:00:44. > :01:00.JOHN INVERDALE: The crowd rose to Andy Murray, first Wimbledon, first

:01:01. > :01:23.major. What a debut. The muscleman from Dunblane. It is

:01:24. > :01:40.not going to be easy. The support has been incredible, so thank you.

:01:41. > :01:54.First Grand Slam final for Milos Raonic. He is giving big Milos the

:01:55. > :02:00.runaround here. You are joking, that is superb!

:02:01. > :02:07.Deep second serve, and he has taken a giant step towards a second

:02:08. > :02:12.Wimbledon title here. Wimbledon champion again, a supreme

:02:13. > :02:17.performance, first-class tournament, Andy Murray.

:02:18. > :02:25.SUE BARKER: The news here at Wimbledon is that once again Andy

:02:26. > :02:28.Murray is the Wimbledon champion. He played in almost perfect match

:02:29. > :02:32.against Milos Raonic, what a journey it has been for the boy from

:02:33. > :02:36.Dunblane to win his third Grand Slam, his second at Wimbledon. It

:02:37. > :02:42.was a very emotional Andy Murray after the match point, but let's

:02:43. > :02:49.hear what he had to say on court. You are hunting that trophy.

:02:50. > :02:53.Feel-good? Yes, I mean this is an important tournament for me every

:02:54. > :03:00.year. I had some great moments here and also some tough losses, and the

:03:01. > :03:03.wins feel extra special because of the tough losses, so I am proud to

:03:04. > :03:13.have my hands on the trophy again. CHEERING

:03:14. > :03:18.I said Milos was throwing everything at you, serves over 140 mph, he was

:03:19. > :03:24.coming in, you had to be at your best. I played some really good

:03:25. > :03:29.stuff today, but Milos has had some great few weeks on the grass, his

:03:30. > :03:38.match against Roger Federer, that was a great, great match.

:03:39. > :03:42.APPLAUSE He is one of the harder workers out

:03:43. > :03:47.there, he is always trying to improve and get better, and each

:03:48. > :03:50.time we play against each other, he has made big improvements, and he

:03:51. > :03:57.also has an extremely nice team as well, Cardross, Ricardo and John now

:03:58. > :04:05.as well part of his team, physical trainers and physios as well.

:04:06. > :04:08.Always polite and well mannered, as well.

:04:09. > :04:13.LAUGHTER It is true, that isn't always the

:04:14. > :04:19.case, so sorry about today, and great job the last few weeks. I know

:04:20. > :04:25.that Mac would like to hear that. What about your team? Lendl doesn't

:04:26. > :04:26.give much away when he is watching. He is just lucky!

:04:27. > :04:44.LAUGHTER A big thank you to all of my team

:04:45. > :04:48.for the hard work they have put in helping to get me there, and my

:04:49. > :04:53.family as well, watching, I love all of you. And just one last question,

:04:54. > :04:58.it was so emotional back in 2013 after being the first British man to

:04:59. > :05:03.win in 77 years, do think you can enjoy this one a little more? I will

:05:04. > :05:07.make sure I do. Last time I was so relieved, I was very nervous today

:05:08. > :05:10.as well, but just so much stress and pressure, I didn't get the chance to

:05:11. > :05:15.enjoy it, so I will make sure I enjoy this one tonight for sure. And

:05:16. > :05:20.what about the crowd and the crowd watching on the Hill? Huge thank you

:05:21. > :05:22.to everyone who came out to support, amazing.

:05:23. > :05:28.APPLAUSE CHEERING

:05:29. > :05:31.An amazing atmosphere, lots of ex-players, legends watching as

:05:32. > :05:36.well, it is a pleasure to play in front of you, the Prime Minister of

:05:37. > :05:44.the country as well. BOOING

:05:45. > :05:51.I think playing in a Wimbledon final is tough, but I certainly wouldn't

:05:52. > :05:55.like to be the Prime Minister, it is an impossible job.

:05:56. > :06:00.LAUGHTER Thank you everyone for coming out, I

:06:01. > :06:05.will see you again next year! The Wimbledon champion, Andy Murray!

:06:06. > :06:12.APPLAUSE It was a very different sort of

:06:13. > :06:18.speech on Centre Court after Andy, Tim and Lleyton are still with me.

:06:19. > :06:23.He had the tag is favourite for the last week and a half. Yes, that

:06:24. > :06:26.whole scenario of ten Grand Slam finals where he has played Federer

:06:27. > :06:32.and Djokovic, this was different, playing Milos Raonic. Murray knew

:06:33. > :06:36.what a great opportunity it was, but he had to go out and deliver, and

:06:37. > :06:40.when you are playing someone with the firepower of Raonic, it is not

:06:41. > :06:44.easy, it can be taken out of your hands if he is hitting the spot, but

:06:45. > :06:54.Murray was clinical in every area. We were following Raonic's aces, he

:06:55. > :06:57.served 154 coming into this game, and he had only served to macro

:06:58. > :07:01.going into the second set, and that is credit to Murray. He only made

:07:02. > :07:06.nine unforced error is, it was an incredible match. To finish. Tim has

:07:07. > :07:10.mentioned the return of serve, and that was key, we have picked out a

:07:11. > :07:14.few for us all to admire. He did it right from the start as well.

:07:15. > :07:19.Raonic's second service game, he was building pressure straightaway. You

:07:20. > :07:24.can see with his body weight coming forward, compact return swings, but

:07:25. > :07:28.he set it up with good returns, and then backing it up with the next

:07:29. > :07:33.shot which was a great passing shot when Raonic would come into the net.

:07:34. > :07:38.But how do you return serves that are coming over 140 mph? It is

:07:39. > :07:43.something he is busily worked on an enormous amount over the last NES,

:07:44. > :07:46.but it is also his technique. When you saw Federer trying to return

:07:47. > :07:50.Raonic, he was quite close to the baseline, and Raonic was having a

:07:51. > :07:53.lot of success going into the body, whereas Murray stands probably

:07:54. > :07:58.further back than anyone else and then takes a step forward to meet

:07:59. > :08:02.the ball. He has short swings, doesn't try to generate power, he

:08:03. > :08:06.doesn't need to because it is coming through so quickly, and with a firm

:08:07. > :08:09.block he is able to get the ball back in play, and Raonic has been

:08:10. > :08:14.able to, he only lost serve five times in the tournament coming in,

:08:15. > :08:18.nearly lost his serve once today, but you always felt like Murray was

:08:19. > :08:23.creating opportunities. And that is what Ivan Lendl has asked him to do,

:08:24. > :08:27.to keep moving forward, to have the momentum going forward. Yes, that is

:08:28. > :08:31.important with his whole game, that positive mindset try to keep

:08:32. > :08:35.attacking. That doesn't mean just attacking the net, but trying to hit

:08:36. > :08:40.through the court, because he has so many ways of winning points, so much

:08:41. > :08:45.for IT in the way he plays, he can use the sliced backhand to attack as

:08:46. > :08:50.well, but when he steps in, there is no better shot in the world. I think

:08:51. > :08:54.on a grass court you get paid more dividends with that shot because it

:08:55. > :08:57.skips through the court. Andy talked about his team, and we know how much

:08:58. > :09:02.they have helped him get his fitness level, and then Jamie and Ivan

:09:03. > :09:14.working with him, so let's see their reaction when he won. What is Ivan

:09:15. > :09:18.going to do? You see, he can smile! It is such a brilliant team effort.

:09:19. > :09:23.Matt Little, he calls him the torturer, the physical trainer. Yes,

:09:24. > :09:28.and I think Jayme Doll Garbo, there has been a lot of focus on Ivan

:09:29. > :09:38.Lendl coming back into the fray, but when you reflect on the last few

:09:39. > :09:40.months, Jamie Delgado came in after the Australian Open, and he has done

:09:41. > :09:50.a good job with the consistency and continuity of the preparation. Ivan

:09:51. > :09:52.Lendl getting emotional! First time to everything. The whole team has

:09:53. > :09:57.worked so hard, and they deserve credit as well. I love it when he

:09:58. > :10:03.was interviewed, and they say, you are a man of few words, and users,

:10:04. > :10:06.when I have to ask about the practice partner moving to the other

:10:07. > :10:15.side, they say, over there! But he says pearls of wisdom. It has got

:10:16. > :10:19.Andy in the right frame of mind, and having his presence there, he had

:10:20. > :10:22.such great results his first to majors under Ivan Lendl, and the

:10:23. > :10:26.positive body language really helped in moving forward, and he used that

:10:27. > :10:35.with the crowd in his last to or three matches. -- two or three

:10:36. > :10:39.matches. And the way he helped him through the Grand Slams. This is

:10:40. > :10:43.part of the coach- player relationship, but Andy Last his

:10:44. > :10:47.first four Grand Slam finals, Lendl lost his first four, and it is that

:10:48. > :10:50.almost reassuring to mentally that he was doing the right things and if

:10:51. > :10:54.he kept giving himself opportunities, he would get over the

:10:55. > :10:58.line, and he did that in New York and then coming back to win at

:10:59. > :11:02.Wimbledon. I think that is where Lendl had the psychological

:11:03. > :11:06.advantage of being there, he was in 20 Grand Slam finals himself, he won

:11:07. > :11:13.eight majors, so he has had a big heart to play. And winning

:11:14. > :11:16.Wimbledon, to come here and win your second title, you understand it

:11:17. > :11:20.because you play in Australia, and Tim, you understand it as well, it

:11:21. > :11:25.is so difficult to be the home favourite. It is really tough,

:11:26. > :11:28.because everywhere you look, you are under the spotlight straightaway,

:11:29. > :11:32.and it is the whole build-up. As soon as he left the clay courts of

:11:33. > :11:36.Paris, he came to London in everyone expected him to win Queen's again

:11:37. > :11:41.for the fifth time, he went out and did that, everyone expected him to

:11:42. > :11:44.perform extreme the well here in Wimbledon, so you have to try to

:11:45. > :11:48.live in a little bit of a bubble for those few weeks, and listen to your

:11:49. > :11:52.group, and that is where the relief now, he can actually enjoy what has

:11:53. > :11:56.happened, Queen's Club was a fantastic win, the next afternoon

:11:57. > :12:10.Lendl had him straight out on the practice courts here at a Aorangi.

