:00:40. > :00:52.Welcome back. That is if you were watching on BBC Two. If you are new

:00:53. > :01:02.to us, good afternoon. It is a bit overcast here. There is nothing dull

:01:03. > :01:06.about what is happening in the Ice Cube curling centre. It is a crucial

:01:07. > :01:12.match for the British team who had he makes day yesterday, winning

:01:13. > :01:25.against Russia and losing against Sweden.

:01:26. > :01:34.It has improved since you are with us a few minutes ago. We were 5-3

:01:35. > :01:41.down, but a mistake from the man who has been playing so well for Germany

:01:42. > :01:50.gave David Murdoch the opportunity to take the two and square the match

:01:51. > :02:03.at 5-5. That is a real bonus for the British team. Felix Schulze had been

:02:04. > :02:23.playing well up until that point. Dave Murdoch played a blinder. That

:02:24. > :02:38.gave him the opportunity to take his two and tie the game. It is amazing,

:02:39. > :02:43.it can be an odd shot. That will have raised their shoulders.

:02:44. > :02:52.Sometimes it takes one little change in the end and the control will flip

:02:53. > :03:00.to the other side. This has been a tight match and it is a match in

:03:01. > :03:13.which Germany have the last stone advantage. Germany shooting 79%,

:03:14. > :03:18.Britain 78%. The boys have been putting a lot of pressure on the

:03:19. > :03:22.German boys. They were coming up with the answers time and again and

:03:23. > :03:29.that is the first mistake we have seen from Germany. I do not expect

:03:30. > :03:34.it will be happening all the time because they are still playing very

:03:35. > :03:45.well. It will go right down to the wire. If you were at the German

:03:46. > :03:53.skip, to wrestle momentum, would you think about carrying through until

:03:54. > :03:57.the next day and, or do you take advantage and hope you do well in

:03:58. > :04:05.the next two ends? The German team have the hammer in this end, but

:04:06. > :04:12.unfortunately we have two, unfortunately for them, we have two

:04:13. > :04:20.stones in here and if it continues like this even will have done a good

:04:21. > :04:29.end -- David Murdoch. F they are not going to score two or more, they

:04:30. > :04:41.would preferred to carry the end over. I have seen the momentum

:04:42. > :04:53.change. He looks quite perplexed. Their shots were coming off every

:04:54. > :05:04.time earlier in the match. That has balanced out. It can be a game of

:05:05. > :05:13.patience. These guys, albeit they were trying hard, they have waited

:05:14. > :05:19.patiently and not change their game plan. In the second half of the game

:05:20. > :05:32.we have seen a couple of twos being scored. Another good shot from Greg

:05:33. > :05:35.Drummond. We have to make sure we keep enough distance between them to

:05:36. > :05:39.stop Germany playing a double as that would be to their advantage and

:05:40. > :05:50.they would try to run the end out and not score and take the hammer

:05:51. > :06:00.over to the next end. We talk about the hammer which means having the

:06:01. > :06:10.last stone. It is a great atmosphere as Russia are playing next to the

:06:11. > :06:26.British match and are currently down 7-5 to Norway. China leading USA by

:06:27. > :06:35.three. Sweden leading Canada by two. Just needs Tuesday in here. If there

:06:36. > :06:54.is anybody out there who has any questions for us, send them in to

:06:55. > :07:03.the BBC. Do not make men -- mine hard. Away from the ice he is a very

:07:04. > :07:12.successful businessman who decided he wanted to resurrect his Olympic

:07:13. > :07:26.dream and he has been away from the scored for -- the spot for 15 years.

