0:00:05 > 0:00:09Coming up on this week's Travel Show:

0:00:09 > 0:00:11Is this the original costume?

0:00:11 > 0:00:13We're on the Bruce Lee trail in Hong Kong.

0:00:13 > 0:00:17He wore this in Game of Death.

0:00:17 > 0:00:19Get ready to get behind this taxi...

0:00:19 > 0:00:24I get a lesson in how to take iconic Instagram images from an expert.

0:00:24 > 0:00:27Oh, that's good.

0:00:27 > 0:00:30With new laptop bans on international flights,

0:00:30 > 0:00:34we look at the gadgets you can still take on board.

0:01:04 > 0:01:07Lee Jun-fan, better known as Bruce Lee, may have been born

0:01:07 > 0:01:10in San Francisco, but in the early 1970s, he put both kung fu

0:01:11 > 0:01:13and Hong Kong on the map.

0:01:14 > 0:01:18# Everybody was kung fu fighting #.

0:01:18 > 0:01:21After starring in a succession of cult martial arts movies,

0:01:21 > 0:01:26he became the most famous Asian film star in the world.

0:01:26 > 0:01:28And today, almost 45 years since his untimely death

0:01:29 > 0:01:33at the age of 32, he is still credited as being the man

0:01:33 > 0:01:35who brought Chinese actors and martial arts

0:01:35 > 0:01:38into the mainstream.

0:01:38 > 0:01:46Here in Hong Kong, they're rightly proud of their most famous son.

0:01:46 > 0:01:49Now, the film that really shot Bruce Lee to international stardom

0:01:49 > 0:01:52was Enter the Dragon in 1973, shot mainly on location

0:01:52 > 0:01:56here in Hong Kong.

0:01:56 > 0:02:00And if you're a fan of the film, you might recognise this place,

0:02:00 > 0:02:03King Yin Lei.

0:02:03 > 0:02:06But if you're a real die-hard Bruce Lee fan,

0:02:06 > 0:02:09you'll need to go to Hong Kong's Heritage Museum

0:02:09 > 0:02:17for a unique insight into his legendary life.

0:02:17 > 0:02:19Wow, look at these nunchucks!

0:02:19 > 0:02:21Oh, my goodness!

0:02:21 > 0:02:26Yeah, nunchucks is one of a very significant symbol of Bruce.

0:02:26 > 0:02:29You can see he practiced this kind of weapons

0:02:29 > 0:02:34when he taught his students.

0:02:34 > 0:02:36And then you can see in his first TV programme,

0:02:36 > 0:02:40The Green Hornet.

0:02:40 > 0:02:42Is this the original costume?

0:02:42 > 0:02:44Yeah, yeah.

0:02:45 > 0:02:46This is also the iconic costume.

0:02:46 > 0:02:52You can see he wore this in the Game of Death.

0:02:52 > 0:02:54Game of Death.

0:02:54 > 0:02:55Yeah.

0:02:55 > 0:02:58Then nowadays, you can still see many people who wear this costume

0:02:58 > 0:03:00as a symbol of Bruce.

0:03:00 > 0:03:03Fellow martial arts film actor Victor Kan studied under the iconic

0:03:03 > 0:03:04Wing Chun master, Ip Man.

0:03:04 > 0:03:08And he remembers the very first time he met Bruce Lee at a training

0:03:08 > 0:03:11session back in the mid 1950s.

0:03:11 > 0:03:17He can pick up the movement, things, very quick.

0:03:17 > 0:03:21And because that time was also a social thing,

0:03:21 > 0:03:25"Oh, Wing Chun, we doing all that, all the teenagers in the school."

0:03:25 > 0:03:30But I can say that he done the cha-cha-cha better than Wing

0:03:30 > 0:03:35Chun at that time!

0:03:35 > 0:03:36He was the champion.

0:03:36 > 0:03:37The dance?

0:03:37 > 0:03:39Yeah.

0:03:39 > 0:03:42Exactly!

0:03:42 > 0:03:45What do you think Bruce would think about this exhibition,

0:03:45 > 0:03:47some 40 years after his death?

0:03:47 > 0:03:49Not big enough.

0:03:49 > 0:03:51Should be bigger?

0:03:51 > 0:03:53Oh, yes!

