:00:11. > :00:20.SUE BARKER: Welcome back to Wimbledon. As you can see, some blue

:00:21. > :00:24.sky over the city. Sad that like there is some sunshine at Wimbledon.

:00:25. > :00:27.The good news is that players are getting underway on the outside

:00:28. > :00:32.courts. Centre Court has a full schedule, under the roof if

:00:33. > :00:37.necessary. It is a lot brighter than it was a fewer hours ago. Players

:00:38. > :00:43.under way here on day five of the Championships. As I said, Centre

:00:44. > :00:48.Court is underway. A big surprise here, the number four seed, Stan

:00:49. > :00:56.Wawrinka, is 2-1 down in sets. Juan Martin del Potro, who came back

:00:57. > :01:05.after surgery, has taken the next two sets. That is live on BBC One.

:01:06. > :01:10.Other matches taking place today, on Court Number Two, they have been on

:01:11. > :01:19.and off a few times. It is Nick Kyrgios up against Dustin Brown, who

:01:20. > :01:25.is serving here at 2-2, 30-30. If you wanted, you can watch this on

:01:26. > :01:32.the red button. Plenty of other matches taking place. There are up

:01:33. > :01:35.to 15 courts available online. This is one of them, Tomas Berdych, the

:01:36. > :01:42.former runner-up, up against Benjamin Becker. The early stages of

:01:43. > :01:46.that five set match. A lot happening, and we will keep you

:01:47. > :01:51.up-to-date with progress throughout the day, but we are heading to Court

:01:52. > :01:58.Number One to see Venus Williams serving at 5-5. When she went off,

:01:59. > :02:02.it was 5-1, home lead, but she has been broken twice by Daria Kasatkina

:02:03. > :02:07.of Russia. Trouble for the 5- time champion. Let's join our

:02:08. > :02:28.commentators, Lindsay and Chris. Back on track, Venus Williams. That

:02:29. > :02:34.was a very important hold. Part one of this match, Venus Williams,

:02:35. > :02:42.Lindsay, Venus bite-mac hitting the ball great, part three has been --

:02:43. > :02:50.Venus hitting the ball -- Venus hitting the ball great. The errors

:02:51. > :02:58.started flying at the start of part three. The work toss issues, double

:02:59. > :03:02.faults, and she got off track. That last game was really important is to

:03:03. > :03:07.re-establish our game. This young woman, Kasatkina, has a lot more

:03:08. > :03:12.confidence in her game and in her belief on this surface. When you

:03:13. > :03:17.watch Kasatkina, she has so much time on the ball, reads the game

:03:18. > :03:21.well, steers the shots. In the beginning, she seemed overwhelmed

:03:22. > :03:25.with the pace of beans, but as the games have gone on, she is timing

:03:26. > :03:29.her ball better, she has moved back her court position to give herself

:03:30. > :03:34.more time, and now she is being consistent, making a lot of balls

:03:35. > :03:38.and really challenging Bean is. Let's see if she can keep coming up

:03:39. > :03:48.with winners. If not, every ball is coming back.

:03:49. > :04:19.Those were the errors that Kasatkina had cut out of the game. -- out of

:04:20. > :05:10.her game. Those were the long rallies that

:05:11. > :05:16.Kasatkina could not get going at the start of this match. It has -- she

:05:17. > :05:23.has given herself more time, lengthened her shot to bits that

:05:24. > :05:30.Venus cannot stand the baseline. -- lengthen her shots a bit so that

:05:31. > :05:39.Venus cannot stand the base -- stand in the baseline area. Will there be

:05:40. > :05:40.a challenge? There will. She has always looked at Marianna Galvez

:05:41. > :06:27.first for a bit of guidance. For someone making her debut, she

:06:28. > :06:38.looks so composed. Just 19, the only teenager left in the women's trawl.

:06:39. > :06:41.-- the women's draw. Fourth Grand Slam in a row, fourth time into the

:06:42. > :07:15.second round. CROWD GROANS

:07:16. > :07:27.Venus Williams will be relieved to take that first set 7-5 in 40

:07:28. > :07:31.minutes. When I mentioned composure, she falls apart. That was not a way

:07:32. > :07:35.to give away the set after fighting so hard to get back into it. A

:07:36. > :07:46.double fault and an easy forehand thereof the first shot. -- and easy

:07:47. > :07:47.forehand there off the first shot. Kasatkina was unable to make Venus

:07:48. > :08:05.Williams play there. She has intense eyes, hasn't she?

:08:06. > :08:10.And intense focus. One of our best qualities as our competitiveness. Ms

:08:11. > :08:21.Atkin cannot give Venus that many second serves. -- Kasatkina. As soon

:08:22. > :08:25.as she makes contact with the second serve, she needs to get back quicker

:08:26. > :08:31.and play defence. Also, the approach to the net - you normally see Venus

:08:32. > :08:35.win more points than lose when she goes forward, but Kasatkina puts

:08:36. > :08:45.forward volleys in difficult positions for Venus. It is not going

:08:46. > :08:56.to rain any more. Stop looking. You're very optimistic, Chris! It

:08:57. > :09:02.does look better, the sky. It does. They met in Auckland on a hard-core.

:09:03. > :09:04.I wonder how different it feels for Kasatkina playing Venus Williams on

:09:05. > :09:35.a grass court. This is the beginning of the second set.

:09:36. > :09:42.You played Venus on hard and grass - what are the differences in her game

:09:43. > :09:45.was Mike yellow that she is more aggressive on grass, more willing to

:09:46. > :09:51.take balls early, following them to the net. She has always stood well

:09:52. > :09:57.inside the baseline to return serves, inspection the second

:09:58. > :10:00.serves. -- especially second serves. And she was doing that at the

:10:01. > :10:07.beginning of this match. But these last few games, this is not the way

:10:08. > :10:17.that Venus can play and still be a contender at Wimbledon. You can see

:10:18. > :10:22.is year -- she is not being so aggressive with her mindset. That is

:10:23. > :11:21.a good serve. The toss was more in front, really went after that one.

:11:22. > :11:29.Three double faults in her service game yesterday, a couple today.

:11:30. > :11:43.Drifting again a little. Another break point.

:11:44. > :12:06.That the play there. Good serve, sets her balance, hits and does not

:12:07. > :12:10.wait to see what happens. She knows she's going to hit a good shot. --

:12:11. > :12:26.that the play there. I'll excellent forehand. Look at

:12:27. > :12:38.that, immediately starts following the path of a shot. -- excellent

:12:39. > :12:39.forehand. Look at that, immediately starts following the path of her

:12:40. > :13:21.shot. She let Venus off the hook, in every

:13:22. > :13:24.sense. She had done so well to get back in. That was a lot to do with

:13:25. > :13:31.Venus getting off to a really slow start. Her brother introduced her to

:13:32. > :13:37.the sport when she was just six. He is now her trainer. He looks

:13:38. > :13:59.excited. I think the chewing gum has lost its flavour!

:14:00. > :14:10.She has just gone away. She has had to focus, refocus so much in this

:14:11. > :14:37.match today. It is imperative right now. This could run away from her.

:14:38. > :14:49.That is too good first serves and even their cars cleaner -- even

:14:50. > :14:53.though Kasatkina is making first serves, it is about controlling

:14:54. > :15:42.those first service games. That kind of miss therefrom

:15:43. > :15:52.Kasatkina doesn't happen on other surfaces. The grass plays havoc with

:15:53. > :15:56.deep groundstrokes. Much harder to find your timing, and that is one of

:15:57. > :16:03.the reasons why Venus has been so successful on this surface. The

:16:04. > :16:24.record here is one 78 games, lost 12. -- 78 matches, lost 12.

:16:25. > :16:42.She is heading towards win number 79. A set and a break up.

:16:43. > :16:48.Virtually full again, number one Court. 11 and a half thousand seats,

:16:49. > :17:50.bathed in sunshine. That's a better return there, one of

:17:51. > :17:57.the best Kasatkina as hit. She talk about early -- she took that early

:17:58. > :18:17.and look at her inside the baseline, moving at an angle to take it early.

:18:18. > :18:23.She's certainly got the focus back on those two points, Kasatkina.

:18:24. > :18:25.She's a great competitor from what we've seen so far in her early

:18:26. > :19:37.career. Oh, that is an aggressive return

:19:38. > :19:41.again. And there is such a difference between being as pars-mac

:19:42. > :19:43.first and second serve and Kasatkina as pars-mac first and second serve

:19:44. > :19:52.and Kasatkina has adjusted to that these last few return games. --

:19:53. > :19:59.there is such a difference between Venus's first and second serve. She

:20:00. > :20:23.breaks straight back and is back on track.

:20:24. > :20:34.What do you think is left in terms of ambition for Venus? She just

:20:35. > :20:38.loves the life, she loves the sport, and maybe doesn't talk about it as

:20:39. > :20:43.much as Roger, and Roger is obviously still challenging for

:20:44. > :20:46.grand slam titles, but I truly think Venus is doing exactly what she

:20:47. > :20:53.wants to do. There's an outside chance she could make a run at a

:20:54. > :21:00.major a game. It would certainly be here because of her ability to break

:21:01. > :21:05.down those short points. It certainly seems her body has begun

:21:06. > :21:11.to break down at the other majors, where you have to be able to do 13

:21:12. > :21:16.or 14 games -- days. I'm not sure even she knows. It is the same as

:21:17. > :21:25.Roger Federer, because his best chance of winning another major

:21:26. > :21:26.would be here as well? Yes, for example at the French, it is longer

:21:27. > :22:29.points, long the matches. Interesting web-based these two

:22:30. > :22:35.players -- interesting that both these players are not playing at the

:22:36. > :22:41.same level. The level that Venus was at was so high, and now the match

:22:42. > :22:45.seems a little low. It is almost like they need to play three out of

:22:46. > :22:53.five with the interruptions they have had today, just to focus.

:22:54. > :22:59.That is just the great grass court play of Venus and that is something

:23:00. > :23:03.you don't see her do much on the hard courts, hit a return and move

:23:04. > :23:08.forward, but again, she takes her backhand return so quickly and no

:23:09. > :23:18.hesitation in trying to take that next ball as soon as possible.

:23:19. > :23:31.Second serve to look at on the first of the break points.

:23:32. > :23:40.One of her best second serves. And she needed it. Her second serve

:23:41. > :23:42.winning percentage have gone way down from where it was at stages in

:23:43. > :24:18.the first set. That is a rough error on break

:24:19. > :24:19.point. You've got to make that ball into court, make your opponent than

:24:20. > :25:19.those breaks of serve. She has gone in and out of this

:25:20. > :25:23.match with plain fence, -- plain sense, Kasatkina, and then putting

:25:24. > :25:39.herself into a winning position again with a good return.

:25:40. > :26:19.That really reared up. It was above shoulder height for Kasatkina to

:26:20. > :27:00.deal with. That is great hitting their game

:27:01. > :27:04.from the nest. -- from Venus. All of a sudden, the service motion looks

:27:05. > :27:09.to be a bit more in rhythm, with balls in the positions she wants

:27:10. > :27:19.them to be in. It was her fastest serve of the tournament.

:27:20. > :27:27.That is, to me, the biggest difference to me in Venus from eight

:27:28. > :27:33.years ago or ten years ago or however far you want to go back.

:27:34. > :27:39.When a player has the ability to pull side to side, she doesn't quite

:27:40. > :27:57.get around the court to cover things as quickly as she used to.

:27:58. > :28:02.Well, we've already had three breaks of serve in a row. The chance of

:28:03. > :28:24.four. Brilliant! That is the first drop

:28:25. > :28:50.shot. She's just sort of battling, isn't

:28:51. > :28:54.she, to deal with this slight disconnection? She's got a bit of a

:28:55. > :28:58.wiring problem but when she's good, she's really good. It's about

:28:59. > :29:04.maintaining it. That's going to be something she needs to work on in

:29:05. > :29:09.the next few years, the next few months. That could have been a huge

:29:10. > :29:13.game in this match. Venus had a game point and ended up being broken.

:29:14. > :29:19.Let's see what that Keane can do with that sort of momentum. -- what

:29:20. > :29:27.Kasatkina can do with that sort of momentum. She looks like a young

:29:28. > :29:33.woman who's got an enormous amount of self belief. Yes, some players

:29:34. > :29:36.would have got really negative, coming back and not winning, but

:29:37. > :29:49.good signs here from Kasatkina. For breaks of serve in a row.

:29:50. > :31:05.Kasatkina back on serve. That's now six points in a row for

:31:06. > :31:36.Kasatkina. This match has had a lot of changes in momentum.

:31:37. > :31:49.Levels up. No wonder the clenched fist, because she's been on and off

:31:50. > :31:55.a little, Kasatkina, but she's very much still in this second set. She

:31:56. > :32:00.fought so hard in that first set, 5-1 down, gets back to 5-5, then

:32:01. > :32:07.when you thought she'd completely turned the match around, that's when

:32:08. > :32:15.her level dipped again. Venus was 3-1 up and that's when that Keener

:32:16. > :32:17.-- when Kasatkina turned it up again. She's just got to maintain

:32:18. > :32:31.that a bit longer. So many drive volleys yesterday. I

:32:32. > :32:37.think Venus missed one. She's not missed one today. She's been so good

:32:38. > :32:48.at that shot, that shot through the years.

:32:49. > :32:59.That might be worth a challenge? Again, she doesn't trust her

:33:00. > :33:04.instinct of the racket? No, but that looked like it had good length. That

:33:05. > :33:14.was right in front of us and it looked like it had the line. This

:33:15. > :33:20.umpire, who is a great umpire, but there have been a view... It was

:33:21. > :33:52.right in front of her as well. -- eight U.

:33:53. > :34:14.Fantastic feel again. She had to handle a couple of deep shots. Smart

:34:15. > :34:18.play there. Venus well below -- well behind the baseline. Just as well

:34:19. > :34:43.for Kasatkina. Another one at 117 mph, equalling

:34:44. > :34:49.the quickest of the tournament for Venus Williams. She used to hold the

:34:50. > :34:53.record for the fastest ever, 130 mph, before someone else went one

:34:54. > :35:26.mile per hour quicker. That's her six double. She served

:35:27. > :36:16.eight yesterday. She came through with a good second

:36:17. > :37:05.serve their under pressure, Venus. Got caught reaching for that

:37:06. > :37:32.forehand. Needed one more step to get out wide.

:37:33. > :37:40.Well, that's interesting. She e-mailed that. Yes, we haven't got

:37:41. > :37:44.one step forward on any of these drop shots from Venus. Have to keep

:37:45. > :37:49.an eye on that leg and that movement. Moving Fullwood, it

:37:50. > :38:00.doesn't look like willing to do that. -- moving forward.

:38:01. > :38:09.Kasatkina has broken again. Staring at 1-4 at one stage, now she's

:38:10. > :38:23.looking at 4-3 and a break. We talked about her feistiness, we

:38:24. > :38:28.talked about her competitiveness, we are seeing it now and the drop shot

:38:29. > :38:34.is really paying off. She's got to keep that in mind as this goes on.

:38:35. > :38:38.We've seen a couple of BT 's but even that last one, a pretty average

:38:39. > :38:50.drop shot, and it wins her the point.

:38:51. > :38:58.It will be interesting to see now how much she does actually use it,

:38:59. > :39:03.bearing in mind your point that Venus didn't even take a stride to

:39:04. > :39:11.try to chase it down. For any of them. There's been three, maybe,

:39:12. > :39:15.for? This is the first lead that Kasatkina has had in a set. She was

:39:16. > :39:22.always playing catch-up in first set. She has beaten Venus at the

:39:23. > :39:34.start of the year in her very first meeting against her. From a set

:39:35. > :39:36.behind as well, 6-7, 7-3, 7-3. Very different at Wimbledon, knowing the

:39:37. > :39:59.history of what Venus has achieved here. That must be in her mind.

:40:00. > :40:24.The nurse has been to the net three times as much as her opponent in

:40:25. > :41:20.this match. That was a loose ball there, a bad return.

:41:21. > :41:28.Just when you think Kasatkina is on her way, the same thing as in the

:41:29. > :41:37.first set, winds for games in a row and then really gives away the next

:41:38. > :41:39.two games to Venus. Her service game, really too many errors now.

:41:40. > :42:20.Two break points. Terrific defence. A fantastic job of

:42:21. > :43:01.turning defence into fence and staying in that point.

:43:02. > :43:12.Oh, wow. She's gone again. She had a low at the back end of the second

:43:13. > :43:30.set yesterday before she got it back together again just in time.

:43:31. > :43:54.Four points in a row. What a set that is.

:43:55. > :44:02.All of a sudden, she is serving to stay in the set. Kasatkina is back

:44:03. > :45:07.to using every ball that she can, using her speed.

:45:08. > :45:20.When things go for Venus, they go way off. -- when things go off for

:45:21. > :45:26.Venus. She is trying to encourage Venus. She has just lost her rhythm

:45:27. > :45:31.again on the ground strokes. That is when she has to pull the target in,

:45:32. > :45:50.find a target in the middle of the court.

:45:51. > :45:58.That is a good serve. Perfect placement, real commitment to go and

:45:59. > :46:25.explode up and into that toss. If you look at her results this

:46:26. > :46:33.year, Lindsay, we talked about that, she is 57 in the world, been years

:46:34. > :46:39.-- Venus Williams. These lows in matches, one of the biggest problems

:46:40. > :46:45.with her syndrome is fatigue, whether it be mental or physical. It

:46:46. > :46:53.is a real battle. Is it her age? I have no idea on that one! Kasatkina

:46:54. > :46:57.is going over some notes there. There is no question that these ups

:46:58. > :47:02.and downs in matches happen much more frequently now than they did in

:47:03. > :47:08.the beginning to middle part of Venus's career. She has always

:47:09. > :47:16.had... She has always gone off rhythm, especially on the serve,

:47:17. > :47:17.much more than Serena. She seems to lose her timing more easily than

:47:18. > :47:38.Serena. I wonder if any of those notes are

:47:39. > :47:42.talking about how to finish off a set against Venus Williams. Serving

:47:43. > :48:04.at 5-4. That is a good start. This will

:48:05. > :48:09.really test the nerve of Kasatkina, one of the biggest matches of her

:48:10. > :48:11.career to this point, serving for a set. So important to make those

:48:12. > :48:32.first serves in. Oh! That was beautiful. This is the

:48:33. > :48:41.type of tennis that has earned Venus five Wimbledon trophies, those

:48:42. > :48:53.stretch great wingspan. -- those stretch volleys, great wingspan. Too

:48:54. > :49:02.good. I have underestimated how great Kasatkina is. Not too many

:49:03. > :49:14.great players would have gotten this forehand back here. Great stretch.

