:00:42. > :00:59.Are you sitting comfortably? Then I shall begin.

:01:00. > :01:09.Iouri Podladtchikov makes history! A clean sweep by the Dutch! Germany

:01:10. > :01:16.have won everything so far. Russia has a new superstar. The Olympic

:01:17. > :01:23.slalom title at 18! She has done it! A piece of history that will never

:01:24. > :01:27.be forgotten! Great Britain have won the bronze medal! It is gold again

:01:28. > :01:36.for the Lady of Norway! Zubkov is the champion! Well done, really well

:01:37. > :01:46.done! He becomes the greatest Winter Olympics in history! Eyes down!

:01:47. > :01:53.So, here we go, the sun is setting and we're going into the final hours

:01:54. > :01:57.of the 22nd Olympic Games in Sochi and all of the gold medals have been

:01:58. > :02:02.won down here on the coast of the Black Sea and up on the Caucasus

:02:03. > :02:06.mountains. We have seen in the victors and the vanquished united in

:02:07. > :02:10.this sport, and the host nation has finished at the top of the medals

:02:11. > :02:14.table and Britain have added the best ever Winter results, and over

:02:15. > :02:20.the programme we will look back at what happened over the last 16 days

:02:21. > :02:27.before the closing ceremony begins at four o'clock. As well as

:02:28. > :02:31.reviewing all of this sport, there were 12 sports that were brand-new,

:02:32. > :02:36.we will be sharing in, I guess, reflecting the slogan of these

:02:37. > :02:40.Olympics games, hot, hot competition, cool, cool because the

:02:41. > :02:44.climate and yours, because it was not just for them, because it with a

:02:45. > :02:48.game that was for everyone. As the build-up to the closing ceremony, we

:02:49. > :02:53.will also be looking at the daftness, and it is great fun, the

:02:54. > :02:57.daftness of the ice skating gala where everyone lets loose, no

:02:58. > :03:00.judges, no rules, they just go for it. We will also be talking to some

:03:01. > :03:07.of the experts that worked on the programme, and the of them was the

:03:08. > :03:13.only British medallist from Vancouver, it was Amy Williams. If

:03:14. > :03:18.you contrast to Vancouver to this, it was four medals, I know it is not

:03:19. > :03:22.20, but four is a lot of winter medals for a country that has not

:03:23. > :03:29.got a lot of these facilities, how successful was this for the team?

:03:30. > :03:33.Unbelievable. We have got the talent out there, but as you say, a lot of

:03:34. > :03:39.these athletes get no funding, they travel around the world during the

:03:40. > :03:45.winter, three dogs in the summer, they do not have the support of the

:03:46. > :03:51.summer athletes, but we can see with the performance is how much we can

:03:52. > :03:54.bring home more, so bring on the Olympics in four years time and we

:03:55. > :04:00.can top that tally again with the success we have got. How proud you

:04:01. > :04:04.that Lizzy Yarnold was inspired very much by you and the fact that she is

:04:05. > :04:08.carrying the flag, is that three skeleton athletes in a row carrying

:04:09. > :04:13.the flag at the closing ceremony? Yes, that is right, because think

:04:14. > :04:17.get with Shelley Rudman, than myself, and no Lizzy Yarnold. It is

:04:18. > :04:20.great to have a friend that is bringing home the gold medal, and I

:04:21. > :04:25.think it proves there is no reason why we cannot just continue this

:04:26. > :04:43.success and do the same kind of programme that Lizzy Yarnold

:04:44. > :04:46.states, with going for gold, and all of these schemes get the athletes

:04:47. > :04:48.into goals, and she was inspired by me four years ago, how many hundreds

:04:49. > :04:51.of thousands of people will be inspired by watching Lizzy Yarnold

:04:52. > :04:54.and are curlers and everyone else. How many more can we bring on in

:04:55. > :04:57.four years time? The last day of the games is a half-day, a lot of what

:04:58. > :04:59.happens happens in the morning, the Russians had a good start in the 50

:05:00. > :05:06.K freestyle cross-country and Canada won the ice hockey 3-0 against

:05:07. > :05:10.Sweden. We can see Canada getting their gold medal, a, they won in

:05:11. > :05:14.Vancouver in front of their home crowd to make a record 14 gold

:05:15. > :05:19.medals, and they have had another very, very good Winter Olympics

