:00:13. > :00:23.Around here, they honour home-grown heroes, Angela, Anne, Virginia,
:00:24. > :00:28.Fred. Today, and other plays in the men's singles final again. --
:00:29. > :00:35.another. For so long, Andy Murray has walked in the shadow of Perry,
:00:36. > :00:46.but down the years Fred's bests have become Andy's bests. In 2012, Murray
:00:47. > :00:51.became Britain's first Grand Slam champion since Perry. In 2013,
:00:52. > :01:00.Murray became Britain's first Wimbledon champion since Perry. The
:01:01. > :01:05.waiting is over! In 2015, Murray spearheaded his country's Davis Cup
:01:06. > :01:14.tribe, just as Perry has almost eight decades before. -- triumph.
:01:15. > :01:19.Now, in 2016, Andy plays in his third Wimbledon final and his third
:01:20. > :01:25.Grand Slam final of the year, emulating totals achieved by Perry.
:01:26. > :01:29.It is also Murray's 11 career Grand Slam final, one more than Fred. A
:01:30. > :01:38.second Wimbledon title would see him stand alongside Nadal. Feels good?
:01:39. > :01:45.Unbelievable, thank you very much! Jimmy Connors. He has done it,
:01:46. > :01:49.proving them all wrong. To achieve that, though, he will have to
:01:50. > :01:54.overcome Milos Raonic, himself hoping to write his own bit of
:01:55. > :01:58.history and become Canada's first-ever Wimbledon singles
:01:59. > :02:10.champion. Whatever happens, we shouldn't take Murray for granted.
:02:11. > :02:52.We will miss him when he is gone. Andy is a statue in waiting.
:02:53. > :02:59.There are days in our lives that are pressures for so many reasons. Days
:03:00. > :03:05.which involve family, friendship, love the ones. Days which we will
:03:06. > :03:13.never forget. And among other moments we never forget, days in our
:03:14. > :03:18.sporting lives, days that we personally experience, or ones we
:03:19. > :03:21.follow was fans, supporters, spectators. These moments are so
:03:22. > :03:29.precious because they don't come often in our lifetime. National
:03:30. > :03:37.celebration, national joy, national pride. Today, Sunday July the tenth
:03:38. > :03:41.2016, is one of those days. Because here at Wimbledon, Britain's Andy
:03:42. > :03:45.Murray faces Canadian Milos Raonic in one of the greatest sporting
:03:46. > :03:53.theatres in the world, with a second men's title in his sights. This is
:03:54. > :04:01.the ultimate prize both Murray and Raonic are focused on, the Challenge
:04:02. > :04:06.Cup. It is made of silvergilt, stands 18 inches high, and back in
:04:07. > :04:11.1887 it cost 100 guineas. For today's winner, who will receive ?2
:04:12. > :04:19.million, the prestige of lifting it will be priceless.
:04:20. > :04:27.Andy Murray as the favourite. This is a third Wimbledon final, he has
:04:28. > :04:32.won one, lost one, but he is the man in form, as this is his third
:04:33. > :04:37.successive Grand Slam final in 2016. The last two Novak Djokovic in both
:04:38. > :04:44.the Australian and French Open finals, but today is his Serbian
:04:45. > :04:49.nemesis is not his opponent. -- he lost to. Today, this is the man who
:04:50. > :04:53.faces Murray, Milos Raonic, a man mountain of a Canadian who was
:04:54. > :05:02.proved to have the nerve and serve to win at a Grand Slam. He has the
:05:03. > :05:05.game for grass, he is cool, calm and unconjugated, and with John McEnroe
:05:06. > :05:10.as his coach and consultant, he has been tutored in the attitude needed
:05:11. > :05:14.to win a major title. Earlier, Andy arrived, knowing this afternoon he
:05:15. > :05:18.could cement his place as one of the all-time greats of British sport. Is
:05:19. > :05:21.there a better sports man or woman in Britain at the moment? You
:05:22. > :05:26.yourselves can decide that, but we are blessed to have him, and today
:05:27. > :05:36.could be one of his greatest triumphs. As for Milos, he is aiming
:05:37. > :05:40.for some sporting history himself. No Canadian man or woman has ever
:05:41. > :05:44.won a Grand Slam. Born in Montenegro, he moved to North
:05:45. > :05:48.America when he was three. He idolised Wimbledon champion Pete
:05:49. > :05:50.Sampras, and comparisons have been made between him and the legendary
:05:51. > :06:04.seven times champion. So this is the final, Raonic against
:06:05. > :06:11.Murray, what an afternoon we have in store here at Wimbledon.
:06:12. > :06:15.CHEERING Yes, what an atmosphere here at
:06:16. > :06:21.Wimbledon, a huge day for British tennis, a huge day for British
:06:22. > :06:25.sport, we have made our way up here! And the man who owns the hill, Tim,
:06:26. > :06:30.is with me, along with Lleyton Hewitt. Do you have a hill in
:06:31. > :06:35.Melbourne? I certainly don't, but what a build-up! And believable! We
:06:36. > :06:39.were nervous before that! I have really enjoyed the build-up to this
:06:40. > :06:43.final, it has played out so well for Andy Murray, he has got so much
:06:44. > :06:48.support today, and he has to really embrace that and use that support.