:49:15. > :50:26.Point of the match so far? Definitely. Getting some of those

:50:27. > :50:30.colleaguess back, that is where Venus needs to be. -- getting some

:50:31. > :50:53.of those volleys back. That backhand missed by a long way

:50:54. > :51:55.there. Venus got the drop shot. She has done it! And she is pretty

:51:56. > :52:01.pumped about it, too. 19-year-old Daria Kasatkina, taking the five

:52:02. > :52:14.times former champion the distance. It is 1-1 insects. -- in sets. And

:52:15. > :52:21.very quickly, Kasatkina off for a change of scenery. Terrific effort.

:52:22. > :52:25.I am surprised she left the court after just getting all that momentum

:52:26. > :52:30.to win that set. It is not a particularly hot day. We have

:52:31. > :52:35.already had to stop a handful of times. Fantastic job down the

:52:36. > :52:41.stretch of holding her nerve and still playing her game. It is a

:52:42. > :52:47.similar story to yesterday for Venus Williams against the qualifier,

:52:48. > :52:56.against Sakkari. She will have to gather herself. She dropped the

:52:57. > :53:00.middle set yesterday. She lost her timing, the shots went off. She

:53:01. > :53:04.wasn't able to structure a proper points and hit as many shots off of

:53:05. > :53:12.her front foot as she did in the first set. Kozak and got much more

:53:13. > :53:20.consistent, started making balls, building points, extending rallies.

:53:21. > :53:25.What a great reaction. She is so used to winning, isn't she? From the

:53:26. > :53:31.juniors straight into the seniors. Great fight in both sets. 5-1 in the

:53:32. > :53:37.first, 3-1 in the second. Great competitive spirit. It is

:53:38. > :53:44.habit-forming, isn't it, winning? Yes. It is so important to learn how

:53:45. > :53:49.to win, had to compete, how to win when you are the underdog, and

:53:50. > :53:54.everything in between. What are your thoughts going into the final set?

:53:55. > :53:58.Is it still on Venus's racket or has Kasatkina got more to say? She does

:53:59. > :54:06.have a lot to say. She has been able to handle some of the power, build

:54:07. > :54:09.the points. There is a bit of a problem in the Williams camp because

:54:10. > :54:14.Serena is about to take to the court on Centre Court. Both Williams

:54:15. > :54:20.sisters will be in action in a few minutes. Nice problem to have to

:54:21. > :54:29.deal with! They have had it for a long time. They are accustomed to it

:54:30. > :54:32.as well. It was a cover time when they went through the period of

:54:33. > :54:37.playing each other so regularly, major after major. And the sibling

:54:38. > :54:42.rivalry and whose turn it is and all that. In boxing, the similar sport,

:54:43. > :54:47.you would not be allowed to fight your sibling. That can't be anything

:54:48. > :54:52.worse than trying to beat the sister that you love on a tennis court in

:54:53. > :54:58.from of millions. We saw it last year at the Australian Open when she

:54:59. > :55:02.had to play Venus on the way. It is an impossible scenario to get

:55:03. > :55:08.cramped up for a quarterfinal match when you are playing your sister and

:55:09. > :55:16.she is going for history. -- to get psyched up. There used to be

:55:17. > :55:23.speculation, but they kept their head up. They played to win. They

:55:24. > :55:32.have shown that throughout their careers. Magnificent Court Number

:55:33. > :55:38.One in all its glory. Henman Hill, overlooking the big screen. They are

:55:39. > :55:44.enjoying their day out. Will it be another Murray triumphed this year?

:55:45. > :55:50.Ivan Lendl is back in the frame. There will be a roof by 2019, so two

:55:51. > :55:55.indoor courts. It creates a lot of atmosphere, one for the fans. It can

:55:56. > :56:02.create unfairness in terms of how the draw pans out and how the top

:56:03. > :56:05.players can get ahead in the draw in wet weeks. Venus Williams to serve

:56:06. > :57:00.Venus Williams to serve first, final set.

:57:01. > :57:06.That will be important for Venus early in this third set, to

:57:07. > :57:09.re-establish her aggressive game, try to go back to shortening the

:57:10. > :57:13.point is how they were in the beginning stages of the first set.

:57:14. > :57:19.Good first serves, aggressive returns, good depth. The longer the

:57:20. > :57:29.point goes, the more that plays in favour of Kasatkina and her running

:57:30. > :57:37.ability, consistency. Backwards on that second serve. Lost all her

:57:38. > :57:40.momentum. Up to eight double faults, the same as yesterday. Just one in

:57:41. > :58:00.her opening round match. That forehand, that sends a message

:58:01. > :58:02.was flattened that one out, got more pace on it, really went for it and

:58:03. > :59:10.committed. The list, look at where she is on

:59:11. > :59:13.the court - well behind the baseline, very hard to hit a flat,

:59:14. > :00:36.low winner from that position. That was a big hold there for Venus.

:00:37. > :00:40.To get some meant back. -- some momentum. Big game for Kasatkina,

:00:41. > :00:52.establish herself in this final set. She is starting to believe in that

:00:53. > :01:00.forehand more, Kasatkina. It is an interesting mix, because at certain

:01:01. > :01:05.points she unleashes more. There are points where she is willing not to

:01:06. > :01:09.mess, other times where she takes more of a chance. She got her belief

:01:10. > :02:49.back in the forehand. Just a little too flat at times,

:02:50. > :02:53.Venus's shots. Again, Kasatkina has made her play more and more as this

:02:54. > :02:57.match has gone on. The majority of the first sat, she played at Venus's

:02:58. > :03:09.Temple - short, quick, aggressive points. -- Venus's tempo.

:03:10. > :03:27.One hour and 52 minutes in the first round, two hours and 24 minutes

:03:28. > :03:32.yesterday. Kozak in was much quicker.

:03:33. > :03:57.If Venus comes through in this match she will have two days off from

:03:58. > :04:02.singles play. Amazingly, whoever wins this match will be through to

:04:03. > :04:09.the fourth round, when Petra Kvitova is still waiting to play her match

:04:10. > :04:10.on Court Number Two. I'm not entirely sure why she wasn't

:04:11. > :05:52.scheduled to be first on as well. Pillar to post in that point,

:05:53. > :05:55.Williams. SUE BARKER: We will be back on Court Number One in a

:05:56. > :06:00.moment, but let's see what has been happening elsewhere. On Centre

:06:01. > :06:04.Court, Juan Martin del Potro has pulled off a surprise, putting out

:06:05. > :06:09.the number four seed, the two-time Grand Slam winner, Stan Wawrinka.

:06:10. > :06:15.And what a story it has been for the Argentine. He has gone through three

:06:16. > :06:18.surgeries, has not played a Grand Slam into the half years and

:06:19. > :06:24.wondered if he would be back again. TV is on the big stage. The Centre

:06:25. > :06:33.Court crowd are aware of his story. He is so popular and has played so

:06:34. > :06:37.many matches. In 2013, that 5- set thriller against Novak Djokovic.

:06:38. > :06:48.Juan Martin del Potro, very much back in the big time. Next on Centre

:06:49. > :06:55.Court, Serena Williams, just getting her match underway. Serena on Centre

:06:56. > :06:58.Court, Venus on Court Number One. That matches live on BBC One. On

:06:59. > :07:06.Court Number Two, Dustin Brown, he is pulling off a bit of an upset

:07:07. > :07:12.against this man, Nick Kyrgios. Not that man! There is Dustin Brown. It

:07:13. > :07:18.is one set all and he is 5-2 up in the third set. He needed a wildcard

:07:19. > :07:23.to get into the Championships but he beat wrap and thou and there could

:07:24. > :07:24.be another upset today against a seeded player. Back to Court Number

:07:25. > :07:54.One. Nice backhand volley there from

:07:55. > :08:06.Venus. Interesting to see in this third set how many times Venus makes

:08:07. > :08:09.it into the net. You have to still have those reserves of energy to

:08:10. > :08:16.still play aggressive tennis as the match goes on. Things are being

:08:17. > :08:34.blown around. Oops! So far in this match, 14 from

:08:35. > :08:38.22 at the net. 61 from 92 in the tournament, Venus Williams. They are

:08:39. > :09:33.great odds. I can't make my mind up about

:09:34. > :09:43.whether Kasatkina is a counterpuncher or... She's has had

:09:44. > :09:51.26 winners in this match. That is not all counterpuncher there. It is

:09:52. > :09:56.a great mix that must play havoc with an opponent's mind, too. Just

:09:57. > :10:01.when you think you're getting on top she can switch to run. The important

:10:02. > :10:04.thing for Kasatkina, she needs clarity on how she wants to play

:10:05. > :10:10.matches and change it when appropriate. She is going to stay

:10:11. > :10:31.here before heading to Centre Court for Serena. She is committed today!

:10:32. > :10:38.They were brought up from such an early age by Richard, their father,

:10:39. > :10:43.to be champions. You will be champions, you will been about one

:10:44. > :10:50.in the world. He was right. -- you will be number one. Your

:10:51. > :10:54.nine-year-old son is playing. Do you tell him everyday, you are going to

:10:55. > :10:59.be number one? Don't get hurt! Are you sure you still like it? I am

:11:00. > :11:13.probably the absolute wrong voice in his ear.

:11:14. > :11:21.There is that great play up at nets from Venus. The Williams sisters

:11:22. > :11:25.have a great mix from their father and mother. It seems they did an

:11:26. > :11:30.excellent job of maybe balancing each other out. Nowhere near as much

:11:31. > :11:48.presence at tournaments, Richard, now.

:11:49. > :12:03.A love game, a good message to Kasatkina.

:12:04. > :12:08.Nudging the scoreboard, Venus Williams. Back to Kozak. The test of

:12:09. > :12:28.character continues. Nothing. How good these thinkers at Kinnock

:12:29. > :12:30.could be? It used to be between 16 and 19, and now it seems it seems to

:12:31. > :13:00.be more between the ages More so with this generation than

:13:01. > :13:04.any other. Did you have coping mechanisms in your mind? Joanna

:13:05. > :13:11.Konta has different bands to help her. I had a view phrases in my head

:13:12. > :13:14.but perhaps I should have had them somewhere else. I didn't have the on

:13:15. > :13:27.court coaching that these players have that regular tournaments.

:13:28. > :14:00.Of course, the grand slams do not allow on court coaching.

:14:01. > :14:08.That is a huge change, for players who depend on that, the on court

:14:09. > :14:39.coaching, having to work it out for yourself.

:14:40. > :14:53.Fabulous! One of the big reasons why Dean is still plays the game are

:14:54. > :14:59.four shots like those. -- why Venus still plays the game are four shots

:15:00. > :15:06.like that. She still hits the ball as well as anyone out there. What a

:15:07. > :15:10.server that was. A kicker on the line out wide. Again, just amazing

:15:11. > :15:39.variety. Ahead on the ace count. That was a big one and Venus didn't

:15:40. > :15:40.really commit to that backhand. The body weight going to her right and

:15:41. > :17:01.backwards. Superb. Just a little nudge. We've

:17:02. > :17:08.seen it time and time again in this match, just the soft hands. It is

:17:09. > :17:09.just the field to get that ball into exactly the place that she wants it

:17:10. > :17:38.on court. The pressure is building on

:17:39. > :17:47.Williams. Until yesterday, she hadn't won a 3-set match this year.

:17:48. > :18:02.She is now one from five. Kasatkina has won nine of 16. She needed that

:18:03. > :18:09.one there. A big serve. That serve have gotten her out of trouble for

:18:10. > :18:13.so many years on grass. There is Venus's long-term coach. 13 years,

:18:14. > :18:27.they have been working together. He has seen a lot. A really nice

:18:28. > :18:34.personality for Venus, really laid-back. The two camps are very

:18:35. > :18:42.different, Serena and Venus. You see Serena's coach courting attention

:18:43. > :18:51.whilst Venus's coach is quite the opposite.

:18:52. > :18:56.Again, that looked tight. She didn't get through that forehand. Break

:18:57. > :19:21.point. She did that so well yesterday too.

:19:22. > :19:26.Served herself out of trouble. This is such an important game. She needs

:19:27. > :20:04.a few more good, effective service here. -- service -- service here.

:20:05. > :20:16.The 19-year-old is on the verge of something special here. Cheap breaks

:20:17. > :20:22.to lead in the third set, 4-3. We have seen so many big upsets at

:20:23. > :20:29.this tournament so far and we could be up for a another on Court number

:20:30. > :20:37.one. A result from outside, where Suarez Navarro is safely through

:20:38. > :20:42.against the player from New Zealand. She will no doubt be watching what

:20:43. > :20:57.is happening on Court number one as she faces the winner of Williams

:20:58. > :21:03.versus has an arena. -- Kasatkina. Serena Williams has not started that

:21:04. > :21:07.well against Christina McHale. That matches live on BBC One. We have

:21:08. > :21:20.been following Kerry said against brown. -- Kyrgios against Dustin

:21:21. > :21:27.brown. There is still a long way to go on that one. Back we go to court

:21:28. > :21:33.number one and Venus Williams in trouble.

:21:34. > :21:44.Big trouble for Venus Williams. Subpoena is serving with a break --

:21:45. > :22:17.Kasatkina is serving with a break in the final set.

:22:18. > :22:25.This will be important for Kasatkina, down the stretch it, to

:22:26. > :22:30.try to hold her nerve. Good service, know what she wants to do with the

:22:31. > :22:33.points. That might be to be very consistent, it might be to step in

:22:34. > :22:41.more. She doesn't want any indecision here.

:22:42. > :23:45.A quick look at the camp. No challenge.

:23:46. > :24:33.Challenging. No she's not? Yes, she is.

:24:34. > :24:45.She had to pull those margins, with shop location inside the court right

:24:46. > :24:46.now. The unforced errors will be hurting Kasatkina in this important

:24:47. > :25:32.game. The history achieved here may be

:25:33. > :25:58.helping her out. Kasatkina is struggled in that game.

:25:59. > :26:05.The break has gone. We saw it last night. You may have some wins in

:26:06. > :26:09.your pocket, you might be on the way up, but when you announce yourself

:26:10. > :26:15.on the grand slam stage and have your first big win against one of

:26:16. > :26:20.the best, it is a real big deal. You know it, people watching know it and

:26:21. > :26:22.unfortunately for Kasatkina, she just realised it before she was over

:26:23. > :26:42.the finish line. Just over two hours now. She is just

:26:43. > :27:01.missing now. What a time for a couple of

:27:02. > :27:54.sprinkles to just start falling again.

:27:55. > :28:03.That drop shot not quite as good as we've seen from Kasatkina. In this

:28:04. > :28:10.match, she was able to get up with enough time. Kasatkina is not

:28:11. > :28:12.playing with the clarity we discussed it was so important for

:28:13. > :28:56.her to have down the stretch. That's a good place. She needed to

:28:57. > :28:59.swing out, get some of the nurse out of her system. That's her 31st

:29:00. > :29:45.game-winner. -- clean winner. A game away, Williams, from the

:29:46. > :30:06.fourth round. Lindsay, you've had your coaching on

:30:07. > :30:08.last year with Madison Keys. If you were coaching Kasatkina and you

:30:09. > :30:14.could have a quick word with her right now, what would you be saying?

:30:15. > :30:18.It's really just about trying to get her to play, not realising the

:30:19. > :30:23.score, the situation, anything of that nature. And that's the hardest

:30:24. > :30:27.thing to do as a tennis player out there by yourself, with no one to

:30:28. > :30:34.share the concerns and the nerves with. It can get sucked out and she

:30:35. > :30:38.froze. She still has time to get it back and I'd try to encourage her to

:30:39. > :30:41.get back into the match, start moving around, I would think to be

:30:42. > :30:43.more aggressive right now. Playing a little too passive when she had a

:30:44. > :30:55.lead. Again, just a very little drizzle

:30:56. > :31:01.falling. This is already match part three. How much of it left?

:31:02. > :32:26.Kasatkina serving to stay in the match at 4-5 in the final set.

:32:27. > :32:39.Well done. That's good hitting from Kasatkina. Venus had a second serve

:32:40. > :32:45.in her strikes, some with the forehand, played it a little safer.

:32:46. > :32:47.We are not used to seeing Matt from her. Kasatkina was then able to take

:32:48. > :33:17.hold of the point. She's done that well all match. A

:33:18. > :33:39.wrong footer into the Williams backhand.

:33:40. > :34:03.Fifth double fault sets up match point Bob Venus williams.

:34:04. > :34:16.Nice recovery from Kasatkina there with a great first serve. She is

:34:17. > :34:17.just hesitating a little bit with her return, Venus williams, not

:34:18. > :34:50.getting clean hits. Didn't move, didn't bend her legs at

:34:51. > :35:25.all there, Venus. The excitement is building here.

:35:26. > :35:30.Match point saved. It is 5-5. What a hole there from Kasatkina. Getting

:35:31. > :35:37.down early and then serving the double fault to give Venus the match

:35:38. > :35:39.point but Venus did not go after the winner there and Kasatkina was up to

:35:40. > :36:06.the challenge. As you got older in your career, did

:36:07. > :36:13.you get more nervous finishing matches? Absolutely, it is harder.

:36:14. > :36:21.It means more, the realisation of what is going on. A smiling Venus

:36:22. > :37:33.Williams. A bit of luck always helps but she

:37:34. > :37:45.certainly went over that game better. A love hold. Venus, 6-5.

:37:46. > :37:52.It's interesting, the point you made. Kasatkina serving in her last

:37:53. > :37:56.game, she was always -- almost trying to get the ball in without

:37:57. > :38:04.trying to win the game. Very different then. Very different. The

:38:05. > :38:08.pace of return increased, trying to take points earlier. She's got to go

:38:09. > :38:15.after this win, Venus, while both players do, but for Venus, it is

:38:16. > :38:19.about going after the ball instead of just getting them in. Do you

:38:20. > :38:26.think because she isn't getting so many free returns -- so many free

:38:27. > :38:32.points on her serve now, that she is not save easy in the return? It

:38:33. > :38:38.certainly wasn't often that she was woken so often in a match ten or 15

:38:39. > :38:41.years ago. Still, she puts so much pressure on players when she is

:38:42. > :38:44.looking to make things happen with the return. It leads to better

:38:45. > :39:00.results for Venus. For the second time, Kasatkina is

:39:01. > :39:21.serving to stay in the match. Is that it? -- is back in? We shall

:39:22. > :39:43.see. Awfully close. You were right, Chris. I thought

:39:44. > :39:54.that might have caught. Thank you, Hawk-Eye.

:39:55. > :40:27.Should Hawk-Eye be on every match court here? No doubt.

:40:28. > :40:36.She tried to go after it, didn't she, Williams? She did and that was

:40:37. > :40:40.just one of those points that you have two say was too good from

:40:41. > :40:53.Kasatkina. She got great depth and fought it well.

:40:54. > :41:11.The no problem this time. Kasatkina olds to love to stay in this final

:41:12. > :41:24.set. No tie-breaks, of course, final set. As a result, they both go back

:41:25. > :41:30.to the full three unsuccessful challenges now. For the next 12

:41:31. > :42:27.games, if it goes to 12, of course! Venus had to be careful here when

:42:28. > :42:31.she changes direction. If she's going to go up the line, she's got

:42:32. > :43:11.to give herself a lot of margin inside that sideline.