:05:20. > :05:23.games, but they were dominant in the men's ice hockey and many

:05:24. > :05:26.congratulations. But the four man bobsleigh offered an opportunity for

:05:27. > :05:31.Russia because of the one two, three in the cross country skiing, they

:05:32. > :05:36.assured their place at the top of the table, but Alexander Zubkov, he

:05:37. > :05:39.was the pilot for their four, they were the overnight leaders and Great

:05:40. > :05:44.Britain also had a chance of a medal, because going into the final

:05:45. > :05:48.run, John Jackson and his GB or team were in sixth place with GB or two

:05:49. > :05:53.piloted by Lamin Deen in 18th, as this is what happened in that final

:05:54. > :06:03.run. Welcome to the final day of

:06:04. > :06:09.bobsleigh, and what a final day it will be. GB won in striking distance

:06:10. > :06:18.of a bronze medal, but is difficult to look beyond the USA, Latvia and

:06:19. > :06:21.Russia at the moment. Here we go. Their best start time at the moment

:06:22. > :06:31.came right at the beginning of yesterday, and that is better. Great

:06:32. > :06:46.Britain are little bit off the pace, but they are 0.70 seconds off the

:06:47. > :06:54.lead. Great Britain is a force to be reckoned with. Up next, it is Great

:06:55. > :07:03.Britain won, come on, a big start is what you need. A magnificent start,

:07:04. > :07:13.truly world-class. Newly quarter of a second appear, a brilliant slide.

:07:14. > :07:24.-- nearly a quarter of a second up here. The best we have seen so far.

:07:25. > :07:30.That was remarkable. It has been a great race, sometimes being involved

:07:31. > :07:36.in such a close race, it makes it worthwhile and it is enjoyable. This

:07:37. > :07:44.is Russia two, can they get in with the medals?

:07:45. > :07:53.They had two hundredths of a second, they are as started by the Brits

:07:54. > :08:01.also. Great Britain are still in the lead. Have they overcome that starts

:08:02. > :08:05.deficit? Yes, is the answer. I think the Russians will go ahead of Great

:08:06. > :08:19.Britain and are chances of a medal are slipping away here. -- our

:08:20. > :08:25.chances. What can the USA do now? On fire, the Olympic champions, they

:08:26. > :08:30.want to hang on, they do not just want bronze, they want a gold-medal.

:08:31. > :08:35.This is going to be right down to the wire. A tab on the left-hand

:08:36. > :08:45.side. Has he done enough? Yes he has. 0.03 of a second, he absolutely

:08:46. > :08:54.livid. Two crews left to go, the Latvians are up next, can they do

:08:55. > :09:05.it? Dynamite pushing. A just start. 20 800s up on USA one. A new first

:09:06. > :09:10.place, that I am sure. They go into the lead, 0.03 of a second in the

:09:11. > :09:17.lead at the moment, and they have got it. John James Jackson and his

:09:18. > :09:24.crew... Here is the crew about to push with a gold-medal. Zubkov and

:09:25. > :09:33.his team, they have already won the two man. Here they go for the double

:09:34. > :09:39.entry history. A lovely little corrections steer. You can see the

:09:40. > :09:43.front runners twitching to avoid a top. This could be the gold medal

:09:44. > :09:47.winning performance. It looks like Russia is on for it. And it is

:09:48. > :09:52.Russia who have won the gold medal in the four man bobsleigh! This man,

:09:53. > :09:58.Alexander Zubkov, he is absolutely fantastic!

:09:59. > :10:03.I was watching it on Russian television, you can imagine the

:10:04. > :10:06.reaction of the Russian commentators, Alexander Dorozhko of

:10:07. > :10:12.who was persuaded out of retirement by President Putin, he has won two

:10:13. > :10:17.medals on the bobsleigh track, and he used to be a taxi driver, a taxi

:10:18. > :10:24.driver who would not hang around! If we look at how great John Jackson

:10:25. > :10:27.was, he has got you, he could not walk a few weeks ago! Yes, he had an

:10:28. > :10:33.Achilles tendon problem, he had pioneering surgery. The whole team

:10:34. > :10:37.joins together, they are such a unit. All of the teams, the other

:10:38. > :10:41.nations, they have noticed it, they've said, what is up with the

:10:42. > :10:47.boys, they do so well, they are pushed so hard, and to come in

:10:48. > :10:50.fifth, they are bowled over by this whole experience and what they

