:00:00. > :00:00.and Thursday. That's it. Now we join the news

:00:00. > :00:10.teams where you are. Tonight on BBC London: Could Boris

:00:11. > :00:13.Johnson be heading for a Colmons comeback? The Mayor plays down, but

:00:14. > :00:20.doesn't rule out standing again as an MP at the next election.

:00:21. > :00:28.My job is to be the Mayor of the city and I was very lucky... I was

:00:29. > :00:33.very lucky to get elected in 20 8, even more lucky to get back in in

:00:34. > :00:36.2012. It is the most wonderful job in British politics.

:00:37. > :00:46.The sub`letting scam. Fighthng the fraudsters conning councils out of

:00:47. > :00:50.much`needed homes. A lesson in the capital 's growing population, the

:00:51. > :00:55.secondary schools building for a bigger future.

:00:56. > :00:58.Simply out of this world. Wd talk to the London company that helped

:00:59. > :01:10.Gravity win an Oscar for its visual effects.

:01:11. > :01:15.Good evening and welcome to the programme. Could a Commons comeback

:01:16. > :01:18.be on the cards for Boris Johnson? Speculation around the Mayor's

:01:19. > :01:21.political ambitions have long been the talk of Westminster and now the

:01:22. > :01:24.ongoing saga is back in the headlines. While insisting he is

:01:25. > :01:28.fully committed to serving out his term at City Hall, the Mayor today

:01:29. > :01:33.refused to completely rule out a return to Parliament before the next

:01:34. > :01:36.election. And as our political correspondent Karl Mercer rdports,

:01:37. > :01:42.that could pave the way for a challenge to the Tory leadership.

:01:43. > :01:51.These are delicious! It is national apprentice wdek, air

:01:52. > :01:55.turning his hands to a new role in the hospitality industry. `` the

:01:56. > :02:00.Mayor. It is unlikely this hs where his future lies and stop thd papers

:02:01. > :02:06.have been saying he has his eyes on a bigger prize and talk of rivalries

:02:07. > :02:10.with other Tories is growing. It is claimed David Cameron and Gdorge

:02:11. > :02:15.Osborne want him back as an MP ahead of the next election. The mood music

:02:16. > :02:20.from one of the Chancellor's supporters today was fairly clear. I

:02:21. > :02:27.think Boris is absolutely wonderful and I Inc as he has proved, he is

:02:28. > :02:31.pretty good at everything hd has turned his hands to. `` I think

:02:32. > :02:36.Would you like him on board? Of course, there are so many t`lented

:02:37. > :02:40.people in the Tory party and he is a brilliant communicator.

:02:41. > :02:44.This being Mayor a good apprenticeship for being Prhme

:02:45. > :02:49.Minister? My appetite for power has been cluttered by the experhence of

:02:50. > :02:53.being Mayor, it is the most wonderful job and I am getthng on

:02:54. > :02:58.with that. David Cameron could be elected again

:02:59. > :03:03.in 2015 with you as an MP, will that happen? As I have said so m`ny

:03:04. > :03:10.times, my job is to be Mayor of the city, I was very lucky... I was very

:03:11. > :03:16.to get up `` I was very lucky to get elected in 2008, even more lucky in

:03:17. > :03:21.2012. It is the most wonderful job in British politics. The trtth is,

:03:22. > :03:26.he is picking his words cardfully. He says he will carry on behng Mayor

:03:27. > :03:33.until May 20th 16th but he hs being careful not to rule out comhng back

:03:34. > :03:40.to this place in 2015 `` 2006. This afternoon, he was back in Pdrlman

:03:41. > :03:44.Dutch Parliament temporarilx talking to MPs.

:03:45. > :03:49.`` Parliament. I fully expect to see him back in this place in 2015.

:03:50. > :03:55.There will be plenty of seats for him. If he makes the approach, we do

:03:56. > :04:00.not yet know, but it is verx much a matter of when and not if.

:04:01. > :04:04.There are plenty of people who agree. An equal number of hhs

:04:05. > :04:08.opponents who would rather he stays doing this.

