:00:00. > :00:00.wide spread rural frost predicted we are looking at the I

:00:00. > :00:21.Good evening. Firefighters with Army personnel

:00:22. > :00:25.have been working to try to prevent a water treatment works near Croydon

:00:26. > :00:35.from flooding. An emergency multi`agency meeting took place in

:00:36. > :00:42.south London to assess the risk Anjana Gadgil reports.

:00:43. > :00:47.130 people forced from their homes as Dale Road turned into a lake It

:00:48. > :00:53.sits above an underground river which the recent storms have brought

:00:54. > :00:56.to the surface. It is mixed with sewage and this family were told to

:00:57. > :01:04.leave their garden on Friday. It has just got worse. This morning alone,

:01:05. > :01:09.it has risen by at least an inch. Why do you think it is happening?

:01:10. > :01:14.Around the area there is a flood, and they are blocking those areas so

:01:15. > :01:19.the water has not been allowed to flow and it has no place to go. It

:01:20. > :01:22.is backing up into our properties. This family and their neighbours

:01:23. > :01:26.bring water displaced by flood relief elsewhere is what is

:01:27. > :01:30.submerging their houses and gardens. They have been pumping this water

:01:31. > :01:35.away from ten days now at a rate of 24,000 litres a minute. It is to

:01:36. > :01:41.stop the flood water contaminating the drinking water. The water is

:01:42. > :01:44.being pumped away in these pipes and is going to miles down the road to a

:01:45. > :01:50.reservoir in the middle of Purley. Water from the treatment works is

:01:51. > :01:55.making makeshift reservoirs like this in a church car park. The

:01:56. > :02:00.council denies any land is being sacrificed for the greater good We

:02:01. > :02:03.have for potential areas, a subway, cricket pitch, school pitch and

:02:04. > :02:09.church car park. These are areas that if needed to be flooded, that

:02:10. > :02:13.would not have a detrimental affect. With more rain likely, the family do

:02:14. > :02:17.not know when they can return to their house. They can only watch as

:02:18. > :02:24.the flood relief operation takes place around them.

:02:25. > :02:28.Police hunting for the killers of a teenage student shot dead in a case

:02:29. > :02:30.of mistaken identity have appealed to the families of those responsible

:02:31. > :02:31.to come forward on the first anniversary of the murder.

:02:32. > :02:35.19`year`old Joseph Burke`Monerville from Islington, was shot as he sat

:02:36. > :02:37.in a car in Clapton with his two brothers. The teenager was studying

:02:38. > :02:45.at the London Metropolitan University and a service has been

:02:46. > :02:48.held for him in Hackney. Windsor Castle, which can usually be

:02:49. > :02:53.relied upon to keep drawing tourists in regardless of the weather, seems

:02:54. > :02:55.to have fallen victim to the floods. Although the castle itself has

:02:56. > :02:59.remained dry, flooding in surrounding areas seems to have

:03:00. > :03:08.created a barrier for many, but not all tourists. Alice Solfield

:03:09. > :03:13.reports. It is business as usual at Windsor

:03:14. > :03:18.Castle. The changing of the guard at the Palace where the Queen spends

:03:19. > :03:22.most of her weekends. I have just come to spend some time with the

:03:23. > :03:25.royal couple. If you come just a few hundred meters down the road it is a

:03:26. > :03:32.different story. This area is just a footpath, but at the moment it is

:03:33. > :03:35.almost completely underwater. Communities along the Thames are

:03:36. > :03:41.being warned they are at significant risk. With scenes of widespread

:03:42. > :03:44.damage of nearby areas being broadcast around the world, the

:03:45. > :03:50.council is keen to tell people that despite low level flooding Windsor

:03:51. > :03:55.is still open to tourists. There is things to do in Windsor, they can

:03:56. > :04:02.come shopping, the castle is open as usual. If they can get here, then we

:04:03. > :04:09.are ready to welcome them. Not everyone is so optimistic. Yesterday

:04:10. > :04:16.we closed at 3pm. I think we took in ?7. Today, we have not got any yet.

:04:17. > :04:21.In comparison to last year, we had 30 or 40 people at any one time Now

:04:22. > :04:30.there is barely anyone about. I have been sitting sings 8am. Boat

:04:31. > :04:34.operators have not been able to get onto the river at all yet, and some

:04:35. > :04:38.groups from abroad have cancelled trips they were due to take in May.

:04:39. > :04:43.But Torres who have made it, don't seem to have been put off. I have

:04:44. > :04:50.waited for this trip for many years. And it would not stop us. I was

:04:51. > :04:55.like, wow! You read about it in the news but when you see it in person,

:04:56. > :05:02.it is oh my gosh. But now, it seems the only one enjoying all of the

:05:03. > :05:06.water are the Swans. Let's find out if there's more rain

:05:07. > :05:11.on the way and get the weather forecast with Kate.

:05:12. > :05:18.It was a beautiful day across London but the cloud is on its way. I could

:05:19. > :05:23.make the temperature rise as we head towards daybreak tomorrow. Cloud

:05:24. > :05:27.arriving and with it by dawn, maybe light outbreaks of rain. Should be

:05:28. > :05:32.patchy by the time it gets towards us. Nothing too significant. As we

:05:33. > :05:38.head into the afternoon it should brighten up a little, with a

:05:39. > :05:42.temperature of around 10 Celsius as the maximum. As we had through the

:05:43. > :05:47.rest of the week, some rain around the Tuesday morning, potentially

:05:48. > :05:51.heavy showers around. A dryer, calmer day as we head into Web

:05:52. > :05:54.state. More rain heading our way for Thursday.

:05:55. > :05:57.That's it for now. I'll be back with our late news tonight after the

:05:58. > :05:59.BAFTAs on BBC One at around 11: 5pm. Until then, have a very good

:06:00. > :06:00.evening. Until then, have a very good

:06:01. > :06:19.evening. Whilst we are talking about wet and

:06:20. > :06:24.windy weather in the week ahead we will lose the extremes of last week.

:06:25. > :06:28.The first glow of the week will approach overnight. Clear skies will

:06:29. > :06:30.cause temperatures to fall