:06:49. > :06:53.It is a big day for British tennis, put it into some context. Well, it
:06:54. > :06:58.is, with what Andy has done in the last ten years with his career, this
:06:59. > :07:02.is his 11th Grand Slam final, I think it is really interesting to
:07:03. > :07:07.reflect that in his first NEI AA Djokovic or Federer, so this is a
:07:08. > :07:10.new environment for both players. -- he either played. Murray playing
:07:11. > :07:15.someone decides Djokovic and Frederik, and we were just chatting
:07:16. > :07:21.at the start about how important that will be in the first few
:07:22. > :07:26.moments of the match. -- Federer. You are on the committee, explained
:07:27. > :07:29.why the rivers close. They have been watching the weather pattern, it
:07:30. > :07:33.looks more optimistic than it was a couple of hours, the roof is closed
:07:34. > :07:40.as a precaution right now, and probably in the next... There it is,
:07:41. > :07:45.just as we feel a few spots of rain! Maybe they will be reversing that
:07:46. > :07:53.soon. But it is such a big day, the final, what is it like waking up the
:07:54. > :07:58.morning of a Grand Slam title? The two that I went on to win, they were
:07:59. > :08:01.different situations, at the US Open, I was the underdog, playing
:08:02. > :08:05.Pete Sampras, and I did not feel the weight of expectation, I had a
:08:06. > :08:09.nothing to lose attitude. At Wimbledon, I was the number one
:08:10. > :08:14.seed, and I felt more nervous going into that, with the added pressure.
:08:15. > :08:19.That was against Nalbandian. With Tim in the semifinal, it was a
:08:20. > :08:22.massive semifinal match, and I did not want to let that slip after I
:08:23. > :08:28.played so well in the semi, I wanted to go out with the same attitude in
:08:29. > :08:32.the final. You know, it was a lot more nerve wracking, it felt like it
:08:33. > :08:36.was mine to lose on that occasion, but obviously it is more the relief
:08:37. > :08:41.of getting over the line in the end. That is what Murray is facing today,
:08:42. > :08:45.suddenly he is the favourite. This is the first time he has probably
:08:46. > :08:50.been a favourite in a Grand Slam final. In the past, he is either
:08:51. > :08:54.played Djokovic or Federer, so we comes today with more expectation on
:08:55. > :08:59.his shoulders, but he has won here before. In 2013, he played some of
:09:00. > :09:03.his best tennis. The Olympics as well, such a big occasion, to win
:09:04. > :09:07.gold in London. I think he will handle it really well. We will
:09:08. > :09:11.continue our build-up over the next hour before the players wore
:09:12. > :09:19.Concord, and this is what is coming up. -- walk on court.
:09:20. > :09:25.We go back in time with and the Anders Breivik plan. We meet Jamie
:09:26. > :09:33.Delgado and Ivan Lendl, who reveal what it is like to work with him. We
:09:34. > :09:42.catch up with Milos Raonic, whose superhuman serve is as lethal
:09:43. > :09:46.weapon. -- his. In 1987, Pat Cash won the title, today he looks at
:09:47. > :09:52.both players Carroll games and the areas which will determine the
:09:53. > :09:58.winner. -- players' games. And we look back at the giant sewer won the
:09:59. > :10:06.biggest prizes of the sport, the men's singles title. We will hear
:10:07. > :10:17.from Boris Becker and John McEnroe AfD 1:30, but let's put the final
:10:18. > :10:23.into context with Andrew Cotter. What is it in sports that draws us
:10:24. > :10:27.in? It is the unexpected, it is the unknown. There is always the chance
:10:28. > :10:32.of an outcome to lift the spirits. An amazing story, this 25-year-old
:10:33. > :10:37.from Slough, his first ever tournament level match... Moments of
:10:38. > :10:47.light in a damp summer, a victory perhaps to earn a day to remember.
:10:48. > :10:51.David versus Goliath! Hard graft can take you further down the road, even
:10:52. > :10:57.if only to learn another lesson in how far there is still to go. But it
:10:58. > :11:03.is always the up steps that leave their mark. Some will make us raise
:11:04. > :11:07.an eyebrow, others leave us wide-eyed and open-mouthed in
:11:08. > :11:14.disbelief, marvelling about the glorious uncertainty of sport. He
:11:15. > :11:18.has done it, it is a shock! We also get the chance to relive our
:11:19. > :11:23.memories through those old champions who sits nearby, now watching
:11:24. > :11:30.powerless, playing out battles through younger men. And in sport,
:11:31. > :11:37.we see souls laid bare, but are those who cared too much, or or
:11:38. > :11:42.those who don't seem to care enough, and we pretend to take offence at
:11:43. > :11:47.both, but never turn our eyes away. There is comfort to be found in the
:11:48. > :11:54.issuer and the familiar, the home favourite sailing through, expecting
:11:55. > :12:00.victory to follow victory as if it were the simplest thing. But it
:12:01. > :12:06.would not feel right if all matters were so straightforward, if we were
:12:07. > :12:13.not at some point taken to the very edge. We are going the distance on
:12:14. > :12:17.Centre Court here! And back again. There is also the feeling in sports
:12:18. > :12:23.that we don't want to let go of those who have thrilled us before.