:04:09. > :04:12.And there is a precedent for the being both an MP and the Maxor of

:04:13. > :04:17.London. Yes, when Ken Livingstone bdcame

:04:18. > :04:21.Mayor in 2,000, he was a serving Labour MP and did both roles. The

:04:22. > :04:25.difference was he was coming away from the national stage and Boris

:04:26. > :04:30.clearly wants to get back on it He does not want to be seen to have

:04:31. > :04:35.that naked ambition that cotld alienate those who voted hil in and

:04:36. > :04:38.large parts of the Tory party and MPs who would have to vote him on to

:04:39. > :04:44.be Prime Minister if that wdre to follow. The language is

:04:45. > :04:50.interesting. When you ask that direct question, will you stand in

:04:51. > :04:53.2015, there is no direct answer A lot of, don't worry, I will still be

:04:54. > :04:58.Mayor. That is interesting. What do you

:04:59. > :05:02.think he will do? Not a betting man, but if it was

:05:03. > :05:07.with your money, I suspect he would go for a Parliamentary seat of the

:05:08. > :05:11.2015 election. Thank you very much.

:05:12. > :05:14.Coming up later in the programme: We are with the volunteer floodbusters

:05:15. > :05:22.bringing help and hope to homeowners in Surrey.

:05:23. > :05:26.Later this month, Councils `cross London will launch their latest

:05:27. > :05:31.weapon in the fight against people illegally sub`letting counchl homes.

:05:32. > :05:36.It is believed tens of thousands of London tenancies are being `bused.

:05:37. > :05:42.In one instance, a fraudster was discovered subletting more than 20

:05:43. > :05:49.properties. Mark Jordan has been out with the investigators.

:05:50. > :05:53.We forced entry and it was hn poor condition.

:05:54. > :05:58.They discovered the registered tenant of this flat has rettrned to

:05:59. > :06:02.China and was renting it out and collecting rent from 6,000 liles

:06:03. > :06:07.away. Stuart is one hopeful on the council 's 20,000 waiting lhst as

:06:08. > :06:11.they get to grips with fraud. In Southwark, one of the largest

:06:12. > :06:16.housing fraud investigations is closing. A man conned the council

:06:17. > :06:20.out of 23 properties, the epuivalent of a block that size. For hhs

:06:21. > :06:26.friends, family and those whlling to pay.

:06:27. > :06:30.This man audaciously took a job in Southwark 's homeless housing

:06:31. > :06:36.department with not much more than a photocopier and a lot of front, he

:06:37. > :06:41.created fake identities, fictitious children and he comes the council

:06:42. > :06:43.out of 23 properties. These are the fake documents.

:06:44. > :06:50.He got away with it for years until a beefed up fraud team spotted his

:06:51. > :06:57.will drink are simple technhques. `` his will drink and simpld. These

:06:58. > :07:02.children do not exist. They would have a priority need

:07:03. > :07:07.being pregnant. To get higher on the list?

:07:08. > :07:12.Yes, they would have shown somebody 's income, if they have child

:07:13. > :07:14.benefit, to confirm their address will stop and he printed thdm off

:07:15. > :07:18.himself? Absolutely.

:07:19. > :07:23.He pleaded guilty to misconduct in public office and transparent of

:07:24. > :07:27.public are pretty. This has been a lesson and ht has

:07:28. > :07:34.helped us to tackle fraud. Southwark now has scanners to flag

:07:35. > :07:38.up fake documents. It joins seven other London councils who whll share

:07:39. > :07:44.data to stop fraudsters getting a home in each borough.

:07:45. > :07:49.A fraudster `` a fraudster could run half a dozen social homes. The audit

:07:50. > :07:52.commission estimates English councils have lost control of around

:07:53. > :07:58.100,000 properties. This repossession means Stu`rt s

:07:59. > :08:04.family of four now have a home. A lot of genuine people need places.

:08:05. > :08:10.We live in one room, it is cramped, a lot of arguments, there is Mold,

:08:11. > :08:14.this is like paradise in colparison. You can see the full report on

:08:15. > :08:20.housing fraud on Inside Out London tonight at 7:30 here on BBC One

:08:21. > :08:24.Police say two men who were murdered in Leytonstone at the weekend were

:08:25. > :08:27.ambushed in their car by a group of hooded attackers, carrying knives.

:08:28. > :08:29.21`year`old Aaron Carriere `nd 20`year`old Josiah Manful wdre

:08:30. > :08:35.stabbed several times each hn the early hours of Saturday. Police are

:08:36. > :08:41.now examining CCTV footage to investigate what triggered the

:08:42. > :08:49.attack. What happened in the hours, minutes

:08:50. > :08:52.leading up to this attack? Ht is a key part of my investigation, we

:08:53. > :08:57.need to know if there was an incident that caused these lurders.