:12:11. > :12:23.Stephan Eberharter and Boris Becker with Gary. -- Stefan Edberg. I

:12:24. > :12:28.thought he played really well, Milos Raonic didn't really have a chance

:12:29. > :12:32.when Andy got those break points. You could see that Andy had more

:12:33. > :12:38.experience and confidence being on this court on this day, and Milos

:12:39. > :12:42.was knocking at the door but not loud enough. He was always in

:12:43. > :12:46.control, Andy. Yes, I felt that the first set would be crucial, and

:12:47. > :12:51.usually in a final if you can get ahead, you don't look back. So he

:12:52. > :12:55.has three Grand Slam wins now, and when you get that level, you must

:12:56. > :13:01.really start believing, there is a fourth or fifth, do you think like

:13:02. > :13:08.that? The big one is always the first one, once you break that duck,

:13:09. > :13:12.there is room for more, and he has won the US Open, he is 29, at the

:13:13. > :13:15.peak of his career, he has been playing great tennis the last 18

:13:16. > :13:20.months, so I'm sure he is up for some more. Yes, there are a few more

:13:21. > :13:26.in the locker, probably. Can you guess how many might Wimbledon? I

:13:27. > :13:29.have no idea, I am sure he will win more slams, but there are still some

:13:30. > :13:33.big guys out there and they will be younger guys coming as well, but I'm

:13:34. > :13:38.sure he will have a lot of good years ahead of him. Grass is his

:13:39. > :13:43.most natural surface, compared with everybody who is still in the top,

:13:44. > :13:50.and he will always be a big threat at Wimbledon. Hard court is a great

:13:51. > :13:52.service for him, too, so he will be winning a couple more. Thank you

:13:53. > :14:03.very much free time. Wonderful to hear from Boris and

:14:04. > :14:09.from Stefan. Tim, this is one of the great traditions. Yes, the fans like

:14:10. > :14:14.to see their champion out on the balcony, and it is an amazing

:14:15. > :14:19.atmosphere. When we were out upon the Hill before the final started,

:14:20. > :14:23.there has been so much excitement and anticipation about this match,

:14:24. > :14:27.so I think everybody is breathing a sigh of relief. These are the people

:14:28. > :14:29.who have queued just to sit on the hill, they haven't bought Centre

:14:30. > :14:34.Court tickets, these are the true tennis fans. This is all part of it.

:14:35. > :14:39.We were doing interviews at the start of the day, just around the

:14:40. > :14:43.Hill, and the build-up of anticipation, for these people to

:14:44. > :14:46.all come out and get a Gibbs of their champion, it would mean so

:14:47. > :14:50.much to them. And wonderful weather as well, finally we get some

:14:51. > :14:53.sunshine. After the first week, I was wondering if we would ever see

:14:54. > :15:04.blue sky again. Wonderful scenes on the balcony. You

:15:05. > :15:14.wonder what Novak Djokovic will be thinking. It has been amazing, a

:15:15. > :15:17.couple of weeks, Djokovic winning his fourth Grand Slam in a row at

:15:18. > :15:23.Roland Garros and has been the dominant force. Then this upset

:15:24. > :15:28.losing to Sam Querrey in the first week. It will be an interesting

:15:29. > :15:38.remainder of the year because I believe the number one spot is up

:15:39. > :15:48.for grabs. Murray has been in grand slam finals and he is nearly there,

:15:49. > :15:53.that would be an achievement. He has been number two but I think you can

:15:54. > :15:59.do it. Jamie Noble and in the doubles, he got there first. --

:16:00. > :16:04.Jamie is number one in the doubles. Are there other people who can catch

:16:05. > :16:09.up with them? I think consistently over four slams for the next couple

:16:10. > :16:15.of years they are the main guys to beat. We do not know how well Rafael

:16:16. > :16:21.Nadal will come back from his injuries and Roger Federer had that

:16:22. > :16:27.opportunity, was this his last chance? He did not look 100% fit but

:16:28. > :16:31.still a great effort to make semifinals. There will be young guys

:16:32. > :16:36.knocking on the door but these are the main guys. We have thoroughly

:16:37. > :16:43.enjoyed having you on our coverage. It has been a lot of fun. Even

:16:44. > :16:50.working with him? That has been the best part, Hazza. We're heading back

:16:51. > :16:54.to Centre Court because Heather Watson is in the final along with

:16:55. > :17:04.her partner, Henri Kontinen, up against the number 15 seed, Robert

:17:05. > :17:10.Farah and Groenefeld, we are joining the match in the early stages, Sam

:17:11. > :17:18.Smith and David Mercer. COMMENTATOR: The first test for the Watson-

:17:19. > :17:43.Kontinen team. Her mother, Michelle, who hails from

:17:44. > :18:05.Papua New Guinea. She lives every moment.

:18:06. > :18:15.The first break points and already Groenefeld looking solid and the

:18:16. > :18:27.net. These two as you would expect in the final, tougher than the

:18:28. > :18:28.defending champions, even, Paes and Hingis, who they defeated in the

:18:29. > :18:56.third round. It has been a great weekend for

:18:57. > :19:20.youngest tennis -- British tennis. Just what she needed. Such a pick me

:19:21. > :19:32.up after being so disappointed in the singles, in mixed you have to

:19:33. > :19:37.serve well as a woman. It will make her release a little bit

:19:38. > :19:39.particularly on the second serve. And not try to steer it as she can

:19:40. > :19:46.do in singles. Preordained switch, Heather covering

:19:47. > :20:26.behind Kontinen. The pairs we ought to introduce, on

:20:27. > :20:31.the left Robert Farah, 29 years of age, from Columbia, bidding to be

:20:32. > :20:37.the first Colombian ever to win the title at Wimbledon, the second ever

:20:38. > :20:44.to win a Grand Slam. And Anna-Lena Groenefeld from Jimmy, who won this

:20:45. > :20:53.title in 2009 with Mark Knowles. And on the other side the Anglo Finnish

:20:54. > :21:02.partnership, Henri Kontinen creating history as the first Finn ever to

:21:03. > :21:09.appear in a final at the grand slam. And Heather Watson, her first Grand

:21:10. > :21:13.Slam final as well. Last British lady to win this title, our

:21:14. > :21:26.colleague Jo Durie, who won it with Jeremy Bates.

:21:27. > :21:28.Ladies and gentlemen, please take the first available seat for now,

:21:29. > :21:49.thank you. So often in Mixed Doubles it is the

:21:50. > :21:52.strength of the woman that is often the deciding factor and Groenefeld,

:21:53. > :22:09.six foot tall, she has a big serve. That is why this matchup is so

:22:10. > :22:14.tricky. Touch. It touched the racket of Farah. These two playing their

:22:15. > :22:18.third consecutive major, they played at the French Open and the

:22:19. > :22:20.Australian Open, losing to Jamie Murray in Australia in the second

:22:21. > :23:08.round. Right now both teams trying to get

:23:09. > :23:11.their service direction patterns sorted out. Kontinen is a big

:23:12. > :23:39.return, rather erratic. I would imagine they will take their

:23:40. > :23:42.serving away from the Watson backend, which has been outstanding.

:23:43. > :24:10.-- backhand. Touch. I think it caught the body.

:24:11. > :24:36.The seeded pair have been taken to deuce on both their service games.

:24:37. > :24:45.Poults they all look super-sharp. They have played so much tennis,

:24:46. > :25:05.particularly Farah and Groenefeld. These two of course had never played

:25:06. > :25:11.together until the third round. Walkovers in the first two and their

:25:12. > :25:16.very first opponents were the defending champions, Leander Paes

:25:17. > :25:21.and not Hingis, they were 3-0 down in no time at all but then they

:25:22. > :25:23.started to gel. It was getting to know each other, predinner drinks.

:25:24. > :25:37.-- Martina Hingis. Clearly there first potential couple

:25:38. > :25:48.of opponents must have realised it wasn't worth coming. They sensed

:25:49. > :25:56.Heather and Henri would be extremely difficult to beat.

:25:57. > :26:06.Again as Sam was saying, standard instructions, direct your fire at

:26:07. > :26:25.the woman. Always. As long as it is on. And goes for pros, club players.

