:00:36. > :00:43.in its embryonic stages but the FA winning scope is already reaching

:00:43. > :00:53.its climax, and after 42 years, this is still be trophy everyone wants to

:00:53. > :01:03.

:01:03. > :01:13.win. A lovely goal! Superb! Southhampton swept up in the 70s.

:01:13. > :01:14.

:01:14. > :01:23.Since the mid-19 90s, there has only been one team on everyone's lip.

:01:23. > :01:29.hat-trick for Julie Fleeting! all over now. They are simply

:01:29. > :01:32.unstoppable. With a record 11 victories, Arsenal clearly have the

:01:32. > :01:42.pedigree, but nothing last forever, and after losing to them in a cup

:01:42. > :02:04.

:02:04. > :02:09.final two years ago, Bristol Academy very sunny day in Doncaster, the

:02:09. > :02:19.home of Doncaster Rovers and Doncaster Rovers Belles. It has been

:02:19. > :02:26.a long journey for the Arsenal and Bristol teams. The teams have played

:02:26. > :02:34.in 17 cup finals between them. Faye White has played in ten and 19 of

:02:34. > :02:40.them. We have Casey Stoney and Sue Smith also. Sue, this is your patch.

:02:40. > :02:46.You have been out with an injury. Welcome back. And you came back and

:02:46. > :02:51.miss that gold... Fax for robbing that in! It is a fantastic stadium.

:02:51. > :02:56.What a lovely day for football and it is great for me to be back

:02:56. > :03:01.playing. I have been out for 14 or 15 months and that is a long time so

:03:01. > :03:07.to be back playing, and you see the two teams today, the pitch is in

:03:07. > :03:11.fantastic condition, so it is all set for a good game. Fame act you

:03:11. > :03:15.played in ten of these occasions and plenty more besides so you know the

:03:15. > :03:21.mentality of what it is like coming to these games. Had you control the

:03:21. > :03:27.nerves? Some players have very different techniques. I used to put

:03:27. > :03:32.on music, some like to have fun, have a laugh... Want you come out to

:03:32. > :03:36.the warmup and you get a touch of the ball, you start feeling how you

:03:36. > :03:41.feel. It is something which Bristol, I think, will have to

:03:41. > :03:46.content with. Some of the girls had experienced two years ago when they

:03:46. > :03:51.played in the final. Arsenal have a lot of experience from those finals.

:03:51. > :03:55.A lot of them have experienced this occasion. It is just about getting a

:03:55. > :03:58.good first touch and easing yourself into the game. And as well as having

:03:58. > :04:04.played for Arsenal, you have worked with the club. What is the feeling

:04:04. > :04:12.in the camp this week? In Iraq they come off a feud varied results. They

:04:12. > :04:16.know they have been playing well. -- they have come of varied results.

:04:16. > :04:21.They know they have been playing well but it is just making the most

:04:21. > :04:24.of chances. They did not play in last year's final so they really

:04:24. > :04:29.wanted to make amends this year. They beat Liverpool in the

:04:29. > :04:34.semi-final. They wanted to come and write the things that went wrong

:04:34. > :04:41.last season. Your Lincoln city side laid against Bristol in the

:04:41. > :04:45.semifinals, lost 2-0 to them. What do you make of their side? We were

:04:45. > :04:52.well beaten on that day. They brought their game to us, scored two

:04:52. > :04:58.good goals. One player is not playing and she causes a lot of

:04:58. > :05:05.problems. But they have pace on both wings. They have players who can

:05:05. > :05:11.hurt and players who can play. Bristol are one of the most in

:05:11. > :05:17.proved -- improved sides. They rot off to a flying start in this

:05:17. > :05:25.campaign, winning all three matches so far. Their goalkeeper is Siobhan

:05:25. > :05:30.Chamberlain and we went to see her. There has been huge progress. When I

:05:30. > :05:35.was here before we did not get big crowds. The standard of football was

:05:35. > :05:38.not as good. The league in general was not as competitive. The way we

:05:38. > :05:44.are going has grown over the past six or seven years. It has been

:05:44. > :05:49.huge. We are 100% unbeaten at the moment. We beat Doncaster at the key

:05:49. > :05:55.moment in the first round of the FA Cup. That was our target when we

:05:55. > :05:58.played them. We are here at the start -- want to be here at the end

:05:58. > :06:08.as well. We had tough games against Everton and Lincoln on the way

:06:08. > :06:09.

:06:09. > :06:18.there. Bristol lost in the 2011 cup final. What do you remember of that

:06:18. > :06:22.game? It was a massive experience. We had quite an inexperienced squad.

:06:22. > :06:26.Some people played maybe more the occasion than the game. We have kept

:06:26. > :06:30.a lot of those players together so hopefully now we have a lot of

:06:30. > :06:34.experience behind us. Everyone always expects Arsenal to win and

:06:34. > :06:39.historically, they do. They have been very successful, that if you

:06:39. > :06:41.are going to play Arsenal at any time you want to play them now. They

:06:41. > :06:47.lost 4-0 to Liverpool at the emirates which was a shock for

:06:47. > :06:50.everyone. We know they are beatable. We will play our best. We can beat

:06:50. > :06:57.them. Everyone knows their whole team. They form of international

:06:57. > :07:03.experience. But it is about us focusing on our own game and knowing

:07:03. > :07:10.how we can beat them. What are your strengths? I cannot give that away

:07:10. > :07:16.or we will not win! Laura and Natalia have been excellent. They

:07:16. > :07:22.will be on fire in the cup final. How much of a difference have they

:07:22. > :07:30.made? Laura having another Spanish player here has really helped her

:07:30. > :07:36.and she has grown into the squad. She has another role because she is

:07:36. > :07:44.Natalia's translator. DUP them complaining much about the weather?

:07:44. > :07:50.-- do you hear them complaining? Laura's first week she was not

:07:50. > :07:58.pleased. But they have got used to it. You were one of the first

:07:58. > :08:04.players to get a central contract from the FA. How much did that help

:08:04. > :08:11.your career? It helps us to have more time training but we have to

:08:11. > :08:15.supplement that with work on top. Bristol gave me a job as well,

:08:15. > :08:23.teaching at the college. They are flexible in giving me time. Getting

:08:23. > :08:28.to the FA Cup final was art target and we have achieved that. If we can

:08:28. > :08:34.get a good crowd we can hopefully get everyone supporting as instead

:08:34. > :08:38.of Arsenal. We are going to win. you think she was convinced? They

:08:38. > :08:44.haven't won anything yet. They are quite a young side. The year they

:08:44. > :08:50.were signed as Bristol Rovers... How do they get around the fact that

:08:50. > :08:55.they have yet to cross the finishing line? It is a big job for the

:08:55. > :09:00.manager and support staff to get our confidence up. They have nothing to

:09:00. > :09:06.lose and sometimes that is the best position to be in. The pressure will

:09:06. > :09:10.be on Arsenal. I think they will be dangerous. It is a great start to

:09:11. > :09:18.the season by Bristol, winning all three matches. Are you surprised

:09:18. > :09:24.they have come good so soon? they are a promising young team.

:09:24. > :09:28.They have had some great additions to the team. The last two years they

:09:28. > :09:31.have had that experience and been able to compete. In previous games

:09:31. > :09:39.against Arsenal they have made it really tough for them. I think this

:09:39. > :09:44.will be a really tight game and like Casey said, they have nothing to

:09:44. > :09:51.lose. They could he be winners for this game. It is important to come

:09:51. > :09:58.in with that mentality. I am really looking forward to it. But there is

:09:58. > :10:02.no del Rio. That is a big blow for them. She is fit but on the bench.

:10:02. > :10:06.She is really good at creating chances and making something happen.

