:00:38. > :00:52.Welcome to Snooker Extra, day four. Today we have Fu versus Gould. He
:00:53. > :01:13.has beaten him on two occasions, 2002 and 2011. Martin Gould has hard
:01:14. > :01:30.a good round against Marco Fu. -- has had. Marco Fu has played
:01:31. > :01:44.exceptional snooker of -- over the last two years. He can win almost
:01:45. > :01:57.anything. That was all about safety. For a moment, I thought the
:01:58. > :02:50.red was going to be over the pocket. He glanced at the long pot. Not much
:02:51. > :03:35.reward with that. Touching ball. Touching ball, so he
:03:36. > :03:41.should be able to get in behind the black somewhere. This is going to be
:03:42. > :03:48.difficult with the two reds. It might be a re-rack. They might ask
:03:49. > :04:00.right away, rather than messing around.
:04:01. > :04:26.Players don't like to tiptoe around, but sometimes it happens. It is too
:04:27. > :04:35.early for a re-rack. They were tiptoeing, but now with the white it
:04:36. > :04:44.might be a few more shots. I think there is more chance of having a
:04:45. > :04:57.re-rack than not. Playing the odds. If they continue that as they move
:04:58. > :05:06.up the table, whoever has the first chance can break it right open. At
:05:07. > :05:22.the moment, Marco Fu has the advantage.
:05:23. > :05:46.He has left the red. Can Marco Fu get through to the red? Is not, --
:05:47. > :06:00.if not, it will be very awkward. He can definitely see it. It is the
:06:01. > :06:09.first chance in this round so far. He just about touched that. The cue
:06:10. > :06:26.ball has come all the way back for the brew. -- blue. That suits the
:06:27. > :06:37.players. Someone has been asked to turn bad device down. -- their
:06:38. > :06:50.device. They are listening to the commentary. Someone has to know what
:06:51. > :07:22.they are talking about. This is an excellent chance now.
:07:23. > :07:32.You can just see this red. It will be a little straight. Marco Fu is
:07:33. > :07:44.one of the best position players in the world. There is no doubt about
:07:45. > :07:45.that. He keeps it tight. He doesn't leave himself with anything
:07:46. > :09:00.difficult. He is very calm around the table,
:09:01. > :09:10.Marco Fu. If you watch him, he never rushes. He makes sure he is playing
:09:11. > :09:25.the right shot everytime. He looks around them. -- him. He is a very
:09:26. > :09:38.nice man. He is very well respected by his fellow professionals.
:09:39. > :10:02.This is nice watching Marco Fu break. You very rarely see it. His
:10:03. > :10:13.cue ball control is excellent. He has won over 300 times. He is very
:10:14. > :10:19.much under the radar. You notice him when he is playing well. He is the
:10:20. > :10:30.player that nobody enjoys playing in the draw. He is up and down, but he
:10:31. > :10:45.has his rank inside the top eight now. He does hang on. He is hard to
:10:46. > :10:49.beat and he grinds a game out. There is not a player in the last ten
:10:50. > :11:01.years that is so often out of form and is still one of the top players.
:11:02. > :11:15.He likes to make it exciting. He says it is boring to play well the
:11:16. > :11:21.time. -- all the time. Your son is living and working with him. He has
:11:22. > :11:38.been in Hong Kong the last few years. He is here in Leeds at the
:11:39. > :11:46.moment, playing with the lady players from Hong Kong. It is not
:11:47. > :12:03.great when your son is doing better. I will put up with it. It is still
:12:04. > :12:09.very popular, snooker, in Hong Kong. He has not had one difficult shot in
:12:10. > :12:20.this break. This is how he plays the game. That is how you feel when you
:12:21. > :12:30.are sitting in the chair. That is not quite what it is like, but it is
:12:31. > :12:42.how it feels. Your opponent feels the pressure. The white has not
:12:43. > :13:02.moved three or forefeet either side of the black. -- or four feet.
:13:03. > :13:26.His family with him in Hong Kong are his wife Shirley and his child. He
:13:27. > :13:31.would come with his dad, but then he was by himself in this country for
:13:32. > :13:46.long periods. As they say, happy off the table, good on it.