0:03:53 > 0:04:01You don't know how impressive he is still in the whole wide world.

0:04:04 > 0:04:07Inspired to learn some killer kung fu moves myself,

0:04:07 > 0:04:10I head to the Wan Chai district of Hong Kong

0:04:10 > 0:04:13where I've got a date with a man who's passionate about studying

0:04:13 > 0:04:16and preserving Chinese martial arts.

0:04:16 > 0:04:24MUSIC.

0:04:26 > 0:04:28First, the warm up.

0:04:28 > 0:04:33This is the horse stance.

0:04:33 > 0:04:37Orse.

0:04:37 > 0:04:38-- Horse.

0:04:38 > 0:04:39Am I low enough?

0:04:39 > 0:04:40Yes, you are.

0:04:40 > 0:04:43Right, I don't know if I can get up now.

0:04:43 > 0:04:52This is the bow stance.

0:04:52 > 0:04:53Horse stance.

0:04:53 > 0:04:54Horse stance.

0:04:54 > 0:04:55Let's change again.

0:04:55 > 0:04:58This feels more like a workout than a warm up.

0:04:58 > 0:05:00Not sure if I'll be able to walk tomorrow.

0:05:00 > 0:05:02Time to step things up a bit.

0:05:02 > 0:05:04I punch you here, you block with this one.

0:05:05 > 0:05:07OK.

0:05:07 > 0:05:07OK.

0:05:07 > 0:05:08Yeah, good.

0:05:08 > 0:05:13Now you punch.

0:05:13 > 0:05:14OK.

0:05:14 > 0:05:18Whoa.

0:05:19 > 0:05:20I get it now.

0:05:20 > 0:05:24I think I'm going to have a bruise on my arm.

0:05:24 > 0:05:31Now prepare to enter the dragon.

0:05:31 > 0:05:32MUSIC.

0:05:32 > 0:05:35Once upon a time, there were hundreds of small martial arts

0:05:35 > 0:05:37studios like this all over Hong Kong.

0:05:37 > 0:05:39But that's not the case anymore.

0:05:39 > 0:05:43A lot of kung fu schools were actually run in a space

0:05:43 > 0:05:46like this which, unfortunately, over the past 20, 30 years have

0:05:46 > 0:05:49become very unaffordable to the average teacher who simply

0:05:49 > 0:05:54cannot find enough students to justify the rent.

0:05:54 > 0:05:57So I think the first and foremost problem people face in Hong Kong,

0:05:57 > 0:06:02when you talk about continuing the practice of kung fu,

0:06:02 > 0:06:06is lack of space.

0:06:06 > 0:06:07This is the blue house.

0:06:07 > 0:06:10You can't see very much, unfortunately, because of all

0:06:10 > 0:06:11the building work.

0:06:11 > 0:06:14If you're a real martial arts fan, though, there are still some places

0:06:15 > 0:06:18to see here in Hong Kong that Bruce Lee would have recognised

0:06:18 > 0:06:19and maybe even trained at.

0:06:19 > 0:06:23Over there, there's a plaque which says the name of a kung fu

0:06:23 > 0:06:29master whose entire family lived here.

0:06:29 > 0:06:33He organises a kung fu festival here in Hong Kong to keep interest

0:06:33 > 0:06:37in martial arts alive, and reclaiming some of the heritage

0:06:38 > 0:06:40he feels has been lost.

0:06:40 > 0:06:43This place used to buzz with kung fu until I would say

0:06:43 > 0:06:48probably 1970s, 1980s.

0:06:48 > 0:06:49Wow!

0:06:49 > 0:06:53This was one of the really big hubs of kung fu in Hong Kong.

0:06:53 > 0:06:53That's amazing.

0:06:53 > 0:06:56I can't imagine seeing people doing kung fu on the streets.

0:06:56 > 0:06:59Exactly, but that's what really breathed life into the Hong Kong

0:06:59 > 0:07:03community and that's why kung fu was so vibrant.

0:07:03 > 0:07:06If you know where to look, you can still find authentic

0:07:06 > 0:07:10classes, like this one, given by master Li Tin Loi,

0:07:10 > 0:07:15taking place in some of the remaining studios here.

0:07:15 > 0:07:19But it's not just a question of space and high rents that's

0:07:19 > 0:07:21threatening the survival of martial arts in Hong Kong.