:10:06. > :10:11.It will be the likes of Yorston who will need to make sure that is not

:10:11. > :10:14.in their mind when they walk out onto the pitch. That girl that has

:10:14. > :10:20.come in now, they have an opportunity to play in the cup final

:10:20. > :10:24.so they have to grab it. They know that they can bring her on and she

:10:24. > :10:28.could potentially make a difference and change something. She can play

:10:28. > :10:35.either flank, down the middle, and that is really important. Quite a

:10:35. > :10:39.good mental boost for Bristol. Bristol are top of the league and

:10:39. > :10:45.Arsenal are seventh, in usual for them. It has been announced there

:10:45. > :10:55.will be two divisions net season so there will be promotion and

:10:55. > :11:00.

:11:00. > :11:04.in there. There will be an opportunity for them to win

:11:04. > :11:14.promotion the following year. The supporters here at Doncaster are

:11:14. > :11:21.

:11:21. > :11:24.and we thought we deserved a place. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

:11:24. > :11:28.Now we have to be as professional as we can on the pitch and show

:11:28. > :11:34.everybody what we are about. We are about that professional attitude and

:11:34. > :11:38.the fans have been really into. They have made petitions and banners. It

:11:38. > :11:47.shows how far up football has come, the fact that they are so supportive

:11:47. > :11:52.and there is so much ration. Also they had to apply to the FA based on

:11:52. > :11:56.the criteria, such as marketing and the type of stuff they could

:11:56. > :12:05.employ, so it was not just about history. They will find out in the

:12:05. > :12:10.next few weeks. Let's have a little word now with the Bristol manager,

:12:10. > :12:18.Mark Sampson, who has been talking to our man, Damien Johnson in the

:12:18. > :12:27.tunnel I heard of this game. Underdogs today. How do you stop

:12:27. > :12:32.Arsenal? We are underdogs. We have been all our lives. It is no shock

:12:32. > :12:38.to us to be in that position but it has served us well so far. Today we

:12:38. > :12:42.have to make sure we perform to a level that makes us come back.

:12:42. > :12:48.of your key players, Laura del Rio, carrying an injury for some time.

:12:48. > :12:53.She is on the bench. Yes, she has been carrying a hamstring injury but

:12:53. > :12:57.she is fit for today. We felt we wanted to make the changes. We have

:12:57. > :13:04.stuck to the team that finished and played the majority of that last

:13:04. > :13:11.game at law is available from the bench. You have written to the

:13:11. > :13:15.fans. What was the message to them? We do it for every big game. We are

:13:15. > :13:23.a real family for all club. I hope they understand the message because

:13:23. > :13:30.the message is that we should be ourselves, leave nothing to chance

:13:30. > :13:40.and enjoy the day. Good luck. So no Laura del Rio from the start

:13:40. > :13:44.

:13:44. > :13:52.but we might well see her from the She has scored 300 goals in the

:13:52. > :14:02.league in Spain. How much has she impressed you? I think in seven

:14:02. > :14:05.

:14:05. > :14:14.of emphasis will be on her to lead the team forward. She can definitely

:14:15. > :14:21.do that. She has been given a little bit of publicity by the nickname her

:14:21. > :14:26.manager gave her. She is very good in the air, very good at linking up

:14:26. > :14:31.late, and they have players on both sides that coming up with her.

:14:31. > :14:37.Staniforth is a key player as well. Yes, in midfield. She is a new

:14:37. > :14:45.addition this season but she will be the creative one to try to link up

:14:45. > :14:50.to get those balls through. I think Gemma Owens may have a part to play

:14:50. > :14:56.as well. If they give free kicks around the box that could be

:14:56. > :15:01.something that... Good to see that Bristol... I tell you what, I can't

:15:01. > :15:06.hear myself think in here. It is so noisy. But the Bristol players have

:15:06. > :15:09.been getting together and thinking a little song this week, because it is

:15:09. > :15:19.the true tradition of the FA Cup that we need to have an FA Cup final

:15:19. > :15:47.

:15:47. > :15:53.will be having a look at Arsenal now. Their manager only took over in

:15:53. > :15:57.February but already she has a chance of silverware.

:15:57. > :16:02.Is the occasion getting to you? Were you use it as a positive? Absolutely

:16:02. > :16:08.not. These are the types of games that you want to be involved in,

:16:08. > :16:13.whether URA player, supporter, coach or manager. Really excited. Have you

:16:13. > :16:16.spoken to the team about using this sense of occasion? I think so. At

:16:16. > :16:20.Arsenal, the expectations are really high but there is no one more

:16:20. > :16:25.equipped than the girls that are in that dressing room. Sometimes you

:16:25. > :16:30.have to play it down a little bit. We are trying to concentrate on

:16:30. > :16:33.playing football. Coming in as favourites though. Arguably. I think

:16:33. > :16:39.Bristol are top of the table and they have got off to a flyer in the

:16:39. > :16:43.league but perhaps we are not as hot favourites as we normally are. As I

:16:43. > :16:47.say, cup finals are different. We need to be at our very best to get a

:16:47. > :16:57.result. You have been struggling in the league. Are you feeling

:16:57. > :16:59.

:16:59. > :17:03.pressure? Not at all. We have only played two games. Everyone else is

:17:03. > :17:06.interpreting it as a bad season for us but we don't think that. There is

:17:06. > :17:10.still lots of evidence there that we have been playing particularly

:17:10. > :17:15.well. Arsenal have an illustrious history in this competition. Sub

:17:15. > :17:21.into live up to. Yes but that is the beauty of football. Everyone wants

:17:21. > :17:29.to be a winner. The team are no different.

:17:29. > :17:34.A big day for Shelley Kerr. The first chance to win some silverware

:17:34. > :17:41.with Arsenal. But she has plenty of experience in the team. They still

:17:41. > :17:46.have Rachel Yankey, over 100 England caps. And then there is the small

:17:46. > :17:56.matter of Kim Little, one of the key players in that team. She is the

:17:56. > :18:05.

:18:05. > :18:11.the sport. How would you sell it to someone who's never watched women's

:18:11. > :18:15.football? People always compare it to the men's game. I think to sort

:18:15. > :18:19.of not do that because the men's game is obviously a lot faster. But

:18:19. > :18:24.just to see it as its own sport. That is what more and more people

:18:24. > :18:31.are doing now. The winner of the women's player of the year award for

:18:31. > :18:35.2013 is Kim Little. It was a great night. The team had been nominated

:18:35. > :18:39.and it was great for it to be a player's player of the year award.

:18:39. > :18:42.All your fellow players voting makes it even more special and for it to

:18:42. > :18:52.be the first one, it was a great achievement for me to win it

:18:52. > :18:53.

:18:53. > :18:57.personally. It was a great evening to be a part of. Another landmark

:18:57. > :19:01.was representing Team GB at last year 's Olympics. Yes, for there to

:19:01. > :19:04.be women's football at the Olympics was great and for there to be a

:19:04. > :19:12.Great Britain team was even more special. It was such a great

:19:12. > :19:18.occasion. That was an incredible experience.

:19:18. > :19:22.Still when I think about it now, to win at Wembley and to play for

:19:22. > :19:27.silverware in front of all those people, just to be involved in the

:19:27. > :19:32.London Olympics was so special. are 22. Do you feel there is extra

:19:32. > :19:34.pressure on you now? I don't really feel pressure that much. I have

:19:34. > :19:41.gained so much experience from playing in the Olympics and playing

:19:41. > :19:47.for Scotland as well. Domestically, not the best start to the season. A

:19:47. > :19:54.defeat to Liverpool in your first match. How tough was about to take?

