:00:00. > :00:00.about those two. Boris will be staying with us because soon the
:00:00. > :00:00.players will be walking onto the Centre Court. Over the years we have
:00:07. > :00:15.seen the giants of the game, as Eddie Butler describes.
:00:16. > :00:20.There is no hiding place, simply giants on a postage stamp stage.
:00:21. > :00:32.Every bead of sweat seen. The drop shot. Every blur other winner slowed
:00:33. > :00:40.to slow motion. Two giants at full speed, at full stretch, stretch of
:00:41. > :00:49.limb, every sound court, amplified in the amphitheatre. Two Giants
:00:50. > :00:54.pushed in the pores, the held breath of silent Centre Court
:00:55. > :01:03.concentration. Giants as a feuding couple, their place in the panty and
:01:04. > :01:14.reinforced by their final. Bjorn Borg, John McEnroe, McEnroe, Jimmy
:01:15. > :01:22.Connors. The giants who bestrode their age, Fred Perry, Rod Laver,
:01:23. > :01:29.the expressionless Bjorn Borg, the theatrical Boris Becker, the
:01:30. > :01:34.undemonstrative Pete Sampras, the one Arthur Ashe, I will let my
:01:35. > :01:47.racket do the talking, and how that racket spoke on his day. And in a
:01:48. > :01:57.new century, the Federer Nadal final... The Andy Murray moment.
:01:58. > :02:02.COMMENTATOR: The waiting is over! Giants adorned by the accessories of
:02:03. > :02:11.their craft, punks modelling on the catwalk. 'S winners of their catgut
:02:12. > :02:17.must have tight strong light sabres, two Giants heated to boiling point,
:02:18. > :02:23.picked clean by the vulture of pressure. Exposed. There is no
:02:24. > :02:41.hiding place. Two Giants soaring on the thermal, rising to the occasion.
:02:42. > :02:46.Two Giants. One champion. SUE BARKER: It gets the hairs on the
:02:47. > :02:51.back of the neck up. This tournament has such great tradition and
:02:52. > :02:55.history. Yes, you really feel it. I'm standing next to one of the guys
:02:56. > :03:03.who created so much history on this Centre Court. Well, I call it my
:03:04. > :03:09.living room. Pete Sampras stole the keys! It is the place I love playing
:03:10. > :03:14.my most important events and I will cherish it for ever. Whenever I come
:03:15. > :03:20.back to the club, I feel I am 17, 18, nothing has changed. It is a
:03:21. > :03:26.magical feeling down here, isn't it? There has been the excitement
:03:27. > :03:30.growing, and obviously with it being the first match today starting at
:03:31. > :03:34.two o'clock, everyone is in their seats early. We have an amazing
:03:35. > :03:39.turnout in the royal box today, which Boris is a part of as well so
:03:40. > :03:44.that brings even more expectation, excitement. Then players coming out
:03:45. > :03:49.very shortly. It is such a magical day, but for the players now getting
:03:50. > :03:55.ready, Andy knows all about it. Milos Raonic doesn't know, it is all
:03:56. > :03:58.new. And it is slightly different getting ready not just for your
:03:59. > :04:06.first Grand Slam final but for a final at Wimbledon and this is what
:04:07. > :04:08.you dream of. Walking out in the All-England Club, playing for that
:04:09. > :04:14.great trophy. There is Chrissie Evert in the royal box, and tennis
:04:15. > :04:19.royalty there, Stefan Edberg. Everyone taking their seats. Someone
:04:20. > :04:23.I shared three Wimbledon finals with. Here comes the Duke and
:04:24. > :04:30.Duchess of Cambridge as well, making their way into the royal box. And
:04:31. > :04:35.getting a big loud cheer. There is Andy with Jamie Delgado, making his
:04:36. > :04:40.way back to the locker room I guess, just get the bag ready. Yes,
:04:41. > :04:46.downstairs is the warm up area where they will have been getting the
:04:47. > :04:50.early nerves out of their legs. The anticipation again, one last chat
:04:51. > :04:55.with his coaches, then he will be making the walk along the corridor
:04:56. > :05:01.with Raonic, following the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge onto the Centre
:05:02. > :05:07.Court. Just like any other day! Just one coat allowed in the locker room,
:05:08. > :05:15.so Carlos Moya is the one who has been in his corner this fortnight.
:05:16. > :05:21.Yes, is -- as much as we love John, we should give Carlos a lot of
:05:22. > :05:25.credit. These guys grounded Raonic over the last couple of years. The
:05:26. > :05:30.question is always who gets all the credit, but at the end of the day it
:05:31. > :05:39.is about the player. The player is picking his team. He knows his team,
:05:40. > :05:43.everyone has different roles. If you have the last guy telling your man
:05:44. > :05:48.what to do, you had better be right because there will be a fight
:05:49. > :05:52.afterwards! We have seen the Duke and Duchess taking their place on
:05:53. > :05:57.Centre Court, many famous faces, all of those enjoying the action
:05:58. > :06:04.happening on Henman Hill. They certainly play their part. The scene
:06:05. > :06:05.is set, but can Andy Murray win a second Wimbledon title and continue
:06:06. > :06:29.his incredible sporting story? The crowd rose to Andy Murray, first
:06:30. > :06:36.Wimbledon, first major. What a debut.
:06:37. > :06:49.What a performance from the massive man from Dunblane! I'm going to try
:06:50. > :07:04.this and it's not going to be easy. The support has been incredible so
:07:05. > :07:09.thank you. The wait is over! SUE BARKER: It is the ever-changing
:07:10. > :07:14.face, physique and emotions of Andy Murray over those years. Very much
:07:15. > :07:19.so, we were reflecting on it that Andy was baby faced at 19, ended up
:07:20. > :07:26.losing in five sets to Nalbandian. In the context of Boris, he had won
:07:27. > :07:31.it twice by benzoate is unbelievable but he has come such a long way. The
:07:32. > :07:38.biggest turning point was when you made him cry in 2012 after he lost
:07:39. > :07:43.the final to Federer. This is the moment, this is when the nerves kick
:07:44. > :07:48.in, the excitement and anticipation. Yes, this is when it sets in now,
:07:49. > :07:52.you are about to make the traditional walk through the
:07:53. > :07:57.All-England Club, through the members' area, past the royal box,
:07:58. > :08:03.downstairs. Then you get told to wait for a few minutes before you go
:08:04. > :08:08.out. It is the history and tradition of doing it, and it is when the
:08:09. > :08:15.nerves set in. Even though your walk was shorter. I didn't have the
:08:16. > :08:21.beautiful Ali and the history before me. But you still had to walk past
:08:22. > :08:26.the trophy. Those moments took for ever, you're ready to go out, then
:08:27. > :08:32.you had to wait until obviously everybody was ready for it. Those
:08:33. > :08:35.are the moment afterwards that you cherish because it is
:08:36. > :08:42.once-in-a-lifetime. This is what makes Wimbledon so special, moments
:08:43. > :08:45.like this. Yes, led by the club coach, whose responsibility is
:08:46. > :08:51.getting the players on Centre Court on time and it looks like he's doing
:08:52. > :08:56.a good job today. Coming down the steps, going underneath the famous
:08:57. > :09:02.Kipling quote, then out towards the doors of Centre Court. It is
:09:03. > :09:08.something that Andy Murray has dealt with so well, all of the pressure
:09:09. > :09:12.and expectation, hasn't he, Boris? That is the moment I was dreading,
:09:13. > :09:14.the few seconds you have to wait. He didn't trip, everything is ready,
:09:15. > :09:55.here we go. Wow! That was some welcome, wasn't
:09:56. > :10:01.it? Although it is a very international crowd on Centre Court,
:10:02. > :10:05.you just know that probably 80% of going to be behind Andy, is that
:10:06. > :10:09.going to be a factor? I think it will be, if he can use that positive
:10:10. > :10:13.energy, especially at the start of the match, he will have to try to
:10:14. > :10:18.serve as well as he possibly can to get his teeth into the match. I love
:10:19. > :10:25.the way Andy has gone about it, he has really stuck to his game plan.
:10:26. > :10:29.When he was in trouble against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, he really used
:10:30. > :10:34.the crowd. That is what John has been telling Milos to do, use the
:10:35. > :10:39.crowd to fire himself up. His problem is that he gets to bottled
:10:40. > :10:43.in, he does not use the crowd to his advantage, and John as one of the
:10:44. > :10:49.experts of doing that. In the Federer match, but also the round of
:10:50. > :10:53.16 match against Goffin, he was able to show a different character that
:10:54. > :10:57.we have not seen from Raonic before, and that is the reason he is in the
:10:58. > :11:04.final today. It is tough for all the family. It is definitely when you
:11:05. > :11:07.are not able to do anything, it will be a nervous time for the whole
:11:08. > :11:17.team. You are being generous to the Raonic team, saying they will have
:11:18. > :11:22.20%. Probably 20, not 20%! It is an international crowd here. It is, but
:11:23. > :11:26.this is the home tournament for Andy Murray, and over the years, with the
:11:27. > :11:32.history and experience, I am sure the crowd will be massively behind
:11:33. > :11:38.him. We don't get many days like this, Andy going through his final
:11:39. > :11:42.preparations, his mum Judy is courtside, what a great job she has
:11:43. > :11:47.done with both Andy and his brother, Jamie. They are coming out for the
:11:48. > :11:53.coin toss, being done by an 11-year-old from tooting, he is
:11:54. > :11:57.representing Jigsaw, which helps children and young people through
:11:58. > :12:01.trauma, loss and bereavement. He said, I put my hand over my mouth
:12:02. > :12:06.and started screaming when I was told I was doing the coin toss, I
:12:07. > :12:12.was so exhilarated. This is your big moment, Youssef, do it well. Heads
:12:13. > :12:16.has been called, it is heads. Very well done. Certainly a lot of spin
:12:17. > :12:23.on that coin toss, he has done his job! So what would you do if you are
:12:24. > :12:29.Andy Murray, would you make Milos server first? Possibly, I did that
:12:30. > :12:32.when I played, return of serve was my biggest strength, and if he can
:12:33. > :12:36.break serve early in the first couple of games, it could open the
:12:37. > :12:42.match wide open. On the other hand, I'm pretty sure Milos would have
:12:43. > :12:46.wanted to serve first as well. A little bit of sunshine breaking
:12:47. > :12:51.through, I am delighted to say. When we were up and Henman Hill, we had a
:12:52. > :12:57.few spots of rain, but luckily the roof is open, and play is under way.