:43:12. > :43:27.UMPIRE: Ms Darya Kasatkina challenged the call. The ball was

:43:28. > :43:57.called in. 15-30. Ms Kasatkina, two challenges remaining.

:43:58. > :44:15.Venus getting much more depressive with her second serve. 90 miles per

:44:16. > :44:18.hour. Erve. 90 miles per hour. -- much more aggressive. Fastest second

:44:19. > :44:48.serve of the match. APPLAUSE. Hit that one with

:44:49. > :45:23.authority. Oh, she missed it. Is that wishful

:45:24. > :45:29.thinking, walking to the chair. Another one for Hawk-Eye to add to

:45:30. > :45:33.the drama. Just missed again on that sideline.

:45:34. > :45:51.UMPIRE: Ms Williams has two challenges remaining.

:45:52. > :46:00.Great serve, 93 miles an hour, more spin. Really got that one tailing

:46:01. > :46:09.away. It is not always about the speed.

:46:10. > :46:24.Same again. Great hold from 0-30. Williams nudges ahead again.

:46:25. > :46:35.Two hours and 22 minutes. Two minutes shy of the match played

:46:36. > :46:42.yesterday. Venus drawing on all of her experience there. Venus has

:46:43. > :46:49.played a lot of tennis this week. Kasatkina has only played one match.

:46:50. > :46:59.But Venus... She's been on the court for singles. We mentioned the

:47:00. > :47:03.doubles match yesterday. Yesterday.. That would make me nervous to see it

:47:04. > :47:09.like that. Short swing... Follow through. Just the reminders. Under

:47:10. > :47:14.the pressure of try to think straight. That's what makes it so

:47:15. > :47:19.fascinating for everybody here and everybody at home, who is going to

:47:20. > :47:27.handle this situation right here? A 19-year-old, Kasatkina. In her first

:47:28. > :47:32.Wimbledon. Up against Venus Williams in her 19th. For the third time

:47:33. > :47:36.serving to stay in this final set at 6-7. It's getting darker. Still a

:47:37. > :48:22.few spots of rain again. I like that play better from Venus.

:48:23. > :48:27.Hit with authority there these last few return games. It's really been

:48:28. > :48:29.getting balls in, seeing what Kasatkina would come up with. Venus

:48:30. > :49:20.has got to go after this win. Out! That's great defending by

:49:21. > :49:22.Kasatkina there. It has just got noticeably darker in the stadium.

:49:23. > :50:21.The clouds are really coming in. Would you believe it?

:50:22. > :50:26.UMPIRE: Ladies and gentlemen, play suspended. It's pouring and there's

:50:27. > :50:31.blue sky just behind the clouds! Second Match Point is not going to

:50:32. > :50:36.happen. A panic came over the crowd there as the rain came across the

:50:37. > :50:43.court. They started to scream and scramble. They have done a great job

:50:44. > :50:48.of getting the covers across as quick as that, because it is

:50:49. > :51:03.pouring. Wow! Can you believe it? Match Point! They go off for a third

:51:04. > :51:07.time. Her face says it all. But spare a thought for Kasatkina,

:51:08. > :51:17.because when they start again she's got to save a Match Point. Amazing.

:51:18. > :51:22.Sister Serena under the roof shortly, because they had to go

:51:23. > :51:26.outdoors, because the rain stopped, the roof was open. It's all

:51:27. > :51:34.happening on day five. Look at that look. Can you believe it, says

:51:35. > :51:37.Venus. Worked so hard to get another Match Point, and there was zero

:51:38. > :51:42.chance these players could play through this rain. Not a great sign

:51:43. > :51:47.for either player that they are going to inflate the covers as well.

:51:48. > :51:53.That means a fairly significant break. Absolutely. It's strange.

:51:54. > :51:59.There's a rainbow somewhere, because there is blue sky too. Obviously not

:52:00. > :52:08.coming this way though. For them to be straight away, to get the bubble

:52:09. > :52:17.up. The wonders of our British summer, Lindsey. So, 7-6 Williams,

:52:18. > :52:24.Match Point, but after two hours and 26 minutes there is another pause.

:52:25. > :52:27.STUDIO: So frustrating for everyone but particularly the players. I

:52:28. > :52:31.can't imagine what poor Daria Kasatkina is going to think when she

:52:32. > :52:35.has too come out and serve to save Match Point. Still, this ehave to

:52:36. > :52:39.wait on Court Number One. Not a match completed there. We'll be

:52:40. > :52:45.right back there as soon as play gets under way once again. They are

:52:46. > :52:53.closing the roof on Centre Court. Serena Williams, she has headed off

:52:54. > :52:58.to the locker room with Christina McHale tied at 4-4. We'll have

:52:59. > :53:07.tennis on BBC One shortly. We bring you tennis today from court 12. It

:53:08. > :53:12.features Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, twice a semifinalist, up against Juan Monaco

:53:13. > :53:22.of Argentina. We join it at the start of the second set.

:53:23. > :53:33.I just don't get it. I understand why he's hittingev ball down the

:53:34. > :54:03.middle. Oh, that is a wonderful putaway at

:54:04. > :54:05.the net. Monaco is shaking his fist in acknowledgement. What a backhand

:54:06. > :54:30.volley. Finds himself behind on his own

:54:31. > :54:59.serve once again. The ball perhaps checking on the

:55:00. > :55:03.baseline. That's perhaps why Monaco is looking quizzically in that

:55:04. > :55:05.direction. Two break points in his opening service game of this second

:55:06. > :55:31.set. UMPIRE: Game Tsonga. The third

:55:32. > :55:39.service game in succession Monaco has been broken.

:55:40. > :55:48.An inauspicious start to set number two for Juan Monaco. Monaco must be

:55:49. > :55:54.thinking he just rolled out of bed on the wrong side, because he has

:55:55. > :55:59.not yet posted today. Really he's done nothing to bother Tsonga, who

:56:00. > :57:15.in his own right has been very efficient.

:57:16. > :57:24.He's overcooked it! APPLAUSE. Did all the hard work with

:57:25. > :57:29.the drop shot but didn't finish in the backhand. It certainly looked as

:57:30. > :57:38.though Tsonga had a lot of room to lob the ball over Monaco. His nose

:57:39. > :57:40.was over the net. A rare foothold into the service game of Jo-Wilfried

:57:41. > :57:58.Tsonga for Juan Monaco. Simply too many unforced errors off

:57:59. > :58:44.relatively simple balls. Oh, that made him look unconfident.

:58:45. > :58:50.It was a wonderful passing shot. Tsonga elected to approach the net.

:58:51. > :58:58.It was a difficult first volley. It was low. Perhaps it would have been

:58:59. > :59:07.better to go behind Monaco. Hindsight always 20-20.

:59:08. > :59:16.UMPIRE: Advantage Monaco. The ball didn't bounce as high as Tsonga was

:59:17. > :59:27.expecting, but he also was a bit casual with his footwork. Now it's

:59:28. > :59:31.Tsonga's turn to look questioningly at the line. Break point.

:59:32. > :00:02.APPLAUSE. He's off the first one. UMPIRE: Advantage Monaco. Just a few

:00:03. > :00:03.errors creeping into that usually utterly reliable forehand. Second

:00:04. > :00:29.break point on this service game. APPLAUSE. 131 miles an hour down the

:00:30. > :00:43.centreline. UMPIRE: Game Tsonga.

:00:44. > :00:58.APPLAUSE. So, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga sees off two

:00:59. > :01:02.break point opportunities created by Juan Monaco. Consolidates the break.

:01:03. > :01:06.We remain on serve, with Monaco to serve. Down a break, 0-2, second

:01:07. > :01:19.set. APPLAUSE. Nice angle created on the

:01:20. > :02:06.forehand. From that corner of the court

:02:07. > :02:10.Jo-Wilfried Tsonga saw the wind carry a shot into Doubles Alley.

:02:11. > :02:12.There was plenty of swerve on that one from Monaco, but perhaps the

:02:13. > :02:38.wind aided it as well. 0-30 down. He seemingly can't buy a forehand at

:02:39. > :03:52.the moment. APPLAUSE. Tsonga putting on a run

:03:53. > :03:59.and Monaco coming out on top. The longest rally of the match.

:04:00. > :04:06.If Monaco is to make any kind of run in this second set, desperately

:04:07. > :04:29.needs to hold serve here. Down two breaks. Say goodbye.

:04:30. > :04:35.That gives all players a modicum of hope, coming off the frame of

:04:36. > :04:41.Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on that occasion. Three break points have been seen

:04:42. > :04:46.off. Monaco to battle his way back to deuce. Tsonga expected that ball

:04:47. > :04:52.to skid through just a bit more. It checked and this time did badly.

:04:53. > :05:44.UMPIRE: Advantage Tsonga. UMPIRE: Advantage Monaco.

:05:45. > :05:57.APPLAUSE. What a time to produce that for Monaco.

:05:58. > :06:04.UMPIRE: Mr Monaco challenging the car. The ball was called in. This is

:06:05. > :06:10.a tight one. Certainly most of the ball was wide. I'm not sure if all

:06:11. > :06:22.of it was though. Let's see Hawk-Eye.

:06:23. > :06:43.UMPIRE: Mr Monaco has two challenges remaining.

:06:44. > :06:55.UMPIRE: Advantage Tsonga. So this is break point number five. For

:06:56. > :07:06.Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Won't want to be profligate on this occasion.

:07:07. > :07:13.UMPIRE: Game Tsonga. APPLAUSE. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga battled

:07:14. > :07:27.back but ultimately concedes again. For the fourth service game in

:07:28. > :07:38.succession Juan Monaco unable to find Sepp Blatter. -- unable to find

:07:39. > :07:43.serve. Jo-Wilfried Tsonga gives the impression he is a happy-go-lucky

:07:44. > :07:48.guy, but he is a fierce competitor. It's why he is able to, or he has

:07:49. > :07:55.been able to get into the world's top ten and stay there for many

:07:56. > :08:04.years. With an extremely subpar backhand. It's a shot that doesn't

:08:05. > :08:11.scare anyone. He makes it on occasion, but the percentages are

:08:12. > :08:18.very low. He has figured out a way to mask that, to play around it.

:08:19. > :08:26.UMPIRE: Time. To bring his strengths to bear. And it works well for him.

:08:27. > :08:31.That competitive spirit perhaps never more evident than when he came

:08:32. > :08:38.back from two sets down to defeat Roger Federer at the quarterfinal

:08:39. > :08:43.stage of Wimbledon 2011. Won all five of the five-set matches he's

:08:44. > :08:46.contested at Wimbledon. That perhaps the most memorable of all. Two

:08:47. > :09:32.breaks to the good here. UMPIRE: Correction, 0-30. Mr Tsonga

:09:33. > :09:38.challenging the call. A cacophony of call there is. That was a

:09:39. > :09:40.questionable call by Mr Murphy. My mistake, it whaps and was an

:09:41. > :10:06.excellent overrule. UMPIRE: Mr Tsonga has two challenges

:10:07. > :10:10.remaining. So Tsonga checking the ball for residue once again. He

:10:11. > :10:25.finds himself facing three break points.

:10:26. > :11:05.APPLAUSE. UMPIRE: Game Monaco.

:11:06. > :11:12.So, Tsonga failing to consolidate the second service break that he

:11:13. > :11:14.earned in this second set. Monaco breaks back immediately. He is still

:11:15. > :11:50.down a break though. And the Frenchman appears to have

:11:51. > :12:25.gone AWOL for the last five minutes or so.

:12:26. > :12:35.UMPIRE: Game Monaco. APPLAUSE. What a turn around here on

:12:36. > :12:41.court 12. In the previous passage of play... Juan Monaco was in the

:12:42. > :12:45.ascendancy. Racing through his service game after breaking the

:12:46. > :12:49.fourth game of this second set on the Tsonga serve. So perhaps a bad

:12:50. > :12:55.patch being experienced by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga? Or a lapse in

:12:56. > :13:00.concentration. Maybe allied by the tact that Monaco's raised his game

:13:01. > :13:04.as well and finding his forehand in the middle of the racket. That most

:13:05. > :13:06.certainly wasn't the case in the opening set, and then some of this

:13:07. > :13:22.second round match. As he has played in the last couple

:13:23. > :13:30.of sets, it has been the kind of tennis we have come to expect from

:13:31. > :13:36.Monaco. Nothing particularly special, but efficient. He had been

:13:37. > :13:43.anything but for most of this match. Perhaps aided by a very loose

:13:44. > :13:48.service came from Tsonga. Tsonga will be looking to stop the rot hit.

:13:49. > :14:01.He is serving. Still up by a break here.

:14:02. > :14:07.On the other side at least, at least Tsonga had the excuse of serving

:14:08. > :14:27.into the sun. Plenty of positive body language

:14:28. > :14:31.being exceeded by this man. Very animated. He is ahead on the Tsonga

:14:32. > :14:46.serve. That is a very good put away and

:14:47. > :14:56.Tsonga congratulates himself from that folly. Once again, Monaco

:14:57. > :14:57.failing to control the forehand. He needs to keep it much lower than

:14:58. > :16:49.that. He didn't like where the ball toss

:16:50. > :16:52.appeared. There is a swirling wind. You can see from the trees in the

:16:53. > :16:58.background just how much it is gusting.

:16:59. > :17:03.That one left the confines of court 12 and went into the thoroughfares

:17:04. > :17:18.in between. So, Tsonga get himself out of a love

:17:19. > :17:38.30 deficit to ultimately hold serve, so Monaco serving, 2-4, second set.

:17:39. > :17:44.That gives you an impression of how the wind is swirling around this

:17:45. > :18:14.part of south-west London at the moment.

:18:15. > :19:22.The wind has played havoc with the ball toss on occasion.

:19:23. > :19:31.Nice to see the umbrella is being used as parasols given the day we

:19:32. > :19:43.have had until this point. Yes, it is. I'd say this next service game

:19:44. > :19:47.is of the utmost importance for Tsonga if he is to finish this match

:19:48. > :19:52.off quickly, as I'm sure he would like to do. Remember, it was from

:19:53. > :20:01.this end that he dropped serve the last time. You have two assumed if

:20:02. > :20:10.he were hold -- if he were to hold, he'd go 5-3 and at the very least,

:20:11. > :20:15.he'd hold serve from the good end. I do believe the wind is into his face

:20:16. > :20:23.at this end he's about to serve. The sun is in his face. You have two say

:20:24. > :20:28.that has not been the case very often this week. -- you must say

:20:29. > :21:03.that has not been the case very often this week.

:21:04. > :21:11.Tsonga launching a challenge and that serve and my goodness, his eye

:21:12. > :21:28.is in today! Monaco still questioning. The

:21:29. > :21:33.authority of Hawk-Eye. Well, it is the final arbiter and so you can't

:21:34. > :21:40.argue with it, even if it is not 100% correct, it is pretty close.

:21:41. > :22:22.Monaco saw a mark on the court that he thought was wide.

:22:23. > :22:27.So rattling through that service game to hold to love and now Monaco

:22:28. > :22:43.faces serving to stay in this set. Interesting if you heard cheers just

:22:44. > :22:44.a moment ago, they are from Court Two, which is adjacent to this

:22:45. > :22:59.court. Nick Kyrgios, the Australian bad boy

:23:00. > :23:05.that most people love to hate, or just love to watch being bad,

:23:06. > :23:10.playing Dustin brown, who is about as charismatic a character as you

:23:11. > :23:43.will find. He is really loved around the circuit.

:23:44. > :23:50.This was dream time. You see the approach shot, the middling approach

:23:51. > :23:55.shot, certainly not very deep or powerful. Not going to be successful

:23:56. > :24:46.with that very often against Tsonga. How Monaco would like to fashion a

:24:47. > :25:03.break here to pile the pressure on Tsonga.

:25:04. > :25:12.He gave Tsonga the runaround beyond the baseline. I don't know if we

:25:13. > :25:16.could see it but Tsonga slipped at the back of the court. He might have

:25:17. > :25:18.hurt his heels a little bit which can be awkward but he seems to be

:25:19. > :25:49.all right. New balls, please. So, Monaco holds

:25:50. > :25:51.serve and if Tsonga wants to take this set, he will have do serve it

:25:52. > :26:12.out. 5-4, second set. This was the slip. He came back he

:26:13. > :26:22.bit gingerly from that. That was an afterthought, am I going to bend on

:26:23. > :26:27.this one? But initial alarm seems to have given away to optimism. You can

:26:28. > :26:54.see him though the loosening up his wheelchair.

:26:55. > :27:03.Tsonga has had all manner of injuries through his career but he

:27:04. > :27:08.seems to be moving OK here. Here he is, serving for the second set,

:27:09. > :27:15.leading by 5-4 and by one set to love. New balls. That is not a happy

:27:16. > :27:59.site for Monaco. Ace number 34 Tsonga. -- case number

:28:00. > :28:32.three four Tsonga. Closing out the second set in

:28:33. > :28:41.rapid-fire fashion. Tsonga Jo Wilfred taking the second set in 37

:28:42. > :28:49.seconds of play. -- Jo Wilfred Tsonga taking the second set in 37

:28:50. > :28:56.minutes of play. It was over in the blink of an eye. That is exhibit a

:28:57. > :29:12.in the book of how to close out sets. It is such a... Art might not

:29:13. > :29:17.be the right word but it is such a skill to convert closing

:29:18. > :29:23.opportunities. As you suggested it would, Peter, the first serves in

:29:24. > :29:32.and first serves one down from the improbable numbers of 88% that

:29:33. > :29:35.Tsonga enjoyed in the first set. That's why stats can be so

:29:36. > :29:42.misleading, really, because when you look at this set of stats you would

:29:43. > :29:47.say, who won the set? OK, Tsonga hit a view more winners than Monaco but

:29:48. > :29:53.that's about the only difference. That's as far as the stats go. The

:29:54. > :29:57.Argentinian will be pleased, at least, that he entered the match,

:29:58. > :30:04.because the first set and a half, he was abysmal. He really didn't do

:30:05. > :30:10.much of anything. Now he's playing the thought of tennis over the last

:30:11. > :30:22.20 minutes or so that we expect from him. Crucial for him though to get a

:30:23. > :30:28.foothold early on in this third set. Hold, break, hold would do nicely.

:30:29. > :30:59.The third set, Monaco to serve, trailing by two sets to love.

:31:00. > :31:13.Tsonga just miss cueing slightly with the drop shot attack. He is

:31:14. > :31:18.just flexing that he'll a little bit. I'm hoping that's not a vestige

:31:19. > :31:22.of the incident that happened up at the opposite end of the court when

:31:23. > :31:29.he skidded playing a two handed backhand.

