:00:38. > :00:54.Once I was red, now I'm blue. Once I was blue, then red, then blue, now

:00:55. > :01:05.I'm red. I lifted the cup with them. And us. I won two titles and the

:01:06. > :01:12.double. In one season with them. We won the lot. We are the most

:01:13. > :01:24.successful club in the land. We are the holders. Double winners.

:01:25. > :01:35.History. Champions. Red. Blue. North London. West London. Arsenal.

:01:36. > :01:39.Chelsea. The two best teams in the capital meet at the National Stadium

:01:40. > :01:43.for the very first time. Holders Chelsea after their victory against

:01:44. > :01:47.Notts County last year, the first ever at Wembley, against Arsenal,

:01:48. > :01:51.the most successful club in the history of the competition, looking

:01:52. > :01:58.to regain the trippy their last won two years ago. 30,000 were here for

:01:59. > :02:04.last year -- with a trophy. We are expecting more this afternoon. The

:02:05. > :02:07.last two names on the trophy go head-to-head, Arsenal Ladies,

:02:08. > :02:12.historic giant of women's football, trying to wrestle the cup back from

:02:13. > :02:18.last season's double winners, Chelsea Ladies. It promises to be

:02:19. > :02:20.quite a final. And with me to enjoy it, two players who know exactly

:02:21. > :02:27.what it's like to lift the famous old trophy, Rachel Brown, who was

:02:28. > :02:34.goalkeeper when Everton won in 2010, the only time Arsenal have lost an

:02:35. > :02:38.FA Cup final. They have won it an incredible 13 times thanks partly to

:02:39. > :02:45.Rachel Yankey, winning nine times with Arsenal and twice with Fulham,

:02:46. > :02:50.11 winners medals. Currently on loan at Notts County. That is a

:02:51. > :02:56.ridiculous number of medals. What is it like to get your hands on that,

:02:57. > :03:02.particularly in front of the Arsenal players? Being just want it made it

:03:03. > :03:07.extra special. It is the pinnacle of your career to play in the FA Cup

:03:08. > :03:10.final, especially in front of wonderful crowd at Wembley. For me

:03:11. > :03:17.to get my hands on the trophy after trying a number of times was a

:03:18. > :03:21.highlight of my career. 11th winners medals is ridiculous! Are they

:03:22. > :03:26.around the house in different bedrooms? I have a cabinet. It is

:03:27. > :03:31.just special to play in this occasion. I did not get to do it

:03:32. > :03:36.here, this is fantastic, and both teams will have a fantastic day and

:03:37. > :03:42.whoever wins will remember it. I hope you have a security guard on

:03:43. > :03:45.that Cabinet! But it could go to extra time and penalties this

:03:46. > :03:50.afternoon but whatever happens, one of these teams will make the short

:03:51. > :03:51.journey home with the cup. Sue Smith has been assessing the strengths of

:03:52. > :04:00.each team. It has been a time of great change

:04:01. > :04:04.at Chelsea, after years building they are now double winners and one

:04:05. > :04:10.thing to pinpoint is ever-changing front four. They play another ten in

:04:11. > :04:19.the hole with a rotating three in front.

:04:20. > :04:27.The Korean, Ji come is the number ten, one of the best in that

:04:28. > :04:33.position. Eni Aluko template up top, Gemma Davison on the right and Karen

:04:34. > :04:38.Carney on the left. Fran Kirby can be found in any one of those front

:04:39. > :04:39.three roles. Their selection is fluid and versatile, like their

:04:40. > :04:48.style. Causing problems for the opposition

:04:49. > :04:51.has never been a problem for Chelsea but perhaps their shortcomings have

:04:52. > :04:57.been when they have played a more physical team and got bullied a

:04:58. > :05:00.little bit, but not any more. Millie Bright provide steel in the middle,

:05:01. > :05:05.an immense athlete. I played with her at Doncaster and she has

:05:06. > :05:09.developed so much since then, her all-round game has improved and I

:05:10. > :05:13.think she is a future England international. Along with Drew

:05:14. > :05:17.Spence and Katie Chapman, they are the enforcers and allow the front

:05:18. > :05:21.four to go forward and play. One thing that shines through is how

:05:22. > :05:25.much the players really enjoy playing for their manager. One

:05:26. > :05:29.headache for Emma Hayes is that teams can get at them and we have

:05:30. > :05:37.seen Liverpool scoring three goals, albeit in a 6-3 defeat today.

:05:38. > :05:46.Throughout my playing career come Arsenal have always dominated. 14

:05:47. > :05:51.league titles, 13 FA cups. Not so much recently. But they do have a

:05:52. > :05:57.wealth of experience in their squad. In their defence they have Casey

:05:58. > :06:03.Stoney and Alex Scott, over 200 England caps between them. It is a

:06:04. > :06:07.similar story in midfield with Fara Williams and Jordan Nobbs, both with

:06:08. > :06:11.loads of international experience, and the luxury of a world-class

:06:12. > :06:15.player like Kelly Smith as a coach and occasionally off the bench. The

:06:16. > :06:20.manager has also added a wealth of international experience, goalkeeper

:06:21. > :06:26.van Veenendahl, centre forward van de Donk and Henning at centre-half.

:06:27. > :06:30.The problem he has is trying to fit all of those quality players into a

:06:31. > :06:35.starting 11th and there has been a lot of chopping and changing this

:06:36. > :06:40.season and a lack of consistency -- 11. This is why it is so difficult

:06:41. > :06:44.to predict. Both teams know each other so well. Chelsea started the

:06:45. > :06:50.season better but it is a cup final and anything can happen. STUDIO: It

:06:51. > :06:56.can indeed and that is what makes it so exciting. This is the team that

:06:57. > :07:03.the Arsenal boss Pedro Losa has selected. He has gone for Casey

:07:04. > :07:09.Stoney, Fara Williams and Kelly Smith, all starting. Do you think

:07:10. > :07:15.that is specifically because it is a huge stage and you need that

:07:16. > :07:18.experience? Definitely, you need those big players who are used to

:07:19. > :07:23.playing in this environment, the atmosphere, and they have to control

:07:24. > :07:27.their emotions. Those are the players you want in your team and

:07:28. > :07:30.through the spine as well, big players like Kelly Smith who can

:07:31. > :07:38.come out and win a game and show what they are about. Any surprising

:07:39. > :07:43.omissions? Jemma Rose has been dropped having played most of the

:07:44. > :07:48.season so far and she is not even on the bench. Henning comes in. That

:07:49. > :07:52.was a surprise although Jemma Rose as not quite been in form but it's

:07:53. > :07:57.great to see the likes of Kelly Smith back in there, and England

:07:58. > :08:01.legend. And an Arsenal legend. She has won the cup before and will be

:08:02. > :08:03.pulling the strings to Dave for them. Let's have a look at the

:08:04. > :08:13.Chelsea team. They have an embarrassment of

:08:14. > :08:18.riches. Look at the bench, Eni Aluko, Claire Rafferty. She has gone

:08:19. > :08:23.for Spence and Chapman in midfield, a huge amount of strength. A

:08:24. > :08:29.platform for the attacking players. Definitely. It is such a front four,

:08:30. > :08:35.with such power, to leave out Eni Aluko, she could get into any team.

:08:36. > :08:39.But I think Gemma Davison will worry defenders and that is possibly why,

:08:40. > :08:45.if it was Eni Aluko and Gemma Davison, that is why Gemma Davison

:08:46. > :08:51.gets the nod. The key players for you? Katie Chapman and Drew Spence

:08:52. > :08:56.have been like a brick wall in midfield and they can almost

:08:57. > :09:00.nullified what Arsenal will bring. They are holding midfielders but

:09:01. > :09:04.have an attacking element so they will be a real force that Arsenal

:09:05. > :09:08.will have to get through. They are a strong part of it but it is the

:09:09. > :09:14.attacking force of Chelsea in that front four that Arsenal will be more

:09:15. > :09:16.worried about than anything. As we alluded to come Arsenal at the

:09:17. > :09:22.experience and one of the greats of the game to call upon. Kelly Smith

:09:23. > :09:25.has been talking to us. Starting in yet another cup final but here at

:09:26. > :09:30.Wembley and against local rivals Chelsea, it does not get much

:09:31. > :09:35.bigger? This one is a bit special, at Wembley, and doing it for the

:09:36. > :09:38.club I supported as a kid and the only team I played for in England.

:09:39. > :09:42.It is a massive occasion for myself and my family and the club. You have

:09:43. > :09:47.played here before, what is your advice to the girls in the changing

:09:48. > :09:52.rooms who have not been in this situation? It's just another game,

:09:53. > :09:56.yes, it's in Wembley but we have played this game are hundreds of

:09:57. > :10:00.times. There is expectation with the stadium and fans but it is still a

:10:01. > :10:05.game of football. Our preparation has been fantastic, really on it and

:10:06. > :10:10.focused and ready to pick up the trophy. Do the nerves ever go away?

:10:11. > :10:16.I still have them now, but it's good nurse, a bit of the belly rumbling.

:10:17. > :10:20.-- good nerves. But when you get out and soak up the sun and you can see

:10:21. > :10:26.where your family are sitting and you can enjoy the occasion. Best of

:10:27. > :10:31.luck. If the great Kelly Smith is nervous it is OK for the younger

:10:32. > :10:34.ones to have some nerves. You played with her for so many years with

:10:35. > :10:41.England and Arsenal, what is she like on and off the pitch? Off the

:10:42. > :10:47.pitch she is quite shy and humble but on the pitch she is a De Menezes

:10:48. > :10:55.if Kelly sees red, she has that aggression -- she is a demon! I

:10:56. > :11:02.think she can switch and turn a game which is what I wasn't surprised to

:11:03. > :11:07.see she was starting. She came on in the Birmingham game and changed the

:11:08. > :11:11.FA Cup and kept them in it, and in the Notts County game she was their

:11:12. > :11:15.best player and I think she has to play. When Kelly Smith plays welcome

:11:16. > :11:22.it lists the team and get the rest playing well. And it will lift the

:11:23. > :11:25.fans. Chelsea's longest serving player is Claire Rafferty who is now

:11:26. > :11:29.in her 10th season at the club and she has come back after suffering

:11:30. > :11:31.three cruciate knee ligament injuries. She told me she is now

:11:32. > :11:45.keen to make up for lost time. This is not a bad setup. A beautiful

:11:46. > :11:52.training facility, your own women's training pitch currently being mown.

:11:53. > :11:58.The sun is shining. A far cry from when you started? Yeah, we used to

:11:59. > :12:03.be over at the back, eight o'clock at night every Tuesday and Thursday

:12:04. > :12:06.and now we are in everyday, such a different environment. Things have

:12:07. > :12:11.changed since John Terry was helping you out, though he is still very

:12:12. > :12:17.supportive. He is still the chairman, the president I think. He

:12:18. > :12:22.did bail us out at one stage about five or six years ago when we were

:12:23. > :12:27.struggling with kit and stuff and that went hand-in-hand with us being

:12:28. > :12:32.near the bottom of the league. What kind of match can we expect? I think

:12:33. > :12:40.it will be close and hopefully we can break them down, get Ji on the

:12:41. > :12:47.ball, our magician. We will see, I don't want to... Karen Carney, you

:12:48. > :12:54.played against her in the 2012 FA Cup final, dare I mention the

:12:55. > :12:59.penalties and everything. Everybody forgets about that one. We were

:13:00. > :13:04.nowhere near as good as we are now then. We came really close, I think

:13:05. > :13:11.I missed a penalty. I wasn't going to mention it! But to win it last

:13:12. > :13:18.year, and then the league, having been at the club for so long, I felt

:13:19. > :13:22.a bit rewarded for my patients and just released a look back in my

:13:23. > :13:26.career and say that at least I won the FA Cup and the league and a

:13:27. > :13:31.bronze medal at the World Cup! It has been an agreeable time for you.

:13:32. > :13:34.Even more so bearing in mind you have had three ACL injuries. Not

:13:35. > :13:39.many have come back to play better than ever on that. I think I hold

:13:40. > :13:45.the record for the most amount of ACLs. The silver lining was that I

:13:46. > :13:51.did them at a young age so I could bounce back. What drove me on was

:13:52. > :13:54.the fact that I had not won anything yet or achieved anything. And you

:13:55. > :14:01.have a working life outside of football. I work part-time for

:14:02. > :14:06.Deutsche Bank. I am probably in want of twice a week and work from home

:14:07. > :14:09.in the afternoons, and currently an analyst. Talk this through a day in

:14:10. > :14:16.your working life last year compared to this year. Last season I used to

:14:17. > :14:20.get the trading at about 930, I used to run off the pitch and be in the

:14:21. > :14:28.office for about 130. It was pretty full on. And this season it is

:14:29. > :14:33.totally different. The increase in professionalism, something has to

:14:34. > :14:36.give. They are so supportive with where I'm at. What would you like to

:14:37. > :14:42.achieve after you have finished your career? I don't know, obviously

:14:43. > :14:46.continue in the same line in investment banking and to try to

:14:47. > :14:50.work my way up the ladder up with that. Not everybody will make it to

:14:51. > :14:54.the highest level so you need something to fall back on. It's

:14:55. > :14:58.going all right at the moment. It's going well!

:14:59. > :15:07.Claire Rafferty is a busy lady, but she is having a bit of a rest today,

:15:08. > :15:11.on the bench. What are your thoughts? I'm not sure about that

:15:12. > :15:16.because for me, she is one of the first names on the team sheet for

:15:17. > :15:20.Chelsea, and for England as well. Bringing in the Portuguese

:15:21. > :15:23.international Ana Borges, who not necessarily a out-and-out defender,

:15:24. > :15:30.it is a bit of a strange one. I don't think Claire Rafferty has done

:15:31. > :15:33.anything to let down Chelsea. I have my suspicions that there might be a

:15:34. > :15:40.little bit of an injury with Claire Rafferty. We shall see. Chelsea have

:15:41. > :15:46.listed the league and cup double. Emma Hayes is one of several former

:15:47. > :15:51.Arsenal employees now at Chelsea. Earlier, she spoke to Jo. You must

:15:52. > :15:55.have such great memories from last year, so how hungry are you and the

:15:56. > :16:02.team to keep the trophy? Last year, it feels like yesterday. That is how

:16:03. > :16:06.Familia Wembley has become for us. We will always compete for trophies,

:16:07. > :16:11.the hardest decision I have to make is naming the team, disappointing

:16:12. > :16:14.people on the big occasion. But Chelsea will expect to content for

:16:15. > :16:20.trophies across the season. Is it fair to say that you are favourites

:16:21. > :16:25.today? Anybody involved in cup competitions knows there is no such

:16:26. > :16:27.thing. It is a one-off game, it is a London derby, and Arsenal have

:16:28. > :16:35.quality throughout the squad. No favourites. The team which gets

:16:36. > :16:39.strategy right usually wins. The crowd will be an advantage for you

:16:40. > :16:47.today? I think we know how to manage the occasion, which is an advantage,

:16:48. > :16:51.I think. It is everybody's dream to play on this pitch. Be on that I

:16:52. > :16:56.think there will be nothing to separate the teams. I hope it is a

:16:57. > :17:01.good affair for the neutrals and the fans because we will have a record

:17:02. > :17:08.crowd today, which really big for women's football. Fran Kirby was

:17:09. > :17:11.ineligible last year, having signed from Reading that season. How much

:17:12. > :17:17.of an influence would you expect her to have? I think a massive influence

:17:18. > :17:21.in this game. Probably because we did not start the best, and she has

:17:22. > :17:27.been on the bench, she has not started as much as we would expect.