:26:26. > :26:32.132 mph serve. Imagine someone driving past you on the motorway at

:26:33. > :27:04.that speed. Just got caught, did not close down

:27:05. > :27:15.the net. Allow some space for the dipper.

:27:16. > :27:25.Farah are really coming operator. Well miss. Great cover from

:27:26. > :27:35.Kontinen. These two have ignored their way through. -- giggled. I

:27:36. > :27:37.must say the Finn is some talent, a touch of the showman about him but

:27:38. > :28:02.we like Henri. -- Hugh Grant approved by one. He

:28:03. > :28:11.has got plenty of power at disposal, Kontinen. He actually lives in

:28:12. > :28:19.Estonia, Talinn, although he was born in Helsinki. Lovely to see a

:28:20. > :28:28.lot of fans have stayed behind on Henman held, soaking up the

:28:29. > :28:34.sunshine. They would enjoy another British winter round off a great

:28:35. > :28:44.Championships. Still Henman held? You cannot just rename it, I know I

:28:45. > :28:52.have heard Murray Mount. But we all Fellows said businesses. I am good

:28:53. > :28:58.with Henman Hill. When you think how this championship started off for

:28:59. > :29:02.the first for five days, monsoon conditions, then how gorgeous it is

:29:03. > :29:04.now. It has been wonderful the second week. Lifting everybody's

:29:05. > :29:43.spirits. You have to be careful in those

:29:44. > :29:48.circumstances that you do not foul, touch the night, or play the ball

:29:49. > :30:08.before it comes over the net. If you do it is a foul shot.

:30:09. > :30:26.If you look at where Ferrari has landed his first volley, in the

:30:27. > :30:31.tramlines, and he has given angle to Kontinen to work with. Had he hit it

:30:32. > :30:38.more centrally Kontinen would have had to make his own angle stop there

:30:39. > :30:42.is nothing wrong with serving and volleying and almost just punching

:30:43. > :30:48.it straight down the T, straight back if you want at the returner.

:30:49. > :31:01.They have to work a lot harder with their feet and their rackets.

:31:02. > :31:09.Anna-Lena needs to know where he is going to direct this serve.

:31:10. > :31:15.His mother was captain of the Libyan women's volleyball team at the

:31:16. > :31:18.Montreal Olympics. Where did you get that from? You do not even use the

:31:19. > :31:45.Internet. Right now, no one is quite running

:31:46. > :32:08.the show out here, but Farah has the potential to do so.

:32:09. > :32:36.The coaches of for Farah and Anna-Lena Groenefeld.

:32:37. > :32:45.I have a feeling the majority of the discussions between Farah and

:32:46. > :32:46.Groenefeld will be all about this serve, it is the weak link in the

:32:47. > :33:14.chain, I am afraid. Covered it well. When it is so wide,

:33:15. > :34:07.you need to cover that tram. A second serve of just 73 mph, and

:34:08. > :34:13.that doesn't give Kontinen any time to react to those drives straight at

:34:14. > :34:16.him. He might just have to take a step back, he could probably see the

:34:17. > :35:02.writing on the ball as it went past him.

:35:03. > :35:24.I thought they might get Henri moving here straight after the

:35:25. > :35:30.serve, not sure which way he is going to go.

:35:31. > :35:44.UMPIRE: New balls, please. The first ace of the match comes from Heather

:35:45. > :35:48.Watson, and you wouldn't have expected that!

:35:49. > :35:58.Heather of course going to the Olympics along with Johanna Konta. I

:35:59. > :36:02.wonder if Jamie Murray has been watching her progress and wondering,

:36:03. > :36:07.who should I play Mixed Doubles with in Rio? She has just put out a

:36:08. > :36:11.pretty good advert, hasn't she? The key thing to Heather is whoever she

:36:12. > :36:15.does play with, in mixed over the years, they have got to keep her

:36:16. > :36:22.really chilled out, and I think we can see the chemistry between her

:36:23. > :36:28.and Henri. She does tend to get rather uptight in some of her

:36:29. > :36:35.matches. And Henri is almost too relaxed sometimes.

:36:36. > :36:46.UMPIRE: Time. Ladies and gentlemen, please take a seat, thank you.

:36:47. > :36:54.The time of the day where the sun is a little awkward if you are at the

:36:55. > :37:36.Royal Box end. Shades definitely needed.

:37:37. > :38:01.A few mini opportunities popping up all over the place now.

:38:02. > :38:06.In the second set of the quarterfinal, Heather Watson had a

:38:07. > :38:14.real purple patch. Is she beginning to have one here? She is funny,

:38:15. > :38:18.Heather. She said after the match yesterday, I just get my first ball

:38:19. > :38:51.in, and Henri does the rest. I did think so somehow.

:38:52. > :38:59.Just those sorts of moments where Henri needs to make the return. He

:39:00. > :39:20.has missed a few off backhand throughout the tournament.

:39:21. > :39:52.The signals telling her where to serve.

:39:53. > :40:11.CROWD: Come on, Heather! And not entirely sure who hit that,

:40:12. > :40:31.I think it might have been Henri. Heather Watson has made that, time

:40:32. > :40:38.right onto the baseline. I wonder if they know not to serve to the Watson

:40:39. > :40:40.backhand. British fans are quite happy to see that happening time and

:40:41. > :40:55.again. Now, then, first break point the

:40:56. > :41:36.Kontinen and Watson. That was a brave second serve. 101

:41:37. > :42:31.mph. Difficult shadows on the court at

:42:32. > :42:33.the moment. It can be tough when the ball comes out of the shadow into

:42:34. > :43:03.the bright light. UMPIRE: Four games all, first set.

:43:04. > :43:12.Really good reaction to that drive from Watson. Robert Farah, who like

:43:13. > :43:31.Henry Kontinen is 6-foot tall, getting up to the overhead.

:43:32. > :43:39.In the white there on the left, Chris Eaton, coach of Henri

:43:40. > :43:41.Kontinen, part of the reason that Henri is playing with Heather

:43:42. > :43:56.Watson. UMPIRE: Mr Farah challenging the

:43:57. > :44:02.call on the left-hand line, the ball was called in.

:44:03. > :44:17.15-15. Mr Farah has two challenges remaining.

:44:18. > :44:25.If Chris Eaton has a lot of talent to work with here.

:44:26. > :44:30.You can certainly see Kontinen as the grand slam contender in doubles

:44:31. > :44:45.in the next few years. Might have a stronger case this

:44:46. > :45:32.time. Yes. Great stretch from Heather, only

:45:33. > :45:56.five foot seven. Groenefeld five foot 11.

:45:57. > :46:07.Real Jack in the box, Kontinen, he is all over the place. He loves

:46:08. > :46:12.moving. Use some of them up very nicely describing him as a showman,

:46:13. > :46:16.who likes to exhibit his skills. Growing up in Finland he will have

:46:17. > :46:21.played a lot on very fast surfaces indoors, that is one of the reasons

:46:22. > :46:28.he has a big serve, very dynamic sort of player. Do not trust after

:46:29. > :46:33.about three shots, but if he could just temper that fractionally and

:46:34. > :46:37.add more subtlety to his game, particularly off the return, that is

:46:38. > :46:43.I'm sure what they are working on. Without taking away the flamboyance

:46:44. > :46:53.and enjoyment. He looks like he loves his tennis. They freely admit

:46:54. > :46:58.some of their, Sessions even in the middle of games are not necessarily

:46:59. > :46:59.about tennis. They told me they could not be broadcast, which makes

:47:00. > :48:02.me even more intrigued. It looks like Groenefeld directing

:48:03. > :48:03.traffic now. Still have not learned the lesson, do not serve to the

:48:04. > :48:43.Watson backhand. Quite fascinated by Farah's serve, I

:48:44. > :48:49.have not seen anyone been quite so far forward before they strike the

:48:50. > :48:53.ball. The toss is way in front of the baseline and I'm certain some

:48:54. > :49:02.point he is going to go head over heels, he is so fast into the court.

:49:03. > :49:18.Given that, would possible target be to lobby his opponent and force him

:49:19. > :49:49.to turn around. -- lob. Take a look at this, nice action,

:49:50. > :50:06.but he is way forward. He goes over the line in the air,

:50:07. > :50:09.and stays on his feet. You are allowed to be inside the baseline

:50:10. > :50:18.with your feet are not touching the ground.

:50:19. > :50:29.Clever second serve, swinging into the body of Anna-Lena Groenefeld,

:50:30. > :50:33.who could not get out of the way. Quite naturally Heather does not get

:50:34. > :50:37.a lot of top-spin but she gets quite a lot of slice, coming around the

:50:38. > :50:45.outside of the ball. That really suits her. She has this funny thing

:50:46. > :50:57.then she actually looks up before she has thrown the ball

:50:58. > :51:08.That is a stunning shot. CHEERING We have seen some amazing tennis and

:51:09. > :51:14.shots on Centre Court today but this might be one of the best. She is

:51:15. > :51:18.just so coordinated off the backhand wing. Andy Murray would have been

:51:19. > :52:03.proud of that lob. Fantastic. So important for the man to seize

:52:04. > :52:33.every opportunity to help out his partner when she is serving.