:07:27. > :07:35.Playing third. Felix Schulze until the previous end had been doing very

:07:36. > :07:57.well. That is David Murdoch's mum and dad. Not paying attention! That

:07:58. > :08:03.is quiet confidence. You might think they are cheering for David Murdoch,

:08:04. > :08:06.they are not. The atmosphere in here has been pretty good, they have been

:08:07. > :08:37.respectful of the other matches. I think Germany are happy to come

:08:38. > :08:54.down and catch the stone and roll across to the other side. It was

:08:55. > :09:01.such a poor shot that he played at the end of the previous end and that

:09:02. > :09:04.is going to nag at him. It is a shame because it is one shot out of

:09:05. > :09:22.many so far. He is asking for a freeze. A freeze

:09:23. > :09:32.at this stage in the game is not a bad call, he has last stone, it is

:09:33. > :09:40.almost a get out of jail free card. He can freeze down to the red on the

:09:41. > :09:44.left-hand side. He has to freeze with no space between them or David

:09:45. > :09:50.Murdoch will be able to spend both of them out, but it is worth a try

:09:51. > :10:00.because he has last stone to pull out of anything that gets

:10:01. > :10:09.difficult. He has asked him to move the brush out another couple of

:10:10. > :10:18.inches. He looks nervous having looked confident earlier. Turning

:10:19. > :10:34.the curling stone clockwise. It should rotate. Across to the right.

:10:35. > :10:46.This needs to, round Arlott. -- come round. They are saying OK, but it is

:10:47. > :10:53.not really. He is saying he thought the line was right but I am sitting

:10:54. > :11:04.behind it. I think he was just too heavy. If he had played later, the

:11:05. > :11:15.boys could maybe have swept it in. This will be an easy chip out for

:11:16. > :11:19.David Murdoch. If they can force the one, this will be a result

:11:20. > :11:30.considering the position they were in.

:11:31. > :11:45.I think they are going to see Felix play a similar shot. His last couple

:11:46. > :11:53.of shots have been particularly poor. There are two red stones which

:11:54. > :12:02.should act as backing. The way things are going for him, he would

:12:03. > :12:07.slide right between those two. Sometimes it can be the biggest

:12:08. > :12:15.space in the world. He has to remember how he was playing

:12:16. > :12:26.earlier. His mannerisms, you can see him breathing. They have taken more

:12:27. > :12:38.eyes because he wants to come into the blue circles in the centre of

:12:39. > :12:46.the house. This looks as if it is going to come nicely. I think he was

:12:47. > :12:59.a little nervous, but he takes the one and that puts Germany back in

:13:00. > :13:13.the lead. Germany with two ends to go lead by 6-5. Blank, we heard.

:13:14. > :13:23.David Murdoch will be happy to blank this end and take the hammer going

:13:24. > :13:27.down the 10th. I think they have done well to get themselves into

:13:28. > :13:35.this position because modelling them was definitely with Germany

:13:36. > :13:42.earlier. -- momentum. Got a bonus two in the seventh end and now a

:13:43. > :13:49.chance to maintain that sort of control, even though they are one

:13:50. > :13:58.down, it is not a bad decision. It is easier said than done to say, get

:13:59. > :14:10.your two in the 10th. I think Felix Schulze is the man they will want to

:14:11. > :14:11.put pressure on. Sven Goldemann getting things underway for

:14:12. > :14:34.Germany. The German lead playing a shot that

:14:35. > :14:40.sits just outside of the house which is a good shot for the lead to use

:14:41. > :14:50.as protection as the game goes on. Sitting in what we call the Freegard

:14:51. > :14:53.zone, the opposition are not allowed to remove the stones out of play

:14:54. > :15:06.until after the first two players have played, the lead on either

:15:07. > :15:12.team. Michael Goodfellow did not quite get out to the stick to get

:15:13. > :15:28.the right line to comment behind that and he had tapped it full.

:15:29. > :15:39.Sven being asked to play a takeout. He will still want to sit high of

:15:40. > :15:45.the rings. Once again, that is out of the house, and David cannot

:15:46. > :15:47.remove these stones from play. He will ask Michael Goodfellow to try

:15:48. > :16:05.to come round, in behind them. If Germany, they know that Britain,

:16:06. > :16:09.I am sure with a third, they wanted to blank the end. What is the

:16:10. > :16:17.strategy for the team, is there anything you can do to try to negate

:16:18. > :16:21.that? Germany will try to get as many stones upfront and into the

:16:22. > :16:29.centre of the house. To blank the end, Great Britain will have to play

:16:30. > :16:31.some big doubles and some raised takeouts. It isn't always as easy as

:16:32. > :16:52.they say. Christopher Bartsch, he started the

:16:53. > :16:58.game while. Similarly, the last couple of friends, not quite as

:16:59. > :17:05.accurate. This should be fairly straightforward. -- the last couple

:17:06. > :17:27.of ends. David, now, going to ask to clear

:17:28. > :17:33.these two German stones at the front of the house, the ones that were not

:17:34. > :17:44.allowed to be hit out of play until after the second player comes into

:17:45. > :17:53.play. Scott Andrews can hopefully lift both these stones. A nice shot.