:19:54. > :19:58.I didn't even realise that but to go unbeaten for that long, it was

:19:58. > :20:03.disappointing to lose the first home game. We need to bounce back from

:20:03. > :20:09.that. You have had a change of manager at Arsenal. What is it like

:20:09. > :20:13.working under Shelley Kerr. --? Training is a bit different from

:20:13. > :20:19.what it was before. It will be eight bit more specific in terms of what

:20:19. > :20:23.we work on each session. She has brought a lot of new things and

:20:23. > :20:28.freshness to the club which I think will be great for the club. It is

:20:28. > :20:31.the club 's 13th FA Cup final. What is the competition mean to the

:20:31. > :20:41.players? The FA Cup is a great occasion. I have been lucky enough

:20:41. > :20:41.

:20:42. > :20:47.to be involved in my fourth one, I think this is. It was incredible to

:20:47. > :20:50.score in my first one. It will be a great game to watch for the neutral.

:20:50. > :20:53.Both teams have great attacking players. We have plenty of

:20:53. > :21:02.experience of playing in finals and that kind of occasion. Hopefully we

:21:02. > :21:07.can use that to our advantage. a key player Kim Little is. She is

:21:07. > :21:15.only 22 years of age but she already has 81 caps for Scotland. She will

:21:15. > :21:19.have aired at 300 by the time she finishes. -- about 300.

:21:19. > :21:24.She scored in a cup final a couple of years ago. Could she be the

:21:24. > :21:28.difference today? Definitely. Every game she plays in, she has that

:21:28. > :21:31.potential and ability to change the game. Even when I was a senior

:21:31. > :21:39.player, I would look to her to create something because she is that

:21:39. > :21:44.good. She is the player of the year. I think the team see her as the one

:21:44. > :21:49.to stop. She has been getting frustrating and wanting to create

:21:49. > :21:52.more in recent games but they know how to defend against her. She will

:21:52. > :21:56.have two adapter game and work harder to find space on the ball

:21:56. > :22:01.because a lot of the other team managers will single her out. They

:22:01. > :22:04.might put a couple of players on her. She is a player that can bounce

:22:04. > :22:08.out of a couple of challenges but she just needs to know when she is

:22:08. > :22:13.going to have to give it off to other players to allow them to play

:22:13. > :22:17.rather than always trying to make that chance happen. How much has she

:22:17. > :22:20.learned from Kelly Smith? I think being in Team GB last year was a

:22:20. > :22:27.great excitement for me as a fan because it was a chance to see them

:22:27. > :22:35.at international level on the pitch together. Their understanding on the

:22:35. > :22:40.pitch is fantastic. They see the passes that they want to make. Kelly

:22:40. > :22:43.has loads of experience that she can pass on to all of the players.

:22:43. > :22:49.was quite a shock on the opening day of the season. We are so used to

:22:49. > :22:55.Arsenal winning. There was a really good crowd and they went and lost to

:22:55. > :23:00.Liverpool. Liverpool have come bottom of the league for the last

:23:00. > :23:05.couple of years. They are a different proposition this year.

:23:05. > :23:10.Yes, I thought it was a mistake. You just don't see that against Arsenal.

:23:10. > :23:13.It is a bigger pitch. Liverpool have invested a lot of money in the

:23:13. > :23:17.women's game. I think it is fantastic. The players up training

:23:17. > :23:22.every day and they are playing it on a professional basis this year. They

:23:22. > :23:26.will be contenders this year. will be fascinating to see who wins

:23:26. > :23:31.the day. Arsenal's dominance over the last decade has been absolutely

:23:31. > :23:36.phenomenal. People always say to me, Arsenal and who in the FA Cup final?

:23:36. > :23:43.Last year, they were not in it. Look at this. They won the quadruple in

:23:43. > :23:47.2007. Yes, they do dominate but if there is a good time to play

:23:47. > :23:51.Arsenal, it could be now. They have not been as consistent as normal.

:23:51. > :23:54.They have been beaten. Liverpool beat them. That has got to give

:23:54. > :23:59.Bristol a little bit of belief. I have watched Arsenal a few times on

:23:59. > :24:02.the other hand and they have created so many chances. It is that final

:24:02. > :24:11.bit of clinical finishing. If they get that today, the floodgates could

:24:11. > :24:14.open. So from the neutrals point of view, not an early for Arsenal.

:24:14. > :24:19.Bristol will want to keep it tight. The longer the game goes on, the

:24:19. > :24:25.more belief that Bristol will have. It usually at this stage we pick out

:24:25. > :24:30.ones to watch, people that people do not know about, but with Arsenal,

:24:30. > :24:40.who do you pick? There are so many of them. People who watch the

:24:40. > :24:44.

:24:56. > :25:06.be a defender to watch today. midday -- Gemma Davison has placed a

:25:06. > :25:10.burn. Yes, she for me will be the difference today. She is very direct

:25:10. > :25:16.and can dribble. For me personally, she is one of the best wingers that

:25:16. > :25:26.I have ever had to play against. She is absolutely incredible. I am a

:25:26. > :25:32.

:25:32. > :25:39.massive fan. Are you surprised that Gemma Davison has not had more of a

:25:39. > :25:42.login with the England squad? because she did perform well early

:25:42. > :25:48.on. She went off to America and learned a lot when she went to

:25:48. > :25:53.America and she has come back and even better player. She can make

:26:21. > :26:24.

:26:24. > :26:29.to extra time. I always sit on the fence. But I do honestly feel that

:26:29. > :26:32.Bristol have got a very good chance this year. They just need to believe

:26:32. > :26:37.in themselves. They have experienced it and now they can take all that

:26:37. > :26:42.out, the nerves should be gone. It will be really tight. Both teams

:26:42. > :26:49.like to play football. If Arsenal score early, I fear for Bristol but

:26:49. > :26:57.I am sitting on the fence. I don't know why I bothered asking you.

:26:57. > :27:03.Bristol have some very good young players. It will be interesting to

:27:03. > :27:06.see how those young players cope on the big occasion. I think it is a

:27:06. > :27:10.massive test for them but I don't think they will feel anything. It is

:27:10. > :27:20.a good test. Young players are fearless and they are energetic and

:27:20. > :27:25.they will want to go out and prove themselves. Arsenal lost in the

:27:25. > :27:30.semi-final last year. It was against Chelsea. Arsenal had most of the

:27:40. > :27:41.

:27:41. > :27:47.outstanding. Will that spurred them on today? Yes, the girls have been

:27:47. > :27:52.saying all week that they remember that loss. That will spur them on.

:27:52. > :28:00.In a few minutes, they will walk past the trophy and just like

:28:14. > :28:20.the goalkeeper, Siobhan Chamberlain. Yes, they have the experience and

:28:20. > :28:26.the youth. They have a nice balance. The teams are in the tunnel. This is

:28:26. > :28:36.it. It is the 2013 FA women's cup final. It is Bristol Academy against

:28:36. > :28:45.

:28:45. > :28:51.biggest day in the year in the English women's football season. For

:28:51. > :28:59.those players in the tunnel, they are in the shade for the moment. But

:28:59. > :29:03.they will be certainly getting very tense as we come towards kick-off.

:29:03. > :29:07.2013 has already seen Swansea and Wigan surprisingly carry off the

:29:07. > :29:12.silverware in the men's domestic cup competitions but it would be an ever

:29:12. > :29:17.bigger shock if Bristol Academy win this. It might even signal the end

:29:17. > :29:27.of an era. In their 26 year history, Arsenal have dominated the

:29:27. > :29:28.

:29:28. > :29:35.sport. 38 trophies, 11 FA cups. Six in the last nine years. And Bristol

:29:35. > :29:45.walking out onto the field. They are top of the fledgeling league table

:29:45. > :29:45.

:29:45. > :29:52.but the biggest thing they have ever one is the Premier league trophy.