:52:34. > :52:41.Second double, struggling with the serve. John Peers incidentally to

:52:42. > :52:46.camera right of Chris Eaton. Henri's doubles partner and Wimbledon

:52:47. > :52:54.finalist last year with Jamie Murray.

:52:55. > :53:10.That is better. She is a much better when she commits to the serve.

:53:11. > :53:17.Now scoreboard pressure comes into play. Anna-Lena Groenefeld serving

:53:18. > :53:25.to stay in the set. Kontinen and Watson know that at worst they are

:53:26. > :53:30.in the tie-break. You have been sporting lots of idiosyncrasies

:53:31. > :53:33.about the service. We all have them, but look at Heather, she does not

:53:34. > :53:41.follow the ball, she already has her head up. Then she watches the ball

:53:42. > :53:46.as it comes into her view. It is not such a bad technique because it

:53:47. > :53:53.makes sure your head stays up. You do not pull down on the serve. Great

:53:54. > :54:00.purpose of what is happening for this tournament is that she does

:54:01. > :54:05.have a tendency to December rate on her second serve. If she can stand

:54:06. > :54:11.and hit hundreds from the practice court, she has to do this under huge

:54:12. > :54:19.pressure. We are out of the fun part of the Mixed Doubles. There is

:54:20. > :54:21.rather a lot at stake. For the rest of your life being able to say, I am

:54:22. > :55:56.a Wimbledon champion. Both teams have now served three

:55:57. > :56:30.double faults. For what it is worth Kontinen and

:56:31. > :56:43.Watson have played on tie-break, winning it. Farah and Groenefeld

:56:44. > :56:45.lost their only tie-break. Kontinen will be glad the sun has just behind

:56:46. > :57:45.the cloud. The different setup for Kontinen and

:57:46. > :57:46.Watson on return. A good idea. Just give your opponent is a different

:57:47. > :58:00.look. That is a fine return! And it is a

:58:01. > :58:07.terrific start to the tie-break for Kontinen and Watson.

:58:08. > :58:14.That is the return that is so important for the team. Kontinen

:58:15. > :58:18.sometimes gets that racket head a little open and it flies, but got on

:58:19. > :58:22.top of it there, gave it some control and pulled it down. Heather

:58:23. > :58:26.was going to serve to the deuce court. It is 3-0, Heather, you have

:58:27. > :58:55.to serve to the ad court! Oh, dear. It is not the biggest first serve

:58:56. > :59:10.from Watson, but it is accurate. But she is going back ready for a

:59:11. > :59:40.second serve. No, it found the line! She is happy she has only got one

:59:41. > :59:44.more train journey to make later tonight! I think they might be going

:59:45. > :00:29.to the champions' dinner if they win.

:00:30. > :01:20.It is dry mouth time for parents and friends.

:01:21. > :02:08.-- well dodged! Farah did really well there. Such an awkward volley.

:02:09. > :02:16.Well, it is remarkable. The men have not won a single point on serve in

:02:17. > :02:24.the tie-break, the women have won every single one. The 5-1 lead has

:02:25. > :02:49.virtually gone, we are back on serve.

:02:50. > :03:11.Suddenly, all the momentum with this pair.

:03:12. > :04:07.S they take the tie-break 7-5, and have the first set.

:04:08. > :04:17.SUE BARKER: What a tense tie-break that was, the to be running away

:04:18. > :04:21.with it, let the opponents back in, and then held firm. Mum looks

:04:22. > :04:25.delighted, and Watson and Kontinen are one setup. If you are just

:04:26. > :04:29.coming in, the news here at Wimbledon is that Andy Murray is the

:04:30. > :04:36.Wimbledon champion once again. This is how he finished it off against

:04:37. > :04:40.Milos Raonic of Canada. Wimbledon champion for the second time, and he

:04:41. > :04:43.had to do it the hard way, he was the favourite for the last nine days

:04:44. > :04:49.of the championship, Milos Raonic was throwing down serves of over 140

:04:50. > :04:58.mph, but Andy is the great defender, and he won in straight sets, 6-4,

:04:59. > :05:01.7-6, 7-6, and he raised his game in those tie-breaks to a level we have

:05:02. > :05:06.never seen before, and the motion now pours out from all he has been

:05:07. > :05:10.through over the last to weeks. We hope you can enjoy this one more

:05:11. > :05:15.than the emotional turmoil he went through in 2013 when he became the

:05:16. > :05:20.first British man to win here in 77 years. A proud Dave and Ian his

:05:21. > :05:27.family, and his team, at an Centre Court today. -- a proud day for Andy

:05:28. > :05:35.and his team. And an emotional Ivan Lendl. Here is the scene on the

:05:36. > :05:40.Hill, they have been enjoying today. It is now time to reveal our shot of

:05:41. > :05:44.the championship, and Marcus Willis has just got even more memorable for

:05:45. > :05:51.him, thousands of you voted this brilliant lob of Roger Federer the

:05:52. > :05:58.best shot of 2016, over 31% of you voted for Marcus Willis, 20% for

:05:59. > :06:01.Martina Hingis and 13% for up Andy Murray.

:06:02. > :06:26.Let's just enjoy that magnificent lob one more time.

:06:27. > :06:39.CHEERING JOHN McENROE: Roger is laughing!

:06:40. > :06:46.He has got some good hands and feel. This is too good.

:06:47. > :06:55.SUE BARKER: What a day it has been over Britain, Murray has won the

:06:56. > :06:59.title, Marcus has produced the shot of the tournament, can Heather

:07:00. > :07:01.Watson be part of the Mixed Doubles title? Back we go for the start of

:07:02. > :07:28.the second set. ANDREW CASTLE: An improvised return

:07:29. > :07:34.from Heather Watson, that is not in the coaching manual, it doesn't

:07:35. > :07:37.matter how you get it back. . Trying to think of a time where Heather

:07:38. > :07:42.hasn't made a return out here, she has just been so solid. Just allows

:07:43. > :08:19.Henri to be a little more flamboyant.

:08:20. > :08:26.Well, what an opportunity now. The first set secured, and a chance to

:08:27. > :09:10.break the Farah serve. It isn't easy when you switch ends,

:09:11. > :09:22.which is what they have done to keep the sequence.

:09:23. > :09:31.So he will have a few extra service games.

:09:32. > :09:36.Oh, Henri! It wasn't easy, but he had to make that one, Heather had

:09:37. > :09:41.played a brilliant point. He does like to take a big swing, doesn't

:09:42. > :09:42.he? He just didn't spot how good Heather's shot was, he backed off

:09:43. > :10:15.instead. I don't think you could see,

:10:16. > :10:20.actually, he is right in that little corner, the last remaining sunlight

:10:21. > :10:27.on Centre Court. Let's give him the benefit of the doubt, we like Henri.

:10:28. > :10:42.UMPIRE: Game, Farah/Miss Groenefelt. First game, second set.

:10:43. > :10:47.No wonder the Farah/ Groenefeld support are out in force. The hill

:10:48. > :10:54.would have been very steep if they had gone down a set and a break.

:10:55. > :11:12.Heather's mum got very excited at the end of that first set tie-break.

:11:13. > :11:53.Anna-Lena's turn now to be on the one place you don't want to be an

:11:54. > :11:58.Centre Court. That was pretty heavy anyway. She

:11:59. > :12:32.heard it, she didn't see it. Huge serving from Henry -- Henri

:12:33. > :12:34.Kontinen, that last one 132 mph. We still await the first break of

:12:35. > :13:06.serve. Played really well on the forecourt,

:13:07. > :13:52.has Groenefeld. It is good to see Anna-Lena out

:13:53. > :13:57.here, having built such a good career in doubles. Ten years ago,

:13:58. > :14:03.she was on the verge of the top ten in singles. It just all went awry

:14:04. > :14:08.for her, got away. She has regrouped well. She got to the quarterfinals

:14:09. > :14:18.at the French Open in 2006. Another brilliant return from

:14:19. > :14:52.Watson. Just occasionally you want to take

:14:53. > :14:58.Henri Kontinen aside and say make sure you get that return. Even if

:14:59. > :15:01.you just fade and block it, which would be very effective against a

:15:02. > :15:08.player who does not like the ball low. When your partner is returning

:15:09. > :15:13.this well, you have to contribute. That is why they have survived so

:15:14. > :15:29.long, because Heather keeps punching away, giving him another chance.

:15:30. > :16:08.It is a way of extending your career by becoming a really top-class

:16:09. > :16:19.doubles player, she has been numbered seven in the world in

:16:20. > :16:23.doubles earlier this year. Both doubles and mixed, there are so many

:16:24. > :16:32.of the doubles players who go on now into their 40s, they include the

:16:33. > :16:37.likes of Daniel Nestor. When she was at her best in singles, she had a

:16:38. > :16:43.few injuries, she used to practice in Arizona, she was a long way from

:16:44. > :16:47.home, got some injuries and ended up to take time out of the game and we

:16:48. > :16:52.did not know if we would see her. She relocated back to Germany and

:16:53. > :16:59.seems happier. I think it was a loss for the singles game. Just good that

:17:00. > :17:04.she has managed to resurrect her career, so many times, that does not

:17:05. > :17:09.happen. New balls in play and now it is Heather Watson who has got to

:17:10. > :17:58.cope with the sun in that far corner.