:17:28. > :17:30.But she has come into her own in the latter stages. She is a tricky

:17:31. > :17:37.player, seekh kebabs the ball under such good close control, and she

:17:38. > :17:41.works so hard. She is so passionate, and on an occasion like this, if you

:17:42. > :17:48.are the Arsenal back four, you have got to be worried. They will have

:17:49. > :17:56.seen her playing for England, they see her every week - a tricky,

:17:57. > :18:00.clever player? Yes, dubbed the mini Messi by Mark Sampson. She lives up

:18:01. > :18:06.to that, in a lot of respects. She will be thrilled to be starting in

:18:07. > :18:09.this massive occasion. She has only recently come into the framework on

:18:10. > :18:13.the international level, having moved from Reading. She will be

:18:14. > :18:19.exciting for today but also looking ahead over the next ten years,

:18:20. > :18:25.hopefully. Arsenal have struggled to find a consistent starting XI this

:18:26. > :18:29.season, but Danielle Carter has been ever present in the league. She made

:18:30. > :18:34.her England debut in September and she also made it into the England

:18:35. > :18:38.team of the year. No wonder, then, that we told Sue Smith to yet

:18:39. > :18:52.Carter. How excited are you about the FA Cup

:18:53. > :18:57.Final? Definitely, it's going be a great occasion. Two London teams at

:18:58. > :19:00.Wembley. It's going to be an historical event. Have you been to

:19:01. > :19:07.Wembley before? To watch but not to play. Talk about, I know you have

:19:08. > :19:11.been to FA Cup finals before... The most recent one, 2014, we won, it

:19:12. > :19:17.was great. Everybody was enjoying it. That is what we have got to

:19:18. > :19:21.replicate. But I have also been on the losing side, against Everton.

:19:22. > :19:27.What do you think of Chelsea, your opponents? Obviously, we are massive

:19:28. > :19:31.rivals. A lot of them are ex-Arsenal players, which is quite annoying.

:19:32. > :19:35.But we just want to win. I remember hearing you say about Katie Chapman

:19:36. > :19:43.being one of your favourite players to play alongside - is she still one

:19:44. > :19:48.of your mates? I still respect her a lot, but when she's not on my team,

:19:49. > :19:53.she is just another sport. I still respect her, but on the pitch, it

:19:54. > :19:56.doesn't matter any more. So, 2016, will it be your breakthrough season

:19:57. > :20:02.for England? I would like to think so. Obviously, I have got one cap

:20:03. > :20:07.now and I just want to get more and more. I want to be in contention to

:20:08. > :20:13.play for England, fingers crossed, if I keep performing the way I have

:20:14. > :20:17.been. Obviously, in your single cap, you got a hat-trick. I could not

:20:18. > :20:24.have asked for anything but, obviously! As a player, I am still

:20:25. > :20:28.young, with a lot of things to work on. Hopefully I will get another

:20:29. > :20:32.call up soon. And obviously, at Wembley, with loads of people coming

:20:33. > :20:38.to watch? I personally have a lot of family. My family is massive. I

:20:39. > :20:45.think it totals up to about 70 adults and 30-odd children! Flags

:20:46. > :20:50.and banners?! I hope not! But hopefully it will be a good game for

:20:51. > :20:54.them to see. I think she was actually serious. I think she has

:20:55. > :21:00.got a hundred members of her family! It would not surprise me! I do not

:21:01. > :21:05.even know 100 people! You know her really well from your time at

:21:06. > :21:11.Arsenal - what sort of person is the on and off the pitch? Of the pitch,

:21:12. > :21:15.she is very down-to-earth, just a nice kid. And she wants to learn,

:21:16. > :21:21.which is one of the nice things. Everybody wants to help her. On the

:21:22. > :21:28.pitch, she has got power, she has got pace. I think she needs to be

:21:29. > :21:34.more clinical and I think. But in front of a, she wants to get more

:21:35. > :21:38.goals. She wants to get in good goal-scoring positions. -- in front

:21:39. > :21:44.of goal. You cannot teach that grit and determination. That is why,

:21:45. > :21:47.something like this, cup finals, she played well on previous occasions,

:21:48. > :21:53.against you guys are! She puts on a show. And today she needs to go out

:21:54. > :21:58.and really show who Danielle Carter is, and what she can do. She was

:21:59. > :22:06.outstanding couple of years ago, in the MK Dons final, sorry, Rachel,

:22:07. > :22:12.against Everton! They have got an injury today to Fahey, so how do you

:22:13. > :22:15.think Carter will get on? Yes, Millie Bright playing out of

:22:16. > :22:20.position, I think Danielle Carter's eyes will have lit up when they saw

:22:21. > :22:23.that Millie Bright was playing out of position. The same for the front

:22:24. > :22:28.three of Arsenal as a whole, I think. It will give them an extra

:22:29. > :22:33.boost, if they needed it. That kind of matchup would really favour

:22:34. > :22:40.Danielle Carter, with respect to the others. We think there will be about

:22:41. > :22:44.35,000 or so people at Wembley Stadium today. It is weird seeing

:22:45. > :22:51.Arsenal in a cup final and potentially being the underdogs. So

:22:52. > :22:55.many times after the last couple of decades, we have expected you lot,

:22:56. > :23:00.Rachel Yankey, to walk over the opposition. Are they underdogs

:23:01. > :23:05.today? I think they are, yes, on form. Arsenal have not quite

:23:06. > :23:09.clicked. I think there is nothing better than a cup final to change

:23:10. > :23:14.things around. The Arsenal players, maybe this is the little bit of

:23:15. > :23:17.pressure which... And it is pressure, every cup final, people

:23:18. > :23:22.have expected us to win. That pressure is now on Chelsea, so let's

:23:23. > :23:26.see how they handle it. Absolutely fabulous. The teams are about to

:23:27. > :23:31.walk out at, which are stadium. Before they do, here are a couple of

:23:32. > :23:38.good luck messages from familiar faces. Good luck, Arsenal Ladies,

:23:39. > :23:47.hope you can finish the job of and hopefully come back with the cup.

:23:48. > :23:54.I'm going to watch closely. So, let them give us a lot of enjoyment.

:23:55. > :24:03.Welcome to our coverage. We are all set for the 2016 SSE Women's Fa Cup

:24:04. > :24:08.Final. To talk us through it, Sue Smith, twice a cup finalist with

:24:09. > :24:15.Leeds, and Jonathan Pearce. Thank you very much. Wembley in the

:24:16. > :24:19.sunshine, always a special. It has been billed as the biggest women's

:24:20. > :24:27.cup final ever. It started with the preliminary round in September,

:24:28. > :24:38.Redcar winning. And it culminates here today, a record crowd. Here

:24:39. > :24:43.they come. Blue and red, Arsenal, the greatest side in the history of

:24:44. > :24:48.the competition. Their 15th final, they have lost just one. Chelsea,

:24:49. > :24:53.the holders. Beat Arsenal in the league just 23 days ago. Sue,

:24:54. > :24:59.Arsenal will have to be much improved from that day? They will,

:25:00. > :25:03.but they have changed their team, and for me, for the better. They

:25:04. > :25:06.have got a lot of experience in the line-up. That makes such a

:25:07. > :25:16.difference. But Chelsea were great on that day, and a very good,

:25:17. > :25:23.quality team, going forward. The presentation party are down there

:25:24. > :25:29.ready to meet the players. The FA chair of the women's committee, and

:25:30. > :25:35.the vice-chair, and the director of marketing for the sponsors of this

:25:36. > :25:41.competition, SSE. And there we are seeing a legend in the women's game,

:25:42. > :25:46.Kelly Smith. An FA Cup winner on four occasions. She has scored six

:25:47. > :25:54.goals in finals of the FA Cup. And a proud occasion as well. Alex Scott

:25:55. > :26:01.leading the party down the Arsenal team. What a great day for Alex as

:26:02. > :26:06.well. It really is a great day for Alex. Again, another experienced

:26:07. > :26:12.player, who has played in finals, and she will be looking after the

:26:13. > :26:14.players on and off the pitch. It is important for those younger players

:26:15. > :26:20.who have not experienced anything like this, they need a hand around

:26:21. > :26:25.the shoulder, to tell them, it is just a game of football. Yet it is a

:26:26. > :26:32.big occasion, but relax and go out and do your thing. A smile from the

:26:33. > :26:37.Arsenal captain. Pedro Martinez Losa, who did well at Rayo

:26:38. > :26:43.Vallecano, winning the Spanish cup as manager there. He has had a great

:26:44. > :26:49.record against Chelsea since coming to Arsenal, I can tell you. We saw a

:26:50. > :26:55.brief clumps of the referee there. As the Chelsea captain, Katie

:26:56. > :27:02.Chapman, walks the officials down her line of players. Ji So Yun, who

:27:03. > :27:09.scored the winner last year. She scored a belter against Manchester

:27:10. > :27:16.City in the semifinal to take that game into extra time. She could be

:27:17. > :27:22.absolutely kid today. I think Ji will be key, the whole front four

:27:23. > :27:25.will be key. Fran Kirby as well. But Ji, she likes to get on the ball and

:27:26. > :27:32.make things happen and find those front three. Arsenal will really

:27:33. > :27:35.need to watch her for the entire 90 minutes, because she can do

:27:36. > :27:40.something magic. Chelsea looking to be the fifth club to win

:27:41. > :27:48.back-to-back trophies. They are wearing the new Chelsea kit today.

:27:49. > :28:42.We will hear the anthem... So important a day, for so many

:28:43. > :28:46.reasons, for so many people. The referee, Sarah Garratt, says it is a

:28:47. > :28:53.dream come true for her. Has not quite sunk in properly that surely

:28:54. > :28:59.taking charge of the FA Cup Final. There should be no nerves amongst

:29:00. > :29:04.some senior players out there. Katie Chapman, seven times a winner of the

:29:05. > :29:09.FA Cup. Arsenal, jittery at the back in the league defeat against the

:29:10. > :29:16.Blues last month. And they've made changes. The legendary Kelly Smith,

:29:17. > :29:26.who had a real impact as a sub in that game, starts. 25 FA Cup winning

:29:27. > :29:29.medals in that line-up. The German Henning makes her debut in this

:29:30. > :29:41.competition. Casey Stoney, who won it with Chelsea. Only five survive

:29:42. > :29:47.from the 2014 cup final. Chelsea have two changes from the win at

:29:48. > :29:52.Borehamwood recently. Portuguese international Borges is preferred to

:29:53. > :30:02.Claire Rafferty for tactical reasons. Fran Kirby leading the line

:30:03. > :30:06.after that great semifinal win over Manchester City. Eight of that team

:30:07. > :30:18.started last season's final. Both teams are full internationals

:30:19. > :30:24.and qualities, which are set up for a good final. The two Graco captains

:30:25. > :30:29.know each other well, part of the England team in the World Cup

:30:30. > :30:33.finals. -- the two captains. I wonder if this is the key player,

:30:34. > :30:38.she made a real difference when she came on in the league game, they

:30:39. > :30:43.suddenly had creativity having had none before. Legend is used to

:30:44. > :30:47.easily but she definitely is one. The fact that she has quick players

:30:48. > :30:51.either side of that will help because she will get on the ball and

:30:52. > :30:57.find them, get into the box and she is clinical and has that calm finish

:30:58. > :31:02.about her. I mention her experience, it is so important on occasions like

:31:03. > :31:10.this. It looks as if Arsenal will be lining up to the right-hand side.

:31:11. > :31:15.Such an experienced player in Fara Williams, the most experienced

:31:16. > :31:22.England international ever. Ji, who scored here last season in the

:31:23. > :31:28.final. She had been in splendid form with six goals already in seven

:31:29. > :31:36.games for Chelsea this season. Sarah Garratt, the referee, checks with

:31:37. > :31:41.her assistance. Clouds have puffed up above us but the players are in

:31:42. > :31:49.shade. Arsenal in their famous red and white will kick off to get the

:31:50. > :31:56.2016 SSE Women's FA Cup final underway.

:31:57. > :32:03.Pressing on the edge of the area. They have to go at Chelsea from the

:32:04. > :32:06.start, to get on the front foot because if they allow them to get

:32:07. > :32:13.into a rhythm, it will be Chelsea's day. I think Arsenal know that and

:32:14. > :32:16.you can see it from the attacking line-up. If Chelsea get the first

:32:17. > :32:22.goal, they might be unstoppable. Kelly Smith is leading from the

:32:23. > :32:30.front. Carter with the effort from the mistake. Great effort from Dan

:32:31. > :32:34.Carter. To have the confidence so early, Millie Bright could not

:32:35. > :32:41.control it and straight to she was there. It was not far away. A good

:32:42. > :32:46.start from Arsenal. Dan Carter turned 23 next Wednesday. She has

:32:47. > :32:50.scored three goals in this competition this season, a couple in

:32:51. > :33:01.the semifinal against Sunderland and one against Notts County. Chasing

:33:02. > :33:05.after it is Kelly Smith. She is 37 now, she also works on the coaching

:33:06. > :33:17.side the state at Arsenal, back for her third spell. -- on the coaching

:33:18. > :33:21.side these days. That is gathered by the Chelsea goalkeeper, the very

:33:22. > :33:27.capable Swedish international, Hedvig Lindahl. There is a Dutch

:33:28. > :33:32.international at the other end in Sari van Veenendaal. I think that is

:33:33. > :33:39.something that has really improved in the women's game, the standard of

:33:40. > :33:46.goalkeeping in the WSL. Chelsea have won all seven games this season,

:33:47. > :33:53.scoring 26 goals. Emma Hayes has 13 bang in form. A very approachable

:33:54. > :34:02.and likeable manager -- has her team in form. Chelsea come across as a

:34:03. > :34:06.family unit. Coming down the left and forcing a corner off Hannah

:34:07. > :34:18.Blundell who has had a very good season so far. A positive start for

:34:19. > :34:26.Arsenal. Stoney is up from the back. Three times and FA Cup winner, once

:34:27. > :34:33.with Arsenal, then Chelsea, and then back at Arsenal two seasons ago.

:34:34. > :34:39.That was curled in by Williams who will take most of the set pieces.

:34:40. > :34:47.Mitchell, she was sent off early in the competition. Down the right-hand

:34:48. > :34:53.side, looking for Casey Stoney popping up in the right-wing

:34:54. > :34:59.position. It was her birthday yesterday, she turned 34. She won't

:35:00. > :35:04.be happy about you saying that! She was telling everybody she is 24!

:35:05. > :35:08.This was the chance from Dan Carter. Arsenal have started brightly,

:35:09. > :35:13.especially Carter, always looking to take on the full-back and that is

:35:14. > :35:21.what they need to do. Scott missed did that. Eight of eight cup winner.

:35:22. > :35:26.There is some history at that, with so many of these players swapping

:35:27. > :35:36.sides over the years. Gemma Davison won the cup four times with Arsenal.

:35:37. > :35:40.Bright, makeshift centre-back at the moment because far he is out, but

:35:41. > :35:47.she has performed very well in there and played every minute of the

:35:48. > :35:52.season so far -- Niamh Fahey. She slots in at centre-back very well,

:35:53. > :35:57.strong and physical and good in the tackle. Paul Green, the Chelsea

:35:58. > :36:06.assistant manager, new her from Doncaster, as did U. I do and she

:36:07. > :36:10.has improved so much since then. Her all-round passing and her game,

:36:11. > :36:15.being around good players at Chelsea on a daily basis. And next up for

:36:16. > :36:23.Doncaster is Arsenal in the league. I'm taking notes! Kirby was offside.

