:00:46. > :00:59.This is all about style. One big family. With a creative mentality.

:01:00. > :01:04.On a blank canvas, a big playground. Experimenting on jumps and on rails.

:01:05. > :01:10.Bouncing off, to find your own style. It is about expressing

:01:11. > :01:16.yourself. Don't get me wrong, it is competitive as well. You have too

:01:17. > :01:23.dead to go big. -- dare/ Good morning. Put your best foot forward,

:01:24. > :01:37.put your best run down. Stretch yourself to your limit. Make your

:01:38. > :01:50.mark and make it your own. This is only for the most creative athletes

:01:51. > :01:55.on snow. This is slopestyle. Good morning. It is a great date in

:01:56. > :02:00.Sochi. Eight gold medals to be one today. We know weekday mornings are

:02:01. > :02:04.tough when you are trying to get yourself out of the door. But, throw

:02:05. > :02:06.into the mix the Winter Olympics and, with it, the possibility of

:02:07. > :02:10.another British slopestyle medal today. We've just thrown in an extra

:02:11. > :02:15.degree of difficulty in your Tuesday commute!

:02:16. > :02:18.Jenny Jones made the medal breakthrough on a snowboard. Now,

:02:19. > :02:22.18-year-old Katie Summerhayes aims to follow, on skis. This morning,

:02:23. > :02:23.it's another opening bow for a brand new event. Ski slopestyle is this

:02:24. > :02:27.morning. One win, one loss yesterday for

:02:28. > :02:30.Britain's curling boys. Mind you, it was against the world champions.

:02:31. > :02:33.Today, it's match number three of nine, against Germany.

:02:34. > :02:36.Whilst we'll suss out the match between two of Eve Muirhead's chief

:02:37. > :02:38.rivals for gold, it's a repeat of the Vancouver final, between

:02:39. > :02:42.reigning champions Sweden and Canada.

:02:43. > :02:44.And, stand by, as the world's best known snowboarder drops in.

:02:45. > :02:47.America's effortlessly cool Shaun White goes for three in a row, in

:02:48. > :02:53.the giant halfpipe, today. So, here's how to plan your morning

:02:54. > :02:59.getaway. Coming up first: Shower quickly. Get

:03:00. > :03:02.children up. And tell them the women's ski slopestyle semi-finals

:03:03. > :03:05.are on. For once, they'll be out of their beds like a shot.

:03:06. > :03:07.Make breakfast. Forget eggs. We recommend instant porridge or

:03:08. > :03:11.cereal. It's quicker and, as you eat, catch up with two of the golden

:03:12. > :03:13.favourites in women's curling. Canada and Sweden, at 8.20am.

:03:14. > :03:17.When nine o'clock comes, don't panic, you're late anyway. So you

:03:18. > :03:20.might as well settle down, and savour what should be an equally

:03:21. > :03:21.dramatic debut for ski slopestyle, as we saw in the snowboarding

:03:22. > :03:28.version. Same course, but a whole new set of

:03:29. > :03:30.challenges with skis and poles. Katie Summerhayes could be in the

:03:31. > :03:33.running. By the time that ends at ten

:03:34. > :03:37.o'clock, face it, you've pulled a sickie. And it'll be time to enjoy a

:03:38. > :03:38.cuppa, and soak up the slow-burning tension, as Great Britain's men face

:03:39. > :03:55.the Germans in the Ice Cube. Let us go there right away. Indeed,

:03:56. > :04:04.there's curling on the go right now over in the Ice Cube Arena. As you

:04:05. > :04:17.can see, the Canadians are 6-3 up. We know that the snowboard

:04:18. > :04:19.slopestylers made such a big impression with everyone back home,

:04:20. > :04:23.especially when Jenny Jones nailed down bronze and a first ever British

:04:24. > :04:26.medal on snow. Now, those same rails and kickers are going to test the

:04:27. > :04:30.freestyle skiers. It's tough enough riding one piece of equipment, a

:04:31. > :04:33.snowboard. But, throw two skis and two poles into the equation, and

:04:34. > :04:36.that's a lot of moving parts to control! Getting off a chairlift or

:04:37. > :04:46.a poma will never seem difficult again, once you've seen this.

