:00:00. > :00:22.day's Good evening. Passengers on a

:00:23. > :00:26.Ryanair flight stranded at Stansted Airport claimed they were left for

:00:27. > :00:29.nearly four hours without food or water and called police to help

:00:30. > :00:34.them. They were not allowed to get off the plane, which was due to fly

:00:35. > :00:37.to Portugal, because the terminal was locked. Jean Mackenzie has this

:00:38. > :00:42.report. There is little babies on board

:00:43. > :00:46.Excuse me! Angry and frustrated this video from on board the plane

:00:47. > :00:51.shows tensions rising of the hours tick by. Passengers can be heard

:00:52. > :00:57.complaining that their requests for food, water and air conditioning are

:00:58. > :01:01.being refused. They were on the 8:25pm evening flight from Stansted

:01:02. > :01:04.to Porto. But delays meant they did not board the plane until just after

:01:05. > :01:08.midnight. They remained there for more than three hours, unable to get

:01:09. > :01:17.back into the terminal building because it was locked. At 3:25am,

:01:18. > :01:20.police forces arrived to help. There is a police officer. We have been in

:01:21. > :01:25.the aeroplane for three and half hours. It happened last Friday as

:01:26. > :01:30.strong winds swept across England. Flights were diverted to Stansted,

:01:31. > :01:33.meaning this plane could not be refuelled on time. Ryanair says the

:01:34. > :01:37.captain made every effort to get passengers back into the terminal.

:01:38. > :01:41.It says after two hours he called the airport's handling company to

:01:42. > :01:46.get them to get passengers back in. When they failed to arrive, he then

:01:47. > :01:50.called the police and in that time water was given out and air

:01:51. > :01:54.conditioning switched on. Swiss port has said staff were under extreme

:01:55. > :01:57.pressure that night, dealing with an unprecedented level of flights. They

:01:58. > :02:00.admit they should have got passengers off the plane sooner but

:02:01. > :02:03.say when they took the call from the captain there was just no one

:02:04. > :02:07.available to do it. The company says it does regret any delay to

:02:08. > :02:13.passengers. There were cheers as the cabin doors opened at 3:45am and the

:02:14. > :02:19.passengers were left off. The flight departed four hours later.

:02:20. > :02:22.Detectives investigating a drive`by shooting on Waterloo Bridge last

:02:23. > :02:27.night are continuing to question three men. The 22`year`old victim

:02:28. > :02:31.survived after being shot by a gunman on a motorbike. He was

:02:32. > :02:35.treated for head injuries but has now left hospital. Police say the

:02:36. > :02:38.area was busy at the time and are appealing for witnesses. Animal

:02:39. > :02:42.charities are calling on the government for a change in the law

:02:43. > :02:45.to protect horses which are being abandoned and left to starve in

:02:46. > :02:51.Essex. They say the recent floods have made the problem worse.

:02:52. > :02:55.Cordelia Hemming is' report contains images which some may find

:02:56. > :02:59.upsetting. Tethered to a date `` gate or dumped at the side of the

:03:00. > :03:04.road. These are a view of the growing number of horses and ponies

:03:05. > :03:11.being neglected in Essex. Some have been left for dead. Holly was

:03:12. > :03:16.pregnant, blind and starving when this sanctuary found her and took

:03:17. > :03:21.her in. But space has now run out. The farm simply can't take any more

:03:22. > :03:25.horses. We could easily have doubled the amount of horses we have got in

:03:26. > :03:29.over the last two months. We are inundated with horses coming in and

:03:30. > :03:34.we can't help them all and all the big organisations are in the same

:03:35. > :03:43.boat. One major issue is fly grazing, when an animal is left to

:03:44. > :03:45.great without permission. It is particularly prevalent in this part

:03:46. > :03:48.of the country. Nearby another horse has been left. This time between a

:03:49. > :03:54.busy road and a railway line. It is tethered up, so the grass will not

:03:55. > :03:58.left long. The recent bad weather has not helped. We are seeing horses

:03:59. > :04:04.dying in fields, horses cut off in water. This is not a criminal

:04:05. > :04:08.offence. Something one charity says needs to change. The hands of the

:04:09. > :04:11.RSPCA and local authorities are tied because we cannot deal with these

:04:12. > :04:17.horses unless we find out who the owners are and because 70% are not

:04:18. > :04:21.properly microchips we do not know who the owners are. The government

:04:22. > :04:25.explained that landowners can bring a civil case against offenders and

:04:26. > :04:30.that it is looking at ways the law could be tightened. But until then

:04:31. > :04:36.sanctuary like this is crucial for horses that have suffered years of

:04:37. > :04:41.neglect. Unite former Arsenal player Dennis Bergkamp has thanked his

:04:42. > :04:44.family and team`mates for helping him shine as a statue of him was

:04:45. > :04:52.unveiled today outside the Emirates Stadium. He scored 87 goals in 50

:04:53. > :04:56.games at Arsenal. The weather tomorrow. Rather cloudy, most places

:04:57. > :05:01.will stay dry. It will be quite windy, temperatures reaching 13

:05:02. > :05:04.Celsius. That is it for now. We will be back tomorrow night just before

:05:05. > :05:13.6:30pm on BBC One. Enjoy your evening, goodbye.

:05:14. > :05:22.Hello. For some places today I am sure it felt that spring is just

:05:23. > :05:26.around the corner. However, looming large, coming in from the Atlantic,

:05:27. > :05:27.this broad belt of cloud and this will bring rain to western hills

:05:28. > :05:29.with