:17:54. > :18:11.Rolling to the top of the house. A good shot.

:18:12. > :18:18.I have seen instances, Steve, where a team may have a shot at the house

:18:19. > :18:33.and the potential to draw another one in, and they would should -- hit

:18:34. > :18:37.someone out. -- hit that one out. That is when tactics come into play.

:18:38. > :18:46.You must have been reading my mind, I was going to ask you to explain

:18:47. > :18:52.that. As you say, then you are on the flip side of the coin, because

:18:53. > :19:07.you go into last end but given the hammer back. These teams are so

:19:08. > :19:12.good. It is like the end of a 1500m, don't hit the front too early, time

:19:13. > :19:26.your run right. It is about patients. -- patience. I haven't

:19:27. > :19:28.seen too many European teams doing that, but a lot of Canadian teams

:19:29. > :19:42.would call that shot. They are having to work that hard.

:19:43. > :20:04.I'm not sure it has enough legs. Just clipped the front stone but it

:20:05. > :20:15.has finished in not too bad a position. Sven Goldemann is 44, he

:20:16. > :20:22.will not be thanking them for making him sweep that hard. And they had to

:20:23. > :20:31.leave it for the momentum, to come in.

:20:32. > :20:42.Greg Drummond, being asked to do a similar shot. Again, our guys are

:20:43. > :20:49.having to dig in really hard. This is pulling all the time.

:20:50. > :20:57.It caught the top, that is really disappointing. These two shots are

:20:58. > :21:01.sitting pretty level but that gives the Germans an opportunity to catch

:21:02. > :21:08.the inside of one of the Reds, and roll across.

:21:09. > :21:14.Watching that, the British stone almost seemed to come in even more

:21:15. > :21:27.than the German one had done previously. It is up to how fast the

:21:28. > :21:33.player releases the stones at the other end.

:21:34. > :21:39.The skip here, John Jahr, trying to take these two at. To sit behind the

:21:40. > :21:46.front stone. Trying hard to hold the shot.

:21:47. > :21:58.It tapped that red. I have to say, I don't think we are going to be

:21:59. > :22:05.blanking this end now. They have done well. If you know the

:22:06. > :22:17.opposition, what they are trying to do. It is OK having a guy -- a game

:22:18. > :22:25.plan, but they have played their shots. Strategy or the tactics of

:22:26. > :22:32.the game, unless you are executing the shots to that strategy you are

:22:33. > :22:39.playing, it sometimes doesn't always work. Trying to move these rocks

:22:40. > :22:46.around, it only takes one. That was unfortunate. They would have liked

:22:47. > :22:52.to shift another of those yellow stones in there. He knows, he is

:22:53. > :23:07.annoyed with himself. What they definitely do not want is

:23:08. > :23:15.Germany getting a steel here. -- steal. Greg Drummond saying the good

:23:16. > :23:23.thing is the German team are coming in. They are going to try and

:23:24. > :23:31.actually remove this red stone. Remove it out of the house. Maybe

:23:32. > :23:36.not quite like that. But that gives the opportunity of Great Britain,

:23:37. > :23:40.because the stones are all in the house, to throw some heavy granite

:23:41. > :23:46.at it and removed two or three shots. You could potentially call

:23:47. > :23:51.their bluff and put another close guard. It feels like they may be

:23:52. > :23:59.playing into our boys's hands at the minute.

:24:00. > :24:07.A couple of critical shots coming up for both teams. He did well there

:24:08. > :24:14.again. David Murdoch has some difficult choices to make now.

:24:15. > :24:29.It is not going to be easy to move them more the round. Not at all.

:24:30. > :24:38.The question is, can he get them all going? I was going to say, he will

:24:39. > :24:52.have to come in with a lot of weight. He has two more stones.

:24:53. > :25:02.I think, the way the angles are, one of them is going to stay, or jam.

