:15:53. > :15:57.Clearly Jamaica hasn't changed beyond recognition because of Bolt.
:15:57. > :16:00.But what he has done is give the next generation of athletes here
:16:00. > :16:08.hope they can be the best in the world. He's the greatest
:16:08. > :16:14.inspiration to a lot of young athletes in Jamaica. He inspires us
:16:14. > :16:17.a lot to train harder, to be like him and be even better. That's why
:16:17. > :16:21.I come here every day - to work harder because everything takes

:16:31. > :16:42.
:16:42. > :16:45.life. It's obvious looking at these students that there's a lot more
:16:45. > :16:49.talent to come out of Jamaica, but we shouldn't forget that for every
:16:49. > :16:58.athlete who makes it to the Olympic Games there are dozens more if not
:16:58. > :17:01.hundreds more who don't qualify. Now we've known filming World
:17:01. > :17:04.Olympic Dreams following 25 stories from round the world that some
:17:04. > :17:07.would struggle through injury or illness or just not making the
:17:07. > :17:10.qualifying standard, but we didn't predict was that one would choose
:17:10. > :17:13.an alternative path at the eleventh hour. But that's exactly what
:17:13. > :17:16.British swimmer Acheing Ajulu- Bushell did. So in December last
:17:16. > :17:20.year, I made the decision to leave swimming behind and focus on my
:17:20. > :17:24.academic studies leading into my A level year. It's obviously one of
:17:24. > :17:31.the hardest decisions that I've had to make as swimming has been such a
:17:31. > :17:35.massive part of my life for so long. But I'm happy with the ways things
:17:35. > :17:43.are going at the moment, a couple of months on and things are going
:17:43. > :17:46.well. I think it's been really hard. I mean the ramifications of what
:17:47. > :17:50.it's meant for my everyday life - just such a lack of structure and
:17:50. > :17:53.having such massive chunks of time where I'm like 'what shall I do?'
:17:54. > :18:01.It's been really hard trying to move forwards and create a new
:18:01. > :18:11.structure and create a new routine. When I used to swim it took 24
:18:11. > :18:15.
:18:16. > :18:19.hours of my week. When I think about my academic studies I think a
:18:19. > :18:22.lot more long term and so I think that focusing on my academics is
:18:22. > :18:30.going to give me opportunities which will far outreach the
:18:30. > :18:35.opportunities that swimming could have, has given me, I guess. That's
:18:35. > :18:39.not to say that I don't value the sport and I don't think it can take
:18:39. > :18:42.you far because I've travelled all over the world and met some amazing
:18:43. > :18:46.people and it has been an amazing experience. When we set out on this
:18:46. > :18:50.journey two years ago, we chose 25 athletes to follow. Some have made
:18:50. > :18:53.it, some have not and others are still waiting to find out. The
:18:53. > :18:55.Mongolian boxer Enkbatyn Badar- Uugan will not take part after he

:18:58. > :19:01.Namibia's Merlin Diamond has still not run the required Olympic

:19:07. > :19:14.time is running out for the cheetah of Namibia. MC Mary Kom, India's

:19:17. > :19:22.qualify, she finished as the second best Asian fighter at the recent

:19:25. > :19:29.long distance runner from the Gaza strip is also struggling to run
:19:29. > :19:35.fast enough to qualify. Welcome to Kabul, Afghanistan. This is a trip
:19:35. > :19:39.I've wanted to make for a long time. Security issues have stopped us
:19:39. > :19:47.coming a couple of times but, finally, I'm about to meet a
:19:47. > :19:54.national hero here. At the Beijing Games a taekwondo fighter called
:19:54. > :20:00.Rohullah Nikpai won Afghanistan's first ever Olympic medal. Since
:20:00. > :20:03.2008, Rohullah has proved that bronze medal was not just a one-off.
:20:03. > :20:11.Last year World Olympic Dreams followed Rohullah to Korea where he
:20:11. > :20:16.won bronze at the World Taekwondo Championships. It all helped add to
:20:16. > :20:26.the weight of expectation back home here in Kabul. Rohullah Nikpai is
:20:26. > :20:29.
:20:29. > :20:32.changing what it means to be from Afghanistan. Kicking against a tide
:20:32. > :20:35.of war stories, for him, being Afghan is about competing on the
:20:35. > :20:45.world stage. It's about pride in his country and, hopefully once
:20:45. > :21:05.
:21:05. > :21:10.Nearly four years on from that medal performance in Beijing,
:21:10. > :21:17.Rohullah still uses this gym. It's the place where he started out in
:21:17. > :21:21.the outskirts of Kabul. It's pretty much a domestic house that's been
:21:21. > :21:31.converted and you can see it's not even the correct width for a proper
:21:31. > :21:34.taekwondo mat. The facilities here may still be wanting but Rohullah
:21:34. > :21:44.remains focused on one goal - proving he can equal or better his
:21:44. > :21:53.2008 bronze this summer in London. And if this training session is
:21:53. > :21:57.anything to go by, he's still a real threat. You can feel the power
:21:57. > :22:04.just coming right up through here and the most worrying thing is...
:22:04. > :22:08.From the moment his foot leaves the floor you can't see it. Thank you.
:22:08. > :22:12.Across this country Rohullah's success is proving inspirational.
:22:12. > :22:22.And for some fledgling sports here inspiration is about all there is.
:22:22. > :22:32.
:22:32. > :22:35.Meet the Afghanistan Water Polo Squad. The team - made up of
:22:35. > :22:39.farmers, shopkeepers and soldiers - is the brainchild of a US Marine
:22:39. > :22:43.who is hoping they can qualify for the 2016 Olympic Games. That goal
:22:43. > :22:47.is a tall order though. And this is what they're up against. This is
:22:47. > :22:49.one of only about a dozen swimming pools in the whole of Afghanistan.
:22:50. > :22:53.It's outside so in winter it's completely unusable. And sports
:22:53. > :22:56.politics being what it is, the swimmers train here. The water polo
:22:56. > :23:00.players - they have to find somewhere else. When I catch up
:23:00. > :23:03.with them they're training in an indoor pool as the guests of a
:23:03. > :23:08.local businessman. It's a one off - organised we think because we're
:23:08. > :23:12.filming - and it's not going according to plan. A couple of
:23:12. > :23:15.problems - there are no goals that I can see and a bit of confusion
:23:15. > :23:19.down the other end because there's no water polo ball. So someone's
:23:19. > :23:23.been sent to buy one and hopefully we'll have some sport to watch in a
:23:23. > :23:33.minute or two. Eventually a ball - albeit a football - turns up. And
:23:33. > :23:35.
:23:35. > :23:39.training gets underway. The players themselves are under no illusions
:23:39. > :23:46.about the obstacles they face but at the same time it's impossible to
:23:46. > :23:50.question what taking part means to them. As sporting struggles go
:23:50. > :23:53.you'd have to go a long way to beat the Afghan Water Polo Team. There
:23:53. > :23:58.is no tradition of aquatic sports in this landlocked country. Three
:23:58. > :24:01.of the team have been killed in the war. And a plan for a month's
:24:01. > :24:03.training in America is being blocked. It's a reminder that here,
:24:04. > :24:12.perhaps more than anywhere else on earth, sporting dreams survive
:24:12. > :24:16.against overwhelming odds. Next time, look out for Haider Rashid,
