was called out. That is confidence for you.

:20:15. > :20:20.Now she is flying here now, the Canadian number one. She sprints

:20:21. > :21:24.into a 3-0 lead. There is her younger brother

:21:25. > :21:29.William. Mum, Julie. Eugenie also has another sister Charlotte and a

:21:30. > :21:37.twin sister Beatrice. They look very similar but have -- apparently they

:21:38. > :21:43.have completely different personalities. Her mum has a slight

:21:44. > :21:49.obsession with the Royal family when it comes to naming her children.

:21:50. > :21:54.Genie calls her mum a closet royalist. I did not know such a

:21:55. > :22:30.thing existed! I think she is out of the closet now!

:22:31. > :22:37.Nick Saviano looks like he will job over that wall. He is so excited

:22:38. > :23:09.with the level Bouchard is playing at today.

:23:10. > :23:21.I haven't seen Genie play this confidently in a while. Second

:23:22. > :24:46.serve, 98 mph, and she saw it early and attacking.

:24:47. > :25:08.To the left of Nick Saviano is the Fed Cup captain for Canada. Both men

:25:09. > :25:45.looking very happy with Genie right now.

:25:46. > :25:52.Konta starting, excuse me, Bouchard starting to read that second serve

:25:53. > :26:42.of Konta. That is a rather deflated Centre

:26:43. > :26:49.Court crowd now, apart from that little area, as Bouchard leads a

:26:50. > :26:55.double break. Henley hits the ground there. What has been happening over

:26:56. > :27:03.the last ten or 15 minutes for you, Tracy? Bouchard has raised the level

:27:04. > :27:10.of her game. Maybe the lack of experience on the big stage for

:27:11. > :27:13.Konta is showing up just marginally. It does not take much in a

:27:14. > :27:34.high-quality match like this to turn it.

:27:35. > :27:44.I don't think I have seen as many Centre Court matches with so many

:27:45. > :27:48.overrules from the chair and the umpire has got this one right. Gold

:27:49. > :28:39.stars for the woman from Norway. Jo was saying that the lines person

:28:40. > :29:13.called it long and that was the first indication of any call coming.

:29:14. > :29:22.She has got to put it behind her. There is a fair chance that Konta

:29:23. > :30:07.had a point there in terms of the out call interfering with her shot.

:30:08. > :30:11.This is the level of tennis for Bouchard back to 2014. She is

:30:12. > :30:36.hitting with so much power. It is outstanding from Bouchard! She

:30:37. > :30:57.was reading the ball so well. Well, she is only 22 years of age,

:30:58. > :30:59.she is still I can accept, but this might be a better version than the

:31:00. > :31:36.one we saw two years ago. She is still a teenager. Very few

:31:37. > :31:58.blemishes on her report card this evening.

:31:59. > :32:09.And Bouchard really has stunned the Centre court. A brilliant display in

:32:10. > :32:15.this final set. It almost feels like she has come full circle from the

:32:16. > :32:20.heights of a couple of years ago. This is a young woman who had a

:32:21. > :32:25.dream. She saw Maria Sharapova with the title here when she was just

:32:26. > :32:30.nine years of age. I have got the feeling she is a very determined

:32:31. > :32:34.young woman like her rival and she decided, I want to be on the big

:32:35. > :32:40.stage, I want to be on the Centre Court. At 20 years of age she made

:32:41. > :32:44.her first grand slam final right here at Wimbledon. That takes some

:32:45. > :32:51.dedication, discipline and real talent. She talked about that and

:32:52. > :32:56.how she felt all the pressure and expectations if you win the match.

:32:57. > :33:02.If you lose a match it was a disaster and it was difficult for

:33:03. > :33:06.her. Now she says she feels like it is 2013 again when she is playing

:33:07. > :33:13.these matches and is not expected to win. I wonder if she gets into the

:33:14. > :33:18.top ten, and most people that she will, she will handle it far better.

:33:19. > :33:25.And hopefully with this man always by her side. A great coach. She

:33:26. > :33:30.started working with him when she was 12, a long relationship. Johanna

:33:31. > :34:44.Konta serving to stay in the match now.

:34:45. > :34:53.You have got to give Bouchard credit, losing that second set 6-1

:34:54. > :35:11.and coming out in this third set and elevating her game even more.

:35:12. > :35:22.Also having to deal with a pro-Johanna Konta crowd. They have

:35:23. > :35:25.been very respectful. I am sure Genie understands it is not against

:35:26. > :35:42.her, just wanting Johanna Konta to play well.

:35:43. > :35:56.That is the way and height of the net, a volley. -- that is the way to

:35:57. > :36:07.finish the point off at the net. Johanna Konta says, OK, Genie, you

:36:08. > :36:35.serve it out. Sometimes those mis-hit are the very

:36:36. > :37:40.best shots. They make it awkward. Not let the disappointments seep

:37:41. > :38:39.into her game, stay focused. Well, unfortunately for Konta, just

:38:40. > :39:12.too much for her this evening. UMPIRE: Miss Konta is challenging

:39:13. > :39:23.the ball on the baseline. The ball was called out. It is long. It is

:39:24. > :39:28.the brilliant Eugenie Bouchard who goes through to the third round,

:39:29. > :39:36.putting out the British number one. There is no doubt that Genie is

:39:37. > :39:41.back. She played extremely well, served a big high percentage of

:39:42. > :39:47.first serves in, three out of four. She dictated play from the baseline.