:25:03. > :25:11.We really would have to be throwing some granite at that. As Greg said

:25:12. > :25:22.that, whatever the result is, they will maybe have two open up this

:25:23. > :25:27.forfeit -- four foot now. Move the top two, that has to be the

:25:28. > :25:32.minimum. They are causing the bother. The boys were looking at

:25:33. > :25:37.trying to lift all three. They would have to hit the right-hand side of

:25:38. > :25:43.the top stone. Then you will roll out the house and have no

:25:44. > :25:47.advantage. They have made the decision to hit, hopefully, the

:25:48. > :25:54.stone will sit just where the brush is sitting at the top of the house,

:25:55. > :26:00.and remove the top two. Really coming down to the wire. Of

:26:01. > :26:04.course, every match is important. You set your target at the beginning

:26:05. > :26:08.of the week. To get into the top four. This is a match that Great

:26:09. > :26:14.Britain desperately wants to win. They are in with a chance. Murdoch

:26:15. > :26:16.with his penultimate stone. Needing to move those German stones outcome

:26:17. > :26:32.he did well there. That is a great result for him. And

:26:33. > :26:33.he has left the shooter at the top of the house which was even more

:26:34. > :26:47.important. It would have been really nice if

:26:48. > :26:58.that stone near the T9 had gone out. Just hanging on. -- stone near

:26:59. > :27:05.the T-line. It depends what Schulze plays here.

:27:06. > :27:08.He will try to run this red back onto the back bread. And lift the

:27:09. > :27:25.two shots -- on to the back red. He will want to lie in the house as

:27:26. > :27:40.well. Actually... Unlucky, there. He still

:27:41. > :27:53.leaves himself lying to shots, and he is going to make us have 2... --

:27:54. > :28:01.have to... Forced them to take the one here. We were hoping either to

:28:02. > :28:07.score a two, or blank the end. Now we have been forced to a one. If

:28:08. > :28:14.Dave makes this without the hammer...

:28:15. > :28:22.This end, not quite turning out as intended. That is as much down to

:28:23. > :28:27.good play from Germany as anything else. So, Dave Murdoch, the British

:28:28. > :28:29.skip, doing what he has been doing very well yesterday and today,

:28:30. > :28:40.playing a nice draw. Doing just enough to take the one

:28:41. > :28:44.shot. That is really unfortunate for us. Dave played a cracker of a shot,

:28:45. > :28:52.only to have it followed up by Felix who once again played another good

:28:53. > :29:00.shot, forcing us to take a one. So, it is all tied after nine ends.

:29:01. > :29:05.Germany, crucially, have the hammer going into the 10th and final end.

:29:06. > :29:10.The British quartet are really up against it here. But, as we have

:29:11. > :29:14.just seen, they are playing well. They might have a chance.

:29:15. > :29:21.These boys know what they have to do. Leave a lot of short stones in

:29:22. > :29:26.play, make it difficult for the German team to remove them. Then

:29:27. > :29:30.bring some round behind it and steal the end. Not the easiest thing to do

:29:31. > :29:37.but they have practised this time and again. They just have to see if

:29:38. > :29:45.it is going to come off in this end.

:29:46. > :29:49.There the school. The percentages, 80% for both teams, shooting exactly

:29:50. > :29:56.the same. It has been a tight match all the way through. A little error

:29:57. > :30:04.on each side. Occasionally letting the opposition in. By and large,

:30:05. > :30:08.they have been very well matched. We spoke about everybody's position

:30:09. > :30:15.in the team. Michael Goodfellow here, he may well be the lead in the

:30:16. > :30:19.first -- and the first player to throw, but it is Kiki places these

:30:20. > :30:20.stones in the right position in order for the boys to follow their

:30:21. > :30:49.game plan. That is a great shot from Michael. A

:30:50. > :30:55.tip is where they want to tip it over the edge. This does not look as

:30:56. > :31:02.if it is pulling in after. They will not be too disappointed with that.