0:07:21 > 0:07:24The new generation, they want everything speed.

0:07:24 > 0:07:30They don't have time.

0:07:30 > 0:07:34They want to learn kung fu any style you make possible in two weeks.

0:07:34 > 0:07:36It is not possible.

0:07:36 > 0:07:36Impossible thing.

0:07:36 > 0:07:40But they have no time.

0:07:40 > 0:07:44Recognising that Hong Kong's kung fu heritage is under threat,

0:07:44 > 0:07:47a local university has called on some of the surviving martial

0:07:47 > 0:07:53arts masters of Bruce Lee's generation to take part in a unique

0:07:53 > 0:07:56project, using modern motion-capture technology to document and preserve

0:07:56 > 0:08:03the traditional move that's could one day be lost.

0:08:03 > 0:08:07Let's say 50 years or 100 years from now, there's suddenly a burst

0:08:07 > 0:08:09of new interest in martial arts, these documents,

0:08:09 > 0:08:12which we are creating now, are going to be templates for future

0:08:12 > 0:08:16generations to work with.

0:08:16 > 0:08:28That's what we're really looking to the long-term future.

0:08:28 > 0:08:29Go!

0:08:29 > 0:08:32There's no doubt that films like Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon

0:08:32 > 0:08:35and the Ip Man Trilogy have helped to rekindle an interest

0:08:35 > 0:08:36in martial arts.

0:08:36 > 0:08:37Whoa!

0:08:37 > 0:08:41It's like a concrete block, that is!

0:08:41 > 0:08:43But it's hoped that the motion-capture programme

0:08:43 > 0:08:44here at the university

0:08:44 > 0:08:47will ensure that kung fu and the legend of Bruce Lee survives

0:08:47 > 0:08:49for generations to come, both here in Hong Kong

0:08:49 > 0:08:51and around the world.

0:08:57 > 0:09:01Well, if you're thinking of heading to Hong Kong any time soon,

0:09:01 > 0:09:04here's some Travel Show tips to help you on your way.

0:09:04 > 0:09:07Although this year marks the 20th anniversary of the handover

0:09:07 > 0:09:10between Britain and China, travellers from many countries

0:09:10 > 0:09:15still don't need to apply for a visa to visit Hong Kong.

0:09:15 > 0:09:18As ever, check before you book to make sure you're from one

0:09:18 > 0:09:21of those visa waiver countries, but remember that you will

0:09:21 > 0:09:24definitely need a visa if you plan to travel on to mainland China

0:09:25 > 0:09:29from Hong Kong.

0:09:29 > 0:09:31Chinese New Year is always a good time to visit,

0:09:31 > 0:09:34though you might need to book well in advance

0:09:34 > 0:09:35as hotels are busy.

0:09:35 > 0:09:37Remember, that summers here can be hot and humid.

0:09:37 > 0:09:40Bear that in mind, too.

0:09:40 > 0:09:43There's no shortage of cheap and effective ways to get around

0:09:43 > 0:09:46Hong Kong Island and neighbouring Chau Lei, but if you're looking

0:09:46 > 0:09:50for something a little more traditional, why not jump aboard one

0:09:50 > 0:09:52of these iconic trams?

0:09:52 > 0:09:54Also known as ding-dings.

0:09:54 > 0:09:57The trams operate on six routes every day between Kennedy Town

0:09:58 > 0:10:01and all of the main tourist attractions on Hong Kong Island.

0:10:01 > 0:10:06There you go, ding-ding.

0:10:06 > 0:10:09If you want to get away from the hustle and bustle,

0:10:09 > 0:10:14don't forget Hong Kong is surrounded by dozens of smaller,

0:10:14 > 0:10:16less developed islands, so it's often just a short ferry

0:10:16 > 0:10:26ride away to some peace and quiet or an empty beach.

0:10:26 > 0:10:31Stay with us, because still to come here on the Travel Show:

0:10:31 > 0:10:34As new security measures stop you boarding some flights

0:10:34 > 0:10:37with laptops and tablets, Lucy's here with clever tech

0:10:37 > 0:10:41to take on board.

0:10:41 > 0:10:45What are the best apps to keep me entertained on a long-haul flight?

