:01:04. > :01:06.an illegal service being offered through social media.
:01:07. > :01:09.Jersey Lifts is a Facebook page where peopld are
:01:10. > :01:12.offering or asking for lifts ` many in exchange for money,
:01:13. > :01:18.Not only are drivers breaking the law if they receive a f`re,
:01:19. > :01:20.but recent information has `larmed officers.
:01:21. > :01:28.In just 12 hours, there werd 12 posts asking for or offering lifts
:01:29. > :01:33.This is how popular this Facebook site, Jersey Lifts,
:01:34. > :01:39.A place lifts can be arrangdd between friends and strangers.
:01:40. > :01:42.Information on some of these journeys in the last three
:01:43. > :01:47.At least two drivers are disqualified from driving.
:01:48. > :01:50.One person offering lifts h`s been detained
:01:51. > :01:56.Another male is known to befriend young vulnerable females.
:01:57. > :02:00.Women as young as 17 or 18 `re offering lifts to strangers.
:02:01. > :02:10.And drivers are trying to strike up social meetings after lifts.
:02:11. > :02:15.There is an element of apathy in terms of this being young pdople
:02:16. > :02:20.offering lifts for petrol money but this is different, this is `bout
:02:21. > :02:25.strangers accepting lifts and placing themselves in danger. It is
:02:26. > :02:30.not to shock the public but hopefully get them to listen to what
:02:31. > :02:32.we are saying, this is an unsafe occupation to be engaging whth.
:02:33. > :02:35.One of the drivers we spoke to said they can't get a job
:02:36. > :02:38.because they have a criminal record, so this is a way of making loney.
:02:39. > :02:41.But what drivers may not re`lise is that they are not covered
:02:42. > :02:51.Your insurance company could void your policy in the event of an
:02:52. > :02:54.accident because you are making money if you are delivering
:02:55. > :03:00.passengers, this is something which is not always covered by a policy,
:03:01. > :03:01.so you could be opening yourself to being uninsured in the event of an
:03:02. > :03:04.accident or causing injury. Jersey Police say anyone catght
:03:05. > :03:06.offering illegal taxi services could be prosecuted,
:03:07. > :03:08.and hope those wanting a cheap lift will listen to their
:03:09. > :03:16.advice before getting into the car. After a long day of debate,
:03:17. > :03:18.significant plans to safegu`rd Guernsey's dairy industry h`ve been
:03:19. > :03:21.given the go`ahead. It'll mean changes for everxone
:03:22. > :03:24.from farmers to customers. A short time ago, our reporter Penny
:03:25. > :03:29.Elderfield gave us more det`ils This is all aimed at making sure
:03:30. > :03:39.the dairy industry is here to stay. Picking up on some of the kdy
:03:40. > :03:41.points, milk quotas will be scrapped for farmers.
:03:42. > :03:43.For customers, there won't be a fixed price for milk,
:03:44. > :03:47.And the laws on importing milk will be thghtened
:03:48. > :03:59.That has been a massive grex area that has held up investment in the
:04:00. > :04:04.industry, made it behave in a certain way it is no one wants to
:04:05. > :04:09.move one way or the other, so getting through a new milk ordnance
:04:10. > :04:10.and getting this review through will be the most important thing we can
:04:11. > :04:11.do. The most contentious issue, though,
:04:12. > :04:13.was about doorstep deliverids. Many of the distributors were
:04:14. > :04:21.there to hear the debate. It was important to them because
:04:22. > :04:22.they have built up businessds based on individual rounds.

:08:52. > :08:54.an uphill task taking on South Africa, where netball is
:08:55. > :09:07.Trophies aside, the matches were also about promoting the sport to
:09:08. > :09:18.We are privileged and honoured to be playing Guernsey. A great chance to
:09:19. > :09:22.play against different countries in different areas of the world and see
:09:23. > :09:25.what netball is doing, and hopefully help get some sponsors to promote

:12:43. > :12:46.A derelict site reclaimed by the community.

:12:50. > :12:57.development called Atmos Totnes shaped by local people.

:17:27. > :17:32.is free water providing there was enough industry at a great deal of
:17:33. > :17:33.water to places you need on the farm which is useful for us.
:17:34. > :17:37.Here they've put the system in after agreeing to fence off the stream to
:17:38. > :17:39.stop animals from contaminating the water ` making it safer
:17:40. > :17:43.But South West Water say thdse "papa" pumps,
:17:44. > :17:46.which are made in Cornwall, can also be used to pump water
:17:47. > :17:49.into storage tanks during flooding to be released during dry wdather.
:17:50. > :17:59.So why is the water company trying to offload its farming customers?
:18:00. > :18:06.There has been lots of development as you are aware, more housds the go
:18:07. > :18:10.up means there is more demand on the mains water so if we can encourage
:18:11. > :18:14.farmers to use natural water when there is plenty in abundancd it
:18:15. > :18:18.makes sense to use that watdr rather than the mains.

:18:21. > :18:23.domestic customer who use ldss and pay more than farmers do.

:18:27. > :18:34.similar pumps, they want many more to become self sufficient in water.

:21:50. > :21:53.effort from many people to bring money into the area so we are trying
:21:54. > :21:59.to keep it circulating for `s long as possible. It is an initi`tive
:22:00. > :22:05.that has captured the imagination of this city of Exeter. It is ` city
:22:06. > :22:09.that has a lot of history and pride and identity and we feel thd people
:22:10. > :22:13.of Exeter if they have their own currency will help that comlunity
:22:14. > :22:19.spirit and feeling and get behind local businesses and shops. Back in
:22:20. > :22:27.Totnes, is the currency in circulation? I would like tdn Totnes

:23:22. > :23:24.For those of you with a fear of spiders, it's probably thme to
:23:25. > :23:30.The dry and warm weather we've been enjoying is also proving to be great
:23:31. > :23:34.for spiders who are able to feast on more insects than usual.
:23:35. > :23:37.And 'tube web' or 'cellar' spiders are doing particularly well
:23:38. > :23:39.in the South West, recently spotted in parts of Exeter
:23:40. > :23:46.Despite having green jaws that glow in the dark,
:23:47. > :23:58.They some lovely! Most of the spiders are venomous, they do have
:23:59. > :24:04.some venom to kill their prdy but the vast majority are unabld to bite
:24:05. > :24:09.us because their fangs are not big enough or unable to penetrate skin.
:24:10. > :24:13.It is incredibly rare to get bitten by a spider. Some people have a bit
:24:14. > :24:17.of a reaction and then you get a bacterial infection and that can
:24:18. > :24:20.happen from the scratch of ` bramble or a cat so those other things where
:24:21. > :24:26.you see these horror stories in the paper, my arm dropped off, ht is an
:24:27. > :24:33.infection as a result of people scratching their bites, not the bite
:24:34. > :24:37.itself. That's OK then! The weather is to blame, apparently. David, it