:12:58. > :13:02.And, Boris, in this match, Milos just has to believe that he can win,
:13:03. > :13:07.and that is so much easier said than done. If you show your opponent in a
:13:08. > :13:11.major final but you are not sure, you are lacking in confidence, you
:13:12. > :13:15.are not going to win anyway. It does not mean, just because you are
:13:16. > :13:19.aggressive, you are going to win, but that is the first step in the
:13:20. > :13:23.right direction. Obviously, you have to back it up with the right tennis,
:13:24. > :13:27.but you have to be so mentally tough and believe at all times that you
:13:28. > :13:32.are going to win, even though it does not look like it. And also, as
:13:33. > :13:37.far as Milos is concerned, he has been coming in a lot, showing he is
:13:38. > :13:41.moving forward so much better. Have you been impressed with his
:13:42. > :13:48.serve-volley? Very much so, if you are coming in behind a 140 mph
:13:49. > :13:52.serve, you might not think it is difficult, but was has impressed me,
:13:53. > :13:56.his balance has been good for a big guy, his technique at the net has
:13:57. > :14:03.improved, and he will reflect a lot on the final at Queen's. For a set
:14:04. > :14:07.and a half, up 3-0, he played fantastic, and he will be saying to
:14:08. > :14:10.himself, that worked well, that is what I have got to repeat, and I
:14:11. > :14:14.think the biggest challenge is whether he can do it for three out
:14:15. > :14:18.of five sets. He did it for a set and a half, then his level dropped,
:14:19. > :14:24.Murray got better. So whether he can win through in five-setter is what
:14:25. > :14:27.we are waiting to see. He said that about the Federer match, he
:14:28. > :14:32.hesitated a little bit, let Federer back in, he said, I cannot do that,
:14:33. > :14:37.I have to stay aggressive. After winning the first set, he took his
:14:38. > :14:41.foot off the pedal, but Milos hunter, he could easily have gone
:14:42. > :14:45.away during that fourth set, down 2-1, facing quite a lot of break
:14:46. > :14:50.points, but he came up big in the fall set and played some of his best
:14:51. > :14:55.tennis in the fifth. That is the thing with best of five, you cannot
:14:56. > :15:00.be at your best all the time, and when you are on the losing side, you
:15:01. > :15:05.have to pick your spot, when you relax, you cannot play 100% all the
:15:06. > :15:10.time. Important is the beginning and then after each set, start fresh and
:15:11. > :15:16.full of confidence. As far as Andy is concerned, he has got to take
:15:17. > :15:20.risks as well. He knows there will be few opportunities, he has to
:15:21. > :15:24.accept there will be as is flying past him, but when you get a look at
:15:25. > :15:30.second serve, that is where he has got to be aggressive, get into the
:15:31. > :15:33.baseline exchanges, try to exploit Raonic's lack of movement. He knows
:15:34. > :15:38.he will have to play very, very well. And with the tag of favourite
:15:39. > :15:45.now, not facing Djokovic of Federer, it is a different Grand Slam final.
:15:46. > :15:49.It is a different situation, being the favourite, that is something new
:15:50. > :15:53.for Andy, coping with that expectation, let's see how the match
:15:54. > :15:59.starts. I am intrigued to see the first set, that could tell us a lot.
:16:00. > :16:05.As far as Andy's game is concerned, he has so many shots, he can have
:16:06. > :16:09.many plans. 100% right, he can come out and be aggressive at the start,
:16:10. > :16:14.and if he is not feeling it, he is one of the best counter punches the
:16:15. > :16:19.game has seen, he loves having a target as Milos is coming in but
:16:20. > :16:24.does not have enough depth and width. There are a lot of options, I
:16:25. > :16:27.think at the start he has to try to be aggressive himself, though, and
:16:28. > :16:32.that doesn't mean coming into the net, but trying to dictate play,
:16:33. > :16:42.leading Raonic get the first hit in. Jamie Hanley Ivan, who has got his
:16:43. > :16:48.game face on! -- Jamie and. The has to be aggressive, Andy, he has to
:16:49. > :16:53.try and get on the second serve. -- he has. One of the most impressive
:16:54. > :16:57.things about Andy over the last three months is is consistency of
:16:58. > :17:02.play, and it goes back to the clay-court season from Monte Carlo
:17:03. > :17:07.onwards. He was in the final of Madrid, won Rome, Roland Garros,
:17:08. > :17:10.Queen's. They have not been the peaks and rough that we have
:17:11. > :17:14.sometimes seen in the past, and that level of consistency is important to
:17:15. > :17:17.get off to a positive start and try to get Raonic on the blackboard. And
:17:18. > :17:25.Milos is chasing history, pressure on him to be the first Canadian to
:17:26. > :17:29.win a Grand Slam. That is a nice type of pressure, the first time for
:17:30. > :17:34.him, and he would not look at it this way, he is really riding high,
:17:35. > :17:38.his is a success story. He was dreaming as a little boy to win
:17:39. > :17:45.Wimbledon, and for him to reach it at 25, at the right age, I don't
:17:46. > :17:50.think physically he is struggling to match with the five sets. I think he
:17:51. > :17:55.is in a perfect scenario to create history. He would become the first
:17:56. > :18:00.non-European to win Wimbledon since you won in 2002! There have been a
:18:01. > :18:05.few good Europeans, that is for sure, a lot of the same guys have
:18:06. > :18:08.held up the trophy! As far as Milos is concerned, he has got all the
:18:09. > :18:15.weapons, but it is about staying with Murray early on. The key is the
:18:16. > :18:19.bread and butter, holding serve. He cannot lose serve early. Once Murray
:18:20. > :18:24.gets the break, it will be difficult. For him, he has to hold
:18:25. > :18:28.serve, get to the tie-breaker if he cannot break serve, take it from
:18:29. > :18:36.there. We look at the head to head, it is 6-3 in favour of Murray, and
:18:37. > :18:40.he won, much closer than the score suggested, as Tim said, at Queen's.
:18:41. > :18:44.When you look at the head to head, Murray as won the last five, but
:18:45. > :18:49.there are two ways to put pressure on the serve, and we think about
:18:50. > :18:53.great returners, but with such a big weapon of a serve, if you are
:18:54. > :18:58.continuously holding serve, your opponent thinks, if I lose it once,
:18:59. > :19:01.that is the set over, so that has got to be, as late and nearly gets
:19:02. > :19:10.one in the back from Raonic, that is what he has to focus on first and
:19:11. > :19:13.foremost. -- Lleyton This final has got so much, the big server against
:19:14. > :19:18.the great defender, the great returner, classic matches. It is a
:19:19. > :19:23.great matchplay scenario, what we are used to, Agassi against even
:19:24. > :19:28.easier rich, everyone loves the complete package of a tennis match,
:19:29. > :19:32.and we have got that today. As far as Andy is concerned, he is much
:19:33. > :19:37.better physically than when he won in 2013. He is better in every area,
:19:38. > :19:43.he has the experience of that day playing in the Wimbledon final,
:19:44. > :19:47.having not won, the enormous pressure, he has played in so many
:19:48. > :19:49.slam finals, even after his back operation he is in great shape
:19:50. > :19:54.physically. I think all those elements will come together and get
:19:55. > :20:03.a second Wimbledon title. A winner, one name each. Andy. Murray. Murray.
:20:04. > :20:09.Thank you for joining us, Tim and Lleyton make their way to the
:20:10. > :20:14.commentary box, will this be another triumphant day for British port and
:20:15. > :20:20.Andy Murray? Sit back in the company of Tim, Lleyton and Andrew Castle.
:20:21. > :20:23.Thank you very much indeed, the roof opens so we have the proper
:20:24. > :20:28.conclusion to the outdoor tournament. Spitting with rain
:20:29. > :20:33.earlier today, but at the moment it is set fair, very nice to see a
:20:34. > :20:38.little bit of blue sky above Milos Raonic, he won the toss, he is going
:20:39. > :20:42.to serve. Andy Murray is one of the best returners in the game, he is
:20:43. > :20:47.making Raonic weight in his first few minutes, so important,
:20:48. > :20:52.particularly for Raonic, to settle down. Stalking around the baseline
:20:53. > :20:54.in front of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Prime Minister,
:20:55. > :20:57.president of all the tennis federations from around the world,
:20:58. > :21:01.so many dignitaries. Here comes Murray.
:21:02. > :21:10.CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Taking his time!
:21:11. > :21:18.So here he goes, he wanted to serve first, a first Grand Slam final four
:21:19. > :21:59.Milos Raonic. Watch this delivery. He is in the lead. A great statement
:22:00. > :22:17.as well, first point, great return, looking to come forward.
:22:18. > :22:24.Raonic has served at 140 mph in this tournament, that was against Roger
:22:25. > :22:29.Federer, and the blood certainly causing around his system at the
:22:30. > :23:23.moment, he has opened up with two 139 mph deliveries.
:23:24. > :23:44.17 shots, number 16 caught the top of the net and just tested Raonic a
:23:45. > :23:58.little bit there, stayed on his toes.
:23:59. > :24:09.And that is some strong numbers, and excellent service game, a fine hold
:24:10. > :24:14.to settle him down. That was OK. It was exactly what he was after, he
:24:15. > :24:19.came out wanting to serve first. Andy Murray played a great first
:24:20. > :24:23.point, and he responded. He is going to have to serve really well today,
:24:24. > :24:28.but because Murray is such a good return, he will have to mix-up is
:24:29. > :24:34.serve, he cannot get too predictable, even with that first
:24:35. > :24:39.serve at that pace. Looking at Raonic's numbers, he serves 69%
:24:40. > :24:47.first serves in the court in his first six rounds. Serving 140 mph
:24:48. > :24:50.plus, making nearly seven out of ten - if those numbers stay like that,
:24:51. > :26:45.that is when it can get difficult for Murray.
:26:46. > :27:02.And there is the shot that has changed more than any other over the
:27:03. > :27:11.years. The willingness to take it on, Tim. I think that's a technique
:27:12. > :27:15.that Ivan Lendl has had an impact in, when the shoulder pulls off too
:27:16. > :27:36.early, staying right through the shot and finding his target.
:27:37. > :27:50.First serves every step of the way. There is Mac doing what he does
:27:51. > :27:52.best. This will be interesting, does he go into the body like he did
:27:53. > :28:13.against Federer a bit? He took a bit of that first serve.
:28:14. > :28:15.Andy had a good hit at it as well, and Milos came up with a lucky
:28:16. > :28:38.mis-hit volley. He hits from a peak of around about
:28:39. > :28:43.3.8 metres or so, 40 or 50 centimetres higher the ball comes
:28:44. > :29:26.down from compared to the Andy Murray delivery.
:29:27. > :29:37.Well, he's looking a little pushy. The approach there wasn't good
:29:38. > :29:42.enough, went straight back to him in the first volley and gave him
:29:43. > :29:48.another shot. Andy Murray is not always interested in getting the
:29:49. > :29:55.passing volley on the first ball, almost always interested in getting
:29:56. > :29:58.the second shot. Now that was the body serve and Murray was ready.
:29:59. > :30:05.That was an interesting confrontation.
:30:06. > :30:15.These are rare moments against Raonic, or they can be. He has only
:30:16. > :30:46.lost his serve on five occasions in 23 sets coming into this match.
:30:47. > :30:59.That forehand! And what of the kicking Mule of the serve into the
:31:00. > :31:01.corner as well. The first Israeli to ever win a Grand Slam, the man
:31:02. > :31:41.clapping, big supporter. It has been a great response so far.