:39:48. > :39:57.She looked very confident and poised. Hit the ball early, solid

:39:58. > :40:04.and clean. Konta will be very disappointed. But it is also new to

:40:05. > :40:13.her, just her second time on this centre court. God into the top 20 in

:40:14. > :40:23.June of this year. It was a good fight back in the second set for

:40:24. > :40:27.Konta. But she did not have enough. That is so good for Genie who has

:40:28. > :40:32.been through such a torrid time at such a young age after hitting the

:40:33. > :40:40.heights here two years ago. Konta will be back. I am sure. There is

:40:41. > :40:46.lots to come for her, the Olympics in August and plenty of other court

:40:47. > :40:54.events. But for Genie the next draw is not easy, Dominika Cibulkova. A

:40:55. > :41:00.champion in Eastbourne last week. Played a wonderful match against

:41:01. > :41:14.Daria Gavrilova on Court number 18 a few moments ago. It is good to see

:41:15. > :41:19.her smile, isn't it? Yes, it is. Sometimes you have to have the lows

:41:20. > :41:32.for these types of highs to be even sweeter the second time around.

:41:33. > :41:37.Engaging character. She has a big fan base. She used to have the Genie

:41:38. > :41:44.army behind her. I wonder where they have gone actually. They will be

:41:45. > :41:51.back. I am sure they will. Here she is.

:41:52. > :41:56.Very well done, and match of fluctuating fortunes. First set and,

:41:57. > :42:01.second set not so good, how tough was it to regain your composure head

:42:02. > :42:07.of the third set? It was very important. She hits a big bore and

:42:08. > :42:12.plays good tennis and she was dominating so I told myself I had to

:42:13. > :42:18.be bold and I did that. You were on the Centre Court by chance today,

:42:19. > :42:22.how much do you enjoy this arena? I love it, there is nothing like

:42:23. > :42:28.walking out on Centre Court at Wimbledon and I played good tennis,

:42:29. > :42:33.so I am happy today. You have such trials and tribulations since the

:42:34. > :42:39.final in 2014, how much stronger RU now as a player and a person? I have

:42:40. > :42:44.definitely learnt a lot. There are ups and downs in ten is just like in

:42:45. > :42:49.life and I feel better on the court and stronger mentally and

:42:50. > :42:54.physically. A question about Dominika Cibulkova, you have had a

:42:55. > :42:59.good record against terror. Yes, but every match is a battle and I will

:43:00. > :43:06.give everything I can. It is Wimbledon, it is the only thing you

:43:07. > :43:10.can do. SUE BARKER: It has been a roller-coaster over the last couple

:43:11. > :43:14.of years since she made the final surprisingly two years ago. She

:43:15. > :43:20.dipped down the rankings, but she is showing now she is back in form and

:43:21. > :43:27.heading back to the top of the game again. Johanna Konta had her chances

:43:28. > :43:32.with three breaks and had chances in the third. Some wonderful tennis

:43:33. > :43:36.from both players, really hard-hitting battle on Centre Court,

:43:37. > :43:41.but it is Eugenie Bouchard who goes through to the next round. Let's

:43:42. > :43:46.show you what was happening on Court number two. This was this horrible

:43:47. > :43:50.injury that young -year-old Ana Konjuh of Croatia got. You can see

:43:51. > :43:57.her ankle really does severely turn over. She is in obvious pain. She

:43:58. > :44:03.cannot even put any weight on it. Not down and out although she had

:44:04. > :44:06.tears at the change of ends. The trainer is on and she strapped up

:44:07. > :44:15.the ankle, but you could see she could not walk. She lost on her

:44:16. > :44:20.serve and she is hobbling around the court and doing her best to stay in

:44:21. > :44:25.the points, but it was only a matter of time before the number three seed

:44:26. > :44:30.won the match. It was such a shame because it was a wonderful match.

:44:31. > :44:35.The youngster from Croatia had some match points. She will be

:44:36. > :44:39.disappointed about missed opportunities. A brave effort out

:44:40. > :44:44.there and we will hear a lot more of this young lady over the years. Once

:44:45. > :44:49.the tears have dried up she will realise what a wonderful match she

:44:50. > :44:53.played against Agnieszka Radwanska. The number three seed survives, but

:44:54. > :45:01.only just. And will another seed survives? This is the eighth seed,

:45:02. > :45:10.Dominic Thiem, and he is two sets down. In that it is five games.

:45:11. > :45:35.Let's join our commentators John Lloyd and John infidel.

:45:36. > :46:12.That was a big, bold, positive forehand from the Czech player.

