:00:10. > :00:10.The last Flybe flights between the That's all from us.

:00:11. > :00:18.The last Flybe flights between the Channel Islands and Gatwick will

:00:19. > :00:20.take off this weekend. The airline announced last year it was pulling

:00:21. > :00:23.the service, leaving Guernsey with just one operator on the route ` the

:00:24. > :00:26.States`owned airline Aurigny. Already concerns have been raised

:00:27. > :00:29.about prices now some are claiming the bigger problem will be

:00:30. > :00:37.availability. Penny Elderfield reports.

:00:38. > :00:43.FLYBE TANNOY ANNOUNCEMENT. Something you won't be hearing for

:00:44. > :00:49.much longer. Because by this time tomorrow Flybe won't be flying to

:00:50. > :00:52.Gatwick anymore. Flybe will still have a presence here of course. The

:00:53. > :00:56.flights to other airports like Southampton will continue and in the

:00:57. > :00:59.short`term to help cope with the extra passengers needing to get to

:01:00. > :01:02.Gatwick, Aurigny is actually leasing one of Flybe's jets. That's until

:01:03. > :01:08.its own new one arrives in the summer. But with no competition soon

:01:09. > :01:11.on the route for Guernsey, there's concern Aurigny's prices will go up,

:01:12. > :01:22.particularly when you compare them to some of the fares you can get to

:01:23. > :01:29.fly from Jersey. But Aurigny promises it won't be ripping people

:01:30. > :01:34.off. We are committed to keeping prices under control. There will be

:01:35. > :01:40.plenty of good deals around. The advice is a book early and get a

:01:41. > :01:44.good deal. In the business of booking a lot of flights the cost

:01:45. > :01:48.may be one thing, but for this travel agent it's the availability

:01:49. > :01:53.of flights that's the worry. School holidays coming up, April through

:01:54. > :01:59.the summer and October. And also for December. Prices have gone up

:02:00. > :02:04.slightly but I think they would have gone up anyway even if Flybe was on

:02:05. > :02:07.the route or not. Aurigny has increased the number of flights to

:02:08. > :02:10.Gatwick and says it can meet demand. But the lack of choice for getting

:02:11. > :02:19.there is something Guernsey passengers will now have to get used

:02:20. > :02:22.to. Almost a year since Guernsey woman

:02:23. > :02:25.Sarah Groves was found dead in India, the man accused of murdering

:02:26. > :02:28.her has made another appearance in court. Dutchman Richard de Witt

:02:29. > :02:31.denies all charges. 24`year`old Sarah was found stabbed to death on

:02:32. > :02:35.a houseboat on April sixth last year. The trial has heard from 26

:02:36. > :02:37.witnesses so far. The BBC's correspondent in Kashmir Riyaz

:02:38. > :02:43.Masroor says it's one of the longest trials ever to take place in the

:02:44. > :02:46.region. The prosecution has never been able

:02:47. > :02:55.to present the murder weapon or any direct witnesses. The murder took

:02:56. > :02:58.place in the dead of night. We thought that the case would

:02:59. > :03:03.collapse, but the prosecution looked for more time and the judges gave

:03:04. > :03:12.them it. They asked them to work harder to find out what happened.

:03:13. > :03:15.Nothing conclusive is coming out. A hospital nurse from Guernsey has

:03:16. > :03:18.been ordered to attend anger management classes after being found

:03:19. > :03:20.guilty of slapping a black colleague and shouting racial abuse. The

:03:21. > :03:23.Nursing and Midwifery Council concluded that as Anne Gallacher had

:03:24. > :03:27.since undergone training in Equality and Diversity and wasn't a risk to

:03:28. > :03:30.patient safety, she should not be struck off the nursing register. She

:03:31. > :03:32.will continue to practise under several conditions, including

:03:33. > :03:34.completing an anger management course in Guernsey.

:03:35. > :03:38.The debate about changing the voting system in Guernsey has been delayed

:03:39. > :03:41.until July. A motion signed by seven politicians had asked the Assembly

:03:42. > :03:45.to agree that in future Deputies would be elected on an island`wide

:03:46. > :03:48.basis, and that all voters would have the same number of votes as

:03:49. > :03:51.there are seats available. But Deputy Lyndon Trott successfully

:03:52. > :03:57.postponed the issue until a review of government is complete.