:13:47. > :13:56.That was a frame ball. The round of applause from the crowd tells you
:13:57. > :14:09.that. He will look for another century. As we have mentioned, his
:14:10. > :14:22.cue ball control has been superb. He will go for the pink Ball. -- ball.
:14:23. > :14:40.If he loses concentration, it is usually because the fire alarm has
:14:41. > :14:52.gone off. Even though Martin Gould has beaten Marco Fu the last few
:14:53. > :15:02.times here art the Crucible, he knows he is up against a good player
:15:03. > :15:10.today. -- at the Crucible. Other players have been pushed to the
:15:11. > :15:20.limit. The cue ball has been incredible this frame. This is the
:15:21. > :15:36.first time he has played a ball that he didn't want to play. This time it
:15:37. > :16:24.was blue. A wonderful break. A classy player.
:16:25. > :16:43.He was entitled to a round of applause they are. -- there. He has
:16:44. > :16:53.missed one. Everything else has been absolutely to the inch. He has had
:16:54. > :17:06.more than 300 centuries in his career. That was one of the best he
:17:07. > :17:30.has made. Perfect control. Marco Fu takes the opening frame.
:17:31. > :17:43.I think he can get past the green. He has played the safety on the
:17:44. > :21:18.other one. He has left a tempter here. If he
:21:19. > :21:26.can run through to the blue, he can get a pot. He can't go straight to
:21:27. > :21:35.the blue, but it is worth a risk. There is a red behind. He will have
:21:36. > :21:47.to be a little bit careful. Beautiful shot.
:21:48. > :22:08.He struck that perfectly. A little bit too straight, if I am going to
:22:09. > :22:16.be critical of it. He kept the cue ball perfectly under control. It is
:22:17. > :22:19.one thing to talk about it, it is another to get the judgement with
:22:20. > :23:55.the pace. Marco is in a position again where
:23:56. > :24:00.he can score heavily. At this red, he can bring in a few reds, or score
:24:01. > :24:11.from the black, depending on what he fancies. That is the second time in
:24:12. > :24:54.a frame and a half that he has slightly lost position.
:24:55. > :25:02.He might play a little cannon into the two reds. He doesn't want to
:25:03. > :25:18.play the kiss, but sometimes you have to. This is absolutely flawless
:25:19. > :25:33.snooker. You can get brainwashed with some of these players, but the
:25:34. > :25:46.cue ball has been on a string. He is playing by inches.
:25:47. > :26:05.That is OK. He would have liked to have been an inch or two back up the
:26:06. > :26:16.table. He would have liked to have gone for the pink. That's part of
:26:17. > :26:26.the table is crowded right now. -- that part. He would have been
:26:27. > :26:37.practising like all the other players, Martin Gould. Now he has
:26:38. > :26:53.had to sit out for a while. He has hired -- had 25 minutes without
:26:54. > :27:04.potting a ball. He hasn't tried to. He has played safety. The middle one
:27:05. > :27:13.is just about pots. Too risky. I'd be surprised if he took that one.
:27:14. > :27:27.Unless he can see both sides of the pocket. He is taking the left-hand
:27:28. > :27:34.one of the three to make sure he gets it. That is the third time he
:27:35. > :28:33.has been two inches away from public. -- from perfect.
:28:34. > :29:03.He is trying to run around two cushions here to get to the black.
:29:04. > :29:20.It is slightly off straight. Marco Fu just kind of gets on with his
:29:21. > :29:31.work, he doesn't really do anything too flash. There is a calmness about
:29:32. > :30:08.him as he walks around, and as you talk to him. He is always
:30:09. > :30:10.immaculately dressed. Can only presume the rednecks to the pink is
:30:11. > :30:46.what he will pot. -- red next. Well he threatened to miss that one
:30:47. > :31:11.but he was just having a song, really. -- us on. That could cut out
:31:12. > :31:33.his chances of making back-to-back centuries. And it has. He is still
:31:34. > :32:17.to kneel in front however. Two -- zero.