:12:24. > :12:28.As his powers faded, we lose something as well. The dream over
:12:29. > :12:32.for Federer, Milos Raonic through to his first Grand Slam final... And so
:12:33. > :12:39.the way clears for just those two who are left, one here for the first
:12:40. > :12:44.time, the others so very used to the weight of expectation. What a
:12:45. > :12:48.return! So in creeps the talk of destiny and things that will happen,
:12:49. > :12:56.and things that are surely meant to be. But as we know, in sport, there
:12:57. > :13:03.is always the unexpected, and the future is always unknown.
:13:04. > :13:09.We have had some amazing matches, the fairy tale story of Marcos
:13:10. > :13:15.Willis in the first week! It was wonderful, the rags to riches. It
:13:16. > :13:20.was, coming through prequalifying, he won three rounds in qualifying,
:13:21. > :13:25.had never won a match at this level, won his first match to play Federer
:13:26. > :13:30.on Centre Court, and I said if he got eight games and a signed shirt
:13:31. > :13:34.as a souvenir, it would be good. No shirt, he is a bit disappointed! I
:13:35. > :13:37.was watching some of the young Australian boys playing, and he had
:13:38. > :13:42.a big following in qualifying, just to get through his second and third
:13:43. > :13:46.round matches. The epic finish to his year, finishing off biplane
:13:47. > :13:52.Roger Federer on Centre Court, it doesn't get much better. What about
:13:53. > :13:55.Nick Kyrgios? We saw him watching your doubles match just before
:13:56. > :14:00.playing Andy Murray, are you going to help them a little bit? I am one
:14:01. > :14:03.of the people that support him through Tennis Australia and the
:14:04. > :14:08.group around him, with the Davis Cup team, but he walks to his own beat a
:14:09. > :14:12.little bit. I had no idea he was going to be watching. He is very
:14:13. > :14:22.good friends with Jack Sock as well. He was wearing my son's hat, half an
:14:23. > :14:25.hour before going to play one of the biggest matches of his career. The
:14:26. > :14:29.more opportunities he gets to play on the big stage, against the big
:14:30. > :14:34.players, he mature and hopefully put himself in a position to play for
:14:35. > :14:38.this great trophy one day. As you say, he does it his way. Somebody
:14:39. > :14:41.who did that earlier was Gordon Reid, playing in the first ever
:14:42. > :14:47.men's singles wheelchair final, and he was up against Stefan Olsson of
:14:48. > :14:50.Sweden, one of his big rivals, and Gordon Reid, won the doubles
:14:51. > :14:56.yesterday, came through in straight sets to win 6-4, 6-4. He won the
:14:57. > :15:03.Australian Open earlier in the year, he was so excited to be here, huge
:15:04. > :15:16.support for him out on court 17, well done to Gordon Reid.
:15:17. > :15:23.Just to say that the competition we started yesterday to find the shot
:15:24. > :15:27.of the tournament, which you can find on the BBC website and social
:15:28. > :15:32.media accounts, that has now closed and we will bring you the winning
:15:33. > :15:36.shot later in the programme. For Andy Murray, it is his third
:15:37. > :15:41.Wimbledon final. He first played here back as a 19-year-old and he
:15:42. > :15:47.very clearly told us when he was interviewed his plans for the
:15:48. > :15:51.future. Are you all right, Martin? Just a
:15:52. > :16:04.general chat here. How do you see it today? The match? How much is the
:16:05. > :16:09.heat a factor? Err? Do you remember the early exchanges?
:16:10. > :16:15.Are you as laid-back as you seen? Everyone who knows me knows I don't
:16:16. > :16:21.normally speak too much and when I do I am normally arguing with
:16:22. > :16:26.someone. I don't remember a lot of them, I
:16:27. > :16:31.have done thousands and thousands. Is it just what the heck, grant a
:16:32. > :16:37.bit, Kevin the annoyed teenager, remember that character? Is there a
:16:38. > :16:44.bit of you in that? I wouldn't say I'm quite as bad as him. I think I
:16:45. > :16:48.was hard on you. It is tough being in the spotlight, isn't it? I didn't
:16:49. > :16:53.particularly enjoy it, to be honest. It wasn't something I prepared for,
:16:54. > :16:58.maybe wasn't something I was ready for either. It is not easy being in
:16:59. > :17:03.front of a room full of journalists asking you difficult questions. Do
:17:04. > :17:10.you find as you travel that people are surprised that someone English
:17:11. > :17:16.or Scottish can play tennis? Tim Henman is not bad. Any mistake you
:17:17. > :17:22.make being picked up on is hard and I didn't enjoy it for a number of
:17:23. > :17:27.years, I found it very hard. COMMENTATOR: The biggest mistake of
:17:28. > :17:31.his career, and straight sets... The incredible thing is that even at
:17:32. > :17:36.19 you were incredibly focused, you knew exactly what you wanted.
