:02:05. > :02:07.And it's smaller, off the main high street stores,

:02:08. > :02:11.like this one in Liberty Wharf, that are being targeted too.

:02:12. > :02:16.We know that people want extra hours and I am asked for it all the time.

:02:17. > :02:19.The tourists in the summer are always shocked

:02:20. > :02:28.Town has become a great place to socialise and we need people to

:02:29. > :02:38.Back on the shop floor, customers in this shop keep spending.

:02:55. > :02:57.continued to fall There's been a 10% drop this year in St Helier,

:02:58. > :03:01.which follows the trend from last year, when the level fell by 30%

:03:08. > :03:15.It's been two years since the States of Guernsey was defrauded

:03:16. > :03:18.of millions of pounds over a rogue payment for its airport upgrade.

:03:19. > :03:19.But the government's not the only target.

:03:20. > :03:23.Guernsey Police say they've seen a significant increase

:03:24. > :03:26.in online crime, which is costing islanders millions of pounds.

:03:27. > :03:29.And it could be because the island is seen

:03:30. > :03:37.Spending time and money online can be more convenient in our busy lives

:03:38. > :03:40.but by entering personal information, it exposes us to a new

:03:41. > :03:47.According to the police, millions of pounds are being stolen in Guernsey

:03:48. > :03:55.And even then, it could be the tip of the iceberg.

:03:56. > :03:58.I think we get a lot of underreporting.

:03:59. > :04:01.That might be an individual who, because of personal embarrassment,

:04:02. > :04:06.may not report the problems, right up to companies who,

:04:07. > :04:11.because of reputational damage, that may cause them to take the hit

:04:12. > :04:18.We would always urge people to report it.

:04:19. > :04:24.The most common cases involve fraudulent emails claiming to

:05:16. > :05:19.And it appears Guernsey is frequently targeted by scammers

:05:20. > :05:23.I would accept that people can perceive those from Guernsey

:05:24. > :05:26.as a soft touch but I would also say that, whatever

:05:27. > :05:29.the truth, it is perceived as an island with lots of money.

:05:30. > :05:33.The advice from the police is to always be wary of

:06:06. > :06:22.That is the late news from us. We will be back at 630 p.m. Tomorrow.

:06:23. > :06:29.`` 6:30am to five. I leave you with the weather. We are keeping me

:06:30. > :06:35.unsettled weather for the last `` against few days. Fight at first

:06:36. > :06:40.tomorrow with childless by the evening. Still some showers for the

:06:41. > :06:48.next couple of hours for us but claiming through overnight, leaving

:06:49. > :06:53.us with a dry story. Mild overnight with 15 degrees below. Heading into

:06:54. > :07:00.tomorrow, generally dry first thing. Sunny spells. As we go through the

:07:01. > :07:06.day though, it will become increasingly cloudy. Temperature

:07:07. > :07:14.wise, not bad, but as I say, the cloud is building and eventually,

:07:15. > :07:18.rain will arrive in the evening. Looking ahead to Friday, another

:07:19. > :07:27.unsettled day with the chance of a few showers, increasingly cloudy,

:07:28. > :07:43.and similar for the weekend. Often cloudy but warm.

:07:44. > :07:51.It looks like low pressure will see us out for what is rest of August.

:07:52. > :07:56.It looks as if next week, summer will fight back. Low pressure is

:07:57. > :08:01.approaching the UK. Rainfall totals are not adding up to too much. There

:08:02. > :08:06.is some low cloud and hill fog around. Clearer skies reaching the

:08:07. > :08:09.South West later in the night. Temperatures for Northern England

:08:10. > :08:15.and Scotland going nowhere near as far down as they have done recently.

:08:16. > :08:19.A lot of this rain is coming through overnight, so behind it, many of us

:08:20. > :08:23.will start the day tomorrow dry with some hazy sunshine. The last of that

:08:24. > :08:28.rain beginning to edge away from Eastern Counties of England into the

:08:29. > :08:31.North Sea. And, again, many of us starting dry, drier weather heading

:08:32. > :08:35.into southern Scotland. For northern Scotland, after several days of

:08:36. > :08:41.sunshine, this might come as a shock - the rain won't last all day, much

:08:42. > :08:42.of it will have cleared by the