:32:18. > :32:40.Yes, this is not an easy safety shot to play. He has played the defensive
:32:41. > :32:49.safety, and he has been very lucky. So if you can see it, this is the
:32:50. > :33:02.first part that Martin Gould has had to take on. It is definitely on. Not
:33:03. > :33:06.the easiest shot to have there, when you have been off the table for so
:33:07. > :33:18.long. Taking the black on, he is a very
:33:19. > :33:55.aggressive player Martin Gould. Well, he didn't threaten the
:33:56. > :35:07.pockets. You can understand why. Is strange when you watch Martin
:35:08. > :35:24.Gould break, he has not been blessed with a lot of power, and Marco Fu
:35:25. > :35:41.has been a bit unlucky here. Very, very, very aggressive shot. The
:35:42. > :36:19.bridging over the black doesn't make it any easier to pot. When you are
:36:20. > :36:45.bridging over the ball those are easy to miss.
:36:46. > :37:00.Now then, a chance to see a bit of Martin Gould on the table. He had a
:37:01. > :37:08.very good win in the final qualifying round, winning seven to
:37:09. > :37:45.six. He is going to have to hit a red
:37:46. > :37:58.into the two red balls. He will be disappointed with that one. He did
:37:59. > :38:35.not get quite enough spin on the cue ball.
:38:36. > :39:10.Very thin cut this. Caught it slightly thick.
:39:11. > :39:19.I am not sure where he is looking. He might be looking at a plant
:39:20. > :39:28.there, I don't know if I would go for that plant.
:39:29. > :39:45.That cuts is on. Well that is amazing. How could you ever overcome
:39:46. > :39:55.that? I was just about to say that, it is probably an eight of an inch
:39:56. > :40:28.off the cushion and he over cuts it. -- eighth.
:40:29. > :40:55.Yes, there is a lot going on there when there are four balls involved.
:40:56. > :40:58.It is not a certainty this plant. Marco Fu is widely recognised as one
:40:59. > :41:08.of the better players in the game as well. If he had played it slowly, I
:41:09. > :41:19.don't understand how he could have missed it. Martin Gould was kept off
:41:20. > :41:57.the table for the first two frames, so he has to take these chances.
:41:58. > :42:12.Yes, Martin will be very pleased to get active table, but then of course
:42:13. > :42:25.the pressure comes on. -- back to the. You cannot continue to build if
:42:26. > :43:32.you keep getting him of position. He just had to pot that black deck
:43:33. > :43:38.there, rather than thin. -- thick. Just three more reds, three
:43:39. > :45:13.Colours. You have got to give Martin Gould a
:45:14. > :45:15.lot of credit he, -- here, to come back and build a lead after being
:45:16. > :46:18.down two breaks. You could not match up two more
:46:19. > :46:24.contrasting styles could you? He is very busy Martin, always looking to
:46:25. > :46:44.have things happening. I don't think he plots anywhere
:46:45. > :48:33.here, Not happy with that, but I think it
:48:34. > :48:38.might have landed. I think he was worried here, that he may leave the
:48:39. > :48:40.red on the right side of the pack. There you see his reaction, as he
:48:41. > :50:52.had the ball. -- hit. It looks like he might be tempted
:50:53. > :50:54.with this, but I don't see the point because I don't see how he could get
:50:55. > :51:28.back into play. He could play for the blue if you
:51:29. > :51:29.wanted to, and then get on a red, at the red in the centre is the ball to
:51:30. > :51:55.play. -- but. Well this could go wrong. Oh wow, it
:51:56. > :52:02.certainly slowed up there didn't it? I thought he had it that far too
:52:03. > :52:28.hard. Is in a great spot here. He has played that well. What a
:52:29. > :52:33.great position shot that was. It was not easy, he had a slight angle on
:52:34. > :52:50.the black, he had to make sure he went past the red. A succession of
:52:51. > :52:58.easy shots. You may have won a two recovery shots in a break, but in
:52:59. > :53:10.general terms, the more you do that, the harder it is to break it
:53:11. > :53:19.down. The hardest position to be in his thin cut in the middle. It is
:53:20. > :53:24.all about images these days. Once you lose the image when you are
:53:25. > :53:35.playing the shot, it just distracts something in the mind and you have
:53:36. > :53:47.to be strong to fight against it. He had to be careful there or he might
:53:48. > :53:50.have snookered himself. Some players might have been a touch firmer than
:53:51. > :53:53.that but of course if he was not firm enough then he would not have
:53:54. > :54:21.ended up on the red. He has played to clear this red out
:54:22. > :54:34.of the way because it was a bit of an obstacle for Marco Fu. This is a
:54:35. > :54:43.tougher pot. He is stretching the ball very nicely today, very smooth
:54:44. > :54:54.with his cue action. We have talked about his lack of power, most
:54:55. > :55:01.players would have gone for a different red, but Marco hasn't
:55:02. > :55:16.developed the topspin that a lot of players have, so he leaves a
:55:17. > :55:38.different angle on the black. This time though, he will play for the
:55:39. > :55:56.loose red. He may use the red at the back of the pack later on. He is
:55:57. > :55:58.very clever, he was just using that red to get to the other reds in the
:55:59. > :56:37.pack, without using that power. Opting to get the pink into play
:56:38. > :57:05.their, but it didn't quite happen. -- there.
