:00:26. > :00:31.The big shock wave we can sde there is the actual earthquake as it
:00:32. > :00:34.occurred around about lunchtime and if we look in detail we can actually
:00:35. > :00:37.see a couple of further shocks much smaller which are little
:00:38. > :00:43.aftershocks. Measuring a magnitude of 4.2, today's earthquake hs the
:00:44. > :00:48.biggest recorded in the Channel Islands ` as far as the Met Office
:00:49. > :00:49.are aware of. It happened jtst before 1:00, weather forecasters had
:00:50. > :01:05.It happened just before 1:00, One of the things very diffhcult to
:01:06. > :01:11.predict, at quicks. Some me`sure, if you like, of experience now in terms
:01:12. > :01:16.of the bigger ones but even there, it is still a young science in terms
:01:17. > :01:29.of predicting when they will occur. Channel Islands and we've even had
:01:30. > :01:30.reports it reached as far as France and the southwest of England. The
:01:31. > :01:40.last time the Channel Islands It is really quite scary because you
:01:41. > :01:46.didn't know what it was, I thought perhaps one of the oil tanks had

:01:55. > :01:58.bigger noise which felt likd the rift was caving in. I thought,
:01:59. > :02:03.everybody is going wrong. The whole place seem to shake and everybody

:02:07. > :02:10.experienced a big earthquakd was back in the 1930s, measuring 3. .
:02:11. > :02:14.The islands were due another, as they can occur every 60 years.
:02:15. > :02:18.Forecasters say now the energy has been released ` no more are
:02:19. > :02:25.expected, well for the next 60 years anyway.
:02:26. > :02:28.Concerns are being raised over Guernsey's plans to deal with
:02:29. > :02:33.There are proposals to stord 2, 00 tonnes of it at St Sampson's Harbour

:03:28. > :03:31.with 255 parking spaces there. Gas will be stored at La Collette
:03:32. > :03:34.instead. There's an urgent need for better
:03:35. > :03:38.customer service from Jersex's taxi The responses from over 3,000 people
:03:39. > :03:44.study by Jersey's Consumer Council shows nearly half of people surveyed

:05:14. > :05:18.who you are shooting at the person may have a weak heart. I hope there
:05:19. > :05:22.is consideration given to it and there will be an ambulance behind to
:05:23. > :05:24.safeguard that person because that person could also be an innocent
:05:25. > :05:31.person being shot. weapon is largely safe. Thex say
:05:32. > :05:33.officers will be coached in judging the right situations to deploy it
:05:34. > :05:44.and they are very accountable. Ten Every police officer employdd has a
:05:45. > :05:49.Judy to be able to justify `ny use of force at all. Had to justify even
:05:50. > :05:54.shouting at individuals and we will try everything we can, everxthing at
:05:55. > :05:56.our disposal before resorting to this.

:06:03. > :06:05.tasers could be used right now. Training for all should be complete
