:00:37. > :00:42.Good evening. The Lee Valley VeloPark is a sell-out once again at

:00:43. > :00:46.the world track cycling Championships and the British fans

:00:47. > :00:53.are in fine voice at the lasting's action. Gold, silver and Bronze

:00:54. > :00:57.where witnessed. COMMENTATOR: We are set for the big night at the

:00:58. > :01:10.velodrome. Britain with chances in all three events. Here we go. Ed

:01:11. > :01:15.Clancy leads on the opening lap. One of the smartest writers I have ever

:01:16. > :01:20.seen. It is the calm before the storm. It is all about trying to

:01:21. > :01:24.secure that gold medal. Becky James making sure she has not jumped from

:01:25. > :01:34.behind. Laura Trott is being drawn back into the race. Laura Trott is

:01:35. > :01:46.in the hunt for the gold. Here comes Laura Trott. The stadium gets to its

:01:47. > :01:49.feet. So close in the race for gold. To have the bronze after all I have

:01:50. > :01:55.been through over the last two years is incredible. I will put my house

:01:56. > :02:01.on her winning in Rio de Janeiro. It is incredible to win in front of my

:02:02. > :02:04.family. It was exhilarating. Sir Bradley Wiggins saying he is

:02:05. > :02:10.determined to overcome a result of the team pursuit against Australia.

:02:11. > :02:13.Laura Trott could become the most successful British Olympic athlete

:02:14. > :02:19.ever. This is what we have got coming up for you tonight. After a

:02:20. > :02:23.disappointing qualifying effort, Britain's women broke the national

:02:24. > :02:27.record to make it into the bronze medal race. The only thing missing

:02:28. > :02:32.in the career of Mark Cavendish is an Olympic medal and his place in

:02:33. > :02:38.Rio de Janeiro is on the line in the Omnium. Another medal is guaranteed

:02:39. > :02:40.for Britain. Owain Doull is up against Andy Tennant in the

:02:41. > :02:43.Individual Pursuit race bronze medal race. This is how it works out with

:02:44. > :03:12.timing. We will go to the red button for the

:03:13. > :03:17.men's Points Race with Jon Dibben going in that for Great Britain.

:03:18. > :03:23.With me in the studio is a man who got so excited, he broke his chair.

:03:24. > :03:26.Sir Chris Hoy. It was a fantastic night. An amazing night, what the

:03:27. > :03:33.home crowd needed to get a Gold Medal. It was fantastic. You get

:03:34. > :03:38.nervous appeared. I was on my feet. It just brings back the emotions.

:03:39. > :03:44.When you have no control as a spectator you get new -- nervous.

:03:45. > :03:50.Seder, Laura Trott, another medal, with a shoe rack with British sports

:03:51. > :03:54.women, not just cyclist? She could become the most successful British

:03:55. > :03:59.cyclist and Olympian in Rio de Janeiro. She is up there. We will be

:04:00. > :04:05.talking about Jessica Ennis and Katherine Grainger going into

:04:06. > :04:11.Brazil. Laura Trott tips does. She has done everything. She made the

:04:12. > :04:14.front page of at least one newspaper. Every race was close and

:04:15. > :04:20.tense but none more so the only men's team pursuit final. Written at

:04:21. > :04:24.against Australia and on the line for Great Britain was Ed Clancy,

:04:25. > :04:32.Owain Doull, Jon Dibben and Sir Bradley Wiggins. Let us relive it.

:04:33. > :04:35.COMMENTATOR: Britain finding it difficult to take a chunk of that

:04:36. > :04:41.lead. Ed Clancy goes to the front again. He has done a great job. Half

:04:42. > :04:49.a second in one single term. It is all going to come down to the

:04:50. > :04:55.closing stages of this race. Sega .3 seconds edit between the two teams

:04:56. > :04:58.and it is nothing. The endurance of Sir Bradley Wiggins will come into

:04:59. > :05:06.play. Great Britain are honourable and are closing the gap of the time.

:05:07. > :05:12.Closing in. Jon Dibben is off the front. Down to the final three. It

:05:13. > :05:17.is now back up to 0.4 seconds. Less than half a second in this classic

:05:18. > :05:21.confrontation. Great Britain against Australia. This is where the

:05:22. > :05:26.strength in depth will show for the Australians. Britain are holding

:05:27. > :05:30.their own but Australia have that extra man and that could make the

:05:31. > :05:36.difference. The Brits are on home turf and are still fighting. Three

:05:37. > :05:43.laps to go. The gap has came down again. Three laps in the race for

:05:44. > :05:48.gold in the men's team pursuit. Sir Bradley Wiggins on the front. He

:05:49. > :05:53.still has Ed Clancy. He still has Owain Doull. Who wants it more? The

:05:54. > :05:58.crowd are on their feet in the velodrome in London. It will require

:05:59. > :06:05.a big effort. The British trio will have to dig really deep now.

:06:06. > :06:09.Australia have had the lead all the way through. At the moment, Great

:06:10. > :06:15.Britain for the first time have the noses in front. So close but Britain

:06:16. > :06:19.leading the way in the race for gold in the team pursuit. It is going to

:06:20. > :06:26.be really tight at the end. Britain have lost it at the end. Australia

:06:27. > :06:31.claimed the gold medal. The elastic snapped in the British team on that

:06:32. > :06:35.last lap. They were racing on the edge and tiptoed over the edge on

:06:36. > :06:40.the very last lap. He gave everything and a little bit more in

:06:41. > :06:45.pursuit of that world title. It is Australia who win the day.

:06:46. > :06:50.Sir Bradley Wiggins said afterwards, he was certain, he would put his

:06:51. > :06:55.house on it that Britain would change that result in Rio de

:06:56. > :07:00.Janeiro. Why is he so sure? Part of that is mind games. He was the

:07:01. > :07:04.plaque that seep into the head of the Australians. He is confident he

:07:05. > :07:11.is not in that he is at his best. The team have not gelled yet.

:07:12. > :07:17.Edwards coming back from an injury and was not 100% on the first lap.

:07:18. > :07:21.That took a toll on him. It was a phenomenal performance. I think he

:07:22. > :07:27.is confident with a few more months preparation and able do it. Finding

:07:28. > :07:29.improvements, the woman's team pursuit, in qualification they were

:07:30. > :07:33.all over the place but have recovered to get to the bronze medal

:07:34. > :07:37.race. Where did they make changes and how did they find that

:07:38. > :07:41.different? We can look at some footage. When they went out the

:07:42. > :07:47.blocks in qualification, there was some gaps and the line was wavy.

:07:48. > :07:50.They were not as together as we used to seeing them. Look at the splits,

:07:51. > :07:55.they were quicker out the blocks yesterday this afternoon. When they

:07:56. > :08:00.went to the analysis, they were looking to quell the holes came from

:08:01. > :08:03.and where the pace changed will stop they will be looking to make the

:08:04. > :08:10.changes to make sure they are the property unit when they come into

:08:11. > :08:14.the ride today. Joanna ended up doing a half. They broke just after

:08:15. > :08:20.that. Laura was time to bring it back onto pace. They have looked at

:08:21. > :08:24.the pace grafted cf the gap opened up because of acceleration because

:08:25. > :08:30.they are using huge gears and it is hard to accelerate on. When a gap

:08:31. > :08:34.opened, it can affect them. This was today. This is when they broke the

:08:35. > :08:39.national record and have cycled faster than they have done their

:08:40. > :08:42.lives. They were tidier. The right together from the first half. It had

:08:43. > :08:52.them about one lap to get on it before. They went about three 10th

:08:53. > :08:58.slower for the first lap. The entire team was gradual. They were almost

:08:59. > :09:03.one seconds slower over the first kilometre. They had decided it was

:09:04. > :09:08.the centre part of the race that was the most ragged. They gave Laura

:09:09. > :09:12.Trott a 2.5 turn in the middle of the race to settle the pace down.

:09:13. > :09:17.That was a positive change because everyone is tucked in nice and

:09:18. > :09:24.tightly on the wheel. When Joanna came up to take over the Chinese to

:09:25. > :09:29.get that 4.1 six. She had to do a monstrous lap and a half term. She

:09:30. > :09:33.had the energy to do that because Laura had protected her team-mates

:09:34. > :09:42.well. There is no set pattern. You do not overlap and a heart every

:09:43. > :09:48.time. -- go for one map and a half. It goes on who has the best legs.

:09:49. > :09:55.You can see Joanna thanking her for that. She settled the pace and give

:09:56. > :10:03.the team the confidence they needed. It was impressive to see. The big

:10:04. > :10:08.surprise in the woman's team pursuit, Australia, they are not

:10:09. > :10:16.even in the race for the medals. What happened to them? They did not

:10:17. > :10:20.quite qualify this morning. 4.18.5. You would expect that to be fast

:10:21. > :10:26.enough but the world has moved on so far. Ultimately, in the second

:10:27. > :10:31.right, you have to go superfast. From 4.13 this year to 4.18 this

:10:32. > :10:38.year, it did not cut it. That was the USA smashing them. They had

:10:39. > :10:43.Sarah Hammer and two more riders that retired and when it went up to

:10:44. > :10:47.four micrometres, they brought in three riders. Chloe Dygert is from

:10:48. > :10:53.the road races. The former riders are evenly matched. It used to be

:10:54. > :10:59.Sarah Hammer and pulling that team around but now they are able to

:11:00. > :11:02.continue evenly. That is the British team warming up downstairs. When

:11:03. > :11:07.they come out, they will have the benefit of a huge support. The noise

:11:08. > :11:16.last night was incredible. This is incredible. The 5th-6 race but

:11:17. > :11:17.Australia and Italy. The commentary team is Chris Boardman and Simon

:11:18. > :11:33.Brotherton. COMMENTATOR: We are almost ready to

:11:34. > :11:42.go with Italy and Australia. Francesco Pantano and Silvio Proto

:11:43. > :11:47.said chief. Australia with the Gold Medal one year ago. Three of those

:11:48. > :11:52.riders, two of those riders, Rebecca Wyre Sac has been brought in. She

:11:53. > :11:59.was not only start sheet. Half of this team one one year ago and the

:12:00. > :12:03.wheels have kind of spectacularly in this event. World records being

:12:04. > :12:07.broken 12 months earlier and dethroning the British team who made

:12:08. > :12:13.this event thereon. They came very strong and fell apart. We expected

:12:14. > :12:17.to see them followed up and in the final. A very unusual place to see

:12:18. > :12:21.the Australian four. The world-record holders and defending

:12:22. > :12:26.champions. They were thrashed by the United States this afternoon. Can

:12:27. > :12:31.they remind everybody of the undoubted world-class and talent?