:29:52. > :29:55.Plenty of experience. Bristol have an average age of 24. They admit

:29:55. > :30:00.they were too inexperienced when Arsenal beat them in the final two

:30:00. > :30:04.years ago. They have a great following appear. The Bristol

:30:04. > :30:07.supporters have really added colour to the occasion. Nine of the Arsenal

:30:28. > :30:37.the Bristol team. Lucy Ward-mac The build-up lasts a couple of weeks and

:30:37. > :30:43.then you settle in. We saw a shot of Jameson's around the line. She was

:30:43. > :30:51.in the final two or three years ago where Arsenal were on the losing end

:31:46. > :31:55.of these FA Cup finals. She will be one that a lot of the younger

:31:55. > :32:02.players look up to. She is quick and effective. A shot of the Bristol

:32:12. > :32:20.between Swansea and Bristol. The centre backs here today are aged 21

:32:20. > :32:25.and 19. Yes, but when you are younger, you do not have any fear.

:32:25. > :32:35.But believe me this is a big stage. If the first five or ten minutes go

:34:48. > :34:48.

:35:31. > :35:38.losing side against Arsenal in three finals. She has lots of experience,

:35:38. > :35:44.though. What an impact Natalia made when she came into the side, scoring

:35:44. > :35:50.22 seconds into her debut in the game against Everton. They have bags

:35:50. > :35:57.of enthusiasm, youth, fire in their bellies after two years. But the

:35:57. > :36:02.winners will be today... ? I am going to sit on the fence. I am

:36:02. > :36:09.going to see how it starts. Arsenal had a little bit of a dodgy start to

:42:03. > :42:12.of Bristol Academy, normally takes things like this. It has hit the

:42:12. > :42:16.post, I think! Matthews was forward with the final effort. But I think

:42:16. > :42:21.that corner comes in and smacks the woodwork. I think Kim Little was

:42:21. > :42:26.watching the all like it was going to go off. It didn't. A great

:45:35. > :45:43.of it. That is not something you would normally see her do. The kit

:47:26. > :47:31.on the attacking line. BT, possibly it away. Staniforth. A shot on the

:47:31. > :47:40.half turn. It is a good effort as well. Siobhan Chamberlain had to

:47:40. > :47:47.push it over. Yes, that is good covering by the goalkeeper. She will

:47:57. > :48:00.

:48:00. > :48:04.minutes are absolutely vital for this cup final. Siobhan Chamberlain

:48:52. > :48:57.would think that a Spanish player coming into this, how athletic and

:49:38. > :50:15.

:50:15. > :50:23.season but not here at the FA Cup punches it away. Surely the best

:50:51. > :50:54.have plenty in their tank? They definitely have plenty in their tank

:50:54. > :50:58.but the rest of the teams are catching up with them and with the

:50:58. > :51:02.new manager, new ideas, did everybody fit in with that? The

:51:02. > :51:05.manager will have players that she wants to maybe bring in. Players

:51:05. > :51:08.that she thinks are better than others. You don't know. And to fit

:51:08. > :51:18.in with something that quite a lot of these players are used to takes a

:51:18. > :51:22.lot of doing. But no doubt, they have the quality. We have not even

:51:22. > :51:28.spoken about Kim Little. She is very effective on the ball. I think a new

:51:28. > :51:31.manager may cause just a little bit of a wobble but hopefully for her,

:51:31. > :51:41.she comes in and continues to do what they have been doing over the

:51:41. > :52:01.

:52:01. > :52:04.could and should have been another goal. That is another brilliant

:52:04. > :52:08.save. Both centre halves for Bristol are looking at the assistant referee

:52:08. > :52:12.and asking why that was not offside. I could not really see from the

:52:12. > :52:19.first shot but she just had a free shot on goal. Siobhan Chamberlain

:52:19. > :52:25.did extremely well to get across. Excellent save. Bristol reacted a

:52:25. > :52:28.little bit sluggishly in the build-up there. Little with the

:52:29. > :52:34.corner and again, a safe pair of hands from Siobhan Chamberlain. She

:52:34. > :52:44.has started the game well. Yes, grabbing the ball easily from the

:52:44. > :52:59.

:52:59. > :53:02.Bristol are under pressure. They have got to keep the ball and ease

:53:02. > :53:12.the pressure a little bit. Arsenal recycled the ball so well in the

:53:12. > :53:26.

:53:26. > :53:36.final third. You do not want to bring it away for Bristol. She

:53:36. > :53:42.

:53:52. > :53:52.

:53:52. > :54:01.the game. She has been injured. She may have been a little unsure coming

:54:01. > :54:08.into this game. That is a great save. She was onside. Yes, she is.

:54:08. > :54:13.Yes, that is inviting trouble. It was a great effort and a great save.

:54:13. > :54:20.But she could have taken a touch to the side before easily slotting at

:56:08. > :56:13.that. The pitch was in a dreadful state towards the end of the season

:59:11. > :59:18.Beattie. Yes, you are always valuable to 18 when you can play in

:59:18. > :59:23.any position. Bristol were slow again in covering across and

:59:23. > :59:27.preventing the shot getting away. They need a bit more urgency in

:59:27. > :59:31.their defending. There is not enough pressure on the ball. That is

:59:31. > :59:34.basically a free shot on goal. They have to make it difficult for her to

:03:40. > :03:45.The old guard is slowly moving away from the game. There are some big

:15:40. > :15:48.And into the grateful hands of the goalkeeper. What a great run that

:15:48. > :15:56.was. She ran a long way. Terrific counterattack. There was not much

:15:56. > :16:02.pressure on her and she just kept going. Great effort but just what

:16:02. > :16:06.you want as a goalkeeper, coming back into your arms from the post.

:16:06. > :16:16.Great run though. She had a look at to see if there was any support.

:16:16. > :16:21.

:16:21. > :16:31.Almost in again, Arsenal. Mark Sampson is unhappy with the way that

:16:31. > :16:37.

:16:37. > :16:47.she was allowed to run half the way -- half the pitch. She made her

:16:47. > :16:52.

:16:52. > :16:57.England debut against Italy earlier the first half is that she has not

:16:57. > :17:00.had the ball to run with, Harding on the Bristol right. She hasn't and

:17:00. > :17:06.she's one of their outlets. Conceding that early goal, she has

:17:15. > :17:20.change after half-time if Marcam -- Mark Sampson has a word with them.

:17:20. > :17:24.This is Harding now. Again Kim Little astute, coming across,

:17:24. > :17:34.pushing her out wider and wider. Sometimes you don't need to make the

:17:34. > :17:46.

:17:46. > :17:56.challenge. You just need to get your here in the league last season

:17:56. > :17:57.

:18:07. > :18:10.

:18:27. > :18:35.Sampson will be very disappointed how his team are always second to

:18:35. > :18:45.the ball in this first half. Whether they are playing -- paying Arsenal

:18:45. > :18:53.

:18:53. > :18:58.too much respect or not, I don't minutes remaining in the half.

:18:58. > :19:08.Certainly Bristol need to get Natalia at the business end of the

:19:08. > :19:19.

:19:19. > :19:23.had, but it is a goal kick. It had already crossed the line. It did

:19:23. > :19:33.actually get a deflection there from a Bristol defender. I think it was

:19:33. > :19:42.

:19:42. > :19:45.Jaz Matthews. She thought it was in, because Steph Houghton was

:19:45. > :19:55.sandwiched between two Bristol players and could not get any sort

:19:55. > :20:13.