:57:06. > :57:17.It is so nice to watch different players, the way they break. When
:57:18. > :57:24.Marco Fu does not have the power shot, he will think of another way
:57:25. > :57:27.of opening the bunch. A prime example is the way he left them at
:57:28. > :57:53.the end of the pack, and now he has them at his mercy.
:57:54. > :58:33.This is a very, very high standard we are seeing here at the moment.
:58:34. > :58:54.I was not going to suggest there is a possible maximum on until now. He
:58:55. > :59:03.might just play for the rednecks to the pink, all depends what he
:59:04. > :59:31.fancies. He knows that was a great chance. You can never guarantee what
:59:32. > :59:43.you are going to get. Sometimes you get a double in the centre pocket.
:59:44. > :59:57.He is playing a triple. What a shame. Martin Gould is still sitting
:59:58. > :00:07.in his chair. Marco Fu leads by four frames to one.
:00:08. > :00:18.Martin Gould knew he would be in for a calf match, -- tough match, but he
:00:19. > :01:08.didn't expect this. Martin Gould had a look to see if
:01:09. > :01:22.Marco Fu could slip past the reds, but he couldn't. Very close to the
:01:23. > :01:33.pink. He has gone for the split, unintentionally. That was a very
:01:34. > :01:45.unusual shot from Marco Fu. Look at him. He looks as if he has just hit
:01:46. > :02:02.a hundred. He never shows it on his face. He has held the cue ball well.
:02:03. > :03:15.He did a lot of checks. He needs to slow it down.
:03:16. > :03:28.It has been a very open game so far. The frames are not taking too
:03:29. > :03:42.long. It seems as if when one player makes a mistake, the other has got a
:03:43. > :03:50.chance. Oh well. Can I have that turned back again, please? Very
:03:51. > :04:13.disappointing. He didn't quite make it. It is an art. He hit it too
:04:14. > :04:23.thin. You would expect someone like Martin to hit it better than that.
:04:24. > :04:46.The frame times have been shot. Short. About 25 minutes.
:04:47. > :05:03.He is not missing much. That is perfect pace. He left himself a
:05:04. > :05:16.choice. He will want to come down the right-hand side of the table.
:05:17. > :05:23.There are two reds there. A lot of players would have played that
:05:24. > :05:34.differently. Marco Fu realised there was not a lot on, and he has now
:05:35. > :06:00.given himself another chance to score heavily. 96% pot success red.
:06:01. > :06:14.That is almost unbeatable. Lee once almost lost with that statistic. It
:06:15. > :06:21.was an unbelievable. Is you get above that, you are almost
:06:22. > :06:41.guaranteed to win the match. -- if you. The longer the match is, the
:06:42. > :06:55.more difficult it is to sustain. It is the same with darts. I really
:06:56. > :07:09.like darts. He is having a look at the reds. This is top drawer
:07:10. > :07:12.snooker. You don't often think of Marco Fu as one of the great
:07:13. > :07:53.players, but all you have to do is look at his record.
:07:54. > :08:10.He has given this plenty of thought. It is not straight forward from
:08:11. > :08:20.here. There are four groups of two reds. He has played it nicely. He
:08:21. > :08:29.used the backspin necessary to get it on to get it onto -- to get it on
:08:30. > :08:55.to the red. A good angle. It looks straight. It
:08:56. > :09:13.kissed off the red. He has left himself a nice angle. He has only
:09:14. > :09:25.missed four pots. He has potted 117. It is an incredible statistic.