:17:59. > :18:04.What a difference, Watson really commits to that serve, she has

:18:05. > :18:09.improved her first serve out of all recognition over the last 18 months,

:18:10. > :18:19.spent some time practising the serving with Greg Rusedski.

:18:20. > :18:28.I actually thought when Heather was serving the first that it was better

:18:29. > :18:32.because the Centre Court feels higher the opposite end to where she

:18:33. > :18:39.is now because it is slightly slow because of the drainage. A lot of

:18:40. > :18:47.players say that the Royal box and feel slightly uphill. It is only

:18:48. > :19:08.fractional. It is not like the slope at Lord's! Nowhere near.

:19:09. > :20:27.High-quality, isn't it? Super. The women more than holding their own.

:20:28. > :20:49.A few more serves now being directed at the Watson forehand.

:20:50. > :20:54.He is saying, I will get one then one day, that is four in a row that

:20:55. > :21:19.you have missed, Henri! UMPIRE: Game, Farah-Groenefeld.

:21:20. > :21:23.First set, Kontinen-Watson. First love game of the match for the

:21:24. > :21:41.Colombian - German partnership. Kontinen-Watson ahead in that

:21:42. > :21:53.particular department, points one on serve. Henri getting some more

:21:54. > :21:58.returns in, he has had chances. If you are wondering when Britain won

:21:59. > :22:33.two of the Championship events in the same year, 1969.

:22:34. > :22:47.That is good. Think we will see more and more returns going down the

:22:48. > :22:56.line. It must feel like they are running out of options here.

:22:57. > :23:06.Good reactions from Watson. Heather has always played a lot of doubles,

:23:07. > :23:11.she was in the top 50 at one time, she is so sharp there. Quick hands,

:23:12. > :23:52.quick brain, quick feet, that is what you get with Watson.

:23:53. > :24:05.Fumbles. Good job it did not land on that hat, or else we would not have

:24:06. > :24:12.known which one it would be! It might be sticky that hat, it might

:24:13. > :24:18.have stuck to it! UMPIRE: Game, Kontinen-Watson. Three games all.

:24:19. > :24:30.Second set. Good pressure from Kontinen-Watson,

:24:31. > :24:32.they have only lost two points on their service games in their second

:24:33. > :25:07.set. He might be in trouble now, they

:25:08. > :25:13.might give him a telling off. It is a macho thing, if it is in the air,

:25:14. > :25:22.it is mine. It should be, really. A lot of cracks around the baseline.

:25:23. > :25:29.So that is how you do it, Henri! Get your return.

:25:30. > :26:41.I wish she would hit a forehand like that in singles.

:26:42. > :26:45.He blocked the return, they got into the rally, that is what he needs to

:26:46. > :27:23.do. Is it not the definition of madness

:27:24. > :27:28.if you keep doing the same thing again and again and again expecting

:27:29. > :27:37.the same result? I can see the logic.

:27:38. > :28:16.Well, credit to Groenefeld, she got the serve to the forehand. The shop

:28:17. > :28:24.is going to break down for Watson, it is that wing. -- shot. UMPIRE:

:28:25. > :28:57.Let, first service. Advantage, Miss Watson. Do not mess

:28:58. > :29:16.with Henri, he is getting fired up. He is making returns.

:29:17. > :29:34.Double faults and it is the first break of serve of the match.

:29:35. > :29:48.Suddenly made those returns and what a difference it makes. Heather

:29:49. > :29:54.really held things together. He is just helping her stay so relaxed in

:29:55. > :29:58.enjoying her tennis. She needs to bottle less and take it to the

:29:59. > :30:10.singles court. She is a wonderful talent.

:30:11. > :30:20.Kontinen has a little that too on the inside of his wrist which says

:30:21. > :30:28.never. -- never say never. If Watson holds, Kontinen at worst will have a

:30:29. > :30:36.chance of serving for the title. It is so crucial to back up the break.

:30:37. > :31:42.To reflect return from Groenefeld, so low over the net. It has been

:31:43. > :31:43.played with such intensity, there isn't any room for slip-ups from

:31:44. > :32:04.either team. Top marks for Henry. He has

:32:05. > :32:08.protected this Watson served so well, he has been brilliant across

:32:09. > :32:19.the net, making a nuisance of himself.

:32:20. > :34:17.UMPIRE: Kontinen/Miss Watson lead by five games to for and by one set to

:34:18. > :34:21.love. Suppose when you were a child and

:34:22. > :34:26.you are practising playing in the juniors, these were the moments you

:34:27. > :34:32.dream dog, coming out to serve for a Wimbledon title. It is really

:34:33. > :34:35.special. I remember seeing Heather when she was so young, and there

:34:36. > :34:40.were sacrifices from her family, going out to the States when she was

:34:41. > :34:44.young, her mother went with her so it divided the family. A big

:34:45. > :34:48.financial investment. Not everyone makes it, but Heather has already

:34:49. > :34:51.put together a very good career, and she needs a lift right now, where

:34:52. > :36:09.she is in singles. It is a corrected call, would you

:36:10. > :36:12.believe it? Evens a line judge is getting nervous, called out and then

:36:13. > :36:15.the line judge corrected his call, so we will start that point again,

:36:16. > :36:54.at 15-0. UMPIRE: Net, first service.

:36:55. > :37:00.Farah/Miss Groenefelt challenging the call, the ball was called in.

:37:01. > :37:06.So what is happening here, Groenefeld is challenging the call

:37:07. > :37:21.of let, it was wide, so it is a second serve.

:37:22. > :37:27.It is completely understandable, I think Henri will be serving for some

:37:28. > :37:28.big ovals titles in years to come, and this is the perfect

:37:29. > :38:14.apprenticeship for him. UMPIRE: Game, set and match,

:38:15. > :38:17.Kontinen/Miss Watson. 6-3, 6-4. At the start of the week, they had

:38:18. > :38:24.never played a match together in their lives, and they are the

:38:25. > :38:29.Wimbledon champions. For the first time in the history of these great

:38:30. > :38:33.championships, the final Sunday sees two Britains claiming championship

:38:34. > :38:55.titles. The royal seal of approval. Ladies and gentlemen, we would ask

:38:56. > :38:57.that you please remain in your seats for the trophy presentation

:38:58. > :39:03.ceremony, which will take place shortly in the Royal box. Not in

:39:04. > :39:10.their wildest dreams, and I don't think they. Smiling for the next

:39:11. > :39:19.couple of weeks, will they? -- I don't think they will stop smiling

:39:20. > :39:22.for the next couple of weeks. They will forever be able to say they are

:39:23. > :39:32.Wimbledon champions, something that is never taken away from you.

:39:33. > :39:40.I think they might enjoy the champions' dinner tonight. It won't

:39:41. > :39:46.be the last celebration for these two. Heather and Henri, never say

:39:47. > :40:04.never, you will go to the ball! They played really well, just that

:40:05. > :40:09.one break of serve in the entire match, and so nearly turned the

:40:10. > :40:15.tie-break around, but no third Mixed Doubles title for Anna-Lena

:40:16. > :40:24.Groenefeld, and Farah still waiting for a first Wimbledon title. Now,

:40:25. > :40:29.what happens here, the players will go up into the Royal box to receive

:40:30. > :40:33.their trophies from the president of the club, His Royal Highness, the

:40:34. > :40:37.Duke of Kent, and then after that, we understand, we will be hearing

:40:38. > :40:48.from Heather and Henri. And incidentally in addition to

:40:49. > :40:56.their trophies, Kontinen and Watson will take away ?100,000, they share

:40:57. > :41:02.it, and their opponents share ?50,000. And all the photographers

:41:03. > :41:17.gather underneath the Royal Box. It doesn't matter that they are on

:41:18. > :41:22.the hallowed ground of Centre Court. The chairman of the club, Philip

:41:23. > :41:24.Brook, invites three guests to play on it tomorrow, and then they start

:41:25. > :41:38.against the next year's championships.

:41:39. > :41:41.They will come up that staircase on the right-hand side, the runners-up

:41:42. > :41:53.first. Joe Brooke, the chairman's wife, in

:41:54. > :41:59.the front there. Ladies and gentlemen, this presentation of the

:42:00. > :42:07.Mixed Doubles and the Boys' Singles trophy will now take place in the

:42:08. > :42:12.box. His Royal Highness the Duke of Kent, President of the All-England

:42:13. > :42:13.Club. Ladies and gentlemen, the Mixed Doubles 2016 runners-up,

:42:14. > :42:16.Robert Farah and Anna-Lena Groenefeld.

:42:17. > :42:32.APPLAUSE They had a great tournament, got all

:42:33. > :43:08.the way to the final. And, ladies and gentlemen, the

:43:09. > :43:14.Wimbledon Mixed Doubles champions 2016, Henry Kontinen -- Henri

:43:15. > :43:32.Kontinen and Heather Watson! CHEERING

:43:33. > :43:50.It is a fairy tale. Dreams do come true.