:31:42. > :31:43.First mini question being asked at break point, second serve, gets it
:31:44. > :32:17.back to his game point. Talked about all the different match
:32:18. > :32:22.ups on the different tactics, I guess one we didn't talk about was
:32:23. > :32:30.the straight knockout. Write down the middle! This is his delivery,
:32:31. > :32:34.the fastest serve of the tournament, 144 against Federer. Most aces in
:32:35. > :32:40.the tournament, 137 coming into this. Just show me, point out some
:32:41. > :32:47.of the things on this delivery which are good. For starters, he's such a
:32:48. > :32:52.big guy which makes it easy to hit it, but he has a good old toss. He
:32:53. > :32:57.has the same ball toss for all of his serves as well so as a return it
:32:58. > :33:02.is difficult to anticipate which spot he will hit. Good knee bend and
:33:03. > :33:08.straight up, attacking the ball, hitting it at the highest point of
:33:09. > :33:12.contact. 3.8 metres is where he makes contact most of the time. So
:33:13. > :33:19.much power coming through your legs, but we know that in any sport, golf
:33:20. > :33:27.for example, tension is a killer. If you are gripping the racket or the
:33:28. > :33:30.golf club types, is not good. The wrist is ready to snap at the top,
:33:31. > :33:59.generate so much power. Half an hour ago I didn't think we
:34:00. > :34:17.would be talking about the sun causing problems. Now, certainly is.
:34:18. > :34:22.The northern end of the court where Murray is playing from, there is
:34:23. > :34:29.definitely a little bit of a breeze coming down the court. Murray taking
:34:30. > :35:00.a lot of his first serve there, only 90 mph.
:35:01. > :35:08.That's a smart shot, the change of pace backhand. He's a big guy, he
:35:09. > :35:11.has got to bend a long way to get under the ball to try to hit
:35:12. > :35:29.top-spin on it. Once again, Murray rolling the
:35:30. > :35:32.serving with good strength, but not an enormous mileage per hour. He has
:35:33. > :36:01.only missed one first serve so far. If you were going to talk about one
:36:02. > :36:06.specific weakness in Murray's game, you would look towards the second
:36:07. > :36:14.serve. I think it will be an interesting tactic that Murray wants
:36:15. > :36:16.to keep his high percentage at 85% first serves so Raonic doesn't get a
:36:17. > :36:40.look at the second serve. Tim is 100% right because that
:36:41. > :36:47.semifinal in Australia earlier this year, from the start Milos tried to
:36:48. > :36:53.use this big forehand return on Andy's second serve. That got into
:36:54. > :37:00.the situation where he was two sets to one up. I think that's why Andy
:37:01. > :37:01.is trying to take pace off and choose his spots, not giving him a
:37:02. > :37:20.look at his second serves. Settling in nicely for this Men's
:37:21. > :37:29.Singles final, just the single break point. To Andy Murray in Raonic's
:37:30. > :37:33.last service game, well saved with a big second serve. Football
:37:34. > :37:36.championships later this evening to look forward to, we have golf next
:37:37. > :38:51.week. Love summer. It's also interesting that mindset
:38:52. > :38:57.when Murray had of the break point in the last game, how he views that
:38:58. > :39:01.because he can say, that's good, I'm creating opportunities, but on the
:39:02. > :39:03.other side of the kind you can say, that is frustrating, I didn't take
:39:04. > :39:23.my chance. Andy Murray has been most people's
:39:24. > :39:27.pick since the beginning of the tournament, even more so when Novak
:39:28. > :39:36.Djokovic went and in round three. Yours as well? Yeah, he was, and it
:39:37. > :39:40.was a highly scientific reason... What was it? I will tell you what it
:39:41. > :39:44.was, I texted Andy before the tournament to say, good luck and
:39:45. > :39:52.have a great fortnight, and seven out of ten you do not get a reply,
:39:53. > :39:56.he is a busy boy, but... He doesn't reply to you?! But he got back and
:39:57. > :40:02.said, thanks, I have got a good feeling about this, with a little
:40:03. > :40:06.fist pump. He never says things like that, and I thought, wow, he is in a
:40:07. > :40:11.good place, he has been playing well, he fancies his chances. We
:40:12. > :40:15.would all like to wish the very best, and if he wins,
:40:16. > :40:24.congratulations, so what is his mobile number?! Becker and Edberg
:40:25. > :40:30.there, 1988, 1989, 1990, they shed three finals, and there is a lot of
:40:31. > :40:33.talking. Nicola Sturgeon as well, the First Minister of Scotland, the
:40:34. > :40:41.Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan. Roy
:40:42. > :40:46.Anderson, Neil Fraser, a couple of the Aussie greats. That is what
:40:47. > :40:50.really makes this tournament so special, I think, the opportunity to
:40:51. > :40:51.come out and play on one of the biggest stages in the sporting
:40:52. > :42:54.world. If there is a time when the tennis
:42:55. > :43:00.balls are going to be a little bit easier to return, on this enormous
:43:01. > :43:06.Raonic Raonic, it will be the last game before they get changed, and
:43:07. > :43:19.that is this game here. -- this enormous Raonic serve.
:43:20. > :43:25.Well, both guys have had a really solid start to this match, only the
:43:26. > :43:27.one half chance for Andy Murray, break point, receiving down the same
:43:28. > :43:44.and that he is now. -- same end. That was the volley that he missed
:43:45. > :43:50.out Queen's Club, just going behind his man. It was called in, but he
:43:51. > :43:54.challenged it. Remember it's changed the momentum, because he was a set
:43:55. > :44:07.and a break up in the final of Queen's against Murray.
:44:08. > :44:22.Warming up! I wonder if we will see 150 today, we could do.
:44:23. > :45:06.It is a way, Raonic trying to dance around his backhand to get the big
:45:07. > :45:54.forehand into play. Oh boy, oh boy, that was a bit of a
:45:55. > :46:00.bluff. He would love to have that one over again, the backhand went to
:46:01. > :46:07.such a solid pass by Andy Murray, just over hitting that one, two
:46:08. > :46:09.break points, he has ads second serves on both of them. -- he has
:46:10. > :46:47.had. Oh, this time!
:46:48. > :47:05.UMPIRE: New balls, please. 25 minutes played in this men's
:47:06. > :47:10.singles final at Wimbledon, first break to Murray. Interesting tactic
:47:11. > :47:15.from Raonic, both break points, the approach down the middle, trying to
:47:16. > :47:18.give Murray no angle on the passing shot, but once Murray had missed the
:47:19. > :47:23.first pass, there was no way he would miss the second one. Just
:47:24. > :47:28.nothing on this. Went to the forehand wing, he still had a volley
:47:29. > :47:34.but Miss hit it into the net. Andy was never going to miss that pass,
:47:35. > :47:39.he was always going to make him come up with a volley. How nice it must
:47:40. > :47:46.be for Andy Murray to see someone other than Federer or Djokovic down
:47:47. > :47:51.the other end! 11 slam finals, number 11 without one of those pesky
:47:52. > :47:54.guys. When Djokovic went out of the tournament, it was a real bombshell
:47:55. > :48:00.for the event, but he must absolutely loved it. Everybody's
:48:01. > :48:05.eyes lit up, let's be honest. Definitely, and you can see by his
:48:06. > :48:10.reaction there, a break in the first set, normal circumstances, a long
:48:11. > :48:13.way to go, good start, but he knows the importance of how few
:48:14. > :48:22.opportunities he will potentially get on Raonic's serve. So to get
:48:23. > :48:28.that out of the way is a huge start. Only the sixth time that Raonic has
:48:29. > :48:35.been broken, of course, number seven of the championships. Is similar to
:48:36. > :48:41.the semifinal against Tomas Berdych as well, with the record that he
:48:42. > :48:45.has, Andy Murray is such a heavy favourite, to get up that early
:48:46. > :48:49.break, if he can close out the first set, it makes it that much bigger a
:48:50. > :49:09.task to come back and win three out of the last four sets.
:49:10. > :49:13.It has happens down the same end, but is finally nice to have this
:49:14. > :49:48.problem here in London, the sun! At this northern end, the sun... It
:49:49. > :49:52.is about half past one, two o'clock, if you had a clock face, he will
:49:53. > :49:56.have to move the ball a little bit left, throw it a little bit left,
:49:57. > :50:16.you cannot get so much power on the ball.
:50:17. > :50:24.First ace in the match, that is how will Murray is returning. -- how
:50:25. > :52:11.well. Dusan and Vesna Raonic, both looking
:52:12. > :52:16.down proudly, both engineers, escape the conflict in Montenegro to find
:52:17. > :52:17.better job opportunities, give their children better opportunities in
:52:18. > :52:42.life, and now look. As a been as trademark during this
:52:43. > :52:45.grass court season, and here at Wimbledon, Raonic not going
:52:46. > :52:50.anywhere. Remember the Federer match, from 2-0 down, 2-0 down
:52:51. > :53:15.against David Goffin in the fourth round.
:53:16. > :53:22.Andy was a bit frustrated with himself, after two relatively easy
:53:23. > :53:26.backhands to get it back to deuce, but he realises how important it is
:53:27. > :53:56.to consolidate that break towards the end of this first set.
:53:57. > :54:02.It was a great response, wasn't it? We saw against Kyrgios, only six.
:54:03. > :54:07.Was in the whole match, eight against Berdych, so to see him make
:54:08. > :54:13.two in a row was a bit of a surprised. -- only six unforced
:54:14. > :55:32.errors. You can see already how high the
:55:33. > :55:37.second serve, the kick-serve gets up on Murray. He is trying to get
:55:38. > :55:40.inside the baseline, he shanked it, couldn't hit it clean. Doing it much
:55:41. > :56:23.better that time round. He's giving big Milos the runaround
:56:24. > :56:34.here, isn't he? The delicate stuff, the spins, drop shots. It's a torrid
:56:35. > :57:04.set now for Raonic, trying to hang in.
:57:05. > :57:27.Riccardo Piatti, and Carlos Moya of there. Route number one. First ace.
:57:28. > :57:36.When your biggest weapon is the serve, and it has taken 86 minutes
:57:37. > :57:40.to get one past him! That is not Milos serving poorly, that is how
:57:41. > :58:19.good Murray is making him play. Decent hold from 15-30 down. He will
:58:20. > :58:25.be a little nervous here, Andy Murray, won't he? Nice rhythm but it
:58:26. > :58:29.is 5-4, serving for it. He's certainly aware of the scoreline but
:58:30. > :58:34.he's very good with his experience, going back to the process, whether
:58:35. > :58:39.it is serving for the match or the sets, he has got to keep the
:58:40. > :58:44.percentage hike, hit his spots and keep Raonic on the defensive, and
:58:45. > :58:49.that's what he has done very well in the first set. He will look to close
:58:50. > :58:54.it out. He has only missed his first serve on five occasions on this
:58:55. > :58:58.first set. He hasn't put a foot wrong, he's given himself
:58:59. > :59:02.opportunities. You can see him going over his notes, he has done that
:59:03. > :59:07.every single change of ends. When they sit down for the first time,
:59:08. > :59:13.he's going over the exact game plan he and his coaching crew have worked
:59:14. > :59:23.on over the last two days, once they knew Milos was going to be the
:59:24. > :59:28.opponent in the final. At the Queen's Club he ended up getting on
:59:29. > :00:04.top of him from a set down, but so far everything is going to plan.
:00:05. > :00:12.For me it will be interesting to see how hard he hits his first serves
:00:13. > :00:17.this day. His only four points away from closing down such an important
:00:18. > :00:19.set. Does he try to get the cheap points or does he stick to the game
:00:20. > :02:24.plan? And that's that! That's very tidy,
:02:25. > :02:29.that's 41 minutes of first class play. At times from both, but it is
:02:30. > :02:45.Murray who wins it with that single break of serve and 3- three, he goes
:02:46. > :02:53.ahead. SUE BARKER: So Murray is in front.