:08:58. > :09:01.Where did that happen if thdre was one and anyone with information that

:09:02. > :09:05.nature, come forward and spdak to us.

:09:06. > :09:10.Nearly 70 per cent of children have got into their chosen secondary

:09:11. > :09:14.schools for the next academhc year. There has been a small rise in

:09:15. > :09:20.demand for places is the actte pressure on primary schools begins

:09:21. > :09:23.to filter up words. Demand on secondary schools is expectdd to

:09:24. > :09:28.increase over three years, so what schools doing to make space? Marc

:09:29. > :09:33.Ashdown reports. The secondary school population is

:09:34. > :09:37.growing faster than ever. The cute primary shortages will be fdlt here.

:09:38. > :09:43.Ways are being devised to conjure up extra places.

:09:44. > :09:47.This is our fitness room and a changing room because we do not have

:09:48. > :09:52.enough space. Pupils here then have to be taken elsewhere for physical

:09:53. > :09:55.education. The school has outgrown this

:09:56. > :10:01.Victorian building but they do have a solution. A brand`new ?30 million

:10:02. > :10:04.building nearby. The school will move then in three months and this

:10:05. > :10:09.will be the library and learning resource Centre.

:10:10. > :10:15.`` will move in. Eventually, about 1600 pupils will attend the school

:10:16. > :10:19.which only has about 500. It will ease the pressure on places here in

:10:20. > :10:23.Tower Hamlets and local authorities can no longer open new schools, free

:10:24. > :10:28.schools and academies are expected to plug the gap.

:10:29. > :10:32.The clock is ticking on a blooming crisis but schools do not spring up

:10:33. > :10:41.overnight `` looming. This is year three, we have been

:10:42. > :10:44.able to think ahead and plan. We will be in our new building and

:10:45. > :10:49.getting used to be a environment and it will gradually build up rather

:10:50. > :10:52.than suddenly expanding. The government is increasing good

:10:53. > :10:56.school places by tackling underperformance, opening free

:10:57. > :11:01.schools and academies and allowing good schools to expand. A s`fe

:11:02. > :11:07.funding of ?5 billion is behng invested to achieve that. `` they

:11:08. > :11:11.say. The schools examine evdry inch of space in London, it is rtnning

:11:12. > :11:14.out fast and the problem is only going to get worse.

:11:15. > :11:17.And Marc is here now with more details on this year's figures. And

:11:18. > :11:19.how is the picture looking `cross London?

:11:20. > :11:23.This year, just over 80,000 pupils applied for a place at a London

:11:24. > :11:27.secondary school. That is up by nearly five per cent on last year.

:11:28. > :11:29.The pressure then is starting to shift slowly from primaries to

:11:30. > :11:38.secondaries, as children move through the school system. Now, on

:11:39. > :11:41.their application form, pardnts put down up to six preferred schools,

:11:42. > :11:47.not necessarily in the borotgh where they live. This year, 95% wdre

:11:48. > :11:50.offered one of their six preferences. Of course, everyone

:11:51. > :11:53.wants their top pick. This xear the number getting their wish h`s risen

:11:54. > :11:58.slightly. Across the capital, 6 % got that first choice school. That

:11:59. > :12:02.figure does vary depending on where you live. In Bexley, 80% of pupils

:12:03. > :12:05.were allocated their first choice, that is the highest figure hn

:12:06. > :12:11.London. But in Westminster, it was just 58%. The small number who

:12:12. > :12:16.haven't been offered any of their choices will be given an

:12:17. > :12:21.alternative. And, of course, anyone not happy can appeal.

:12:22. > :12:29.Flooded communities along the Thames are continuing the huge cle`r`up of

:12:30. > :12:32.their homes and streets. Well, one area badly affected was Sunbury in

:12:33. > :12:35.Surrey, and over the next fdw weekends, volunteers will bd giving

:12:36. > :12:44.up their time to try and help repair the damage. Let's find out lore from

:12:45. > :12:50.Gareth Furby, who is in Sunbury We have had rain here but the river

:12:51. > :12:55.level is continuing to fall. Various a watermark here showing how high

:12:56. > :13:01.the river got and you can sde how much it has gone down. But the fact

:13:02. > :13:04.this is happening means that the damage is now being exposed and many

:13:05. > :13:13.people here are just glad they have got volunteers prepared to help them

:13:14. > :13:16.sort it out. Cleaning up in Sunbury, the water

:13:17. > :13:22.has gone but left behind is the mess and the mock.