:36:24. > :36:30.That was a lovely ball through, Estcourt by the offside flag. Borges

:36:31. > :36:37.getting forward from full-back -- just caught. That was a bad call,

:36:38. > :36:47.she was onside. That is what Fran Kirby can do. She held the run well.

:36:48. > :36:52.And she was onside. 15 goals in 18 games for Chelsea, carrying on the

:36:53. > :36:56.scoring when she left off at Reading. Two years ago she was the

:36:57. > :37:05.highest scoring player in English women's football,

:37:06. > :37:12.second division with red ink. They have since been promoted. Lindahl

:37:13. > :37:17.came out quickly, good vision from Jordan Nobbs in midfield.

:37:18. > :37:25.She will like this pitch because she had such energy, getting from box to

:37:26. > :37:29.box so readily. They call her the Energizer Bunny and that's exactly

:37:30. > :37:35.what she's like. She will get a box to box. I can't remember her dad

:37:36. > :37:41.doing that! I'm sure he will be watching. He was a player around the

:37:42. > :37:48.north-east of England for many years with the likes of Hartlepool. One

:37:49. > :37:50.game against Darlington I think it was, he lost six teeth in a

:37:51. > :38:01.challenge and barely flinched! And talking of fitness, will you be

:38:02. > :38:08.fit for Doncaster? You are coming back from injury. Fingers crossed.

:38:09. > :38:22.I'm back training now. They have had a very young bench up that! You

:38:23. > :38:29.will, what, the Rebel -- treble it? I think so! I have to remember not

:38:30. > :38:33.to tell you anything! That is a throw into Arsenal to be taken by

:38:34. > :38:39.Emma Mitchell who seems to have been around for ever but is only 23. She

:38:40. > :38:44.won the Scottish Cup a couple of times with Glasgow City. Katie

:38:45. > :38:55.Chapman, she will be all over the pitch today, covers so much ground.

:38:56. > :39:01.Twice a scorer in cup finals. Against Doncaster in 2002, an

:39:02. > :39:03.absolute belter for Fulham. And she scored against Sunderland in 2009

:39:04. > :39:17.for Arsenal. Davison. Misplaces the and might

:39:18. > :39:25.have a few confidence problems -- misplaces the pass. She has not

:39:26. > :39:30.played since the league game between the two. It is difficult for Emma

:39:31. > :39:34.Hayes because she had such a very good attacking front four and you

:39:35. > :39:39.even look at the bench, Eni Aluko will be disappointed to be sitting

:39:40. > :39:47.out, and I'm sure we will see her at some point. All good attacking

:39:48. > :39:51.players. Good to say Niamh Fahey on the bench for Chelsea after her

:39:52. > :39:59.fitness problems. That was cleared away by Flaherty. Another

:40:00. > :40:02.international regular this season. Another former winner of the

:40:03. > :40:17.competition, again, for Arsenal. Millie Bright looks to swing it

:40:18. > :40:24.away. A good chase, Karen Carney and Alex Scott, England team-mates.

:40:25. > :40:28.Henning, German international, this is her FA Cup debut. She has played

:40:29. > :40:35.just a couple of games since joining from Paris Saint-Germain. I watched

:40:36. > :40:39.the game against Birmingham where Stoney and Henning played as a

:40:40. > :40:42.centre-half partnership and they played well together. She has huge

:40:43. > :40:52.experience, winning the Champions League three times with Wolfsburg.

:40:53. > :40:57.Strong challenge. That really was determination from Millie Bright on

:40:58. > :41:05.Kelly Smith. She might be a legend, but you're not getting any freedom

:41:06. > :41:10.on this pitch, that was the message. It just ran away from her. Millie

:41:11. > :41:15.Bright assist seen the opportunity to get in a good, physical challenge

:41:16. > :41:19.and that is exactly what she will do. She does not care if she is a

:41:20. > :41:25.legend, this is a game of football and she is there to win the ball.

:41:26. > :41:34.Half a chance here for Chelsea to create with Drew Spence.

:41:35. > :41:39.Fara Williams again, just the sort of pitch for her to play on,

:41:40. > :41:45.immaculate surface and she can pick out those long passes with made up

:41:46. > :41:54.accuracy. Miscued by Millie Bright. And a corner on the right hand side.

:41:55. > :42:02.Fara Williams I think we'll go across and take it. Karen Carney

:42:03. > :42:11.trying to do some organisation. Oshoala will be a danger here.

:42:12. > :42:20.It is going to be Kelly Smith taking it. Towards the far post. Very good

:42:21. > :42:30.header away at the back by Gilly Flaherty. Free for Arsenal. 25 yards

:42:31. > :42:35.out, maybe a bit more. That is a high foot. It is a free kick and

:42:36. > :42:47.this is the range for Fara Williams or Kelly Smith. It could be Fara

:42:48. > :42:54.Williams, part of the only team ever to beat Arsenal in an FA Cup final.

:42:55. > :43:01.And runner up as well couple of times when she was at Charlton.

:43:02. > :43:08.Playing against Chelsea, who she has supported since she was a young

:43:09. > :43:17.girl, and played for. She pitched up and scored a hat-trick in her first

:43:18. > :43:28.game. It will be Fara Williams. Driven. Too high.

:43:29. > :43:34.She is a bit disappointed with herself, she normally gets those on

:43:35. > :43:38.target to at least make the goalkeeper work but she has got

:43:39. > :43:51.underneath the ball too much. Always rising. It is Chelsea who need to

:43:52. > :43:55.settle down again. At the moment, in terms of possession, I think Arsenal

:43:56. > :43:59.have the upper hand and certainly the way that Dan Carter started on

:44:00. > :44:08.the left, they looked the more dangerous with 61% of possession

:44:09. > :44:13.thus far. We only saw Henning went in the World Cup finals but we know

:44:14. > :44:20.she is quick across the ground. She is such a good player, we said

:44:21. > :44:30.legend, but in the draft for the women's game in America in 2009, she

:44:31. > :44:35.was drafted second behind Marta, who is one of the all-time greats. That

:44:36. > :44:41.is unbelievable and all credit to Kelly Smith for that because she is

:44:42. > :44:44.such a valuable play, she can do things other players cannot and even

:44:45. > :44:51.at 37 she is still one of the best players on the pitch. She didn't

:44:52. > :44:58.play in the World Cup last summer. She was working for television. I

:44:59. > :45:09.think you were drunk! LAUGHTER .

:45:10. > :45:28.That very nearly bounced kindly for Arsenal. The shot from range there

:45:29. > :45:33.from the Spanish international. I think Arsenal have really surprised

:45:34. > :45:35.to Chelsea with their tactics, there are formation, probably their

:45:36. > :45:41.personnel as well. They have started really high up the pitch. Every time

:45:42. > :45:45.Chelsea get the ball, you can seemm one or two Arsenal players around

:45:46. > :46:01.them. When they get the ball, they are attacking at such pace.

:46:02. > :46:17.Three spells at the club, and has won 27 trophies in total. That

:46:18. > :46:22.reality TV Survival Mission series recently, she is farrier Atletico

:46:23. > :46:29.and fit, Alex Scott. She is in her 30s but she has kept herself so very

:46:30. > :46:39.fit. -- she is very athletic and fit. I know you are a fan of Hannah

:46:40. > :46:43.Blundell. She has been excellent this season, all the games I have

:46:44. > :46:47.watched. Defensively solid, always seems to be in the right position,

:46:48. > :46:53.even though she is only a young player. She is also good the other

:46:54. > :46:58.way, going forward, creating those overlaps, full of energy. South

:46:59. > :47:06.Coast girl, from Eastbourne. Played in the youth set up at Charlton.

:47:07. > :47:08.England under 20 international. She has been in the senior squad once as

:47:09. > :47:23.well. I think Fara Williams, she is just

:47:24. > :47:30.sitting that little bit deeper, to play those passes but also, to stop

:47:31. > :47:36.Ji from getting on the ball. If Farah can prevent that, it will stop

:47:37. > :47:41.Chelsea from getting forward. That was a decent challenge by Emma

:47:42. > :47:47.Mitchell. She will put this out of play. Did not see anything wrong

:47:48. > :47:52.with the tackle myself. Sue? I could not see anything. We will get a

:47:53. > :48:04.better look now. Looks like she catches her Achilles. No intent.

:48:05. > :48:47.Probably saw one for Jemma. -- probably a painful one.

:48:48. > :48:58.Danielle Carter goes for gold, and scores! The opening goal of the 2016

:48:59. > :49:04.women's FA Cup Final, and Arsenal take the lead! It was a fantastic

:49:05. > :49:09.goal! What a fantastic goal from Dan Carter. From the start, she has been

:49:10. > :49:12.the sport to watch. Every time she gets the ball, she's looking to

:49:13. > :49:16.drive at the defence and make something happen. This is the

:49:17. > :49:22.benefit of having a right footer on the left wing. She is turning Hannah

:49:23. > :49:28.Blundell inside and out and she just gets a yard of space. Straightaway,

:49:29. > :49:36.she's looking, can I beat the defender? And can I go and put it in

:49:37. > :49:40.the top corner?! And that's exactly what she did. Fantastic so low as

:49:41. > :49:43.from Dan Carter, and that's exactly what Arsenal needed to do. She has a

:49:44. > :49:50.very good scoring record against Chelsea. That's her sixth goal

:49:51. > :49:56.against them in 17 meetings now. Scored in the cup against them last

:49:57. > :49:59.year, and now has one in the final. To be honest, the only way we could

:50:00. > :50:04.see Arsenal winning this on current form was to get off to this sort of

:50:05. > :50:09.start - and they have done. They are so proud of their tradition in this

:50:10. > :50:20.competition. 13 times winners, winning eight of the last 12 finals.

:50:21. > :50:30.And they are ahead here. Here's Blondel, won back again by Mitchell.

:50:31. > :50:31.Back to the goalkeeper. I don't think she stood a chance, goalkeeper

:50:32. > :50:52.Lindahl, with that shot. Just 23 days ago, Arsenal look short

:50:53. > :51:01.of confidence, they were shaky, brittle. And now... The way they

:51:02. > :51:07.have started this game is excellent. Very high pressure, and the keys

:51:08. > :51:12.players that we spoke about before the game are really making things

:51:13. > :51:18.happen for them. Chelsea just need to get a grip on the game. The

:51:19. > :51:23.defence, midfield and forward line for Chelsea are just so far apart.

:51:24. > :51:30.Need to get closer together. Let me put this into some sort of context.

:51:31. > :51:38.Chelsea have won their last nine domestic matches in all

:51:39. > :51:47.competitions. Fran Kirby! It is still in play... Incomes the cross

:51:48. > :51:55.from Blondel. This time the goalkeeper did come. The flag is

:51:56. > :52:01.raised. The flag raised against Drew Spence, I think. But this is what

:52:02. > :52:07.can happen. She is onside, I think that's a good call from the Lions

:52:08. > :52:13.person. Fran Kirby is trying to get it through the goalkeeper's legs.

:52:14. > :52:21.Could she maybe go across? I think there were players coming in. She

:52:22. > :52:25.thinks there was a handball. Well, it bounced up and nearly hit Henning

:52:26. > :52:31.on the arm. I don't know whether there was contact. Difficult to see

:52:32. > :52:36.in the glare of the sun down there by the post. I think Fran Kirby,

:52:37. > :52:42.because the goalkeeper came and went back, should have been more decisive

:52:43. > :52:46.and maybe gone across goal, what do you think, Sue? I totally agree.

:52:47. > :52:51.Sometimes when you have so much time, you probably change your mind.

:52:52. > :53:01.You can see here, I don't think it hit her hand, I think she pulled it

:53:02. > :53:07.away at the last minute. It is a bit risky putting your hand up in the

:53:08. > :53:15.penalty area. Now, Williams to Nobbs. Giving herself some space on

:53:16. > :53:20.that far side is Oshoala. Lovely ball into the penalty area...

:53:21. > :53:23.Mirabeau brilliant challenge by Katie Chapman Chelsea. Arsenal come

:53:24. > :53:37.again. Mirabeau lovely bit of play from

:53:38. > :53:42.Arsenal. What a backheel there. Kelly Smith was just about to pull

:53:43. > :53:47.the trigger, and what a tackle from Chapman. It was a nice move,

:53:48. > :53:52.initially from Oshoala on the right-hand side, playing it through

:53:53. > :54:02.to Losada and then that lovely backheel to Kelly Smith. Losada, the

:54:03. > :54:12.former Barcelona sport. She won the cup in Spain with them on three

:54:13. > :54:19.occasions. Oshoala came into the Spotlight at the World U20s for

:54:20. > :54:24.Nigeria, scoring seven goals in five games, top scorer and best player in

:54:25. > :54:29.that competition. She was a star at the 2014 African Chanting Chips as

:54:30. > :54:33.well. Halfway through the first half, Arsenal leading. -- African

:54:34. > :54:50.Championships. I think it is fair to say, Sue, the

:54:51. > :54:54.women's game in England is getting bigger all the time. We have said it

:54:55. > :55:02.before, and we will keep saying it. It is important that the women and

:55:03. > :55:06.the clubs realise they are nowhere near where they want to be yet

:55:07. > :55:12.dazzled as in making progress. Absolutely. If you look back ten

:55:13. > :55:15.years ago, it has improved so much. The fact that we are here at

:55:16. > :55:20.Wembley, with potentially 35,000 people watching, it is live on the

:55:21. > :55:26.BBC, it is everything that you want as a female footballer. I look at

:55:27. > :55:29.the benches of both teams - top quality internationals sitting on

:55:30. > :55:34.the bench. People want to come over here and play in the Women's Super

:55:35. > :55:46.League now Cheruiyot is such a good standard. And internationally we are

:55:47. > :55:51.doing well as well. This is a far cry from the first ever women's FA

:55:52. > :55:59.Cup Final, in 1971, Southampton won it, beating what is now Kilmarnock

:56:00. > :56:04.ladies. It was at a sports centre in Crystal Palace. In recent years, the

:56:05. > :56:10.women's game has come under the auspices of the Football

:56:11. > :56:14.Association. Real efforts are being made, and crucially, more money has

:56:15. > :56:17.been thrown at it. Which makes a big difference, which allows the girls

:56:18. > :56:22.to train full-time. Professional players, makes the standard better.

:56:23. > :56:29.What a goal this was a separate the sides. It is a fantastic goal,

:56:30. > :56:35.really, really quick feet. She is right-footed, predominantly. Once

:56:36. > :56:39.she gets into the area and sees the goal, top corner, and I agree with

:56:40. > :56:45.you come I don't think the goalkeeper could do anything about

:56:46. > :56:54.that. She made her debut at 16. Trying to win her 10th trophy as an

:56:55. > :57:21.Arsenal sport. -- as an Arsenal player.

:57:22. > :57:29.She is playing well at the moment, Henning, at the back for Arsenal.

:57:30. > :57:34.Just looking at Arsenal, defensively, it looks like they have

:57:35. > :57:38.got a 4-1-4-1, with Fara Williams sitting just in front of the

:57:39. > :57:41.defence. But when they go forward, it is like they have got five

:57:42. > :57:45.attacking, with both Losada and Jordan Nobbs helping out the front

:57:46. > :57:50.three. And I think that's causing Chelsea are a lot of problems. I

:57:51. > :57:52.don't think expected that. Kelly Smith playing for the foul. She

:57:53. > :58:16.anticipated the challenge. She will be content that that

:58:17. > :58:32.Arsenal free kick has largely been wasted. Having a decent final, is

:58:33. > :58:39.Vicky Losada. There is manager Pedro Martinez Losa. Went out to America

:58:40. > :58:45.to manage the Western New York Flash team over there. I think that is

:58:46. > :58:54.where Pedro actually coached Vicky Losada. That's right. But it is

:58:55. > :58:58.Chelsea causing the danger here now. Ji look opportunity for the

:58:59. > :59:05.equaliser! It fell to the South Korean international. Good movement

:59:06. > :59:11.from both players here. Gemma Davison wants to dribble at players.