:02:54. > :02:57.We knew he would have few chances to break the serve of Raonic but never
:02:58. > :03:03.doubt the returning skills of Andy Murray. He took his chance, got the
:03:04. > :03:09.break of serve and he is in front and now saying, you try and break
:03:10. > :03:14.me. I've never seen him look more determined, and here's one set up.
:03:15. > :03:19.Every part of his game working so well today, and Milos at the moment
:03:20. > :03:24.really struggling to match Murray. Murray is in the form of his life,
:03:25. > :03:31.so much better than in 2013. Judy knows that as well, and he's been
:03:32. > :03:36.sending messages to the crowd, and to his opponent that he is the man
:03:37. > :03:43.out there today. He is just two sets away from another when the --
:03:44. > :03:50.another Wimbledon title. Afterwards Heather Watson will be taking part
:03:51. > :03:54.in the mixed final. It is a big sporting day as well because coming
:03:55. > :04:00.up this evening it is the final of the Euros, Portugal against France,
:04:01. > :04:05.and Gary and the team will begin the at seven o'clock on BBC One. At the
:04:06. > :04:13.moment, all eyes are on Murray and he is front. ANDREW CASTLE: Out on
:04:14. > :04:18.Henman Hill they will be enjoying it, as soon as the gates open people
:04:19. > :04:22.take their position. Looking at the tennis on the big screen alongside
:04:23. > :04:32.Court Number One, which will have a roof over it in 2019, construction
:04:33. > :04:37.under way comparatively soon. That's where Andy Murray was practising a
:04:38. > :04:43.little bit earlier on. Now out on Centre Court in the sunshine, Raonic
:04:44. > :04:48.serving. And this is a very important 15 minutes in this match.
:04:49. > :04:53.Murray knows that if he can get a break of serve he can take his
:04:54. > :04:59.opponent by the scruff of the neck. Yes, he will be pushing really hard
:05:00. > :05:35.now, especially early on, the sun being an issue where Milos is.
:05:36. > :05:42.It is an area of Raonic's game that has impressed me throughout the
:05:43. > :05:48.tournament because he is a big man and sometimes you don't have the
:05:49. > :05:51.hand skills in different areas but he did well to bump that approach
:05:52. > :06:06.deep. What impresses me about Milos, he's
:06:07. > :06:10.such a hard worker, he's always wanting to improve areas of his game
:06:11. > :06:14.and that's why he's brought on Carlos Moya to bring another
:06:15. > :06:18.dimension. He's brought on John McEnroe to help on the grass. He
:06:19. > :06:40.wants to get better. Murray moving to cover that approach
:06:41. > :08:30.shot before Raonic even hit the ball.
:08:31. > :08:45.Desperate times now. Milos Raonic trying to be the first Canadian to
:08:46. > :08:51.win a Grand Slam singles title. Eugenie Bouchard in 2014 was a
:08:52. > :09:11.finalist of course, but feeling the pressure.
:09:12. > :09:17.140 mph first serve, Murray got himself into the point. Meg so few
:09:18. > :09:19.unforced errors in the whole tournament, he would be mighty
:09:20. > :10:06.disappointed if he made one there. And that is what has really
:10:07. > :10:11.improved, getting down for that low volley, that is not easy, Tim.
:10:12. > :10:14.Certainly not, and that is where Murray was trying to make life
:10:15. > :10:42.difficult for him, Raonic dealt with it well.
:10:43. > :10:49.Lovely! Versatility from Milos Raonic, and what an important four
:10:50. > :10:57.or five minutes that was, his coach standing up to applaud a great old,
:10:58. > :11:14.he needed that. -- hold. Just the willingness to take a bit of pace
:11:15. > :11:23.off, it certainly paid off, who had a peck at the serve. David Cameron
:11:24. > :11:28.on the left, talking with Mary, not a bad player himself, left-handed.
:11:29. > :11:36.He beat Nick Clegg the last three times he played him, and Boris
:11:37. > :11:41.Johnson as well! Nicola Sturgeon, the First Minister of Scotland, in
:11:42. > :11:47.attendance behind the presidents of the club, the new mayor London, as
:11:48. > :12:11.well as the Duke and Duchess. I think Raonic has to find a way to
:12:12. > :12:16.get into some of Andy Murray's service games, he is getting through
:12:17. > :12:21.them to easily at the moment. That will build pressure on the Raonic
:12:22. > :12:26.service games. If he makes so many first serves, he will have to have a
:12:27. > :14:01.go at the first server turn a little bit more.
:14:02. > :14:09.We still haven't managed to work out why the end that Murray is serving
:14:10. > :14:16.from is more worn out around and behind the baseline than the other
:14:17. > :14:54.end. We spoke to the ground staff, they don't know either.
:14:55. > :15:01.One area we felt that Raonic would be looking to have an impact as
:15:02. > :15:08.Murray's second serve, and in 53 minutes, that is only the ten second
:15:09. > :15:10.serve that Raonic has had a look at. -- tenth. Murray's first serve
:15:11. > :15:33.percentage - 70. For the tournament, he has been
:15:34. > :15:37.making six out of ten first serves, in this match seven out of ten. It
:15:38. > :15:42.is the small margins, just not opening the door for Raonic to get a
:15:43. > :15:48.break of serve and get involved in this match, it is certainly not
:15:49. > :15:50.one-way traffic, but the dominant force out there at the moment is
:15:51. > :16:08.Andy Murray. Murray has been able to win points
:16:09. > :16:11.on Raonic's service game as well, so he hasn't been under too much
:16:12. > :16:16.pressure, where sometimes the tension can build. You might end up
:16:17. > :18:25.going for it a little bit too much on first serves.
:18:26. > :18:32.So he keeps his nose in front in the second set, Raonic, but what he is
:18:33. > :18:36.serving against, these Murray returns, the positions he takes up,
:18:37. > :18:42.it is so, so difficult, and it exerts pressure. What you want when
:18:43. > :18:47.you are returning, you want be returning with instinct, the first
:18:48. > :18:51.serve at the top, one big step in and split, sync your weight on the
:18:52. > :18:57.return, that way you can push up. Second serve, Lleyton Hewitt, you
:18:58. > :19:01.will love this. I wasn't inside the baseline that far, especially on the
:19:02. > :19:06.second serve. I don't think the camera gives it justice, how good a
:19:07. > :19:10.hand you have got to have to be giving Milos Raonic a second serve
:19:11. > :19:18.so many times into play by being a couple of feet inside the baseline.
:19:19. > :19:23.And this one here, Lleyton, he hasn't played Milos Raonic's serve,
:19:24. > :19:28.that is how well he is returning. The 72% is more impressive than the
:19:29. > :19:32.73, because of the fact it is the final and because of his opponent.
:19:33. > :19:35.Spot-on, and that makes it hard for Milos Raonic, because he cannot
:19:36. > :19:41.practice against anyone who returns the ball is so often, only two guys
:19:42. > :19:45.can do a - he would have to get Novak out to serve a few against
:19:46. > :19:54.them. So many balls coming back that he is not used to playing. You could
:19:55. > :20:00.get out there! Known to make some serve and volley as have nightmares!
:20:01. > :20:06.Don't you shake your head, either! Sun breaks, second set. -- so no
:20:07. > :21:24.breaks. UMPIRE: Mr Murray is challenging the
:21:25. > :21:34.call on the left centre service line, the ball was called out.
:21:35. > :22:00.Second serve, Mr Murray has two challenges remaining.
:22:01. > :22:07.Well, Andy was just under no pressure on his service games at
:22:08. > :22:10.all, it is all one-way traffic here. Not a great feeling when you feel
:22:11. > :22:21.like you are spending the whole match serving because you'll serve
:22:22. > :22:33.is under so much pressure. -- your serve.
:22:34. > :22:44.That approach as hit the back of the baseline there, as you can see, it's
:22:45. > :22:47.just props on Andy. When it does hit the line, it does check up a little
:22:48. > :22:52.bit more, you have to be prepared for that. He will be happy it
:22:53. > :25:12.happened at 40-0. Well, obviously, importantly keeps
:25:13. > :25:17.his nose ahead, break point in the very first game of the second set
:25:18. > :25:25.against daily Raonic delivery, he survived that one. His progress
:25:26. > :25:28.continues, losing to Roger Federer previously, was not prepared for
:25:29. > :25:33.that, according to Carlos Moya. Earlier this year, he was 2-1 up
:25:34. > :25:37.against Andy Murray in the semifinal of the Australian Open, he was the
:25:38. > :25:41.man of the moments down in Australia, won nine matches,
:25:42. > :25:45.Brisbane as well. But Carlos Moya happy to say, look, it is all about
:25:46. > :25:47.progression, rarely do you step in and win the first one where you have
:25:48. > :25:56.a real shot. That is certainly what it has been
:25:57. > :26:00.with Milos Raonic. He has tried to improve and bring people on board.
:26:01. > :26:05.He pointed out early on that movement was one of the key areas.
:26:06. > :26:08.That was the big difference down in Australia, in making that semifinal
:26:09. > :26:11.and winning the Brisbane International couple of weeks
:26:12. > :26:15.beforehand and beating Roger Federer. His movement around the
:26:16. > :26:18.baseline was so much cleaner. He was able to get around and use his
:26:19. > :26:23.forehand and hide the backhand which is sometimes a weakness of his. Not
:26:24. > :26:33.surprisingly, his hero is the ice hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. I like
:26:34. > :26:45.the fact that the losses continuing to look for these marginal gains.
:26:46. > :26:49.Still windy. Andy Murray has had five first throw the ball up on
:26:50. > :26:50.first serve and has just pulled so blustery wind and some sun to deal
:26:51. > :27:26.with. Definitely a little bit breezy out
:27:27. > :27:33.there. Looking at Raonic's serving performance for the tournament up
:27:34. > :28:08.until this match, only two today were averaging seven a set.
:28:09. > :28:15.Why would you want to run around that and get your big forehand into
:28:16. > :28:22.play when you can strike it that well? This is what he has got to
:28:23. > :28:26.keep trying to do. He went for it, but just mis-hit it it. He has to
:28:27. > :28:34.keep pressing and play on the edge if he's to get back this match. --
:28:35. > :29:12.if he is to get back into this match.
:29:13. > :29:15.Disappointing from the royal box. You have got to be alert, catches
:29:16. > :29:38.with matches! Who fumbled it? I think I will have
:29:39. > :29:43.to check before I criticise. Probably Neil Fraser. He is sitting
:29:44. > :29:51.a few rows back. And he is Australian. The Australians couldn't
:29:52. > :29:54.catch a cold at the moment, could they? We are the number one test
:29:55. > :30:27.team. They are changing the balls here,
:30:28. > :30:32.50,000 of them used at the Championships. It goes up in the
:30:33. > :30:41.royal box... Well, there are several there. Nicely done in the end.
:30:42. > :31:20.Richard Baker. Good player. It was at this stage in the first
:31:21. > :31:22.set that Andy Murray broke through. The only thing he will break if he
:31:23. > :31:43.does that is his foot. He knew the importance of that first
:31:44. > :32:00.point, trying to establish himself in the game.
:32:01. > :32:42.New balls here as well. Second ball change of the match.
:32:43. > :32:56.That is five feet inside the baseline, isn't it?