:31:30. > :31:39.If it is, and I'm sure Monaco will test the mobility of Jo Wilfred

:31:40. > :31:53.Tsonga by giving him the runaround. Again, he's not working totally

:31:54. > :32:02.freely back to his chair at this change of ends. Yeah, and I'm sure

:32:03. > :32:11.it will be a concern for Tsonga. He's probably saw and tennis players

:32:12. > :32:17.get those sorts of mishaps more often than you might think. -- he's

:32:18. > :32:21.probably in pain. Sometimes they go away and you wake up the next

:32:22. > :32:23.morning and you're fine and other times they become something

:32:24. > :32:31.altogether more serious and you might have do take one or two weeks

:32:32. > :32:37.of. Or you play on thinking it's not so bad and then it gets worse.

:32:38. > :33:07.In that point, it was Monaco who was given the runaround. Tsonga able to

:33:08. > :33:26.stand and deliver, overriding that forehand.

:33:27. > :33:47.A wonderful service hold from Jo Wilfred Tsonga.

:33:48. > :33:59.Just past the hour mark. Jo Wilfred Tsonga has put himself in a

:34:00. > :34:01.commanding position. So we remain on serve, one game all, Monaco to serve

:34:02. > :34:36.in the third game. Yikes! Monaco berating himself

:34:37. > :35:32.audibly. That forehand spraying white. At least four feet wide.

:35:33. > :35:38.He is struggling to find the centre of the racket during the course of

:35:39. > :35:39.this particular service game. He finds himself facing two break

:35:40. > :36:05.points. Oh, delightful. Maybe Tsonga didn't

:36:06. > :36:16.do enough with the initial shot but good recovery skill from Monaco.

:36:17. > :36:39.Yeah, Monaco got up to that one in a hurry. Still facing break point.

:36:40. > :36:46.Well, that, the break of serve and it proved crucial because it Jo

:36:47. > :36:51.Wilfred Tsonga held onto his service games and here's Monaco serving at

:36:52. > :36:57.match point and so Jo Wilfred Tsonga goes through in straight sets 61,

:36:58. > :37:06.64, 63. He is free to face even John is that all Matthew Marsden. The

:37:07. > :37:10.number 12 seed is safely through and always a popular player here at

:37:11. > :37:15.Wimbledon. They enjoyed his entertaining style out on Court 12.

:37:16. > :37:21.That was earlier today. You can see the covers are still on. It is still

:37:22. > :37:26.raining. We are hoping to get a dry spell. They have said it is on the

:37:27. > :37:30.way. Under the roof, we can head over there now for life play and the

:37:31. > :37:37.Serena Williams, the defending champion, in action against

:37:38. > :37:40.Christina McHale. It is for- two in the opening set tie-break, so let's

:37:41. > :37:57.join them now. Serena gave up the first mini-break

:37:58. > :38:56.with her own double faults. Given half a chance and she knows

:38:57. > :39:20.it. On her favourite forehand. That's a brilliant pass at full

:39:21. > :39:23.stretch. Of the backhand slice from McHale. They shot she's not that

:39:24. > :40:07.comfortable with but she controlled it well. Back on serve again.

:40:08. > :40:17.Now, it has been called out by the umpire. It is going to be

:40:18. > :40:22.challenged. Was he right to overrule?

:40:23. > :40:55.Yes. 5-5. Great scrambling from McHale.

:40:56. > :41:11.Well, well, well. He's got ants in his pants! We must remember McHale

:41:12. > :41:13.was set points down in the 10th game. Now she has a set point of her

:41:14. > :41:58.own. Both players, both women have had

:41:59. > :42:03.set points now. Listen to be a plausible McHale. -- to the applause

:42:04. > :42:40.for McHale. Oh, my word. Just her third of the

:42:41. > :42:41.match. That's what happened to Serena these days. She does get

:42:42. > :43:12.nervous at the crunch. Set point. A very passive point though from

:43:13. > :43:17.McHale. First serve just 83 miles an hour. More like a second serve. A

:43:18. > :43:32.credit to Serena. She did not hold back at all.

:43:33. > :43:45.A change-up serve there, the slower serve became effective.

:43:46. > :43:58.Third set point for McHale. On the Williams serve.

:43:59. > :45:07.BOOING. The booing is that Williams has thrown a little temper tantrum,

:45:08. > :45:13.her racket has gone flying. Flying. And she gets a warning. She bashed

:45:14. > :45:24.it into the surface four or five times in anger.

:45:25. > :45:34.A crazy set there. McHale went 4-2 lead and Serena got it back to 4-4,

:45:35. > :45:39.15-0. The rain came down and they went off court for over 20 minutes.

:45:40. > :45:45.They came back on court and Serena was looking so much sharper, and

:45:46. > :45:53.Serena had that one set point. This was it. About 25 seconds people were

:45:54. > :46:05.thinking... That was called out. She challenged. And by the narrowest of

:46:06. > :46:10.margins Hawk-Eye said in. They replayed the point. Christina McHale

:46:11. > :46:14.saved the set point second time around and lo and behold now leads

:46:15. > :46:15.by a set to love. UMPIRE: Ladies and gentlemen, please

:46:16. > :46:23.take your seats quickly. Thank you. How will Serena rebound here, and

:46:24. > :47:26.can McHale sustain it? I think before Hawk-Eye that would

:47:27. > :47:36.have been the Williams set. Yep, a wonderful invention.

:47:37. > :47:44.Just glad it wasn't around when I was there, it would have shown up my

:47:45. > :47:45.deficiencies. All that's happened is the chair umpires are overruling

:47:46. > :48:25.less often. UMPIRE: Game Ms McHale.

:48:26. > :48:30.APPLAUSE. First game, second set. So a very point of view opening game.

:48:31. > :48:35.Serena, as she always does, walks straight down. You saw her

:48:36. > :48:42.thundering the racket into the ground and having failed to break

:48:43. > :48:46.it, it was thrown away. It nearly took out our cameraman! Well caught!

:48:47. > :48:49.He should have kept it, could have put it on eBay. Put your kids

:48:50. > :48:59.through college. Yes. Serena's mood has got to change

:49:00. > :49:33.here. That backhand slice making it so

:49:34. > :49:37.difficult for Williams. Serena at Indian Wells and Miami this year had

:49:38. > :49:46.some matches where she wasn't happy on court. Wasn't playing with joy.

:49:47. > :49:53.Particularly when she lost to Kuznetsova in Miami.

:49:54. > :50:09.She is in a hurry. Hardly pausing at all between points at the moment.

:50:10. > :50:15.When you start brushing you quite often start to double fault as well.

:50:16. > :50:29.Four now. Oh! Oh! Such a gift there from

:50:30. > :50:35.McHale. A half-try on that backhand from Williams.

:50:36. > :51:06.McHale really needs to capitalise when Williams is looking so upset.

:51:07. > :51:40.Out! APPLAUSE. Serena expecting that ball

:51:41. > :51:46.to go long and didn't mover her feet. She'll have to dig deep here,

:51:47. > :52:12.get herself back engaged. Not wide enough, that serve, as you

:52:13. > :52:14.Americans could say. Straight from the wheel house into the hitting

:52:15. > :52:51.zone. This kind of moodiness in matches is

:52:52. > :53:06.starting to show up. Last year or two.

:53:07. > :53:47.Mead the net 20 times already. -- made.

:53:48. > :54:31.That's brilliant. UMPIRE: New balls, please.

:54:32. > :54:43.Wonderful use of angle by Williams on that last shot. She wouldn't be

:54:44. > :54:47.the first great champion to use a little bit of anger to rouse herself

:54:48. > :54:58.and fight her way back into the match. To me it's all about the

:54:59. > :55:02.emotion here for Serena. Can she find that extra gear in in fact I

:55:03. > :55:06.think so many in tennis recognise that, because she was asked about it

:55:07. > :55:13.in press, does he feel fresh and'ser? Feel fresh and'ser? Does he

:55:14. > :55:19.-- fresh and eager. She said I would be lying if I said I don't feel

:55:20. > :55:24.fresh, but I don't feel fatigue. I don't feel fresh, but I feel hungry,

:55:25. > :55:32.super motivated, ready to do the best. First ranked in the world's

:55:33. > :55:33.top 100 in 1997. An extraordinary career she's had.

:55:34. > :55:37.UMPIRE: Ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats, thank you. As I

:55:38. > :55:42.have said before, it hasn't been linear. There've been breaks. A

:55:43. > :55:46.captain in the crowd. A captain in the Royal Box. Alastair Cook, of

:55:47. > :55:49.course, not on one-day international duty. England's test cricket

:55:50. > :56:00.captain. You know all about the rules of

:56:01. > :56:38.cricket don't you Tracey. A bit like me and baseball. Seven aces.

:56:39. > :56:45.Serena's camp has been pretty open about how much that loss in the

:56:46. > :56:50.semifinals of the US Open took out of her. She didn't play another

:56:51. > :57:02.tournament the rest of the year. Two matches shy of a calendar year.

:57:03. > :57:34.UMPIRE: Game Ms Williams. Serena shaking her head.

:57:35. > :58:28.Five sisters in the Williams family. One was sadly killed.

:58:29. > :58:36.Some second serve handled easily by Williamsment she must be recognising

:58:37. > :58:39.the attitude on the other side of the net, that McHale needs to

:58:40. > :58:41.continue to play aggressively and hold her ground close to the

:58:42. > :59:01.baseline. The smile says it all. That's

:59:02. > :59:06.probably the worst shot she has played in the whole match. You can't

:59:07. > :59:25.let your standards drop against the world number one.

:59:26. > :00:00.One thing about McHale is you will never see a change of attitude. You

:00:01. > :00:25.never know what the score is. Competes very well.

:00:26. > :00:34.STUDIO: Like the great champion she is, Serena Williams has raised the

:00:35. > :00:40.level of her play. She is 4-1 up with four breaks of serve on Centre

:00:41. > :00:46.Court. This is her sister, Venus. This is when rain stopped play. She

:00:47. > :00:51.couldn't believe it, because she had Match Point on the Kasatkina serve.

:00:52. > :00:58.Why does the rain come down now at Match Point?! She has had to wait

:00:59. > :01:02.some time in the locker room, but it looks like she will complete the

:01:03. > :01:07.match this time. It's the fourth time they've been out on court.

:01:08. > :01:12.There's Serena still with that leg heavily strapped. She has a Match

:01:13. > :01:17.Point against the 19-year-old from Russia. The 19-year-old had all the

:01:18. > :01:20.pressure on her. She will be serving at Match Point down. If you want to

:01:21. > :01:24.watch that, that's on the Red Button. We will show you what

:01:25. > :01:30.happens over on BBC Two as well. We'll keep you up to date with that

:01:31. > :01:36.one on BBC Two. But back to Centre Court. And the reason why the mother

:01:37. > :01:41.of the sisters is not watching Serena is, of course, she is

:01:42. > :01:46.watching Venus. Hoping that Venus will finish off that match. Serena

:01:47. > :01:58.right back in this one with the double break and 4-1 lead.

:01:59. > :02:11.This is one of those sets where Serena is hitting the ball so hard

:02:12. > :02:28.her opponent feels like they are along for the ride.

:02:29. > :02:43.Ride. UMPIRE: net, first service.

:02:44. > :02:56.Those are the types of errors we saw at the beginning of the first set

:02:57. > :04:17.from Serena. This is up to five straight games.

:04:18. > :04:27.Psychologically important for Christina McHale to hold and at

:04:28. > :04:29.least feel she's back in this mam. And at least feel she's back in this

:04:30. > :05:16.mam. -- this match.

:05:17. > :05:23.Pressing to do more on the second serve. Two double faults creeping in

:05:24. > :05:50.now. Three in total. This whole set, Serena not building

:05:51. > :06:14.points but it's worked. She's taking such big cuts.

:06:15. > :06:55.Nicely done, to stay poised and composed, a set getting away from

:06:56. > :07:16.her very quickly. But she's playing point by point, hanging in there.

:07:17. > :07:36.And Serena already be coming out to serve for the second second set in a

:07:37. > :07:42.moment. This is Venus, when play resumed. She has Match Point against

:07:43. > :07:51.Daria Kasatkina of Russia, the 29th seed.

:07:52. > :07:58.No, so not to be. She doesn't get the Match Point, and indeed

:07:59. > :08:04.Kasatkina went on to hold that service game. At the moment, Venus

:08:05. > :08:10.Williams is 8-7-Up. This is the current score at the change of ends,

:08:11. > :08:13.so back on serve, 8-7 Venus Williams leads. That match is live on the Red

:08:14. > :08:34.Button. What a thrill for that young lady.

:08:35. > :08:38.Watching one of the all-time champions really having to work

:08:39. > :09:02.hard. A strange frame of mind at the moment.

:09:03. > :09:11.Stunning. APPLAUSE.

:09:12. > :09:18.That's when McHale's at her best, she is really driving those ground

:09:19. > :10:46.strokes. Very flat. APPLAUSE. Over the line. Just

:10:47. > :10:49.barely. A little off balance. Strong enough to pull it back in. Set

:10:50. > :11:23.point. Fault!

:11:24. > :11:24.UMPIRE: Ms Williams challenging. The ball was called out.

:11:25. > :11:47.APPLAUSE. Now it's Christina McHale

:11:48. > :11:55.challenging. UMPIRE: The ball was called in.

:11:56. > :12:13.Serena is looking so irritated. She knew it had missed.

:12:14. > :12:25.UMPIRE: Advantage Ms Williams. Ms Williams has two challenges

:12:26. > :12:37.remaining. UMPIRE: Game, second set, Ms

:12:38. > :12:49.Williams. Second set then to the champion.

:12:50. > :12:57.And yet as she walked to the chair there was no joy in having won that

:12:58. > :13:03.second set. You just wonder if she's played so long on the tour, or it

:13:04. > :13:08.wears on her the fact that every match she plays, she is expected to

:13:09. > :13:23.win. It is only really news if she loses. A few second set statistics.

:13:24. > :13:26.Serena able to break twice, and McHale never given a sniff at a

:13:27. > :13:32.break point opportunity. Two completely different sets. The first

:13:33. > :13:38.long points, exchanges from the baseline. Back and forth. Serena

:13:39. > :14:01.very controlled in her emotions. Thought at that single Ike and still

:14:02. > :14:11.were not able get that at point -- it seemed as if her demeanour had

:14:12. > :14:16.changed. But not be able to think clearly, tactically, in order to

:14:17. > :14:22.come through like that. I cannot remember and other champion playing

:14:23. > :14:56.like that, even John McEnroe would have an

:14:57. > :15:11.of standing on the fine, fine ball early.

:15:12. > :16:58.there is not a lot of rhythm to this match. Serena continues to punish

:16:59. > :17:15.the second serve. McHale winning only 31%.

:17:16. > :18:48.They have got to come in and it recognised that are gay as

:18:49. > :19:57.great return but she needs to be better with her footwork.

:19:58. > :21:19.Serena did not do enough with that high volley. That should have been a

:21:20. > :21:27.winner. Gave McHale a lifeline there in that

:21:28. > :22:18.point. Just too big a swing off a 111 mile

:22:19. > :22:20.an hour serve. Compromise is not a word that Serena Williams recognises

:22:21. > :22:55.at the moment. Oh, timing completely off, but the

:22:56. > :23:34.feet are like cement there. Off balance. I think that's nerves.

:23:35. > :23:53.Mitchell and here. -- crucial game here. Serena will just get moodier

:23:54. > :23:55.if she loses this game. -- will just get moodier here if she loses this

:23:56. > :24:24.game. Couple of huge gifts there from

:24:25. > :25:17.Christina McHale. Advantage, Serena Williams.

:25:18. > :25:39.Desperately needs a first serve here.

:25:40. > :25:54.Two doubles. And she has thrown Serena Williams a lifeline.

:25:55. > :26:03.It is understandable, I've poked, or Christina McHale, that's what of

:26:04. > :26:17.creating one of the biggest upsets... Bat-macro I suppose. -- I

:26:18. > :26:25.suppose. No one bought that Georgina McHale would be able to get this

:26:26. > :26:33.win. That was an important break of serve. Here it is her older sister

:26:34. > :26:39.with another match I get 32-macro and that is it, Stu Winslet 10-8 and

:26:40. > :26:53.with its symbols and the doubles yesterday, she has been off court --

:26:54. > :27:40.singles and doubles -- Daria Kasatkina. Curig is it 5-3 up.

:27:41. > :27:50.There is no way of Court Number One that ought -- it is a barely long

:27:51. > :28:11.way. -- to Centre Court. Staff at the big game, I got through

:28:12. > :28:29.the Venus, I'll she must be thinking.

:28:30. > :29:24.If Serena wins this, a double fault and a wild forehand in the next

:29:25. > :29:26.point as well... She does not have as much experience on the big

:29:27. > :30:24.stages. It is a lot to ask of her. Suddenly Michaela has lost ten

:30:25. > :30:41.points in a row and the balance is changing rapidly.

:30:42. > :31:05.It's awesome. Possibly relaxed is the wrong word. Just less angry, and

:31:06. > :31:45.able to think clearer. McHale held from 0-40 in the first

:31:46. > :32:16.set. APPLAUSE. Really impressive from

:32:17. > :32:32.McHale. She's 24. Serena is 34. Just think,

:32:33. > :32:36.when she was a young kid, she must have watched Serena win so many

:32:37. > :33:01.Grand Slams. She's blocking that out well.

:33:02. > :33:58.A APPLAUSE. She's 69 miles an hour

:33:59. > :34:02.serves, she backed off a lot. After that winner Serena looking up at the

:34:03. > :34:37.sky, looking extra emotional now. UMPIRE: Advantage Ms McHale. Great

:34:38. > :34:46.resilience. She was down 0-40 in this game.

:34:47. > :35:11.UMPIRE: UMPIRE: net. First service.

:35:12. > :35:21.APPLAUSE. That was close! McHale is challenging.

:35:22. > :35:32.UMPIRE: It was called out. Serena must have thought it was

:35:33. > :35:40.close, because she started walking to the chair. That ball felt like it

:35:41. > :35:43.was in the air for an eternity. UMPIRE: Ms McHale has two challenges

:35:44. > :36:16.remaining. APPLAUSE. McHale targeting the

:36:17. > :36:22.forehand swing and lifting up. UMPIRE: Advantage Ms McHale. Serena

:36:23. > :37:11.had three break points. This is McHale's third game point.

:37:12. > :37:40.APPLAUSE. UMPIRE: Advantage Ms McHale.

:37:41. > :37:55.Well played McHale. Back in front. What a marathon game. Game. McHale

:37:56. > :37:59.coming through it, both players having a lot to think about during

:38:00. > :38:15.this change of ends. We'll be back in a moment.

:38:16. > :38:20.They put on a good show on Court Number Two. A wonderful exhibition

:38:21. > :38:38.of tennis out there. Kuznetsova takes the first set. The

:38:39. > :38:43.Russian has taken it six games to one. One. If you want to watch this

:38:44. > :38:48.match, it's live on the Red Button. And plenty of courts to watch

:38:49. > :38:51.online. Including the defending champion, Novak Djokovic. He is

:38:52. > :38:57.starting his campaign against Sam Querrey. You can watch that on the

:38:58. > :39:06.website. Connected TV or on the BBC Sport app. The weather is good at

:39:07. > :39:12.the moment. Back to Centre Court. The drama of the ladies

:39:13. > :39:16.championships this year. We lost the second seed Garbine Muguruza

:39:17. > :39:25.yesterday, and now the top seed is in trouble.