:20:13. > :20:18.of jump. The referee has had a good purpose and more freedom. That was a

:20:18. > :20:26.great challenge. She hurt herself as she made the challenge. But she

:20:26. > :20:33.saved the team with the tackle. it was eight great blocking the

:20:33. > :20:39.end. Great run by Gemma Davison. I don't know if she just twisted her

:20:39. > :20:46.ankle a little. But is a painful one. Alex Windell, one of the girls

:20:47. > :20:52.who came through the Academy system. Mark Sampson runs this team and the

:20:52. > :20:58.college team and the reserves as well. She came through into the team

:20:58. > :21:04.last year. You can just see their just as her foot landed and she

:21:04. > :21:08.blocked the ball, just a little twist forward. And there will be a

:21:08. > :21:16.fair number of young girls who hope she is not injured. She coaches the

:21:16. > :21:21.under 11 is at the college. It is great for aspiring footballers to

:21:21. > :21:28.have the stars of today coaching them. Aspirations to get where they

:21:28. > :21:33.are a great role models. Again, she has two earn a living outside the

:21:33. > :21:43.game. I think she works in a worldwide change of -- chain of

:21:43. > :21:53.restaurants that I cannot mention. But you can go there on a Friday.

:21:53. > :21:57.

:21:57. > :22:02.Into the last minute of the first Nobbs had one that was deflected

:22:02. > :22:12.onto the post. A couple of good chances. But Steph Houghton with the

:22:12. > :22:14.

:22:14. > :22:19.goal that separates the sides. Team GB hero and England international.

:22:19. > :22:24.She was a team-mate of mine at Leeds. She has been unlucky with

:22:24. > :22:29.injuries. She was absolutely devastated breaking her leg. I

:22:29. > :22:32.remember saying to her, you have a long career in front of you, the

:22:32. > :22:37.Olympics last year was reward for what she has done in the game and

:22:37. > :22:46.the hard work and the fact that she has had these negatives. Jennifer

:22:46. > :22:50.Beattie for Arsenal. One minute of stoppage time will be played. She

:22:50. > :22:54.did well to get it away under pressure. Jennifer Beattie. Bristol

:22:55. > :23:02.have given her too much freedom to move forward on the Arsenal left.

:23:02. > :23:08.Nobbs switches it. That is a good pass. A second goal would be

:23:08. > :23:17.devastating for Bristol Academy. White, will she get the shot away?

:23:17. > :23:22.It is eventually blocked. And there was a foul. Yes, I think that was a

:23:22. > :23:27.foul. But to concede at this stage for Bristol, that would change the

:23:27. > :23:37.whole complexion of the game in the second half. While it is one goal,

:23:37. > :23:49.

:23:49. > :23:57.they have a chance. 20 seconds left then they end the first half in

:23:57. > :24:07.possession. They started the first offering spectacular -- they started

:24:07. > :24:10.

:24:10. > :24:20.the first half in spectacular manner. They lead in this FA Cup

:24:20. > :24:28.

:24:28. > :24:31.Ladies had the better of that first half but just one goal. You never

:24:31. > :24:37.quite know what could happen in the second half. Faye White, your former

:24:37. > :24:41.club, what did you make of their performance? They started off really

:24:41. > :24:44.bright and to score within 90 seconds was obviously ideal for

:24:44. > :24:49.Arsenal but probably the worst thing that Bristol and Mark Sampson would

:24:49. > :24:59.have wanted for his team. I was quite surprised they set their stall

:24:59. > :25:12.

:25:12. > :25:16.out as FourFourTwo. They normally out to the wide players. That

:25:16. > :25:24.happens when you first play in an FA Cup final. You don't quite find your

:25:24. > :25:28.feet and your decision-making is a little bit slow. We did wonder how

:25:28. > :25:32.they would compensate for the lack of Del Rio. She is such a player for

:25:32. > :25:42.them. She drifts and can play on the left. I'd is a huge benefit for

:25:42. > :25:43.

:25:43. > :25:46.Italia. Yes, we wondered why that -- if that was maybe the reason why

:25:46. > :25:51.they changed their formation. But for me, they have got themselves

:25:51. > :25:54.back into the game and created a few chances. The nerves could have got

:25:54. > :25:58.to them and the floodgates could have opened and thankfully that

:25:58. > :26:01.didn't happen. They have gradually got their way back into it. I think

:26:01. > :26:05.the game is a little bit more free-flowing and could go either

:26:05. > :26:12.way. How does this compare against the Bristol side that played against

:26:12. > :26:20.you in the semifinals? I think they are giving Arsenal too much time.

:26:20. > :26:23.They are giving them too much time with the ball on their feet -- at

:26:23. > :26:30.their feet. Arsenal are delivering crosses and causing problems from

:26:31. > :26:34.wide areas. It is a brave decision to go for- 4-2. They need to press

:26:34. > :26:39.the ball and stop Arsenal playing. They are asking too much of their

:26:39. > :26:44.wide midfielders. They have two travel great distances to press the

:26:44. > :26:49.fullbacks. I think he might change it at half-time. Even if he plays a

:26:49. > :26:51.front three, the centre forward can take care of the centre halves. They

:26:51. > :26:55.will have players in attack when they go forward and they don't have

:26:55. > :27:04.that at the moment. We did say in the build-up that Bristol do not

:27:04. > :27:14.want to concede early on. This happened inside 90 seconds. Rachel

:27:14. > :27:20.

:27:20. > :27:24.Yankey with the ball. And we saw the Yankey can do. She has acres of

:27:24. > :27:31.space. That run into the box is fantastic and what a pinpoint cross

:27:31. > :27:34.by Rachel Yankey and a fantastic finish. But Ellen White, you don't

:27:34. > :27:41.actually realise, that she makes that run across the defender. She

:27:41. > :27:51.actually brings the defender away. From an attacking point of view,

:27:51. > :27:56.

:27:56. > :28:04.what a great finish. She stops for that split second. I think the

:28:04. > :28:14.disappointing thing for me is was it was a Bristol flowing. Not that any

:28:14. > :28:15.

:28:15. > :28:18.point have Bristol got tight enough. Arsenal have for ever and a day to

:28:18. > :28:23.pick someone out. It is a great goal but have they really been under

:28:23. > :28:32.pressure during that day and I would say no. How much of that was down to

:28:32. > :28:38.them playing in an FA Cup final. The change of formation? I think it is

:28:38. > :28:44.just dealing with the occasion. Concealing -- conceding possession

:28:44. > :28:51.on your throw, it is asking a lot of the midfielders to deal with the

:28:51. > :28:55.Arsenal three. The movement is so good. Constantly chasing at the

:28:55. > :28:59.moment. They are trying to track runners. I have got to admit, I

:28:59. > :29:02.think the centre halves could communicate better. And that will

:29:02. > :29:12.make it easier for the distances they have to run them. I am hoping

:29:12. > :29:13.

:29:13. > :29:19.they will come out, Bristol. If they have a bit of confidence, they can

:29:19. > :29:28.come out in the second half. Bristol went extremely close from a Yorston

:29:28. > :29:33.corner kick. Their deliveries have not been very good. Their deliveries

:29:33. > :29:42.from set pieces are usually so much better than they are doing today.

:29:42. > :29:47.But that has hit the post. She will be disappointed. I think she was not

:29:47. > :29:52.expecting that. Kim Little probably would like to have done a little bit

:29:52. > :29:57.better there. But that was a chance. More missed opportunities for Ellen

:29:57. > :30:02.White. She is a decent striker of the ball. Siobhan Chamberlain has

:30:02. > :30:06.been a key player in the first half. She has kept her team in it with a

:30:06. > :30:10.couple of good saves. But Ellen White will work really hard across

:30:10. > :30:19.the front line. She is a poacher Angie often tries to nick the goal

:30:19. > :30:23.that you do not expect her to school -- score. She just gets a little

:30:23. > :30:33.turn off and you can see the movement as well. She is always

:30:33. > :30:43.

:30:43. > :30:45.moving and always knowing that she will get a good delivery. Ellen

:30:45. > :30:55.White was unfortunate. I think it was a great save from Siobhan

:30:55. > :31:01.

:31:01. > :31:07.her side. A lot of them are very young. Some it is their first cup

:31:07. > :31:15.final. Some it is their second. need Corinne Yorston as well. They

:31:15. > :31:24.are the players that the young players will look to two give them

:31:24. > :31:30.confidence. I have seen Bristol come back into the game. They seem to

:31:30. > :31:36.have that work ethic, to keep at it. And they do not change the way they

:31:36. > :31:40.play. They like to keep the ball and they will carry on doing that.