:43:51. > :43:58.Coach, mother hidden behind him. Let's hope it is the springboard for

:43:59. > :44:05.success in singles as welfare Heather Watson. She should take

:44:06. > :44:09.immense confidence from this. She played brilliantly throughout this

:44:10. > :44:12.whole Mixed Doubles event. They gelled wonderfully, wonderful

:44:13. > :44:16.chemistry between them, it is a springboard for Henri as well. What

:44:17. > :44:32.a way to end the Championships. ANNOUNCER: And now, ladies and

:44:33. > :44:35.gentlemen, the Wimbledon Boys' Singles champion 2016, Denis

:44:36. > :44:43.Shapovalov. CHEERING

:44:44. > :44:47.From Canada, so Canada have been runners-up in the Men's Singles, but

:44:48. > :45:01.maybe a future champion, Denis Shapovalov. He beat the Australian,

:45:02. > :45:07.Ted Mack to, 46, -- Alex De Minaur, 4-6, 6-1, 6-3. He looks as tall as

:45:08. > :45:13.Milos Raonic. What a special moment for them to be invited into the

:45:14. > :45:20.Royal Box. Ladies and gentlemen, that concludes proceedings here on

:45:21. > :45:29.Centre Court. We hope, yes, we hope...

:45:30. > :45:35.You so the Championships are over for another year.

:45:36. > :45:37.What a great day for British tennis, two wheelchair titles, the Mixed

:45:38. > :45:42.Doubles and of course the Men's Singles.

:45:43. > :45:48.SUE BARKER: What a wonderful story. They had never played a tournament

:45:49. > :45:53.before this and now they are crowned champions. Earlier this afternoon,

:45:54. > :45:58.Andy Murray was crowned Wimbledon champion earlier. What an emotional

:45:59. > :46:03.journey it has been for a young boy dreaming of winning Wimbledon and

:46:04. > :46:04.now he has won it twice. It is another chapter in his incredible

:46:05. > :46:28.sporting story. The crowd rose four Andrew Murray --

:46:29. > :46:46.first Wimbledon, first major. What a debut. Straight sets. What a

:46:47. > :46:49.performance. I went to try, but it will not be easy. The support has

:46:50. > :47:01.been incredible, thank you. First Grand Slam final

:47:02. > :47:04.for Milos Raonic. He is giving big Milos

:47:05. > :47:15.the runaround here. Deep second serve, and he has taken

:47:16. > :47:23.a giant step towards a second Wimbledon champion again,

:47:24. > :47:52.a supreme performance, So many incredible moments you have

:47:53. > :47:56.had, it must be a very special tournament for you. Obviously, all

:47:57. > :48:01.the British tennis players, Wimbledon is the biggest event that

:48:02. > :48:06.we play in during the year and to win here for a second time is an

:48:07. > :48:11.amazing feeling. Did you dream of winning when you were a young boy,

:48:12. > :48:18.you and your brother? When you are kids, obviously you watch the big

:48:19. > :48:23.events and I just wanted to play on the tour. When I went to Spain to

:48:24. > :48:29.train when I was 15, my goal was to get into the top 100 and once you do

:48:30. > :48:33.that and you start competing against the best players and playing in

:48:34. > :48:39.these competitions, you think, maybe I could win one of these events. It

:48:40. > :48:44.was not until I was 18 or 19 that I started thinking about potentially

:48:45. > :48:49.winning the Grand Slams. You have won it not just once but twice, did

:48:50. > :48:58.you enjoy this one more? Yes, much more. Different emotions. When I won

:48:59. > :49:04.the first time, I was so relieved to have done it, that I did not enjoy

:49:05. > :49:09.the moment as much as I should have done. I will not make that mistake

:49:10. > :49:14.again. I will enjoy this, it has been a long few years since I last

:49:15. > :49:18.won a Grand Slam. I will enjoy the next few days. Talk us through the

:49:19. > :49:25.emotions that you went through from the match point, what were you

:49:26. > :49:35.feeling, serving? I was thinking a little bits, about the past final

:49:36. > :49:42.that I played, because I obviously had three match points at 40-0 on my

:49:43. > :49:46.serve and then I was 6-1, lost the first one and you do start thinking

:49:47. > :49:51.about that a little bit. I just had to keep trusting what I was doing

:49:52. > :49:55.and trusting my shots and played and I suppress a point to finish it.

:49:56. > :50:00.This was a nice moment as well, I think they were asking you about

:50:01. > :50:05.your daughter and you were talking about just being young parents

:50:06. > :50:12.together. It was great to have them come and support. It is always

:50:13. > :50:18.difficult, when there are cameras in your face, it is not the most

:50:19. > :50:25.relaxed surroundings. It was nice. The support today from everyone, was

:50:26. > :50:31.great, great atmosphere. I was really happy that I could win it

:50:32. > :50:34.again. This is a special moment. Thousands and thousands of people

:50:35. > :50:41.who were sat on the hill cheering every point. We are used to playing

:50:42. > :50:49.in front of big crowds, but when you go out there and see the amount of

:50:50. > :50:52.people who are waiting, supporting, watching, I think the match was on

:50:53. > :50:56.the big screen in some of the other courts, there was an amazing amount

:50:57. > :51:01.of people are, I am very grateful for all the support they have given

:51:02. > :51:08.me. They are all saying what you have done for them and British

:51:09. > :51:13.board. Explain this,! I had to go and do some recovery stuff after the

:51:14. > :51:18.match. I hopped into the ice bath with the trophy. I did not want to

:51:19. > :51:22.let go of it because I will not get to see it now until tomorrow

:51:23. > :51:28.morning. Do they not give you a replica to take home? I do not know

:51:29. > :51:34.if I get it today, but the real one I would like to have taken it back,

:51:35. > :51:38.I wanted to sleep with it. I kept hold of it for as long as I could

:51:39. > :51:43.and now they have taken it away. If you could take it home and get a

:51:44. > :51:47.picture with Sofia, you want to be so proud of you and I lovely picture

:51:48. > :51:50.of her with the trophy be nice. I'm sure we will get one, perhaps just

:51:51. > :51:57.with the replica but I'm sure we will get a few. Has it sunk in, you

:51:58. > :52:04.were very emotional on the Centre Court when you were talking, has it

:52:05. > :52:10.sunk in? I saw my whole team and it is really nice after the match as

:52:11. > :52:18.well, just got to chat to Stephane Edberg and Boris Becker was in there

:52:19. > :52:24.as well, Pat Cash... All Wimbledon champions, people that I watched

:52:25. > :52:31.when I was growing up. Seeing them and talking to them was really nice.

:52:32. > :52:38.I have not got to see any of my family really, it has been quite

:52:39. > :52:41.busy but I will see them tonight. The champion's dinner, you have that

:52:42. > :52:45.to look forward to. You're talking about all of the great champions and

:52:46. > :52:51.they were talking about how you defend so well. He was throwing

:52:52. > :52:56.bullets, the serve, right the way through, the big shots, serving and

:52:57. > :53:03.folly in, you got everything back. You're like a brick wall! I returned

:53:04. > :53:09.well today on his first serve especially and that was key. He can

:53:10. > :53:13.put a lot of pressure on you when he is getting a lot of free points off

:53:14. > :53:18.his serve but I felt I was getting a lot of returns and making him work

:53:19. > :53:24.really hard. That was one of the things I set out to do, it is not

:53:25. > :53:30.always that easy. Some good points. Is this the best you have ever

:53:31. > :53:36.played? I think consistently, yes. Since Monte Carlo really, I have

:53:37. > :53:44.played the finals in Madrid, the French Open and winning at Queen's,

:53:45. > :53:48.I had my best play. This is the best I have played in the grass court

:53:49. > :53:53.season, obviously the challenge is to keep that up for the rest of the

:53:54. > :53:59.year. Also, Tim Henman was giving out the statistic that you had only

:54:00. > :54:03.won one out of five tie-breaks against Milos Raonic. You had to be

:54:04. > :54:07.strong, you started so well. He is dangerous in tie-breaks. That was

:54:08. > :54:12.the thing. The closer it gets towards the end of the tie-break, if

:54:13. > :54:16.it is even with his serve and the offensive game style that he plays,

:54:17. > :54:23.he can put pressure on you. Just because of the scoreboard. I managed

:54:24. > :54:30.to get big leads in both of the tie-breaks, made him play a lot, I

:54:31. > :54:34.do not think I missed any returns. That was important to get big leads

:54:35. > :54:39.at the start of the tie-breaks, especially in the third set as well.

:54:40. > :54:44.You're playing for a Wimbledon title and the tie-break is a bit like a

:54:45. > :54:48.penalty shoot out, thankfully I got ahead early. I know you're keen to

:54:49. > :54:53.see your family, but I have to ask, what is next? We know that the Davis

:54:54. > :54:59.Cup quarterfinal is against Serbia, have you made a decision? I will

:55:00. > :55:06.speak to my team tonight and chat to Lyon as well tomorrow. Physically I

:55:07. > :55:13.feel good, it is a long summer, with a lot of surface changes but as I

:55:14. > :55:20.said in the press conference, right now, I want to play every day, I

:55:21. > :55:26.feel great. I also need to think with the Olympics coming up as well,

:55:27. > :55:37.and the hard court stretch, but it does not get too much, but I will

:55:38. > :55:41.chat to my team about it tonight and speak to Leon. We have always had a

:55:42. > :55:47.great relationship and communicated well, we might decide tomorrow

:55:48. > :55:50.morning, when I wake up. A change of court surfaces tough. One word of

:55:51. > :55:57.falling, I do not know whether you saw the champions dinner last year,

:55:58. > :56:03.Serena Williams and Novak Djokovic introduced the dams. You ready for

:56:04. > :56:07.that? No. The next winners can try it again. No dancing for me tonight.