:04:47. > :04:52.Welcome to slopestyle if you've never seen it before, this is a

:04:53. > :04:57.skate park on a hill. Made up of six elements. The first three are rail

:04:58. > :05:02.sections or man-made objects. The last three are jumps. My

:05:03. > :05:07.co-commentator will talk you through the first three.

:05:08. > :05:12.The first element, a choice of five rails. Whilst they will be hitting

:05:13. > :05:18.it slow, it is technical. The second is about creativity, a choice of

:05:19. > :05:24.three lines all entwined. The third is the largest section. You have

:05:25. > :05:29.three choices, the box on the left hand side, the Russian doll in the

:05:30. > :05:34.middle. On the right-hand side, a curved wall. The key is speed.

:05:35. > :05:39.Awaiting you is the first of the three jumps.

:05:40. > :05:44.These are the jumps. Make no mistake, they are massive. Many are

:05:45. > :05:51.nervous when they see this. Two options, a smaller and larger line.

:05:52. > :05:56.In comparison to the rails, this is where the acrobatic element comes

:05:57. > :06:03.in. This puts them in perspective. These are kickers. They are really

:06:04. > :06:14.wide which means the athletes can carve across and generate rotation.

:06:15. > :06:20.This is the sixth and final element. Known as the money boot, which winds

:06:21. > :06:28.you gold. The trick people are looking for is the triple cork. We

:06:29. > :06:34.will seek spins, four times around, but at the same time riders will be

:06:35. > :06:39.upside down three times. If you can land a triple cork, you stand a good

:06:40. > :06:43.chance -- a good chance of standing on the podium. We are pretty

:06:44. > :06:49.excited. This will blow your mind.

:06:50. > :06:54.It's time to meet Britain's Olympic debutante in this brand new event.

:06:55. > :07:00.She's only 18, from Sheffield, and, like Jenny Jones, learned to love

:07:01. > :07:17.winter sport on a dry ski slope. She's Katie Summerhayes.

:07:18. > :07:25.Katie Summerhayes, British freestyle skiing. I was six when I first

:07:26. > :07:29.started skiing in Sheffield. I joined the ski club as something to

:07:30. > :07:40.do with my family. It was really fun. Freestyle skiing is jumps and

:07:41. > :07:46.rails together. Three jumps and three rails in one run. You don't

:07:47. > :07:54.have any rules. You don't know what will happen when someone goes down.

:07:55. > :07:59.People don't know about slopestyle skiing. That is what is great it

:08:00. > :08:04.being in the Olympics. People will want to watch it on TV and get

:08:05. > :08:11.involved. The travelling is the hardest. People say, you are from

:08:12. > :08:22.England, how can you ski! Just as in the snowboarding version

:08:23. > :08:25.of slopestyle over the weekend, the competitors have two qualifying runs

:08:26. > :08:28.in which to make the best possible impression with the judges. And book

:08:29. > :08:32.their place in the final at nine o'clock. The whole process began a

:08:33. > :08:34.short while ago, and here's the first run. Tim Warwood and Graham

:08:35. > :08:40.Bell are in charge. Welcome to the Rosa Khutor extreme

:08:41. > :08:42.part. We are here for the qualifying rounds of the women's ski slopestyle

:08:43. > :08:58.competition. Dominique Ohaco. Coming into the

:08:59. > :09:16.high box. Progressively wider at the end. From Santiago. The first girl

:09:17. > :09:24.to hit the larger side will stop 25 metres. A switch 540, takes off

:09:25. > :09:32.backwards, 1.5 spins, lands forwards. The first of the ladies

:09:33. > :09:37.tackling the big side. She went big on one of them, didn't she? We were

:09:38. > :09:43.talking before we came an hour, how the judges will pick this. A lot of

:09:44. > :09:51.the girls will be hitting the smaller side. We have seen Katie

:09:52. > :09:56.Summerhayes in practice with a switch 1080. Versus a 540 on the

:09:57. > :10:02.other side. Just how the judges will score that. It should warrant more

:10:03. > :10:07.points, but on a chip which is not as difficult, it is a hard one. If

:10:08. > :10:13.you spin more, on a small jump, does that outweigh going less on a big

:10:14. > :10:24.jump? We will have to try and work it out as we go along.

:10:25. > :10:32.She takes the lead now. 69.60. It might be OK for a top 12.