:39:26. > :39:34.The footwork needs to become a lot more precise.

:39:35. > :39:41.UMPIRE: Ms McHale challenging the call. The ball was called in.

:39:42. > :40:18.Rushing again. APPLAUSE. 119 miles an hour that

:40:19. > :40:55.ace. APPLAUSE. She's such an unusual

:40:56. > :41:07.mistake from Serena, particularly on that backhand side.

:41:08. > :41:16.And, of course, there is always that number 22 in the tennis world

:41:17. > :41:22.looming, when Serena plays in a major this year. And that's the

:41:23. > :41:26.number of Grand Slam titles won by Steffi Graf. Serena stuck on 21 for

:41:27. > :41:36.a year. UMPIRE: Game Ms Williams.

:41:37. > :41:44.The tennis media I think along with Serena probably impatient, feeling

:41:45. > :42:10.stuck at 21. We expect so much from Serena. You can see the pressure.

:42:11. > :42:16.Unhappy with the bounce. Serena certainly hasn't overplayed this

:42:17. > :43:05.year. Gist her 6th event of 2016. Scrambling so well, McHale. Terrific

:43:06. > :43:12.speed around the court. Making Serena play one more shot.

:43:13. > :43:36.Usain Bolt wouldn't have got to that one in time.

:43:37. > :43:45.APPLAUSE. Last year Serena was two points away from losing to Heather

:43:46. > :45:07.Watson. APPLAUSE. The forehand much cleaner.

:45:08. > :45:11.The last time McHale served from this end she was 40-15 up, and she

:45:12. > :45:41.lost the game. CHEERING. She's made it! Incredible!

:45:42. > :45:49.So much credit to McHale. She was on her heels right after the Williams

:45:50. > :47:08.return. Scrambles. Great racket work to find the opening.

:47:09. > :47:29.UMPIRE: Advantage Ms Williams. A physical game. She's defended the

:47:30. > :47:37.power from Williams extremely well. APPLAUSE. A bigger second serve. Up

:47:38. > :48:18.to 92 miles an hour. Felt the need. The tension around this court now is

:48:19. > :48:20.quite extraordinary. Players, support boxes and the crowd in

:48:21. > :49:23.general. An ace! What a time to find that,

:49:24. > :49:34.your third ace of the night. APPLAUSE.

:49:35. > :49:40.Inevitably we've talked a lot about Serena Williams, Tracey, but we have

:49:41. > :49:47.to say Christina McHale I thought when she was blown away in that

:49:48. > :49:51.second set it was all over. She has performed magnificently, despite

:49:52. > :49:57.missing those points to lead 3-0 in the final section. She has dug deep

:49:58. > :50:03.again. Incredible resolve, mental toughness. Someone at 65 in the

:50:04. > :50:08.world, only 17 and 15 for the year. This is not something that we saw

:50:09. > :50:16.coming. She has pushed Serena in the two matches they've played, and both

:50:17. > :50:21.of them have been this year. I certainly didn't expect on this big

:50:22. > :50:29.stage where Serena feels so comfortable, feels like it's her

:50:30. > :50:31.home, McHale has never been past the third round at Wimbledon.

:50:32. > :50:34.UMPIRE: Ladies and gentlemen, please take your seats. Has had tremendous

:50:35. > :51:10.success on this surface. Out! Almost begging it to go out.

:51:11. > :51:39.And it was well out. Definitely pleading.

:51:40. > :52:48.One forehand from Serena was very close at the baseline, but I liked

:52:49. > :52:50.that point from Serena. Built it a little better. Better point

:52:51. > :53:18.construction. Oh! You won't find that... Looks

:53:19. > :53:20.like she is saying, I've never seen her hit that shot before!

:53:21. > :54:52.Improvising extremely well. APPLAUSE. A far from convincing drop

:54:53. > :54:57.shot. Hasn't hit many. This certainly is very high. Plenty of

:54:58. > :54:59.time for McHale, but she's got down the line every time. Williams is

:55:00. > :55:50.reading it well. CHEERING. You will never ever see a

:55:51. > :55:56.better point than that. Unbelievable!

:55:57. > :56:09.CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. CHEERING. The crowd are showing

:56:10. > :56:37.their appreciation. CHEERING. The serve was so slow, 86

:56:38. > :56:39.miles an hour, but Serena didn't move her feet, hit the ball too

:56:40. > :57:09.early. Both a breathing so heavily. APPLAUSE.

:57:10. > :57:15.UMPIRE: Ms McHale challenging the call. And just to add to the drama

:57:16. > :57:25.there's a challenge here. UMPIRE: The ball was called in.

:57:26. > :57:31.UMPIRE: Deuce. That was a clutch play.

:57:32. > :57:38.UMPIRE: Ms McHale has one challenge remaining. McHale jumping around.

:57:39. > :57:59.Serena is taking her time, needs more time to catch her breath.

:58:00. > :00:49.Cool, calm and collected from McHale. A quick first step. Just

:00:50. > :00:54.looking at the smiles of the crowd. What an advertisement this is for

:00:55. > :01:19.women's tennis. Whoever wins it is irrelevant. It's been fabulous.

:01:20. > :01:37.UMPIRE: Advantage Ms Williams. Serve, 83 miles an hour. Return, are

:01:38. > :01:40.83 miles an hour. Four missed first serves in a row. A crucial, crucial

:01:41. > :02:12.stage. UMPIRE: Game Ms Williams. Williams

:02:13. > :02:17.breaks and will serve for the match. This is absolutely mesmerising

:02:18. > :02:20.tennis. A wonderful quality of shot making, and Serena in charge. She'll

:02:21. > :02:28.be coming out to serve for the match. We'll be right back with

:02:29. > :02:36.that. Britain's Tara Moore lost the opening set to Svetlana. 5-1 up.

:02:37. > :02:42.That one is live on the Red Button. Back we go to see Serena serve for

:02:43. > :02:48.the match. Logic would suggest that Serena will now close it out. She

:02:49. > :02:58.has been pushed to the limit. Patrick, this is no time to be

:02:59. > :03:03.looking at your phone. How well she has fought. Just at the clutch

:03:04. > :03:13.moment, the first serve deserted her. That first serve an inopportune

:03:14. > :03:17.time for a couple of double faults. You might expect that from one with

:03:18. > :03:24.so loyal experience playing on the major courts.

:03:25. > :03:51.CHEERING AND APPLAUSE. Against a six-times champion.

:03:52. > :04:51.APPLAUSE. Magnificent serving from Williams. Three match points.

:04:52. > :05:16.Three successive aces brings the champion, who has been tested to the

:05:17. > :05:25.limit, into the third round. Wow! There was a lot of emotion in that

:05:26. > :05:31.match. So many changes of momentum. Looked like Serena had won that

:05:32. > :05:35.first set. McHale dug in. Got a tie-break. A quick second set from

:05:36. > :05:40.Serena. CHEERING. You thought that would be

:05:41. > :05:47.the end of it, but McHale fought so hard. A terrific performance of her

:05:48. > :05:56.life. A standing ovation from 15,000 around the Centre Court. They have

:05:57. > :06:05.seen two-and-a-half hours of high drama and some magnificent tennis.

:06:06. > :06:14.We can all take a big, big breath. In particular the defending

:06:15. > :06:32.champion. I think she's trying to find out if Venus won. She did. Can

:06:33. > :06:37.I have another pen, please? An extraordinary day for the two

:06:38. > :06:44.Williams sisters. Featured in wonderful three-set matches. Both of

:06:45. > :07:04.them have advanced. Whatever the question... Question...

:07:05. > :07:09.Oh, she left her racquet. Is this the racquet she threw away, I

:07:10. > :07:13.wonder? She wanted it back. I think she's going to sign it. That's a

:07:14. > :07:26.lovely gesture. APPLAUSE.

:07:27. > :07:38.Almost speechless at the end of that one. Just those last two games,

:07:39. > :07:42.Serena Williams performed like the great, great champion that she is.

:07:43. > :07:55.And there we are, two-and-a-half hours, Serena Williams wins #w6-7,

:07:56. > :07:58.6-2, 6-5. Serena congratulations. For us watching, that looked very

:07:59. > :08:03.entertaining. How would you describe the match? Yeah, it was a really

:08:04. > :08:08.good match. She splayed great. She always plays great against me, so it

:08:09. > :08:13.was what it was. Just give us a little glimpse into the mental side

:08:14. > :08:18.of things. When you are facing a challenge like that, as you've done

:08:19. > :08:24.so many times before, how do you go about it? I know mentally nobody can

:08:25. > :08:31.break me. It takes a lot to break me. I knew I would have to put my

:08:32. > :08:37.mind in it. That's what I did. Your poor mum having to dash from Court 1

:08:38. > :08:40.to see Venus and then to Centre Court for you. It wasn't easy but it

:08:41. > :08:47.was good. Congratulations. Well done. Thank you. Serena Williams

:08:48. > :08:53.coming through an absolutes classic here on Centre Court. She was pushed

:08:54. > :08:57.to the limit but like all great champions somehow she digs deep and

:08:58. > :09:00.finds a way to win. A magical atmosphere here on Centre Court. The

:09:01. > :09:05.crowd thoroughly enjoying not only the battle but the quality of the

:09:06. > :09:10.tennis. That was a great advertisement for women's tennis

:09:11. > :09:17.woman. A day for the Williams family. Venus winning on No 1 Court

:09:18. > :09:22.and Serena coming through 6-4 in the third. What great champions they

:09:23. > :09:27.both are. We need to get our breath back. I'm with Jim and Tracey. Jim,

:09:28. > :09:33.your reaction to what we've just seen. Spectacular tins. It's been a

:09:34. > :09:38.great day. Del Potro, and this match too. A high, high level. I love to

:09:39. > :09:43.see Serena when she's in warrior mode. She was still in it at the

:09:44. > :09:48.interview. Yes, she had her game face on in the interview. She does

:09:49. > :09:53.find that way to win. Somehow, deaddition so deem. She mentioned

:09:54. > :09:58.her serve. To have the best serve in the history of women's tennisment to

:09:59. > :10:01.know she can always call on that. Last game threeateses. It was such

:10:02. > :10:05.an interesting match, as there were so many different changes of

:10:06. > :10:11.momentum. McHale won that first set but at one point Serena had that set

:10:12. > :10:15.point and it was an overrule by a millimetre. Serena thought she had

:10:16. > :10:21.that first set one. And when she didn't win it... I don't know I've

:10:22. > :10:28.ever seen Serena play an angrier set. She was going big. We've seen

:10:29. > :10:33.angry players before. John McEnroe, he would outburst but then get it

:10:34. > :10:38.back together and be more focused. For McHale to be up 2-0 and 40-15,

:10:39. > :10:43.and double faults, missed that forehand return. That was probably

:10:44. > :10:48.the one point I would put the asterisk on, as Serena was looking

:10:49. > :10:54.shaky. But clutch point for Serena. It reminds me of that match last

:10:55. > :11:01.year when she beat Heather Watson. Ser ser was two points away but won

:11:02. > :11:06.7-5 in the third. Last year it seemed like the crowd were so loud

:11:07. > :11:10.for Heather. This year I felt there was so much tension. But the cheers

:11:11. > :11:18.for the rallies they were producing, it was quality of the tennis wasn't

:11:19. > :11:23.it? Christina can move so well. Serena moves, the power is there.

:11:24. > :11:27.The grounds, the big difference between them from a technical

:11:28. > :11:34.standpoint is the serve. Serena was able to get more out of her serve,

:11:35. > :11:40.but the rallies, it was level pegging and that was good. Christina

:11:41. > :11:48.is a fighter. It was terrific tennis. I can't imagine what it is

:11:49. > :11:53.like tonight in the Williams house, when their mother has to make the

:11:54. > :11:58.dinner. Can you imagine watching tennis like that? Boy! And when she

:11:59. > :12:04.arrived at Serena's match, it was like... It is a long way to Court 1.

:12:05. > :12:10.So much stress. With Serena 34 and Venus 36, their desire is as strong

:12:11. > :12:15.as it ever has been. And it wouldn't have been easy for her to say

:12:16. > :12:18.goodbye, it's been a nice ride a long time ago. But she is

:12:19. > :12:23.passionate, loves it. Steams be feeling well. And for Serena, so

:12:24. > :12:26.much on the line for her historically and she knows that and

:12:27. > :12:38.wants to lay claim to 22 and beyond I'm slaughter in aughter in -- 22

:12:39. > :12:43.and beyond. It would have been interesting if we lost them this

:12:44. > :12:47.early. Serena is through but only just. Reen suss through but only

:12:48. > :12:49.just. We are on Centre Court. Up next it is Britain's number four. He

:12:50. > :13:00.is centre stage against this man. Gather round y'all and listen to me

:13:01. > :13:19.while I do my thing. COMMENTATOR: I don't believe that...

:13:20. > :13:25.Unbelievable. How many times do we say it? Vintage Federer. That was

:13:26. > :13:34.extraordinary. COMMENTATOR: Championship number 7

:13:35. > :13:43.for Roger Federer. What a player really. Yes, Roger Federer faced

:13:44. > :13:49.Marcus Willis a couple of days ago. Now another Brit, number four. He

:13:50. > :13:53.had never won a match before at Wimbledon and beat dolling dolling

:13:54. > :13:59.yesterday. Ling dolling yesterday. -- Dolgopolov yesterday. He never

:14:00. > :14:03.felt that Willis had much of a shock or to push Roger, but Evans has been

:14:04. > :14:07.playing well and he is starting to come into his own. Andy has been

:14:08. > :14:11.such a great role model for him. The professionalism that Andy has

:14:12. > :14:15.brought to the game. It's starting to reverberate. Some of the other

:14:16. > :14:19.Brits are starting to feel it as well.

:14:20. > :14:28.It is a bit like the Marcus Willis factor here. A view years ago Dan

:14:29. > :14:37.Evans was ranked 653. He has recommitted himself, played a lot of

:14:38. > :14:41.Challengers. This is a guy who played Nishikori and tonic in the US

:14:42. > :14:47.Open a view years ago, made the third round. He has recommitted

:14:48. > :14:52.himself and he deserves it, he has put in a lot of hard work of the

:14:53. > :14:55.court. This is obviously a very different test, playing against

:14:56. > :15:00.Roger Federer here on Centre Court, his first time on this court. What a

:15:01. > :15:05.great opportunity to let it all hang out and see what you can do against

:15:06. > :15:14.one of the all-time greats. We all think he's going to lose, though why

:15:15. > :15:17.not just see if he can win. Absolutely, you have to walk out

:15:18. > :15:25.there believing you have a chance, don't you? Absolutely, it's

:15:26. > :15:31.interesting, he had that knee surgery and then he had the bad back

:15:32. > :15:35.as well, Roger. He has played very few tournaments. A couple of grass

:15:36. > :15:39.court tournaments, where he lost Alexander Zverev and he lost to

:15:40. > :15:45.Dominic Thiem. He hasn't had that success and maybe Dan Evans can

:15:46. > :15:51.about that, that Roger Federer hasn't had as many warm-ups as he

:15:52. > :15:55.would normally. He hasn't dubbed as though he's moving as well as he

:15:56. > :15:59.used to. He's been very tentative and cautious in his movement. Of

:16:00. > :16:04.course the grass is a bit more lush in the first week, though that may

:16:05. > :16:08.be part of it. But now we want to see some acceleration from him. He

:16:09. > :16:14.has been really cautious in the quarters of the court. I would love

:16:15. > :16:18.to see the serve picked up a bit. He hasn't been serving as well in this

:16:19. > :16:22.tournament as we saw from him last year, probably because he hasn't got

:16:23. > :16:26.as many wraps this year in match play and on the practice court. You

:16:27. > :16:30.said himself he's not sure where his body is, coming into this

:16:31. > :16:34.tournament. Said he would learn a lot from the first two matches. He

:16:35. > :16:39.hasn't necessarily played his best, but he's yet to drop a set. When we

:16:40. > :16:44.came on air this morning it was 11:30am and we had shots of Dan

:16:45. > :16:50.Evans arriving for his practice session around 10:30am. Now we are

:16:51. > :16:53.finally here! His nerves will be jangling in the locker room, he

:16:54. > :16:58.hasn't played is a big matches on the big stage and his -- he will be

:16:59. > :17:02.tense. There is managing your practice, managing your eating,

:17:03. > :17:07.managing what do you do with all that time? He hasn't had as many

:17:08. > :17:11.opportunities on the big stage. He's raring to go, he's run down the

:17:12. > :17:17.stairs, smiling, going to have a look and savour the atmosphere.

:17:18. > :17:21.Roger let Marcus Walker outburst yesterday and he is doing the same

:17:22. > :17:24.for Dan today. -- let Marcus walk out first.

:17:25. > :17:47.Well, it may be a Centre Court at Wimbledon but I tell you what,

:17:48. > :17:51.there's 20 of Roger Federer fans. There always are! He's been voted

:17:52. > :17:55.the most popular player on the tour around the world for over ten years.

:17:56. > :18:00.He's always going to have his support. It's been rare for him to

:18:01. > :18:04.come onto the court and have the crowd against him, like they were

:18:05. > :18:08.with Marcus Willis and I think they will be today again with Dan Evans.

:18:09. > :18:15.Let's hear from Dan, he's been talking to John Inverdale.

:18:16. > :18:30.COMMENTATOR: What a way to win it! Is a truly convincing display.

:18:31. > :18:34.Another British player goes through to round three, where the Centre

:18:35. > :18:38.Court awaits him and on the other side, Roger Federer. This is a

:18:39. > :18:45.fantastic opportunity for you, isn't it? Yes, it's a tough opportunity,

:18:46. > :18:52.but stranger things have happened. The defending champion is out! There

:18:53. > :18:57.is a chance I can go out there and win, but I understand on the other

:18:58. > :19:02.hand he could come out flying and give me a good seeing to! It's going

:19:03. > :19:06.to be tough and I'm really looking forward to it and I can't wait to

:19:07. > :19:11.go. People talk about this all the time in the context of opportunity

:19:12. > :19:15.is taken and missed and squandered. Do you feel finally that you are on

:19:16. > :19:20.an upward curve and this is the next stage of that? Yes, you know, I

:19:21. > :19:24.would like to think now when I get the opportunity I would give it my

:19:25. > :19:27.best chance of fulfilling it, whereas before I didn't give those

:19:28. > :19:32.opportunities the chance and didn't give myself the best chance. Now I

:19:33. > :19:37.think I am doing that and hopefully give it everything I've got and I

:19:38. > :19:41.will be out there fighting. Can you pinpoint any particular area of your

:19:42. > :19:45.game that is much more solid, much more reliable, much more dynamic,

:19:46. > :19:49.that is making the difference? I think I'm serving a lot better now.