:09:26. > :09:43.He has only missed four. You can't get them all. Martin Gould hasn't
:09:44. > :09:49.made that many mistakes. He has played twice. He just can't get it
:09:50. > :10:11.in. Marco Fu is taking his time. The
:10:12. > :10:26.session has just about come to an end. Quiet, please.
:10:27. > :10:42.Two more reds, two colours. That is an excellent positional shot. I
:10:43. > :10:55.would have thought the red had potted by the look on his face. Oh,
:10:56. > :11:06.it did. He was tricking me by the look on his face. He has to make
:11:07. > :11:23.sure he pots that. He didn't get anything on that. 43 points in
:11:24. > :11:34.front. 51 left on the table. The reds are in a perfect spot. The
:11:35. > :11:44.colours are not safe. The key thing here is to get a good white. He
:11:45. > :11:49.would like to put the colour safe, but the key thing here is not to
:11:50. > :12:11.leave an easy pot or a pot of any sort. He was hoping to put the black
:12:12. > :12:22.on the right cushion. He is putting it there. I would not play that
:12:23. > :12:32.shot. Maybe he was worried about kissing one of the others. He has
:12:33. > :12:39.now lost his advantage. He doesn't need the black until the very last
:12:40. > :12:48.one. He can win the game with three reds and three pinks. He doesn't
:12:49. > :13:01.need the blackened till the very last. -- the black until. You need
:13:02. > :13:19.to know when to use the safety. You have to trap your opponent. That is
:13:20. > :13:33.very good. He has got a safety shot here, but it is not easy. He will
:13:34. > :13:46.try to get the pink and the red in the corner. I think he went for the
:13:47. > :13:54.pot. It was a good weight. I wouldn't have fancied that. I think
:13:55. > :14:07.we have to give him the benefit of the doubt. I don't think he would
:14:08. > :14:17.have missed the kiss on both the red and the pink. He is looking to push
:14:18. > :14:29.it to the middle. If he hits it to the right, the ball will go to the
:14:30. > :14:42.middle pocket. That is his first port shot of the day. -- poor shot.
:14:43. > :14:50.I think he has got away with it. Pretty fortunate. He didn't have the
:14:51. > :15:01.angle to do it. He should have cut inside the blue. He should have gone
:15:02. > :15:12.on the inside. Because of where the blue stopped, this is well worth a
:15:13. > :15:23.go. Nicely played. There is nothing safe. Apart from the black that
:15:24. > :15:33.Marco Fu made safe earlier on. It is on the cushion. He would like to get
:15:34. > :15:43.the pink and cleared the red as well. -- clear the red. It is not
:15:44. > :15:55.straightforward. He has gone too far. I thought he was going for the
:15:56. > :16:12.one on the cushion. That was a very good shot if he meant to do that.
:16:13. > :16:20.He will be better off if the red is tight on the cushion. I am not sure
:16:21. > :16:26.if it is or not. We will see in a second. If it is not tight on the
:16:27. > :16:37.cushion, it will make his pot more difficult. Let's have a look to see
:16:38. > :16:49.how tight it is. It is slightly more difficult. With the angle, he is
:16:50. > :17:00.closer to the red. Very well paid. -- played. He has a positive mind.
:17:01. > :17:11.He is looking at the scoreboard. He knows he is 29 points behind. He
:17:12. > :17:16.could go for the yellow, but he is going for the slightly more
:17:17. > :17:31.difficult blue. He needs the points. He played that thin. With
:17:32. > :17:40.the way he has played, you have to take your hat off to Martin Gould.
:17:41. > :17:56.He has had great breaks. It has been brilliant. He has made a mess of
:17:57. > :18:13.that. He has got a thin cut. He might be able to check the Brown. --
:18:14. > :18:26.brown. He went for a plain ball. He has left himself the green. Between
:18:27. > :18:34.the cue ball and the brown. He has given himself a chance to get the
:18:35. > :18:46.pink so he can get behind the black. Under the circumstances, this
:18:47. > :18:55.would be an unbelievable Clarence. -- clearance. The blacks are safe.