:10:33. > :10:41.Next up for Switzerland, Camilla Berra.

:10:42. > :10:51.She came off a little early from that rail. Her father was an Alpine

:10:52. > :10:52.ski racer. It was her brothers who got her into freestyle skiing.

:10:53. > :11:14.Switch. 540. Yes. A big 720. Dipping the

:11:15. > :11:26.shoulder. Double front flip! Oh, yes! That was awesome! The double

:11:27. > :11:31.cannonball. That woke us up. Yes, it certainly did. What a great way to

:11:32. > :11:36.entertain the crowd this early in the morning. It woke everyone up in

:11:37. > :11:44.the stands. Coming off that rail early. As we saw with the snowboard,

:11:45. > :11:51.mistakes aren't going to be taken off the tricks. It penalises the

:11:52. > :11:55.overall impression. Talking about gold medals in the Olympics, yes,

:11:56. > :12:07.the double front flip, that was huge. She has two open up there.

:12:08. > :12:16.That was big. That must have been a 40 metre flight. The 19-year-old

:12:17. > :12:32.from Switzerland takes the lead in this qualifying round. Devin Logan.

:12:33. > :12:41.20 years of edge. She came from an Alpine ski racing background. A

:12:42. > :12:45.confident skier. Fifth in the halfpipe, and fifth in the

:12:46. > :12:51.slopestyle in the World Championships a couple of seasons

:12:52. > :12:55.ago. She struggled with injury. Nice style, see the way she held that

:12:56. > :13:06.when she came off the box, held it at 90 and dropped it in. Really in

:13:07. > :13:13.control. 540, coming in backwards. Did she miss the grab, switch five?

:13:14. > :13:30.And a 540, I think it was. Solid, strong skier. It looked like

:13:31. > :13:38.she had a bit of nerves at the top. She seemed to shake it off.

:13:39. > :13:46.She held that at 90. Showing the judges she is in a lot of control.

:13:47. > :13:54.You can already start to see a couple of holes developing, it is

:13:55. > :13:58.startling -- starting to soften up. It froze last night but not all the

:13:59. > :14:04.way down. There was a slight drizzle of rain last night in the men's

:14:05. > :14:08.moguls. It has gone very warm over the last couple of days. Hopefully,

:14:09. > :14:17.the forecast is for cooler weather coming back in. 540 grab. Grabbing,

:14:18. > :14:23.your hand on the toe, on the opposite ski. Devon Logan takes

:14:24. > :14:34.first place. She has come through the big side. She has not had

:14:35. > :14:39.anything over a couple of 540s. But the judges rewarded the bravado of

:14:40. > :14:44.those big jumps. The Americans are looking good. And the Canadians are

:14:45. > :14:49.mounting their challenge now with Dara Howell. A definite medal

:14:50. > :14:57.contender in this competition. 19 years old. From Ontario in Canada.

:14:58. > :15:02.Second in the ski slopestyle World Championships last year. She has

:15:03. > :15:11.some stitches in her nose but it wasn't from the slopestyle course.

:15:12. > :15:14.She woke up, and a lampshade came crashing down on her face. She is

:15:15. > :15:27.all right now. A couple of stitches in her nose.

:15:28. > :15:38.Switch 720, very nice. The landing is starting to get a little bit

:15:39. > :15:45.bumpy. That was beautiful. She is happy with that. I think we have

:15:46. > :15:53.just seen our new leader. I am not as keen on the rails. She has a

:15:54. > :16:06.smile on her face. She went off slightly early. She misses the

:16:07. > :16:18.grab. I will retract my statement! I do not think it is first place. The

:16:19. > :16:33.truck driver grabbed his where you used -- grab is where you use both

:16:34. > :17:03.hands, we saw it in the men's moguls last night. First! Brilliant. Solid

:17:04. > :17:13.on the relevant. It is pretty much straight. I thought she was going to

:17:14. > :17:35.use a little bit of side there. Backflip. 720 with a tail grab. Very

:17:36. > :17:49.nice. 20 years old. Skiing out of Pemberton. The British Columbia and

:17:50. > :18:04.will hopefully be in contention. That is top 12 for me. Definitely.