:31:03. > :31:08.You have to make sure you are playing heavy enough that you are

:31:09. > :31:19.not going to be left lying out. Is a barrier to them to get to it. They

:31:20. > :31:28.have to give it a go. We need another short stone from Michael. We

:31:29. > :31:45.wanted to be Street in line with another space. That is two excellent

:31:46. > :31:57.stones if we want to have a steel here -- steal. It is a bit like

:31:58. > :32:06.chess. The opposition know exactly what you are doing as well. I am not

:32:07. > :32:18.a big chess player, but maybe it is like checkmate. They are going to

:32:19. > :32:30.put it in the house and that is another good shot. There has been

:32:31. > :32:38.the odd slack shot during the game but it has been a good game. Without

:32:39. > :32:49.re-entering anything, this game could go either way, there is every

:32:50. > :32:56.prospect of a win, if it is a defeat, they will have played Russia

:32:57. > :33:02.and Germany who they would have thought they would have. There is an

:33:03. > :33:09.interesting much going on between Canada and Sweden which is tied at

:33:10. > :33:24.6-6 and Sweden have the hammer in the final end so that would put to

:33:25. > :33:32.-- Canada in a position they would not expect to be end. All of the

:33:33. > :33:46.hard work building towards this disappears.

:33:47. > :33:55.John asking Christopher to come down. Played a little bit tight but

:33:56. > :33:59.I do not think he will be too disappointed because this winter

:34:00. > :34:14.stone is the one that is going to cause him trouble -- the centre

:34:15. > :34:23.stone. Scott being asked to replace that once again.

:34:24. > :34:40.That is a nice shot. That is acting as a protector for us. It makes it

:34:41. > :34:57.much more difficult for the German team to remove our shots in the

:34:58. > :35:16.house. Christopher Bartsch is going to come around the first guard. It

:35:17. > :35:27.is holding pretty straight. We will try to replace that again. This is

:35:28. > :35:33.where nerves start to tell and experience is really important. Greg

:35:34. > :35:55.Drummond has been playing really well and looked calm. It comes down

:35:56. > :36:12.to this, one slip and you let the opposition in. It just swung a

:36:13. > :36:20.little bit too much. Asking John to remove it.

:36:21. > :36:29.Even if Germany managed to remove that stone it gives Great Britain

:36:30. > :36:36.the opportunity to play an even better one behind it, because we

:36:37. > :36:42.still have those two at the front. The game was very well set up why

:36:43. > :36:52.Michael playing two very good shots. Greg has been playing really

:36:53. > :36:56.good takeouts. It is when he has been asked to draw he has not been

:36:57. > :37:23.doing as well. Indicating he might have been a

:37:24. > :37:33.little bit heavy in weight. This has given Great Britain the opportunity

:37:34. > :37:43.to play and out-turn draw and place it even better than we had before,

:37:44. > :37:52.but as you said Greg has not been drawing as well as he has been

:37:53. > :38:05.hitting. He has to give Dave Murdoch something to work to. This looks

:38:06. > :38:10.like a very good shot. Almost, just not tucking in, but not a bad effort

:38:11. > :38:32.from Greg Drummond. This is still a difficult shot they

:38:33. > :38:39.have asked the German skip who plays third stone to come down here at

:38:40. > :38:44.Hack weight, which is a stone that is travelling heavy enough that it

:38:45. > :39:14.will go right out through the house and hit the hack at the back. It is

:39:15. > :39:21.coming. Another good shot. They are trying to use that storage is that

:39:22. > :39:34.it's behind those front to -- use that stone and sit it behind those

:39:35. > :39:50.front two. Asking for time-out? Yes. Soren Gran the coach will come down.

:39:51. > :40:04.If we go round, we are nice. He is going to chase. We cannot leave that

:40:05. > :40:14.because we go perfect year or there, he is going to freeze it. You

:40:15. > :40:27.can see the clock being put in, plenty of time left. Soren Gran is

:40:28. > :40:54.making his way down. If I got here on my first, he had anything -- he

:40:55. > :41:08.has anything. If you just tuck... I like that call. He knows the shot he

:41:09. > :41:30.wants to play. It is interesting to hear what the boys are going to say.

:41:31. > :41:41.Who won? I think Dave Murdoch. It was not a bad call from Soren Gran.