:32:57. > :33:04.Now, that's how he got through Federer in the semifinal. As Pat
:33:05. > :33:28.Cash was telling us beforehand, 137 miles an hour, rising into the body.
:33:29. > :33:34.Serving and volleying behind this enormous delivery, and he is only
:33:35. > :33:36.winning half the points when he comes in. He was walking through
:33:37. > :34:02.that volley. Even though the server was 139 miles
:34:03. > :34:03.an hour, it wasn't well-placed. Murray felt like he could have
:34:04. > :34:48.blocked it back into play. Such a clever pass here. He's not
:34:49. > :34:51.going for too much, trying to make sure he gets the ball at the feet
:34:52. > :35:22.and if it comes back, ready to chase down the second ball.
:35:23. > :35:28.That is magnificent. The artistry on the backhand side from Murray, and
:35:29. > :35:35.he is really bashing on the door now. The first backhand was
:35:36. > :35:42.delicious, and the second one also. Perfect placement on this, making
:35:43. > :36:21.him stretch out enough. Gives himself another break point.
:36:22. > :36:34.Did he say forehand that? Didn't do enough with it. Neither of them did.
:36:35. > :36:38.Raonic would have been looking to do more with the approach shot that he
:36:39. > :38:07.made Murray play. Murray not able to execute the past. -- the pass.
:38:08. > :38:15.That is another big cold of serve for Raonic, who has not played
:38:16. > :38:20.badly. Such is the power of his game and such are the array of skills
:38:21. > :38:24.that he actually does bring, the sheer physical nature of his play
:38:25. > :38:29.means he is four big hits from getting a break. It can happen
:38:30. > :38:34.quickly. It certainly can, and that was when Murray was able to get the
:38:35. > :38:37.advantage and get on top. Having had opportunities in that vital seventh
:38:38. > :38:40.game and not taken them, you feel there was a bit of momentum with
:38:41. > :38:45.Raonic. He will be looking to see whether he can get his first break
:38:46. > :38:51.of serve. Always a band flow in a five set match. It is never
:38:52. > :39:05.straightforward. You felt it was swinging in and the's favour. -- in
:39:06. > :39:14.Andy's favour. Everyone has travelling videos these days --
:39:15. > :39:26.physios. We are not expecting any rain. Certainly nothing that would
:39:27. > :39:54.mean bringing this 1000 tonne roof over for any length of time.
:39:55. > :40:02.Good play by Raonic. Not only able to get the first serve back into
:40:03. > :40:06.play, but also getting around and using his forehand to get on top of
:40:07. > :40:10.the point. It is important to try and put some scoreboard pressure on
:40:11. > :40:38.early in Andy Murray's service games.
:40:39. > :40:44.It was the right tactic, but it didn't really look like he chose
:40:45. > :40:48.where he wanted to go. Was he trying to go inside out, was he trying to
:40:49. > :41:01.hook it down the line? He missed it by a long way.
:41:02. > :41:06.Sometimes in this sport, especially grass court tennis, it is only one
:41:07. > :41:10.or two points. That was one of the weaker second service by Murray,
:41:11. > :41:23.middle of the box, straight to the forehand.
:41:24. > :43:21.Turning to his right, Andy Murray, looking up at the players box,
:43:22. > :44:44.perhaps asking for more vocal support?
:44:45. > :45:10.It might not be the most significant point in the match but Murray is
:45:11. > :45:18.always sending messages. He is chasing down every ball.
:45:19. > :45:30.CHEERING That one has become a bit more
:45:31. > :45:34.significant. Why around which did not take that out of the with his
:45:35. > :45:38.overhead, his overhead is superb, I know it was a high lob on that point
:45:39. > :45:40.but that is a little bit of good fortune. It was high enough to go
:45:41. > :46:18.over. Oh, just wide. The arms come out.
:46:19. > :46:25.Passing shot from Murray, asking a very difficult question and the long
:46:26. > :46:29.arm of the law came out. Mills Raonic, just spreading, oh, and it's
:46:30. > :46:30.caught the line. He's going to be so upset with that. Three millimetres
:46:31. > :46:43.in. Replay the point. Jake Garner it from Florida in the
:46:44. > :46:51.chair. The second Wimbledon final for him.
:46:52. > :47:09.Not coming in on that. 147 mph, into the body, the quickest serve of the
:47:10. > :47:13.tournament by far. And he still lost the point! Yeah! What a passing
:47:14. > :48:33.shot. Oh, he has left it and it has fallen
:48:34. > :48:38.in, has it? Milos is challenging but I think this might have caught the
:48:39. > :48:45.line. It is tight. It was called in and it has caught the outside edge
:48:46. > :48:51.and gives him another break point. UMPIRE: Advantage, Murray, Mr Ramage
:48:52. > :49:06.has two challenges remaining. Please. Thank you. -- Mr Raonic.
:49:07. > :49:19.CROWD GASPS And once again, 141 mph, fended off.
:49:20. > :50:02.Incredible how cleanly Murray hits these returns.
:50:03. > :50:18.APPLAUSE Well... What a hold of serve that
:50:19. > :50:20.was from Raonic, superb. This was Allan Donald bowling to Mike
:50:21. > :50:24.Atherton, if you remember that, there was a sequence in there that
:50:25. > :50:27.was absolutely phenomenal, brilliant work from Milos Raonic to come
:50:28. > :50:33.through that and he certainly was not expecting it. Listen to this, a
:50:34. > :50:34.147 mph first serve, and Murray winning the point. Have a look at
:50:35. > :50:50.this. That was absolutely stunning, that
:50:51. > :50:54.he is able to do that and yet, not break serve, so we applaud Milos
:50:55. > :50:58.Raonic for coming through the fire, there, and Andy gagged a bit, to be
:50:59. > :51:03.honest, choked. Knew was a bit tight on some of the shots, the sliced
:51:04. > :51:06.backhand, the miss it forehand, and he reflect on the matter that Raonic
:51:07. > :51:12.came through against Federer in the semifinals, down 2-1, 5-4 in the
:51:13. > :51:16.fourth set, Federer had 15-40 and he got himself out of trouble and then
:51:17. > :51:21.choked in the next game. It is important Andy put that behind him,
:51:22. > :51:24.that last game. He had his opportunities but he has got to get
:51:25. > :51:33.up and down and continue to do a good job with his serve.
:51:34. > :51:40.I must add mitt, I thought you were stretching it a bit, Andrew, at the
:51:41. > :51:45.beginning of the match when you said maybe we could have 150. It might be
:51:46. > :51:49.there, as the Deborah Joe Wardle is up and the excitement builds. 4-5,
:51:50. > :52:03.second set. -- as the temperature warms up.
:52:04. > :52:10.UMPIRE: Mr Murray is challenging the call on the right baseline. The ball
:52:11. > :52:14.was called out. Lovely start for Milos Raonic if baseball has landed
:52:15. > :52:19.deep. He looks a little disappointed, as his box just
:52:20. > :52:23.indicates that it was likely to be called out and Hawk-Eye confirms it.
:52:24. > :52:28.Mr Murray has won Challenger mining. My lost sticking to his game plan as
:52:29. > :53:39.well, coming forward and asking questions. -- Milos.
:53:40. > :53:46.Sometimes come you just want if Raonic could just drop one in short,
:53:47. > :53:50.perhaps, to play something, move in behind it or something a little
:53:51. > :53:51.different? At the moment, Murray is picking him off from the back of the
:53:52. > :54:10.court. We spoke about it earlier, in the
:54:11. > :54:13.first set, if Andy keeps on giving himself opportunities to break, how
:54:14. > :54:15.positive can he stay that he is building pressure but not letting
:54:16. > :54:18.the frustration of not always getting the break of serve? This is
:54:19. > :54:23.the time where he's really had to block it out because in his mind, he
:54:24. > :54:25.would be hoping to serve for a 2-0 lead. Doing really well in this game
:54:26. > :55:36.now. UMPIRE: Let, first service. Oh, you're joking. That is superb.
:55:37. > :55:42.Just lowering the racket head down on that one and using what spin
:55:43. > :55:51.there was from Murray, just a little bit of top-spin to use. It is not
:55:52. > :55:53.ten out of ten, that one. But it was a good time to make it on the first
:55:54. > :57:09.point of the game. Perfect game, starting with that
:57:10. > :57:16.delightful backhand volley and finishing with the high version.
:57:17. > :57:20.That gives him something to work with at the beginning of the next
:57:21. > :57:26.game. Finally, a comfortable hold. Half of his service games, he has
:57:27. > :57:29.had break point against. Plus, we always got this has the potential to
:57:30. > :57:35.have a couple of tie-breakers within the five sets. Now he has got
:57:36. > :57:39.himself at least to that stage where it is a bit of a shoot-out. No one
:57:40. > :57:46.wins more tie-breaks on tour than Milos Raonic, apart from John Isner.
:57:47. > :57:54.Checking out the head to head with Murray and Raonic when they have
:57:55. > :59:04.played tie-breaks, they have played five, and Raonic has won four.
:59:05. > :59:12.It's good to be aggressive on second serve. But it's easier to drag it
:59:13. > :59:14.down the line than trying to go off. Absolutely. There is a lot more
:59:15. > :59:44.margin for error too. Andy misses this backhand passing
:59:45. > :00:05.shot, only just. Raonic was a bit fortunate with the mis-hit return.
:00:06. > :00:10.That is the right tactic and the right shot. Just couldn't quite find
:00:11. > :01:27.the target. An 11th Grand Slam final four Andy
:01:28. > :01:40.Murray. He has put himself into position so
:01:41. > :01:43.many times. He has lost the last three. He could take a huge step
:01:44. > :01:47.towards the title if he could win justice breaker. -- just this
:01:48. > :02:16.breaker. Nice mis-hit. That is very poor from
:02:17. > :02:22.Raonic, it has to be said. Raonic benefited from the mis-hit earlier
:02:23. > :02:27.in Murray's last service game. Raonic did not deal well with the
:02:28. > :02:28.approach. Buried it in the bottom of the net. Early mini-break for
:02:29. > :02:53.Murray. Just too tough from Murray.
:02:54. > :03:12.Stretches the big man. He knew how important it was to hold
:03:13. > :03:15.onto that mini-break after being given a bit of a gift in the first
:03:16. > :03:41.one, especially said against such a big server.
:03:42. > :03:48.Two first serves, consolidate the break 3-0. He will be looking for
:03:49. > :04:59.more mini-breaks here. Oh, you're joking, that is two! Oh,
:05:00. > :05:03.boy, can he move. Surprised the world box have got on their feet for
:05:04. > :05:09.that one. I would like to see that -- the royal box. Once again, Raonic
:05:10. > :05:15.electing to hit the bounce smash, and Murray read him like a book. I
:05:16. > :05:18.think he's got to let it bounce. Murray has did well to hit the log
:05:19. > :05:21.so high to give himself the opportunity to get back in the
:05:22. > :06:04.rally, but Raonic then has to do more with the smash.