:13:23. > :13:26.That is river silt but it c`n be contaminated with sewage. I will not

:13:27. > :13:31.bite my nails until I have disinfected them.

:13:32. > :13:36.Martin was in luck at the wdekend because help was on the way.

:13:37. > :13:42.I hope you are ready and determined to start cleaning. They are not The

:13:43. > :13:46.Professionals at locals. Determined to sweep away evhdence of

:13:47. > :13:53.this flood. A lot of it is sewage from the river

:13:54. > :13:56.so we are in protective suits and the guys helping are in white suits

:13:57. > :14:03.for contamination. I can smell the December and. And as

:14:04. > :14:10.well is that smell, Roger, 67 and a diabetic, is saying goodbye to many

:14:11. > :14:14.contaminated keepsakes. Photographs and different pdrsonal

:14:15. > :14:21.stuff. You have to smile. Otherwise, you would be crying.

:14:22. > :14:25.We can smile together. Jane is a former headteacher and David works

:14:26. > :14:30.in an embassy. But now they are mocking in and many people `re

:14:31. > :14:36.grateful. It is nice to help out wherd you

:14:37. > :14:42.can. Marvellous, I have nevdr seen anything like it, they are like a

:14:43. > :14:49.team. Then it was on to work on Martin 's house and to say ht made a

:14:50. > :14:55.difference was an understatdment. I love you guys!

:14:56. > :15:00.The people here are sent from heaven. Some of the damage will take

:15:01. > :15:06.more than volunteers to movd and repair, but in Sunbury, teals will

:15:07. > :15:10.be out and working for at ldast the next three wheel can `` the next

:15:11. > :15:15.three weekends. Volunteers tell us they helped out

:15:16. > :15:21.in 12 properties at the weekend but they now think they may be called to

:15:22. > :15:23.around 150 in the next couple of weeks and they say many of these

:15:24. > :15:34.people did not have full insurance. Charlton's new multimillion`ire

:15:35. > :15:38.owners warns he could sell their best players to his other clubs And

:15:39. > :15:45.we will be looking at the London talent that dominated the bhggest

:15:46. > :15:50.night for the film industry. The Oscars.

:15:51. > :15:53.Two former England football managers have dismissed claims by thd former

:15:54. > :15:59.international defender Sol Campbell that he would have been captain of

:16:00. > :16:02.the England team ` if he was white. The former Arsenal and Tottdnham

:16:03. > :16:06.player made the allegations in his new autobiography, as Sara Orchard

:16:07. > :16:11.reports. This was Sol Campbell's onlx goal in

:16:12. > :16:15.an England shirt, better known for his strong and physical presence on

:16:16. > :16:19.the field, he is now making headlines tackling a differdnt

:16:20. > :16:23.footballing issue, now retired with 73 caps to his name he feels he was

:16:24. > :16:27.overlooked for the England captaincy because he was black. I still

:16:28. > :16:31.believe that I was the wrong colour, I think if I was white I thhnk

:16:32. > :16:36.definitely my chances of behng Captain would have been enh`nced.

:16:37. > :16:41.Campbell played for England between 1996 and 2007. He did wear the

:16:42. > :16:47.Captain's armband three timds but believes he could have been skipper

:16:48. > :16:52.for ten years. My performances for England were fantastic. I h`d the

:16:53. > :16:57.stature, the character, the charisma, but obviously I dhdn't

:16:58. > :17:03.have a huge PR machine behind me. However, Campbell's comments

:17:04. > :17:09.published in his oo biography have been disputed `` autobiography. No

:17:10. > :17:14.one from the Football Assochation gave me an impression that H should

:17:15. > :17:23.have ` should not have given the captaincy to him. Beckham bdcame

:17:24. > :17:30.Captain, a PR strategy, that may not be right but that had nothing to do

:17:31. > :17:31.with Sol's colour. Sven`Gor`n Eriksson also dismissed the

:17:32. > :17:45.comments. Staying with football. With the club

:17:46. > :17:48.currently struggling to avohd relegation ` Charlton fans have now

:17:49. > :17:51.been warned that their best players could be sold to Belgian side

:17:52. > :17:54.Standard Liege. That's becatse the new owner, Roland Duchatelet, owns

:17:55. > :17:57.both clubs, along with several others in Europe. Chris Slegg has

:17:58. > :18:00.been to south London and Belgium to find out more about the man in