:10:51. > :10:55.managed to achieve. I think that shows you that is hard work and what

:10:56. > :10:59.they put into it behind-the-scenes. Do you think if they had been able

:11:00. > :11:03.to get more world ranking points of John Jackson had been fit throughout

:11:04. > :11:07.the season, they would have started in a different position, which is

:11:08. > :11:14.crucial, because they were 12th after that? Yes, it 12th world

:11:15. > :11:18.ranking, that is the start of four-year Olympic ranking, it is

:11:19. > :11:22.part of the sport, you all know that the conditions can change, it was a

:11:23. > :11:28.warm day, they kept a lot of the covers down which heated up the ice

:11:29. > :11:34.a little bit. But the run, when they go down, it deteriorates a little

:11:35. > :11:38.bit. But for Jacko, he would not been dealing with that, because you

:11:39. > :11:43.cannot control it, so considering that they pushed really well in

:11:44. > :11:47.those top bushes and actually, I think his four runs but so

:11:48. > :11:52.consistent, he was so consistent each time, that last run was one of

:11:53. > :11:59.the fastest out of the competition. -- those top bushes. The four of

:12:00. > :12:05.them are on a really great package altogether. Very nearly a fifth

:12:06. > :12:10.medal for Great Britain, but let us look at the final medal table and

:12:11. > :12:12.Russia, having had a very slow start hit the front yesterday and extended

:12:13. > :12:27.their lead over Norway today. Canada owning the podium in

:12:28. > :12:32.Vancouver and Russia have ruled the rostrum here in Sochi, and also,

:12:33. > :12:36.Norway very strong and Canada had a good games again, and the United

:12:37. > :12:40.States, it was OK for them, a few they will feel are missing, and the

:12:41. > :12:46.Netherlands was so strong in speed skating and they are right up there

:12:47. > :12:58.and Great Britain finishing in 19 position, thanks to these people.

:12:59. > :13:05.Every single on the position -- podium has been filled and many of

:13:06. > :13:10.them will be here for the closing ceremony. Lizzy Yarnold has come

:13:11. > :13:16.back, she is carrying the flag and the curlers will also be there. Last

:13:17. > :13:20.night had something special, no medals at stake and no judges but

:13:21. > :13:25.the ice caters like to round off by just getting out there and having a

:13:26. > :13:31.blast. Some of the routines are serious and some are just daft! Nick

:13:32. > :13:38.Buckland and Penny Coomes joined Sue Barker.

:13:39. > :15:20.This is the Gaelic getting underway. -- Galer. -- gala.

:15:21. > :15:32.It does not matter today. No judges, just enjoy it. That was the first

:15:33. > :15:33.time she had jumped! I had not noticed because skating was just so

:15:34. > :17:05.beautiful. -- her skating. Well, she has certainly made us

:17:06. > :17:10.smile! That was Mao Asada. And what might have been such a motion at the

:17:11. > :17:13.end of her free programme, she burst into tears because she wanted to

:17:14. > :17:18.give one last great performance, she had the silver medal four years ago

:17:19. > :17:22.and was sold as appointed after the short gram and all of that emotion

:17:23. > :17:27.just flooded out. But she nailed that programme. And she was under

:17:28. > :17:32.such pressure, the mark of a true champion to be able to come out and

:17:33. > :17:36.do that. She was criticised by the Federation because they were

:17:37. > :18:40.desperate for her to be on the podium. Here comes their

:18:41. > :18:55.combination, I think. There we are. One of the lasting memories. They

:18:56. > :18:58.have always had strong skills. And this season they have really pushed

:18:59. > :19:01.the boundaries. They have come up with exciting things. And they have

:19:02. > :19:38.done a great job. She is the face of Pantene here in

:19:39. > :21:17.Russia as well, I have seen all of those posters.

:21:18. > :21:24.Wasn't that nice as well? And they walk away from this Olympic Games

:21:25. > :21:36.with a gold medal and a bronze medal. So much to be proud of. These

:21:37. > :21:45.are going to be the two athletes that will be challenging. Yes, the

:21:46. > :21:52.ones for the future. Do you follow what they do and see what they be

:21:53. > :21:56.forming? I think, throughout the season, we always watch the

:21:57. > :22:01.performances at other competitions, just to see what our competitors are

:22:02. > :22:13.up to. I definitely recognise some pieces of the exhibition from their

:22:14. > :24:12.free dance. Some of the lifts. They won gold in the team event. That was

:24:13. > :24:38.hard music to skate two. -- to. The crowd always likes something

:24:39. > :24:42.lively that they can get behind. Yes, they like to get involved! And

:24:43. > :25:12.they love to see elements, just like that.