:12:32. > :12:35.And post a good time, albeit for fifth place. I have to say that the

:12:36. > :12:40.Italians as a squad, not just in this discipline but across the board

:12:41. > :12:44.so far, have been impressing. Italy are coming up through the rankings,

:12:45. > :12:49.aren't they? They are performing strongly in the races they have

:12:50. > :12:53.seen. We were talking about the young 19-year-old that is leading

:12:54. > :12:54.the Individual Pursuit race petition at the moment. Incredible right by

:12:55. > :13:05.him. In the Omnium and distance events.

:13:06. > :13:09.They are strong normally. They have a strong road culture Anderson as

:13:10. > :13:13.they get good, they are mopped up into one of the big boot squads.

:13:14. > :13:18.Good to see Italy coming back and we have to see what they are doing. The

:13:19. > :13:22.Australians will not be looking to win this to get first place, they

:13:23. > :13:25.will be looking to show everybody the Harry forced to be reckoned with

:13:26. > :13:37.and that they can still win in Rio de Janeiro.

:13:38. > :13:42.Edmondson was involved in an accident, she collided with the

:13:43. > :13:46.sight of a car, couple of weeks before the championships. There was

:13:47. > :13:50.a sizeable dent in the vehicle but just they banged up me for her and

:13:51. > :13:55.she was OK and able to take her seat on the plane to come to London. You

:13:56. > :14:00.never know whether that takes a little bit out of a rider and if

:14:01. > :14:06.there is residue from that accident. They are travelling at the moment. A

:14:07. > :14:11.very fast first alarm at. Already into the same straight as the

:14:12. > :14:16.Italians. As we have not reached two kilometres, we could see a catch

:14:17. > :14:20.here, if not, we will see a fast time. Australia performing in the

:14:21. > :14:31.manner we would come to expect from them. They were the world champions

:14:32. > :14:34.last year. And also in 2010, this competition has only been held eight

:14:35. > :14:41.times before. Great Britain have won six of the eight world title races.

:14:42. > :14:49.Australia the other two. A changing of the order little bit in the team

:14:50. > :14:55.pursuit. Australia closing in with almost every resolution of the

:14:56. > :14:58.pedals. They are almost certainly going to catch the Italians now.

:14:59. > :15:04.Bearing down quickly, just 40 metres between them. They will get a

:15:05. > :15:08.significant tone now from the Italians. They have them in their

:15:09. > :15:11.sights, being told at the side of the track that they are on schedule.

:15:12. > :15:18.They are aiming for something quick, gone through two calamitous in 2.1

:15:19. > :15:23.zero. Nobody really saw this afternoon coming, the USA had looked

:15:24. > :15:26.very good in the qualifying ride but we did not expect Australia to be

:15:27. > :15:32.beaten in the manner they were beaten. They were walloped by the

:15:33. > :15:37.Americans earlier today. As you can see, Australia have put that bind

:15:38. > :15:49.them. A problem, they are down to three now. We saw some slowed

:15:50. > :15:53.changes early on. But they are inside one K to go, they have

:15:54. > :15:57.shelter from the Italians, they are also down to three so it won't be a

:15:58. > :16:01.problem but they are right on the edge, they do not look like they are

:16:02. > :16:06.holding it together, dragging it on the previous round. Less than three

:16:07. > :16:10.laps to go as Australia make the catch on Italy, just as the third

:16:11. > :16:16.rider was beginning to lose contact with the other two. The rider at the

:16:17. > :16:29.back for Australia was Ashlee Ankudinoff. 3.14.379 and Italy with

:16:30. > :16:33.3.21.1 12. If that had gone the full distance, the way the team was

:16:34. > :16:37.looking, they started off technically well, nicely into

:16:38. > :16:42.position but a disparity in form in that team and I think they would

:16:43. > :16:47.have blown apart again. We saw fractures beginning to appear. They

:16:48. > :16:51.were about to lose their third rider so I think they would have had the

:16:52. > :17:00.same problem. They have some serious issues to sort out between now and

:17:01. > :17:03.the summer. Their was considerably quicker than China and Poland in the

:17:04. > :17:11.race before but we would expect that. Australia complete what has

:17:12. > :17:15.been a disappointing World Championship in terms of the women's

:17:16. > :17:21.team pursuit. Gary Sutton is their coach with much to ponder. Rio is

:17:22. > :17:26.still a few months away and still some time to make some adjustments

:17:27. > :17:31.which they will, it would seem they definitely need to make them. The

:17:32. > :17:38.fork and into Mark, we have not had that long for the women, the

:17:39. > :17:43.countries are still finding their feet with the new discipline now.

:17:44. > :17:48.Playing around with the strength in depth. Particularly in the women's

:17:49. > :17:54.group, there are a lot of teams in the hunt and it is a great

:17:55. > :17:59.competition to watch. Those people in the crowd who bought their

:18:00. > :18:05.tickets for this evening may have hoped to see a gold medal ride for

:18:06. > :18:11.Great Britain for these four riders. Elinor Barker, Laura Trott, who won

:18:12. > :18:15.the scratch race just 24-hour 's ago and for Johanna Rowsell Shand, that

:18:16. > :18:20.is not the case but at least they have a chance of a medal and that

:18:21. > :18:23.will be some relief after the awfulness of their ride in the

:18:24. > :18:26.qualifying ride but they redeemed themselves earlier today with an

:18:27. > :18:30.excellent ride, much more the sort of thing we have been used to. Great

:18:31. > :18:35.Britain have never ridden faster than they did earlier today albeit

:18:36. > :18:39.no doubt helped by the fact they were catching and did overtake the

:18:40. > :18:44.Chinese. They are the favourites in this ride, that is for sure. They

:18:45. > :18:48.won't be going out to subdue a bronze medal, they will be going out

:18:49. > :18:51.to set a time to give themselves a real work-out and take themselves to

:18:52. > :18:57.the edge and see what they are capable of.

:18:58. > :19:06.Ten seconds to go, join a Rowsell Shand will lead for Great Britain

:19:07. > :19:10.here the first lap. And away we go. Echoes of 2012 here with the roar

:19:11. > :19:20.from the crowd as the rider set off from the starters gate. Rowsell

:19:21. > :19:23.Shand on the front. New Zealand have been consistently on the podium in

:19:24. > :19:29.recent times in this event but they have never been world champions and

:19:30. > :19:36.Great Britain making a fast art. A fast start and Rowsell Shand taking

:19:37. > :19:41.it for a full lap and a half. And three quarters when you are the

:19:42. > :19:47.starter, a big effort at the start. She is getting the effort in the

:19:48. > :19:51.first three kilometres. She in many ways is the anchor of the women's

:19:52. > :19:58.team, she has a fantastic engine, Laura Trott now racing on the front,

:19:59. > :20:03.she peels off. A very short-term. Ciara Horne is right on her wheel. I

:20:04. > :20:09.was expecting a longer term at the start of this race from Laura but

:20:10. > :20:14.she was more injecting the pace there. She is doing a good job of

:20:15. > :20:19.it. So much experience in the British line-up, two of them Olympic

:20:20. > :20:23.champions, Rowsell Shand and Laura Trott and more to come from Great

:20:24. > :20:27.Britain one assumes ahead of Rio with Katie Archibald to come back

:20:28. > :20:31.into this squad as well. She has a knee injury which has kept her out

:20:32. > :20:35.of these World Championships and Great Britain asserting early

:20:36. > :20:42.authority in this race for bronze. A much more steady start compared to

:20:43. > :20:45.the Australians, a second slower. Taking it steady which was the

:20:46. > :20:49.problem in the qualifying ride, they went out too hard and put the team

:20:50. > :20:54.under too much less early on, a wise decision. Laura Trott going to the

:20:55. > :20:58.front, we will see if she does a longer term before peeling off with

:20:59. > :21:02.Elinor Barker right behind her. Ciara Horne is third in the line and

:21:03. > :21:07.tucked in at the back is Johanna Rowsell Shand. It is a much longer

:21:08. > :21:11.term at the front from the world scratch race champion Laura Trott.

:21:12. > :21:17.Not the best of changes from Johanna Rowsell. She had to push on a bit to

:21:18. > :21:22.get back on the wheel and that could cost her a little bit later on. A

:21:23. > :21:26.strong turn from Laura Trott. Elinor Barker takes up the running, still

:21:27. > :21:33.21 years of age and a two-time world champion in this event. Great

:21:34. > :21:37.Britain's lead goes up now, it is over two seconds. I might be

:21:38. > :21:41.tempting fate here after what we have seen in this competition but I

:21:42. > :21:45.think this is no longer about who gets the medal. It is about the

:21:46. > :21:48.times to see what Great Britain can do, they cannot move higher than

:21:49. > :21:53.third place but they can send a message to the rest of the world.