:18:56. > :19:07.He is going to play that on the last ball. Somebody coughed when he was
:19:08. > :19:14.about to play the shot. He stopped and said, cheers. If you have to
:19:15. > :19:24.cough, you have to cough. I don't think that's right. This could be a
:19:25. > :19:40.turning point in the match. It has been an excellent effort from Martin
:19:41. > :19:49.Gould. Very well done. Great clearance from Martin. But he is
:19:50. > :21:31.still 4-2 behind. That is not a very good safety. The
:21:32. > :21:33.tap on the table from Martin says he appreciates it was a very poor
:21:34. > :21:54.safety. All of a sudden, there are a few
:21:55. > :22:06.balls being missed. There has been pressure in the last round. With the
:22:07. > :22:15.green where it is, it has made it more difficult. He is going to have
:22:16. > :23:22.to do something with the cue ball to miss the cannon.
:23:23. > :23:36.That was a bit optimistic there, I felt. You could see what he was
:23:37. > :23:47.trying to do. He was trying to hit the blue. It could have opened up
:23:48. > :23:59.the whole pack. It was a very aggressive shot. He can go from
:24:00. > :24:15.almost anywhere. He needs to get this right. He needs to go for the
:24:16. > :24:26.angle after this and try to dislodge it. He hasn't given himself a lot of
:24:27. > :24:37.room here. If you look at the cue ball, he is high up the table. It is
:24:38. > :24:47.not enough of an angle to give himself a nudge. It was always going
:24:48. > :24:55.to be difficult. It is about the only weakness that he has got in his
:24:56. > :25:03.game. He is unable to do this then, but he more than makes up for it in
:25:04. > :25:16.other departments. -- unable to do the spin. His temperament makes up
:25:17. > :26:05.for it. But the cue power was not there.
:26:06. > :26:22.Once again, that was unfortunate with how that red came into the
:26:23. > :26:38.middle. That happened last time with the safety. He didn't want it to
:26:39. > :26:55.kiss the red. He just about got past it.
:26:56. > :27:09.Another example of a little bit of lack of spin. Other players would
:27:10. > :27:25.have done differently. Still a good chance. He is going for the green
:27:26. > :28:24.pocket. Ooh! I didn't expect him to miss that one.
:28:25. > :28:43.I am sure that Martin Gould was not expecting this chance. He is able to
:28:44. > :28:48.pull a frame back. Ten minutes ago, it looked like he was going to go
:28:49. > :29:35.5-1 down. Now it could change. Don't think he has the same level of
:29:36. > :29:45.skill is Marco Fu, but he has a different style and a different way
:29:46. > :29:48.of break building. As he showed in the previous frame, he can plot the
:29:49. > :30:24.difficult ones under each stream pressure as well. -- pot. It is
:30:25. > :30:28.always difficult to get the pace just right, and now he will be
:30:29. > :31:23.looking for an angle on the pink, or the black. He would like to get into
:31:24. > :31:38.them if he can. So does he have the angle on the pink this time? There
:31:39. > :32:30.is a red for pot, you cannot see those from our commentary position
:32:31. > :32:48.but there is. This is his second break of over 50. He has had breaks
:32:49. > :32:52.of 45 and 46. There have been a few errors creeping in in the last few
:32:53. > :33:24.frames, that there has still been a high standard.
:33:25. > :33:32.There are some great players in this game, but nobody can play well all
:33:33. > :33:34.the time. There is too much skill involved, and too much room for
:33:35. > :33:57.error. Martin Gould, that is excellent. I
:33:58. > :34:01.have been very impressed with the way he has handled himself this
:34:02. > :34:03.morning, he has been bombarded with excellent snooker and he is on his
:34:04. > :35:38.way to getting back to 4-3. He has already made 23 centuries
:35:39. > :35:43.this season. If you straight on the it will be OK, if he is not straight
:35:44. > :36:05.on the green it will be tough to get on the brown.
:36:06. > :36:13.Well, what a shame there was no century there, but some great
:36:14. > :36:49.snooker from both players. He has got blue or pink as options.
:36:50. > :36:51.Depends which taper shot he likes. Three of four inches further out and
:36:52. > :37:13.I think he would be taking the pink. I think he deliberately played
:37:14. > :37:28.down their to guarantee himself the red.