:19:50. > :19:56.My second serve is definitely a lot better. I've been working hard on my

:19:57. > :20:00.movement and my fitness. I'm looking forward to hopefully putting that on

:20:01. > :20:05.the court. What does a match like this mean for the people around you?

:20:06. > :20:13.Your coaching team, your family. It must be a massive boost for them.

:20:14. > :20:17.We're, it's not like we're all going to come to Wimbledon and have a day

:20:18. > :20:21.out because of me, it's serious. I've been given an opportunity and I

:20:22. > :20:25.have to prepare properly like I would for any other match. Get

:20:26. > :20:29.myself mentally ready for it. It will be a big stage. Can you treat

:20:30. > :20:35.it like any other match? It is another match. Obviously it is

:20:36. > :20:39.against probably the greatest player who has ever played tennis, but I

:20:40. > :20:42.have to put that to the back of my head until the end of the match.

:20:43. > :20:46.It's difficult but I will have to do that.

:20:47. > :20:53.He speaks well, doesn't he, Jim? He speaks well and he has quiet

:20:54. > :20:58.confidence. I liked the way he plays a lot. A classic tennis game. Very

:20:59. > :21:02.handy, he was well taught at a young age and he certainly has an

:21:03. > :21:07.appreciation for this moment and where he has got to. If he can just

:21:08. > :21:11.play the ball and not the man on the other side of the net, he will have

:21:12. > :21:16.the chance to play his best tennis. It's still likely not to be good

:21:17. > :21:22.enough, but he will give it a go. We saw it against Marcus Willis, --

:21:23. > :21:27.with Marcus Willis, the first set 6-0, and it's easy to get yourself a

:21:28. > :21:33.long way behind. Obviously it's important for Evans to get settled.

:21:34. > :21:38.It could be a wash-out as well in that kind of man. There's always

:21:39. > :21:43.that worry in the back of your head when you're playing someone who has

:21:44. > :21:47.won here so many times. The start is important, also to settle the

:21:48. > :21:51.nerves. He has a good grass court game, he moves well, he's going to

:21:52. > :21:56.come forward and try and attack. That is the right thing to do, isn't

:21:57. > :22:00.it? It is, he's not going to be able to hang with Roger at the baseline.

:22:01. > :22:05.They hit the ball is similar in terms of speed of shot but Roger

:22:06. > :22:10.spins the ball a lot more. Dan has the try and take his chances and it

:22:11. > :22:13.the ball up the line, try and change direction and really take the attack

:22:14. > :22:19.to Roger and see what happens. He's not going to overpower Roger

:22:20. > :22:26.Federer. Oh! Stand forward a little bit. Luckily it wasn't Raonic at the

:22:27. > :22:29.other end! There is his coach and the Davis Cup captain Leon Smith.

:22:30. > :22:34.They have both helped down tremendously. It is all about

:22:35. > :22:38.belief, it's about knowing that you can go out there and win these

:22:39. > :22:44.matches. For him it's also about staying within a point by point

:22:45. > :22:49.mentality. He needs to keep executing his shots to the best of

:22:50. > :22:52.his ability and if Roger gets hot, don't worry about that. He doesn't

:22:53. > :22:56.really have the weaponry to try to take it out of Roger's hands, he

:22:57. > :23:01.needs to manipulate him and move them around the court and do his

:23:02. > :23:05.very best. If he won the toss, I didn't hear but I would have wanted

:23:06. > :23:10.him to return serve first, get yourself a free swing on Roger's

:23:11. > :23:15.server. You don't want to be broken first game if you are Dan Evans. We

:23:16. > :23:19.were talking about Serena, here is Roger at the age of 34 and still so

:23:20. > :23:25.committed, still puts in so much work, doesn't need to do it by just

:23:26. > :23:30.loves the sport. Absolutely. This guy, at 34, is never happier than

:23:31. > :23:33.when he is on tour. Of course he brings his wife and his four

:23:34. > :23:39.children. I think that's one of the reasons he's been able to play so

:23:40. > :23:44.long and do so well. Roger enjoys everywhere he goes. They are just

:23:45. > :23:48.getting ready to go, so so are we. Jim is making his way to the

:23:49. > :23:51.commentary box to join Andrew Cotter.

:23:52. > :24:03.COMMENTATOR: Yes, what a night in prospect. The chair umpire, Pascal

:24:04. > :24:05.Maria, from France, in the chair. Thank you for joining us with all

:24:06. > :24:20.the sporting viewing options. Here we are and here is Dan Evans,

:24:21. > :24:50.ready to face perhaps the greatest of all time.

:24:51. > :24:54.CHEERING What

:24:55. > :26:13.A bit excited at the end of a long day.

:26:14. > :26:30.Talk about it being searched a long, nervous wait all day for this. --

:26:31. > :26:55.such a long nervous wait. The adrenaline must be coursing

:26:56. > :26:58.through his body at the moment. Well, we saw how important early

:26:59. > :27:05.stages of the first set were for Marcus Willis on his debut on Centre

:27:06. > :27:08.Court facing the same man. Can't tell you how much it would mean for

:27:09. > :27:43.Evans to hold serve here. That is my experience of playing a

:27:44. > :28:00.big match on Centre Court for the first time.

:28:01. > :28:37.It's a good second serve. The first challenge to his serve, break point

:28:38. > :30:14.for the seven times champion. Once again, break point disappears.

:30:15. > :30:15.Federer anxious on both of these break points, snatching at two

:30:16. > :30:32.forehands. Evans will have to escape for a

:30:33. > :30:52.third time. Evans needs to find a couple of good

:30:53. > :31:36.first serves. Well, now, the first double fault

:31:37. > :31:47.brings opportunity number four for Federer.

:31:48. > :32:04.Dan Evans desperately searching for that hold to settle but can't find

:32:05. > :32:09.it. Understandably anxious out there, Evans making a couple of poor

:32:10. > :32:13.choices from a shot selection standpoint. Really could have just

:32:14. > :32:15.sliced a couple of those approached shots on the backhand wing instead

:32:16. > :32:22.of trying to hit over them. Probably just about what we would

:32:23. > :32:33.have expected, given the situation. They follow Roger Federer everywhere

:32:34. > :33:13.he goes. APPLAUSE

:33:14. > :33:28.Is a convincing start on serve from Federer.

:33:29. > :33:36.That is beautiful. First second serve chance and Evans handles it,

:33:37. > :33:57.takes it early and finds the line. Another beautiful return. Evans has

:33:58. > :34:02.been playing his first couple of matches down the line on both wings,

:34:03. > :34:09.forehand and backhand, not playing conservatively. He's been going for

:34:10. > :34:19.it. Federer hits the accelerator and backs up his break. You can

:34:20. > :34:24.understand if after all that waiting, kicking his heels, Dan

:34:25. > :34:26.Evans were blinking in the headlights a bit, but he's not that

:34:27. > :35:30.kind of player or person. You hope it doesn't take that kind

:35:31. > :35:34.of quality just to win a point against Federer, but he produced it

:35:35. > :35:53.beautifully, down the line with both shots.

:35:54. > :35:58.You can be a confident, comfortable person in your own skin, but when

:35:59. > :36:02.you walk into this environment against this person on the other

:36:03. > :36:07.side of the net, you're going to feel something. And it's not going

:36:08. > :36:09.to feel good initially. Most likely an out of body experience for Evans

:36:10. > :36:18.at the moment. How many times has he dreams of

:36:19. > :36:23.playing on Centre Court at Wimbledon? How many times has he

:36:24. > :36:25.watched this layer across the net on this very surface. So it has to be

:36:26. > :36:45.intimidating. -- this layer. Too many double faults already

:36:46. > :37:11.creeping in. That is game. Evans is broken again.

:37:12. > :37:15.A nervy start from Dan Evans on this big stage.

:37:16. > :37:22.STUDIO So, it's all going Federer's way on

:37:23. > :37:26.Centre Court in the early stages of this match. We will be back on

:37:27. > :37:33.Centre Court in a moment, but let's show you what is happening on Court

:37:34. > :37:39.One. Sam Querrey of the United States, set point against Novak

:37:40. > :37:44.Djokovic on the first set tie-break, which he has taken! The defending

:37:45. > :37:48.champion is in trouble on Court Number One. That was a short time

:37:49. > :37:55.ago. You will be able to see this match online. Right now it is going

:37:56. > :38:02.the American's way again. He is 3-1 up and now a point away from going

:38:03. > :38:05.4-1 up against the top seed. There is some rain around and I get the

:38:06. > :38:13.feeling Djokovic would like to see some right now and then regroup.

:38:14. > :38:21.Tara Moore was a break down in this third set but she has fought back.

:38:22. > :38:22.We will keep you up to date with what is happening outside, off we

:38:23. > :38:41.go. Mark Hilton, Dan Evans's coach, on

:38:42. > :38:52.the left, and the Davis Cup captain, Leon Smith.

:38:53. > :39:00.To you feel like you have seen this movie somewhere before?

:39:01. > :39:20.Federer dashing the hopes of Marcus Willis so quickly in that first set

:39:21. > :39:36.the other day. Yes, that was a rapid-fire hold from

:39:37. > :39:42.Federer. Lots of comparisons understandably with the match with

:39:43. > :39:45.Marcus Willis. Dan Evans a different type of player to Marcus Willis. But

:39:46. > :39:57.equally up against it. When you're playing someone of the

:39:58. > :40:01.calibre of Federer as well, you perhaps chased the lines a bit more

:40:02. > :40:08.and think you've got to do a bit extra to win these points.

:40:09. > :40:14.I think the most unexpected thing that could have happened in this

:40:15. > :40:19.match was if Dan Evans was playing normally. You expect him to either

:40:20. > :40:20.play out of his shoes and just have so much adrenaline he is playing

:40:21. > :40:36.incredible. Or he might just start to falter and

:40:37. > :40:40.be a little bit nervous, which is what has happened thus far. But a

:40:41. > :41:27.chance now, 30-15. To settle in. Oh! The SABR is back, the sneak

:41:28. > :41:32.attack by Roger. We saw this last summer. He started doing it in

:41:33. > :41:36.Cincinnati and carried on through with it at the US Open successfully,

:41:37. > :41:43.actually, and then he shelved it this season.

:41:44. > :41:58.CHEERING AND APPLAUSE The cheers echo around Centre Court.

:41:59. > :42:03.And again, talking about the comparisons which have been made,

:42:04. > :42:09.and understandably so, with Marcus Willis, because Dan Evans was way

:42:10. > :42:13.down in the 700s but he'll is a much better player than that and is

:42:14. > :42:17.showing that now. That was a knee injury that precipitated that and

:42:18. > :42:21.gave him his slide, but he has grafted his way back. Once you get

:42:22. > :42:29.down in the rankings, it's hard to get back up there. Playing Futures,

:42:30. > :42:34.and he reached the semifinals of a Challenger Event and then he won

:42:35. > :42:39.eight Challenger Event last summer and that has really catapulted him

:42:40. > :42:41.to where he is now, in this great arena.

:42:42. > :42:46.STUDIO We are going to leave this now and

:42:47. > :42:50.take you straight over to Court Number One, where Novak Djokovic is

:42:51. > :42:54.now down to breaks of serve in the second set to Sam Querrey of the

:42:55. > :42:59.United States. He's lost the first set and now 5-1 down. There is some

:43:00. > :43:07.heavy cloud around, some rain around. Let's join our commentators

:43:08. > :43:10.on Court One, Tim Henman and Andrew Castle.

:43:11. > :43:15.COMMENTATOR: Well, Sue, this has been a real shock. The serving

:43:16. > :43:20.performance from Sam Querrey, number 41 in the world, has been phenom in.

:43:21. > :43:35.One-way traffic in the second set. -- has been phenomenal.

:43:36. > :43:42.The concentration from Novak Djokovic. This man has won 30 Grand

:43:43. > :43:44.Slams singles titles in a row, lost in the French Open final last year

:43:45. > :44:10.to Stan Wawrinka. Up a set, 5-1, 15-15, does not want

:44:11. > :44:17.to be looking up and seeing spots of rain. UMPIRE: Mr Djokovic

:44:18. > :44:24.challenging the call, write far sideline, ball was called in.

:44:25. > :44:27.Djokovic for the last half an hour looking like he wants to be anywhere

:44:28. > :44:37.but on a tennis court. It has caught the outside edge. He is two points

:44:38. > :44:42.away from a two set lead. The fourth ranked player in the United States.

:44:43. > :44:47.Is the rain coming? CHEERING

:44:48. > :44:53.Ace number eight in this match. 51 for the tournament. Came back from

:44:54. > :45:08.two sets down against Lukas Rosol in round one, he feels invincible.

:45:09. > :45:16.Another just huge serve from Sam Querrey, 131, in the corner.

:45:17. > :45:26.Certainly let it fly in these first two sets.

:45:27. > :45:33.CHEERING Extraordinary serving performance

:45:34. > :45:40.but so much more than that besides. Composer... Focus on the task at

:45:41. > :45:46.hand, he is to set up on the two-time defending champion. The

:45:47. > :45:50.invincible Novak Djokovic. I tell you what, if Andy Murray and the

:45:51. > :45:56.rest of the top guys in the draw are looking at this, they are liking

:45:57. > :46:02.what they see. UMPIRE: ladies and gentlemen, play is suspended!

:46:03. > :46:08.Djokovic has had a terrible time. Two minutes past eight, Querrey has

:46:09. > :46:12.wrapped up two sets and who is to say he won't come out tomorrow, if

:46:13. > :46:17.tomorrow indeed it is... He wants just put this one to bed but he'll

:46:18. > :46:21.probably be aware that Djokovic struggled on this very Court against

:46:22. > :46:28.Kevin Anderson last year, worth round, two sets down and out and

:46:29. > :46:34.came back and won it in five sets. -- fourth round. The entire team has

:46:35. > :46:43.a job to do. Djokovic immediately off court. Sam Querrey getting an

:46:44. > :46:49.amazing ovation. He sure is. Wonderful performance. Who would

:46:50. > :46:59.have thought it, late in the day. Djokovic is two sets down! No wonder

:47:00. > :47:02.the family are nervous. SUE BARKER: truly outstanding

:47:03. > :47:05.performance from Sam Querrey, so many seeds going out in this

:47:06. > :47:10.tournament and Novak Djokovic has a lot of work to do, he either has to

:47:11. > :47:15.come back later today or tomorrow to win three sets in a row. What a

:47:16. > :47:21.story brewing on Court Number One. Just before we head back to Centre

:47:22. > :47:25.Court, as everyone scurries to go home... It is looking quite bright

:47:26. > :47:29.over their but that is what is left, the raindrops on the camera lens,

:47:30. > :47:34.rain all around Wimbledon and it's looking grim at the moment. Still

:47:35. > :47:38.playing catch up, a really disappointing week, all week,

:47:39. > :47:43.weather-wise. Heading back to Centre Court in a moment but some

:47:44. > :47:47.results... Tara Moore, the last British woman in the Championships

:47:48. > :47:51.has gone out, a gutsy effort from her against a two-time grand slam

:47:52. > :47:56.winner but she went out 6-3 in the third and final set. What a

:47:57. > :48:01.Wimbledon to remember. She hadn't won a match before this year, got

:48:02. > :48:15.through her opening round and pushed one of the greats. Kuznetsova goes

:48:16. > :48:20.through. John Isner is also through. No surprise, took him three

:48:21. > :48:28.tie-break sets, the first T1 10-8, the second 7-3. Up against Matthew

:48:29. > :48:35.Martin from Australia. Big John goes through and he will face Jo-Wilfried

:48:36. > :48:42.Tsonga in the next round. And what a comeback from Feliciano Lopez. 2-0

:48:43. > :48:43.sets down against Fabio Fognini from Italy, wonderful shotmaking,

:48:44. > :48:50.beautiful rallies right the way through. That error proved costly

:48:51. > :48:58.and Feliciano Lopez goes through, 6-3 in the fifth and final set.

:48:59. > :49:02.Having a bit of trouble with a view its spectators but he had the last

:49:03. > :49:08.word. They are still talking about it. There can only be one winner.

:49:09. > :49:17.Lopez plays Nick Kyrgios in the next round. Under the Centre Court roof,

:49:18. > :49:24.we have Dan Evans. Let's rejoin Jim Courier and Andrew Cotter.

:49:25. > :49:25.COMMENTATOR: The reaction is not quite quick

:49:26. > :50:12.enough. Federer, a good effort in this game.

:50:13. > :50:21.Saving two break points. He has broken Federer and now holds serve.

:50:22. > :50:24.Make Federer think a little bit. Just if you loose ones from Federer.

:50:25. > :50:38.Moving along nicely. For- one down, Evans, probably

:50:39. > :50:43.wondering how long am I going to be out here on Centre Court? Now he has

:50:44. > :50:47.a little bit of interest in this first set, Federer missing a couple

:50:48. > :50:53.of forehands to help it break that serve. Talking about where he was in

:50:54. > :50:58.the rankings and where he is now, there has been so much talk about

:50:59. > :51:04.how he wasn't dedicated, really committed to training and he is now,

:51:05. > :51:08.he realises that and he knew how much support others had given him,

:51:09. > :51:13.his parents, two cultures, the funding he received and didn't

:51:14. > :51:19.receive and then received again... He realises that he was standing on

:51:20. > :51:27.the shoulders of a lot of other people so he works a lot harder now.

:51:28. > :51:35.And he is being rewarded. Because most wise sages say this is the most

:51:36. > :51:36.naturally gifted British men's tennis player, apart from Andy

:51:37. > :52:33.Murray. Still a break down. A stroke of fortune, sometimes even

:52:34. > :52:38.the greatest get them! When you look at the technique of Dan Evans... I

:52:39. > :52:44.cannot help but be impressed by whoever gave him that technique, it

:52:45. > :52:49.is classic, well constructed. He has a lot of options. What he doesn't

:52:50. > :52:51.have a size, which is certainly more and more challenging these days, to

:52:52. > :53:02.be around five feet nine as he is. But he is going to be 80 in the

:53:03. > :53:07.world if he loses this match, that would be a career-high for him. He

:53:08. > :53:15.should live somewhere easily between 50 and 100 in the world, no problem,

:53:16. > :53:23.if he stays healthy and committed. Federer throwing down a couple of

:53:24. > :53:27.races. Actually, the man coaching Dan Evans now, Mark Hylton, not the

:53:28. > :53:34.biggest player, quite talented, just outside the top 200. Beat Albert

:53:35. > :53:36.Costa in the first round here, straight sets, 2004, works well with

:53:37. > :53:56.Evans. As been quite a bit of talk, despite

:53:57. > :53:59.his not being the biggest man, his serve... All his shots seem to have

:54:00. > :54:21.a bit more power about them now. That is gorgeous! Palmer has been

:54:22. > :54:24.commoditised a bit now, most players use rackets, you can generate a lot

:54:25. > :54:27.of pace on the ball and control it with strings that spin the ball more

:54:28. > :54:42.than the gut used to. Speaking of spin... Look at a player

:54:43. > :54:49.that has an immense amount of power in women's tennis, look at Dominika

:54:50. > :54:59.Cibulkova, five feet two, crushes the ball.