:17:37. > :17:42.How much more is there to come, do you reckon? I want to win a Grand
:17:43. > :17:46.Slam, that has been my goal since I started playing tennis. I know it is
:17:47. > :17:52.a tough thing to do, but if I work hard I have a good chance of doing
:17:53. > :17:57.it. You have worked hard and you are on
:17:58. > :18:04.the verge of winning Wimbledon again. To win it again, what would
:18:05. > :18:08.that mean? When I won it the first time, it was a huge relief. I maybe
:18:09. > :18:12.didn't enjoy it as much as I should have done. It was just something
:18:13. > :18:20.that there was a lot of pressure on me to do that for long time. I would
:18:21. > :18:25.love to try and do it again on Sunday. It will be extremely tough
:18:26. > :18:31.but I believe I can do it. All right, we will let you get off, we
:18:32. > :18:44.wish you well, Cheers, goodbye. That was excellent, very good. Thanks.
:18:45. > :18:48.You have been through that, Tim, and it's not easy. No, it is pretty
:18:49. > :18:52.intense, as Andy said it is a learning process. I knew him before
:18:53. > :18:57.he started here is a 19-year-old, and to see him over the last decade,
:18:58. > :19:01.he is so experienced and mature. I have seen him a lot in this
:19:02. > :19:06.Championships and the way he has been playing and the whole
:19:07. > :19:09.tranquillity around his team has been impressive. It has been one
:19:10. > :19:17.match at a time, playing consistently, and I think he has got
:19:18. > :19:20.one more victory left in him. It is pressure you feel playing the
:19:21. > :19:26.Australian Open, you were saying, having a home Grand Slam. It is
:19:27. > :19:31.never easy, you are under the spotlight 24/ seven. Coming to
:19:32. > :19:36.Queen's, being so close to winning the French Open, has just grass and
:19:37. > :19:40.everyone expects him to him to go to Queen's Club and take that title
:19:41. > :19:44.straightaway. This whole month has been under the spotlight but he
:19:45. > :19:50.handles it so well. Winning the Olympic gold medal in 2012, going on
:19:51. > :19:54.to win Wimbledon, he has handled it in his stride. And loving the
:19:55. > :20:00.atmosphere on the big occasion is key as well. Yes, you reflect on the
:20:01. > :20:05.performances. Look at the way his schedule worked out, he played on
:20:06. > :20:10.Centre Court in the first week when it was difficult with the weather.
:20:11. > :20:14.His schedule was not disrupted. In the big moments, against Nick
:20:15. > :20:19.Kyrgios it was a potentially difficult match. He only made six
:20:20. > :20:24.unforced errors. Against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, in the fifth set he was able
:20:25. > :20:28.to read gain it, and today is another big challenge. We spoke
:20:29. > :20:34.about the final at Queen's, he found a way and I think he will find a way
:20:35. > :20:40.today. We will hear more from the finalists later in the programme,
:20:41. > :20:46.but where will the final be won and lost? Pat Cash takes a look at some
:20:47. > :20:50.of the key areas. This matchup is fantastic. I'm
:20:51. > :20:55.really excited about this because it is a bit old school, an attacking
:20:56. > :21:05.player against a fantastic defence player. But with a modern twist -
:21:06. > :21:11.these guys have massive power. No more power than in Milos Raonic's
:21:12. > :21:16.serve. He has very little chance to do anything about that. What I want
:21:17. > :21:22.to have a look at, is the last time Murray and Raonic played in the
:21:23. > :21:29.final of Queen's, and where Raonic served, we saw against Federer, they
:21:30. > :21:33.are out here, there are the aces. If we have a closer look at what Raonic
:21:34. > :21:37.has done through the Championships against Federer and also
:21:38. > :21:43.successfully against Murray at the Australian Open, these are in the
:21:44. > :21:47.middle, into the body serves. He is using that effectively which means
:21:48. > :21:51.Murray has got to stand still. He cannot guess to lunge one way or the
:21:52. > :21:57.other, especially if the ball is coming fast to him. How will Murray
:21:58. > :22:01.deal with that? He is one of the great returners of all time,
:22:02. > :22:08.especially on grass. Under normal circumstances, his ground stroke
:22:09. > :22:16.takes a big swing, down and around in this area, but he cannot do that
:22:17. > :22:23.when the guy is serving at 144 mph, regularly 140. He has to shorten
:22:24. > :22:29.that swing, and he is a master of this. Look how short the swing is,
:22:30. > :22:35.that is like half a swing. And he picks the ball up really nicely
:22:36. > :22:39.there, as he does so often. Get the ball back. Murray typically has been
:22:40. > :22:44.returning his first serve around about this area, which we saw.
:22:45. > :22:50.During the Championships he is returning the second serve of most
:22:51. > :22:55.players in and around this area. The problem today is Raonic doesn't
:22:56. > :23:00.really have a second serve, he has two first serves. It is so fast, it
:23:01. > :23:07.is like a first serve. I think Murray will have to hedge his bets a
:23:08. > :23:11.little bit, and return the second serve around this area, which may
:23:12. > :23:15.throw his rhythm out of it. He is very smart, Murray, we know he can
:23:16. > :23:20.adjust his game and he will think his way through this but it may take
:23:21. > :23:24.a while to get the rhythm. If he gets his rhythm and starts breaking
:23:25. > :23:29.serves like he did at Queen's Club, he will win the Championships. If he
:23:30. > :23:37.doesn't, Raonic will win the Championships.