:37:29. > :37:32.Some of the older players say you should never move a rat out with a
:37:33. > :37:52.red button Marco Fu has done it twice in this break. -- red.
:37:53. > :38:34.It is no good. Tough shot here. The angle there made that pot very
:38:35. > :38:41.difficult. He must have thought he was getting closer to the yellow
:38:42. > :39:01.than that and pocketed the brown on the wrong side.
:39:02. > :39:07.As you could see, it just went into the left side of the pocket which
:39:08. > :39:21.means he has cut it a little too thin. This is going to cost him, as
:39:22. > :40:01.the brown is covering the green. He went all out for the yellow. He
:40:02. > :40:46.played that OK. There may be a cross double on here. Bit of a good run
:40:47. > :41:01.their four Marco Fu. -- there for. COMMENTATOR: He will have to stomach
:41:02. > :41:34.a little bit. -- stun it. Well, you don't really want these
:41:35. > :41:43.rounds at this stage of the table to meat on the table for your
:41:44. > :42:02.children. -- Browns. He needs to the black. Oh. It could
:42:03. > :42:30.have been worse. Marco Fu will be delighted with
:42:31. > :43:36.that. Good attempt. Now he is not going to
:43:37. > :43:45.play to open the pack, he is just going to move the other two reds,
:43:46. > :44:08.with a safety shot. None of these shots are easy.
:44:09. > :44:20.The blue is now a bit tricky but the fact that the red is over near the
:44:21. > :45:10.black might create some problems. He does have an angle on this black
:45:11. > :45:26.to bring the Reds into play, if he fancies that he might take it on.
:45:27. > :45:38.Well, this is a pressure pot because he knows he is going to leave things
:45:39. > :45:48.on. Another example of him not wanting to go all out, ringing Reds
:45:49. > :46:35.into play -- bringing reds into play.
:46:36. > :46:59.This has given Marco Fu a good chance now. He is not guaranteed to
:47:00. > :47:19.win the frame from here, but you feel as if he won 6-3, he might
:47:20. > :47:32.consider himself a little lucky. Yes he was at 4-1, but then Martin Gould
:47:33. > :48:39.knuckled down and got himself back into it.
:48:40. > :48:50.Now then, he is going to have to move something after this red, in
:48:51. > :49:14.order to break the pack a little bit. Not sure if he played to get
:49:15. > :49:29.that into position with the red, or a better angle on the black. That is
:49:30. > :50:06.just about perfect. This time he needs to
:50:07. > :50:57.stun into the Reds, not screw into them.
:50:58. > :51:07.He is looking to see if there is a planned there as well, but there are
:51:08. > :51:17.two reds he can get here as well. -- plant. As we said earlier, he does
:51:18. > :51:37.tend to coax the reds out, rather than smash them. Disk crowd here at
:51:38. > :51:44.The Crucible Theatre, enthralled, as we are in commentating, there has
:51:45. > :52:04.been a very high standard of snooker played today. -- this. It looks like
:52:05. > :52:20.Marco Fu will will be taking a three frame lead into tomorrow. He got
:52:21. > :52:22.into it too much that time, he wanted to hit the left side of that
:52:23. > :53:26.red, and got the right. Will very good break of 64. He will
:53:27. > :53:51.take a three frame lead into tomorrow that. -- tomorrow's
:53:52. > :54:18.session. Pretty good effort from where he
:54:19. > :54:40.was, reaching over the ball. Now then, how will you hit that Martin?
:54:41. > :54:49.More or less dead straight. He has given himself a chance now. If he
:54:50. > :56:07.had have missed that it would have been all over.
:56:08. > :56:31.He played that nicely. He wants the cue ball to come over a little bit.
:56:32. > :56:38.Good quality stuff. It certainly isn't straightforward here. He has
:56:39. > :56:45.to be careful that he does not catch the black on the way up. There are a
:56:46. > :57:17.few things to think about here. Yet another attempt for Martin
:57:18. > :57:20.Gould. He may just decide to screw it into the blue, that means he can
:57:21. > :58:08.cover it for the other red. This has been a very enjoyable and
:58:09. > :58:14.entertaining session of snooker. On the reflection of breaks this
:58:15. > :58:33.session, Marco Fu has definitely been the better of the two. Lack