:18:05. > :18:30.Cable calm, getting their money's worth. They have helicopter cams as

:18:31. > :18:44.well. Third place. Next is Silvia Bertagna from Italy. A possible

:18:45. > :18:53.contender. 29 years old. Very nice, switching it up, spinning round,

:18:54. > :19:09.little technical intricacies on the rails are what the judges are

:19:10. > :19:22.looking for. Nice. A natural 360 two the bottom jump, 720, she holds on.

:19:23. > :19:45.Good variation. Not much distance. Technically you get the variation,

:19:46. > :20:16.with the switch. This is the small side. These are not small jumps,

:20:17. > :20:32.they are 25 m. Fifth place. Katie Summerhayes, representing Team GB.

:20:33. > :20:48.450 out of the rail. She is arguably one of the best rail riders out of

:20:49. > :20:59.the ladies. 540 off the butter box. Switch five, nice. Trying to get as

:21:00. > :21:16.much speed as she can. Nice 720. Good clean run so far. 540 tail

:21:17. > :21:19.grab. Yes! It looks clean. It looked to me like that was good enough to

:21:20. > :21:31.get into the top 12 to get through to the final later today. 450 out of

:21:32. > :21:49.the down rail, it is about spinning on and spinning off these rails. She

:21:50. > :21:58.got the grabs. That was the Japan. 720. She missed the tail grab. Let

:21:59. > :22:12.us hope the judges did not see that. I think we are looking at a

:22:13. > :22:21.score in the mid-70s. There is Jenny Jones, bronze medallist. Katie

:22:22. > :22:43.Summerhayes could be a dark horse. She did well at the last World Cup.

:22:44. > :23:00.Second place! , come on. Not bad on the rails. Having said that...

:23:01. > :23:21.Backflip. She had to open up a little bit early for the line. There

:23:22. > :23:35.is the zero. How did she manage to land that? Taking off backwards and

:23:36. > :23:56.landing backwards, that was huge. We are splitting hairs, but this was

:23:57. > :24:15.nice. Backflip. Japan. Here is the zero. She should have landed at that

:24:16. > :24:26.point. She is praying. The Canadians are doing very well. Second place.

:24:27. > :24:35.That pushes Katie Summerhayes down. Kaya Turski is the odds-on

:24:36. > :24:46.favourite. She lives in California. She is from Montreal. That was not

:24:47. > :25:01.too clever. She came into the switch to the up rail. She is down. The

:25:02. > :25:14.favourite for gold taking a hard slam. She was leaning backwards. It

:25:15. > :25:27.is so slippy. Her legs went from under her. She is back up. Perhaps

:25:28. > :25:32.she hurt her pride more than anything else. She came down on the

:25:33. > :25:40.right side, the right elbow, the right shoulder. If you can get

:25:41. > :25:43.herself back to the top, the physios have a serious amount of work to do

:25:44. > :26:03.in the next half hour before she can ski again. That was a huge upset.

:26:04. > :26:11.Katie Summerhayes looking comfortable in third place.

:26:12. > :26:24.Virtually assured of a final at 9am. If use key, -- you ski, you will

:26:25. > :26:31.understand how difficult it is going backwards. It is a fascinating

:26:32. > :26:38.event. We want to introduce you to Britain's mail represents the Venice

:26:39. > :26:44.event, -- representative in this event, James Woods. That will be

:26:45. > :26:53.taking place on Thursday. There was a statement saying that Woodsy had a

:26:54. > :26:58.bad fall in training and the physios have been working very hard and he

:26:59. > :27:02.undertook some training yesterday and the physio work is ongoing, so

:27:03. > :27:25.fingers crossed he can compete on Thursday. It is time to meet him.

:27:26. > :27:45.The flight from London Heathrow is arriving. Find them. I made you a

:27:46. > :28:07.sign. I'll argue? -- how are you? Welcome to such -- Sochi. There is

:28:08. > :28:14.the flame. Once you have caught a fish, it has been fished. This is

:28:15. > :28:20.the centre of the village, but we are going up to the mountains. First

:28:21. > :28:28.Olympics. Yes, I cannot believe I am here. I went and saw London and it

:28:29. > :28:35.was great to feel part of it. Uber Team GB, you are part of it. Do you

:28:36. > :28:46.feel pressure to put your spot on the map or do you think the sport

:28:47. > :28:51.will do it by itself? I think the sport can speak for itself, but I