:23:38. > :23:43.Raonic, 137 aces so far. They are the two biggest strengths for each
:23:44. > :23:48.player. It will come down to how well Andy Murray can make him play
:23:49. > :23:53.another shot out there, he is a genius at that and if he can get
:23:54. > :23:57.onto his first or second serves early in the match, that will build
:23:58. > :24:06.pressure. He served well against Roger, didn't he? Yes, amazingly
:24:07. > :24:11.well. You target the spots, but for me serve he has used fantastically
:24:12. > :24:15.well is one into the body because sometimes you are moving to block
:24:16. > :24:19.the ball back when you are reacting one or the other, but it is not easy
:24:20. > :24:26.to keep the ball out of the middle of the court. It no doubt Andy's
:24:27. > :24:31.return will be a big factor. He is able to use a short swing and block
:24:32. > :24:36.the ball back. These are the body serves, and it is difficult to get
:24:37. > :24:41.out of the way of them. You cannot have a swing, all you can do is
:24:42. > :24:45.block it back at best which will normally give Raonic a short ball.
:24:46. > :24:49.One thing I think he is doing a lot better in this tournament is where
:24:50. > :24:52.to place himself when he comes forward for the volley. I was
:24:53. > :24:57.surprised that some of the low volleys he got out of against Roger
:24:58. > :25:01.Federer and didn't give him an opportunity to play a passing shot.
:25:02. > :25:07.You have played some big servers, you only get a few chances and you
:25:08. > :25:11.have got to take them. Yes, Andy knows there will be some big serves
:25:12. > :25:15.against him, he has got to take opportunities when it comes to
:25:16. > :25:23.second serves. Let's look at the quarterfinal against Tsonga because
:25:24. > :25:27.this was a tough match, mentally. So many different elements to it, in
:25:28. > :25:32.the first set they went to the tie-break and Andy was able to come
:25:33. > :25:38.out on top. They raised through the second straight and he thought it
:25:39. > :25:42.would be straight sets, but Tsonga, given his firepower, there was
:25:43. > :25:48.definitely some Serbs from him, he started going for everything and had
:25:49. > :25:52.nothing to lose when he was down two sets to love. It was looking
:25:53. > :25:56.difficult for Murray. Just dealing with the emotions that go through
:25:57. > :26:03.that, thinking you are almost in the locker room, then battling so hard.
:26:04. > :26:07.Yes, he used the crowd so well and positive body language. As we saw
:26:08. > :26:14.against Tomas Berdych, in the semifinal he just continued it.
:26:15. > :26:19.Although Raonic had a set and a break at Queen's, Murray after that
:26:20. > :26:22.started to read the serves better, didn't he? Yes, sometimes when you
:26:23. > :26:28.play the big servers it takes a while to build up any rhythm. You
:26:29. > :26:31.are looking for signs with the ball toss, but Murray loves the
:26:32. > :26:35.statistics. He will look at the matches Raonic has played at
:26:36. > :26:42.Wimbledon and Queen's to see where he is favouring on the big boys. He
:26:43. > :26:47.has got to do a good job of the second serve. When he gets looks,
:26:48. > :26:51.Raonic will go for big serves at 120 mph but he has got to look to take
:26:52. > :26:56.advantage and get into the baseline rallies. When he can neutralise his
:26:57. > :27:01.serve, that is when Murray will get on top. He can exploit the lack of
:27:02. > :27:07.movement for Raonic at the back, that's where he will want to play
:27:08. > :27:11.the points. But even the second serve as a weapon. It is big but
:27:12. > :27:16.slightly slower. You will want to see a lot more of those. And it is
:27:17. > :27:21.about anticipation, you cannot really read where it is coming, you
:27:22. > :27:25.have to anticipate. Andy Murray does not guess, he gets a feel and maybe
:27:26. > :27:29.he will lean to one side slightly more on the big points. That's what
:27:30. > :27:34.happened in the Queen's final, he came up with an amazing backhand
:27:35. > :27:38.return break point to turn the match around in his favour and that was
:27:39. > :27:44.the big difference. He got confidence then. It is just such a
:27:45. > :27:49.lovely match up, well today is a day when champions are made and some may
:27:50. > :28:02.seize the moment, others may seize up. One man certainly didn't in
:28:03. > :28:06.1966, Richard Krajicek, and he has been talking to us.
:28:07. > :28:13.20 years ago you were about to walk out on Centre Court, at this stage,
:28:14. > :28:18.nerves? Yes, feeling you can do something special and if you don't
:28:19. > :28:22.do it today, you have got to do it another year. And the occasion got
:28:23. > :28:28.to Washington, your opponent, what will it be like for Murray? It is
:28:29. > :28:32.difficult because Raonic has won a couple of slams, so you know once
:28:33. > :28:38.you miss your opportunity, and Andy will have the momentum, it is
:28:39. > :28:44.like... Difficult. He has to take his chances straightaway. Who is
:28:45. > :28:49.your money on and why? Andy Murray because of the occasion. For me they
:28:50. > :28:56.are equals but Andy Murray, the pressure, I think he will cope with
:28:57. > :29:00.it better. Richard Krajicek, thank you.
