:04:57. > :05:00.is no first aid cover, you will draw on resources from the Ambul`nce
:05:01. > :05:03.Service. So that's why they are desperate to recruit enough
:05:04. > :05:06.volunteers. But if they can't, they have to seek help from overseas The
:05:07. > :05:11.St John volunteers are used to helping each other out, espdcially
:05:12. > :05:17.across the islands. When we held the Island Games in 2003, we had the
:05:18. > :05:22.same problems with a big evdnt like that, we need a large number of
:05:23. > :05:26.volunteers. We opened it up to Jersey and a number of people from
:05:27. > :05:30.Jersey came here and we opened it up to the UK and we had voluntders from
:05:31. > :05:33.there also. Some first aid training will be
:05:34. > :05:37.offered to Gamesmakers, but it's not the same depth as the nine lonths of
:05:38. > :05:40.training offered by St John's Ambulance, and won't be enotgh to
:05:41. > :05:44.fill the shortfall. The levdl of training that they will givd to
:05:45. > :05:49.people is much higher than the level that we are planning for our
:05:50. > :05:54.Gamesmakers. As a consequence, it will be a legacy item that people
:05:55. > :05:58.can take away and other events can benefit from it. The recruitment for
:05:59. > :06:01.Gamesmakers has been so successful, the application window is closing a
:06:02. > :06:04.month early. St John's Ambulance need some of that volunteerhng
:06:05. > :06:07.spirit to head their way in time for the Games. People have until
:06:08. > :06:13.September before the opporttnity for first aid training closes.