0:10:45 > 0:10:46Zoom in a bit, not too much.

0:10:47 > 0:10:49Zoom in a little bit, not too much.

0:10:49 > 0:10:52Not too much.

0:10:52 > 0:10:53There you go!

0:10:53 > 0:10:56I get some tips on how to become an Instagram sensation here in Hong

0:10:56 > 0:10:57Kong.

0:10:57 > 0:11:00You could do a street shot with an amazing purple sky that

0:11:00 > 0:11:01would just blow up.

0:11:01 > 0:11:02So don't go away.

0:11:14 > 0:11:17The Travel Show, your essential guide wherever you're heading.

0:11:17 > 0:11:20Laptops, tablets and e-readers are all now banned on many flights

0:11:20 > 0:11:23to the US and UK primarily from airports in the Middle East.

0:11:23 > 0:11:25Both governments have brought in new rules affecting

0:11:25 > 0:11:27different countries, so check first if you're flying

0:11:27 > 0:11:31from any of these places.

0:11:31 > 0:11:35But there are still some gadgets you can use to wile away the hours.

0:11:35 > 0:11:38This week, our run down of the gadgets you can

0:11:38 > 0:11:40still use on board.

0:11:40 > 0:11:43And here's the good news, on some flights you should be allowed

0:11:43 > 0:11:47to take hand-held games consoles.

0:11:47 > 0:11:49So I've been using our state-of-the-art isolation booth

0:11:49 > 0:11:52to see how they fare.

0:11:52 > 0:11:55So this is the new big player on the market,

0:11:55 > 0:11:57it's the Nintendo Switch.

0:11:57 > 0:11:59So the Switch isn't like regular consoles where it combines

0:11:59 > 0:12:01portable on-the-go gaming with traditional

0:12:01 > 0:12:04console-style gaming.

0:12:04 > 0:12:06On the one hand, you connect it to your TV.

0:12:06 > 0:12:09But when you're ready to take it on the move,

0:12:09 > 0:12:11you can simply slide the controllers in the side.

0:12:11 > 0:12:13The graphics look really good.

0:12:13 > 0:12:17What I like as well is that you can connect up to eight conceals.

0:12:17 > 0:12:19Let's say you're travelling with a load of friends,

0:12:19 > 0:12:21you can connect your consoles together for true

0:12:21 > 0:12:22multiplayer-style gaming.

0:12:22 > 0:12:24But I must warn you, games are pricey.

0:12:24 > 0:12:29Bear that in mind if you're going to pick one of these up.

0:12:29 > 0:12:30I would still be careful, though.

0:12:30 > 0:12:33So if you're on a UK-bound British Airways flight

0:12:33 > 0:12:36from the Middle East, you can take these devices on board.

0:12:36 > 0:12:37White Jet2 says you can't.

0:12:37 > 0:12:40It's worth checking with your airline before you fly.

0:12:40 > 0:12:43If you're flying to the US, these devices are definitely off

0:12:43 > 0:12:45the table and all you've got for entertainment will

0:12:45 > 0:12:48be your trusty mobile.

0:12:48 > 0:12:52So while you're in the air, don't think of this as a smartphone,

0:12:52 > 0:12:53this is your entertainment centre.

0:12:53 > 0:12:57So it will pay to choose your apps carefully before you travel.

0:12:57 > 0:13:00Something James here is an expert in.

0:13:00 > 0:13:02James, what are the best apps to keep me entertained

0:13:02 > 0:13:05on a long-haul flight?

0:13:05 > 0:13:08Here's pocketcasts.

0:13:08 > 0:13:11This gives you like feature content, so these are tailored by pocketcast

0:13:11 > 0:13:13to give you the best new podcasts around.

0:13:13 > 0:13:14There's trending stuff.

0:13:14 > 0:13:17If something is really popular, that would appear there at the top.

0:13:17 > 0:13:19Everyone's heard of Netflix.

0:13:19 > 0:13:21They now do offline functionality.

0:13:21 > 0:13:25So you can download a whole TV series to your phone and you can

0:13:25 > 0:13:26watch it on the flight.

0:13:26 > 0:13:29For my last choice, I've gone with Lonely Planet city guides.

0:13:29 > 0:13:31It gives you information for wherever you're landing.