:28:52. > :29:06.think everyone will mash it. I am excited to go and ski. It has been a

:29:07. > :29:18.few days. Is this it? I do not know what the Russian is for we have

:29:19. > :29:41.arrived, but we have arrived. Get the team issue caught on. I will

:29:42. > :29:55.show you where you are living. Thank you for that. Our Russian helper has

:29:56. > :30:10.told us we are in a broken down gondola. 140m to the river. How

:30:11. > :30:14.important is the result you? Huge. The Olympics is the top thing in

:30:15. > :30:18.sport and I know I am capable and I feel really good about what I do, I

:30:19. > :30:34.am loving it. You can probably see the union

:30:35. > :30:42.flags, home. That is it! That is wicked.

:30:43. > :30:52.I feel like sneaking a cheeky look. Can you get into the village? He is

:30:53. > :30:58.an athlete. We'll go and have a look. That was rather presumptuous

:30:59. > :31:04.of that lady! Let us get you home, come on! There is, the Union flag.

:31:05. > :31:10.How does it feel to be representing Team GB? It is huge. It is big deal

:31:11. > :31:17.to me. I am very patriotic in general. What gives us that

:31:18. > :31:24.impression? We love that. Good luck. Put it there, big man. Listen, I'm

:31:25. > :31:32.going to find my way home. You find where you are sleeping. CU. I've

:31:33. > :31:41.known him since I was 12, it is pretty nuts. A lovely man, very

:31:42. > :31:42.talented. How good of him to do that straight from the playing after

:31:43. > :31:47.travelling. Last year, Woodsy became Britain's

:31:48. > :31:50.first freestyle skiing World Championship medallist for 20 years.

:31:51. > :31:56.And he's also claimed the overall World Cup title in slopestyle. He is

:31:57. > :31:59.a genuine contender when the men's event gets underway early in your

:32:00. > :32:01.morning. First qualifying run is at 6.15am on Thursday, here on BBC Two.

:32:02. > :32:14.And the final gets going at 9.30. It is all about the women. Katie

:32:15. > :32:17.Summerhayes did it very good first run, looking good for the final. We

:32:18. > :32:26.have one more qualifying run. Lying in 12th, she has work to do.

:32:27. > :32:46.She is on the cusp. Nice and solid. A big tube, a big

:32:47. > :32:56.rail. 180 on, 540 off. I am not sure if she will be penalised. 360. Into

:32:57. > :33:13.a big 720. She is already claiming it! She is

:33:14. > :33:36.happy with that. A much better run. It is very tight.

:33:37. > :33:44.We appear to have a problem, but Katie Summerhayes in great shape.

:33:45. > :33:49.Only 18. We will be back to that second run as soon as we can. While

:33:50. > :33:54.we wait, let me tell you more about Shaun White.

:33:55. > :33:57.One of the big global draws of these Olympic Games is snowboarding giant

:33:58. > :34:00.Shaun White. Once known as the Flying Tomato because of his

:34:01. > :34:14.flowing, red, curly locks, but those have gone. He turned up as a

:34:15. > :34:18.teenager in Turin, for the halfpipe, and won it. The halfpipe gets going

:34:19. > :34:31.again today. There is all of snowboarding, and

:34:32. > :34:36.then there is Shaun White snowboarding.

:34:37. > :34:45.Love him or hate him, he is a machine.

:34:46. > :34:53.Shaun White is just Shaun White. I have been doing this for a long

:34:54. > :34:57.time, it is very funny to say that. Even the guys around my edge, I

:34:58. > :35:06.started competing maybe ten years before them. I was a pro at 13. At

:35:07. > :35:11.that point, I'd already had sponsors since I was seven. Everybody was in

:35:12. > :35:16.their mid-20s at that point, and I was, I have to be better than these

:35:17. > :35:20.guys. Right off the bat, I was setting the bar pretty high, and had

:35:21. > :35:26.to be better than these professional guys, fully grown men competing

:35:27. > :35:35.against me. I had to be better, to learn their chicks and one up it. --

:35:36. > :35:42.tricks. Do you feel your life is working in

:35:43. > :35:46.the rhythm of Olympic cycles. After Vancouver, you are building towards

:35:47. > :35:51.2014? It is hard to describe. I truly

:35:52. > :35:54.dislike it. And I love it at the same time. It is one of those

:35:55. > :36:00.things, you don't realise how great it was until it is over. It gives