:25:13. > :25:22.Well, what a wonderful Olympic Games they have had, silver and gold. And

:25:23. > :25:27.we will see the gold medallist, Maxim Trankov, in the second half of

:25:28. > :25:34.this. They will be the last people to skate. 12,000 people here in this

:25:35. > :25:39.arena and the Russian skaters, needless to say, getting a huge

:25:40. > :25:45.ovation. And very nice that they are still trying those difficult moves,

:25:46. > :26:03.even though we see they can relax. Pulling out all of the stops. With

:26:04. > :26:11.music from Rolling Stones. She has been European champion so times.

:26:12. > :27:07.Carolina Kostner. And I am sure this will be very special.

:27:08. > :27:16.Very young, we should look better and how she the programme. Her

:27:17. > :27:26.component marks were absolutely huge. So expressive on the ice. --

:27:27. > :27:41.we should look at her. She was absolutely captivating. This

:27:42. > :29:21.is figure skating at its best. She has not put a foot wrong Seoul

:29:22. > :29:32.Olympics games, and this has been no different. -- this whole Olympic

:29:33. > :29:39.Games. Absolutely. It would be hard to beat that today here in this

:29:40. > :29:42.beautiful gala. She has done it all, world champion, European champion,

:29:43. > :29:47.now she has been on the Olympic podium, and that is what she wanted

:29:48. > :29:52.more than anything with her third attempt, and she will say goodbye at

:29:53. > :29:56.the end of this season, and boy, she has been a joy to watch over the

:29:57. > :30:05.years, and lovely to see her at her best here in Sochi.

:30:06. > :30:14.The grace and the beauty is second to none when she is on the ice. She

:30:15. > :30:26.is absolutely gorgeous, you cannot take your eyes off her. Next, this

:30:27. > :31:47.skater really let -- lit up this event.

:31:48. > :31:56.She makes those triple jumps look so easy. And I saw footage of from the

:31:57. > :32:01.age of ten landing triple jumps right the way through. She has been

:32:02. > :32:08.an amazing skater. Maybe felt a few nerves in the ladies Championships,

:32:09. > :32:12.but she looks rock-solid tonight. She has still got a lot of

:32:13. > :32:16.developments to do in terms of skating skills, still has got a lot

:32:17. > :32:21.of room to grow, so the next few years, we will see some special

:32:22. > :32:23.performances from this young girl. That is definitely something to look

:32:24. > :33:20.forward to. That is her trademark Spain. She can

:33:21. > :33:28.hold it for as long as she likes, she has got no time limit for this

:33:29. > :33:45.programme. -- that is her trademark spin.

:33:46. > :33:52.That is flexibility for you, and what a wonderful way to start this

:33:53. > :33:59.Olympic gala. All of the talk earlier on about the return of

:34:00. > :34:05.Yevgeny Pleshenko, but this girl is still the show, and electrifying

:34:06. > :34:11.performances. As we hear from Nick and Penny, she is one to watch, just

:34:12. > :34:18.15 years of age, another four years, the next Olympics, she will

:34:19. > :34:22.be heading for the gold medal. You can tell by the way that she carries

:34:23. > :34:27.herself on the eyes, she is very disciplined. -- carries herself on

:34:28. > :34:36.the ice rink. She has an amazing presence, the

:34:37. > :34:40.home crowd really enjoyed that, but we will bring you more highlights

:34:41. > :34:43.shortly, first, these are the scenes live in the Caucasus Mountains,

:34:44. > :34:51.earlier you saw the Caucasus Mountains, earlier use Saudi fished

:34:52. > :34:55.stadium where they are getting ready for the closing ceremony. -- earlier

:34:56. > :34:59.you Saudi Olympic Stadium Ribera getting ready. It will be converted

:35:00. > :35:03.into a football stadium, and this park will contain part of the

:35:04. > :35:07.Formula one track that will be here for the first-ever Russian Grand

:35:08. > :35:11.Prix in October, but the crowds are pouring in for the last time in

:35:12. > :35:15.terms of the Winter Olympics. If you think of the fears that people had

:35:16. > :35:18.coming here, the concerns about the host nation and that the athletes

:35:19. > :35:28.had that maybe things would not be quite as they had known. Well,

:35:29. > :35:31.Matthew Pinsent has been part of the team and you have been to ten

:35:32. > :35:33.Olympics, winter and summer, and what do you think about what you

:35:34. > :35:40.imagined it would be like and the reality of it? Yes, absolutely,

:35:41. > :35:43.there were worries about the logistics of putting it on, they

:35:44. > :35:49.spent billions of dollars on this, and I think there was a question

:35:50. > :35:53.about work and that money have gone with Mac how is it going to last?