:03:58. > :04:01.The union representing baggage handlers at Jersey airport will meet

:04:02. > :04:04.with the company that employs them two weeks today in a bid to avoid

:04:05. > :04:07.any potential industrial action. Some ground staff have raised

:04:08. > :04:10.concerns about possible cuts to their pay and working hours, because

:04:11. > :04:17.Aurigny has taken over Blue Islands' ground handling work. Members of the

:04:18. > :04:21.Unite union are being balloted over whether to take industrial action.

:04:22. > :04:34.The results of that ballot will be announced a week on Monday.

:04:35. > :04:37.There's been a lot made about the death of the high street as online

:04:38. > :04:40.shopping becomes more popular. But one Jersey businessman is fighting

:04:41. > :04:42.back by combining the traditional shop with the internet. Christina

:04:43. > :04:46.Ghidoni reports. Buy online or go into town? It's the

:04:47. > :04:53.battle of the shopping experience as traditional high street shops

:04:54. > :04:55.compete with the internet. But the owner of local online furniture

:04:56. > :05:00.website MyPad.je, Paul Clark is combining the two. He's opening a

:05:01. > :05:03.showroom where customers can touch and try but browse and order online

:05:04. > :05:11.here or at home. There are no cash tills and no money changes hands. We

:05:12. > :05:15.find our busiest day of the week is a Sunday or even innings. People

:05:16. > :05:25.order from their phones, they order from their computers, it is not

:05:26. > :05:30.necessarily... They can do it while they are watching television. This

:05:31. > :05:34.fusion of traditional shopping and the internet has been growing in the

:05:35. > :05:40.UK for years now. So why is Jersey so behind? There is a degree of

:05:41. > :05:45.reluctance that it is inevitable for many retailers. It involves a leap

:05:46. > :05:49.into the unknown for a lot of businesses and it also involves

:05:50. > :05:55.investment. But we are seeing start`up retailers starting to act

:05:56. > :05:58.quite disruptively in certain sectors. I think they are starting

:05:59. > :06:02.to make the longer standing players think carefully about their business

:06:03. > :06:05.models. The MyPad.je showroom opens tomorrow at West Centre with the

:06:06. > :06:06.hope of encouraging islanders to shop in Jersey rather than spend

:06:07. > :06:16.online with big UK retailers. Newsnight is starting on BBC Two.

:06:17. > :06:29.But now the weather. Finally this weekend spring arrives.

:06:30. > :06:34.The temperatures are up, the sunshine will be out and it will be

:06:35. > :06:39.mainly a dry day. We could see temperatures up to 16 or 17 degrees.

:06:40. > :06:43.There are showers around now and there could be a few more showers

:06:44. > :06:49.overnight. But most of them move away by dawn tomorrow morning. We

:06:50. > :06:53.start the day at around seven degrees. Tomorrow afternoon, there

:06:54. > :06:58.will be patchy cloud. But that will move out of the way. What cloud we

:06:59. > :07:03.do see in the afternoon will be high`level cloud making the sunshine

:07:04. > :07:08.hazy. The outlook for Sunday is dry and finance we will see more of the

:07:09. > :07:11.same on Sunday, perhaps a degree or so warmer. The wind are mainly from

:07:12. > :07:16.the south`east and from that direction we get a lot of fine

:07:17. > :07:21.weather. We see a change into next week. By dumping it will be as cold

:07:22. > :07:25.as it has been but we are expecting to see showers on Monday and Tuesday

:07:26. > :07:31.and some of them are turning out to be heavy. That's all from us, have a

:07:32. > :07:32.good weekend. I will leave you with a

:07:33. > :07:39.forward on Saturday night. Now here is Nick Miller with the national

:07:40. > :07:45.forecast. Hello. The clocks go forward this

:07:46. > :07:49.weekend, marking the beginning of British summertime, BST. It has

:07:50. > :07:53.nothing to do with the weather. As the clocks changed last year we were

:07:54. > :08:00.coming out of the March freeze. This year, though, as the clucks

:08:01. > :08:06.change, the weather is warming up. Not clear blue sky, the sun will be

:08:07. > :08:11.hazy but the thunder storms will be gone. It will be mainly dry.

:08:12. > :08:14.And the weather is lively out there this evening. There are bands of

:08:15. > :08:18.rain with hail over western parts of the UK.

:08:19. > :08:23.A bit of rain for parts of the north of England and south-west of

:08:24. > :08:28.Scotland. And lots of hill fog into the Pennines. Mist and fog in the

:08:29. > :08:36.central and eastern areas of England. It is a slow start in the

:08:37. > :08:37.morning. A lot of cloud around first thing. Misty in places. Damp