:06:05. > :06:10.He hasn't put a foot wrong in this tie-breaks so far, going up 5-1 at
:06:11. > :06:14.the 10th of tents. The point before, to get up that double mini-break,
:06:15. > :06:18.the effort he put in at the back of the court to stay in the rally, keep
:06:19. > :06:22.asking the question is, that is why you do all the hard work in the
:06:23. > :06:27.preseason and the start of the year. He is physically so tough to break
:06:28. > :06:34.down out there right now. It pays off on the biggest stage. That is a
:06:35. > :06:39.rare sight. The next couple of minutes could
:06:40. > :08:56.determine this Wimbledon final. Deep second serve. He went for it,
:08:57. > :09:03.and he's taken a down step towards a second Wimbledon title here. Two
:09:04. > :09:17.sets up, 6-4, 7-6 after an hour and 47. Just one more will do the trick.
:09:18. > :09:20.SUE BARKER: so, two sets up. Murray not happy, but he should be happy
:09:21. > :09:23.when he looks at the scoreboard because that was this an sessional
:09:24. > :09:27.tie-break. We were worried when Tim was telling us he had only won one
:09:28. > :09:31.out of five tie-breaks in previous matches, but this was a whole new
:09:32. > :09:35.Andy Murray. Raonic certainly will not want to look back at that first
:09:36. > :09:40.point in the tie-break. That really was a bad miss. But Murray took it.
:09:41. > :09:45.He went 3-0 up and then got better and better. He has looked like a
:09:46. > :09:49.brick wall at the back of the court. Nothing has got past him. He is
:09:50. > :09:55.swatting back these serves of over 140 mph. Murray has never looked
:09:56. > :09:59.more focused, and he's focused on winning his second Wimbledon title.
:10:00. > :10:02.He is now just one set away. What a different feeling that must be
:10:03. > :10:08.former loss Raonic now, knowing he has got to win in five. Three long
:10:09. > :10:14.sets for the Canadian, but just one set for Andy Murray to claim a
:10:15. > :10:26.second Wimbledon title. And Judy is happy too. And our old rising on
:10:27. > :10:31.Henman Hill as well, watching the British number one take it to have
:10:32. > :10:33.an zero to lead. We have Heather Watson coming up later on Centre
:10:34. > :10:41.Court for the Mixed Doubles final hole and a big day of sport because
:10:42. > :10:42.the Euro final, Portugal versus France, is at seven o'clock on BBC
:10:43. > :10:53.One. And more tennis next week, the
:10:54. > :10:56.quarterfinal of the Davis Cup, Serbia against Great Britain, no
:10:57. > :11:00.Novak Djokovic and we will find out if Andy Murray will play soon after
:11:01. > :11:04.the final. Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the quarterfinal of the
:11:05. > :11:12.Davis Cup but here, Murray is in charge, 2-0 up in sets and one away
:11:13. > :11:18.from a second title. ANDREW CASTLE: And Mills Raonic has not had a break
:11:19. > :11:22.point yet. The tie-break was all Murray, and he had the chances in
:11:23. > :11:26.that set. Just in case we start celebrating a bit too early, Bridges
:11:27. > :11:29.Richter here, in the sunshine, let me just say that Raonic, for the
:11:30. > :11:33.first time in his career in this tournament, in the fourth round,
:11:34. > :11:39.came from two sets down to beat David Goffin. So that gives you a
:11:40. > :11:43.sense of invincibility when you do that, and against Federer, he was
:11:44. > :11:50.two sets to one down as well, so a long way to go. Various people have
:11:51. > :11:57.popped out and they will pop back in again, no doubt. Ivan Lendl. He has
:11:58. > :12:03.gone out, and Benedict Cumberbatch, there, with his wife, Sophie, baby
:12:04. > :12:09.Chris Bourne last year, at home, giving mum and dad an afternoon off.
:12:10. > :12:12.-- Chris, born last year. David Cameron, there, the Prime Minister
:12:13. > :12:17.with Mary, his mum. Yes, that's right, that's Mary. It is a good
:12:18. > :12:26.royal box today. Lily James, the actress. Also in the royal box this
:12:27. > :12:31.afternoon. 41 matches stray, once upon a time, yawn ball, there, with
:12:32. > :12:38.his wife Patricia. -- matches straight.
:12:39. > :12:48.A nice selection of watches up there today. Milos just taking a couple of
:12:49. > :12:53.minutes away, here. Just a reminder on the Davis Cup, by the way, next
:12:54. > :12:57.week, Friday, Saturday and Sunday across BBC TV and radio, no Viktor
:12:58. > :13:02.Troicki which is also crucial, the number two Serbian. The British
:13:03. > :13:05.Davis Cup team have already left and they will be in Belgrade by now,
:13:06. > :13:10.getting ready for the clay-court tie. I don't think Leon Smith, the
:13:11. > :13:16.captain, for a moment think that Andy Murray will be there. What with
:13:17. > :13:20.the Olympics and the US Open build-up as well, I think he is
:13:21. > :13:28.probably expecting Andy Murray to pull out, which would be a shame.
:13:29. > :13:32.The Canadians lost this year to France under the captaincy of
:13:33. > :13:35.Yannick Budd, playing in Guadeloupe, in the Caribbean. That was a great
:13:36. > :13:41.shout from Yannick Noah, a nice part of the world to go and play your
:13:42. > :13:44.home tie! They will have a world group play-off match, Canada, in
:13:45. > :13:48.September. Lleyton Hewitt, captain of the Australian Davis Cup team
:13:49. > :13:51.pulled up how was your year, what do you play next? We went down to the
:13:52. > :13:56.US in the first round, playing on a temporary grass court, in pretty
:13:57. > :14:00.much the home of Australian tennis for so many years, but we are
:14:01. > :14:05.waiting until September now to play in the play-offs. Obviously, we were
:14:06. > :14:07.disappointed to get knocked out but we did not have our best team
:14:08. > :14:37.either, which made it slightly tougher.
:14:38. > :14:45.Murray, making his feelings felt, there, about how long Raonic what of
:14:46. > :14:50.the court, for -- was off the court for. The first double faults of the
:14:51. > :15:27.match for Murray, only his seventh of the tournament.
:15:28. > :15:37.By which, it was good. Replay the point. -- UMPIRE: Correction, it was
:15:38. > :15:40.good, replay the point. Murray fortunate coming year, 0-15 down and
:15:41. > :15:45.Raonic came up with a great crosscourt forehand to drag him out
:15:46. > :15:46.of play. Got called out by the line judge but a quick overall from Jake
:15:47. > :16:13.Garner, in the chair. -- overrule. APPLAUSE
:16:14. > :16:19.It was a fairly lengthy delay in between sets, when Milos went and
:16:20. > :16:24.looked like he'd changed shorts and shirt as well. But I think he's just
:16:25. > :16:28.trying to regroup and focus. He knows if he goes down an early break
:16:29. > :16:33.in this third set, then the final could be over.
:16:34. > :16:41.APPLAUSE When you leave the court, you are
:16:42. > :16:49.escorted by one of the officials. But changing clothing? I think 2-0
:16:50. > :16:53.down in sets, he was probably trying to look to break up the rhythm
:16:54. > :16:54.little bit. Just pop up to Wimbledon Common and have a little look
:16:55. > :17:52.around! Ma'am was very happy to say earlier
:17:53. > :17:54.in the build-up to the final that his dad was never a coach, just a
:17:55. > :18:24.ball machine fella. -- his ma'am. The final of the Australian Open for
:18:25. > :18:28.the fifth time earlier this year, losing to Novak Djokovic, Andy
:18:29. > :18:31.Murray, and his first final of the French Open recently at Roland
:18:32. > :18:34.Garros, there are four majors every year in our sport. He got up there
:18:35. > :18:46.but lost to Novak once again. It has been quite some time since
:18:47. > :18:50.Murray, despite being so close, so many times, has actually captured
:18:51. > :18:52.one of these championships. No Canadian has ever won grand slam
:18:53. > :19:31.singles title. -- a grand slam. Again, great retrieving from Murray
:19:32. > :19:37.but there's no way that Raonic should be losing that point.
:19:38. > :19:39.Opportunities to put the ball away and down 0-15, he's immediately
:19:40. > :21:19.under pressure. Two really good responses here by
:21:20. > :21:22.Milos Raonic. Down 0-15, and trouble in a rally from the baseline, looked
:21:23. > :21:37.to come in, the next two points. A big change of pace on the first
:21:38. > :21:53.serve, only 107, kick-serve out wide, serve-volley.
:21:54. > :22:04.APPLAUSE UMPIRE: New balls, please.
:22:05. > :22:13.New tennis balls, and therefore, a new tennis racket or a new string
:22:14. > :22:16.anywhere, for Milos Raonic. They are installed at 68 Fahrenheit, exactly,
:22:17. > :22:21.the tennis balls that are coming out now. -- they are stored. The used
:22:22. > :22:27.once, some of them are sold at the ground and some of them go to clubs.
:22:28. > :22:34.If Raonic has been serving with them, you might want to try to
:22:35. > :22:58.negotiate. The new mayor of London, there.
:22:59. > :24:13.It's funny, Andy Murray turned around after winning that point
:24:14. > :24:20.because he heard a roar from Milos Raonic, screaming at himself. So
:24:21. > :24:23.accustomed to the big Canadian showing no emotion out there, that's
:24:24. > :24:25.the second time today he's been really frustrated that he hasn't
:24:26. > :24:45.been able to keep an easy ball in play.
:24:46. > :25:56.Over two hours of play in this Wimbledon final. I don't know
:25:57. > :26:00.whether John McEnroe, who is coaching Milos Raonic, or a least
:26:01. > :26:05.coaching, I suspect that will go on, but I don't know whether he will
:26:06. > :26:11.have access to what they show here. Murray's first serve placement here,
:26:12. > :26:15.gents, points won are in the yellow. He has won 100% of the points.
:26:16. > :26:22.Either brilliant coaching, or just great tactics. Out wide on the deuce
:26:23. > :26:25.caught, 100% when he goes out wide. Saronic's forehand against the
:26:26. > :26:30.Murray first serve, totally ineffectual today. Raonic is just
:26:31. > :26:39.trying to take a big swing from the side as well. So he is not catching
:26:40. > :26:44.it as cleanly as he probably hoped. Down the outside, that is Andy
:26:45. > :26:48.Murray's go to serve. Used it against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and hit
:26:49. > :26:55.it perfectly against Tomas Berdych, and he has continued today. Tim, 86%
:26:56. > :26:59.first serve points won. It has been an efficient performance, as well as
:27:00. > :27:05.some highlights from Andy Murray. It certainly has. He has delivered in
:27:06. > :27:12.the key departments. Winners to unforeseen errors, 27 winners, just
:27:13. > :27:15.seven unforced errors. I think if you were trying to build a game plan
:27:16. > :27:20.against Murray, I think you have got to force him to serve in the other
:27:21. > :27:23.direction. You have to cover the one at the middle to make him hit up 34
:27:24. > :27:29.out wide. To try and get him to move away from
:27:30. > :28:56.those go to serves. Gutsy play from Raonic, because it
:28:57. > :29:00.is easy when you see passing shots keep going by you, to give up on
:29:01. > :29:26.that tactic. But he still has to have the belief to move forward.
:29:27. > :29:33.Andy Murray doing so well. Another big serve, trying to get it back in
:29:34. > :29:35.play. Raonic had to play a high backhand volley. He couldn't do
:29:36. > :30:02.enough with it. Not to be this time for Murray. It
:30:03. > :30:07.is unbelievable. It is the return, the fact that Raonic is coming back.