:29:01. > :29:04.And so from the past to the present. Not surprisingly the crowd is out in
:29:05. > :29:06.force in anticipation as well as hope, as very soon we will hear a
:29:07. > :29:37.familiar cry. Come on, Andy! Come on, Andy! Come
:29:38. > :29:47.on, Andy! Come on, Andy! Come on, Andy! Come on, Andy! A tour de force
:29:48. > :29:59.from Andy. Soon it will be time for the talking
:30:00. > :30:04.to stop. Gametime. Yes, there's a lot of eyes on you, thousands here,
:30:05. > :30:12.millions around the world, but it is just you and him now. The battle is
:30:13. > :30:16.on. The early exchanges, you are testing each other out, seeing what
:30:17. > :30:24.the other guy brings. There is nowhere to hide. But whatever the
:30:25. > :30:29.weather, one thing is for certain. At the end of it all, one man
:30:30. > :30:34.retreats back to his corner, the other raises his arms in victory.
:30:35. > :30:39.That's when you can start talking like a champion.
:30:40. > :30:47.Anthony Joshua pulling no punches, and many of you will know that Andy
:30:48. > :30:51.Murray is a big-time boxing fan, so here is a look at the tail of the
:30:52. > :31:03.tape for today's heavyweight clash. Andy Murray, 29, Milos Raonic, 25.
:31:04. > :31:11.Andy Murray is six foot three, Milos Raonic six foot five. Andy Murray's
:31:12. > :31:18.fastest serve, 134 mph, Milos Raonic, 144 mph. Andy Murray micro
:31:19. > :31:25.has 51 as mackerels, Milos Raonic 137. Andy Murray's career
:31:26. > :31:30.prize-money, ?136 million. Today is an 11th appearance in a Grand Slam
:31:31. > :31:34.final four Andy, it is Milos's first, and Andy will have thousands
:31:35. > :31:39.of supporters behind him, many here on the hill. The loss Raonic just a
:31:40. > :31:48.handful, but included amongst them is his number one fan, here she is
:31:49. > :31:52.speaking to Garry Richardson. Your son is about to play in the
:31:53. > :31:56.Wimbledon final, what are your emotions? I am amazed, I am so happy
:31:57. > :32:07.and thrilled that he is there where he is. He makes proud everybody in
:32:08. > :32:13.Montenegro, Canada, everybody, so as a mother, I just wish this for him,
:32:14. > :32:18.and that is true now, that is happening. And your husband coached
:32:19. > :32:21.Tim from six years old, what a great story, you cannot have imagined that
:32:22. > :32:26.he was going to go on to be such a great player, a possible Wimbledon
:32:27. > :32:31.champion. My husband did not coach him, he just put the ball is in the
:32:32. > :32:36.ball machine, that is the only thing we did! He will claim he did a lot
:32:37. > :32:40.more! He drove him, he did everything for him, but he would not
:32:41. > :32:47.claim that. We always took professionals to work with our son,
:32:48. > :32:54.even in that time, it was just a game for him, something to be busy
:32:55. > :32:59.with. Lastly, what is it going to be like to sit and watch, and how much
:33:00. > :33:05.will you be able to enjoy the match, really? I hope that I will enjoy and
:33:06. > :33:12.be happy with the outcome. And I will try to enjoy. To be honest, it
:33:13. > :33:16.is hard, because every point, you know, it is not finished until it is
:33:17. > :33:26.finished. So I hope that my son plays the best and gets what he
:33:27. > :33:29.wants to achieve. Have an enjoyable afternoon, thank you very much.
:33:30. > :33:36.Thank you for having me. Lovely to hear from Vesna Raonic, now we can
:33:37. > :33:37.hear from the man with classic film star good likes and superhero
:33:38. > :33:53.powers. -- good looks. What a staggering clean hit from
:33:54. > :33:58.Raonic that was! An explosion at into the ball, that is where the
:33:59. > :34:03.power comes from! What a wonderful play by Milos Raonic right on the
:34:04. > :34:10.line! Too strong from Milos Raonic! It is extraordinary from Milos
:34:11. > :34:14.Raonic! Raonic to his first final! You have produced some super
:34:15. > :34:19.performances all tournament, there to say your performance against
:34:20. > :34:23.Federer was a superhuman? To some extent, yeah, I kept plugging away,
:34:24. > :34:28.fighting, trying to find solutions. I got a little bit of an opening at
:34:29. > :34:33.the end of the fourth set and I made the most of it. Milos Raonic is
:34:34. > :34:37.through to his first Grand Slam final, what a moment for him... When
:34:38. > :34:42.did tennis first come into your world? When I was eight and a half
:34:43. > :34:45.years old, the thing closest to home was tennis courts, and I started
:34:46. > :34:50.playing every single day and really fell in love and took it seriously.