:55:00. > :55:14.Nicely done. APPLAUSE

:55:15. > :55:17.The thing, Andrew, you reach... Because everyone hits the ball so

:55:18. > :55:34.hard, length matters, as far as playing defence.

:55:35. > :55:37.Beautifully done by Evans! APPLAUSE

:55:38. > :56:13.Surpassing the best. Again... Double fault comes to

:56:14. > :56:44.visit. Using a shovel to dig that ball out.

:56:45. > :57:28.Setting up a set point for Federer. UMPIRE: Mr Federer challenging the

:57:29. > :57:43.call on the right baseline. The ball was called in. Deuce. Usually very

:57:44. > :57:53.good challenging the calls... What? He is the worst! There is very

:57:54. > :58:04.little he isn't good at but challenging is the worst!

:58:05. > :58:26.He is getting on. His eyes are failing him!

:58:27. > :58:41.Very, very good hold that is from Dan Evans. And he really did look

:58:42. > :58:42.rocky early on, Dan Evans. Just asking the question from Federer, to

:58:43. > :58:54.serve forehead. Testing your cricket knowledge

:58:55. > :59:03.yesterday. Who is that fella there? That is from one captain to another,

:59:04. > :59:09.that is the captain! Alastair Cook? Someone is buzzing you information

:59:10. > :59:18.here! Come on! I am not as dumb as I look, I know it is surprisingly!

:59:19. > :59:21.Getting ready for Pakistan, the first test batch in a couple of

:59:22. > :59:27.weeks time. Jim is looking forward to that. I am. Roger is looking

:59:28. > :59:33.forward to that. Everyone talks about his level having dropped. I am

:59:34. > :59:39.sure it has, he is not at his very best any more but he is still a

:59:40. > :59:42.beautiful player. I thought his semifinal against Andy Murray last

:59:43. > :59:48.year was among the best, the body has been preventing him, this

:59:49. > :00:14.season, from gaining a new momentum, he has missed a lot of time.

:00:15. > :00:37.He had a bad knee injury early in the season, Federer.

:00:38. > :01:20.Couple of months out following the Australian Open.

:01:21. > :01:36.There it is. The seven times champion. Makes the first decisive

:01:37. > :01:47.step in this third-round match. But again... Enough encouraging

:01:48. > :01:55.signs for Dan Evans. In the latter stages of that set. It was a nervy

:01:56. > :02:01.start and understandably. As far as losing a set goes, that is a very

:02:02. > :02:05.positive loss for Dan Evans, a lot of encouragement from him to take

:02:06. > :02:08.from that set. He showed he could break the Federer serve, something

:02:09. > :02:15.that no one else has been able to do. Look at the statistics. Evans...

:02:16. > :02:21.Doing some good damage on the second serve of Roger Federer. Federer not

:02:22. > :02:25.seeing too many of them. 80% first serves in play. Evans will need to

:02:26. > :02:28.lift but I think it should, the nerves should be out of him, he

:02:29. > :02:40.should feel a freedom on his serve. The Centre Court crowd continues to

:02:41. > :02:58.swell to capacity. Federer senior, bottom left. And Roger Federer's

:02:59. > :03:03.mother appearing there... Good that she has unlimited data, she works

:03:04. > :03:12.that phone during these matches, probably checking that the kids are

:03:13. > :03:18.OK. Stefan Edberg no longer the Federer coach, that he learned, was

:03:19. > :03:22.only supposed to be for a year. Ivan Ljubicic... A top five player. In

:03:23. > :03:37.his camp. Ivan Ljubicic did a super job when

:03:38. > :03:42.he was working with the big serving Canadian...

:03:43. > :03:50.Milos Raonic. And he left Raonic at the end of the season to go with

:03:51. > :03:55.Federer and that must be frustrating for Ljubicic there, in the great

:03:56. > :04:03.top, they haven't been on tour very much because of injuries. A lovely

:04:04. > :04:15.start to this second set for Dan Evans.

:04:16. > :04:41.And Federer takes the very first attempt and the whole get steeper

:04:42. > :04:53.for Dan Evans. All the plans and designs, you will

:04:54. > :04:57.imagine how it is going to go when you wait so long to get on court,

:04:58. > :05:01.your first appearance on Centre Court, playing Roger Federer. None

:05:02. > :05:08.of those plans go like this. He has competed well. A set down and now a

:05:09. > :05:11.break down. Unfortunately, Federer's game is feeling pretty comfortable

:05:12. > :05:15.in the early goings in the second set, he did not miss a serve in that

:05:16. > :05:50.game and did not get a point. At this stage in mumbled, 2015,

:05:51. > :05:58.Roger Federer had played 44 matches, he had one four titles. -- in

:05:59. > :06:10.mumbled. At this time, he has played 24 matches and no titles.

:06:11. > :06:17.His level looked good in Australia before he had the accident in the

:06:18. > :06:21.bathroom, he slipped and fell and that led to knee surgery. He was

:06:22. > :06:42.running a bath for his young daughters...

:06:43. > :06:48.First point going the way of evidence in this second set. --

:06:49. > :07:11.going the way of Evans. The last Grand Slam was the batch

:07:12. > :07:15.microbus title back in 2012, looking to be the first man to win eight

:07:16. > :07:17.Wimbledon titles, he would also be the oldest man in the Open era to

:07:18. > :07:39.win Wimbledon. Should Federer get through this

:07:40. > :07:43.match, as it looks likely to be the case, he will walk off this court

:07:44. > :07:45.and probably be very surprised to see what has been happening on Court

:07:46. > :08:02.Number One was Novak Djokovic. Dan Evans just finding himself in a

:08:03. > :08:06.bit of a trough at the moment. Federer is in the Djokovic half... A

:08:07. > :08:13.lot of danger still lurking in the straw, should Djokovic finally lose

:08:14. > :08:15.to Querrey. He is down by two sets. But that would be a big opening for

:08:16. > :08:36.this man... And for everyone else in the draw.

:08:37. > :08:49.Lost in a befuddled world at the moment. Trying to find something.

:08:50. > :09:09.Even the best can look rather foolish at times.

:09:10. > :09:21.Federer with a double break in the second set. It is incredible. Evans

:09:22. > :09:29.has missed but one first serve in this set, Federer is locked in on

:09:30. > :09:33.those returns. And if that Djokovic match continues to go that way... It

:09:34. > :09:39.will leave things wide open but Evans is not giving up yet. When you

:09:40. > :09:42.are out there, you have to try and fix things yourself. He certainly

:09:43. > :09:49.has the game but at the moment, it's difficult to see a way back into it

:09:50. > :09:52.for him. Yes... He is not the first player to walk onto the court

:09:53. > :09:56.against Roger Federer and realise there is not one thing that you do

:09:57. > :09:59.that is better than Roger Federer on the tennis court. First serves in,

:10:00. > :10:16.better statistic, yet to hold serve. Whatever happens here... Even if he

:10:17. > :10:25.loses, he is up to 72 in the world, great progress. Small consolation to

:10:26. > :11:04.him at the moment, he wants much more.

:11:05. > :12:30.Was that going wide anyway? Now a chance again for Evans. Jackie

:12:31. > :12:57.Stewart amongst those watching on. Break point.

:12:58. > :13:01.Again, I stress the enormity of breaking Federer, hasn't happened in

:13:02. > :13:30.his first two matches this year. Chasing those lines, the first was

:13:31. > :13:37.good, the second, just wide. What a shame. Federer. After the forehand

:13:38. > :13:40.and the rally... Evans trying to squeeze a little too close to the

:13:41. > :14:01.line, he didn't need to. The court was wide open.

:14:02. > :14:09.Federer maintains his iron grip. Again, if you are looking for

:14:10. > :14:11.optimism from a British point of view... Evans is creating some

:14:12. > :14:45.chances. Federer is playing with the freedom

:14:46. > :14:49.of the scoreboard right now, just taking some chances. Literally half

:14:50. > :16:26.volleying that return of serve. Double fault. Double fault number 64

:16:27. > :16:54.Dan Evans. Watch the quick footwork here, the

:16:55. > :16:58.little tiny steps. That allowed him the chance to get his weight moving

:16:59. > :17:22.in the right direction. Beautifully done.

:17:23. > :18:08.The applause rings around Centre Court. The Game four Dan Evans but

:18:09. > :18:18.my goodness it's hard work. STUDIO

:18:19. > :18:25.And Dan gets on the scoreboard in that second set. 4-1 Federer leads.

:18:26. > :18:29.We will be back there in a moment. Nice evening out there. What a shame

:18:30. > :18:33.we didn't have that earlier. The rainbow in the distance, down

:18:34. > :18:39.towards Court Number One. A shame so many of the players have now gone

:18:40. > :18:43.home. If you are shooting in for Today At Wimbledon, we will stay

:18:44. > :18:47.life with the tennis on Centre Court. I can update you with the

:18:48. > :18:51.stories of the day. It started on Centre Court with the number four

:18:52. > :19:00.seed Dan Wawrinka going out to Juan Martin del Potro. Welcome back to

:19:01. > :19:04.Centre Court. He has missed the night -- last nine Grand Slams, he

:19:05. > :19:07.has had three wrist surgeries, and you always wonder whether he would

:19:08. > :19:12.be able to play on the big stage again. He has played a wonderful

:19:13. > :19:17.match, one of the most emotional matches, to beat Stan Wawrinka.

:19:18. > :19:21.Absolutely quality match on Centre Court to start the day. Venus

:19:22. > :19:26.Williams was taken to 10-8 in the third and final set by the

:19:27. > :19:31.19-year-old from Russia Daria Kasatkina. She had a match point

:19:32. > :19:36.earlier in the set and had to really battle hard, but like all great

:19:37. > :19:42.champions, and she has won this title is many times, she found a way

:19:43. > :19:46.to win. And her younger sister had an equally hard battle out on Centre

:19:47. > :19:52.Court against Christina McHale. That's what it meant to Serena. She

:19:53. > :19:57.was so close to going out, just as she was against Heather Watson last

:19:58. > :20:01.year, but she dug deep and the last two games she just raised the level

:20:02. > :20:06.of play like she does on these big occasions. She stays on course for

:20:07. > :20:15.winning her 22nd Grand Slam singles title. Serena and Venus taken to the

:20:16. > :20:18.brink, but both coming through. And possibly the biggest story of the

:20:19. > :20:24.day is unfolding on Court Number One, where Sam Querrey served out

:20:25. > :20:29.that ace to take the second set and a 2-0 lead against the defending

:20:30. > :20:34.champion and world number one, Novak Djokovic, who holds all four ran

:20:35. > :20:38.slam titles. That is when the rain came down. They are off court and

:20:39. > :20:43.they will be back tomorrow, what I don't think Novak will sleep too

:20:44. > :20:48.well tonight. He needs to come back and win all three sets tomorrow.

:20:49. > :20:53.Federer is on a charge because he has already just won his service

:20:54. > :20:57.game, so we are heading back. 5-1 and Dan will be serving in a moment.

:20:58. > :21:02.Let's rejoin Centre Court. COMMENTATOR: A very, very quick

:21:03. > :21:07.service game from Roger Federer. At the last change of ends, Dan Evans

:21:08. > :21:09.wore a rather haunted look. This was the closing out of the last service

:21:10. > :21:28.game. He has done it before to many, many

:21:29. > :21:33.very good tennis players. Dan Evans now will have to serve to try to

:21:34. > :22:18.stay in this second set. Right to the corner, from Federer.

:22:19. > :22:22.He has been attacking with his footwork, going up to the service

:22:23. > :22:33.line. That time running around to hit the forehand.

:22:34. > :23:01.APPLAUSE So much goodwill in here for Evans,

:23:02. > :23:15.urging him to try to take something from this match.

:23:16. > :23:49.Oh! APPLAUSE

:23:50. > :23:56.Good hold by Evans. He's getting rapturous applause.

:23:57. > :24:03.A couple of other numbers for you. Federer has only twice lost before

:24:04. > :24:11.the last 16 in his last 47 Grand Slam appearances. Federer also

:24:12. > :24:15.looking to close the gap on Martina Navratilova for the most Grand Slam

:24:16. > :24:21.singles wins by a man or woman. If he wins here come he draws level

:24:22. > :24:28.with Navratilova, 306. That's incredible.

:24:29. > :24:35.Want to stay in numbers for a second? Yes, please. Dan Evans is

:24:36. > :24:39.actually hitting the ball harder than Roger Federer on the forehand

:24:40. > :24:50.and backhand, on average. But Federer is just unscathed, he moves

:24:51. > :24:55.the around the court so well. And he spins the ball more than Evans, so

:24:56. > :25:01.he can get the ball up and down, off the court much easier than Dan can.

:25:02. > :25:05.But it's not a power gap here. Well, Evans has had one break of the

:25:06. > :25:07.Federer serve. He's come close on another occasion and he has to do so

:25:08. > :25:36.again. APPLAUSE

:25:37. > :26:27.Ace number seven. Too square and now Federer has two

:26:28. > :26:57.points for a two sets to love lead. Well, one of them saved well off the

:26:58. > :27:29.big kicking serve. 34, closing in on 35, Roger Federer.

:27:30. > :27:38.But his powers do seem reasonably undiminished. Two years ago he set

:27:39. > :27:42.this Olympic year as a target. He was suffering from back injury but

:27:43. > :27:47.wasn't talking too much about it. People were already thinking time

:27:48. > :27:52.was catching up with Federer. That is one of the things he hasn't won,

:27:53. > :28:03.the Olympic singles gold. He has won the doubles, with Wawrinka in 2008.

:28:04. > :28:07.If you want to see part of his personality, look at his celebration

:28:08. > :28:12.in the doubles. It is classic Federer, he put his fingers up like,

:28:13. > :28:17.Wawrinka is on fire! Such a nice look into the nature of that error

:28:18. > :28:22.that you don't get to see a lot of. He really is quite playful. Roger

:28:23. > :28:31.banners and flags and scarves seem slightly more permanent than the Dan

:28:32. > :28:39.Evans once! You reckon? That is good work, he's made it vaguely 3-D. That

:28:40. > :28:50.is good pixelation. Appreciate that. Those fans will have travelled the

:28:51. > :28:54.world. Roger is fighting on two fronts too. He's fighting not only

:28:55. > :29:00.the opposition and what Djokovic has been doing, but also time. Doing so

:29:01. > :29:05.well to play the level he has, at this age, the amount of matches he's

:29:06. > :29:09.played and the miles he's travelled, it's amazing and testament to his

:29:10. > :29:14.great natural skill and also the relaxed manner in which he plays

:29:15. > :29:18.tennis, which takes so little out of his body compared to say the other

:29:19. > :29:21.extreme, Rafael Nadal, who seems much older even though he is about

:29:22. > :29:27.five years younger than Roger Federer. Evans is back from his

:29:28. > :29:33.rate. A fuse screams for a seminaked Roger Federer, always exciting! A

:29:34. > :29:43.few injuries have started to creep in and he has had a nickel with his

:29:44. > :29:49.back. His body can't last forever, but it's amazing how well it has

:29:50. > :29:56.held up. The knee operation was the first time he has had any operation

:29:57. > :30:00.on his body in his career. Tennis is brutal on the body. It is, but the

:30:01. > :30:07.way he plays diminishes the brutality. He is so smooth on the

:30:08. > :30:18.court. He rarely seems to strain and you watch him in slow motion. He

:30:19. > :30:25.just seems so relaxed, like a sprinter in the Olympics going down

:30:26. > :30:28.the hundred metre track just angling and relaxed, that is Roger Federer

:30:29. > :30:33.at all times on a tennis court. Let's see what Dan Evans can offer

:30:34. > :30:39.in this third set, serving to get us under way.

:30:40. > :31:46.It would mean so much to him to just get his nose in front in a set.

:31:47. > :31:55.That is the type of shot that a little more size would aid Dan

:31:56. > :32:00.Evans. He just can't quite get out and cover that winning the way that

:32:01. > :32:07.Federer can. He is five foot nine and Federer six foot one.

:32:08. > :33:35.Well, he had to work so hard to win that point. He is in front in this

:33:36. > :33:52.third set. Just a hold of serve but it looks a

:33:53. > :34:05.lot better from Dan Evans's point of view to have that game up there. It

:34:06. > :34:12.took some high-calibre tennis to get it done. That is spectacular, that

:34:13. > :34:14.forehand down the line. Good news, he did it. Bad news, he needed to,

:34:15. > :34:59.to win the game. Thinking about it, but just a look

:35:00. > :35:36.to Pascal Maria for confirmation is enough to dissuade him.

:35:37. > :35:46.A rare mistake from Federer. These tiny opportunities have to be built

:35:47. > :36:19.upon. Taking Federer 230 his serve. Opportunity lost, there, for Evans.

:36:20. > :36:26.A second serve at 15-30. And it was a quality one at 97 mph, but he just

:36:27. > :36:36.put it right in the centre of the court and it begged to be hit.

:36:37. > :36:40.Federer said sure, I will do that. 15-30 on his serve at this stage of

:36:41. > :36:45.the match, arguable he should be going for a winner at that point.

:36:46. > :36:52.Probably the easiest shot he will get.

:36:53. > :37:04.You just get the impression whoever Dan Evans plays, whether it is an a

:37:05. > :37:10.Futures match or Centre Court against Roger Federer, he believes

:37:11. > :37:12.he should win, but the reality... Have you got a pipeline to this guy?

:37:13. > :37:30.You know a lot about him! Oh! This ball stays tight to the

:37:31. > :37:37.net. What is your deal with Dan Evans? Let's break this down. What

:37:38. > :37:43.is my deal, in general? I have studied him for sometime...

:37:44. > :37:47.That sounded a bit creepier than it was meant to! Your words, my

:37:48. > :38:04.thoughts. You think he walked court believing

:38:05. > :39:14.he was going to win this match? Yes. The clench of the fist from Evans.

:39:15. > :39:16.My goodness, the effort it takes to win every single point. And he is

:39:17. > :39:52.ever the perfectionist. Oh! Brilliant forehand from Federer.

:39:53. > :40:02.To bring up break point again. Generated off a bit of a standstill.

:40:03. > :40:13.Self-preservation from Dan Evans! He will take it in any manner possible.

:40:14. > :40:18.The forehand from the last point from Federer was 99 mph. This one

:40:19. > :40:21.didn't have that much on it but it must have felt like it at close

:40:22. > :40:24.quarters for Dan Evans. Let's watch how close this is to his head. Oh

:40:25. > :40:38.man. Once more Federer opens the door.

:40:39. > :40:57.Break point. And he has it. Federer two sets to

:40:58. > :41:06.the good and a break up. Cruising along.