:21:54. > :21:57.Ciara Horne was part of the European team of two years ago. She just

:21:58. > :22:01.peels off the front for Great Britain as we have a quick look at

:22:02. > :22:06.New Zealand, still riding strongly as a four but well behind Great

:22:07. > :22:11.Britain. As a contest, it isn't really one at the moment. Great

:22:12. > :22:18.Britain leading the way by a considerable margin. Nearly a second

:22:19. > :22:20.up on the times of the Australians through this point. Paul Manning,

:22:21. > :22:24.the team coach indicating they are well up on schedule now. Johanna

:22:25. > :22:31.Rowsell Shand looking like she had to work hard to get that back wheel

:22:32. > :22:35.in front of her. The strain is starting to tell and it should be at

:22:36. > :22:39.the speed they are travelling. Thumbs up from Paul Manning, they

:22:40. > :22:43.are doing a good job at working hard, their heads starting to move

:22:44. > :22:49.and straining to stay on the wheels. They have gone through 3000 metres

:22:50. > :22:54.in a faster time than Australia. They are riding really well. As you

:22:55. > :22:59.can see, they are still riding as a four. Making a point after their

:23:00. > :23:05.blip of yesterday. They will come round to take the bell now, the

:23:06. > :23:10.sprint starts now. Just a handful of seconds remaining. Here we go with

:23:11. > :23:14.Great Britain halfway through their final lap. The bronze medal in the

:23:15. > :23:19.bag, Ciara Horne riding on the front, the Forum of them will make

:23:20. > :23:24.it to the line together. Here come Great Britain now. And a time of

:23:25. > :23:30.4.16.540, just marginally slower than earlier today. But the bronze

:23:31. > :23:34.medal was never in doubt. And the crowd have seen a victorious ride

:23:35. > :23:38.for Great Britain but the colour is ultimately bronze rather than the

:23:39. > :23:43.gold they might have hoped for. When you consider how disappointing and

:23:44. > :23:46.how poor that ride was in the qualifying situation, at least they

:23:47. > :23:50.have been able to salvage something from these championships and

:23:51. > :23:56.normally they are so consistent. They can take pride in that ride for

:23:57. > :23:58.sure, a much better team effort, good communication and distribution

:23:59. > :24:05.of the workload. Different lengths of terms, very good ride by Johanna

:24:06. > :24:09.Rowsell Shand. She took a huge turn at the front, I didn't think she was

:24:10. > :24:15.going to make the finish, she might have gone out at three K but they

:24:16. > :24:19.dug deep and finished as a four. It looked in the early stages as if

:24:20. > :24:24.first of all, Laura Trott did a very short-term at the front and then an

:24:25. > :24:27.extra long one next time round. Cautious at the start, won't they,

:24:28. > :24:33.that was the problem in the opening round. I hard turn that put

:24:34. > :24:38.everybody into the red too early in the race, so just backing off a bit

:24:39. > :24:44.so they could finish strongly. Second medal of these championships

:24:45. > :24:48.for Laura Trott. Having won a gold medal yesterday. Elinor Barker,

:24:49. > :24:52.already a two-time world champion at just 21 years of age. Ciara Horne, a

:24:53. > :24:57.World Championship medallist for the first time. What can you say about

:24:58. > :25:02.Johanna Rowsell, so experience. Such a key member of the team for such a

:25:03. > :25:12.long time. A five-time world champion. Part of the Olympic gold

:25:13. > :25:15.medal winning team as well. Not a desperately quick time by their

:25:16. > :25:22.standards, it is right up there but they might have hoped to go quicker.

:25:23. > :25:25.It is four or 5 degrees cooler than it was yesterday and that makes a

:25:26. > :25:31.big difference. The air conditioning has been turned on. Density is

:25:32. > :25:36.everything these kind of events. This is going to be really

:25:37. > :25:40.interesting, Canada and the United States will compete in the final for

:25:41. > :25:46.gold as the Canadians take to the track. Alison Beveridge, Jasmine

:25:47. > :25:53.Glaser, Kirsty Lay and George Baker. Some fantastic background stories

:25:54. > :25:57.for these riders. Looking at the American line-up, Sarah Hammer,

:25:58. > :26:03.seven times world champion, Jennifer Valente as well, silver medallist in

:26:04. > :26:08.the individual pursuit last year. Chloe, who Sarah Storey was talking

:26:09. > :26:11.about earlier on, a double world champion. She only stepped on the

:26:12. > :26:16.track for the first time last October. She was a football player

:26:17. > :26:21.in high school, she had really bad shins Bunsen took up cycling in

:26:22. > :26:31.2012, she was on a talent ID programme in 2014 and has not looked

:26:32. > :26:34.back ever since. They have some real strength in depth for the first

:26:35. > :26:39.time, the American team, it has always been Sarah Hammer, down to

:26:40. > :26:48.her and her form but now they have clicked and got some real talent.

:26:49. > :26:53.And a good coach. They have a double junior world champion, a world

:26:54. > :27:00.medallist and Sarah Hammer, who really is the leader of the team.

:27:01. > :27:06.And Canada as well, George assembling, she was an Olympic skier

:27:07. > :27:09.in the Super G in Vancouver in 2010. She is also a ski cross World Cup

:27:10. > :27:14.medallist on five occasions and now looking to go to Rio in track

:27:15. > :27:18.cycling. Kirsty Lay, former speed skater. Jasmine Glazer and Olympic

:27:19. > :27:24.bronze medallist on this track in 2012 in the team pursuit. And Alison

:27:25. > :27:28.Beveridge, winner of two bronze medals last year, including in this

:27:29. > :27:33.event. Canada will surely end up better than last year, will it be

:27:34. > :27:36.gold or silver? The smart money is on the United States as the team to

:27:37. > :27:41.beat here. They made a blistering start but the Canadians has darted

:27:42. > :27:45.to pull back, I think it is the team who makes the least mistakes to come

:27:46. > :27:49.out as victor here. Everyone pushing it to the limit, we have seen so

:27:50. > :27:53.many teams falling apart in that last kilometre and it takes a lot of

:27:54. > :27:58.experience to hold it together to be in a final and back off over this

:27:59. > :27:59.first kilometre. It is evenly matched, just one tenth of a second

:28:00. > :28:16.in it at the moment. Next time at the line they will be

:28:17. > :28:21.at the one kilometre mark. The United States just edging it so far

:28:22. > :28:26.but a long way to go in this final. Slightly faster than Britain's

:28:27. > :28:30.opening kilometre. They are on a similar schedule at the moment with

:28:31. > :28:34.both teams looking very smooth and well structured. Good changes,

:28:35. > :28:38.getting good height and having the confidence to go high. When they

:28:39. > :28:44.start changing layout that is when you start worrying. They have been

:28:45. > :28:48.excited about the Americans were riding today and the record was

:28:49. > :28:55.under threat in the race against Australia, they did not quite break

:28:56. > :28:58.the world record. There is more to come from the United States over the

:28:59. > :29:04.next couple of years when you think how young half of the team is. Also

:29:05. > :29:09.Canada. The Canadian coaches saying they have got seven riders who are

:29:10. > :29:13.interchangeable, they are back strong. The Canadian team are coming

:29:14. > :29:17.under pressure. They are starting to work hard at the midpoint of this

:29:18. > :29:23.race and have lost more ground. Nearly one second behind. The

:29:24. > :29:29.Americans still have the fastest time we have seen that this evening.

:29:30. > :29:32.Kirsty Lee Riding on the front for Canada and for the United States it

:29:33. > :29:38.is Chloe Dygert who has been described as a freak of nature. The

:29:39. > :29:43.19-year-old. She is very strong despite the relative lack of

:29:44. > :29:51.experience. They do not look inexperienced, very smooth changes.

:29:52. > :29:55.4.16 pace at the moment. The Americans are down to three and that

:29:56. > :30:00.is early for that. They have got a lead but it is not unassailable. It

:30:01. > :30:06.is Kelly Catlin, the 20-year-old who has bailed out. They cannot lose any

:30:07. > :30:11.more, the Americans. Those three have to try to finish together. They

:30:12. > :30:20.are still looking good. I was expecting the Canadians to lose one

:30:21. > :30:25.first. The Americans are still looking like a tight unit but they

:30:26. > :30:30.do not have an alternative plan now. Once you have slowed it down, no one

:30:31. > :30:34.has the legs to pick it up again. The Americans are storming and have

:30:35. > :30:38.got the Canadians on the scene straight now. This is a superb right

:30:39. > :30:46.by the United States who have got two laps to go. The rider leading

:30:47. > :30:54.the way was Chloe Dygert. On the front, number 314. They have got a

:30:55. > :31:03.good buffer and need to hold it together. There is a change in the

:31:04. > :31:07.middle of the street. It is Jennifer Valente who has went to the front

:31:08. > :31:11.and the extra turn of pace on the last lap has split up the Americans

:31:12. > :31:16.which will not help them. Chloe Dygert is trying to get back on. The

:31:17. > :31:23.winning time for the United States is 4.16.8. Canada finishing in 4.1

:31:24. > :31:29.nine. Never any doubt about the outcome but untidy on the final lap.

:31:30. > :31:34.The order has changed in the women's team pursuit because this is an

:31:35. > :31:38.event that is still inside its first decade of existence. It is changing

:31:39. > :31:42.and developing all the time and there are new names and new teams

:31:43. > :31:47.for Great Britain and Australia to look out for this summer. Not least

:31:48. > :31:50.the two we have seen in this World Championship final. It is great for

:31:51. > :31:55.the sport to see the victory is spread around. Great for America to

:31:56. > :32:10.get a victory and will give them the confidence to invent -- in the team

:32:11. > :32:12.and the sport. It is not about going quickly, it is about consistency.