:59:12. > :59:21.Tries to just curl it with the outside of her boot. Just would not

:59:22. > :59:25.get hold of it like she wanted to. But they show danger when they go

:59:26. > :59:36.forward, with the quality they've got, Chelsea. Two times a cup winner

:59:37. > :59:43.in Japanese football, Ji, who is known back in South Korea as the

:59:44. > :59:47.Korean Messi. I think if you are of a certain height and you play just

:59:48. > :59:50.behind the striker, you would be known in any country as the

:59:51. > :00:02.something message and were you ever known as the scales Messi?! -- as

:00:03. > :00:16.the something Messi. Were you ever known as the Scouse Messi?!

:00:17. > :00:21.Quick throw, that's good vision from the Swedish international, who had a

:00:22. > :00:39.good World Cup last summer. She is now England's record cap

:00:40. > :00:45.holder. But for about seven years she was homeless. It just shows how

:00:46. > :00:49.football has shaped her and helped her get out of that unfortunate

:00:50. > :00:54.position she was in and now she does a lot for the charity which is

:00:55. > :01:01.great. She is an ambassador for the homeless charity which is something,

:01:02. > :01:05.she is a fantastic role model. Most capped England player and I am sure

:01:06. > :01:15.there are more to come. Arsenal have played them all

:01:16. > :01:25.controlled football. Davison could not get on the ball,

:01:26. > :01:32.that is a concern, they haven't been able to get their playmakers on the

:01:33. > :01:42.ball but this is Oshoala. Gilly Flaherty can get across. That is a

:01:43. > :01:50.goal kick. Ever present in this season's cup run, Gilly Flaherty.

:01:51. > :01:58.A very good crowd again. So important for the women's game that

:01:59. > :02:02.the FA Cup final is staged at Wembley. They hope this will be the

:02:03. > :02:16.biggest crowd of them all, beating last season's mark of 30,710. The

:02:17. > :02:20.fact that we have a goal here maintains the history that there has

:02:21. > :02:30.never been a 0-0 in a Women's FA Cup final. Good ball down the line.

:02:31. > :02:35.Chapman. Looking for Hannah Blundell. The final ball has let her

:02:36. > :02:47.down. Half an hour played, Arsenal

:02:48. > :02:54.leading, Chelsea have had a couple of good chances, Kirby was one and

:02:55. > :03:04.one -- one-on-one. Ji can change the game in a blink of an eye. Good

:03:05. > :03:14.challenge. Jordan Nobbs. Looking for Oshoala. She has forced the throw

:03:15. > :03:20.in, very strong, only 21. Last season at Liverpool she was trying

:03:21. > :03:24.to find her feet in European football. She is strong now. Very

:03:25. > :03:36.strong and quick. Very unpredictable. Sometimes it is her

:03:37. > :03:42.final ball that lets her down. She had success with Nigeria at youth

:03:43. > :03:52.level, she is now a member of the Order Of Niger. It is only now that

:03:53. > :04:09.the women's game in England is being recognised.

:04:10. > :04:25.Millie Bright. A chance for Drew Spence. Nothing came of it. A poor

:04:26. > :04:32.clearance by Stoney. They were looking for the pace of Fran Kirby,

:04:33. > :04:38.another mini Messi, called that by Mark Sampson. Yes, number ten,

:04:39. > :04:43.similar size! I think the key to beating Chelsea is that you have to

:04:44. > :04:48.try to win the midfield because they feed the front four and Arsenal are

:04:49. > :04:52.winning it, preventing. The goalkeeper had to come out. She took

:04:53. > :05:08.a chance. She is probably aware of the pace of

:05:09. > :05:12.Oshoala, just got the wrong side. Had she touched it with her hand it

:05:13. > :05:35.would have been curtains for her. Ji, dropping deep to see something

:05:36. > :05:44.of the ball. Smith. Lovely turn. So often they have not been able to

:05:45. > :05:55.clear their half, Chelsea. I think that is down to Arsenal's workrate.

:05:56. > :06:03.The big occasion, big pitch. You wonder if Arsenal might pay for the

:06:04. > :06:09.first half exertions. Played back by Stoney. Karen Carney just had a word

:06:10. > :06:21.with the referee, I think she felt she was pulled back. Another England

:06:22. > :06:27.star, Karen Carney. She had suffered from periods of depression and dark

:06:28. > :06:32.period in her life. That is a lovely ball. Might get a shot in, switches

:06:33. > :06:53.play. That is a lovely switch from Gemma

:06:54. > :06:56.Davison. Blundell gets forward well as a full-back, I don't know if it

:06:57. > :07:02.was a Croscombe shot, but in the end it wasn't anything -- Croscombe

:07:03. > :07:06.shot. Chelsea are just lacking that bit of quality.

:07:07. > :07:19.Carter. Towards Smith. Ana Borges got it away. And Katie Chapman doing

:07:20. > :07:30.what she does so well, snapping and snarling. Carter.

:07:31. > :07:42.Looking for Losada, who has got forward well. She has got further

:07:43. > :07:45.forward, quicker, than she did in the league game between the teams

:07:46. > :07:47.and Arsenal have moved the ball significantly quicker than three

:07:48. > :08:02.weeks ago. A much improved Arsenal display

:08:03. > :08:05.today. It really is, energy all over the pitch. I think he is picked the

:08:06. > :08:13.right team and seems to have the right tactics. And it is working for

:08:14. > :08:19.them. It doesn't help when you have so many good players to try to

:08:20. > :08:24.manage. That has been his problem. Quality players on the bench, it is

:08:25. > :08:28.a squad rotation and you have to buy into that and it is difficult for

:08:29. > :08:36.players because you don't want to sit on the bench.

:08:37. > :08:44.Here is a chance for Carney. Try to pull it back and Spence! Shot over

:08:45. > :09:02.from Drew Spence. Better from Chelsea. They managed to

:09:03. > :09:11.get it to Karen Carney who played it back to lose friends. -- Drew

:09:12. > :09:16.Spence. She just couldn't keep shot down. She scored against Villa in

:09:17. > :09:23.the quarterfinal. I just wonder if Chelsea have up problem with Gilly

:09:24. > :09:33.Flaherty. She seems to be limping. Stoney. I think she's OK.

:09:34. > :09:45.Carter. It came off her last, unlucky, it was a lovely, direct

:09:46. > :09:53.run. I think Gilly Flaherty had a problem, she is down in the penalty

:09:54. > :09:57.area. This does not look good. That would be a real loss to Chelsea if

:09:58. > :10:03.she had to go off. That was unlucky for Dan Carter. She was trying to

:10:04. > :10:08.get into the box, because if you do that, there is a chance of a penalty

:10:09. > :10:12.all creating or scoring like she did earlier Ulster this is worrying.

:10:13. > :10:21.Left ankle may be. Emma Hayes is talking to her

:10:22. > :10:32.players, the experienced Katie Chapman. They do have name -- Niamh

:10:33. > :10:37.Fahey on the bench. She has been out injured. She has only completed a

:10:38. > :10:41.few training sessions this week. Whether she is match fit, I don't

:10:42. > :10:46.know, but if there is a problem they have a fantastic replacement. It

:10:47. > :10:51.would be a real shame to see Gilly Flaherty going off. A top player who

:10:52. > :10:58.leads by example from the back. She seemed to be in trouble for four or

:10:59. > :11:04.five minutes before then. Limping a little bit. Was this where she got

:11:05. > :11:16.hurt? She was grimacing. There was not any

:11:17. > :11:25.twisting so whether it was just contact...

:11:26. > :11:35.I think she is going to come back on.

:11:36. > :11:49.Here she comes. Made her full debut for England in October and has

:11:50. > :11:55.stayed in the team since. She was at the Millwall Academy and Arsenal, I

:11:56. > :12:00.think for 11 years, part of that fantastic team that won beam

:12:01. > :12:06.quadruple. A lot of players have changed their allegiances. Will that

:12:07. > :12:12.continue to happen as the game gets more professional and advanced? I

:12:13. > :12:19.think so. You can see it happening already. I suppose it is just if you

:12:20. > :12:22.feel you can develop your game better at a particular club, knew

:12:23. > :12:28.would go there to make yourself a better player. The cross from

:12:29. > :12:36.Oshoala comes off Flaherty and that is a corner to Arsenal. When the

:12:37. > :12:43.players were together and getting a drink, I think it must be fairly

:12:44. > :12:50.warm at its site but it is actually perishing where we are! -- at pitch

:12:51. > :13:03.side. I might have to borrow your coat but it could be a tight fit!

:13:04. > :13:10.There will be a little bit of stoppage time, this is a good run

:13:11. > :13:20.from Borges. And who chased her back? 37 years of age, Kelly Smith.

:13:21. > :13:36.Losada. Casey Stoney. Carter, the

:13:37. > :13:42.goal-scorer. It will come back to her. She is sliding into pressurised

:13:43. > :13:51.Millie Bright whose acclaimed drops to Fara Williams. Smith, lovely

:13:52. > :13:56.turn, Oshoala! Sheet scuffed it. A big opportunity for Arsenal to go in

:13:57. > :14:01.at 2-0 up. That would have been a long road back for Chelsea. Big John

:14:02. > :14:07.is just before half-time, fantastic turn from Kelly Smith and she just

:14:08. > :14:12.sees the run of Oshoala -- big chance. It is the end product

:14:13. > :14:19.sometimes. That is a big chance for Arsenal will stop fantastic talent.

:14:20. > :14:28.She was signed in the close season from Liverpool. She could not get

:14:29. > :14:41.her feet right then. It remains 1-0. It was lovely play from Kelly Smith

:14:42. > :14:49.who once played for Wembley Ladies. A chance for Carter.

:14:50. > :14:55.She has been the liveliest forward in the game. She is high on

:14:56. > :14:59.confidence, all the way through this half she has looked to get forward

:15:00. > :15:04.and attack the Chelsea defence and she will shoot when she gets the

:15:05. > :15:11.opportunity. A bit of a nudge on Kirby. From Casey Stoney, looking

:15:12. > :15:17.for a fourth FA Cup success, a couple of spells at Chelsea, she was

:15:18. > :15:23.player-manager for a while. She is a very good coach as well as a player.

:15:24. > :15:30.I am sure she will continue her path in women's football.

:15:31. > :15:36.A lot of the players do augment their wages, working as coaches at

:15:37. > :15:54.various clubs. This is that chance again from

:15:55. > :15:59.Oshoala, and she completely scuffs it. She probably even had time to

:16:00. > :16:07.take the goalkeeper on and just slot it. Good control by Dan Carter.

:16:08. > :16:40.Spence, Kane... That the vision she has. She is

:16:41. > :16:48.enjoying her football today, Fara Williams. She is, she is getting a

:16:49. > :16:51.bit of space in front of the back four. Play the ball into space and

:16:52. > :17:11.her forward players will get it. The linesperson there, who comes

:17:12. > :17:16.from a refereeing family. Yes, indeed, Michael Oliver! You were

:17:17. > :17:26.testing my knowledge, then, won't you? Yes. Knowledge, ten out of ten.

:17:27. > :17:30.Hesitancy, though, lets you down! Trying to find my piece of paper

:17:31. > :17:41.with it on! He is here today as well. Fran Kirby looking to the

:17:42. > :17:50.referee for some protection. Chelsea centre forward tracking back into

:17:51. > :17:54.her own half, being brought down by an Arsenal centre half. That has

:17:55. > :17:59.happened a fair few times in the men's game over the years. Thoughts

:18:00. > :18:05.on the first half, Sue? Arsenal deservedly going into the break with

:18:06. > :18:10.their lead. They have set up for this game perfectly. They have

:18:11. > :18:16.pressed, they have attacked really well and deserve it leaders so far.

:18:17. > :18:22.There is the goal-scorer, who bent her superb shot into the far corner.

:18:23. > :18:27.Chelsea have had a couple of efforts. Fran Kirby chose the wrong

:18:28. > :18:31.option and Ji shot over. But Arsenal are worthy leaders here in the 2016

:18:32. > :18:48.SSE women's FA Cup Final. So, we are in familiar territory,

:18:49. > :18:51.Arsenal leading an FA Cup Final. But perhaps in the context of this game,

:18:52. > :18:55.with Chelsea being the favourites, having won every game this season,

:18:56. > :19:02.was the fast start for Arsenal key for them? Definitely. It builds

:19:03. > :19:04.confidence. Every time Arsenal have played in the league, they have been

:19:05. > :19:09.a little bit shaky. People have questioned them. They needed to come

:19:10. > :19:13.at Chelsea and really go for it early doors to get the confidence,

:19:14. > :19:18.get the team feeling happy. And they have controlled the game. I think it

:19:19. > :19:22.has been a good game. Both teams have done well. Do you think Chelsea

:19:23. > :19:26.have been surprised by that start from Arsenal? Arsenal have been on

:19:27. > :19:31.the front foot, not giving Chelsea any time on the ball, and I think

:19:32. > :19:35.that has put Chelsea on the back foot. All Chelsea have been able to

:19:36. > :19:39.do is often just pump it forwards, and there has been very few numbers

:19:40. > :19:48.up front. We have seen Chelsea a lot this season - and they get numbers,

:19:49. > :19:52.people like Ji and Fran Kirby, up, but they have not had the

:19:53. > :19:56.opportunity to do that. And that is all credit to Arsenal. What a

:19:57. > :20:01.quality goal it was from Dan Carter. Amazing, and that is what she can

:20:02. > :20:06.do. She wants to run at you. Fantastic first touch. She is

:20:07. > :20:10.right-footed, she wants to get it on her right foot and that is a

:20:11. > :20:16.fantastic goal. I was going absolutely mental! Hannah Blundell

:20:17. > :20:20.needs to get closer, Chelsea need to be telling her that, she needs to

:20:21. > :20:24.show her on her left foot. I am surprised that they have let Dan

:20:25. > :20:31.Carter come in on her right foot. That's worthy of winning any FA Cup

:20:32. > :20:37.Final, I know it is early doors. I know, I hope it stays 1-0! That's

:20:38. > :20:42.just quickly, sees it, and nothing that goalkeeper Lindahl could have

:20:43. > :20:46.done. World-class goalkeeper, but that's all about the finish. You

:20:47. > :20:51.working to point out that there was nothing the goalkeeper could have

:20:52. > :20:56.done about that! Absolutely. She got on the line of the ball, and it was

:20:57. > :21:00.just an absolute peach of a finish. Lindahl is about 6ft tall, one of

:21:01. > :21:04.the tallest in the league, but that was a perfect finish. You were not

:21:05. > :21:07.being wise after the event when you were talking about Blondel getting

:21:08. > :21:13.closer to Carter. You were saying it right from the start. Yes, she

:21:14. > :21:17.started the game, Dan Carter, everything she does is positive, she

:21:18. > :21:20.wants to run at you. I just think that Hannah Blundell is too far away

:21:21. > :21:25.and they are giving too much respect. If Dan Carter gets her

:21:26. > :21:30.confidence, there she is, taking it on, winning a corner. So it was not

:21:31. > :21:37.his prize when she cuts inside and schools that fantastic goal. But I

:21:38. > :21:40.think Chelsea have to look to get closer, don't let Dan Carter run at

:21:41. > :21:46.you. If she does, she can do things like that. There has got to be

:21:47. > :21:50.communication across the back four as well. Hannah Blundell is dropping

:21:51. > :21:55.off, so you cannot have the others in the back four dropping even

:21:56. > :22:02.deeper. They have to get tight and not let Dan Carter turn. Or she has

:22:03. > :22:06.got to drop off and almost double up. We did not see as much of the

:22:07. > :22:11.Chelsea front four as we were expecting. But there was a chance

:22:12. > :22:18.for Fran Kirby, and she was claiming handball afterwards, should it have

:22:19. > :22:27.been? Not for me. It is so close and so quick, Henning does have her hand

:22:28. > :22:34.up, but it's a good save. I don't know. But I'm going to be biased

:22:35. > :22:40.anyway! That is what we have got you here for, Rachel, just to be biased!