:35:54. > :36:02.What is the legacy? But the experience of it all, the experience

:36:03. > :36:07.of being here. He will find his mate in a moment! Yes, the events have

:36:08. > :36:14.been stunning, the offence on the mountains, the weather has played

:36:15. > :36:21.ball, I think it is a big tick. -- the events on the mountains. These

:36:22. > :36:24.were concerns that this would be the opportunity for a President Putin to

:36:25. > :36:30.start the personal ethos honest, I am not sure that we have seen a lot

:36:31. > :36:35.of him, he has been to some event, the ice hockey did not work out as

:36:36. > :36:38.well as he helped, but the sport proving that it cannot be predicted

:36:39. > :36:46.and it cannot be used for political means. It was very interesting, the

:36:47. > :36:50.opening ceremony, when the IOC president said, do not use this as a

:36:51. > :36:54.pedestal for political manoeuvring, and I think broadly, the Russians

:36:55. > :36:58.have agreed to that, or certainly towed that line, as you say. Badaber

:36:59. > :37:07.Putin was certainly in evidence, but I do not think that he was

:37:08. > :37:11.grandstanding. -- President Putin. There was a rumour that he went to

:37:12. > :37:16.the bobsleigh, I did not CM, he might have been there. If we can

:37:17. > :37:20.imagine it, for the London Olympics, our Prime Minister was all

:37:21. > :37:24.over that a lot more than President Putin has been here, so we cannot be

:37:25. > :37:27.that judgemental about what he has done. The other issue has been drugs

:37:28. > :37:32.testing, six athletes tested positive today, do you think that

:37:33. > :37:35.the balance is changing? In the past, it was always the case that

:37:36. > :37:43.the cheaters were ahead of the testers. That was always the rumour.

:37:44. > :37:49.Do you think the testers are catching up? Well, by their very

:37:50. > :37:52.nature, the cheaters are invisible. I have been of the opinion that

:37:53. > :37:57.catching people is the good thing, even at the games having positive

:37:58. > :38:02.testing at high profile, that is a good thing. I think the testing is

:38:03. > :38:06.getting better. It is very difficult to say what the gap is. It's depends

:38:07. > :38:10.on budgets, if you look at the budget for Lance Armstrong, he was

:38:11. > :38:14.only an Olympic athlete for a tiny part of his career, but people with

:38:15. > :38:17.money to spend will usually find a way around and the saving grace

:38:18. > :38:35.again usually for Libby Catholics, is that they do not have a budget.

:38:36. > :38:43.There is not a standard. -- saving grace, usually for Olympic athletes.

:38:44. > :38:50.You cannot say. , sport is clean, that is that the idea that we were

:38:51. > :38:55.aiming for. Transport is normally a worry for athletes and people

:38:56. > :38:58.working in the games, that has been fantastic year, they invested in the

:38:59. > :39:02.road going up to the mountains which made it much more accessible than we

:39:03. > :39:08.have known in the past. You have been up and stand today. And unlike

:39:09. > :39:13.a normal Olympic city, normally you have the city downloader for the

:39:14. > :39:22.main venues, and then you have the mountains up-other events, but they

:39:23. > :39:27.are so closer here. And security slows people down, but they seem to

:39:28. > :39:33.be very efficient, I know they have a wall of steel, there are war ships

:39:34. > :39:37.out in the Black Sea, there are security, Army people up the

:39:38. > :39:43.mountains. They obviously were massively concerned about security.