:41:42. > :41:53.David had the gut instinct. He wants to move the shot. He needs to have

:41:54. > :42:01.the right roll in. A crucial stone for Dave Murdoch. If that's does not

:42:02. > :42:10.go well, it will open the way for Germany. That is excellent.

:42:11. > :42:24.Fantastic. He is saving his best until the end. Good shot, good

:42:25. > :42:33.call. Sweden have beaten Canada. They use their hammer with the last

:42:34. > :42:48.stone to win 7-6. We are hoping for a different outcome here. A big

:42:49. > :42:55.discussion going on. Saying, play the same, cut down on the same

:42:56. > :43:03.line, so the stone that has just been removed. These guys really do

:43:04. > :43:13.not need to panic. They just have to move two or three further back. They

:43:14. > :43:22.do not have to remove it out of play, they just have to push it to

:43:23. > :43:30.the back. Felix Schulze has to play a shot he is happy with. It has to

:43:31. > :43:36.figure a little bit with them. He has to play the shot he is

:43:37. > :43:49.comfortable with. That does seem the sensible one to do. What is the

:43:50. > :44:02.crucial thing for him? Move that and live -- lie shot. Dave could not

:44:03. > :44:12.have placed it any better if he tried.

:44:13. > :44:36.Felix Schulze's penultimate stone. They have to be careful. That makes

:44:37. > :44:44.his job a little bit harder. Pressure, its whole demeanour, the

:44:45. > :44:52.last few ends, he has been taking those deep breaths. They maybe had

:44:53. > :44:59.to be on that a little bit earlier, but you are frightened you do not

:45:00. > :45:09.get the finish at the end. There really is no holding it. A great

:45:10. > :45:15.opportunity for Dave Murdoch. He is going to try to protect this. And

:45:16. > :45:23.make the last shot for Felix Schulze as hard as possible. It is difficult

:45:24. > :45:31.cause Germany still have the yellow stone on the right-hand side which

:45:32. > :45:37.they could drive in. They have the yellow sitting at the back of the

:45:38. > :45:44.ring. He does not want to bring it in too far and leave a double but he

:45:45. > :46:01.does not want to leave it too far out. That has picked up.

:46:02. > :46:14.That is really unfortunate. That has made the job easier for Felix

:46:15. > :46:21.Schulze. That is not what you want to see, that usually disappointing

:46:22. > :46:33.-- is really disappointing. Nothing you can do. The rubber sole under

:46:34. > :46:43.the slider shoe, possibly something to do with that. Felix still has to

:46:44. > :46:55.play the shot. You would fancy this, wouldn't you? Yes, although he

:46:56. > :47:07.looks nervous. The chance to take the final end. He just needs to

:47:08. > :47:22.replace the British stone. This one is not taking the pool at all. A

:47:23. > :47:31.steal for Great Britain. Defeat looked the only possibility. Felix

:47:32. > :47:39.Schulze has to apologise to his team because in the last three ends he

:47:40. > :47:46.has played three terrible shots. He was put under pressure and Britain

:47:47. > :47:55.somehow have, we were a 7-6 victory and they will have a huge sigh of

:47:56. > :48:53.relief. That was close. He is the best snowboarder on earth.

:48:54. > :49:05.How tense was that? The appearance of the biggest name in the Winter

:49:06. > :49:18.Olympics. Shaun White can do the impossible.

:49:19. > :49:28.The big headline is that the halfpipe is in dire shape. There

:49:29. > :49:40.have been crisis meetings and talks of possible warning and the opted

:49:41. > :50:04.not to -- and they decided not to postpone.

:50:05. > :50:15.He generates so much speed, his technique is so immaculate. It is

:50:16. > :50:27.absolutely massive. Front side 1080, first hit. Switch ten. There is that

:50:28. > :50:32.signature 540. You know it is in bad condition when even Shaun White is

:50:33. > :50:41.struggling through the middle. And a rodeo to finish. A stock standard

:50:42. > :50:46.run by Shaun. You can just tell how powerful he is. Really strong in the

:50:47. > :50:51.flat bottom, and he keeps his speed. I know you will be focusing on your

:50:52. > :50:58.own game. But Shaun is a ferocious competitor. What would he have made

:50:59. > :51:01.of Ayumu Hirano? He would have been watching some of

:51:02. > :51:14.our runs before his heat. It must be quite liberating for him.