:30:08. > :30:50.He knows it. That is really good from him,
:30:51. > :30:57.because with a missed forehand volley, under pressure, to lose his
:30:58. > :31:01.serve and potentially his shot at Wimbledon, but he came out with some
:31:02. > :31:11.great serving, sticking with what he does best.
:31:12. > :31:20.He served 537 first serves in this championship, Raonic, and he has
:31:21. > :31:33.come to the net behind 173. Murray 398, and he has come in twice.
:31:34. > :31:39.Raonic wins the first point of the Murray game again. Let's see if he
:31:40. > :31:46.is edging and looking for the swinging serve on this point. It is
:31:47. > :31:47.the one we just showed for that Andy Murray has had so much success with
:31:48. > :32:09.today. Would you believe it? There you go.
:32:10. > :32:45.First time he has got the serve down the middle and lost the point.
:32:46. > :32:53.Good serve from Murray but again, Raonic has got to head over that
:32:54. > :33:31.where little bit. The coach knows this is a moment
:33:32. > :33:33.now. Right out of the middle. Big forehand return, but only 82 miles
:33:34. > :33:52.an hour on that second serve. It is the first break point that
:33:53. > :33:59.Raonic has had this match. This is the second. Milos was looking for
:34:00. > :34:01.the one out wide. He got a bit lucky. He was too far ahead of the
:34:02. > :34:37.ball. You can almost sense the tension in
:34:38. > :35:12.the crowd. He played him back in, Raonic. Great
:35:13. > :35:32.pass. He has got the crowd fired up and
:35:33. > :36:03.now he wants his box to fire up. UMPIRE: Game, Murray. Well, unless
:36:04. > :36:11.they get that pom-poms out, what are they supposed to do? He's just
:36:12. > :36:15.needing something from that, isn't he? Any sort of communication. Is
:36:16. > :36:21.that what happens, is that a habit? Or is that something he needs or is
:36:22. > :36:26.useful to him at this point? Well, he is using it the right way. That
:36:27. > :36:32.was a massive game. He could feel the pressure. It is really game on
:36:33. > :36:40.again in this third set. He is trying to draw everything out of the
:36:41. > :36:47.crowd. He is as positive as can be at the moment. But he knows he is
:36:48. > :36:57.possibly only a breakaway from turning this match. You used to know
:36:58. > :37:20.-- you used to let your player box no.
:37:21. > :39:02.That is how good Andy Murray's hands are, able still to fight it off. The
:39:03. > :39:05.change-up is normally a slower delivery. That one, he just pushed
:39:06. > :39:45.through a bit quicker. That hold of serve was really worthy
:39:46. > :40:40.of respect after the disappointment of the game before.
:40:41. > :41:58.A really good first serve, a cheap point after the double faults.
:41:59. > :42:47.Two hours and 21 minutes played and Raonic cannot break this Andy Murray
:42:48. > :42:50.serve. Two sets to love to Andy Murray, congratulations to Gordon
:42:51. > :42:54.Reid, British success already today in the wheelchair singles end, the
:42:55. > :42:58.first time they have taken place in this particular discipline, he has
:42:59. > :43:03.beaten Stefan Olsson. Amazing story, the wheelchair tennis players,
:43:04. > :43:07.wonderful to know. He lost the use of his legs ten years ago through
:43:08. > :43:11.transfers myelitis and this year, has won the Austrian open and the
:43:12. > :43:15.first wobbled in championship. Jordanne Whiley, another great
:43:16. > :43:20.story, the top seeds have won the ladies wheelchair doubles, she and
:43:21. > :43:25.Yui Kamiji. And in the juniors, Alex De Minaur, one of yours, an
:43:26. > :43:29.Australian? Yes, a young 17-year-old, went down in a very
:43:30. > :43:33.tight match today, 6-3 in the third. He has had a really good week,
:43:34. > :43:41.though. His first junior grand slam final. The 1973 champion, there.
:43:42. > :43:55.That was the year of the boycott, 13 of the top 16 did not play. Dinesh
:43:56. > :44:01.Belova 's of Canada, the victory in the junior boys. There is Stan, such
:44:02. > :44:33.memories of him leaping over the net on this court.
:44:34. > :45:56.APPLAUSE How many times have we seen quick
:45:57. > :45:59.service returned just as quick? It about hand eye coordination and that
:46:00. > :46:58.man is, whisper it, six points away. APPLAUSE
:46:59. > :47:02.Well, it never got up high enough to hit it on the bounce overhead this
:47:03. > :47:06.time. Great defence again. This is the one. Milos has a good look at
:47:07. > :47:23.it... He comes through again. He has done
:47:24. > :47:34.himself proud in this final, no matter what happens.
:47:35. > :47:41.There was a couple of clutch ground strokes by him at 30-30, a great
:47:42. > :47:47.backhand down the line, and then had the courage to back himself again
:47:48. > :47:48.with a big forehand approach. Must be on a commercial break on American
:47:49. > :49:37.TV. John McEnroe silent, into it. Six aces apiece, and that against
:49:38. > :49:43.one of the biggest serves of all time. John Isner, Karlovic, Raonic,
:49:44. > :50:45.these are amazing deliveries. Dad up in the players box and
:50:46. > :50:50.father-in-law, Nigel Sears, as well as his mother-in-law. Understanding
:50:51. > :50:54.the importance of this situation and it is remarkable that Murray has
:50:55. > :51:01.been able to make that many returns and get his racket on that many of
:51:02. > :51:04.these Raonic serves. The anticipation is so remarkable that
:51:05. > :51:10.Raonic is hitting fewer aces than Murray. I find that extraordinary.
:51:11. > :51:16.It is a cue Millard of pressure, isn't it? It is both their
:51:17. > :51:20.strengths, the Raonic serve against the Murray return. Throughout the
:51:21. > :51:25.day, so far, the Murray return has come up trumps. He has been able to
:51:26. > :51:31.build that pressure. Now we are really going to see how Milos holds
:51:32. > :51:36.up, serving to stay in the championship. Bears the speed
:51:37. > :51:40.element of how quickly Murray picks up the ball. It's also the
:51:41. > :51:45.technique. Short swings, keeping the racket out in front. Firm wrist,
:51:46. > :51:53.using the pace of Raonic when he can get his racket on the ball. And
:51:54. > :51:59.serving first in this third set. That gives him an opportunity to
:52:00. > :52:27.break the Championships. -- for the Championships.
:52:28. > :54:26.A hold to love, just when he needed it. Extending this final.
:54:27. > :54:39.Carlos Moedas, -- Carlos Moya, urging his player to believe coming
:54:40. > :54:40.year, to try to break serve, to give himself an opportunity to serve the
:54:41. > :56:58.third set. Exquisite touch after two hours and
:56:59. > :57:06.35 minutes. Raonic once again, very clean game last time. We have got so
:57:07. > :57:10.many statistics in front of us, aces, double faults, break point
:57:11. > :57:15.opportunities. I always feel with Murray will should have a drop shot
:57:16. > :57:21.start. I think that was his first drop shot of the match, which is
:57:22. > :57:30.unusual for him. It just feels pretty good when you are 40-0 up to
:57:31. > :57:41.try that out. Five gold medals for Steven Redgrave. Milos Raonic will
:57:42. > :57:49.be in Rio as well. The Games commencing on the fifth. Andy Murray
:57:50. > :57:55.will be down there with Jamie Murray, and Milos to serve. Is this
:57:56. > :00:03.the last game of the championship in the men's? Both boxes on their feet.
:00:04. > :00:09.Raonic was throwing absolutely everything into this game, as he
:00:10. > :00:14.showed. The previous point hitting a massive second serve ace, putting it
:00:15. > :01:29.all out there at the moment. Here we go again then. Murray won
:01:30. > :01:41.the tie-break victory away from Wimbledon, the second title against
:01:42. > :02:12.Raonic. He needs to win it to keep the final alive.
:02:13. > :02:23.Murray got off to a great start in the second set tie-break, got the
:02:24. > :02:30.early mini-break. Onto the first point in his own serve, now will
:02:31. > :02:45.look to do the same on Raonic's serve.
:02:46. > :02:55.Andy Murray loves a target on the backhand side. The approach was
:02:56. > :03:00.deep, but Murray is just licking his lips at those ones. 15 backhand
:03:01. > :03:02.winners, as the breeze gets up. We need a dust devil here on Centre
:03:03. > :03:43.Court. How good were those two points? Is
:03:44. > :03:46.the biggest server in the world at the moment, and able to find a way.
:03:47. > :04:53.His defensive skills are amazing. Andy Murray is having a lovely time
:04:54. > :05:05.now! Dictating on the forehand side, surging to another Wimbledon title
:05:06. > :05:14.surely now. 5-0. Yes, do it now. Don't worry about your own serve,
:05:15. > :06:02.says Jamie Delgado. Raonic to serve two.
:06:03. > :06:11.Changing ends after six points, and for the second tie-breaker in a row,
:06:12. > :06:18.the second set in a row, it is 5-1 as they change. Even in such a
:06:19. > :06:22.dominant position, he would like that shot back again. I can count on
:06:23. > :07:42.one hand how many times he has missed that in a match.
:07:43. > :08:12.UMPIRE: Let, first service. All good things worth waiting for.
:08:13. > :08:46.It is pretty clear where Murray would like to hit this first serve.
:08:47. > :09:18.He's there! Straight sets against! Wimbledon champion again, the
:09:19. > :09:27.supreme performance, a first-class tournament. Andy Murray defeats
:09:28. > :09:32.Milos Raonic, whose improvement has been a delight to watch. But it is
:09:33. > :09:43.Murray's time in the sunshine of Centre Court once again.
:09:44. > :10:23.Certainly a victory for teamwork, friends, family, coaches, all play a
:10:24. > :10:32.part but it is T Murray, and he's the boss. And now it comes out. --
:10:33. > :10:39.Team Murray. A lifetime ambition realised in 2013. And he's backed it
:10:40. > :10:43.up again, three years later, and again, he had to wait, three grand
:10:44. > :10:49.slam finals have come and gone between that last victory and now.
:10:50. > :10:53.And I get the feeling that Milos Raonic will be back, Tim? He's
:10:54. > :10:56.certainly well, it's been a fantastic Coleman on the grass for
:10:57. > :11:00.both of these players but you can see from Murray's reaction at the
:11:01. > :11:06.end, the build-up of the pressure of those grand slam final losses, the
:11:07. > :11:11.month on grass, and finally, getting the job done for his second
:11:12. > :11:15.Wimbledon title. What does it feel like to watch that? It's amazing. It
:11:16. > :11:20.gives you goose bumps sitting year now. So impressive, not just the
:11:21. > :11:27.match today, he didn't put but wrong, he played his game plan. You
:11:28. > :11:31.did that! Yeah! How he bounced back in that quarter final against
:11:32. > :11:38.Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, too, after dropping two sets, fighting it off
:11:39. > :11:43.early in the fifth. It's a product. SUE BARKER: Ladies and gentlemen, it
:11:44. > :11:48.is time now for the trophy presentation for the men's signals
:11:49. > :11:52.-- singles. These were mum to God his Royal Highness the Duke of Kent,
:11:53. > :11:55.President of the all England lawn tennis club, along with chairman
:11:56. > :11:59.Philip Brooke and the president of the Lawn Tennis Association.
