:01:22. > :01:29.me bring in a cargo every year, but they all need replacing. The work

:01:29. > :01:39.is likely to cost in excess of 100 million. A few years ago for States

:01:46. > :01:51.cranes have reached the end of their useful life. They are between

:01:51. > :01:56.37 and 60 years old and parts are increasingly difficult to find.

:02:50. > :02:55.pay dispute. The decision was taken by union members last night. Ballot

:02:55. > :02:58.papers are likely to be sent out in the next week also. A JNA spokesman

:02:58. > :03:04.said they were not planning to go on strike, but they were

:03:04. > :03:06.considering other forms of industrial action. The JNA is the

:03:06. > :03:16.island's second-biggest nursing union.

:03:16. > :03:20.

:03:20. > :03:27.There was a near record turnout for Sark's conseiller by-election. Four

:03:27. > :03:32.Woods were elected they are, left to right, Simon Higgins, Hazel Fry

:03:32. > :03:37.-- who topped the poll, Stephen Taylor and Rosanne Byrne.

:03:38. > :03:41.The government is try to kick-start the use the job market. And people

:03:41. > :03:49.make up a high proportion of the unemployed in Jersey and it is a

:03:49. > :03:58.worrying the island's buses. Almost 40 % of those actively seeking work

:03:58. > :04:04.were under 25. Over half of those were teenagers aged 16-19.

:04:04. > :04:07.They arrived at Jersey's Careers Fair by the dozen. There were some

:04:07. > :04:13.refer -- researching their first job and others thinking about their

:04:13. > :04:19.future early. We are looking at what to do when we are older.

:04:19. > :04:24.we are here to make sure we can get jobs in the future. This has helped

:04:33. > :04:39.to adults, to come and have a look at what kind of Korea's there are

:04:40. > :04:48.on offer, what kind of jobs are on offer a. And basically how to get

:04:48. > :04:52.into those jobs. Almost 40 % of those actively seeking work in

:04:52. > :04:57.Jersey are under 25 and bosses hope that this Careers Fair will help to

:05:03. > :05:11.are also 100 jobs up for grabs. Someone who once won his 20 year

:05:11. > :05:17.old Jonathan White. It is frustrating. You keep getting

:05:17. > :05:21.knocked back. You need to keep positive. While this Careers Fair

:05:21. > :05:27.showcases opportunities, there are also other initiatives to help cut

:05:27. > :05:34.youth unemployment. We have a system aimed at a 16-19 year-olds

:05:34. > :05:38.and another system aimed at 20 plus. We have individual personal advice

:05:38. > :05:45.for people under 25. Korea's jersey is there to offer general advice

:05:45. > :05:52.and guidance. The high turnout here it shows a strong will to work at

:05:52. > :05:56.the problem. It's a double celebration for a

:05:56. > :06:01.parish in Jersey. St Martin will soon have the island's first ever

:06:01. > :06:10.female Rector of. For Reverend Gerry Baudains, who is already

:06:10. > :06:14.doing the job of on temporary basis, is now going to be made permanent.

:06:14. > :06:18.The gods must be looking down on this parish as people are still

:06:18. > :06:21.reeling from last night's announcements. The countdown has

:06:21. > :06:28.begun as the St Martin's church will soon be led by the first ever

:06:28. > :06:36.female wrecked a. I am a mother, I have been a foster-parents. I am on

:06:36. > :06:40.the use call panel and I have lots of skills and interests with young

:06:40. > :06:48.people and families. By hope and pray that I will be somebody who is

:06:48. > :06:55.there for all of the people. -- I hope and pray. For the Reverend the

:06:55. > :07:00.churches close to her heart because she was married there. My first

:07:00. > :07:05.child was baptised here. For us as a family it is like coming home.

:07:05. > :07:10.is not the only good news. An anonymous benefactor has offered

:07:10. > :07:15.half a million pounds to refurbish this six-bedroom parish rectory

:07:15. > :07:20.behind be. The announcement came at a parish meeting last night when a

:07:20. > :07:25.vote was being taken on whether to sell this building and build a new

:07:25. > :07:30.one. This is going to keep the rectory in the parish, it will keep

:07:30. > :07:35.in the centre of the village and it is wonderful. The architects are

:07:35. > :07:40.coming in next week to begin converting this 18th century listed

:07:40. > :07:49.building into a habitable family home, just as the Jersey's first

:07:49. > :07:53.female Rector settles into her new role in her parish.

:07:53. > :07:58.You're watching the BBC in the Channel Islands. Later in Spotlight

:07:58. > :08:04.with Simon and Victoria, the gnomes have it, the world's largest

:08:15. > :08:21.has been groundsman at Old Trafford, and he is currently on charge -- in

:08:21. > :08:31.charge of Twickenham. But today, Keith Kent made an important visit

:08:31. > :08:36.

:08:41. > :08:47.It is Keith's job to make sure that the ground at Twickenham remains in

:09:03. > :09:13.Orrell lot of professional grounds and through I am not going to teach

:09:13. > :09:21.to suck eggs. We pass on comments and tips. What did Keith really

:09:21. > :09:28.think? Sweet as a nut. Lovely, lads, well done. Why bring heat to the

:09:28. > :09:31.island in the first place? Keith is at the pinnacle of his career. We

:09:31. > :09:37.asked him to pass on information to our ground staff at grassroots

:09:37. > :09:40.level. What makes a good pitch? Drainage. If you can drain the

:09:40. > :09:48.pitches and get the water away before the play, there is less

:09:48. > :09:51.damage. We do our local groundsman agree? Plenty of water. Keith has

:09:51. > :09:55.been inspecting field found pictures around the island for the

:09:55. > :10:00.past few days and if he is impressed with them as much as he

:10:00. > :10:03.is with the pitch here, there will be smiles all round for Jersey