:51:15. > :51:19.After all the controversy over the slopestyle last week, all of the

:51:20. > :51:27.talk about what condition it was in. To strap in and get a score down

:51:28. > :51:34.has probably calmed him down. He will be feeling a lot better now.

:51:35. > :51:45.He has a pet dog called Steve as well!

:51:46. > :51:50.95.75! A big smile finally cracks across Shaun White's face. He has

:51:51. > :51:54.been shouldering a lot of pressure. But he will watch one of his arch

:51:55. > :52:05.rivals on the pipe now. Iouri Podladtchikov. He developed the

:52:06. > :52:36.yo-lo flip. Backside there. Like-for-like so far

:52:37. > :52:43.with Shaw. Oh! If you make any mistake on your edges, it can throw

:52:44. > :52:47.you like that. What did he do that? Too much heel edge pressure? There

:52:48. > :52:52.is a little bump all the way down that ridge. That is what it does to

:52:53. > :53:12.you, it throws you out of sync. Shaun, we can see him getting mobbed

:53:13. > :53:19.by the volunteers who are running the lift on the side of the park. He

:53:20. > :53:23.has been really good with signing and doing photos. He was in training

:53:24. > :53:25.at the top and there must have been 50 people. He was happy to sign

:53:26. > :53:37.anything. And backwards, to switch. Double

:53:38. > :54:15.ten. A crazy mactwist. That was a good

:54:16. > :54:21.run. The first time we have seen the Chinese men compete in an Olympics.

:54:22. > :54:26.We had the women in Vancouver. I personally don't know much about

:54:27. > :54:34.them, we haven't seen them in any of the world snowboard tournaments.

:54:35. > :54:38.They were first very much to themselves, but they have learned

:54:39. > :54:43.the language. They are really cool guys, they are good fun. They enjoy

:54:44. > :54:58.snowboarding. They are killing it at the moment.

:54:59. > :55:04.Looking at the replays, Yiwei Zhang. He missed most of the grabs

:55:05. > :55:14.but the judges did not seem to be marking him down.

:55:15. > :55:20.90 points! There is a real lack of consistency for me. That wasn't

:55:21. > :55:37.better than Taylor Gold's run but there was ten points difference.

:55:38. > :55:49.18 years old will stop I saw him take a whopper of a slam yesterday.

:55:50. > :55:56.-- 18 years old. All of the Japanese riders can take slams like no one

:55:57. > :56:04.you have ever seen. I swear they breed them hard.

:56:05. > :56:10.It is hardening up. You can see it throw him up. The edge got snagged

:56:11. > :56:17.on, he did well to hold on. Normally it is an advantage... That was the

:56:18. > :56:25.big double. He generated a lot of speed at the bottom of the pipe. A

:56:26. > :56:30.good run. He seemed to explode off the lip. It is quite entertaining.

:56:31. > :56:38.The Japanese commentators in the room next to us. They are very happy

:56:39. > :56:43.about that. They are going wild, it is like a pack of baby dogs in their

:56:44. > :56:48.-- rabid dogs. These slow Mo replays showing how he

:56:49. > :57:05.sprang out. Let us see if we can get some

:57:06. > :57:10.consistency from the judges. Well, we are already in a much higher

:57:11. > :57:21.scoring heat. That is a quarter of a point less than Ayumu Hirano. Shaun

:57:22. > :57:26.White, with the highest score so far. Confirmation of these results.

:57:27. > :57:40.Shaun White is predictably at the top.

:57:41. > :57:45.Another Australian in the semifinal spot. A good showing from the

:57:46. > :58:13.Aussies. Watch all the excitement of the

:58:14. > :58:20.Winter Olympics with BBC Sport. We are showing every sport, life, from

:58:36. > :58:40.missed on BBC iPlayer. So you can share in all the drama, wherever you

:58:41. > :58:47.are. The Winter Olympics, across the BBC.

:58:48. > :58:52.It is time for a channel change, we are heading to BBC Two. It has been

:58:53. > :58:59.a great last half an hour, David Maddock and the boys claiming

:59:00. > :59:00.victory over the Germans. And Shaun White, he