:56:08. > :56:12.Unless I have had a few glasses of champagne, then it is possible. I

:56:13. > :56:18.remember you telling me that the last time you drank champagne, you

:56:19. > :56:24.thought you had toothpaste... As I was flying back... This was not the

:56:25. > :56:28.last time, but one of the times, I was flying back from New York and

:56:29. > :56:34.could not sleep so I had a couple of glasses of champagne and ended up

:56:35. > :56:39.getting up in the morning, it is a short flight, woke up, and basically

:56:40. > :56:46.went to brush my teeth and I have put shaving foam on it instead of

:56:47. > :56:51.toothpaste, on the toothbrush. I was helped him to keep an eye out for

:56:52. > :56:55.you tonight. Congratulations, you are an incredible sportsman and well

:56:56. > :56:59.done today. Fantastic, not just for British tennis but British board as

:57:00. > :57:04.well. We have heard from Andy but let us hear from two of his team,

:57:05. > :57:08.who have steered him to this title, eve online all and Jamie dugout oh.

:57:09. > :57:19.You have just come from the dressing, described the scenes in

:57:20. > :57:27.there? It is great, everyone is elated. What was it like? Obviously

:57:28. > :57:31.everybody is thrilled, because Andy and his team have been working

:57:32. > :57:36.really hard for the entire year to achieve that, it is great. Jamie,

:57:37. > :57:42.you have a glass of champagne, whether a few bottles cracked "Macro

:57:43. > :57:48.it was so deserved. He has worked so hard, lost a few of these finals

:57:49. > :57:54.now. It is amazing for him. When you come into the dressing, either a few

:57:55. > :58:00.tears between all of you? I cannot lie, I had a few tears in my eyes. I

:58:01. > :58:06.think there were a few. You always have a stony face, but did you shed

:58:07. > :58:12.a tear. That is as good as it gets. Why not? What was it like watching

:58:13. > :58:17.for you, because seemingly it was a comfortable match so what was like

:58:18. > :58:26.sitting there? Get in their! And other member of the team. What was

:58:27. > :58:30.it like watching? Maybe it looked comfortable for you, but with the

:58:31. > :58:35.server like Milos Raonic you cannot let up for a second. Just imagine if

:58:36. > :58:41.he broke early in the third and then there was the tie-break, we are

:58:42. > :58:47.still out there. The match was just one break of serve. The focus Andy

:58:48. > :58:51.had was fantastic. I think from his point he kept the pressure on him

:58:52. > :58:57.really well and was creating a few chances. I said that I felt pretty

:58:58. > :59:01.confident. There was a difficult match but we are delighted for him.

:59:02. > :59:08.When you were sitting there, you do not show a lot of emotion, had you

:59:09. > :59:12.keep those emotions in check? Maybe I am asleep, you never know! How do

:59:13. > :59:19.you do it? I am just observing a lot, obviously I am worded about it

:59:20. > :59:23.at certain times more than others. While we are observing, we are

:59:24. > :59:28.talking about what we see, because four eyes are better than two and

:59:29. > :59:32.Jamie has a great guy. We're talking about how we need to improve things.

:59:33. > :59:37.You have been a brilliant coach, will we see you at Wimbledon next

:59:38. > :59:41.year sitting in his box? I sure hope so. Brilliant, celebrations to my,

:59:42. > :59:50.what will it be like for the team? Crazy. Who will be leading it? You

:59:51. > :59:54.already had a preview with that guy. Thank you.

:59:55. > :00:08.SUE BARKER: They should be on the stage! Two comedians there. But what

:00:09. > :00:14.a team, Jamie Delgado taking Andy through the first few weeks of the

:00:15. > :00:20.year, and then Ivan Lendl joining in, what a story. Here is Heather

:00:21. > :00:28.Watson, and her partner Henri Kontinen of Finland, she claims the

:00:29. > :00:32.title, they got a couple of walkovers, and then they were just

:00:33. > :00:37.beating one seed after another, and today it was the 15th seeds, Robert

:00:38. > :00:41.Farah and Anna-Lena Groenefeld who they beat, and Heather's proud

:00:42. > :00:46.mother was watching on, look at her, so excited! When you go back to the

:00:47. > :00:49.first couple of days of the Championships, she was so

:00:50. > :00:54.disappointed to lose in the singles, but these are the scenes she will

:00:55. > :00:57.remember from Wimbledon 16, and we celebrate along with her, we all

:00:58. > :01:03.celebrate with her. An absolutely wonderful story. Let's now hear from

:01:04. > :01:08.Heather and Henri, because Gary went to speak to them as well.

:01:09. > :01:18.Many congratulations, Wimbledon champions. How does that sound?

:01:19. > :01:25.Pretty awesome! You are holding this so close! They tell me to do that. I

:01:26. > :01:30.can't describe how happy I am right now, I can't stop smiling. I

:01:31. > :01:34.couldn't have picked anybody better to share this experience with Van

:01:35. > :01:39.Henri. We had so much fun from the first point in our first match to

:01:40. > :01:43.the last one, and I think that is why we did so well, and played well

:01:44. > :01:50.together, and thank you for putting up with me! What do you say to the

:01:51. > :01:54.attribute? I think she said it all. There was nothing to put up with, I

:01:55. > :02:01.don't remember having this much fun on a tennis court probably ever. It

:02:02. > :02:07.was a dream ride we had this week, and we enjoyed every minute of it.

:02:08. > :02:11.How did you make it such fun? Incredibly, you go out there, it

:02:12. > :02:16.makes you relax? I think our personalities are pretty laid back,

:02:17. > :02:21.and we like to have a good time. And Mixed Doubles also is a fun thing

:02:22. > :02:25.that we don't get to play very often, so I think it is important to

:02:26. > :02:30.try and enjoy it as much as you can, even though you do want to win and

:02:31. > :02:35.we are all competitive. But I think that is just us and we gelled

:02:36. > :02:38.straightaway. Brilliant. Congratulations, thank you very

:02:39. > :02:43.much, enjoy your evening. Thank you. SUE BARKER: And Heather and Henri

:02:44. > :02:48.will be going to the champions' dinner as well. Let's round up some

:02:49. > :02:56.of the other finals from today. Denesh above all of from Canada won

:02:57. > :03:12.the Boys' Singles 6-3, he beat the number one seed in the final, --

:03:13. > :03:19.Denis Shapovalov. And he has put out Alex De Minaur. I'm sure we will

:03:20. > :03:21.hear more from him. And the winners of the Girls' Doubles final, they

:03:22. > :03:51.are excited, they went through and Gordon Reid won the first

:03:52. > :03:59.singles event in the wheelchair, he was celebrating for about 15 minutes

:04:00. > :04:05.after, he won 6-1, 6-4. He was the Australian Open champion earlier

:04:06. > :04:15.this year, now here's the Wimbledon champion, and there he is being

:04:16. > :04:21.given the trophy. Another trophy to add.

:04:22. > :04:33.What lovely weather we are ending the tournament with. Clare will have

:04:34. > :04:40.highlights in about 20 minutes time. Jordanne Whiley and her Japanese

:04:41. > :04:48.partner today were going through a third straight doubles title, her

:04:49. > :04:50.partner was Yui Kamiji. We join it at two games all in the second set,

:04:51. > :05:10.and Jordanne and Yui have the lead. Jordanne is delighted with that. It

:05:11. > :05:13.is beaming down on her today. For the first time in this second set,

:05:14. > :05:26.we have another break point. Brilliant. Nice, says her partner,

:05:27. > :05:47.Kamiji. That was such a measured volley from

:05:48. > :05:50.Jordanne Whiley, she just snatched a few of those early on, but I think

:05:51. > :06:02.she is feeling really confident on the court now. Opens up the rest,

:06:03. > :06:11.lays it back a little, just nudges it into the space. She knew her

:06:12. > :06:20.opponent wasn't getting that one. When Whiley and Kamiji first paired

:06:21. > :06:23.up, I think Yui Kamiji's English wasn't that good, so there was a lot

:06:24. > :06:33.of sign language between them, nodding and smiling, but Yui 's

:06:34. > :06:39.English has improved as a result of her rapport with Jordanne. It is

:06:40. > :06:42.important to share that doubles relationship with someone, the

:06:43. > :06:47.journey with somebody in doubles. It is really relaxing and soothing, and

:06:48. > :06:52.then over time, the players evolve into even better singles players as

:06:53. > :06:58.a consequence. She had so much on the world tour. Jordanne Whiley has

:06:59. > :07:02.had no sporting success of the doubles court for a few years now,

:07:03. > :07:08.but it is just starting to come through on the singles court as

:07:09. > :07:09.well. She won her first super series title, which in terms of prestige is

:07:10. > :07:34.one tier below the Grand Slams. Jordanne 's mum is also on the side

:07:35. > :08:05.there, in a blue jacket. Another sublime drop shot from Yui

:08:06. > :08:11.Kamiji to seal the game, a step in their lead now. There are well on

:08:12. > :08:14.the way to possibly a third Wimbledon title. He will be

:08:15. > :08:27.delighted inside, dad, Keith. 40 gorgeous setting it is here

:08:28. > :08:34.through the belly of as W 19, sandwiched between Centre Court and

:08:35. > :08:38.number one court, church roadside. The non-ticket holders can buy their

:08:39. > :08:41.ticket on the left of here and find their way in. This is the final day

:08:42. > :10:03.of play today from 2016 Wimbledon. I loved the little cry made rally of

:10:04. > :10:08.Yui, Yui! The edge ever closer to another Wimbledon title. For the

:10:09. > :10:12.Dutch duo at the bottom of your picture, this is pretty much a must

:10:13. > :10:20.win game, otherwise they are right up against it.