0:13:31 > 0:13:34You get a city guide that you can access offline.

0:13:34 > 0:13:37You don't need to connect to roaming data.

0:13:37 > 0:13:41You can get places to see, eat and even hotel locations.

0:13:41 > 0:13:43It's all there ready and waiting for you.

0:13:43 > 0:13:45No need to connect to the internet again.

0:13:45 > 0:13:46What about battery life?

0:13:46 > 0:13:48Depends on what you're going to be using.

0:13:48 > 0:13:51If you're using Netflix, that's going to take a lot of battery.

0:13:51 > 0:13:54For podcasts, your phone will be sat idle in your pocket

0:13:54 > 0:13:59and just playing audio.

0:13:59 > 0:14:01It won't take that much battery.

0:14:01 > 0:14:04You may want to take a charging cable because some flights allow

0:14:04 > 0:14:05you to charge in the seat.

0:14:06 > 0:14:08If you're flying for a grown-up reason, maybe you're away

0:14:08 > 0:14:11on business, games and apps aren't going to cut it.

0:14:11 > 0:14:16This is the Moleskine smart writing set.

0:14:16 > 0:14:19Yes it looks like a bog standard pen and note pad

0:14:19 > 0:14:21but it's smarter than that, because it can transfer

0:14:21 > 0:14:23your writing, doodles and scribbles into digital form.

0:14:23 > 0:14:26It can even turn them into text by a dedicated application.

0:14:26 > 0:14:29Once you start writing, the app is able to register

0:14:29 > 0:14:31the strokes on the pen.

0:14:31 > 0:14:33It knows that you're hand writing and immediately shows

0:14:33 > 0:14:36you what you're writing on the app.

0:14:36 > 0:14:41You have to press the pen quite hard in order for it to register.

0:14:41 > 0:14:43It seems pretty quick, pretty automatic.

0:14:43 > 0:14:46I also can't draw!

0:14:46 > 0:14:48It's fun, really easy to use.

0:14:48 > 0:14:51I've got to admit, it's cool seeing your scribbles

0:14:51 > 0:14:54transferred into digital form.

0:14:54 > 0:14:57But the question is - what's wrong with a regular note

0:14:57 > 0:15:03pad and pen and taking a picture afterwards?

0:15:07 > 0:15:10Since it was first launched in 2010, Instagram has become one

0:15:10 > 0:15:13of the world's hottest places to upload and share travel photos

0:15:14 > 0:15:16and here in Hong Kong, former Londoner, Edward Barnieh,

0:15:16 > 0:15:19is one of the most liked and shared online photographers,

0:15:19 > 0:15:24capturing the hustle and bustle of the city through his camera lens.

0:15:24 > 0:15:32I went to meet him to pick up some tips.

0:15:32 > 0:15:36This isn't the usual place that most tourists take photos in Hong Kong.

0:15:36 > 0:15:36No.

0:15:36 > 0:15:37Why are we here?

0:15:37 > 0:15:41These are the back streets of Hong Kong.

0:15:41 > 0:15:42It's very gritty.

0:15:42 > 0:15:48It's real life.

0:15:48 > 0:15:51Great thing about Hong Kong is that there's no back of house.

0:15:51 > 0:15:54Basically, whatever anyone's doing, they're doing it right in your face,

0:15:54 > 0:15:59alongside people getting on buses and coming home from school.

0:15:59 > 0:16:01But it's so dreary and it's raining.

0:16:01 > 0:16:03How are you going to get pictures?

0:16:03 > 0:16:03Dreary is good.

0:16:03 > 0:16:06You're going to get people walking with umbrellas.

0:16:06 > 0:16:09You're going to get people soaking wet with no umbrellas.

0:16:09 > 0:16:12Reflections of the lights as the lights come on at night.

0:16:12 > 0:16:13Reflection in puddles.

0:16:13 > 0:16:23Rain is perfect for photography.

0:16:23 > 0:16:26I just got a smartphone, is this OK for pictures?

0:16:26 > 0:16:27Yes, they're great.

0:16:27 > 0:16:32I started with a smartphone that had much worse quality camera than that.

0:16:32 > 0:16:35I was able to capture, with good light, a number of things.

0:16:35 > 0:16:37Yes the focal length is fixed.

