:00:31. > :00:33.by paramedics and was pronounced dead at the scene. A man in his 20s

:00:34. > :00:37.has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

:00:38. > :00:42.This was the scene of the crash which happened just after 10 o'clock

:00:43. > :00:47.last night, the junction on Victoria Avenue with First Tower. This is is

:00:48. > :00:50.young man who last his life. 22`year`old, Vitor Dinarte Fernandez

:00:51. > :00:55.worked at Roberts Garage as a cashier. Today, his colleagues said

:00:56. > :00:59.he always had a smile on his face, was positive, upbeat and will be

:01:00. > :01:04.sadly missed. The crash here last night involved two cars, a green

:01:05. > :01:07.Volvo and white Honda. An 18`year`old man and 47`year`old

:01:08. > :01:12.woman were treated in hospital for injuries. A man in his 20s in a

:01:13. > :01:17.third car was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving. The police,

:01:18. > :01:22.ambulance and Fire Service were all here last night. We attended just

:01:23. > :01:26.after 10 o'clock last night and the personnel from ambulance and police

:01:27. > :01:30.were in attendance. The main task was to assist the ambulance

:01:31. > :01:35.personnel with casualties and to make the scene safe. There was a

:01:36. > :01:39.tragic incident and our condolences go out to the family and friends.

:01:40. > :01:42.Flowers were left as a tribute to the man whose life ended here. The

:01:43. > :01:53.police investigation will continue to find out exactly how and why

:01:54. > :01:56.More news now and a Jersey lifeboat crew have been called out to rescue

:01:57. > :02:00.two people stranded at sea this afternoon. The crew were called to

:02:01. > :02:04.the refuge beacon off sea Magistrates Court town just after 2.

:02:05. > :02:08.30. The Jersey Fire and Rescue Service was also called out to help.

:03:23. > :03:27.Sri Lanka and the Philippines typhoon. Sarah is one of two from

:03:28. > :03:33.Guernsey recognised with four others in Jersey, leg being honoured for

:03:34. > :03:36.services to the community. The honours list recognises people of

:03:37. > :03:41.outstanding merit and those who ve committed themselves to the service

:03:42. > :03:46.of the nation. One of those is Sarah Griffiths from Guernsey. She's

:03:47. > :03:50.raised over ?500,000 to help in disaster stones, such as those

:03:51. > :03:52.affected by the typhoon in the Philippines last month that

:03:53. > :03:59.destroyed large parts of the country and left many dead. I feel slightly

:04:00. > :04:05.embarrassed actually because it s more for my volunteers. The team I

:04:06. > :04:10.have are great and it's fantastic. I don't need an award but it's lovely

:04:11. > :04:15.to be honoured and I accept it graciously, but it's really for my

:04:16. > :04:19.team. Also in Guernsey, Jane Le Conte has

:04:20. > :04:22.been recognised with a British Empire medal for services to

:04:23. > :04:27.families with young children. Jane helped set up Home`Start in 200 .

:04:28. > :04:32.Their volunteers support parents experiencing difficult situations. A

:04:33. > :04:37.lot of us recognise that we are very prif dinged in life we have in

:04:38. > :04:42.Guernsey and also identify with certain aspects of people's lives

:04:43. > :04:45.and feel we have something to offer `` privileged. It's hugely

:04:46. > :04:51.rewarding. In Jersey, the former chairman of Oxfam and Christian Aid,

:04:52. > :04:59.Ed Le cane, has been honoured with an MBE for services to charity. Also

:05:00. > :05:02.gaining an MBE is Clive Barton, the President of diabetes Jersey. He

:05:03. > :05:06.says it's been difficult keeping the honour a secret. Absolutely

:05:07. > :05:10.fantastic. I've been bursting to tell everyone for the last four

:05:11. > :05:16.weeks which, for is somebody who's a blabbermouth like me, is difficult

:05:17. > :05:21.to keep quiet. I'm so proud. My family are proud. My father was a

:05:22. > :05:26.CBE so I feel that I went to the Palace for him to get his award so

:05:27. > :05:37.it will be like going back again, 30, 40, 50, 60 years later, whatever

:05:38. > :05:45.it is, so it's fantastic. Rosemary Blampied receives a medal too.