:22:41. > :22:53.It does. Her hand. In the context of it affecting the game? No, not at

:22:54. > :22:57.all. -- it does. Chelsea did have a couple of chances. Some of their

:22:58. > :23:02.star players perhaps not as much in the game as we expected, but the

:23:03. > :23:08.chances were there for the likes of Ji? Yes, this was a good shot, but I

:23:09. > :23:14.think that is why Gemma Davison has started. She can run at people.

:23:15. > :23:19.She's got tricks, she's got power, she's got pace, and then she can set

:23:20. > :23:23.people up like Ji So-Yun. She will be disappointed that she put that

:23:24. > :23:29.one over the bar. She's better than that. Ji So-Yun is the little

:23:30. > :23:33.magician for Chelsea. She can produce something out of nothing.

:23:34. > :23:37.Arsenal need to watch that they do not get outnumbered, like they did

:23:38. > :23:43.on that occasion, allowing Chelsea to get the shot away. And really, Ji

:23:44. > :23:46.should have got that on target. But they need to be careful not to give

:23:47. > :23:50.these world-class players time and space full stop that will be

:23:51. > :23:55.something Pedro Martinez Losa will be looking at at half-time, in order

:23:56. > :24:00.to stop Chelsea getting back into the game. There was another chance

:24:01. > :24:06.for Arsenal, just before the break, they could have made it 2-0. Yes, it

:24:07. > :24:14.was such good build-up play as well. Lovely ball by Kelly Smith, and she

:24:15. > :24:19.just does not really connect with it, Oshoala. Arsenal were so

:24:20. > :24:25.composed in the latter stages of this half. But shot, for a player of

:24:26. > :24:30.her quality, on her right foot, she has what to do better than that. And

:24:31. > :24:33.she will know that. She will be wanting to prove herself in the

:24:34. > :24:38.second half. She should have scored. She should, she didn't. But I am

:24:39. > :24:42.fascinated to know what Emma Hayes will be saying in the dressing room.

:24:43. > :24:48.I think she will be saying, don't panic. In the last couple of years,

:24:49. > :24:54.Chelsea have become then Tilly strong, the ability to cope with

:24:55. > :24:57.pressure and to stick to game plans. They would have expected Arsenal to

:24:58. > :25:04.come at them in the first 20 minutes. That will not be something

:25:05. > :25:07.out of the blue. She will be saying, stick to the game plan, wear them

:25:08. > :25:11.down, keep doing what we do well, which is passing the ball, using the

:25:12. > :25:18.width, the likes of Karen Carney needs to get into the game a lot

:25:19. > :25:22.more. But - stick to the game plan. So, it is 1-0 at half-time. We are

:25:23. > :25:26.still in the early stages of the battle for the other major honour in

:25:27. > :25:30.the women's game, which is the Women's Super League title. And at

:25:31. > :25:44.the moment, it looks like a two horse race.

:25:45. > :25:49.COMMENTATOR: They have had to be patient, but the goal has come for

:25:50. > :26:06.the home side! Aluko! Lovely goal! Williamson is quick as well. What a

:26:07. > :26:21.finish! Off the line, and Chelsea have what

:26:22. > :26:35.surely is the decider, from Fran Kirby, again! And that settles it!

:26:36. > :26:49.Three successive wins to start the season for Manchester City!

:26:50. > :27:05.And a chance! Taken! It breaks for Stokes. Duggan! Picks out the bottom

:27:06. > :27:27.corner. Lucy Bronze scores the opening goal!

:27:28. > :27:35.Jennifer Beattie with a towering header!

:27:36. > :27:47.Fran Kirby scores! And this will be a huge boost for Chelsea.

:27:48. > :27:54.So, 100% starts in the league for Manchester City and Chelsea. City

:27:55. > :28:00.have played one game more and have not conceded a single goal yet.

:28:01. > :28:06.Chelsea have also won every game, and every cup game, Rachel. Two

:28:07. > :28:10.horse race? I think so. I think Arsenal's performance today, in a

:28:11. > :28:14.different context outside of the league, it is hoped to them in their

:28:15. > :28:19.title aspirations as well. But as it stands, Manchester City and Chelsea,

:28:20. > :28:23.it looks like those two. Both of them are playing fantastic football.

:28:24. > :28:27.I think it could even go down to goal difference between the two of

:28:28. > :28:32.them. You are out playing for Notts County on loan from Arsenal. Neither

:28:33. > :28:36.of those asides in the title race at the moment, but you got your first

:28:37. > :28:42.win a couple of weeks ago against Liverpool, and you played quite

:28:43. > :28:46.apart in that game? Thank you! It was a good game and we were really

:28:47. > :28:51.happy to get the win. In spells, we played really well and scored some

:28:52. > :28:54.fantastic goals. Alan Wright's second goal was absolutely

:28:55. > :29:02.brilliant. The team is doing really well, staff, players and fans have

:29:03. > :29:06.been fantastic to me. How has it been with the stop start nature of

:29:07. > :29:09.the campaign, bearing in mind there are so many international breaks and

:29:10. > :29:14.everything to fit in around the summer league season? Yes, it is

:29:15. > :29:17.difficult and forgot to get consistency. Especially with nine

:29:18. > :29:22.teams, someone will always be missing out on any particular week.

:29:23. > :29:26.Notts County played two games in one week, and then the FA Cup, and then

:29:27. > :29:30.they were the ninth team. So this doubt on a bit of game time. But we

:29:31. > :29:34.want to bounce back and hopefully win against Birmingham next week.

:29:35. > :29:39.Good luck with that. It is an absolutely fascinating game coming

:29:40. > :29:43.up on Thursday night. These Chelsea players host Manchester City in what

:29:44. > :29:48.promises to be one of the games of the season in the Women's Super

:29:49. > :29:52.League. If you can get down to Staines, it is a 730pm kick-off. And

:29:53. > :30:00.you can also see the highlights when you get home on BBC Two.

:30:01. > :30:04.And of course we will have extensive coverage of the last day of the

:30:05. > :30:23.men's Premier League season tomorrow.

:30:24. > :31:10.Right here next week it is the FA Cup final.

:31:11. > :31:18.Back to the SSC Women's FA Cup final, it is Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea at

:31:19. > :31:23.half-time and former Arsenal and England captain Faye White won nine

:31:24. > :31:29.FA Cups. From Arsenal point view, that went pretty much perfectly for

:31:30. > :31:34.Arsenal. You couldn't ask for much more. They started at a good tempo

:31:35. > :31:38.and looked up for the occasion and Dan Carter with the brilliant goal,

:31:39. > :31:45.has looked lively, willing to take players on. With Kelly Smith, she is

:31:46. > :31:50.good at holding the ball up and finding space. They certainly at the

:31:51. > :31:55.main part of the possession and it is encouraging. It was some goal

:31:56. > :32:03.from Dan Carter, she is showing what she's all about. She was the way of

:32:04. > :32:09.the year and she is showing why. -- Player of the Year. And laying on

:32:10. > :32:13.the left allows her to cut in on the right foot but she looks up for the

:32:14. > :32:18.occasion and is also getting back for her defensive responsibilities.

:32:19. > :32:22.How should Arsenal approach the second half because you imagine

:32:23. > :32:26.Chelsea will come out all guns blazing? They haven't really got

:32:27. > :32:30.into the stride and Pedro will be making them aware of that. They

:32:31. > :32:34.might not have wanted half-time to come. It is about keeping possession

:32:35. > :32:40.and keep playing as well as they have done. But with Fran Kirby and

:32:41. > :32:46.Gemma Davison and Karen Carney, they are frightening upfront. They will

:32:47. > :32:53.have to be switched on and just keep the game going as it has. Thank you.

:32:54. > :32:59.Faye White's Arsenal have the advantage here. Actor our commentary

:33:00. > :33:02.team for the second half dizzy if Chelsea can make it two in a row at

:33:03. > :33:12.Wembley -- back to. Once at the Jude coming on at

:33:13. > :33:19.half-time, name Faugheen has been out for a while -- one substitute.

:33:20. > :33:28.She has come on for Drew Spence which means Millie Bright moves into

:33:29. > :33:34.midfield where she has been playing most of midfield. What do you make

:33:35. > :33:39.of that? It needed to happen because Arsenal were overrunning the Chelsea

:33:40. > :33:44.in the middle so you now have Bright and Chapman, two physical players.

:33:45. > :33:48.Arsenal were putting Drew Spence under pressure and stopping her

:33:49. > :33:56.playing so I think Millie Bright will come in and help Chelsea

:33:57. > :34:03.regained the ball in midfield. Straight it is Flaherty. Up to the

:34:04. > :34:12.edge of the area goes Losada and it is squirted away. Flaherty was under

:34:13. > :34:22.pressure straightaway. Another free kick for Arsenal. That is a concern

:34:23. > :34:29.bring it on your centre-half and if Jilly Flaherty -- Gilly Flaherty is

:34:30. > :34:36.slightly injured... She is at the top of your picture. A free kick for

:34:37. > :34:41.Arsenal. Fara Williams will take it. Kelly Smith standing offside at the

:34:42. > :34:46.moment. That will go straight through and it is easy for somebody

:34:47. > :34:58.who is played for her country over a hundred times, Hedvig Lindahl.

:34:59. > :35:05.Chelsea need a quick response. Lovely turn by Losada who is having

:35:06. > :35:17.a very good final. This is Oshoala. She goes through the gears and goes

:35:18. > :35:21.for goal. Losada has been excellent. That was a lovely ball and Oshoala

:35:22. > :35:26.will knock it past you with her pace. She could have played into

:35:27. > :35:33.Kelly Smith but she went for goal. They showed their quality.

:35:34. > :35:40.Brilliant, and expensive slip in the middle and it almost came through

:35:41. > :35:46.and it will do now! Off the bar! Offside anyway, it didn't count. But

:35:47. > :35:53.the fact that there was a slip inside the area let Smith nearly in

:35:54. > :35:58.for a second for Arsenal. What a lovely bit of skill from Oshoala.

:35:59. > :36:04.She decides to cross it this time. The slip allowed Kelly Smith... She

:36:05. > :36:12.was offside. You wonder if she could have played it along the floor. It

:36:13. > :36:18.would have been a free shot on target for Kelly. Another chance for

:36:19. > :36:26.Arsenal. A couple at the start of the second half for Arsenal. The

:36:27. > :36:32.lead is slender. This is Smith. The cross looking for Nobbs. She is

:36:33. > :36:35.caught in the Continental cup final a couple of times last season -- she

:36:36. > :36:46.scored. It is all Arsenal at the start of

:36:47. > :36:52.the second half, as it was largely at the first. I think Losada will be

:36:53. > :36:57.very close to winning player of the match.

:36:58. > :37:15.The next goal in this game could have a massive effect. If Arsenal

:37:16. > :37:19.get a second, you cannot see Chelsea coming back into it but if Chelsea

:37:20. > :37:25.can equalise, with the options they have, you could see them going on to

:37:26. > :37:29.win it. The fact that they have Eni Aluko on the bench as well. She will

:37:30. > :37:41.come on with a point to prove. Stoney, such a good player over the

:37:42. > :37:49.years. Still part of the England setup. Again, Arsenal looking to

:37:50. > :37:54.send Oshoala away to take on Borges. It is obviously something they said

:37:55. > :38:03.at half-time, to get it out wide right and run the defender. We saw

:38:04. > :38:11.Ana Borges coming forward in the first half, the Chelsea left-back.

:38:12. > :38:17.Defensively... Going forward she looks decent but defensively she

:38:18. > :38:22.looks to be suspect against Oshoala. I'm surprised Claire Rafferty isn't

:38:23. > :38:27.in there. This was brilliant skill from Oshoala. This is how

:38:28. > :38:33.unpredictable she is, she can do something amazing and then obviously

:38:34. > :38:38.missed, I wouldn't call it an easy chance, but she should have done

:38:39. > :38:49.better with it. If she can be consistent, she can be top-class.

:38:50. > :38:55.Here she is again. Smith. Carter waiting and she is onside. Back into

:38:56. > :39:00.the middle and off the legs of the goalkeeper. She was looking for

:39:01. > :39:10.Oshoala coming in. Lindahl got something on it. It was Borges

:39:11. > :39:19.playing her onside. Tough to call. Was Carter going for gold? I think

:39:20. > :39:31.so. -- for goal. That was a let off for Lindahl. She was a cup winner in

:39:32. > :39:41.Sweden. Also a runner-up. Plenty of experience of the big occasions.

:39:42. > :39:47.Ji has had a disappointing final by her standards so far. That is credit

:39:48. > :39:56.to Arsenal, they have stopped her playing every time she has got the

:39:57. > :40:00.ball. They have targeted the key players so welcome not allowing them

:40:01. > :40:04.to get on the ball and bossing the midfield which is what they needed

:40:05. > :40:10.to do. They have got the game plan spot on. That was a bit of a cynical

:40:11. > :40:11.foul from Kelly Smith she knew what she was doing, as Chelsea get ready

:40:12. > :40:34.to bring on Eni Aluko. Another foul. I wonder if Arsenal will regret

:40:35. > :40:42.those two missed chances at the start of this half. Arsenal, high

:40:43. > :40:48.press in the first half, have they run themselves into the ground? Will

:40:49. > :40:53.Chelsea get stronger as the game goes on? That is aimed towards

:40:54. > :40:57.Millie Bright, Chapman got in front of her. It will bounce for Jordan

:40:58. > :41:06.Nobbs. Mitchell. Carter, Williams, she has had a good

:41:07. > :41:41.game. Lovely turn by Nobbs. Aluko waiting on that far side. I

:41:42. > :41:45.just wonder who will go off. It could be Karen Carney, Gemma

:41:46. > :41:51.Davison, Fran Kirby, she can play all across the front three. I am

:41:52. > :41:52.hedging my bets! It would not surprise me if Karen Carney goes

:41:53. > :42:07.off. They could put Fran Kirby into a

:42:08. > :42:17.wider position and Aluko through the middle or put Aluko out wide. They

:42:18. > :42:20.can interchange so well. They are constantly moving and that is why

:42:21. > :42:28.they are normally so difficult to defend against. I think they had to

:42:29. > :42:32.commit more bodies forward than they have been doing, Chelsea. And they

:42:33. > :42:43.need that quality when they are going forward. Bright. That is not a

:42:44. > :42:48.good ball. What we do know is that Eni Aluko will come on, four goals

:42:49. > :42:55.already this season in seven games. She had a super final last year and

:42:56. > :43:03.she won the cup against Chelsea for Birmingham back in 2012. She scored

:43:04. > :43:08.the winner in the 2005 cup final for Charlton against Everton. It is

:43:09. > :43:17.Karen Carney coming off. She will be bitterly disappointed. Aluko is a

:43:18. > :43:22.different sort of player. I don't think Carney has had any sort of

:43:23. > :43:26.supply, she wanted to be able to dribble at players. We have seen Eni

:43:27. > :43:32.Aluko coming on, especially for England, and she can change a game,

:43:33. > :43:37.she has that pace and drive. And I said earlier, she will have a point

:43:38. > :43:47.to prove, a real impact player. Here she is. She has that searing pace.