:39:44. > :39:47.You're not securing a city which is a challenge in itself, like we were

:39:48. > :39:51.trying to do in London, in a Winter Olympics city, you have got

:39:52. > :39:55.thousands of acres to protect. They worried about people coming over the

:39:56. > :40:01.hills, and that was very difficult for them. But thankfully, there has

:40:02. > :40:05.been barely a flicker of that, and long may that last. We will be

:40:06. > :40:10.talking to Graham Bell and Ed Leigh shortly, but we're going to take you

:40:11. > :40:15.back now to the ice skating Gala and enjoy more of those routines in the

:40:16. > :40:19.company of Britain's number one ice dancing Koppel, Nick Buckland and

:40:20. > :40:33.Penny Coomes and also Sue Barker. -- ice dancing Coppell.

:40:34. > :41:09.This pair, they love to entertain, this is perfect for them.

:41:10. > :41:42.The crowd are clapping along already.

:41:43. > :42:08.They have chosen this music to say that they have had the time of their

:42:09. > :42:12.life dancing over the years, and they have loved it. They have

:42:13. > :43:50.innovative programmes and always deliver personality.

:43:51. > :43:59.Absolutely lovely. That is the way to do it in this gala. That is what

:44:00. > :44:02.the crowd has come here to see. They have always offered something

:44:03. > :44:07.different over the years and they have decided to call it a day. But,

:44:08. > :44:13.Nathalie Pechalat, it has been lovely watching you. So many

:44:14. > :44:16.different moods, spanning the old and the new system and making it

:44:17. > :44:24.work in both. Great champions over the years. Not only podium but so

:44:25. > :44:29.much to be proud of. They always offer something different to watch.

:44:30. > :44:37.That was really nice tonight. Such a nice routine. And those words meant

:44:38. > :44:40.a lot to them. They have had the time of their lives. Enjoying their

:44:41. > :44:46.skating over the years. Great champions. One of the most popular

:44:47. > :45:27.skaters. Fernandez. You can see why he is one of the

:45:28. > :45:41.favourites! Here's just fantastic! He is going to make himself busy! --

:45:42. > :47:45.dizzy. That is how to deliver a show! That

:47:46. > :47:52.is the best performance of the night. He had the crowd in his hand

:47:53. > :47:58.all the way through. So entertaining, Javier Fernandez. Such

:47:59. > :48:01.a disappointing Olympics for him, he was third after the short programme

:48:02. > :48:07.but he finished fourth. Great just to hear how popular he is. He has

:48:08. > :48:12.won the European Championships twice and I am sure he will be on the

:48:13. > :48:17.podium again soon. It has been disappointing for him but just look

:48:18. > :48:21.at how much he is progressing and he has moved up the ranks. Overall, he

:48:22. > :48:26.should be really pleased with himself. He has got plenty of time

:48:27. > :48:38.ahead of him. Even a medal at the next Olympic Games.

:48:39. > :49:26.The Queen, as she is known. So much controversy when she got the silver

:49:27. > :49:37.medal. And that rumbles on and on. # IMAGINE. She has certainly left her

:49:38. > :51:42.mark on figure skating and watching this, you can certainly see why.

:51:43. > :51:53.Well, another mesmerising performance from Kim Yuna. She might

:51:54. > :51:58.be taking home silver, but for many people watching that flawless

:51:59. > :52:02.programme, they gave her the gold and that controversy will rumble on.

:52:03. > :52:07.But she has a gold medal from four years ago. And she has been the

:52:08. > :52:11.greatest ladies cater for many years. It was great that she came

:52:12. > :52:16.back to compete one more time. It was not the medal she came for but

:52:17. > :52:21.she has certainly given us some lasting memories. And beautiful

:52:22. > :52:31.routines. That was an effortless quality. In everything she does on

:52:32. > :52:58.the ice. Next, two of the most pop skaters. Tessa Virtue and Scott

:52:59. > :53:01.Moir. They have been a huge inspiration to Penny Coomes and

:53:02. > :53:06.myself. You can just see the chemistry. They are certainly worth

:53:07. > :53:20.the Olympics over medallists. And the champions from Vancouver. --

:53:21. > :53:25.were the Olympic silver medallists. They have such a different style.

:53:26. > :54:49.Something so delicate, absolutely. They have the ability to draw you

:54:50. > :54:55.end with such simple movements. You cannot take your eyes off them, and

:54:56. > :55:08.they are not doing such difficult steps.

:55:09. > :55:15.They tell a story and they create their own little bubble and the

:55:16. > :55:18.passion between them just draws you in. And you are just mesmerised by

:55:19. > :55:55.their connection. There are beautiful routine in

:55:56. > :55:59.Vancouver will never be forgotten and after winning silver, Scott went

:56:00. > :56:05.back onto the ice afterwards and he kissed the Olympic rings. That was

:56:06. > :56:10.like saying goodbye. And we will be very sorry to see them going. Great

:56:11. > :56:27.chemistry, great quality in their skating always.