0:16:37 > 0:16:40It makes you choose your composition wisely, but it's a great tool

0:16:40 > 0:16:43to learn on before you move onto a camera.

0:16:43 > 0:16:45Zoom in a little bit.

0:16:45 > 0:16:46Not too much.

0:16:46 > 0:16:48Yeah.

0:16:48 > 0:16:51There you go, real life.

0:16:51 > 0:16:53As Edward has over 175,000 Instagram followers,

0:16:54 > 0:17:01I'm in safe hands, as we head off on our side street safari.

0:17:01 > 0:17:04With so much going on around us, I'm having problems

0:17:04 > 0:17:06deciding what to focus on.

0:17:06 > 0:17:07It just seems messy to me.

0:17:07 > 0:17:08With the people?

0:17:08 > 0:17:10See, I like it without the people.

0:17:10 > 0:17:10Right.

0:17:10 > 0:17:14Sometimes the people can offer up a bit of scale as well.

0:17:14 > 0:17:16So just having one person there sometimes gives that kind

0:17:16 > 0:17:18of perspective to someone of what they're looking

0:17:18 > 0:17:34at and the size of it.

0:17:34 > 0:17:36We've got street signs, some colour.

0:17:36 > 0:17:37Captured it all there.

0:17:38 > 0:17:39Oh, thanks.

0:17:39 > 0:17:41You got most of that because your smartphone has

0:17:41 > 0:17:43a wider focal length.

0:17:43 > 0:17:45You are able to get more in.

0:17:45 > 0:17:47Whereas I was packed in quite tight.

0:17:47 > 0:17:49This looks like two different locations.

0:17:49 > 0:17:53Yeah, it's to do with my lens, and the shutter speed I use made it

0:17:53 > 0:17:56darker, and the depth of field gave it more of a dramatic vibe.

0:17:56 > 0:17:58Generally I've got a much closer shot.

0:17:58 > 0:18:03Maybe it looks like it could be somewhere else all together.

0:18:03 > 0:18:06I'm happy with some of the sparks I got flying up there.

0:18:06 > 0:18:07Are you?

0:18:07 > 0:18:08Yeah.

0:18:08 > 0:18:09Looks exciting.

0:18:09 > 0:18:12I would never think to take a picture of this.

0:18:12 > 0:18:12There you go.

0:18:12 > 0:18:19Stick it on Instagram and see what your friends think.

0:18:19 > 0:18:22I have no idea where I am.

0:18:22 > 0:18:24I often think that's the beauty of this, though.

0:18:24 > 0:18:28I can tell you we are very close to one of the major shopping

0:18:28 > 0:18:31districts in Hong Kong, with many tourists, maybe 200

0:18:31 > 0:18:32metres from us right now.

0:18:32 > 0:18:34Really?

0:18:34 > 0:18:36But you wouldn't know it.

0:18:36 > 0:18:39Maybe if you look at that building there, that tall building.

0:18:39 > 0:18:43That is Langham Place, and it's one of the major malls in Hong Kong.

0:18:43 > 0:18:46Because, as I said before, Hong Kong is so densely packed together,

0:18:47 > 0:18:48that's the beauty of it.

0:18:48 > 0:18:51It means when you're looking for photos, you don't have to travel

0:18:51 > 0:18:53far to get what you want.

0:18:54 > 0:18:57I like it, but it was more a quick shoot and run,

0:18:57 > 0:19:02because I was scared the old lady was going to come out and get me.

0:19:02 > 0:19:04A lot of these shots you shoot once.

0:19:04 > 0:19:06If you get it, you get it.

0:19:06 > 0:19:07If you don't, you don't.

0:19:07 > 0:19:10You are very lucky to capture that with an iPhone.

0:19:10 > 0:19:11She is quite far off.

0:19:11 > 0:19:14You've done really well there.

0:19:14 > 0:19:16What works well on Instagram?

0:19:16 > 0:19:19If I want to get maximum likes, what should I take pictures of?

0:19:19 > 0:19:22Architecture, street shots.

0:19:22 > 0:19:26Not so much lately, but an amazing typhoon sunset as well.

0:19:26 > 0:19:29In fact, if you could combine the two.

0:19:29 > 0:19:33A street shot with an amazing purple sky, that would just blow up.

0:19:33 > 0:19:39That would be huge.