:10:21. > :10:45.Thunderous from Yui Kamiji there, the lefty of the team.

:10:46. > :10:55.A mini opportunity here to edge towards 5-2 for the top seeds.

:10:56. > :11:04.Concedes with Olimpa double fault, Aniek Van Koot is a player of such

:11:05. > :11:09.talent, that will hurt. Two break point opportunities for

:11:10. > :11:31.the top seeds. Aniek Van Koot redeems herself after

:11:32. > :11:37.a double fault prior, but still has work to do here. Second break point

:11:38. > :11:55.opportunity for Yui Kamiji and Jordanne Whiley.

:11:56. > :12:04.Oh, she has just spilled wide again. So the Anglo Japanese combination

:12:05. > :12:14.put themselves in a very dominant position. A set and 5-2 for the top

:12:15. > :12:19.seeds. They will be feeling really, really good about their situation

:12:20. > :12:34.right now. A game away from another Wimbledon title. That is five games

:12:35. > :12:41.in a row for Kamiji and Whiley. Dad will be delighted there, Keith,

:12:42. > :12:46.sandwiched between the to players. Look at that. Talk about dominance.

:12:47. > :12:51.12 of the last 15 in favour of the top seeds in your picture. No wonder

:12:52. > :12:55.they are all smiles and there is great communication between the to

:12:56. > :13:00.of them. Conversely, you would imagine the second seeds being

:13:01. > :13:05.fairly quiet, feeling a little downbeat at their situation, but

:13:06. > :13:10.they are full of energy and they are desperate to recover. And that lady

:13:11. > :13:17.in the blue jacket in your picture is Julie, that is Jordanne 's

:13:18. > :13:18.mother, she will no doubt be on the edge of her set for what may be the

:13:19. > :13:43.last game. You see that so much in doubles, the

:13:44. > :13:47.Gulf in the middle of the court, a lot of traffic gets driven down

:13:48. > :14:18.there, it can be a miscommunication thing.

:14:19. > :14:26.A penetrating backhand slice from Aniek Van Koot, too much for

:14:27. > :14:31.Jordanne Whiley to retrieve. You have to watch her, she can ignite at

:14:32. > :14:40.any time, Van Koot, very dangerous on the court.

:14:41. > :14:50.But it comes at a price. And that price, unforced error is, and these

:14:51. > :14:52.two will be gladly receiving them right now. Two points away from the

:14:53. > :15:11.Wimbledon title. Just pulled that one off a little. I

:15:12. > :15:17.am sure her pulse is racing right now. It is an easy thing to say, go

:15:18. > :15:31.one point at a time at this stage, but it is difficult to do.

:15:32. > :15:42.Wonderful angle from Yui Kamiji. And after an hour and seven minutes

:15:43. > :16:03.then, this has brought up a match point opportunity for the top seeds.

:16:04. > :16:13.Untimely double faults. When Gordon Reid was serving for the match

:16:14. > :16:17.earlier, he also started off with a double fault but was a -- able to

:16:18. > :16:34.close it out on his second match point.

:16:35. > :17:17.Second match point opportunity. For Yui Kamiji and Jordanne Whiley here.

:17:18. > :17:35.Look at their reaction! It is a trio of consecutive Wimbledon titles,

:17:36. > :17:47.three in a row for Jordanne Whiley and Yui Kamiji. They are the most

:17:48. > :17:52.incredible doubles team, Jordanne Whiley and Yui Kamiji, they won the

:17:53. > :17:56.Grand Slam" and now Jeff Newton handing over another trophy, another

:17:57. > :18:06.Wimbledon title for this incredible pair. Well done to Jordanne Whiley

:18:07. > :18:12.and Yui Kamiji. And one other final to bring you, it is from the Boys'

:18:13. > :18:23.Doubles and the winners were Kenneth Raisma and his partner. It was not

:18:24. > :18:29.to be another triumph for Denis Shapovalov and his partner, the

:18:30. > :18:33.Canadian. Kenneth Raisma and Stefanos Tsitsipas are the Wimbledon

:18:34. > :18:37.champions. That runs up finals today. As the sun begins to set over

:18:38. > :18:41.London, it is almost time for us to say goodbye to the Championships but

:18:42. > :18:47.before we leave, let us look back at some of the headlines here and much

:18:48. > :18:55.more. Here is John Inwood al's take on Wimbledon 2016. So it is over for

:18:56. > :18:59.another year... The final ball is struck, leaving some elated, others

:19:00. > :19:07.deflated and all those involved in exhaust on. That middle Sunday takes

:19:08. > :19:13.it out of you. 14 days of covers on and covers off, rescheduling here

:19:14. > :19:17.and there, not the best of championships for some. Massive win

:19:18. > :19:21.for Sam Querrey. Massive shock for Wimbledon. But not the worst.

:19:22. > :19:27.Everything these days is one or the other. There is no in between. Last

:19:28. > :19:33.Wednesday, the most remarkable single day in Wimbledon history. Or

:19:34. > :19:37.just the best Wednesday? Or just the best second Wednesday? How does that

:19:38. > :19:41.make Thursday feel both macro meanest Thursday. It is not just in

:19:42. > :19:50.conversation for now, but for ever, past present and future. The one D

:19:51. > :19:54.generation and the HD. The wettest, the dullest, the saddest, the

:19:55. > :20:02.happiest, the fastest, the strangest, the unlikeliest, the

:20:03. > :20:06.angriest. Another piece of Wimbledon history created here. The most

:20:07. > :20:14.amazing comeback ever. Really? What ever happened to prospective? And

:20:15. > :20:18.yet sometimes, the gist is beyond argument. Serena Williams does have

:20:19. > :20:23.the finest women serve ever. She almost certainly would be the

:20:24. > :20:31.biggest Grand Slam champion ever. Roger Federer is the most charming

:20:32. > :20:36.player of all time. Milos Raonic is more like Pete Sampras. Andy Murray

:20:37. > :20:42.need never win another match because he is Britain's greatest of all

:20:43. > :20:49.time. We have reached that word, the greatest. Who says? What are the

:20:50. > :20:56.criteria? Who cares? Every year Wimbledon reclaim is the right to

:20:57. > :21:04.hyperbole, because it is probably the greatest tennis tournament in

:21:05. > :21:09.the world. It definitely is and so much happening today, with Andy

:21:10. > :21:17.Murray's Wimbledon triumph and if you want to see it once again, then

:21:18. > :21:21.join Claire at 10:50 p.m.. At the end of the week, it is the Davis Cup

:21:22. > :21:26.and it is Serbia against Great Britain in the quarterfinals which

:21:27. > :21:30.starts on Friday over the weekend. That is it, sadly it is time to say

:21:31. > :21:36.goodbye, another tournament has gone by, but what drama we have seen, the

:21:37. > :21:39.rain and the sun, we have had Marcus Willis and Heather Watson winning

:21:40. > :21:43.fairy tale stories but what great champions we with, the historic win

:21:44. > :21:45.for Serena Williams yesterday and Andy Murray today. From all of the

:21:46. > :22:04.BBC team, goodbye. Marcus Willis, the man ranked 772 in

:22:05. > :22:17.the world. What a wonderful story. Roger versus markets. David versus

:22:18. > :22:29.Goliath. -- markers. Come on Andy? At that big! . Ladies and abdomen,

:22:30. > :22:35.places bended. -- ladies and gentlemen, play suspended. It is

:22:36. > :22:56.very easy, it is from here. Look at it! Look at it! He has done

:22:57. > :23:29.it! Massive shock for Wimbledon! Welcome to the second week of the

:23:30. > :23:34.Championship six is simple and as easy and a as you could possibly

:23:35. > :23:45.imagine. She has reinvented herself, a Wimbledon final for Angelique

:23:46. > :23:49.Kerber. Milos Raonic through to his first Grand Slam final. When you

:23:50. > :23:57.have got a guy like that, you follow him. Come on, Andy! That is Sunday

:23:58. > :24:04.afternoon taking care of. To come this far, you must be pretty big. It

:24:05. > :24:13.is Serena Williams again. There can only be one champion, gametime. He

:24:14. > :24:26.is giving Milos Raonic the runaround here. Next break for Murray. You can

:24:27. > :24:26.sense the tension in the crowd. Wimbledon champion again. Andy