:36:01. > :36:04.everything purpose. Today, I woke up, and I chose a healthy breakfast

:36:05. > :36:10.rather than this because of the Olympics. I figured, oh, I am going

:36:11. > :36:21.to have an ice bath so my muscles will be great for the next day,

:36:22. > :36:23.because of the Olympics. Everything has a bigger goal. After my first

:36:24. > :36:32.Olympics, I didn't know what to do with myself. Literally, while, I did

:36:33. > :36:36.it. All right! What do you do? Being truthful, I got super depressed, I

:36:37. > :36:43.didn't know what to do. The next season, I lost my next event, I got

:36:44. > :36:49.second which was a loss. After the season I had. I didn't know how to

:36:50. > :36:54.make myself feel the same that I had at the Olympics. It is amazing,

:36:55. > :37:04.but, yes, I like it that it gives me a lot of purpose. It gives me things

:37:05. > :37:12.to look forward to. Shaun White unveils the Tomahawk, that is mind

:37:13. > :37:16.blowing! His second gold medal. He is the ultimate competitor and he

:37:17. > :37:21.has made it OK to be competitive in snowboarding. Ever since he

:37:22. > :37:26.arrived, he has been unashamedly out to win. That attitude has split the

:37:27. > :37:31.world of snowboarding. In a sport which has antiestablishment roots,

:37:32. > :37:36.winning at all costs doesn't appeal to everyone. It is bizarre to me, it

:37:37. > :37:42.is a funny sport because it is built around everyone being friends. We

:37:43. > :37:47.are, we like one another. But if you are entering a competition, you want

:37:48. > :37:55.to win. If you wanted to go right with your friends... You get to the

:37:56. > :38:01.bottom, how was your run? I'm just having a great time with my

:38:02. > :38:09.friends. I swear I said the same thing. It is so easy to say that.

:38:10. > :38:18.For me, I started to wear my emotions on my sleeve. I started to

:38:19. > :38:21.speak the truth. I think most riders, I want to say they are

:38:22. > :38:29.saying the same. They are starting to realise it is OK to want to win

:38:30. > :38:34.and do that. You are such a competitor. When that they does

:38:35. > :38:40.come, whether it is two years or 12 years, you have got to accept that

:38:41. > :38:48.losing is OK. Can you, will you be able to? I wish I could say... I

:38:49. > :38:53.could truthfully say it would be OK. The only time I am OK with

:38:54. > :38:57.losing is if I literally put everything on the line. If I went

:38:58. > :39:02.there and did the best one I could, then I could walk away content. If

:39:03. > :39:06.someone beats it, they deserve to win. Those are usually the best

:39:07. > :39:11.moments in my career. Because what happens after that, it is an amazing

:39:12. > :39:23.thing. I wish it could happen all the time. It would be ridiculous. If

:39:24. > :39:26.I could just harness that. You have been so successful. Have

:39:27. > :39:32.you ever felt like it is lonely up at the top?

:39:33. > :39:38.Yes, within the sport of snowboarding, for sure. It has been

:39:39. > :39:44.a somewhat lonely scenario. But I never lived in the mountains, I

:39:45. > :39:49.always left, went home, and I hang around with my friends and family. I

:39:50. > :39:53.describe myself as very multitasking. I always doing

:39:54. > :39:58.something different. My biggest passion right now is playing music.

:39:59. > :40:04.It is so much fun to do. There is competition. The band I play in for

:40:05. > :40:10.show. I remember feeling pretty nervous, but more excited nervous.

:40:11. > :40:16.We stepped out on stage. Normally it is me alone on the halfpipe. I

:40:17. > :40:23.realised, all these guys are with me, this is great. I wasn't carrying

:40:24. > :40:31.the whole group on my back, everyone was doing their part. I like that.

:40:32. > :40:36.That has been, that has been an interesting scenario.

:40:37. > :40:40.Fascinating to see Shaun White admitting finally it is not just

:40:41. > :40:46.about lifestyle and snowboarding, cruising around with your friends

:40:47. > :40:52.and having a good time. These guys are finely tuned athletes and

:40:53. > :40:58.competitive animals. Shaun White will try at 5:30pm, to become the

:40:59. > :41:04.first American male athlete ever to win the same event three times in a

:41:05. > :41:09.row at the Winter Games. He is going in the second heat at 12 noon.