:32:13. > :32:15.Great Britain posted the fastest time this evening but did not do it

:32:16. > :32:18.in the qualifying round and that is when it mattered to make sure you

:32:19. > :32:20.wear in this race. It is the second time they have won a medal in

:32:21. > :32:23.women's team pursuit, they won a Silver Medal and Sarah Hammer was in

:32:24. > :32:27.that final. She is still there at 32 years of age and is the captain of

:32:28. > :32:31.the squad. They have gone one better this time and for the first time,

:32:32. > :32:35.the United States are the women's team pursuit gold medallists. Right

:32:36. > :32:40.from the start when they got out of the starters Kate on that opening

:32:41. > :32:44.lap, they assumed control of the match -- of the race. Canada were

:32:45. > :32:51.not able to put themselves in position to put the Americans under

:32:52. > :32:54.oppression. They got 0.4 of an advantage inside the first lap and

:32:55. > :32:59.did not let it go. The Canadians coming back but never got to be a

:33:00. > :33:03.nose in front. USA take the Gold Medal and Canada finishing with the

:33:04. > :33:08.silver. Great Britain have the bronze medal.

:33:09. > :33:14.Terrific result for the USA and we could here them screaming. They were

:33:15. > :33:19.up for that. World champions for the first time and you can see how much

:33:20. > :33:23.it means. Great Britain and Australia dominated for many years.

:33:24. > :33:29.It is great for the sport. The British fans want to see better

:33:30. > :33:36.results. The legislators did 4.16 point five. It is a better

:33:37. > :33:42.performance but you have to be frustrated. A few are a British

:33:43. > :33:46.cyclist looking at that club, if we had not messed up qualifying we

:33:47. > :33:50.would've won that. -- at the clock. You have to try not to think like

:33:51. > :33:55.that. It gives you confidence. You will have everything to push forth

:33:56. > :33:59.in the final in Rio de Janeiro. Race incidents happen and it is the most

:34:00. > :34:04.brutal place for it to happen, in the World Championships but it is

:34:05. > :34:06.better here than the Olympics. The British quartet were dominant and

:34:07. > :34:15.they looked so beautifully clean. Everything was done beautifully.

:34:16. > :34:20.Laura Trott did two two lap to us. We almost matched the time in the

:34:21. > :34:25.semifinal. How good was at the finished as a tight format? It is

:34:26. > :34:34.very disciplined to be able to do that. She is the extra man in case

:34:35. > :34:38.of an incident. In case there's a puncture. You always want to be

:34:39. > :34:43.there and being able to finish after a lap and three quarters start, from

:34:44. > :34:48.Joanna Rowsell, it is not easy to do that but she is exceptional as an

:34:49. > :34:55.athlete. When the event moved from three to four column at us, she was

:34:56. > :34:59.able to extend her lap at the start. The second medal of the

:35:00. > :35:05.championships for Laura Trott. She still has an event to come. The

:35:06. > :35:08.other three caught up with us. Congratulations, that was about more

:35:09. > :35:14.than a bronze medal, that was about showing how good this team can be.

:35:15. > :35:17.Definitely. We had good winter training in preparation for these

:35:18. > :35:23.championships. We had ups and downs. It was a good performance. In

:35:24. > :35:26.qualifying we tried to be the fastest qualifiers. It is so close

:35:27. > :35:34.at the top of the world, it was too much. We are here to push the

:35:35. > :35:38.boundaries. We could have been conservative and qualified second

:35:39. > :35:46.but we wanted to drop qualification. We came back today and shown the

:35:47. > :35:52.types of times we can write. Fair play to America, they have been

:35:53. > :35:58.strong today with the times. We are over the moon with the bronze medal.

:35:59. > :36:03.It is your first World Championship medal, congratulations, what has

:36:04. > :36:09.changed in this team overnight? In particular that is change, yesterday

:36:10. > :36:15.we went out too hard. We have been working on the speed element which

:36:16. > :36:23.in Brazil will be beneficial. We will aim to go quicker. We put our

:36:24. > :36:27.heads together, let us get this bronze medal. Over the moon. An

:36:28. > :36:33.impressive performance, both in the first round and into that bronze

:36:34. > :36:37.medal race. Eleanor, to back-up two big rides like that, breaking the

:36:38. > :36:41.national record and then another 4.16 is impressive. The national

:36:42. > :36:46.record, I do not think anyone expected that. We are so happy to

:36:47. > :36:56.come across the line. We lived for those moments. As much as it was not

:36:57. > :37:01.a positively qualified fifth, we have ended up any better position

:37:02. > :37:07.than Australia who qualified faster because got fifth. We got to win a

:37:08. > :37:11.bicycle race which is why we do it. Congratulations. I love the

:37:12. > :37:15.simplicity of that. We just have to win the right race. There is Laura

:37:16. > :37:19.Trott, the fourth member of that team. Look at a schedule over these

:37:20. > :37:24.championships. She is doing pretty much everything she can. With the

:37:25. > :37:30.qualifying and the medal races as well, that is as busy as it you can

:37:31. > :37:34.get. It is tough but that is what she prepares for. It is gruelling.

:37:35. > :37:37.It is the cycling equivalent of the heptathlon in order Clapham on. It

:37:38. > :37:48.is the test of an all-round athlete. She has to be fitter than any fit

:37:49. > :37:53.person in the world. Definitely. She is on the top of game. She is able

:37:54. > :37:58.to be on the top of her game on a regular basis. It is impressive.

:37:59. > :38:02.When you get into competition, when you have a break, it is more

:38:03. > :38:07.detrimental than to keep going. In swimming, you see people getting in

:38:08. > :38:14.the pool on every single session, Phelps in Beijing, when you get into

:38:15. > :38:16.competition, it is better. We will move onto the men's individual race.

:38:17. > :38:35.Britain has a guaranteed medal. It is about the team and they have

:38:36. > :38:39.got a bronze medal in Britain between Owain Doull and Andy

:38:40. > :38:45.Tennant. They are friends but still want to win. Chris Boardman is the

:38:46. > :38:49.expert in the Individual Pursuit race the 1992 Olympic champion.

:38:50. > :38:54.Chris, what is the key? What you have to be thinking? You have to

:38:55. > :38:59.focus on being the best of what you can be which is a cliche. Focus on

:39:00. > :39:04.your own performance, not the result. And the schedule. The most

:39:05. > :39:08.important thing about this event is the first 30 seconds. That is when

:39:09. > :39:13.it does not hurt and you can do an awful lot of damage. They need to be

:39:14. > :39:17.very careful at the start but are both experienced riders. I have seen

:39:18. > :39:22.some fantastic riding from both of them. Owain Doull is the story for

:39:23. > :39:26.the male endurance riders since we have been here. He has shown he is

:39:27. > :39:30.capable of riding with the very best in the world. He did a fantastic job

:39:31. > :39:31.in the team pursuit yesterday and back that up with the fast time

:39:32. > :39:42.today. COMMENTATOR: 20 seconds to go until

:39:43. > :39:46.the start. Owain Doull from South Wales. Two-time world silver medal

:39:47. > :39:58.cyst -- silver medallist in the team pursuit. Five seconds to go. An all

:39:59. > :40:00.British race for bronze in the Individual Pursuit race to Andy

:40:01. > :40:06.Tennant is the more experienced of the two of them. He has been a world

:40:07. > :40:12.champion before any team pursuit in Melbourne ahead of the Olympic Games

:40:13. > :40:16.in 2012. The web team mates any team pursuit. Andy Tennant did not get a

:40:17. > :40:23.ride in the final but he wrote in the ride that got them into the

:40:24. > :40:30.final. Owain Doull ran all three times. -- the road. Very strongly

:40:31. > :40:37.will stop Andy Tennant will need all that experience.

:40:38. > :40:46.You do not need to make much a an mistake to have huge advantage taken

:40:47. > :40:52.out. Owain Doull is impressive on the road as well as the track. He is

:40:53. > :40:56.in front just buy a shade. He has been impressive in the two of

:40:57. > :41:05.Britain last autumn. He finished third overall. He has a potential

:41:06. > :41:09.road career on the continent on hold to concentrate on the team with Sir

:41:10. > :41:13.Bradley Wiggins and the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro. He is concentrating

:41:14. > :41:19.on the Individual Pursuit race and has a steady style on the bike. When

:41:20. > :41:24.he was in the qualifiers this morning, he set a new record for the

:41:25. > :41:28.London velodrome. It was subsequently lowered by Philippe

:41:29. > :41:41.Blaugrana and -- Domenic Weinstein. He is an amended form. Andy Tennant

:41:42. > :41:44.will not let it go. The gap is still 0.2 seconds. It is very close and

:41:45. > :41:49.that experience will come to tell and the back-end of this race. Both

:41:50. > :41:53.riders being shown by their respective coaches that they are

:41:54. > :41:59.just about on schedule, slightly behind in the case of Owain Doull.

:42:00. > :42:02.What they have set themselves, I do not know and could have kept it

:42:03. > :42:06.secret from each other. People might be interested to know at home, are

:42:07. > :42:11.they racing to the own schedule, what me and to what extent are they

:42:12. > :42:17.racing against each other rider in terms of where they are at any given

:42:18. > :42:21.moment? It is a good point. Yet another cliche. At the end of the

:42:22. > :42:25.day, you can only do what you are capable of. The best way to write a

:42:26. > :42:30.person, forget the other person and do your own thing. Andy Tennant has

:42:31. > :42:34.just went in front. That is what he has to do. Only in the last

:42:35. > :42:38.kilometre, when you start to get information from the coach telling

:42:39. > :42:49.you about the other person, that is when the ocean can make a

:42:50. > :42:52.difference. This would be eight two men do is finish to this race and

:42:53. > :42:55.still several laps to go. It is really close. Andy Tennant has got

:42:56. > :42:57.the bit between his teeth. Andy Tennant missed out on the ride in

:42:58. > :42:58.the final of the team pursuit yesterday and is looking to make up

:42:59. > :43:13.for it here today. It is about putting together a

:43:14. > :43:19.series. It is about consistency and being to back up right after ride.

