:00:14. > :00:16.police in Thailand investig`ting the murder of islander David Miller and

:00:17. > :00:21.Brothers Chris and James Ware were in Koh Tao with the pair,

:00:22. > :00:36.This is David Mellor and Chris and James Ware enjoying a night out in

:00:37. > :00:42.cold towel before David was murdered. Chris and David h`ve been

:00:43. > :00:47.sharing a room. Last night, they were stopped at Bangkok airport as

:00:48. > :00:54.they tried to fly home. No one was answering the door here at the Ware

:00:55. > :01:00.family home. We understand Chris and David were on their way homd here

:01:01. > :01:04.when there were stopped. Brhtish social officials met with Thai

:01:05. > :01:08.forensic experts in Bangkok where the bodies were flown, to ldarn of

:01:09. > :01:12.any progress. Thai authorithes believe they are gathering good

:01:13. > :01:20.evidence of the British offhcials didn't want to comment. Card can't

:01:21. > :01:26.talk any more, thank you. Scores of people attended this servicd in

:01:27. > :01:30.Norwich for Hannah who was found alongside David. Their deaths have

:01:31. > :01:35.led to an outpouring of emotion from both sides of the Channel.

:01:36. > :01:46.Yesterday, police believed their prime suspect was a Bernie 's

:01:47. > :01:53.migrant worker, `` Bernie 's `` Ware.

:01:54. > :01:56.BBC reporter Jonathan Head hs in the island of Koh Tao and said

:01:57. > :02:07.earlier that the Thai policd are under pressure to get a restlt.

:02:08. > :02:20.Burmese they are worried about their image, they have rushed to find a

:02:21. > :02:25.culprit. They have said it lay be someone from the Burmese colmunity.

:02:26. > :02:29.That seemed a strange to many of us, they are trying to get that message

:02:30. > :02:35.straight now. They are being careful in what they are saying, thdy have

:02:36. > :02:38.widened the enquiry and consider these two British suspects `s

:02:39. > :02:41.suspects. A leading economist has told

:02:42. > :02:43.business leaders in Guernsey that GST would be

:02:44. > :02:45.harmful to the island's economy Campaigners against a goods

:02:46. > :02:48.and service tax held a meethng today despite no formal proposals

:02:49. > :03:00.coming from the States yet. The company I work for employees

:03:01. > :03:04.about 40 people may well go out of business. It will be on food,

:03:05. > :03:07.children's clothes, books... Caused by the mention

:03:08. > :03:15.of just three letters. GST, wants to stand for? A goods and

:03:16. > :03:19.services tax. This leading economist was

:03:20. > :03:21.brought in to look at the ilpact Brought in by business groups

:03:22. > :03:25.arguably against it from thd start. And before the States have

:03:26. > :03:29.even decided its happening. But

:03:30. > :03:42.the end conclusion here tod`y, was Mainly because it increases costs,

:03:43. > :03:48.increased the cost of doing business, selling prices as well,

:03:49. > :03:49.also can have a negative effect on equitable fairness across the

:03:50. > :03:50.population. Putting a tax

:03:51. > :03:52.on everything we buy, and use, is just one option the States `re

:03:53. > :03:55.considering to bring in mord money. The actual proposals won't be

:03:56. > :04:03.out until later this year. There are an interlocking sdries of

:04:04. > :04:08.proposals that may come forward we need to understand the impact of

:04:09. > :04:13.them as a whole. For exampld, is a goods and services tax were to come

:04:14. > :04:16.in and that were to be accolpanied by reductions in income tax, what

:04:17. > :04:17.would the economic impact of that be?

:04:18. > :04:21.If this audience is anything to go by though.

:04:22. > :04:30.Raise your hand if you would like to see GST introduced...

:04:31. > :04:33.The States will have to convince a few more people ht's

:04:34. > :04:37.19 candidates will be contesting eight seats for Senator

:04:38. > :04:40.Ten of them are current states lembers.

:04:41. > :04:41.The island`wide vote takes place next month.

:04:42. > :04:46.These are the faces of the 19 senatorial candid`tes who

:04:47. > :04:49.want people in Jersey to vote them into power.

:04:50. > :04:54.Seven current senators have put themselves forward,

:04:55. > :04:58.including Jersey's Chief Minister, Economic Development Ministdr

:04:59. > :05:02.and Treasury Minister, all hoping to get re`elected.

:05:03. > :05:08.Three politicians, Deputies Green, Power and Young, want to move

:05:09. > :05:13.across to the senatorial benches and be voted in by the whole island

:05:18. > :05:22.And there's a number of new faces including a doctor, Zoe Camdron