:43:48. > :43:55.Kelly Smith brought back down well. They almost gave it back to her.

:43:56. > :44:04.This is Losada. Into the feet of Oshoala. Good defending by Chapman.

:44:05. > :44:10.Hasn't she covered some ground? She is really trying to lead by example.

:44:11. > :44:17.They need a lift, a spark of brilliance or a good tackle like

:44:18. > :44:23.that. Working hard for her team to get them back into this. Arsenal's

:44:24. > :44:34.fourth corner of the game. Chelsea are yet to have one. It comes, easy

:44:35. > :44:42.header away. And now Chelsea look to the pace of Eni Aluko. Head down and

:44:43. > :44:47.carrying. It would have been a difficult ball, had she looked up,

:44:48. > :44:54.Hannah Blundell had made a great run on the far side but a very difficult

:44:55. > :45:03.ball to get across to her. She has not necessarily done a bad job for

:45:04. > :45:13.her team. Kirby. Ji. Borges. Scott was there, she has had a good game.

:45:14. > :45:19.Out wide to Oshoala almost but this is Ji.

:45:20. > :45:42.Given away. Chelsea on the counter... Cleared by Henning.

:45:43. > :45:50.Williams digs it out. This is a decent spell for Chelsea, even if

:45:51. > :45:58.they are not really creating. That's given away very poorly by Ana

:45:59. > :46:10.Borges. Blundell went to ground and timed it well. She needed to. We

:46:11. > :46:20.have not seen too much of Blundell going forward, but she anticipated

:46:21. > :46:26.that well. I think you said it earlier - Chelsea need to commit

:46:27. > :46:32.more players forward. Front three needs to be closer together. It is

:46:33. > :46:39.such a big pitch, there is not many female players who can do that long

:46:40. > :46:45.diagonal ball out wide. Arsenal have kept three clean sheets in eight

:46:46. > :46:52.matches this season. That is a worry for Chelsea, of course. Chelsea's

:46:53. > :46:59.last domestic fleet, 1-0 at Birmingham in the WSL Up in

:47:00. > :47:13.September of last year. That is last time Chelsea failed to score in a

:47:14. > :47:17.domestic came. She has had a very good final, she has had a very good

:47:18. > :47:27.season. I think she has been one of the only players who has remained a

:47:28. > :47:31.constant in the Arsenal team. She was on an episode of Pointless on

:47:32. > :47:40.the BBC, alongside Hope Powell and Graeme Le Saux. I think they went on

:47:41. > :47:47.to win it. I wouldn't know, we were already in a taxi on the way home,

:47:48. > :47:52.having gone out in the first round. My answer was so appalling, the

:47:53. > :48:12.music could not even get going. Very similar position to the Arsenal

:48:13. > :48:17.goal, but this one went wide. That's exactly what she was trying to do.

:48:18. > :48:21.Good ball out by Ji, and she wants to get on her right foot. Exactly

:48:22. > :48:28.the same as Dan Carter did in the first half. Just couldn't get quite

:48:29. > :48:38.enough on it. On the hour at Wembley, Arsenal still leading 1-0.

:48:39. > :48:40.Aluko has two goals against Arsenal in the past, including in the FA Cup

:48:41. > :49:01.semifinal. Davison has had a quiet final so

:49:02. > :49:07.far. But they are beginning to get on top here, Chelsea. Arsenal being

:49:08. > :49:16.forced to defend deeper and deeper, looking to counter. Oshoala, surely

:49:17. > :49:25.this time! Oh, the touch was very heavy! And another chance has come

:49:26. > :49:29.and gone! Arsenal should have been two, three, even four up. Kelly

:49:30. > :49:36.Smith, again, creating the opportunity. This was a good first

:49:37. > :49:41.touch, bad second touch, just giving Lindahl the chance to come out and

:49:42. > :49:46.make herself big. She actually did really well to save it with her leg

:49:47. > :49:52.in the end, I think it was. That's three chances for Arsenal, maybe

:49:53. > :50:01.four. Three big ones to her in the game. Still young, at 21. Goalkeeper

:50:02. > :50:10.came, went back, another corner for Arsenal.

:50:11. > :50:20.Katie Chapman does such a good job defending in her own penalty area.

:50:21. > :50:27.She has had a remarkable career. Seven FA Cup 's. She made that

:50:28. > :50:35.statement when she retired from England duty back in March 2011, in

:50:36. > :50:46.a row over childcare costs. She won that will and she is back in. -- she

:50:47. > :50:54.won that battle. I thought that was in. It was a lovely ball in. Henning

:50:55. > :51:00.manages to in front of everybody but just cannot direct her head. Got to

:51:01. > :51:06.defend better than that, Chelsea. Chelsea can in a Ford any sort of

:51:07. > :51:13.ghastly mistake at this stage. -- can ill afford. Cannot ever remember

:51:14. > :51:23.Josephine Henning scoring - for anyone. Smith was so

:51:24. > :51:29.quick to cover the ground and force the corner. She looks really fit and

:51:30. > :51:34.well and up for the occasion. She does, she looks very sharp. I know

:51:35. > :51:38.she hasn't played a couple of the WSL games which she would have liked

:51:39. > :51:42.to have played. I think he has been looking after her, making sure she

:51:43. > :51:47.is fit and healthy, like you say. Headroom knows how important Kelly

:51:48. > :52:04.Smith is to this Arsenal team. And I think she's been excellent so far.

:52:05. > :52:11.The referee is running back to the halfway line. What is Sarah Garret

:52:12. > :52:39.doing here? There is another flag being brought on.

:52:40. > :52:49.Good cross in! Really good move by Arsenal again. Chelsea need to get

:52:50. > :52:52.it away in a hurry. She has had an excellent game, the Spanish

:52:53. > :53:14.international Losada. Chapman, for Chelsea. Henning needed

:53:15. > :53:20.to get to that second ball quickly, because Kirby was coming in.

:53:21. > :53:31.Williams dumped to the turf by Millie Bright. That was a definite

:53:32. > :53:37.foul! Just getting a bit frustrated. This was the chance earlier. Losada,

:53:38. > :53:42.Fara Williams, Kelly Smith, they have all been involved in everything

:53:43. > :53:49.good that Arsenal have done. Losada has been excellent. Another run in

:53:50. > :53:56.there by the 25-year-old, Spanish cup winner with Barcelona. It has

:53:57. > :54:03.been a feature of Arsenal's campaign, as they look for her

:54:04. > :54:06.again. She is offside there, but she has made great runs from deep

:54:07. > :54:09.positions, knowing that Fara Williams and Jordan Nobbs if

:54:10. > :54:15.necessary would drop back in and cover. They have to have a good

:54:16. > :54:20.understanding, the midfield three. They need to cover each other. But

:54:21. > :54:30.you just wonder, how long can Arsenal maintain this intense, high

:54:31. > :54:35.pressing game? It's difficult to do that, no matter how fit you are.

:54:36. > :54:40.England manager Mark Sampson is here looking on. It will be interesting

:54:41. > :54:45.for him to see Fara Williams working well with Jordan Nobbs, because has

:54:46. > :55:00.played Fara Williams in wider positions. England game coming up,

:55:01. > :55:05.tickets still available. Important to get those two combining well for

:55:06. > :55:08.England. Jordan Nobbs in there again. She could not play a full

:55:09. > :55:12.role in the World Cup last summer because she was injured. They have

:55:13. > :55:18.combined well today. They have, and I much prefer Fara Williams in a

:55:19. > :55:21.central role. I don't think she can be as effective and wide. She cannot

:55:22. > :55:26.get on the ball as much. We have seen today her quality when she does

:55:27. > :55:33.get on the ball. She is pivotal in everything Arsenal do. In recent

:55:34. > :55:40.meetings between the two sides, Chelsea have dominated. Have won the

:55:41. > :55:47.last two. Arsenal have only won one of their last seven meetings. And

:55:48. > :55:51.Chelsea nearly always score against Arsenal, scoring two or more in five

:55:52. > :56:04.of the last seven, keeping three clean sheets in the last four. So

:56:05. > :56:07.this is a turn-up. Arsenal have dominated possession, they have

:56:08. > :56:16.created more chances, but that's the big question on a big occasion -

:56:17. > :56:21.will a team get tired? Play the match and not the occasion, Sue,

:56:22. > :56:26.that's what they say. And it's very true. And Arsenal have got a lot of

:56:27. > :56:33.experienced players out there who have been and played the big

:56:34. > :56:42.occasions. And you can tell. Blustery old day at Wembley. Chilly

:56:43. > :56:48.in the shadows. Kelly Smith is in the Spotlight again, which is good

:56:49. > :56:55.to see. Wonderful player over the years. One of the pillars of English

:56:56. > :57:00.women's football. There have been of course many others, leading the way,

:57:01. > :57:06.Pathfinders, over the years, who should be remembered, I think, as

:57:07. > :57:19.women's football develops in England and in the UK at a fantastic rate.

:57:20. > :57:27.Aluko, is this her chance? Very good covering challenge by Casey Stoney.

:57:28. > :57:31.Chelsea 's first corner of the game, in the 70th minute. This is

:57:32. > :57:42.excellent defending from Casey Stoney. She reads the game so well.

:57:43. > :57:59.She has had a really good game. Ji could score! But doesn't! They

:58:00. > :58:02.haven't had many opportunities. Time is dribbling away, they might not

:58:03. > :58:07.get many more, and that was a big one! It was, and if there is a

:58:08. > :58:14.player you want it to fall to in the box, it is one! . I have seen her

:58:15. > :58:16.score so many good goals from that position. She just can't get over

:58:17. > :59:33.it. -- it is Ji! I just think the Chelsea players

:59:34. > :59:42.need to play closer together. Is there a problem here with the

:59:43. > :59:50.goalkeeper? She hasn't really had a great deal to do. She is saying it

:59:51. > :59:58.is her knee. I suppose one bonus is the fact that they have got Emma

:59:59. > :00:05.Byrne, who reserve 'keeper and an excellent 'keeper. Who has won the

:00:06. > :00:14.cup nine times, including 2014. Eight league titles. She is

:00:15. > :00:19.approaching 400 league games. The fact that Emma Byrne isn't playing,

:00:20. > :00:24.you know that van Veenendaal must be an excellent 'keeper. To have two

:00:25. > :00:31.goalkeepers like that in your squad, you must be very lucky. Emma Byrne

:00:32. > :00:38.has not played this season for Arsenal because of the form of van

:00:39. > :00:48.Veenendaal. Pedro Martinez Losa is going to make two substitutions now.

:00:49. > :00:57.Janssen has had a very good season so far and she will come on in

:00:58. > :01:07.midfield. Dominique Janssen, the Dutch international. The other

:01:08. > :01:09.substitute is van de Donk. She played on the left in the recent

:01:10. > :01:20.league game between the teams. I think Arsenal need fresh legs

:01:21. > :01:25.because there are signs that are tiring. And I think that is because

:01:26. > :01:30.how much they have worked in this game. I have been really impressed

:01:31. > :01:35.with Janssen this season. It is unfortunate she is competing for a

:01:36. > :01:40.position with Fara Williams because she will sit. I don't know if she

:01:41. > :01:44.will come on for Williams, but she played a similar role protecting the

:01:45. > :01:49.back four. Van de Donk has skill on the ball and can make things happen.

:01:50. > :01:57.Fresh legs is exactly what they need. I think she will come on for

:01:58. > :02:04.Kelly Smith. Danielle van de Donk is the shorter of the two girls. This

:02:05. > :02:11.is a sensible move, a fresh pair of legs. Another Dutch international,

:02:12. > :02:16.she has scored nine times. What a final Kelly Smith had, crucial that

:02:17. > :02:20.she could start. She has had an excellent final, and she was just

:02:21. > :02:25.giving some information to van de Donk, to hold the ball up but also

:02:26. > :02:34.to turn and have a go. That experience on and off the field has

:02:35. > :02:38.been vital. A fresh pair of legs. No comment on Fara Williams's display

:02:39. > :02:46.because she has had a terrific match, with American football style

:02:47. > :02:54.quarterback Passos flung around the pitch. The fact that Arsenal have

:02:55. > :02:59.that quality to come on. -- passes. You can work your socks off and you

:03:00. > :03:06.know your replacement coming on is going to be of good quality and can

:03:07. > :03:13.make things happen. Van de Donk has three goals this season, all against

:03:14. > :03:20.Sunderland in the cup semifinal. She will chase. They signed her from

:03:21. > :03:26.Gothenburg in Sweden, she had had a good spell at Eindhoven before that

:03:27. > :03:30.where she scored every other game. She has not played since the league

:03:31. > :03:34.match against Chelsea when she was disappointing. Carter tries to

:03:35. > :03:51.switch it to Oshoala. Chelsea seem to be making a move as

:03:52. > :03:53.well. Bethany England might be coming on. You know her very well. I

:03:54. > :04:06.do. Quarter of an hour left at Wembley.

:04:07. > :04:13.Davison running a long way and skips beyond Mitchell. Good defending

:04:14. > :04:18.again by Stoney, covering behind the full-back and the cross comes to

:04:19. > :04:24.nothing. Stoney has had an excellent game. They have had some good

:04:25. > :04:28.individual performances. Defensively they have been absolutely solid. It

:04:29. > :04:36.has allowed the front players to go forward and create things. You can

:04:37. > :04:40.pick out so many Arsenal players who have had a good game and that has

:04:41. > :04:45.been the difference as they have won their individual battles. Oshoala.

:04:46. > :04:56.Challenged by Borges. Had she taken her chances, Arsenal

:04:57. > :05:12.would have been home and hosed by now.

:05:13. > :05:22.They will be in no hurry now to get things going. Good run by van de

:05:23. > :05:32.Donk and a little chip! It almost beat the goalkeeper, from Losada.

:05:33. > :05:36.Lindahl flung up our hand. Losada deserves a goal, she has changed

:05:37. > :05:44.back again and got a vital touch as Davison tried to bring it away for

:05:45. > :05:50.Chelsea. Losada has had a really good game, the Arsenal midfielder

:05:51. > :06:10.has been absolutely key. Kirby has been starved of any genuine service.

:06:11. > :06:22.This was the chance. I think she was trying to end it to the far post and

:06:23. > :06:38.it almost went in. -- trying to dink it. Millie Bright has gone off and

:06:39. > :06:44.best England has come on. -- Beth England. She was instrumental for us

:06:45. > :06:49.at Doncaster last year but wanted to come to Chelsea to step up to that

:06:50. > :06:54.level. She is a top quality player. Very good in the air and she has

:06:55. > :06:58.scored a few goals for Chelsea. The shot is deflected, it comes to the

:06:59. > :07:06.substitute, shot blocked by Alex Scott.

:07:07. > :07:16.They are looking for England again. Janssen got it away and now Arsenal

:07:17. > :07:19.can counter with Carter, chased by Blundell, she needs support, van de

:07:20. > :07:25.Donk arriving in the middle, Danielle Carter, the shot blocked,

:07:26. > :07:39.can she release Oshoala? That is wide.