:56:28. > :56:31.Be forgotten Russian skater one week ago. She claimed the gold medal in

:56:32. > :56:56.the ladies Championship. She skated right before us in the

:56:57. > :58:26.European Championships and this is a very nice routine she has got.

:58:27. > :58:41.I am not sure that was supposed to happen, but she is improvising.

:58:42. > :58:48.It is nice that this programme has two parts to it, so at first, we see

:58:49. > :58:56.her with the silk creating some beautiful touches. And now, she's

:58:57. > :00:00.going to show offers -- of her skating skills as well.

:00:01. > :00:05.A lovely routine, and what she has shown a searing Suchy, she is

:00:06. > :00:12.athletic, she is super cool under pressure. And she made history being

:00:13. > :00:16.the first woman to win the ladies championship. They have been so

:00:17. > :00:21.dominant in all the other disciplines but never won the

:00:22. > :00:25.ladies, and she has done that here. She has been celebrated here by the

:00:26. > :00:28.crowds. So many flowers and cuddly toys being thrown onto the ice rink

:00:29. > :00:38.to say well done, we're proud of you. CHEERING

:00:39. > :00:42.That was a lovely farewell to Suchy from the Olympic champion. --

:00:43. > :00:59.farewell to this sliding crew finished fifth up

:01:00. > :01:04.at the Sanki Sliding Center, Jacko, it is incredible that you are back

:01:05. > :01:10.and fit and healthy, but how do you reflect on that performance? Is it

:01:11. > :01:15.great, or is it oh, so close? For the team, it is a great performance,

:01:16. > :01:26.we gelled and worked well as a team, and we almost got a medal, but we're

:01:27. > :01:28.disappointed at all. We put in a good performance for Great Britain.

:01:29. > :01:34.Ruse, how much admiration do you have for this pilot and how well did

:01:35. > :01:37.the team work together? Absolutely, it is testament to his dedication

:01:38. > :01:45.and his rehab that we are all here today, and it is just incredible. We

:01:46. > :01:48.were or appearance to Jacko. What was it like, with the Russians in

:01:49. > :01:56.front, it must have been manic with the crowd? It was, it was very

:01:57. > :01:59.loud, I missed the queue to get into the start position because of the

:02:00. > :02:06.noise, but luckily, I was saved and I managed to start really well. That

:02:07. > :02:12.is what he does! And much of a pleasure has it been in getting out

:02:13. > :02:16.there and racing? By far, the best thing I have ever done in my life, I

:02:17. > :02:24.am so happy to be here with my crew and we have done so far, so many

:02:25. > :02:30.people helped us to get here. What happens now, do you go back and race

:02:31. > :02:33.again soon or do you have a break? Myself and John have the

:02:34. > :02:39.inter-services military competition that we will compete in, but then we

:02:40. > :02:43.will have a break. You're getting better and stronger and in the end,

:02:44. > :02:48.you were very close to a medal, that final run was right up there, do you

:02:49. > :02:54.think you can build on this for 2018? You thinking four years ahead

:02:55. > :02:59.or are you thinking, oh, God is no more? ! I am thinking year by year,

:03:00. > :03:05.one or two years ahead I would like to stay in the sport, but I need to

:03:06. > :03:09.pass on the rings to Bruce or one of the other guys here, so 2018, that

:03:10. > :03:16.would be for one of these guys, if I am still here in 2018, then bruises

:03:17. > :03:21.and is doing his job! -- then Bruce is not doing his job! You would like

:03:22. > :03:26.to see more young people come through? Yes, I would like to stay

:03:27. > :03:29.for a few years to bring more funding in and to help with the

:03:30. > :03:32.development, but at some point, I have got to pass it over and

:03:33. > :03:40.hopefully these guys will do the job. To rhetoric watching you, so

:03:41. > :03:44.exciting, congratulations, and specifically, Jacko, congratulations

:03:45. > :03:51.are coming back after a serious injury! -- to rhetoric watching you.