:43:20. > :43:25.Andy Tennant the national champion in the individual pursuit. Round

:43:26. > :43:31.they come with three laps to go now. And it is half a second and tenant

:43:32. > :43:35.is really dishing it out here. Still in the realms of the sprint. Less

:43:36. > :43:42.than half a second in it, it can come down to who can go anaerobic

:43:43. > :43:47.and push it in the last few seconds. What a final two laps we will have

:43:48. > :43:50.in this battle for bronze between the British duo, Andy Tennant

:43:51. > :43:57.leading the way at the moment but it is extremely close between tenant

:43:58. > :44:03.and Owain Doull. It is England against Wales and Owain Doull has to

:44:04. > :44:07.find half a second from somewhere in the last lap of this race. Andy

:44:08. > :44:12.Tennant still looks good. Still looks strong but Owain Doull is a

:44:13. > :44:21.scrapper. He will push it all the way to the line. At the end, it has

:44:22. > :44:32.gone to Andy Tennant. Andy Tennant takes it, 4.18.3, a 10th of a second

:44:33. > :44:39.between them. It wasn't the gold but what a race it was. Andy Tennant

:44:40. > :44:44.obviously happy with that, Owain Doull has to bow to the experience

:44:45. > :44:47.there. Maybe that extra ride in the legs makes the difference. Anything

:44:48. > :44:56.can make a difference when it is that close. Great ride by both

:44:57. > :45:01.competitors. Andy Tennant was a picture of concentration and

:45:02. > :45:05.determination. And he was absolutely determined he was not going to let

:45:06. > :45:10.it slip away. Owain Doull lead in the early stages of the race but

:45:11. > :45:16.slowly and surely, Andy Tennant kept his rhythm and kept going and slowly

:45:17. > :45:19.overhauled his younger opponent. He had to get a buffer though, that was

:45:20. > :45:26.some sprint at the end by young Owain Doull. Trying to get

:45:27. > :45:29.everything out here. It was a fantastic finish but you knew that

:45:30. > :45:33.even though it was half a second going into the final lap but Owain

:45:34. > :45:38.Doull was not going to give up and that he would push and fight and

:45:39. > :45:42.scrap to the line. In the end, it was a fantastic race between the

:45:43. > :45:45.pair of them. If the race the gold is as thrilling as that, I don't

:45:46. > :45:52.think anyone in the crowd will be complaining. Andy Tennant, by a hair

:45:53. > :45:56.'s breadth, takes the bronze medal and hopefully he can get his breath

:45:57. > :46:04.back, looking to have a cosy chat on the floor. Congratulations, it is

:46:05. > :46:09.not like you who is tired, I just felt like taking a seat. That was a

:46:10. > :46:15.well timed race, Mr consistency is what they call you, that was a very

:46:16. > :46:19.consistent ride? That is the icing on the cake for me, the World

:46:20. > :46:25.Championships, the interview in Manchester, I was struggling to get

:46:26. > :46:28.a ride in the semi yesterday, I did a decent ride. I was chuffed with

:46:29. > :46:34.that, to come away with an individual bronze medal, if you had

:46:35. > :46:41.said three weeks ago, I would have been betting against myself. Do you

:46:42. > :46:48.know what schedule Owain Doull was riding too? I didn't. Me and Paul

:46:49. > :46:52.went our own way, I got the old boss back so we discussed it. We said

:46:53. > :47:00.14.8, 15.8 and on we went up to 15.7. So we pushed it up a bit. I

:47:01. > :47:06.was like old this and that is what I tried to do and after two K, I was

:47:07. > :47:11.just nudging up. The last couple of laps, he was egging me on so I

:47:12. > :47:17.didn't know where I was, I was just flat-out, looking to flat line. An

:47:18. > :47:20.excellent ride from Andy Tennant, winning the bronze medal but the

:47:21. > :47:27.gold medal race as you can see is just underway and the German rider,

:47:28. > :47:30.Dominic wine stain is up against the rider from Italy, just making the

:47:31. > :47:37.breakthrough at World Championship level. The German is the older of

:47:38. > :47:43.the duo, his opponent just 19 years of age, a fantastic talent, he will

:47:44. > :47:52.be riding on the continental pellet on from the start of next season. On

:47:53. > :47:55.paper it should be a close race, just one tenth of a second between

:47:56. > :48:00.these two in the previous round as well. Simon was looking at some of

:48:01. > :48:06.the splits and pointing out earlier that the Italian has started really

:48:07. > :48:10.slow compared to his finishing time. That says that the Italian has more

:48:11. > :48:14.to give and that is how he has decided to play it this time. They

:48:15. > :48:24.can go out quick and he has done that. The German, Weinstein is

:48:25. > :48:32.coming back at him now. At 21, he is a former world points champion. He

:48:33. > :48:37.was beaten by Stefan Kueng, the young Swiss rider last year but he

:48:38. > :48:41.has been there or thereabouts. A double national champion and here he

:48:42. > :48:45.is in this World Championship final for the first time. Weinstein is an

:48:46. > :48:51.exciting talent, fourth in the junior road time trial a couple of

:48:52. > :48:54.years ago. I don't know if he has been holding back like he did in the

:48:55. > :49:02.previous round but he his Arthur second adrift. Quite a lot to pull

:49:03. > :49:07.back before reaching half distance. He has stemmed the flow and he is

:49:08. > :49:12.holding it there. Let us see if on the split, as he starts his charge.

:49:13. > :49:18.He looks like someone who is looking around. Not someone doing his own

:49:19. > :49:21.ride and schedule, he is looking to see what the opposition is doing.

:49:22. > :49:28.Half a second in it on the halfway stage of this race. Ganna riding

:49:29. > :49:31.this in the same manner as he did in the qualifying ride and the first

:49:32. > :49:36.round earlier on, presumably he will be quite comfortable that it is only

:49:37. > :49:40.half a second. At the moment it looks like he is riding a time

:49:41. > :49:47.trial, he does not look focused, his head is moving about. It is just the

:49:48. > :49:52.raw talent at 19 years of age that we are seeing, he has lost another

:49:53. > :49:56.10th of a second so he is not making inroads and lap after lap is

:49:57. > :50:00.slipping away. It will have to be a big finish, maybe he paid for that

:50:01. > :50:04.ride earlier today and has nothing left to give. And it is about being

:50:05. > :50:10.a championship rider, backing up your rights, not just having one

:50:11. > :50:14.good ride but two or three times. Also, still inexperienced at 19

:50:15. > :50:18.years of age. It is not just about your legs but your head as well.

:50:19. > :50:23.Whatever the result, I think we will see a lot more of him. He has lost

:50:24. > :50:29.another 10th of a second. Seven tenths behind now which is a lot of

:50:30. > :50:34.distance, 15 metres or so that they have to turn around in these final

:50:35. > :50:38.kilometres. If he is going to turn this world champ injured final round

:50:39. > :50:42.over the last three laps, he will have to produce a gargantuan effort.

:50:43. > :50:47.How much has Dominic Weinstein got left? The German rider who has led

:50:48. > :50:51.all the way. The Italian is really starting to Moto. Here comes Ganna

:50:52. > :51:03.and the crowd can see it. He has closed it down and suddenly he is in

:51:04. > :51:06.front. In the blinking of an eye, he has turned this world champ injured

:51:07. > :51:09.final on its head. It is a long time since I have seen anything like

:51:10. > :51:12.that. I have to go back to Colin Sturgess's days. The race the gold

:51:13. > :51:17.in the individual pursuit and look at him go, the crowd are loving

:51:18. > :51:22.this. Really getting behind the Italian. He is putting on quite a

:51:23. > :51:26.show to take the gold medal. 4.16.141, in the end he won it by a

:51:27. > :51:32.country mile and who would have thought that three laps ago.

:51:33. > :51:36.Unbelievable finish. Colin Sturgess, the Great Britain rider of the late

:51:37. > :51:41.80s, a formidable opponent. He was the only person I had ever seen who

:51:42. > :51:45.did anything like that. Winding up for those last three laps and it

:51:46. > :51:48.played with the head of all of his competitors, they knew that even if

:51:49. > :51:53.they were in front, he would probably beat them in the sprint. He

:51:54. > :51:57.waited and waited and we wondered if he did not have the composure to

:51:58. > :52:00.lift the world title but just when it really mattered in the closing

:52:01. > :52:10.stages of the race, he kicked like a mule. What a ride from the Italian,

:52:11. > :52:15.Ganna, remember the name. He goes out to sell a break, that is for

:52:16. > :52:21.sure. This is what track cycling needs, you need riders with some

:52:22. > :52:25.character and showmanship. To get the crowd on their feet. The crowd

:52:26. > :52:28.here will obviously be cheering British riders for example but they

:52:29. > :52:35.really got behind this Italian when he went for it near the end. We see

:52:36. > :52:38.a lot of emotion with the medal winners, it is a much more spread

:52:39. > :52:41.around and you often get the seasoned riders who are used to

:52:42. > :52:45.winning and they are very happy but it is not the first for them, they

:52:46. > :52:50.have done it before. But we are seeing teams and riders not used to

:52:51. > :52:55.being first and getting that raw emotion and it is fantastic. What a

:52:56. > :53:04.finish, Ganna saved the best till last, he is the New World individual

:53:05. > :53:10.pursuit champion at 19 years of age. Fantastic celebrations, Ganna is the