:46:13. > :46:22.Well, he went for it and the net cord beat him. One thing we can say

:46:23. > :46:27.about this match is they have both gone for big points, there has been

:46:28. > :46:29.no fear. They have made some spectacular points down the line.

:46:30. > :46:53.But that was a big point to miss. And a fist pump from the Czech

:46:54. > :47:07.player because he is one game away from victory.

:47:08. > :47:16.No second chance for Thiem. Jiri Vesely has just been so composed in

:47:17. > :47:21.this game. He thought there would be some dips mentally. But he really

:47:22. > :47:27.has not dropped his level. His serve has been phenomenal, absolutely

:47:28. > :47:32.fantastic. Thiem has not found a way to get into the service games. He

:47:33. > :47:37.has stood up very close to the baseline and he has not recruited.

:47:38. > :47:41.They have been similar points, but he barely gets his racket on the

:47:42. > :47:46.ball and he cannot do enough to get into these rallies. It has been a

:47:47. > :47:52.top-class performance from Jiri Vesely so far. The match has been

:47:53. > :47:57.very similar from the start until now, if we are approaching the

:47:58. > :48:03.finish. Right at the outset we sensed it was a match that had a lot

:48:04. > :48:10.of tie-breaks in it and we have had two already an Jiri Vesely has won

:48:11. > :48:11.them both. If Thiem holds his serve here, we are heading for a third

:48:12. > :49:15.one. What an easy game. Thank heavens for

:49:16. > :49:29.the tie-breaks or we would the industry at that! OK, Mr Lloyd, who

:49:30. > :49:36.wins this tie-break? I am going for Thiem, that he lost the first one.

:49:37. > :49:40.The hardy few who have stayed behind for this are now getting really

:49:41. > :49:59.involved with Jiri Vesely to begin this third tie-break.

:50:00. > :50:09.To me in the scheme of things it is a good second serve, that Thiem had

:50:10. > :50:15.that on his racket to get the ball into play and when you get a chance

:50:16. > :50:40.on the second serve you have got to do something with the return.

:50:41. > :50:52.Oh, that approach shot drifting long. The first mini break. Time for

:50:53. > :51:16.a cool head from the Czech player. That is brilliant! And the first

:51:17. > :51:22.shot was brilliant from Jiri Vesely. That is the point of the match. It

:51:23. > :51:32.is at such a key moment in the match as well. That might have been a

:51:33. > :51:34.match crosscourt shot. What a lunge that was there, that ball was

:51:35. > :52:13.dipping viciously. Well, the big man with the big serve

:52:14. > :52:19.knows it is his to lose. If you keep pounding in first service at 130 and

:52:20. > :52:21.second serve at 103, it will be hard for Thiem to get this next break

:52:22. > :52:56.back. That is one of the disappointing

:52:57. > :53:00.thing was about Thiem's performance. He has persisted on the first and

:53:01. > :53:07.second serves to try and take it on the rise early but by and large it

:53:08. > :53:13.has not worked. He should stand back and give himself a fraction of a

:53:14. > :53:26.second more to hit these groundstrokes.

:53:27. > :53:34.That might be a big moment. He had a chance on that one and he pulled his

:53:35. > :53:50.head up when he went to hit that background. -- backhand.

:53:51. > :54:20.I do feel that Thiem has to win this point.

:54:21. > :54:36.Oh, goodness me. Wild, wild. And Thiem now is in real trouble. Jiri

:54:37. > :54:42.Vesely from the Czech republic, number 64 in the world, and he has

:54:43. > :54:48.won the first two tie-breaks and here he is in the third with a 5-2

:54:49. > :55:05.lead and a match on the end of his racket.

:55:06. > :55:11.But Thiem is not the world number eight for nothing. Not the number

:55:12. > :55:34.eight seed at Wimbledon for nothing. He is not done yet.

:55:35. > :55:55.That was a big serve. Thiem more in hope than expectation you suspect.

:55:56. > :56:02.He is challenging. But it was out! I think he had resigned himself to

:56:03. > :56:05.being three match points down. But now he has got a chance to look at a

:56:06. > :56:23.second serve. Again taking the ball early. 122

:56:24. > :56:30.miles an hour on the second serve. Ridiculous. No fear. Well, after two

:56:31. > :56:36.and three quarters hours it is the moment of truth for Thiem, the

:56:37. > :56:53.highest ranked player potentially on the point of leaving Wimbledon 2016.

:56:54. > :56:59.What an extraordinary final point and Jiri Vesely with a huge roar

:57:00. > :57:08.knocks the number eight seed, Dominic Thiem, out of Wimbledon in

:57:09. > :57:16.three tie-break sets. 7-6, 7-6, 7-6. He is six foot six and 14 aces and

:57:17. > :57:19.heaven knows how many unreturnable serves and the big man is through

:57:20. > :57:27.into the third round. SUE BARKER: Two outstandingly

:57:28. > :57:32.talented 22-year-olds. We will hear more about them over the next few

:57:33. > :57:38.years. Another upset here. We have lost 18 seeds on this fourth day of