:41:07. > :41:17.That is how it looks on the scoreboard. Let's have a look at

:41:18. > :41:22.backhands, for comparison. Certainly when Dan Evans's works, it is

:41:23. > :41:29.beautiful. Federer, everything he does on a tennis court is beautiful.

:41:30. > :41:32.By the way, these are virtually identical, technically speaking.

:41:33. > :41:37.Roger Federer's wrist dropping a bit more but that is more a cause of

:41:38. > :41:41.where the height is. Beautiful technique from these players. Evans,

:41:42. > :41:49.full extension, with his left arm drifting backwards. But kudos to the

:41:50. > :41:54.instructors who develop them. Where were they when my back and was being

:41:55. > :42:01.developed? You were also a beautiful player, Jim. That also comes off as

:42:02. > :42:07.creepy! It's a beautiful evening. We forget what it's like in the world

:42:08. > :42:10.outside our view on Centre Court, the Wembley arch in north-west

:42:11. > :42:49.London. And Federer with the break. He is a relentless machine. I see

:42:50. > :42:52.the Federer bear there, shouldn't it be a goat? We will get into a

:42:53. > :43:20.greatest of all time discussion... He finds his rhythm. A couple of

:43:21. > :43:36.aces in there. An touch of. -- untouchables. Rattling through

:43:37. > :43:40.the games as well. And now and 18 minutes and Federer closing in on

:43:41. > :43:42.the finish line. That service game under a minute for Federer. -- and

:43:43. > :44:38.hour and 18 minutes. Trying to breathe life into Evans.

:44:39. > :45:15.It's a messy game. Two double faults thrown in there.

:45:16. > :45:31.Too strong from Federer. Dan Evans is fading. A mightily impressive

:45:32. > :45:34.performance from Federer. You hope from Evans, who is starting his

:45:35. > :45:39.career again, having dedicated himself and getting fitter and

:45:40. > :45:43.stronger, because he has the talent. You can almost look at this, even

:45:44. > :45:49.though he is 26, as a match for a 20-year-old. He will be learning so

:45:50. > :45:54.much. It won't seem like that now at all, but he will hopefully go on and

:45:55. > :45:58.continue his climb up the rankings. With that new ranking in the low 70s

:45:59. > :46:03.at the end of this tournament with the loss here, he'll have many more

:46:04. > :46:09.chances to grow that ranking, with tournaments that have more points in

:46:10. > :46:16.them. He's been playing all the challengers where you grind away to

:46:17. > :46:20.gain entry to the 100. He can really make some hay. Get that ranking up

:46:21. > :46:25.to around 50 in the world where you get into everything and become a

:46:26. > :46:29.tour player as opposed to one who just gets to visit from time to

:46:30. > :46:33.time. Surrounded by friends and family and thousands here and

:46:34. > :46:35.millions watching. But it is a lonely place for Dan Evans at the

:46:36. > :47:22.moment. Federer 4-1. The crowd disagreed, but Evans knew

:47:23. > :47:56.it was wide. APPLAUSE. Another hold to love for

:47:57. > :48:12.Federer. Loitering towards the finish.

:48:13. > :49:23.There is another game up there. UMPIRE: New balls, please.

:49:24. > :49:32.You said yourself you had been in that position where you suddenly

:49:33. > :49:37.found yourself, young, but in terms of this experience on the big stage,

:49:38. > :49:42.you find yourself just a little bit caught in the headlights. You can

:49:43. > :49:45.find yourself looking across the net and think, wow, that's Roger Federer

:49:46. > :49:51.over there, and forgetting that you have to play the ball. No matter who

:49:52. > :49:55.Roger Federer is, the ball still comes your side of the net and asks

:49:56. > :50:00.to be hit. You have to deal with that, but it is tough. It is not

:50:01. > :50:04.just Roger Federer but this magnificent court that you never get

:50:05. > :50:10.to practise in. The aura of this building is also another opponent.

:50:11. > :51:07.And never seems to look too ruffled or troubled Federer, for the match.

:51:08. > :51:38.APPLAUSE. That's a beautiful part for Federer.

:51:39. > :51:48.CHEERING. The cheers and cries bring us to Match Point. Victory for Roger

:51:49. > :51:54.Federer in emphatic fashion. He's done it before, he'll do it again to

:51:55. > :52:00.so many players. A smile from Dan Evans.

:52:01. > :52:05.CHEERING. It was a home match for Dan Evans, but this remains

:52:06. > :52:12.Federer's house. Federer looking solid. Getting better throughout the

:52:13. > :52:20.course of this match. He'll be the lone player to get tomorrow off and

:52:21. > :52:26.get two days rest into the second week, Federer, but for Dan Evans,

:52:27. > :52:32.he's played the great man on the great Court and that's a very strong

:52:33. > :52:40.achievement in itself. No shame in that.

:52:41. > :52:45.CHEERING. Against Roger Federer, the clash between the two. He can take

:52:46. > :52:49.great pride in what he's done at Wimbledon. Hopefully he'll go on to

:52:50. > :53:04.better things, but Federer rumbles on and looks so, so strong.

:53:05. > :53:29.He won't know what's happening before this stops and Djokovic

:53:30. > :53:34.really up against it against Sam Querrey. He hasn't won a Grand Slam

:53:35. > :53:38.title since Wimbledon 2012. Do you think he fancies his chances?

:53:39. > :53:42.They'll like him a lot more if Sam Querrey can come through and knock

:53:43. > :53:47.out the defending champion. It's still a long road ahead. He was

:53:48. > :53:52.broken at one point but another straight sets victory for Roger

:53:53. > :53:57.Federer. Against Dan Evans. Let's get the thoughts of the number three

:53:58. > :54:02.seed now. Roger, congratulations. How comfortable was that win today

:54:03. > :54:06.over Dan Evans? Well, I got a good start in all three sets, which helps

:54:07. > :54:10.a lot. Then you can always play a bit for freely. He was under

:54:11. > :54:16.pressure. He didn't get many free points off his own serve, and on

:54:17. > :54:22.grass it's what he has to look for. I was able to get back a lot of

:54:23. > :54:27.balls and in an aggressive position after that. He was always going to

:54:28. > :54:33.struggle on his own serve when that happened. I was pleased with how I

:54:34. > :54:36.played. You are single-handedly dismissing the players and there is

:54:37. > :54:42.only one left now, Andy Murray. And he is far away in a draw, so I won't

:54:43. > :54:45.be playing him for a while. It's been fun playing against Marcus and

:54:46. > :54:51.Dan. They are talented and good players. I wish them well for the

:54:52. > :54:56.future. I didn't do the draw, but it is always a pleasure playing against

:54:57. > :55:01.local guys in their tournament and at Wimbledon it is always a

:55:02. > :55:05.pleasure. Well done. Thank you. It is always a pleasure to see Roger

:55:06. > :55:13.Federer on Centre Court. The court he so loves, and coming through very

:55:14. > :55:20.impressively indeed. 6-4, 6-2, 6-2. He's put away Marcus Willis, and now

:55:21. > :55:25.everybody Evans. He will play either Grigor Dimitrov or Johnson. So many

:55:26. > :55:28.fans follow him, support him. Such a popular player everywhere he plays.

:55:29. > :55:33.The Centre Court rises to the great champion once again as he is through

:55:34. > :55:38.to the fourth round. Tim is with me. Dan did OK. He had some rallies with

:55:39. > :55:45.him, but just a step up in class wasn't it? It certainly was. We've

:55:46. > :55:50.seen these matches and it's been British players, James Ward against

:55:51. > :55:54.Djokovic, and Marcus Willis and Dan today, it is so important to

:55:55. > :55:58.establish yourself early on. If you can hold in the first set it gives

:55:59. > :56:02.an opportunity to settle down. That never really happened for any of

:56:03. > :56:09.them. They were always behind. It is hard enough in any match playing

:56:10. > :56:12.watch-up, let alone against Novak Djokovic or Roger Federer. Once he

:56:13. > :56:15.got going, he played good tennis. It's been a really good tournament

:56:16. > :56:21.for him. It is important he continues to build on this. We are

:56:22. > :56:24.hearing in the last few minutes it's been confirmed officially there will

:56:25. > :56:27.be Sunday play, the first time they've played on the middle Sunday

:56:28. > :56:32.since 2004. Why was that decision made? It was pretty straightforward

:56:33. > :56:42.actually. We are here on Friday night and we've still got second

:56:43. > :56:47.round matches. We've got the Sverev match in the men's and Kvitova in

:56:48. > :56:51.the ladies. If we weren't to play on Sunday you would have the scenario

:56:52. > :56:57.where on the women's side they would be playing third round matches on

:56:58. > :57:02.Monday. They would have to play fourth round on Wednesday.

:57:03. > :57:06.Quarterfinals on Thursday... It ended up from the tournament's point

:57:07. > :57:10.of view, our hand was slightly forced. It is a good decision. It

:57:11. > :57:14.has only happen three times in the history of the tournament. There are

:57:15. > :57:18.a few logistical issues behind the scenes, but for the fans it's a

:57:19. > :57:21.great day. Have to cancel Ly my Sunday lunch. They will start

:57:22. > :57:26.queuing, because it was such a special day. You played on one? It's

:57:27. > :57:30.an important point. This needs to be organised by the IT department, but

:57:31. > :57:33.it is always going to be online, so they don't want people coming,

:57:34. > :57:36.queuing. That's why they have had to buy themselves a little bit of time.

:57:37. > :57:41.For the tickets I think they are looking at about 20,000 or so. The

:57:42. > :57:47.announcement will be made at 1 o'clock as to how that whole process

:57:48. > :57:52.will take place. There is... They don't want people running down here

:57:53. > :57:56.to queue, it won't help you, so don't do it. Logistically how

:57:57. > :58:00.difficult is it to get the club up and running? You and I were looking

:58:01. > :58:04.forward to a day off 2014; but whether it's the security or the

:58:05. > :58:08.court coverers or the executives that are working behind the scenes,

:58:09. > :58:12.there are so many people. It is very, very difficult, but it is a

:58:13. > :58:15.fantastic opportunity. We know how difficult it is to get a ticket to

:58:16. > :58:20.come and watch this tournament. This is an opportunity for the fans to

:58:21. > :58:25.hopefully get their chance when they apply online. We do hope there is

:58:26. > :58:28.going to be better weather. It is always a magical day. Stay here

:58:29. > :58:34.because we've got a few minutes left. We are going to a story

:58:35. > :58:38.brewing on Court 1. It peoples the defending champion, holder of all

:58:39. > :58:42.Grand Slam titles, Novak Djokovic. He was up against Sam Querrey of the

:58:43. > :58:45.United States, known for his big serve. We join it at the start of

:58:46. > :59:27.the first set tie-break. Out! Both players have played two

:59:28. > :59:33.tie-breaks this their two matches each so far. Sam Querrey lost to

:59:34. > :59:49.Rosol. It was certainly one of the better

:59:50. > :59:54.natural arms out there on tour isn't it. It helps when you are 6 foot 6

:59:55. > :00:17.as well. It will be slightly depressing if

:00:18. > :00:20.you play the best returner in the world, only lose four points in the

:00:21. > :00:31.whole set and lose it 7-6. Oh, yes, what class on the backhand

:00:32. > :00:48.side! That's a mini break. This had to be so accurate. He was

:00:49. > :00:52.pulled way out wide, Querrey. That backhand showing such great control.

:00:53. > :01:01.The world number one, the defending champion here, in a bit of trouble.

:01:02. > :01:38.Querrey now 3-2. Just two tie-breaks lost all year,

:01:39. > :01:41.Novak Djokovic. He's won 14 of them. Sam Querrey also with a winning

:01:42. > :02:14.record of 14 and 11. Oh yes. Excellent return, but what a

:02:15. > :02:20.shot in the corner again. Absolutely no fear of the situation so far, Sam

:02:21. > :02:25.Querrey. He's held his two points. One of these next two against the

:02:26. > :02:33.Djokovic serve and he really is in the driving seat.

:02:34. > :02:45.Oh, he's missed it! That's a massive miss. Novak doing a Boris there.

:02:46. > :02:50.Querrey should have made it. Herbal should have made it. I thought at

:02:51. > :02:54.one stage whether he would go straight down the middle at

:02:55. > :02:56.Djokovic, but Djokovic moved to his right and Querrey overplayed the

:02:57. > :03:21.passing shot. Now then. Doesn't want to do

:03:22. > :03:30.anything other than just keep serving really well here. Prefer not

:03:31. > :03:37.to have a rally off you, Sam. Two pretty wild forehand misses.

:03:38. > :04:09.Credit where credit's due. Not scared to pull the trigger even

:04:10. > :04:26.after those forehand errors. I don't believe it. How many times

:04:27. > :04:32.have we seen this man do that? The return was extraordinary. This was

:04:33. > :04:37.131 mile an hour serve. Belted it. Got to this position, even here

:04:38. > :04:41.you're thinking, can he do this? And yes he can. What a return of serve

:04:42. > :05:07.that was. Extraordinary isn't it? 5-2 up. Had

:05:08. > :05:18.a chance for a forehand pass that he would make at least 99 times out of

:05:19. > :05:24.100. That was at 5-3 wasn't it? 5-3. A phenomenal return. That set point

:05:25. > :06:11.off a brilliant first serve. 6-6,-. Smart play. Just get in. Can you

:06:12. > :06:32.pass me? Hit another one. Another set point, on his serve.

:06:33. > :06:41.CHEERING. That is a fantastic set of sevenis. A real shock brewing here

:06:42. > :06:44.on Court 1 at the end of the day. STUDIO: Indeed. The world number one

:06:45. > :06:50.in drearily. That continued in the second set as we join it, he's

:06:51. > :07:03.already down a break of serve. It is 4-1 to Querrey. Djokovic to serve.

:07:04. > :07:11.Djokovic is not going say not interested, but not engaged. He is

:07:12. > :07:16.struggling to get up. He's in shock at how well Querrey has played. He's

:07:17. > :07:21.waiting for the level to come down and it's not happening. He is

:07:22. > :07:29.definitely not there at all. I wouldn't be surprised if Querrey

:07:30. > :07:31.nicks two sets here. Looks that way. Goodness knows what he will say

:07:32. > :07:47.overnight. Querrey could finish it. This is really peculiar. Just not

:07:48. > :07:48.there at all this, great player. He is almost not being allowed to be

:07:49. > :08:06.there. A couple of big serves. It must be one of the demands being

:08:07. > :08:09.at the very top of the game and to be at the centre of attention like

:08:10. > :08:12.Djokovic is the whole time, you are going to get flat times and he is

:08:13. > :09:00.flat right now. Nothing working for Djokovic. Just

:09:01. > :09:03.one game later that big serve again delivers an ace, and that puts

:09:04. > :09:09.Querrey two sets to love up against the world number one. The man who

:09:10. > :09:13.looked unbeatable in the Grand Slams over the past 12 months. A huge

:09:14. > :09:16.shock brewing on Court 1. One thing Querrey didn't want was the rain to

:09:17. > :09:20.come down that the point, but it did. That's when play was suspended

:09:21. > :09:26.and Djokovic has at least tonight to regroup and think how he's going to

:09:27. > :09:32.find a way to win. Querrey is two sets to love up. Tim is with me.

:09:33. > :09:38.Tim, what a shock and what a surprise, to see the way Djokovic

:09:39. > :09:42.was playing. Very much so. The first set Querrey dominated even though

:09:43. > :09:46.the score line was-. Only lost four points on his serve in the whole

:09:47. > :09:50.set. In the early part of the second set it was almost like Djokovic was

:09:51. > :09:55.shellshocked. Didn't know what he could do to have any impact. Querrey

:09:56. > :10:00.really maintained his level. You saw that service game at 4-1. Djokovic

:10:01. > :10:05.looked like he was almost disinterested. He isn't, because

:10:06. > :10:10.he's the world number one and on an amazing streak in the Grand Slams.

:10:11. > :10:15.But down two sets to love he would have been happy to have the break

:10:16. > :10:21.and talk to his team overnight. He was happy to draw on last year's

:10:22. > :10:25.experience, against Anderson, a big-serving South African, and he

:10:26. > :10:31.was able to turn that around and win three sets in a row. You have to

:10:32. > :10:38.say, where did that come from from Querrey. Andrew Castle and I weren't

:10:39. > :10:42.expecting that. Before we round up some of the other big stories of the

:10:43. > :10:48.day, we are start with Venus Williams, the five time champion was

:10:49. > :10:55.on Court 1. She was taken the distance by a 19-year-old from

:10:56. > :11:00.Russia, Daria Kasatkina. She came through. But it was her second

:11:01. > :11:06.three-set battle here at Wimbledon. She's doing it the hard way. And so

:11:07. > :11:10.was her sister on Centre Court, Serena Williams. This was an

:11:11. > :11:14.unbelievable match. Superb play. That's what it means to the

:11:15. > :11:18.defending champion. Six times she's been a winner here and she stays on

:11:19. > :11:25.course for another. She was pushed to the brink by Christina McHale.

:11:26. > :11:33.6-4 in the third set that. Delighted the Centre Court crowd. Wonderful

:11:34. > :11:44.tennis from both players. And Tara Moore's challenge for Great Britain

:11:45. > :11:49.has ended against Kuznetsov a. She lost 6-3 in the final set. Tara was

:11:50. > :11:57.the last of the British women left in the draw. And a story on the

:11:58. > :12:01.Centre Court first up, because Juan Martin Del Potro, who has been out

:12:02. > :12:05.of tennis for two years, has made a return to a Grand Slam here at

:12:06. > :12:14.wibble Devon and put out the world number four, Stan Wawrinka, in four

:12:15. > :12:20.sets. He's gone through, 3-6, 6-3, 7-6, 6-3. Juan Martin Del Potro has

:12:21. > :12:25.had wrist judgery. Wondered if he would be able to play tennis again.

:12:26. > :12:29.He was very emotion A it is wonderful to see Juan Martin Del

:12:30. > :12:33.Potro back here at Wimbledon. Tim, you were watching that. With the an

:12:34. > :12:37.amazing story. It is. He's had such a tough time with surgery on both

:12:38. > :12:42.wrists. He won the US Open a few years ago. He's had really bad

:12:43. > :12:49.injury problems. But when he is healthy, as he is now, he is such a

:12:50. > :12:52.good ball striker. How hard he serves and hit his forearm to the

:12:53. > :12:58.back of the court. One to watch out for. You would never think that Stan

:12:59. > :13:01.Wawrinka would be outhit so much. A wonderful display. The news here at

:13:02. > :13:05.Wimbledon is that Djokovic is two sets to love down. He'll be on court

:13:06. > :13:10.tomorrow. We will have play on Sunday. That's the news here at the

:13:11. > :13:13.championships. It is the first time since 2004 that play will be on the

:13:14. > :13:18.middle Sunday. But we'll be back tomorrow. Our coverage starts at 11

:13:19. > :13:22.o'clock on BBC Two. We'll have some special guests in the Royal Box from

:13:23. > :13:27.sport, so from Tim and myself, bye-bye.