:53:11. > :53:15.man, only 19 years old, you have to feel sorry for Dominick Weinstein,

:53:16. > :53:19.he had such a lead early on, if you still have enough energy to lift

:53:20. > :53:23.your bike at the end of that, he could have done more laps. Exactly,

:53:24. > :53:30.you tell him. Amazing, the crowd loved that. A classic cat and mouse

:53:31. > :53:35.event, the way he hung on until making the sprint at the end. That

:53:36. > :53:39.was phenomenal. 4.16 as well, that is the time the women were doing 14

:53:40. > :53:45.pursuit and he did that on his own, incredible. Will we have to look out

:53:46. > :53:51.for Italian track cycling in Rio? They used to be Giants of track

:53:52. > :53:56.cycling in the 90s. He is gutted, now I feel terrible. The Italians

:53:57. > :54:00.used to be a strong nation. They basically put all of their eggs in

:54:01. > :54:04.one basket and focused on the road and now it looks as if they will

:54:05. > :54:11.start investing more back in track cycling. We had an all British race

:54:12. > :54:16.for the bronze, that was ebb and flow, Owain Doull went for it early

:54:17. > :54:21.and finished strong. He has a bit more speed than Andy Tennant but he

:54:22. > :54:26.is Mr consistent as we said before. He just had that edge. He said he

:54:27. > :54:29.had a ride less in his legs from the team pursuit but after what he went

:54:30. > :54:34.through in training and not being on the form he hoped for to take a

:54:35. > :54:38.medal. Owain Doull went for a big spent in the last lap and a half and

:54:39. > :54:43.he was shattered afterwards. They both left it out on the track,

:54:44. > :54:46.classic pursuit, nothing in it at all and they both wanted it. They

:54:47. > :54:50.are team-mates and friends but you can see how much it meant for him to

:54:51. > :54:55.win that bronze medal. We saw a bronze medal in the team visit, the

:54:56. > :54:59.one team member we did not hear from was Laura Trott. Another medal and

:55:00. > :55:04.World Championship medal, that meant a lot to the team? Gray it really

:55:05. > :55:10.did, we were disappointed with yesterday, to come back fighting

:55:11. > :55:14.today and I think it was better than we thought we would do. We rode so

:55:15. > :55:17.well as a team. It is the performance we should have done

:55:18. > :55:21.yesterday that was there today, that is what we put out there, and to

:55:22. > :55:26.prove people wrong little bit in how we rode yesterday and to show that

:55:27. > :55:31.we gel well as a team and that was the performance. Root a national

:55:32. > :55:35.record as well and to back it up again. What did you look at last

:55:36. > :55:42.night to put in a performance like that today? Gray we did not spread

:55:43. > :55:46.the effort even the yesterday. We did, everyone was on different

:55:47. > :55:50.levels, some people can give more than others could and we did not use

:55:51. > :55:56.that to our advantage yesterday. And it fell apart a bit. Today we spread

:55:57. > :56:01.the effort on what people had rather than evenly and that is the way it

:56:02. > :56:06.worked and I guess it paid off. The big effort from you in the middle of

:56:07. > :56:10.the race in both rides seem to make a difference? Definitely, in the

:56:11. > :56:15.first round, I had so much gas and that took it out of other people,

:56:16. > :56:18.you assume everybody is going at the same pace and it is all fine and it

:56:19. > :56:24.is not until you change that you see what is going on. For today's rides,

:56:25. > :56:29.we decided my second turn needed to be longer and keep it nice, flat and

:56:30. > :56:34.smooth and by doing that I guess it worked and everybody could give more

:56:35. > :56:40.on the front. How do the legs feel for the Omnium? I feel good.

:56:41. > :56:45.Yesterday gave me the boost to feel good. To write like that with the

:56:46. > :56:51.girls was fantastic and has given me the momentum I need. Best of luck.

:56:52. > :56:54.Laura Trott giving us that interview while the gold medal race for the

:56:55. > :56:58.men's individual pursuit was going on and there she is up on stage with

:56:59. > :57:04.her team-mates receiving their bronze medals for the women's team

:57:05. > :57:08.pursuit. COMMENTATOR: It was a good point made by Elinor Barker, even

:57:09. > :57:12.though they didn't win the gold medal, which is obviously what they

:57:13. > :57:16.came for, they do leave these championships on a high in a sense

:57:17. > :57:21.they won the race they were in. Psychologically that was a better

:57:22. > :57:26.scenario than it might have been. And they also posted the fastest

:57:27. > :57:29.time. That will be very important, it will send that message in the

:57:30. > :57:33.closing hours of this event for them to say that they are still the

:57:34. > :57:37.quickest here, don't forget that, they will be back in the summer and

:57:38. > :57:39.they will get the qualifying right and be in the final. They recovered

:57:40. > :57:58.very well from that disappointment. We are looking at the world

:57:59. > :58:05.champions. Sarah Hammer on the left-hand side. A seven time world

:58:06. > :58:12.champion now. With her is Kelly Catlin, Chloe Dygert and Jennifer

:58:13. > :58:16.Valente. They were stunningly good, it has to be said. They dished out

:58:17. > :58:26.such a fraction to world champions Australia to make it into the world

:58:27. > :58:31.-- into the Gold Medal right. The USA were Silver Medal list in 2011,

:58:32. > :58:37.the only time they have won a medal in the team pursuit and now the

:58:38. > :58:42.other team to beat as we head to Rio de Janeiro. Sarah Hammer is enjoying

:58:43. > :58:46.them on the jersey more than she is enjoying putting it on herself. She

:58:47. > :58:52.has been the lone campaigner for the USA and now she has a strong team to

:58:53. > :58:57.back up and she is loving it. Sarah Hammer has been one of the great

:58:58. > :59:01.rivals of Laura Trott in the Omnium in recent years. Laura Trott

:59:02. > :59:05.starting her on the campaign tomorrow and she has finished with

:59:06. > :59:09.the silver medal in each of the last three years. She was the world

:59:10. > :59:29.champion in 2012 in Melbourne ahead of the Olympic Games.

:59:30. > :59:36.Great Britain finished any much help position than they started. The

:59:37. > :59:41.qualifying rider fell apart at the seams and they were riding weight on

:59:42. > :59:47.the edge. It is a fine line between success and sporting disaster.

:59:48. > :59:51.Bringing a positive from a very poor ride, they responded well and were

:59:52. > :59:57.very good at getting their heads together and riding very strongly as

:59:58. > :00:02.a team in the second and third ride. They moved up well and came into

:00:03. > :00:07.today with a positive attitude. More importantly, they learned from the

:00:08. > :00:13.experiences. The workload amongst the team was not equal, it was not

:00:14. > :00:18.even. They used to themselves as a single resource. What will Australia

:00:19. > :00:23.be thinking? World champions and record-holder is coming in. I was

:00:24. > :00:29.surprised to see them fall apart and then in the rider for the minor

:00:30. > :00:36.place, you do not see Australia... They were heading for similar

:00:37. > :00:40.break-up. They had caught the opposing team, the Italians, they

:00:41. > :00:42.would've been in the same position again. They will go away from the

:00:43. > :02:00.competition very worried. Sarah Hammer, the most experienced

:02:01. > :02:05.of the quartet by far, the most emotional of the four as the

:02:06. > :02:09.Americans salute the crowd, salute the gold medal winning ride. They

:02:10. > :02:12.are the world champions and the team to beat. It is all to play for as we

:02:13. > :02:22.head to the Olympic Tears on the podium, that is what it

:02:23. > :02:28.is about. That is how much it means. We will move onto the men's Omnium.

:02:29. > :02:33.This is the decathlon for cycling. Six different events. Mark Cavendish

:02:34. > :02:38.hoping to get on the podium. Only a podium place would get into the

:02:39. > :02:43.squad for Rio de Janeiro. He wants an Olympic medal, it is the only

:02:44. > :02:53.thing he does not have worked. -- have got. The Omnium began with the

:02:54. > :02:58.Scratch Race. Mark Cavendish was well-placed was the front of the

:02:59. > :03:04.bunch until a coming together with the rider from Colombia. The man

:03:05. > :03:09.from the Isle of Man struggle to stay upright. He fought back to

:03:10. > :03:17.finish in sixth place. Anger Glenn O'Shea of Australia. Thomas Boudat

:03:18. > :03:20.took the victory. In the second discipline, the Individual Pursuit

:03:21. > :03:24.race Mark Cavendish started strongly and was amongst the fastest time

:03:25. > :03:33.with the early splits. He had to dig deep and he came home in 4.27.4 53.

:03:34. > :03:37.Enough to beat former world champion Glenn O'Shea. He is ninth in the

:03:38. > :03:41.overdose than things after two events. Some big performances are

:03:42. > :03:45.needed to make the podium. Mark Cavendish lines up in the

:03:46. > :03:51.elimination of waste which every couple of laps, the last person over

:03:52. > :03:54.the line gets eliminated. The Scratch Race, the Individual Pursuit

:03:55. > :03:59.race then the elimination race. Tomorrow it is the time trial,

:04:00. > :04:04.flying lap and Points Race. It looks complicated but it is not. You have

:04:05. > :04:08.to be finishing in the first three. He has to be consistent now. He

:04:09. > :04:15.cannot afford to have one bad event. The elimination in DVD could be good

:04:16. > :04:24.for him. -- in theory. It just takes one lots of comp -- concentration

:04:25. > :04:27.and you are not doubt. He is very experienced. It is a specific thing

:04:28. > :04:33.to train for and lots of skills required. People are focusing on

:04:34. > :04:39.that. This is something you have to spend a lot of time preparing for.

:04:40. > :04:44.He is up against it but he has the ability and talent, and experience.