:31:41. > :31:46.Shortly we will be talking about Euro 2013 but if this is not enough

:31:46. > :31:54.sport for you for the weekend, here is a bit more. Highlights of

:31:55. > :31:59.today's Monaco Grand Prix. Highlights of the final day's play

:31:59. > :32:09.of the PGA golf from Wentworth. And tomorrow there is even more

:32:09. > :32:22.

:32:22. > :32:32.Palace are heading to Wembley! it clears!

:32:32. > :32:38.

:32:38. > :32:43.And you can also listen to that match on radio five live. We will

:32:43. > :32:48.have the build up from 2pm. Can't wait for that match. The women's

:32:48. > :32:52.domestic season is in full swing here in England but it is less than

:32:52. > :32:57.seven weeks until the start of Euro 2013 in Sweden. Several players

:32:57. > :33:04.today will be wanting to make a good impression today in front of the

:33:04. > :33:08.England coach. What do you think of this cup final so far?

:33:08. > :33:14.Really good for Arsenal but credit to Bristol. They have clawed their

:33:14. > :33:19.way back into the game. Hit the post, obviously. Probably Bristol

:33:19. > :33:23.giving a little bit too much room. Steph almost scored a game because

:33:23. > :33:31.of it... I think it has been quite entertaining. Are you watching with

:33:31. > :33:37.bated? Worried about injuries? do have that at the back of your

:33:37. > :33:41.mind. Obviously, we are going into the euro is this summer. You want

:33:41. > :33:49.everyone to be fit and healthy. We have a long way to go in terms of

:33:49. > :33:55.matchplay. I just hope it is a really good game. It is not that

:33:55. > :34:01.long until you have to announce your squad for Euro 2013. How close are

:34:01. > :34:07.you? Not that close at the moment. We have had a feud injuries. A lot

:34:07. > :34:13.of players waterline but on the 10th of June we will present a long squad

:34:13. > :34:18.to UEFA. On the 17th of June we will narrow it down to the final 23.

:34:18. > :34:23.There is still time for players to perform and hopefully we will have a

:34:23. > :34:28.fit and healthy 23 players. At this stage, we could be looking at

:34:28. > :34:35.surprises? I think the nature of the game and the fact that we are just

:34:35. > :34:41.into the W SL season means that we have had some injury scares already.

:34:41. > :34:45.Fingers crossed everybody stays fit and healthy. Everybody is talking a

:34:45. > :34:54.lot about German foot or at the moment. Looking ahead to the euro

:34:54. > :35:00.is, how dangerous are the Germans? There cannot be ignored. They will

:35:00. > :35:06.want to amend for the World Cup and not being part of the Olympics. For

:35:06. > :35:10.Euro 2013 it will be tough. The fact that we are there, hopefully the

:35:10. > :35:20.players will remain fit and healthy. I am hoping it will be a great sum

:35:20. > :35:20.

:35:20. > :35:26.of women's football. See you there. We have the England captain, Casey

:35:26. > :35:33.Stoney, to tell us how scared you are of France, Spain and Russia will

:35:33. > :35:41.stop how will England do? It will be tough. There are three tough teams

:35:41. > :35:51.in the group. It will come down to playing well in each game. We will

:35:51. > :35:52.

:35:52. > :35:58.not look ahead. I think Faye nicked the draw goal that took us to the

:35:58. > :36:04.next final. It will be tough. Russia took as all the way in 2009. France

:36:04. > :36:09.are a great side. We need to focus on every game as it comes. Every

:36:09. > :36:16.game as it comes? That Russia game, Kelly Smith scored from the halfway

:36:16. > :36:21.line. So you hope she will be fit. Yes, I was sat in the stand for that

:36:21. > :36:25.after getting sent off in the previous game. Kelly is capable of

:36:26. > :36:30.turning the game on its head. We then got all the way to the final,

:36:30. > :36:36.so we would love to try to replicate that a game this year. Yes, and

:36:36. > :36:40.whenever you ask the head coach how England are doing... With the France

:36:40. > :36:46.game being lost and then being such an emerging nation, they will

:36:46. > :36:52.presumably want to get things out of Spain and Russia? May yes, the Spain

:36:52. > :36:55.game in particular, you will want a good result. In 2009 we were beaten

:36:55. > :37:02.by Italy and then we managed to get to the final, so anything can

:37:02. > :37:05.happen. But people say, you need to get out of the group. The first two

:37:05. > :37:12.games there is a massive focus, and then you can look at the France

:37:12. > :37:19.situation. England are definitely capable to get out of the group.

:37:19. > :37:25.is all on the BBC. You will be stuck with me, instead of having the

:37:25. > :37:30.captain's armband, which he passed over to Casey. Is it the group of

:37:30. > :37:37.death or can England be confident of getting out of it? The girls summed

:37:37. > :37:41.it up. Sweden and Germany are formidable and they change their

:37:41. > :37:48.team year on year and still win. We have struggled against Spain in the

:37:48. > :37:54.past. Maybe Italian might play in it now that she's doing really well.

:37:54. > :38:00.shall see. Euro 2013 starts on Wednesday the 10th of July on BBC

:38:00. > :38:04.Three. We will see you all the way through to Sunday July the 28th.

:23:14. > :23:17.there. Well dealt with by Bristol. That is a real danger point where

:23:17. > :23:21.you are throwing all these players forward and leave it a little bit

:23:21. > :23:27.open at the back. I don't know if the Bristol coach knows more than we

:23:27. > :23:29.do, the clock says a minute ago, he has just put up ten fingers up to

:23:29. > :23:37.his players, suggesting there are ten minutes left. I don't think

:23:37. > :23:47.there is that much stoppage time following the injury to Paul Lucy

:23:47. > :24:03.

:24:03. > :24:06.key time for these to win a trophy, Arsenal. I know they have won lots

:24:06. > :24:10.but they have a new manager and they needed to put a marker down and that

:24:10. > :24:20.is exactly what they have done today. In big games, they know

:24:20. > :24:32.

:24:32. > :24:35.exactly what it takes to win finals 2007 that really change the whole

:24:35. > :24:45.image of women's football in this country. Six minutes of stoppage

:24:45. > :24:53.

:24:53. > :25:03.time signalled. Laura Del Rio. This is a chance. Scott got back to

:25:03. > :25:06.

:25:06. > :25:16.cover. Arsenal have a player down. can play on. They are breaking so

:25:16. > :25:29.

:25:29. > :25:39.fast. Bristol have left players a magnificent pass by Kim Little.

:25:39. > :25:41.

:25:41. > :25:44.That is the pass of the game. Look at Ellen White on the edge of the

:25:44. > :25:52.six yard area. Just waiting for the ball to come in. Arsenal have had

:25:52. > :25:57.chances to win this by four or five. The difference is Arsenal go forward

:25:57. > :26:02.with a lot of purpose and energy. What a great ball by Kim Little.

:26:02. > :26:10.Gemma Davison has that speed. She cuts inside and gets a shot of. She

:26:10. > :26:20.does well, Siobhan Chamberlain. But Ellen White was in the middle.

:26:20. > :26:29.

:26:29. > :26:34.comes Yvonne Tracy for Arsenal. And on for Jennifer Beattie. You might

:26:34. > :26:39.remember this girl 's face, where you have seen her before. She is 17.

:26:39. > :26:43.She made her debut last week against Bristol Academy. She is an England

:26:43. > :26:49.international. I take you back nearly 12 months. She was the girl

:26:50. > :26:54.who helped David Beckham take the Olympic torch to the Olympic Stadium

:26:54. > :27:02.for the opening ceremony. They think she will be the next Arsenal star.