:07:40. > :07:46.That is what Dan Carter has done all afternoon. She had been on the front

:07:47. > :07:51.foot, wanting to take players on and she has been positive in everything

:07:52. > :08:00.she has done. Another standout player if we had to pick one.

:08:01. > :08:04.I think all of her hundred family and friends will be impressed with

:08:05. > :08:13.what they have seen. Alex Scott under a bit of pressure

:08:14. > :08:26.from Eni Aluko. Good interception by Janssen, this

:08:27. > :08:38.is Ji. Into the last ten minutes. Good covering down the left-hand

:08:39. > :09:06.side for Arsenal. The highest attendance for a women's

:09:07. > :09:10.cup final, 32,912, beating the record from last season, that is

:09:11. > :09:21.tremendous stuff. Enjoying the sunshine. It is great to see, a real

:09:22. > :09:23.family affair. And your size seven jacket didn't quite do the job for

:09:24. > :09:42.me! Up towards Aluko. Nice backheel.

:09:43. > :09:56.Borges. She was taken down rather cynically. Yellow card for Oshoala.

:09:57. > :10:07.I don't think she can argue with that one. It was very clumsy. It was

:10:08. > :10:11.a nice backheel from Aluko. And Borges, she can get forward,

:10:12. > :10:27.defensively not at her best today but going forward...

:10:28. > :10:33.Ji with the free kick. Eight minutes left for Chelsea. They have created

:10:34. > :10:47.so little. If this comes back of the

:10:48. > :11:00.goalkeeper, Aluko marked pounds. The goalkeeper punches under no great

:11:01. > :11:04.pressure -- po. Good clearance from Carter. Her goal still separates the

:11:05. > :11:20.teams. 14 goals in all competitions last

:11:21. > :11:32.season for Doncaster. Scored against them in March in Chelsea's 4-1 win.

:11:33. > :11:44.Emma Hayes. Double winners last season. His team might deny them the

:11:45. > :11:50.opportunity in 2016. Up goes Borges. A foul on Chapman but she is so

:11:51. > :12:03.strong and determined. There is a yellow card now for Beth England.

:12:04. > :12:13.Only 21, she turns 22 in June. This is the foul, it was Katie Chapman

:12:14. > :12:21.initially winning the ball. It was just a clumsy tackle. Sometimes when

:12:22. > :12:25.you come on you are quite over aroused and you want to prove a

:12:26. > :12:29.point and show what you can do. I think that was one of those,

:12:30. > :12:33.technically she is an excellent player and if you can get her on the

:12:34. > :12:39.ball she will show what quality she has. Wanted to test herself at a

:12:40. > :12:48.higher level, that is why she moved to Chelsea. As we mentioned at the

:12:49. > :12:52.top of the commentary, this is the new Chelsea kit. I gather we will

:12:53. > :12:59.see them in this next season. Arsenal are now taking their time.

:13:00. > :13:19.Very calm, Emma Hayes. Van de Donk. Gets the return. Won

:13:20. > :13:33.back right Chapman but that will be a throw in to Chelsea.

:13:34. > :13:46.Ji. Nothing on upfront at all, as to go back to Niamh Fahey. Look at the

:13:47. > :13:51.pressure Arsenal are still exerting hike up the pitch on Chelsea. They

:13:52. > :13:56.have worked tremendously hard today. It has not been a good start to the

:13:57. > :14:00.season for Arsenal. But if they hold onto this lead it would be another

:14:01. > :14:13.remarkable day for them in the Women's FA Cup. 14 victories, nine

:14:14. > :14:19.in their last 13 finals, in the last 13 finals, I should say. They have

:14:20. > :14:23.only ever lost one final themselves and have dominated this competition

:14:24. > :14:28.since the early 90s. Oshoala, is to hold will stop van de Donk was

:14:29. > :14:34.offside. She felt she was fouled -- has the hold.

:14:35. > :14:44.Who would be your player of the match? It is a difficult one to pick

:14:45. > :14:48.out because Arsenal have had so many quality performances. Casey Stoney

:14:49. > :14:56.has been immense, by Williams, Kelly Smith. You have mentioned Losada a

:14:57. > :15:00.few times. I have had to go with Dan Carter, for her individual solo

:15:01. > :15:01.effort for the goal, I have to go with her, she has been quality on

:15:02. > :15:09.the ball and that goal was special. Dan Carter, Player Of The Match, in

:15:10. > :15:42.the SSE Women's FA Cup Final 2016. Time is short now for Chelsea.

:15:43. > :15:52.Nothing on for Fahey. That looked like a frustrated ball, lacking in

:15:53. > :15:57.invention and quality. That has been the problem I think with Chelsea.

:15:58. > :16:05.They have needed a bit more quality going forward. It is a surprise,

:16:06. > :16:16.because of the players they have got. Off goes Oshoala, and on comes

:16:17. > :16:25.Leah Williamson, just 19, from Milton Keynes. She joined Arsenal as

:16:26. > :16:35.a nine-year-old. Katie Chapman trying to get Oshoala off the pitch

:16:36. > :16:40.quicker. She was young Player of the Year, was it last season, Leah

:16:41. > :16:45.Williamson? Won the FA Youth Cup with Arsenal in 2013 against

:16:46. > :17:02.Blackburn. She is an England under 23 player. Very much to add some

:17:03. > :17:17.defensive security. Chapman plays down the line, looking for Kirby.

:17:18. > :17:24.Cleared by the excellent Vicky Losada. Chapman gets it back. Driven

:17:25. > :17:50.forward by Carter. Arsenal are working so hard back

:17:51. > :17:58.there. Cross comes in from Borges. Through to the goalkeeper in the

:17:59. > :18:02.end. And they simply have not worked Sari van Veenendaal anywhere hard

:18:03. > :18:08.enough. Again, it is the quality. There is plenty of players in the

:18:09. > :18:14.box. Got to try and pick one of them out. Arsenal have played very well,

:18:15. > :18:19.Sue, Chelsea have underperformed. They really have, and they will

:18:20. > :18:24.think that as well. I have seen them so many times this season, and they

:18:25. > :18:35.have been excellent. Today they will be disappointed, on such a big

:18:36. > :18:38.occasion. But credit to Arsenal. Eventually, that one goes wide. We

:18:39. > :18:47.have four minutes of stoppage time announced. That was a half chance.

:18:48. > :18:54.Gemma Davison took it upon herself. Fran Kirby, bit of a snapshot on the

:18:55. > :19:02.volley, just could not get it on target. Is that the first attempt

:19:03. > :19:12.she has had since she had the one-to-one in the first half? I

:19:13. > :19:15.think it is. No-one has done more for Chelsea than Chapman in

:19:16. > :19:22.midfield. You can see what this means to her. Three times she won

:19:23. > :19:31.the cup for Arsenal. Was she taken down there? Well, Chelsea certainly

:19:32. > :19:34.had a claim. Oh, and the 'keeper very nearly got herself into a

:19:35. > :19:42.terrible bit of trouble there. What was she doing? She had two options,

:19:43. > :19:58.she could have just passed the ball out to them. You get it out wide

:19:59. > :20:05.there, don't you? Yes! Ji has not been able to escape her shackles

:20:06. > :20:11.throughout the game. Arsenal's game plan, to pressurise her wherever

:20:12. > :20:16.they can - and they have done. And that has been the sort of result.

:20:17. > :20:23.Chapman has been excellent for Chelsea, really excellent. Ji... Is

:20:24. > :20:28.it too little, too late, from the double winners? We're halfway

:20:29. > :20:35.through stoppage time. Gemma Davison on the outside... Forces the corner.

:20:36. > :20:46.At long last, Gemma Davison is running at her opponent. Chelsea in

:20:47. > :20:58.a hurry - can they force extra time? Chapman up from behind. Ji...

:20:59. > :21:04.Arsenal with everyone back. Aluko tries to thread it through. In the

:21:05. > :21:10.end, van Veenendaal makes a comfortable save. Fahey was forward,

:21:11. > :21:17.and it was a lovely ball to her by a Aluko. Great vision from Aluko. Just

:21:18. > :21:22.too little, too late. You think, why did Chelsea not to do this a little

:21:23. > :21:32.bit of sooner? Getting it out wide to Gemma Davison, who is creating

:21:33. > :21:44.things. And we are in the last unit of stoppage time.

:21:45. > :21:52.This has to go long - it doesn't. What a mix-up that is! Dan Carter,

:21:53. > :21:58.holding possession. If Arsenal keep the ball, they will win the cup.

:21:59. > :22:10.They know that. Jordan Nobbs gets it back into the corner flag area.

:22:11. > :22:18.Chelsea nearly getting themselves into trouble again. This time it

:22:19. > :22:23.does come out to Ji. No more intense as -- no more than ten seconds or so

:22:24. > :22:36.left. This is the last attack of the game, surely. And Arsenal have won

:22:37. > :22:44.it! The record holders of the FA Cup have won another trophy! Their 14th

:22:45. > :22:54.FA Cup success! They had the only goal-scorer, in Dan Carter. They

:22:55. > :22:58.have the 2016 FA Cup! It's strange to see say, because of their

:22:59. > :23:03.illustrious history, that they were underdogs, but they were. And they

:23:04. > :23:11.have shown exactly just what they can do. They have shown what they

:23:12. > :23:16.can do if Pedro Martinez Losa picks the right team and gets his tactics

:23:17. > :23:21.white, which he has done. And the players give absolutely everything,

:23:22. > :23:23.hard work and the quality on the ball. That has been the difference.

:23:24. > :23:28.Chelsea did not have that quality going forward - something I have not

:23:29. > :23:34.said about Chelsea all season. Well, another success for the remarkable

:23:35. > :23:41.Kelly Smith. She didn't score for a seventh time in a cup final. As

:23:42. > :23:47.ever, looking calm, even though she was on the defeated side. Emma Hayes

:23:48. > :23:55.walks away in a dignified manner. She does, and her players really

:23:56. > :24:00.play for her. She is a very good man manager, and she will be readers

:24:01. > :24:03.appointed, because she knows the players she has got, they didn't

:24:04. > :24:08.perform. Whether the occasion got to them, whether Arsenal were just a

:24:09. > :24:11.bit at on the day. They have a point to prove. Everybody was talking

:24:12. > :24:15.about the top two teams in the league, Chelsea and city. Arsenal

:24:16. > :24:30.wanted to show today that they were just as good as them. For Smith, it

:24:31. > :24:36.is a fifth FA Cup triumph. Jo is down with Player Of The Match Dan

:24:37. > :24:41.Carter. How does it feel? It is amazing, this is my fourth time

:24:42. > :24:45.winning it, but to do it at Wembley, it is amazing. Arsenal came

:24:46. > :24:49.sprinting out at the beginning of the match - was that the plan? I

:24:50. > :24:52.think it had to be. The performances we have put in at the beginning of

:24:53. > :24:56.the season have not been good enough. Hopefully we can kick on

:24:57. > :25:00.from now. Where does that goal rank in your career? I think it is right

:25:01. > :25:05.up there, to get the winner at Wembley! It is something I have

:25:06. > :25:11.dreamt of! You're not just an FA Cup winner, you're also the SSE Player

:25:12. > :25:17.Of The Match. Congratulations! Cheers! The fourth time she has won

:25:18. > :25:23.the FA Cup. She is only 22. It seems a little bit unfair on all of the

:25:24. > :25:28.other players! But of course, she is an Arsenal player, and it is what

:25:29. > :25:31.they do. Rachel Yankey, you have won it yourself nine times with them.

:25:32. > :25:37.How much of this do you think was down to psychology, with Arsenal for

:25:38. > :25:41.once being the underdogs? Yes, psychology, tactics... As I said at

:25:42. > :25:45.the beginning, it is a lot of pressure on Chelsea to go out there

:25:46. > :25:49.and be the top team, be the ones that everyone thinks will go and win

:25:50. > :25:54.it. And you have got to live up but expectation, which is not easy. I

:25:55. > :25:58.have been in that situation many times, and you kind of have to let

:25:59. > :26:04.it go whilst knowing that it is happening. Arsenal, being underdogs,

:26:05. > :26:09.all you can do is play your best and win, so you're in a win-win

:26:10. > :26:14.situation. They have gone out there and totally dominated the game. A

:26:15. > :26:17.fully deserve it. A fantastic goal by Dan Carter, they got it spot on

:26:18. > :26:22.today. Underdogs because of the league form, Rachel Brown, eye

:26:23. > :26:26.Manchester City have been winning all of our games... We will come

:26:27. > :26:32.back to that because we can now hear from the Arsenal winning manager,

:26:33. > :26:37.Pedro Martinez Losa, with Jo. Arsenal, FA Cup winners, how does it

:26:38. > :26:44.feel? Unbelievable. Wembley is red. I thank all of the players for their

:26:45. > :26:50.effort. I hope all of the fans will be proud of us. What was the secret

:26:51. > :26:52.behind the win today? The secret is the team, staying together in

:26:53. > :26:58.difficult moments, and having confidence in yourself, in your

:26:59. > :27:03.players. No questions at any moment, if them confidence to play on this

:27:04. > :27:10.big pitch, play good football - and we won. That was some goal by Dan

:27:11. > :27:13.Carter? Yes, I think we have more opportunities, especially in the

:27:14. > :27:17.first half, we could have got a couple more. Chelsea in the second

:27:18. > :27:24.half were very good, but I think we deserve the win. Congratulations.

:27:25. > :27:29.Thank you very much. His first FA Cup Final victory. Rachel Brown, we

:27:30. > :27:33.were talking before the game about, supposedly underdogs because of

:27:34. > :27:37.their league form is all they have fierce competitors in the likes of

:27:38. > :27:43.Casey Stoney, Ferrari Williams and Kelly Smith, who had won so much,

:27:44. > :27:49.but still so desperate to win, was that key? I think it was. Players

:27:50. > :27:54.who have won and lost the FA Cup, they know what it means. I remember

:27:55. > :27:58.playing against Arsenal numerous times, and when it came to clutch

:27:59. > :28:02.games, regardless of current form, Arsenal were always the favourites.

:28:03. > :28:05.There wasn't some sort of psychology where they tended to dominate and

:28:06. > :28:10.really show up for big games. The likes of Kelly Smith, Casey Stoney,

:28:11. > :28:15.Alex Scott, always bringing that wealth of experience, along with

:28:16. > :28:20.someone who is not there today on the pitch, Rachel Yankey! But that

:28:21. > :28:25.depth of experience and that application to take the game to

:28:26. > :28:31.Chelsea is what has won it today for Arsenal. And it was fully deserve.

:28:32. > :28:37.OK, well, the teams are starting to make their way up to the Royal Box.

:28:38. > :28:40.It is the first time they will be doing this at Wembley. Back to

:28:41. > :28:45.Jonathan Pearce. JONATHAN PEARCE: Yes, it is a

:28:46. > :28:53.different sort of walk for Arsenal. For Chelsea of course as well, who

:28:54. > :29:00.walked up those steps to lift the trophy last season, this year, it

:29:01. > :29:03.will be the runners-up medals. It is a long, convoluted walk in the new

:29:04. > :29:08.stadium, going up the steps, disappearing for a while, coming

:29:09. > :29:16.back into public view. Arsenal's name will be on that trophy. Katie

:29:17. > :29:21.Chapman worked so hard, denied an eighth success in this competition.