:04:45. > :04:49.He is in 13th place at the stage and it will be difficult. We think of

:04:50. > :04:54.him as a sprinter in the road race terms. Sprinter on the road and

:04:55. > :05:00.sprinter on the track, big gap. It is confusing. The rotary sprinter is

:05:01. > :05:06.an injured and athlete that can sprint at the end of the race. If

:05:07. > :05:09.you got up against Jason Kenny, physically, they are different. He

:05:10. > :05:13.you got up against Jason Kenny, has an amazing burst of speed but he

:05:14. > :05:18.is not a pure sprinter. He is about in Germans. Is this one step too far

:05:19. > :05:24.or you expect something special from him tonight and tomorrow to book his

:05:25. > :05:30.place? You rate off at your peril. He is an exceptional athlete. He has

:05:31. > :05:36.won lots of stages on the road races. He is at the highest level on

:05:37. > :05:41.the track. This is a monumental task ahead. It is amazing to want to do

:05:42. > :05:45.it, to put yourself at risk. Definitely. You only need one

:05:46. > :05:53.trashier and everything is on hold for the rest of the road season. --

:05:54. > :05:56.one crash here. There are so many different things to learn, the

:05:57. > :06:03.Colombo to race and the Keirin, doing six different events, and the

:06:04. > :06:10.skills required, the tactics are different. -- the Keirin. You are

:06:11. > :06:17.delivered to the line by your team-mates on the road. He will be

:06:18. > :06:22.up against it. To explain, what does this involve? The last person gets

:06:23. > :06:28.unlimited every other lap. It is a great event for the crowd but it is

:06:29. > :06:32.very nervous for the riders. One dip in concentration and your race is

:06:33. > :06:37.over. The last back wheel across the line of the rider will be limited --

:06:38. > :06:41.eliminated and you're taken at the race. It is exciting and

:06:42. > :06:46.spectacular. Laura Trott is an expert at this and rides this well.

:06:47. > :06:50.She is tactically astute. Mark Cavendish has to be wide awake, he

:06:51. > :06:56.cannot afford to switch off. How do you know you are the last one? There

:06:57. > :07:02.is a man with a gun exclusion Mark they actually have something on your

:07:03. > :07:06.bike. In the old days, you said you did not know it was you and you

:07:07. > :07:10.tried to stay in the bunch. You have your name on the screen and you have

:07:11. > :07:13.a little red thing that flashes. It is like when you order your food any

:07:14. > :07:21.food court and you get a little thing that buzzes. There is an

:07:22. > :07:23.experienced man any food court along with all of your other

:07:24. > :07:25.qualifications. Let us go to the commentator for the men's Omnium

:07:26. > :07:39.elimination race. COMMENTATOR: It is so critical to

:07:40. > :07:44.get off the mark in this race and get a good position. It is a free

:07:45. > :07:49.for all of the line. When that starts flashing, the little light of

:07:50. > :07:54.Mark Cavendish on his handlebars, come in number 16, your time is up.

:07:55. > :08:01.The last person across the line is eliminated. The box flashes and that

:08:02. > :08:05.is you. Every 30 seconds, they have to spend. If you are at the front to

:08:06. > :08:09.get a steady pace but you have to make the effort to sell. If you are

:08:10. > :08:13.at the back, you are sucked around and have to come a long way around.

:08:14. > :08:19.It is a race for the strategist and I hope this is a good race for Mark

:08:20. > :08:23.Cavendish. The elimination race in the men's Omnium. The elimination

:08:24. > :08:33.race is generally a crowd pleaser. None more so... Quinn Laura Trott is

:08:34. > :08:42.riding. Elia Viviani from Italy going to the front. The rider in

:08:43. > :08:45.white is Fernando give the area from Colombia. Lasse Jensen in the red

:08:46. > :08:53.and white of Denmark, the Olympic champion is at the front. Aaron Gate

:08:54. > :08:57.of New Zealand is almost caught out. Next thing over the line we will

:08:58. > :09:01.lose the last rider. Jacob Duehring from the generated states is just

:09:02. > :09:05.off the back. It is 26 metres further to ride around the outside

:09:06. > :09:11.of this track compared to the bottom. That is why the person on

:09:12. > :09:15.the front is quite calm whilst they are sprinting Hell for leather

:09:16. > :09:25.around the outside. Jake Dooling, from California, the first rider to

:09:26. > :09:29.go from --. Two. Mark Cavendish is beautifully positioned in second

:09:30. > :09:38.place. Strategically he is great position. He is monitoring the

:09:39. > :09:43.front. Physically, it is the least stressful to be in second place. The

:09:44. > :09:49.Mexican rider will be the next one to go. Just a rider -- just a

:09:50. > :09:56.reminder, going into this third event, Elia Viviani leads away.

:09:57. > :10:00.Thomas Boudat from France is inferred. Mark Cavendish needs to

:10:01. > :10:07.have a good elimination race. She really does. Elia Viviani was third

:10:08. > :10:13.in both of the previous races and you need to be a jack of all trades.

:10:14. > :10:18.You can not afford a bad race. Mark Cavendish desperately needs a good

:10:19. > :10:23.ride. It looks like the pollen from -- the rider from Poland will be

:10:24. > :10:28.eliminated. Mark Cavendish is in the middle of the pack. Not too bad. It

:10:29. > :10:32.is physically draining to be in that position. You can get away with it

:10:33. > :10:41.for a short while. It is relentless for the riders. Elia Viviani again

:10:42. > :10:45.is at the front. Tim Veldt is coming around the outside, the Dutchman.

:10:46. > :10:56.They are bunching very tightly. The rider from South Korea, Park. He

:10:57. > :11:01.will be the one to go. Mark Cavendish is starting to move up, it

:11:02. > :11:05.is the right time to do it. Just 30 seconds between each of these

:11:06. > :11:18.efforts. It is relentless. Hardly time to catch your breath. The

:11:19. > :11:25.former world champion, Thomas Boudat, comes to the front. Maybe

:11:26. > :11:33.the Belgian rider has went out, the bronze medallist from one year ago.

:11:34. > :11:44.I am surprised by that. Mark Cavendish riding well. Going the

:11:45. > :11:50.wrong way round. Not panicking. It is Lasse Jensen, the Olympic

:11:51. > :11:57.champion from Dunlop -- from Denmark who is out. They come round to the

:11:58. > :12:02.line once again. We thought he had gone last time but now he is. He

:12:03. > :12:06.took the risk of driving down the inside. Then when they start to move

:12:07. > :12:11.around the outside, you have got nowhere to go -- to go. It is high

:12:12. > :12:26.risk. The quickly and down process is kicking in. The young Colombian

:12:27. > :12:37.rider is at the front. Aaron Gate is from New Zealand might go. You can

:12:38. > :12:42.not move backfired. It is time to get physical and force your way into

:12:43. > :12:48.the first two of three riders. Make sure you have got open space. Mark

:12:49. > :12:52.Cavendish is easy to spot with the union flag on his helmet but he is

:12:53. > :12:58.any tight spot. He has pushed his way out. He just gets out of trouble

:12:59. > :13:10.and should do just enough to stay in. The rider from Switzerland drops

:13:11. > :13:15.out. Do not take a believer when you're down at the bottom and in the

:13:16. > :13:16.second position. Nicely done to get out of that hole. He has been boxed

:13:17. > :13:30.in again. Glenn O'Shea from Australia leading

:13:31. > :13:35.the way. The Hong Kong rider on the outside and the rider from Brazil,

:13:36. > :13:44.Montero in a spot of bother but in the end I think it is the Japanese

:13:45. > :13:48.rider who is out. The Japanese road race champion is out. One of the

:13:49. > :13:52.ways you can get through in this is to get somebody underneath and you

:13:53. > :13:56.keep them pinned down. They are your little sacrifice as you like as you

:13:57. > :14:01.come round, Cavendish again, that is exactly what they are trying to do

:14:02. > :14:06.too now, he has found himself in a bit of difficulty but he has pushed

:14:07. > :14:13.out. The ride at the back is very experienced, Cavendish being pushed

:14:14. > :14:20.but the rider who it is out is the rider from Hong Kong. Cavendish just

:14:21. > :14:30.getting himself in front of Vivian on now. Meanwhile, Gaviria sat on

:14:31. > :14:36.the front for lap after lap. Glenn O'Shea taking up the pace. A crash

:14:37. > :14:45.on the inside of the track, the Brazilian rider has hit the deck.