:27:02. > :27:06.That is a little bit of pressure. She is the legacy for Arsenal. If

:27:06. > :27:11.she keeps going the way she is, I know they really have high hopes for

:27:11. > :27:15.her. A little bit of pressure for me in the expectation level. They have

:27:15. > :27:23.got her involved in a cup final. Not for long, but they have gotten

:27:23. > :27:27.involved in it. This will be good experience because she will

:27:27. > :27:36.hopefully get to the final whistle with a winning feeling and that is

:27:36. > :27:41.great experience. Emma Byrne had an uncomfortable few moments in the

:27:41. > :27:51.first half, much better in the second. Look at this break. Gemma

:27:51. > :27:54.

:27:54. > :28:01.Davison, plays it back. Good save. Emma White scores. And Arsenal have

:28:01. > :28:10.wrapped it up the binge stoppage time. -- deep in stoppage time.

:28:10. > :28:18.Bristol have fought doggedly throughout. From Boxster broke, --

:28:18. > :28:22.from box to box, they have broken extremely well. Good save by Siobhan

:28:22. > :28:24.Chamberlain but a great finish by Ellen White. I feel sorry for

:28:24. > :28:34.Siobhan Chamberlain, she did everything she could to keep that

:28:34. > :28:37.

:28:37. > :28:41.out. Two years ago, they were beaten by Arsenal 2-L. Ellen White has put

:28:41. > :28:45.the result beyond doubt today. Injuries haven't really helped

:28:45. > :28:52.Bristol. They needed Laura Del Rio on the pitch from the start. That is

:28:52. > :28:56.a fine save. They are denied a consolation goal by Emma Byrne.

:28:56. > :29:02.is really unlucky. Great play by Laura Del Rio. I think that she took

:29:03. > :29:07.the shot so early, it surprised Emma Byrne. She managed to put the ball

:29:07. > :29:14.past the post but a great early strike. She denied the former

:29:14. > :29:24.Arsenal teenager there. She was not under great pressure there but she

:29:24. > :29:27.

:29:27. > :29:32.another corner kick. I think Laura Del Rio has come on and show what a

:29:32. > :29:35.player she is in different parts of the pitch. She created an

:29:35. > :29:41.opportunity that could have led to a goal. I don't know why she wasn't on

:29:41. > :29:47.from the start. Obviously one of their better players. Pressure on

:29:47. > :29:53.the goalkeeper. Laura Del Rio's shot is blocked. Arsenal keep it out.

:29:54. > :29:57.Plenty of bodies in there. I think it was just the sheer volume of

:29:57. > :30:02.bodies. It didn't fall kindly enough for any of the Bristol layers. That

:30:03. > :30:08.was Jaz Matthews. It didn't fall for her in the end. Good defending by

:30:08. > :30:18.Arsenal. They are adamant they are going to keep this clean sheet. They

:30:18. > :30:18.

:30:18. > :31:22.Apology for the loss of subtitles for 40 seconds

:31:22. > :31:32.have done their homework at set steam. Shelley Kerr wants her

:31:32. > :31:50.

:31:50. > :31:56.is a first trophy for Shelley Kerr. There were plenty of chances to make

:31:56. > :32:06.the score more emphatic against the Bristol Academy side. In terms of

:32:06. > :32:08.

:32:08. > :32:16.experience, Arsenal had it all. It could be the ending of an era. It is

:32:16. > :32:22.what Shelley Kerr needed to get a trophy. Normal service is resumed.

:32:22. > :32:28.She has her first. And she will be really pleased. It was key for her

:32:28. > :32:31.to get back today. To come in as a new manager and keep going. But

:32:31. > :32:37.Bristol gave it a good go. Conceding early does not help anything and

:32:37. > :32:42.they kept it 1-0 until half-time but Arsenal had to have this performance

:32:42. > :32:49.because they knew they had not started the season too well. They

:32:49. > :32:52.knew this was their true few to lose. The injury to Staniforth

:32:52. > :33:02.knocked something out of the Bristol girls and they also had to change

:33:02. > :33:03.

:33:03. > :33:13.their shape. OK, let's go down to the pitch and speak to two of the

:33:13. > :33:17.

:33:17. > :33:23.seemed to settle nerves. Yes, we said we wanted to start quickly and

:33:23. > :33:29.we did that. I think we have proved a few people wrong. We have had a

:33:29. > :33:36.tough few weeks. We have got the FA Cup back. Jordan Nobbs, you had an

:33:36. > :33:45.excellent game. Day thank you. All of the girls worked hard. Towards

:33:45. > :33:49.the end it got a little bit scrappy. What a week you have had. You were

:33:49. > :33:56.at Buckingham Palace just a few days ago. Does this seem real now?

:33:56. > :34:01.been a great week. It was great to visit the Queen but to win the FA

:34:01. > :34:07.Cup is what we want to play football for. And new manager in place. How

:34:07. > :34:12.has that been for both of you? Great. Obviously, we have just won

:34:12. > :34:18.the FA Cup, we got in the final of the Champions League and we are

:34:18. > :34:23.still in the Continental cup so it has been a great season. This bottle

:34:23. > :34:29.of champagne for Jordan now, who is the player of the match.

:34:29. > :34:35.Congratulations. She was excellent, and of course

:34:35. > :34:39.Steph Houghton got off to the best possible start, and a smiling coach

:34:39. > :34:47.there will be relieved. Terrific from Arsenal over the 90 minutes.

:34:47. > :34:51.Yes. Stephanie is a former team mate of mine. I have seen what she has

:34:51. > :34:59.gone through and now she is going to lift the FA Cup as captain of

:34:59. > :35:09.Arsenal Ladies. A very good save at the end just to July Bristol that

:35:09. > :35:10.

:35:10. > :35:18.consolation goal. -- just to deny. Beattie comes in and plays where

:35:18. > :35:28.they need her, Arsenal Ladies. She did very well. Let's hear from the

:35:28. > :35:33.

:35:33. > :35:37.victorious manager, Shelley Kerr. I know that we have been so

:35:37. > :35:40.successful and expectations are really high, so for me, it is all

:35:40. > :35:44.about the players at this moment in time. I thought they were

:35:44. > :35:50.magnificent today. What did you say to them going into this game to

:35:50. > :35:55.settle the nerves? I just said to them to relax. Sometimes you just

:35:55. > :36:01.need to be calm and patient. In the end we weren't quite comfortably.

:36:01. > :36:07.And a word about restore Academy? They are a really tough team. They

:36:07. > :36:11.are sitting at the top of the table. I thought at times they caused us

:36:11. > :36:16.some problems today. So they played their part today. Do you feel this

:36:16. > :36:22.is the next page in Arsenal's development, continuing an another

:36:22. > :36:26.trophy? Yes. We know that other teams have strengthened this year

:36:26. > :36:32.but that is what makes it really competitive, and when you are at the

:36:32. > :36:42.top level, that is what you want as a player and a coach, competition.

:36:42. > :36:44.

:36:45. > :36:51.Thank you. Go and get your medal. I do not think that Arsenal will be

:36:51. > :36:58.dominant this season. Liverpool are very strong. Yes, but that is what

:36:58. > :37:02.we want in women's football. It does not need to be a foregone conclusion

:37:02. > :37:07.that everyone plays and Arsenal wins. They have earned it today.

:37:07. > :37:12.They used their experience. They were patient, they knew they were

:37:12. > :37:18.the better team as they went along and they could win it. Bristol did

:37:18. > :37:24.not have del Rio fit. They lost Staniforth through an injury. And

:37:24. > :37:28.yet they still put in a performance which I think they can be proud of.