:03:52. > :03:52.Now, I wonder how the games have looked from afar, here is a review

:03:53. > :04:31.from Eddie Butler. Suchy, so Olympic Lee temperature

:04:32. > :04:51.control at its finest. As these first Winter games in

:04:52. > :05:01.Russia, being first wasn't what it seemed. To be the first champion is

:05:02. > :05:08.Olympic immortality. A first for Slopestyle, being the first to get

:05:09. > :05:15.on the rails. A fantastic finish to a fantastic day. A first for the

:05:16. > :05:19.women who do not twist and turn and cut the air with their skis as

:05:20. > :05:30.knives, but to float on turning boards as cushion. This will never,

:05:31. > :05:39.never be forgotten. And floating men also, so how much drama and grace of

:05:40. > :05:45.this. From Belarus, the highest mountain is just over 1100 feet

:05:46. > :05:52.high, 1100 feet on which to rehearse the aerial excellence. In the

:05:53. > :05:58.halfpipe, one American stood not just for excellence but for

:05:59. > :06:08.supremacy. He was his sport. But not here. Oh, no, Shaun White is human

:06:09. > :06:21.after all. It became a trend, the surprise winner. The husband and

:06:22. > :06:26.wife double medal combination. Can he steal the gold from Miller? Yes

:06:27. > :06:37.he can! Was a time when the Nordic nations frowned on alpine

:06:38. > :06:44.frivolity. In Nordic skiing, it is all about distance and then more

:06:45. > :06:49.distance. But the Norwegians still go the extra mile, but they seem to

:06:50. > :06:58.have embraced the emotions of one man. The are Lady, lovingly turning

:06:59. > :07:05.herself to rust. Mina Andreeva the Ireland lady.

:07:06. > :07:14.13 medals in total, eight of them gold, speed isn't everything, or

:07:15. > :07:24.winning gold. Vanessa Mae, hands that can fly and feet that slid

:07:25. > :07:29.wonderfully to last place. There are still a place with those that do not

:07:30. > :07:34.sit on top of the leaderboard. There is always appreciation for those who

:07:35. > :07:43.do not sit on the winner 's heels. But nothing beats the Olympian who

:07:44. > :07:54.will not be beaten. The tight finishers of the Olympics. These

:07:55. > :08:04.last gasp effort raised the temperature so high that all of the

:08:05. > :08:12.icy conditions girlie men -- the icy conditions nearly melted.

:08:13. > :08:23.Wonder. Four. Lots more later in the programme. The sunshine has left,

:08:24. > :08:27.all of the lights are coming on in the Olympic Park as we are building

:08:28. > :08:31.towards the closing ceremony which starts at 4pm. Eddie mentioned the

:08:32. > :08:36.young sportsmen, there were 12 deadly sports here, but it was a

:08:37. > :08:39.snowboarder with the age of experience that won Great Britain

:08:40. > :08:42.its first medal. Jenny Jones has been winning X Games titles for the

:08:43. > :08:47.past decade to little or no acclaim at home, but this time, she got a

:08:48. > :09:00.chance, a shot at an Olympic medal, and when she won it, the whole of

:09:01. > :09:04.the mountain celebrated with her. Jenny Jones! Jenny Jones has taken

:09:05. > :09:11.the first-ever Olympic medal per Great Britain on snow! Chemmy Alcott

:09:12. > :09:17.from Great Britain. Come on, Jenny! A good start from

:09:18. > :09:42.Zoe. Great Britain's Billy Morgan. Jamie

:09:43. > :10:34.Nicholls for Great Britain! Very nice! Emma Lonsdale. One of the

:10:35. > :10:44.best we have seen so far. There is the double! Beautiful landing!

:10:45. > :10:54.Here comes Dom Harington! Come on, Dom Harington! Solid!

:10:55. > :11:15.It is very, very heavy, and it is around my neck! And Jenny Jones is

:11:16. > :11:20.watching at home, and this is what you're missing! The Canadian Olympic

:11:21. > :11:24.fans dressed as Elvis! Letters reflect with grey and with Ed, Jenny

:11:25. > :11:31.Jones, her achievements over the years, it is something that may not

:11:32. > :11:37.been possible at the beginning of her career, because it did not

:11:38. > :11:47.exist. It is like a plot from a movie, she started out as a chalet

:11:48. > :11:50.girl doing a season in the Alps, and spent ten years later, she is a

:11:51. > :11:54.medallist at the X Games, and now she is an Olympic medallist. The

:11:55. > :11:57.team, they adore her, she is so gentle and calm, everyone