:14:46. > :14:55.Tim felt from the Netherlands has gone. The race will be neutralised

:14:56. > :14:58.as the judges work it out. Overlapping wheels, happens so

:14:59. > :15:06.easily when they are so tightly packed. Speed changing all the time

:15:07. > :15:14.as a concertina over the line. They neutralise the race until they are

:15:15. > :15:23.able to get back in. The adrenaline must go into overdrive when that

:15:24. > :15:26.happens to go through that, some sportsmen, to get back on and carry

:15:27. > :15:38.on racing, it sets an example to other sports which involve all is

:15:39. > :15:45.that I will not mention. Not much of a nights sleep for Tim felt, the

:15:46. > :15:52.race is neutralised but still a lot of strategy being played out as they

:15:53. > :15:56.try to end this mid-July at section with them in the first or second

:15:57. > :16:01.position, constantly rotating and waiting for them to rejoin. Montero,

:16:02. > :16:07.the Brazilian rider went straight to the front, as if to say that it was

:16:08. > :16:15.only a scratch and he is all right. They are back in the race, and Imhof

:16:16. > :16:20.of Team Sky and Italy leads the way. Cavendish on the outside, on the

:16:21. > :16:25.left-hand side as you can see with the Navy and red shorts. We still

:16:26. > :16:30.have the yellow flag up here so the race is still neutralised at the

:16:31. > :16:36.moment. Now they are racing again. Imhof on the front, O'Shea is there

:16:37. > :16:40.as well. Good foot Cavendish acres he is a sprinter type, he has a

:16:41. > :16:45.chance to recover, he was in a good position and benefiting from

:16:46. > :16:50.O'Shea's burst of speed that kept everyone in place, he will benefit

:16:51. > :16:59.from that breather. The race now, Zac Rob being pushed now. Roger Klug

:17:00. > :17:04.trying to stay out of trouble. And while, almost caught out at the bank

:17:05. > :17:11.and the Brazilian rider, Montero is out. I make it about 15 or 16 laps

:17:12. > :17:23.to go now. Before they are down to just two riders. I beg your pardon,

:17:24. > :17:32.it is a team that's to go. O'Shea, Imhof on his wheel. -- Gaviria on

:17:33. > :17:35.his wheel. The Kazakhstan rider. Cavendish is riding this really

:17:36. > :17:40.well, starting to get the feel for it, making sure he is not Oxton and

:17:41. > :17:44.keeping himself on the front foot, he has reacted to everything but

:17:45. > :17:49.also proactively making sure he has space to race. The Kazakhstan rider,

:17:50. > :18:04.second overall in the race going out there. The limpid champion out

:18:05. > :18:12.early, the losing out to. The Russian rider, is at the back. I

:18:13. > :18:21.think Cavendish did benefit from that breather and is riding this

:18:22. > :18:26.extremely well. Looking backwards, keeping himself in good position.

:18:27. > :18:32.The Netherlands staying in by a quarter of a wheel if not less. All

:18:33. > :18:37.of the riders strung out, laying off and taking the others by surprise.

:18:38. > :18:42.It is like a mass sprint every 30 seconds. O'Shea tries to make the

:18:43. > :18:45.move, Roger Klug on the outside. Viviani court at the back at the

:18:46. > :18:51.moment. He has a fair old Turner paste on him and I think it is

:18:52. > :18:56.O'Shea, the Australian. Tim felt watched everybody coming round the

:18:57. > :19:04.outside. He went down the inside and went straight into second position.

:19:05. > :19:12.The 2012 on the champion is out. Cavendish is still there. Gaviria

:19:13. > :19:17.leading the way. Trying to push out. Cavendish not afraid to stand his

:19:18. > :19:20.ground in a bunch like this one. The Dutchman trying to push Cavendish

:19:21. > :19:29.out, his Tour de France experience not having any of that at all. The

:19:30. > :19:33.leader is out. That is a real surprise, third in the last two

:19:34. > :19:38.events, Mark Cavendish having a fantastic ride here. This is what

:19:39. > :19:44.the crowd came to see. Cavendish at the pointy end of the race when it

:19:45. > :19:47.really gets down to business. Gaviria, the young Colombian

:19:48. > :19:51.defending champion. Cavendish just biding his time, has a look round,

:19:52. > :19:57.makes sure he knows exactly where he is, Roger Klug and Thomas Buda

:19:58. > :20:04.behind him. What a clash it was between Roger Klug and the Thomas

:20:05. > :20:10.Buda. Using the other wheels and staying in control. Eight tyres

:20:11. > :20:14.width between them. No elimination, giving a dead heat on that one.

:20:15. > :20:18.Gaviria goes to the front again trying to get a jump on the rest of

:20:19. > :20:25.them. Cavendish sitting on the wheel at the moment. At the back, I think

:20:26. > :20:30.Dutchman will be the one to go, he has to dig deep and he is not going

:20:31. > :20:36.to give up. Pushing hard but I think he will be the man to go, just this

:20:37. > :20:40.time. Interesting strategy by Gaviria to attack in an elimination

:20:41. > :20:49.race. It is a strategy that could work. It was very close on the line.

:20:50. > :20:57.The champion from two years ago has gone. He is puffing and blowing and

:20:58. > :21:02.hanging on and he is about to go but Gaviria leads the way, Cavendish has

:21:03. > :21:11.Roger Klug on his wheel, they neck and neck. Cavendish is nice and

:21:12. > :21:17.safe. The Dutchman has nothing left to give, he can attend to his

:21:18. > :21:22.wounds. Only three left. The big three left in it, Mark Cavendish,

:21:23. > :21:27.Roger Kluger from Germany, the world champion in 2010 and the defending

:21:28. > :21:33.champion, Gaviria makes a move. He goes off the front, Cavendish rolls

:21:34. > :21:38.around behind him. The German rider has had enough. His tank is empty.

:21:39. > :21:45.And Gaviria now leads the way and will come across to take first place

:21:46. > :21:51.over the line. Gaviria comes in first, Mark Cavendish with an

:21:52. > :21:57.excellent ride from him. This was a super ride in the elimination race

:21:58. > :22:01.from Mark Cavendish. Gaviria rolls around the bottom of the track, he

:22:02. > :22:07.knows that Cavendish was quite happy to roll along behind him there. I

:22:08. > :22:10.don't think he had anything left to give, Gaviria could go again and

:22:11. > :22:15.again and showed himself that he will be a strong contender for the

:22:16. > :22:21.points race title here as well. It was Viviani who was the real loser

:22:22. > :22:26.in that. Consistent in the first two rounds but suffering a big blow

:22:27. > :22:30.here. A really good ride from Mark Cavendish, it was excellent but

:22:31. > :22:34.Gaviria, as you say, he timed his effort well to give himself that

:22:35. > :22:40.advantage, well ahead of the final sprint. Cavendish has certainly

:22:41. > :22:44.given the vast majority of the spectators inside the stadium what

:22:45. > :22:50.they came to see tonight. Living in self up to seventh place overall.

:22:51. > :22:58.That is confirmation of the elimination race result. Excellent

:22:59. > :23:02.win for the defending world champion, the experienced for world

:23:03. > :23:11.champion in third. Some big names lost a bit of ground here. Aaron

:23:12. > :23:15.gate, the champion three years ago. And Lasse Norman Hansen, the Olympic

:23:16. > :23:24.champion, in early one to go. Gaviria looking like he might take

:23:25. > :23:31.some beating here. Gaviria and Imhof are perfectly suited riders for this

:23:32. > :23:35.event. Cavendish having some work. It must be such a stressful event to

:23:36. > :23:39.ride, I cannot imagine doing that at this level, it is a carnival event

:23:40. > :23:48.really. That has made its way to the Olympic games. Cavendish was very

:23:49. > :23:51.good, better than I hoped he would be. Strategically he rode it

:23:52. > :24:03.fantastically and moves up to seventh.

:24:04. > :24:11.Very close at the top of the leaderboard, a surprise to see Lasse

:24:12. > :24:14.Norman Hansen down in 10th place and the Belgian rider as well, we

:24:15. > :24:20.thought he might have showed better than he did in the elimination race.

:24:21. > :24:25.He was a big hope for Belgium. Aaron gate, three years ago the world

:24:26. > :24:32.champion, a disappointing ride for him in this event so far. There is

:24:33. > :24:42.the joint leader at the moment. Fernando Gaviria from Colombia, just

:24:43. > :24:45.21 years of age. Well done to him, some real argy-bargy there as well.

:24:46. > :24:50.Cavendish looked very annoyed at the end Connor did he think they had

:24:51. > :24:54.another rotation to go? I think it was questioning whether they fired

:24:55. > :24:58.the gun at the wrong time, normally it comes down to two at the end but

:24:59. > :25:01.with the German capitulating, it looked like the officials thought

:25:02. > :25:05.the gap was so big it was the end of the race. I do not think it would

:25:06. > :25:08.have made a difference, the Colombian looked like a machine but

:25:09. > :25:13.what a race from Mark Cavendish, that is what he needed to get his

:25:14. > :25:16.confidence back and move up the rankings. That is his strength,

:25:17. > :25:20.reading a race and making space for himself. He has been off the track

:25:21. > :25:25.for a while but you could see the brilliance coming back at the end.

:25:26. > :25:30.You can see the desire, can I just make mention of the Netherlands

:25:31. > :25:36.rider, his shirt ripped to bits, shoulder bleeding and he gets up

:25:37. > :25:39.again and finishes fourth. Absolutely, thinking correctly under

:25:40. > :25:42.pressure. It is really difficult, you hit the deck and you have to get

:25:43. > :25:48.back in and get your thoughts straight again and thinking calmly.

:25:49. > :25:52.Your adrenaline is pumping, you will probably know about this more than

:25:53. > :25:57.me but it is really difficult to think straight, he did an incredible

:25:58. > :26:02.job. Let us talk about tomorrow for Mark Cavendish, how much more ground

:26:03. > :26:06.can he make and how much can he make to get to Rio? He cannot afford to

:26:07. > :26:10.have a bad of them now, he has to be consistent, the points race should

:26:11. > :26:14.be a good event, playing into his ability to recover and Sprint. He

:26:15. > :26:19.needs to be consistent and make sure he is not out of the top three or

:26:20. > :26:26.four in each event. Tomorrow we have highlights programme at 1pm that is

:26:27. > :26:31.coming up on BBC One. That will include Laura Trott's gold medal and

:26:32. > :26:36.everything that has happened so far, tomorrow from 7pm, on the red button

:26:37. > :26:39.with the live evening session. You will see the second day of Great

:26:40. > :26:45.Britain against Japan in the Davis Cup as Great Britain continued their

:26:46. > :26:49.defence of that great trophy. It is currently 1-1, the double is coming

:26:50. > :26:52.tomorrow. What a sensational evening it has been off cycling and we will

:26:53. > :26:56.continue on the red button now if you would like to see Jon Dibben in

:26:57. > :27:01.the points race, hopefully see you in a couple of minutes, goodbye.