0:19:39 > 0:19:42As night falls, we're joined by fellow Instagramers Jess

0:19:42 > 0:19:45and Vivian who also have big followers here in Hong Kong

0:19:45 > 0:19:47and around the world.

0:19:47 > 0:19:50Now the pressure really is on, as I face even more competition

0:19:51 > 0:19:53from the professionals.

0:19:53 > 0:19:57We're in Moan Kok, and we're here to see some of the neon

0:19:57 > 0:19:59lights on Portland Street, one of Hong Kong's

0:19:59 > 0:20:00most famous streets.

0:20:00 > 0:20:03At night, especially after it's rained, you can

0:20:03 > 0:20:05see the streets glow.

0:20:05 > 0:20:07As you can see here.

0:20:07 > 0:20:08It's pretty cool, right?

0:20:08 > 0:20:12Wow.

0:20:12 > 0:20:16With a smartphone, you just have to use what's around you.

0:20:16 > 0:20:19Sometimes at night you can get that really atmospheric

0:20:19 > 0:20:22and get more gritty side.

0:20:22 > 0:20:25You know what, sometimes you just have to be bold.

0:20:25 > 0:20:26That's a good tip.

0:20:26 > 0:20:28Just stand there and wait.

0:20:28 > 0:20:31Patience is everything.

0:20:31 > 0:20:33I quite like that one.

0:20:33 > 0:20:34Yeah that's nice.

0:20:34 > 0:20:36You've got the neon, action shot.

0:20:36 > 0:20:44And he's smiling.

0:20:44 > 0:20:50I don't know.

0:20:50 > 0:20:52Just the smartphone is not very good at night-time.

0:20:52 > 0:20:55I'm feeling they're not - they won't be as good as yours.

0:20:55 > 0:20:56We'll see.

0:20:56 > 0:21:00They were in the day, right!

0:21:00 > 0:21:04So before I go, I want to get the iconic Hong Kong taxi.

0:21:04 > 0:21:08Yes, everybody loves a taxi shot.

0:21:08 > 0:21:12How do I do that with a smartphone?

0:21:12 > 0:21:15It's going to be tough to get that kind of long exposure

0:21:15 > 0:21:18that you're looking for, but I honestly think that we can do

0:21:18 > 0:21:21something slightly different but you're really going to like it.

0:21:21 > 0:21:24We're going to try to get behind the taxi and capture

0:21:24 > 0:21:26the city with the taxi in the foreground.

0:21:26 > 0:21:27OK.

0:21:27 > 0:21:28How does that sound?

0:21:28 > 0:21:28All right.

0:21:28 > 0:21:30Let's give that a try.

0:21:30 > 0:21:35Let's do it.

0:21:35 > 0:21:37Get ready to get behind this taxi.

0:21:37 > 0:21:40All right.

0:21:40 > 0:21:43Now get out there and shoot behind the taxi.

0:21:43 > 0:21:46Oh, that's good.

0:21:46 > 0:21:47Good, good.

0:21:47 > 0:21:49Let me see it.

0:21:49 > 0:21:51That's excellent.

0:21:51 > 0:21:52I prefer that one.

0:21:52 > 0:21:55So crop that one?

0:21:55 > 0:21:56Yeah, absolutely.

0:21:56 > 0:21:57Nice.

0:21:57 > 0:21:59Well done.

0:21:59 > 0:22:02You're a Hong Kong photographer now.

0:22:02 > 0:22:11Now you're pushing it.

0:22:11 > 0:22:14If you want to see more of those pictures, check

0:22:14 > 0:22:15out our social media feeds.

0:22:15 > 0:22:18All the details should be on your screen now.

0:22:18 > 0:22:20That's all we've got time for this week.

0:22:20 > 0:22:23Next week - we head to the South American surfers'

0:22:23 > 0:22:27paradise of Punta de Lobos in Chile in search of the perfect wave.

0:22:27 > 0:22:31I got whacked in the face with about ten waves in a row,

0:22:31 > 0:22:33so I've swallowed most of that water.

0:22:33 > 0:22:35Join us for that if you can.

0:22:35 > 0:22:39Until next time, from me and the rest of the Travel Show team

0:22:39 > 0:22:44here in Hong Kong, it's goodbye.