:34:51. > :34:54.Were your parents making sure that you are thinking of other things in
:34:55. > :34:58.your life, not just tennis? It was always, make sure you are an honours
:34:59. > :35:03.student, then you can play as much tennis as you want. When I decided,
:35:04. > :35:07.when I was 17, to go pro, rather than go to university, I was
:35:08. > :35:11.committed to school and education was important, but I decided I
:35:12. > :35:15.wanted to give the processor could live a fair chance. Once you broke
:35:16. > :35:20.into the top ten, did you know that you needed a change of coach, change
:35:21. > :35:25.of focus to get you to the next level? Well, I was always aware, I
:35:26. > :35:29.have always asked myself, what can I do better? I tried was myself that
:35:30. > :35:35.after every single tournament. I looked to people who I believe could
:35:36. > :35:38.help me achieve those goals, nobody is going to be as concerned about it
:35:39. > :35:43.as I am, but the people I have surrounded myself with care a lot.
:35:44. > :35:48.Give us an idea of what John McEnroe has done for you. He has helped me
:35:49. > :35:52.enjoy it more on court, helped me release energy on court. It is
:35:53. > :35:58.because of that that I was able to come back from 2-0 down. An
:35:59. > :36:04.important win! In the semifinals, I had to come from 2-1 down. As he
:36:05. > :36:09.helped you calm yourself down? He has taken it the other way, he said
:36:10. > :36:12.you have to get the fire out of you, be positive and make sure you
:36:13. > :36:16.release the energy, make sure you show your presence, your demeanour,
:36:17. > :36:21.make sure the other guy knows you are there. Andy Murray in the final,
:36:22. > :36:24.you have played at Queen's, I think you even predicted you might be
:36:25. > :36:30.playing him in the final then. Well, I said hopefully! Hopefully I will
:36:31. > :36:36.get to face him in revenge for myself. I feel like a few weeks ago
:36:37. > :36:44.I let that go, but this is a different stage.
:36:45. > :36:48.Well, it wouldn't be a super shark everyone micro today, Raonic, he
:36:49. > :36:51.looked very dangerous. We have made our way from Henman Hill down to
:36:52. > :37:07.Centre Court. A super John McEnroe will be here soon. He
:37:08. > :37:14.is probably busy! Ease talking to a certain tall Canadian, I think! --
:37:15. > :37:18.he is talking. How special is a day like today, the men's final? This is
:37:19. > :37:27.the reason you start playing tennis, and I have been following Milos
:37:28. > :37:32.since he was a little boy, and this is the moment when you want to show
:37:33. > :37:36.the world who you are. A huge occasion, first Grand Slam final. It
:37:37. > :37:43.is, and there has been many a player who has crumbled under that
:37:44. > :37:47.pressure. I think Milos, I haven't seen anyone more determined to be
:37:48. > :37:51.successful in his career, he has done everything to be as good as he
:37:52. > :37:57.possibly can. We typically see the top guys putting in massive, huge
:37:58. > :38:01.efforts, getting extra coaches, like Boris and Novak, whoever it happens
:38:02. > :38:05.to be. But he is so determined, this is his chance, and I really believe
:38:06. > :38:10.he has the tools, he has got the tools to win this match. Whether he
:38:11. > :38:15.can actually do it on this stage today is another story, and nerves
:38:16. > :38:19.can come into it. If he does get to that stage where he is serving for
:38:20. > :38:26.the championship, and I cannot tell you what's... I worked with a sports
:38:27. > :38:29.psychologist for a whole year to calm my nerves for occasions such as
:38:30. > :38:31.that, and when I got out of the chair to serve for the championship,
:38:32. > :38:36.I cannot say the expletive that came into my head, but my head was
:38:37. > :38:39.saying, you are serving for the Wimbledon championship, don't mess
:38:40. > :38:44.it up! A different word slightly, but it came straight into my head
:38:45. > :38:47.after all the work I had done. I giggled to myself, so funny, after
:38:48. > :38:53.all that work, that comes into my head. It relaxed me, but I was
:38:54. > :38:58.terrified, serving for the championship, seeing people crumble.
:38:59. > :39:05.You had no fear, 17. If looked a bit easier than it was, even at 17! I
:39:06. > :39:09.was the innocent youth, not really aware of the consequences if you do
:39:10. > :39:12.not. But I remember sitting on the chair as well, all the crazy
:39:13. > :39:17.thoughts go through your mind, you just want to close your eyes. Kept
:39:18. > :39:24.your calm, concentration, really focus on every single point. Serve
:39:25. > :39:26.will be key for Milos today, we're going to look at the comparisons
:39:27. > :39:37.between them. He takes more chances on the second
:39:38. > :39:42.serve. Well, he has to. That is going to be the big factor today,
:39:43. > :39:47.his serve, his powerful game against the defensive skills of Andy Murray.
