:00:11. > :00:12.Good evening. has been away.

:00:13. > :00:15.The cost of using gas in thd Channel Islands is going up

:00:16. > :00:20.From next month, prices will rise by 2.9% for all customers.

:00:21. > :00:23.Guernsey and Jersey Gas say the company's had a difficult fdw years

:00:24. > :00:27.with fewer people using gas, and it appears warmer weather is to blame.

:00:28. > :00:46.A milder winter and sunny spring means we have been using less gas to

:00:47. > :00:54.cook and heat our homes. Thhs means that earns a and Jersey Gas have not

:00:55. > :01:00.made enough money. Recently, the company has underperformed

:01:01. > :01:04.financially. This is due to out beat being down and consumption being

:01:05. > :01:08.down. This is brought about by the below average warmer weather that we

:01:09. > :01:13.are experiencing in the Channel Islands. This small increasd will go

:01:14. > :01:16.some way to returning as to the acceptable level of income that we

:01:17. > :01:21.require so that we can conthnue with investment into our infrastructure

:01:22. > :01:26.and provide a quality and rdliable service for our customers. Gas

:01:27. > :01:31.prices will increase across the Channel Islands by 0.3% per unit.

:01:32. > :01:38.That equates to just over 10p every day. In Jersey, GST is also added to

:01:39. > :01:43.that figure on your bill, where it is not in Guernsey. Some people say

:01:44. > :01:49.that needs to change. Some of the things that should be getting done

:01:50. > :01:57.is looking at whether GST should apply on fuel. Certainly, it has

:01:58. > :02:01.always been said that that `ffect consumers. With the goods and

:02:02. > :02:07.services tax not yet ruled out for Guernsey, a word of warning. If GST

:02:08. > :02:12.or an equivalent is introduced in Guernsey, then the states should

:02:13. > :02:19.think very carefully about introducing GST on the necessities

:02:20. > :02:24.of life, such as food and ftel. These gas increases will cole at a

:02:25. > :02:28.force `` into force on the 02th of September, but for consumers it

:02:29. > :02:30.really is a Catch`22. A milder winter means they use less gas, but

:02:31. > :02:33.have two pay more for it. Parents in Guernsey

:02:34. > :02:35.and Jersey are now able to block their children from accessing adult

:02:36. > :02:37.content on their smart`phonds. Airtel Vodafone is

:02:38. > :02:39.the first operator in the Channel Islands to offer the option`l and

:02:40. > :02:42.free service that launched today. It means that parents can stop

:02:43. > :02:44.inappropriate or even illeg`l websites appearing on computers

:02:45. > :02:58.tablets and mobile devices. We have been talking to the

:02:59. > :03:04.education Department in both islands. We work very closely with

:03:05. > :03:08.education Guernsey and Jersdy. We do lots of safety initiatives, and it

:03:09. > :03:12.is something we want to do, it is a good thing to do, and we have had

:03:13. > :03:14.significant feedback from otr customers who are parents who are

:03:15. > :03:16.concerned about this, so I `m really pleased that we are able to launch

:03:17. > :03:18.this today. Well, Tourism may not be wh`t

:03:19. > :03:21.it used to be, but in Guernsey The Island's newest micro brewery

:03:22. > :03:24.has seen trade treble And they've got big plans for the

:03:25. > :03:29.future, as Penny Elderfield reports. This is much more than

:03:30. > :03:35.your normal home brew. It's been eight months

:03:36. > :03:53.since all this started and I don't think anybody saw it going

:03:54. > :03:57.as well as it has done. We have got three ales now. We're looking to

:03:58. > :04:01.rotate and come up with, certainly a couple more this year. Then we want

:04:02. > :04:06.to go into bottles for the restaurants, ferries and pl`nes

:04:07. > :04:10.From where it started to whdre it is now, did you ever picture of

:04:11. > :04:17.becoming this? I don't think I imagine it becoming like thhs. It

:04:18. > :04:22.has all come together. It is completely exceeded expectation It

:04:23. > :04:23.is tenfold what I expected. Work on the next concoction that customers

:04:24. > :04:26.can expect to started, with

:04:27. > :04:41.a full time brewer now on board sample has sometimes we start with

:04:42. > :04:45.pre`existing styles and try to modify them. And modernise them

:04:46. > :04:48.Good beer is high`quality ingredients. That is what m`kes it.

:04:49. > :04:50.The Puschang, Lost Tourist and the Wonky Donky beers h`ve

:04:51. > :04:54.But they hope their next crdation will help turn this small btsiness

:04:55. > :05:05.Sark's Carl Hester has helpdd Team GB to a silver medal in the

:05:06. > :05:16.Team mate Charlotte Dujardin rode today, and between

:05:17. > :05:19.the four riders they got enough points for second place behhnd

:05:20. > :05:23.For Carl Hester it's another silver, to go with the silver he won

:05:24. > :05:26.at the world championhips four years ago, and of course that London gold

:05:27. > :05:35.in 2012, when Sark's only post`box was painted gold.

:05:36. > :05:41.It will have to be the roof of the bakery that will have to turn silver

:05:42. > :05:45.or something. I am just verx happy that Sark did that for me whth the

:05:46. > :05:47.gold postbox. I love the Ch`nnel Islands, and I always feel part of

:05:48. > :05:49.it. I still go back every ydar. Heather Watson is out

:05:53. > :05:56.Romanian Sorana Cristea 6`1, 6` . The Guernsey born player was

:05:57. > :06:25.defeated in straight sets, Hello. Good evening. We havd had a

:06:26. > :06:29.bit of a showery picture do today, and those showers are going to

:06:30. > :06:33.persist overnight tonight. Hnto tomorrow, our cloud is beginning,

:06:34. > :06:37.that will bring heavier and more persistent rain for the aftdrnoon,

:06:38. > :06:42.and the winds are strengthening too. For the moment, it is fairly

:06:43. > :06:45.cloudy. We have also got a few showers around. That will continue

:06:46. > :06:49.as the night goes on. The breeze is picking up, but it is a mild picture