:41:10. > :41:16.Although, if White doesn't get through, it'll be a bigger story

:41:17. > :41:24.than if he wins the thing again! I think we have sold the technical

:41:25. > :41:32.gremlins. The second run of the women's ski slopestyle.

:41:33. > :41:37.Evelin Bhend, she is lying in 12th position. She has work to do. She is

:41:38. > :41:53.on the cusp. Nice and solid through the flat

:41:54. > :41:59.down. What a big tube. 181, 540 of. It is actually a rail element so I'm

:42:00. > :42:05.not sure if she will be penalised. 360.

:42:06. > :42:16.Into a big 720. And a misty seven to finish things, she is already

:42:17. > :42:33.claiming it. A much better run. It is very, very tight for this 12th

:42:34. > :42:40.spot. I think that is going to move higher up a fraction. Perse School

:42:41. > :42:43.for the first round was 67.20. It is the intricacies, making sure that

:42:44. > :42:51.you are grabbing your spins properly. Let us be honest. They

:42:52. > :42:57.weren't grabbed properly. Let us see if she has missed the grab there.

:42:58. > :43:02.She has done a very clever thing, she has claimed it instantly like

:43:03. > :43:08.that, to give the impression to the judges she did really well. Will she

:43:09. > :43:14.improve? Will she have some kind of breathing space?

:43:15. > :43:37.A lot of it will be depending on whether Kaya Turski can go again.

:43:38. > :43:42.I hope it was just damaged pride. The weight of expectation, she

:43:43. > :43:51.promptly cannot believe she has just done that.

:43:52. > :43:56.Nothing hurts more than a torn ego. I have had if you torn muscles in my

:43:57. > :44:05.time. Me and you have very fragile egos

:44:06. > :44:19.that need constant stroking. Sixth place. Safe. She does the fist

:44:20. > :44:25.pump of I am through! Her team is right in there. The

:44:26. > :44:28.Swiss team. They are high-fiving each other, congratulating each

:44:29. > :44:37.other. Devon Logan. Rocking to music. I

:44:38. > :44:39.think we should get to listen to the music they are listening to.

:44:40. > :44:55.Devon Logan, lying in fourth place. A switch on the up rail. A little

:44:56. > :45:04.bit early there. Might not see an improvement here. A switch on.

:45:05. > :45:13.Holding that. Showing a lot of control. A big 540. The skis were

:45:14. > :45:18.snapping out. The landings aren't very smooth at all. No, very bumpy.

:45:19. > :45:38.It is very soft. 540 tail grab. Devin Logan probably not going to

:45:39. > :46:04.improve on her first score. I think her first run was cleaner. Lifting

:46:05. > :46:20.one ski. Japan grab. That was the tail grab, nice style putting it

:46:21. > :46:27.down. She improved by one, but she is still in fourth. She is happy. It

:46:28. > :46:36.is all about getting into the top 12 at this age. To get an Olympic

:46:37. > :46:44.medal, you want to be qualifying well. Scraping through in 12th place

:46:45. > :46:55.is not the ideal way of approaching the competition. Dara Howell from

:46:56. > :47:13.Canada, 19. She is leading after the first run. She's got 88 -- she

:47:14. > :47:22.scored 88. Switch seven, nice and solid. Switch five, sorry switch

:47:23. > :47:36.seven, that should have been a Switch five. She is OK. She is in

:47:37. > :47:42.first place. She should have had a Switch 540 and that would have set

:47:43. > :47:56.her up going forward and she over cooked it and she know that. -- she

:47:57. > :48:11.knew that. She thought she had gone too big so she put the 180 in. You

:48:12. > :48:43.can see the cut on her nose where the lampshade fail.

:48:44. > :49:13.Backflip. Who does not love a backflip? She needs this. Nice.

:49:14. > :49:22.Seven tail grab. That should be good enough to get through into the top

:49:23. > :49:39.12. She was last after crashing on her first run. Nice and solid.

:49:40. > :49:51.Backflip. A lot of people love the backflip, however it is not the

:49:52. > :49:55.highest scoring trick you can do. A lot of iron cross backflips in the

:49:56. > :50:01.moguls last night.