:39:48. > :39:52.Milos needs to serve big, he needs to be attacking, go for the second
:39:53. > :39:57.serve ace sometimes. Having said that, he will serve a couple of
:39:58. > :40:04.double faults. If you plays safe, he loses. With Murray's return, he has
:40:05. > :40:11.got to go for it. He has, variety is key, if he keeps pounding it down at
:40:12. > :40:18.the same pace... Come in! The man himself! And a cheer from the Centre
:40:19. > :40:26.Court crowd. I think, what was the question?! How are you? How nervous
:40:27. > :40:31.are you? I'm excited, this is my 24th Wimbledon that I have covered,
:40:32. > :40:34.this is, I have got to say, the first time where I have actually
:40:35. > :40:39.been involved with someone, trying to help someone get over the finish
:40:40. > :40:45.line. Boris knows what it is like. I can see in your eyes! I didn't sleep
:40:46. > :40:52.that well! Can I just say, firstly, I had a little thing with Andy, two
:40:53. > :40:56.days after the French, that was tough, he was playing the best
:40:57. > :41:00.tennis, he got to the French Serena, and I have always had a lot of
:41:01. > :41:05.respect for Andy Murray, because I have never seen anyone under more
:41:06. > :41:09.pressure. -- the French Open. Tim Henman had a lot, but Murray has
:41:10. > :41:14.even more, and I commend him for the fact that he was able to overcome it
:41:15. > :41:17.and win Wimbledon. Then he got to the stage where he was extremely
:41:18. > :41:24.bummed out, obviously, that he was not able to overcome Novak Djokovic,
:41:25. > :41:27.and I felt he might not even go to Queen's, because he had played a lot
:41:28. > :41:32.of tennis, and that loss hit him hard. And then all of a sudden this
:41:33. > :41:39.talk about Iran and coming back into the picture! Here we go, it is going
:41:40. > :41:46.to work again. -- Ivan Lendl. Sure enough, I was at Queen's with Milos,
:41:47. > :41:52.Ivan shows up, and it was as if he never left. Andy seems to elevate
:41:53. > :41:56.that little bit, Milos and Andy, playing in the final of Queen's, he
:41:57. > :42:01.was playing extremely well. I do not think it is a big secret that with
:42:02. > :42:04.players like Murray or Djokovic, you try to take the racquet out of their
:42:05. > :42:10.hands little bit. If you have got the game that Milos has, before
:42:11. > :42:15.hand, you have to take it to him, you don't want to get involved in a
:42:16. > :42:23.lot of long points and make Murray exhibit his athleticism. He did a
:42:24. > :42:28.great job, 6-3 he was up, and Murray sensed that Milos got a little bit
:42:29. > :42:32.tight. I remember Milos, on Father's Day, the finals of Queen's, saying
:42:33. > :42:37.congratulations to Andy on becoming a father. And I hope to have a
:42:38. > :42:46.rematch and see you again in a few weeks' time. Can I ask you a
:42:47. > :42:51.question? I have got limited time! You must be very proud of the fact,
:42:52. > :42:56.the big question is, we know Milos has got the game to beat Andy, can
:42:57. > :43:01.he keep it up? You must be very proud of the fact that he did that
:43:02. > :43:05.against Federer. I think he became a man in that match, hanging in long
:43:06. > :43:10.enough to beat Federer. Can he do it today? You must be proud of the fact
:43:11. > :43:15.that he did hang inconsistently the whole match. Well, I think obviously
:43:16. > :43:20.that is the key, all three of us were pretty emotional on the tennis
:43:21. > :43:26.court... Some more than others! Boast of the time we used it in a
:43:27. > :43:29.positive way, and I think that Milos, he is extremely good, a fine
:43:30. > :43:34.young man trying to bridge that gap between Murray and Djokovic, and in
:43:35. > :43:37.order to do so, he has done everything possible to try to
:43:38. > :43:43.elevate his game. The one thing that I felt was important for him, and as
:43:44. > :43:48.a fan of kick tennis, but also for someone working with someone like
:43:49. > :43:53.Milos Raonic, to somehow be able to embrace the moment, it is easy for
:43:54. > :44:00.me to say enjoy being at there. But show that you enjoy it, fans respect
:44:01. > :44:05.when you are being emotional about it. When Murray played Tsonga, part
:44:06. > :44:09.of the way he managed to elevate that, he was firing the crowd up. I
:44:10. > :44:15.think that Milos needs to do that, not bottle himself up and flat line
:44:16. > :44:18.through every match. It is taking a certain point, but what you said is
:44:19. > :44:24.true, because the reason he won that is that he had shown and was willing
:44:25. > :44:29.to show everyone, hey, I am going to lay it all out here. If I fail, I am
:44:30. > :44:37.going to go out fighting. He found a deer that I think he never had
:44:38. > :44:50.before, never thought he had. -- aid -- a gear. John, you will be asking
:44:51. > :44:55.him to be more aggressive, come forward on this surface.
:44:56. > :45:04.When you are in a Wimbledon final, you won't win playing safe. These
:45:05. > :45:09.guys know how to win. You cannot be waiting behind the baseline, hoping
:45:10. > :45:15.Andy will miss a couple of returns. You have got to go out there looking
:45:16. > :45:21.to win instead of the other guy losing. Also he has been coming into
:45:22. > :45:30.the net, like 152 times. That was this year, when he got to the
:45:31. > :45:38.semifinals a couple of years ago it was in the 30s. It is not easy to
:45:39. > :45:42.change your personality or change the way you play. Sometimes you
:45:43. > :45:47.expose yourself and if you don't think you are as quick or athletic
:45:48. > :45:52.as the other guys, you try to hide that. Most of the time he's able to
:45:53. > :45:56.get away with it because his serve is so big, he doesn't have to take
:45:57. > :45:59.chances, but I think he has understood he will be a better