:12:00. > :12:12.APPLAUSE A quick congratulations to the 250
:12:13. > :12:18.ball boys and ball girls who trained so hard and went through a rigorous
:12:19. > :12:22.selection process to earn their place at the Championships. And the
:12:23. > :12:35.best of the best were on court here today. They get quicker and fitter
:12:36. > :12:37.and faster each year. Lets go and eat, let's go! Lets go and eat,
:12:38. > :12:50.let's go! Let's go Andy, first, please show your appreciation
:12:51. > :12:57.for the Charun fire, -- chair umpire, Jake Garner. ANDREW CASTLE:
:12:58. > :13:01.A second Wimbledon final for Jake Garner in the chair, five US Opens
:13:02. > :13:09.as well, a good job by the man from Florida. SUE BARKER: And next, the
:13:10. > :13:16.Championships referee, Andrew Jarrett. Andrew Jarrett had plenty
:13:17. > :13:20.to deal with, people's Sunday for the first time since 2004, and a bit
:13:21. > :13:40.of catching up to do in the second week. And now, to the runner-up,
:13:41. > :13:47.Milos Raonic! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE After two semifinal losses at this
:13:48. > :13:48.level, a final. He beat Federer and came back against coffin. He earned
:13:49. > :14:02.his place but Murray was too good. And the Wimbledon champion of 2016,
:14:03. > :14:48.Andy Murray! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE Well, now, a word with the
:14:49. > :14:54.runner-up, Milos Raonic, with Sue Barker stop Milos, you threw
:14:55. > :15:00.everything at him but he faced a Murray on a mission today. Yeah,
:15:01. > :15:04.it's a difficult challenge, as it is and Andy has been playing great and
:15:05. > :15:06.he deserves to be winning here for a second time. APPLAUSE
:15:07. > :15:22.Congratulations to him. This one's going to staying. I'm
:15:23. > :15:26.going to make sure, as these courts are green, that I do everything I
:15:27. > :15:37.can to be back here for another chance. APPLAUSE
:15:38. > :15:40.We know you will, Milos. You have had a wonderful tournament, beating
:15:41. > :15:45.Roger Federer, got so much positive moments to look back on. Yeah, it's
:15:46. > :15:51.been a phenomenal two weeks at this tournament, a phenomenal week just
:15:52. > :15:55.before that at Queen's as well. So I keep plugging away, every single
:15:56. > :15:58.day, I tried to get better, to give myself the chances and I'm going to
:15:59. > :16:02.be continuing to do the same because there's nothing I want more than to
:16:03. > :16:06.be back here. I know you are very much part of a team as well. Would
:16:07. > :16:11.you like to say a few words to your team? Thank you to my team, everyone
:16:12. > :16:16.is and not here, especially my family. We have dealt with a lot and
:16:17. > :16:20.I'm not always the easiest deal with but I'm sure everyone is happy and
:16:21. > :16:25.proud in these moments. We are going to try to make them better and try
:16:26. > :16:29.to keep improving. You know, I love them all very much. We know we will
:16:30. > :16:32.see you in many more Wimbledon finals. Congratulations on a great
:16:33. > :16:42.tournament, Mills Raonic! CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
:16:43. > :16:45.-- Milos Raonic. Canada, so proud of their man but here comes:'s Andy
:16:46. > :16:52.Murray, again the Wimbledon champion! You are hugging that
:16:53. > :16:57.trophy. Feel good? Yeah, obviously... LAUGHTER
:16:58. > :17:02.The most important tournament for me every year. We've had some great
:17:03. > :17:06.moments here and also some tough losses and obviously, the winds feel
:17:07. > :17:09.extra special because of the tough losses. So yeah, I'm proud to have
:17:10. > :17:17.my hands on the trophy again. CHEERING AND APPLAUSE
:17:18. > :17:23.I said Milos was throwing everything at you. Serving over 140 mph, coming
:17:24. > :17:27.in at you and you had to be at your best and you were. Yeah, I played
:17:28. > :17:31.really good stuff today but Milos has had a great few weeks on the
:17:32. > :17:35.grass and had some unbelievable wins. His match against Roger in the
:17:36. > :17:38.semifinals, I don't know how many people that are here today were
:17:39. > :17:46.watching that but it was a great, great match. APPLAUSE
:17:47. > :17:50.He is one of the harder workers out there, like he said, he's always
:17:51. > :17:55.trying to improve and get better and each time I play against him, he's
:17:56. > :18:01.made big improvements. He also has an extremely nice team as well,
:18:02. > :18:07.Carlos, Ricardo and John as well, part of his team. Physical trainers
:18:08. > :18:12.and physios as well, they are always extremely nice and very polite and
:18:13. > :18:18.well mannered. LAUGHTER It's true! It is not always the
:18:19. > :18:22.case. Yeah, sorry about the day but great job in the last few weeks!
:18:23. > :18:25.LAUGHTER I know John will like to hear that
:18:26. > :18:31.but what about your team? Ivan doesn't give much away when he's
:18:32. > :18:35.watching, does he? He's just lucky! LAUGHTER
:18:36. > :18:48.APPLAUSE I mean, a big thank you to all of my
:18:49. > :18:52.team for the hard work they have put into helping me get here, and also
:18:53. > :19:00.my family as well, who are watching up there. I love all of you. Thank
:19:01. > :19:03.you. One last question, it was so emotional in 2013 after being the
:19:04. > :19:07.first British man to win in 77 years. Do you think you can enjoy
:19:08. > :19:12.this one a little more? I'm going to make sure I do. Last time, I was so
:19:13. > :19:16.relieved, I felt I was very nervous today but so much stress and
:19:17. > :19:19.pressure, I did not get the chance to enjoy it as much so I'll make
:19:20. > :19:29.sure I enjoy this one tonight, Pichot. What about this crowd and
:19:30. > :19:32.the crowd on the Hill? How much do they play a part? Just a huge thank
:19:33. > :19:36.you to everyone that came out to support, amazing. CHEERING
:19:37. > :19:39.An amazing atmosphere, lots of ex-players and legends watching as
:19:40. > :19:40.well. It's a pleasure to play in front of you, and the Prime Minister
:19:41. > :19:55.as well, here! APPLAUSE You know, I think playing in a
:19:56. > :20:00.Wimbledon finalist but I would not like to be Prime Minister, it's an
:20:01. > :20:04.impossible job! LAUGHTER Thanks, everyone, for coming out and
:20:05. > :20:08.I will see you again next year. Thank you. Well done, Andy Murray,
:20:09. > :20:10.so much to be proud of in British sport. The Wimbledon champion, Andy
:20:11. > :20:24.Murray! And now, Richard Lewis, the chief
:20:25. > :20:27.executive, will take both players around Centre Court, fall of the
:20:28. > :20:34.photo opportunities that will find their way into the newspapers
:20:35. > :20:39.tomorrow. -- for all of. Members of the public in all four corners of
:20:40. > :20:45.this wonderful stadium, in graded in 1922 and has seen so many changes in
:20:46. > :20:48.itself, with the atmosphere. -- inaugurated in. Fabulous once again
:20:49. > :20:52.and for a British victory, Tim Henman, that was 77 years in the
:20:53. > :20:56.making last time. This felt different. It felt like he was going
:20:57. > :21:00.to do it but he had to get the job done. Very much so and the way this
:21:01. > :21:05.tournament has evolved, Djokovic obviously going out in the other
:21:06. > :21:08.half of the draw, there was a lot of focus and expectation, as ever, an
:21:09. > :21:13.Andy, but whatever has been thrown at him, he's dealt with it so well
:21:14. > :21:17.and you can see the relief when he finally got over the finish line
:21:18. > :21:22.again. I think it is very telling when he talks about how in 2013, he
:21:23. > :21:26.did not really enjoy the victory and I really hope that he savours this
:21:27. > :21:32.one because it is so special. It is incredible how hard he works, what
:21:33. > :21:40.he puts into his game. He is reaping the fruits of his labour. He is
:21:41. > :21:46.certainly an example, isn't he, both in work ethic and now the demeanour,
:21:47. > :21:50.so comfortable, with the spotlight on him. And the ability to perform
:21:51. > :21:54.under pressure that comes with training and effort and what a year
:21:55. > :22:00.for both of them, as they became parents for the first time, and just
:22:01. > :22:09.five months after that happy event, a different, another wonderful thing
:22:10. > :22:13.in their lives. Milos Raonic, nice words in this speech but just as at
:22:14. > :22:19.Queen's, he sees Murray beat him in the end.
:22:20. > :22:27.And Andy Murray takes the cup around Centre Court. It used to be the
:22:28. > :22:31.Field Up, but William Renshaw took it home because the won it three
:22:32. > :22:35.times in a row and now the Challenge Cup as well and now they take a
:22:36. > :22:40.three quarters size replica. It does not live to far-away from here. You
:22:41. > :22:48.can pop into the trophy room and say, "That is what I won". For the
:22:49. > :22:52.record, and it's not about money, a 5% increase in prize money this
:22:53. > :23:03.year, ?2 million to the winner, ?1 million to the runner-up. Something
:23:04. > :23:07.of a change in the complexion of the sport at the moment, with no Rafa
:23:08. > :23:11.Nadal here, who has delivered so much pain to Andy Murray in the
:23:12. > :23:15.past. A bad wrist has captain out of the game. Roger Federer, playing
:23:16. > :23:20.well but not getting any younger and one wonders how many more times Andy
:23:21. > :23:28.Murray will be in this position, potentially many more. That will be
:23:29. > :23:36.his decision, whether he plays in the Davis Cup against Serbia, the
:23:37. > :23:37.tie that you can see on BBC from Friday. We hope you can join us for
:23:38. > :23:57.that. Lest we forget, the Mixed Doubles
:23:58. > :24:01.with British interest coming up here on Centre Court which will be a
:24:02. > :24:04.wonderful way for us to say goodbye to the Championships, as we say
:24:05. > :24:15.goodbye to the champion, Andy Murray. A command performance, a
:24:16. > :24:28.commanding performance in all ways. Straight sets, for Andy Murray.
:24:29. > :24:36.And the moment of triumph! He kept us waiting a little bit. It was not
:24:37. > :24:40.like the last game against Nomura Djokovic in 2013, where one felt
:24:41. > :24:46.that it could all turn round on him. -- against Novak Djokovic. But when
:24:47. > :24:53.he became favourite for the tournament, when Djokovic went out,
:24:54. > :24:57.the pressure on his own shoulders certainly did not diminish the man.
:24:58. > :25:00.In fact, he got stronger as the tournament went on. Think back to
:25:01. > :25:07.Wednesday evening and that glorious match against Jo-Wilfried Tsonga
:25:08. > :25:11.that he won 6-1 in the third set and the desire he showed them. Anyway,
:25:12. > :25:15.this is achievement in action. Well done, everybody. What an appointment
:25:16. > :25:30.Ivan Lendl was, the Sunday before Wimbledon.
:25:31. > :25:44.Murray, the champion once again at Wimbledon. Superb. SUE BARKER: Thank
:25:45. > :25:51.you, and shortly we will be looking back at the crucial moment. Heather
:25:52. > :25:56.Watson and her partner will be bidding to win the Mixed Doubles
:25:57. > :26:04.final so lots more to come from Wimbledon, and there will be
:26:05. > :26:05.coverage of the euro 2016 final between France and Portugal. So the