:29:22. > :29:24.Nobody worked harder than her. SUE SMITH: She was everywhere. She

:29:25. > :29:29.was defending her box, trying to attack in the other box. There just

:29:30. > :29:37.wasn't enough Katie Chapmans in the Chelsea team. They did not perform

:29:38. > :29:41.how we know they can. Sarah Garratt, the referee, and her assistants they

:29:42. > :29:59.did well? I thought they did very well. All female line-up, which is

:30:00. > :30:05.nice to see. Up go Chelsea. The new stadium is of course spectacular,

:30:06. > :30:12.but I wonder who it was who decided that it would take 3.5 days to get

:30:13. > :30:17.up there?! After having played 90 minutes as well! Arsenal will be

:30:18. > :30:20.lifting the cup for a record 14th time. Nine out of the last 13

:30:21. > :30:32.finals. There is Katie Chapman and behind

:30:33. > :30:44.her Hedvig Lindahl who had no chance for the goal. Millie Bright as well.

:30:45. > :31:00.A hug from Vic acres, who she will know so well from the Arsenal days

:31:01. > :31:07.-- Vic Akers. They won 33 major trophies under Vic Akers. Ji did not

:31:08. > :31:12.really get into the final. All credit to Arsenal. They stopped them

:31:13. > :31:19.playing, identifying the key players for Chelsea. Every time they got the

:31:20. > :31:21.ball there were Arsenal players around them stopping them playing

:31:22. > :31:39.and stopping them facing forward. You would normally play Alex

:31:40. > :31:46.Greenwood in a major final. You can see what it means to Alex Scott, it

:31:47. > :31:51.is unbridled joy for the Arsenal captain, winning eight ninths FA

:31:52. > :31:58.Cup, major trophy. Sensational club career.

:31:59. > :32:05.You look at the performances, Mitchell and Stoney and Losada and

:32:06. > :32:11.Williams. Jordan Nobbs covered so much ground, Carter took the goal

:32:12. > :32:16.well. Every single player. It is about winning those one-on-one

:32:17. > :32:22.battles with your opponent and Arsenal did that all over the pitch.

:32:23. > :32:31.They were quality in every area. Even the substitutes who came on.

:32:32. > :32:38.There will be -- they will be a force in the WSL this season. The

:32:39. > :32:47.Arsenal players preparing to lift the trophy. Tomorrow the men's team

:32:48. > :32:55.and the season. I wonder what the reaction will be. They can go out

:32:56. > :32:56.and display this cup and I'm sure that will create a buoyant

:32:57. > :33:12.atmosphere. They have been in this position

:33:13. > :33:21.before but not in this stadium. And a wave from the manager. Alex Scott

:33:22. > :33:33.receives her medal. Kelly Smith behind her. Outstanding over the

:33:34. > :33:40.years. A fifth FA Cup now. They all played their part, Jordan Nobbs in

:33:41. > :33:46.there, such energy levels. I wonder if they will lift it jointly, Alex

:33:47. > :33:53.Scott and Kelly Smith. Losada must have been close to player of the

:33:54. > :33:58.match. She really did. It was difficult, I could have picked any

:33:59. > :34:03.one of 11 from the Arsenal team. Losada had a fantastic game. This

:34:04. > :34:09.will be a lovely moment if they lived this jointly. Kelly Smith is

:34:10. > :34:14.37 and she might not get many more days like this. She has been a

:34:15. > :34:18.legend in the women's game. It is crucial for Arsenal to start her.

:34:19. > :34:28.Here we go, the 2-mac of them together. Up goes the cup! And a

:34:29. > :34:36.moment where they can dance the dance of delight as a team and as a

:34:37. > :34:42.unit, they were superb, too good for Chelsea, the favourites. Arsenal,

:34:43. > :34:51.for a record 14th time, winners of the Women's FA Cup.

:34:52. > :34:59.STUDIO: Familiar scenes and how much they must be enjoying that here at

:35:00. > :35:05.Wembley. Their first time here, just down the road from where you play.

:35:06. > :35:09.How much will this mean to them? It'll mean ever think and it is

:35:10. > :35:12.personal pride for the players. They know they have not been up to

:35:13. > :35:16.standard this season and this is where they felt they could click on.

:35:17. > :35:23.Every player out there has given every effort and it has been

:35:24. > :35:28.fantastic -- kick on. We saw a shot of Jodie Taylor who was ineligible

:35:29. > :35:32.for the match. It is almost an embarrassment of riches they have.

:35:33. > :35:39.You wonder where she would have fitted in! As Rachel Yankey said,

:35:40. > :35:44.every single player did not leave anything out there, they stuck to

:35:45. > :35:53.their game plan. As far as bringing in Jodie Taylor for the WSL, it is

:35:54. > :35:56.phenomenal. Pedro Losa has a difficult task to manage his players

:35:57. > :36:03.and keep everybody happy but she will certainly bring... She can be

:36:04. > :36:10.world class on the top of the game. I think everybody is excited to see

:36:11. > :36:13.her in the WSL. How important is man management, or woman management,

:36:14. > :36:21.when it comes to having so many top players? There are not that many

:36:22. > :36:25.games. It's critical. Whether you are a coach or a manager, it is

:36:26. > :36:29.about managing your players and when you have internationals on the

:36:30. > :36:35.bench, they will not be happy not playing in domestic football. They

:36:36. > :36:39.come to play every week and better their chances at international

:36:40. > :36:44.level. And these are experienced internationals so it is about being

:36:45. > :36:47.honest and trusting your players and making sure they know what their

:36:48. > :36:54.role is at the club. Then you can manage and rotate and work and get

:36:55. > :36:58.the best out of them. It is a case of communicating them if the players

:36:59. > :37:03.know why they are not playing, if it is managing them, the risk of

:37:04. > :37:07.injury, that is not an issue. If they don't get an explanation, that

:37:08. > :37:12.is when they start to question things. We can have a look at the

:37:13. > :37:22.winning goal and it was a cracker. It was brilliant. The control, the

:37:23. > :37:26.touch. She wants to go forward. That is a super strike. On her right

:37:27. > :37:30.foot, get it in there and she knew what she wanted to do. I've seen her

:37:31. > :37:34.do it so many times in training. It's a fantastic strike and I'm

:37:35. > :37:40.really proud of Dan Carter and what she has achieved. She is a player

:37:41. > :37:50.who needs to perform and today she has shown everything. Maybe not Bend

:37:51. > :37:56.it like Beckham but tell it like Carter! There was nothing the

:37:57. > :38:03.goalkeeper should have done. -- curl it. If you do the analysis, yes, you

:38:04. > :38:11.would expect Hannah Blundell to limit her chances and show her down

:38:12. > :38:17.the line. But Chelsea did not expect that to be the one chance. Arsenal

:38:18. > :38:22.had others. Chelsea did have some, they hit the bar, but it was so

:38:23. > :38:29.early on that they did not expect that to be the deciding moment of

:38:30. > :38:38.the game. Arsenal did have other chances. Oshoala will not be wanting

:38:39. > :38:44.to watch too many of these. She will know that she should have done

:38:45. > :38:48.better. It was good composure from Arsenal and she had chances but she

:38:49. > :38:53.is getting into positions to have these chances and that is positive.

:38:54. > :39:01.She is world-class, she was the best youngster in the world. This is what

:39:02. > :39:04.we expect of her. She hasn't finished her chances today and she

:39:05. > :39:10.is clearly upset but she is picking those chances. People may be

:39:11. > :39:16.questioned why Claire Rafferty did not start. She might have dealt with

:39:17. > :39:22.her better. Do you think that is something that Emma Hayes will look

:39:23. > :39:26.back on? If it was a tactical decision, yes, I think she might be

:39:27. > :39:31.questioning why she didn't start her. We have given a lot of credit

:39:32. > :39:35.to Arsenal because they were the better team today but for Chelsea,

:39:36. > :39:40.what could they all should they have done better? They knew that Arsenal

:39:41. > :39:46.would start brightly and they were weathering the storm. In the first

:39:47. > :39:52.half they had their chances to get back into it and equalise and create

:39:53. > :39:56.something but they did not take them. The second half they will be

:39:57. > :40:01.disappointed. You expected Chelsea to come out and take this game to

:40:02. > :40:09.Arsenal. They did have chances in the first half where they could have

:40:10. > :40:13.got shots on target but the second half, they didn't get there. Only in

:40:14. > :40:19.the last five minutes, but that isn't good enough for Chelsea.

:40:20. > :40:24.Arsenal were on fire and Chelsea were tame. One of the players on

:40:25. > :40:30.fire, a veteran but still an outstanding footballer, Kelly Smith.

:40:31. > :40:36.Your fifth FA Cup winners medal, where does this one rank? Top by

:40:37. > :40:42.far. The team was outstanding from the first minute until the last. We

:40:43. > :40:46.took the game to them, especially the first 20 minutes, we wanted to

:40:47. > :40:51.get on the front foot. Dan Carter was outstanding, Emma Mitchell, we

:40:52. > :40:57.really turned up, we wanted the cup back and we are really pleased with

:40:58. > :41:03.the performance. It has been described as your cup by Alex Scott,

:41:04. > :41:07.what does this mean? It is the one we all want to be involved in, a

:41:08. > :41:13.record crowd, playing in front of all these fans at Wembley, it is an

:41:14. > :41:18.unreal experience. How important was the match in terms of taking on

:41:19. > :41:27.renewal season? I said this before the game. Come on! We haven't played

:41:28. > :41:30.the best at the start of the season, we lost two games but winning this

:41:31. > :41:35.can kick-start us for a better campaign. We're so happy, Kelly

:41:36. > :41:39.touched on it, it doesn't matter about lead form in cup finals, we

:41:40. > :41:47.showed up and pressed them and made it difficult -- league form. Who

:41:48. > :41:52.stood out for you as captain? Our defence was good, our attack, Kelly

:41:53. > :41:56.loves the big occasions and what a spectacular goal from Dan Carter but

:41:57. > :42:00.it was a team effort like all season. You have played in ceremony

:42:01. > :42:07.big matches, where does this one come? For me and Kelly and others,

:42:08. > :42:10.we love Arsenal Football Club, we have been here for years so to walk

:42:11. > :42:17.out here in an Arsenal shirt and do it for the Arsenal fans is special.

:42:18. > :42:22.What more can you achieve as a team? Hopefully we can kick on. We have

:42:23. > :42:28.the trophy, we saw Vic Akers up there, the legend of Arsenal, it

:42:29. > :42:33.means the world to him and to everybody and Pedro, who put in so

:42:34. > :42:40.much hard work. Congratulations, I will let you enjoy the celebrations.

:42:41. > :42:45.Come on! It means quite a lot! It is nice to see players who have won so

:42:46. > :42:48.much, FA Cups, league cups, league titles, they didn't used to get

:42:49. > :42:52.challenged and maybe this means will not just because it is Wembley but

:42:53. > :42:59.because Chelsea have overtaken them in the league and they have been

:43:00. > :43:04.questioned. I think that is exactly why it means so much this time. For

:43:05. > :43:09.the first time ever, Arsenal came in as underdogs to this game and that

:43:10. > :43:12.does not happen. For the likes of Kelly and Alex, who have played

:43:13. > :43:19.their football all over the world, in America could, they know Arsenal

:43:20. > :43:24.is their club. That is what it means so much. They have gone into this

:43:25. > :43:30.game on a poor run of knowing that is not good enough for Arsenal, but

:43:31. > :43:36.everybody has showed up. Chelsea did have their chances, even though they

:43:37. > :43:43.were not at their best. Last year's matchwinner, Ji, she had some

:43:44. > :43:48.chances. She did. The quality she has shown is disappointing. She is

:43:49. > :43:54.off target, just got over it a bit too much. But we come to expect

:43:55. > :44:01.better of her and we are disappointed. You have to credit

:44:02. > :44:05.Casey Stoney for getting back and making her rush this shot. Although

:44:06. > :44:09.it is disappointing for her, it goes back to the Arsenal players, willing

:44:10. > :44:13.to put their bodies on the line, knowing that she is a threat and

:44:14. > :44:16.don't let her get the ball and don't give her time. Casey Stoney was

:44:17. > :44:31.outstanding today. She is with Joe. You have just won the FA Cup at

:44:32. > :44:35.Wembley, these days don't come along often. It's a special moment,

:44:36. > :44:40.probably the best in my club career. It is for these two, they motivate

:44:41. > :44:47.me every day to do well. What a team performance. It is the whole squad

:44:48. > :44:51.effort to get us here and with it. I think he wants your microphone! But

:44:52. > :44:59.I'm so proud of my team. What was this secret behind it? Your league

:45:00. > :45:03.form has not been fantastic. We knew that if we worked harder and fought

:45:04. > :45:08.harder and Ranmore Common we would win the game. I have to give credit

:45:09. > :45:16.to Pedro, he got his tactics spot on -- ran more than them. Do you want

:45:17. > :45:22.to introduce us? This is Teddy and Tilly. Mummy won! Arsenal fans!

:45:23. > :45:35.Arsenal Ladies and Man United men. It reminds me of when Ian

:45:36. > :45:40.Baker-Finch won the Open, I think it was, and his daughter... Anyway,

:45:41. > :45:43.that was a few years ago! Anyway, Casey Stoney, we have not mentioned

:45:44. > :45:49.her too much, with all of the attacking players getting the glory,

:45:50. > :45:52.but how key was she? Massively, she is a leader, and that's what you

:45:53. > :46:01.need when people are questioning you. You need people to stand up.

:46:02. > :46:07.Again, a composed performance by Casey Stoney. Josephine Henning next

:46:08. > :46:14.to her. We have kind of thought, Jemma Rose is not playing, but

:46:15. > :46:18.Henning showed great composure. We always think about Jordan Nobbs and

:46:19. > :46:23.Fara Williams, but I think Losada was quality today. Throughout the

:46:24. > :46:27.team, everybody stood up and was counted today. Workrate, that was

:46:28. > :46:33.one of the big things for Arsenal as well, wasn't it? As well as the

:46:34. > :46:38.psychology, and the game plan, but the workrate of those Arsenal

:46:39. > :46:45.players...? Yes, it was critical. Chelsea have great individuals, so

:46:46. > :46:52.not to give them time on the ball. Especially the magician Ji So-Yun.

:46:53. > :46:56.She had two shots all game, which is nothing. We have got to all three

:46:57. > :47:02.players all pressing her. That was the key part of the game plan for

:47:03. > :47:08.Arsenal are pressing from the front. You can see this, from Dan Carter.

:47:09. > :47:11.Pressing, right from the front three. From a Chelsea point of view,

:47:12. > :47:14.they do not have long now until they have to bounce back in a massive

:47:15. > :47:20.game against Chester city on Thursday night at Staines. We will

:47:21. > :47:29.have the highlights on the Women's Football Show, by the way! How will

:47:30. > :47:32.they get up for that? That is the job of Emma Hayes, it is the quality

:47:33. > :47:37.of the players, to be able to put this to one side. They will need to

:47:38. > :47:40.dissect why they did not really get out of third gear, why Arsenal side

:47:41. > :47:46.for their game so much. I'm sure Manchester City will be interested

:47:47. > :47:52.in seeing Arsenal's tactics today. Manchester City have got their own

:47:53. > :47:56.quality and style of course, but also, how they can prevent Chelsea

:47:57. > :47:59.from dominating games. But the quality Chelsea have got, I don't

:48:00. > :48:05.think it will affect them too much. Thank you to both of you. Arsenal

:48:06. > :48:11.have regained the trophy they have held more than any other club.

:48:12. > :48:57.Congratulations to them, once again! Goodbye from us.

:48:58. > :49:01.This could be the game of the season.

:49:02. > :49:03.There's going to be fireworks. 'A repeat of the 1990 final.'

:49:04. > :49:07.What do you mean, we're going to out-play him, cocker?
