:01:26. > :01:28.more expensive product. The promotion angered their competitors
:01:29. > :01:33.who say they don't have a ldvel playing field. Emma Chambers
:01:34. > :01:42.reports. Internet in Jersey is about to get a lot faster. All JT
:01:43. > :01:45.customers across the island will be upgraded to 20`meg broadband next
:01:46. > :01:48.month.Those currently on thd 2`meg service ` the slowest` have been
:01:49. > :01:56.offered the faster speed at the same price they are currently paxing for
:01:57. > :02:09.the next 18 months. Sounds like a good deal, doesn't it? Fastdr
:02:10. > :02:11.internet at a lower price. But this promotion has outraged some
:02:12. > :02:15.customers ` as they will be automatically charged the ftll price
:02:16. > :02:18.of ?22.99 a month after the 18`month promotion. Even if they don't want
:02:19. > :02:23.it. We have to use of taxpaxers money wisely. If other oper`tors do
:02:24. > :02:28.not like what we do they will complain to the regulatory
:02:29. > :02:32.authority. And that is exactly what's happened. Sure and Ndwtel are
:02:33. > :02:37.JT's competitors but also their customers as they buy the broadband
:02:38. > :02:41.from JT. They say this promotion is anti`competitive, as they provide an
:02:42. > :02:46.unlimited service whereas JT won't. They do not give their customers any
:02:47. > :02:54.grasp of intelligence. The customers only find out that is not ?22 9
:02:55. > :02:57.when they start using the sdrvice. The competition authority h`ve now
:02:58. > :03:03.launched an investigation ` and have a few of their own concerns. The
:03:04. > :03:10.risk as they will not be better off. The other risk is that
:03:11. > :03:15.competitors are in a position where they will struggle to offer this
:03:16. > :03:40.product unless something ch`nges in Tam ` `` cams of what is av`ilable.
:03:41. > :03:44.Well,this story sparked a lot of comment on the BBC's social media
:03:45. > :03:52.pages. Andy Jarvis says, "JT should be fined and forced to compdte in a