:37:28. > :37:35.The goalkeeper, Chamberlain, was excellent. Rose was on top form as

:37:35. > :37:38.well. Yes. Bristol have good players. They did not start how they

:37:38. > :37:48.wanted and it affected them for a bit. Injuries have do affect you as

:37:48. > :37:54.well. You are 18 unit. Restore will look back and think, should I, would

:37:54. > :37:58.I... ? But they gave it a good bowl and they made Arsenal work for it.

:37:58. > :38:06.It is a competition they first won in 1993, beating the Doncaster

:38:06. > :38:16.Belles. Their 13th final at Doncaster, they pick it up again.

:38:16. > :38:16.

:38:16. > :38:26.The competition was first won by Southampton in 1991. The FA took

:38:26. > :38:34.direct control in 1993. The semipro teams have really dominated. She had

:38:34. > :38:41.a great game. They are one of the most dominant teams in European

:38:41. > :38:45.football. Yankey so please to be year after her hamstring problems.

:38:45. > :38:51.Really delighted to have played a full role. They could have had more.

:38:51. > :38:56.They could have had... Bristol threw caution to the wind. They could have

:38:56. > :39:03.had another three or four macro. Yes, when Arsenal attacked they were

:39:03. > :39:10.a lot stronger and dominant. Bristol were batted throughout the game.

:39:10. > :39:16.Whether that laid a part in it or not... Arsenal always create chances

:39:16. > :39:23.because they have good players. family affair here today. Kids in

:39:23. > :39:32.the crowd, which is good to see. The 150th anniversary celebrations for

:39:32. > :39:40.the FA. The officials did very well. Best possible sort of referee. They

:39:40. > :39:47.did not mention her -- we did not mention her at all. She did

:39:47. > :39:57.extremely well, letting the game flow. She might have but one of the

:39:57. > :40:07.Bristol players, when she let it go and just gave a free kick. On any

:40:07. > :40:13.

:40:13. > :40:17.final occasion, for every winner there has to be a loser. A big thing

:40:17. > :40:24.here is the hope that Lucy Staniforth can go up. She is at

:40:24. > :40:29.least smiling. Yes, we were worried for her when she went down and was

:40:29. > :40:37.in so much pain. She has her leg in a brace but she is going to go up

:40:37. > :40:44.there with her team. She will need a scam but if she had a torn crucial

:40:44. > :40:50.ligament, they would have taken her to hospital. The Bristol players all

:40:50. > :40:54.go through. I am sure her day will come. Yes, I have been in that

:40:54. > :41:04.line, where the losers just want to get off the pitch. It is a massive

:41:04. > :41:04.

:41:04. > :41:14.occasion. Bristol Academy are an upwardly progressive club. This

:41:14. > :41:24.bright young manager, Mark Sampson. That is what it is all about. The

:41:24. > :41:38.

:41:38. > :41:48.Here is the goalkeeper. Rachel Yankey played so well in there. So

:41:48. > :41:56.

:41:56. > :42:01.did Scott. White really deserved that goal late on. Yes, she worked

:42:01. > :42:05.really hard. There was a couple of times she could have played in to

:42:05. > :42:12.get an opportunity on goal and it eventually happened. She was on the

:42:12. > :42:18.spot to drive it home. And up will come the captain, who set the ball

:42:18. > :42:22.rolling after a minute and 23 seconds, with the first goal. Steph

:42:22. > :42:29.Houghton, the first goal up, to receive the FA Cup.

:42:29. > :42:35.CHEERING The Arsenal men have been a long

:42:35. > :42:42.while without silverware. The Arsenal Ladies of the FA Cup winners

:42:42. > :42:52.of 2013 and they did it in style. Congratulations to them. The winners

:42:52. > :42:52.

:42:52. > :42:57.of the FA women's cup 2013. Yes, a fantastic performance. The injured

:42:57. > :43:04.captain could not be on the bench but Steph captained in her absence

:43:04. > :43:08.and lifted the trophy. Big summer ahead, with the European

:43:08. > :43:16.Championships coming up as well, life on the BBC. They have done

:43:16. > :43:24.their job and done it well today. Arsenal victorious.

:43:24. > :43:28.JACQUI OATLEY: This is something we have seen many times over the years.

:43:28. > :43:36.It always seems to be Arsenal Ladies. A deserved 3-0 victory

:43:36. > :43:42.today. Was it the winning mentality, Faye White, that saw them through?

:43:42. > :43:50.Yes, when you look around the changing room and see such

:43:50. > :43:54.experienced players and Olympians, if it is not going well, a soup or

:43:54. > :43:58.start scoring so early just settle the nerves, but I do not think that

:43:58. > :44:04.would have been a problem anyway. Having that experience of winning

:44:04. > :44:09.and knowing how to turn things around, or when people are doubting

:44:09. > :44:15.you, after the 4-0 loss against Liverpool, you come out and perform

:44:15. > :44:19.like that without confidence and belief. Let's have a look at how

:44:19. > :44:26.Arsenal won the FA Cup today. We saw questions and answers on Monday

:44:26. > :44:30.night's preview show between Siobhan Chamberlain and Steph Houghton. We

:44:30. > :44:40.knew that Houghton wanted to beat her but we did not expect it to be

:44:40. > :44:43.

:44:43. > :44:53.defend against but you have to know where the runners are and you have

:44:53. > :44:54.

:44:55. > :45:03.to deal with it. Bristol tried to fight their way into the game.

:45:03. > :45:08.ball has got into Gemma's pass. Jordan has done really well. The

:45:08. > :45:11.smallest player on the pitch. She just keep her eye on the ball, which

:45:11. > :45:18.is the important thing. When it comes over someone's head in front

:45:18. > :45:28.of you is can be distracting. five foot two. You cannot get away

:45:28. > :45:39.

:45:39. > :45:49.Chamberlain the unfortunate player to be on the receiving end of all of

:45:49. > :45:51.

:45:51. > :45:55.really turn up today. We have been playing really well in the build-up

:45:55. > :46:00.to this. I think a lot of players didn't show up and we didn't perform

:46:00. > :46:04.as well as we can. If you come off the pitch knowing you gave your all

:46:04. > :46:08.then it is not so hard to take. pulled off a couple of really good

:46:08. > :46:12.saves in the first half. We knew that we had not played to our best

:46:12. > :46:16.and we knew we could give a lot more. Unfortunately, we needed that

:46:16. > :46:20.goal to kick-start our game and it never really came. And then they

:46:20. > :46:26.went on to score a couple more. are known as being a tough team to

:46:26. > :46:29.break down and the way that you conceded is frustrating. Yes, we

:46:29. > :46:39.need to learn from that and make sure it does that happen when we

:46:39. > :46:39.

:46:39. > :46:46.play them on Thursday in the league. Yes, I have listened to a few

:46:46. > :46:51.interviews. Conceding within 90 seconds, the occasion may have got

:46:51. > :46:55.to them a little bit. The formation they were not used to it. But they

:46:55. > :46:59.did come back into the game and I think Arsenal did deserve to win,

:46:59. > :47:03.everyone sort of agrees with that but I think they did create chances

:47:03. > :47:06.and we all said that if Laura Del Rio had been fit, could it have been

:47:06. > :47:13.a different game? We saw the 15 minutes that she played that she did

:47:13. > :47:18.created a lot of things. I don't know. An experience they will learn

:47:18. > :47:24.from? Definitely. It just shows that Arsenal are still the team to be

:47:24. > :47:29.done they are not going anywhere. think that just about sums it up.

:47:29. > :47:34.The next women's football show will be on Monday the 8th of July on BBC

:47:34. > :47:41.Two. We will be looking forward to Euro 2013. Coverage of which starts

:47:41. > :47:44.on Wednesday the 10th of July, two days later. Sweden the hosts against

:47:44. > :47:50.Denmark. And in just under three weeks, the Confederations Cup kicks

:47:50. > :47:55.off in Brazil. And if that wasn't enough, there is still more football