:18:01. > :18:04.charge at The Valley. From London to Liege. Charlton are part of a

:18:05. > :18:13.European network of clubs, six takes effectively run by the same man

:18:14. > :18:17.Roland Duchatelet. How do you choose your priority? Between five children

:18:18. > :18:22.what is your priority? They are all your priority. That's the rhght

:18:23. > :18:32.attitude. This is the heart of the network. This is home of St`ndard

:18:33. > :18:36.Liege, currently top of the Belgian League. What happens at the Valley

:18:37. > :18:43.could be influenced by what happens here. They have a successful youth

:18:44. > :18:47.academy, Standard Liege. Thd man who runs it. How do you think your job's

:18:48. > :18:52.going to be affected by this relationship with Charlton? When a

:18:53. > :18:58.good player, not good enough for the first team, and he needs sole

:18:59. > :19:13.experience to get some experience he can do it. He can come also to some

:19:14. > :19:20.others. Among those protesthng this day supporter Didier. Why wdre you

:19:21. > :19:23.angry? Roland started selling our best players and brought in players

:19:24. > :19:27.no one really knew. We belidve he had bought the club to make money.

:19:28. > :19:31.There were demonstrations and an explosion, the fans revolted. There

:19:32. > :19:37.were some protests last sumler. Did you learn from that about bding open

:19:38. > :19:42.and honest with fans? Yes, well that's not always easy and, in fact,

:19:43. > :19:49.that was a mistake I made bx being too direct and too open probably.

:19:50. > :19:57.The network is controversial, yet visionary. Charlton fans will hope

:19:58. > :20:02.it leads to a brighter future. You can see more on that story

:20:03. > :20:12.tonight in the first of a ndw series of Late Kick Off.

:20:13. > :20:14.So last night's Oscars was `lso a great evening for British

:20:15. > :20:17.film`making. And with 12 Ye`rs A Slave and Gravity dominating the

:20:18. > :20:19.awards it was also a showcase for the capital's with home`grown

:20:20. > :20:24.talent, as our entertainment correspondent Brenda Emmanus

:20:25. > :20:29.reports. 12 Years A Slave picked up ` total

:20:30. > :20:36.of three awards, Best Picture, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best

:20:37. > :20:42.Supporting Actress. Steve McQueen became the first black director to

:20:43. > :20:47.be awarded the academy's top prize. An Oscar win is incredibly hmportant

:20:48. > :20:51.to anybody, to whatever part of the creative process they're in. For

:20:52. > :20:56.somebody like obviously Steve McQueen it's a confirmation about

:20:57. > :21:02.what an important artist he is, an important artist of Britain and the

:21:03. > :21:06.world. The big winner was Gravity. Shot at Pinewood and Shepperton

:21:07. > :21:10.Studios it dominated with sdven awards. The success of Gravhty has

:21:11. > :21:15.been celebrated here in central London by the company that can take

:21:16. > :21:19.much credit for its success. 80 of the film is animation and those

:21:20. > :21:23.incredible special effects were created here by Framestore whose

:21:24. > :21:28.expertise contributed to an amazing night for London film talent. As

:21:29. > :21:32.well as Best Director for Alfonso Cuaron, who has lived in thd capital

:21:33. > :21:37.for over 12 years, the spacd epic won almost all of the technhcal

:21:38. > :21:47.categories including Best Sound Editing, Best Cinematographx and

:21:48. > :21:52.Best Original Score. Like a ballet, I was foiling the chore `` H was

:21:53. > :21:58.following the choreography of the characters. The team have already

:21:59. > :22:04.contributed to the success of the Harry Potter franchise, Avatar.

:22:05. > :22:08.Their Oscar win builds on their international reputation. It's the

:22:09. > :22:13.best calling card they could ever have. It's confirmation that they've

:22:14. > :22:19.got some of the best and brhghtest, not just technicians but visual

:22:20. > :22:21.artists, people who can help great film`makers like Alfonso Cu`ron

:22:22. > :22:25.realise their film`making vhsion and that's what it's all about here I

:22:26. > :22:30.think that's why this city's become so important. So a big night in

:22:31. > :22:35.Hollywood serves to shine the light on home`grown talent.

:22:36. > :22:38.Well, as we heard there the London company responsible for the visual

:22:39. > :22:43.effects of the film Gravity was Framestore. Charles Howell from the

:22:44. > :22:47.company joins me now. Congratulations to you and `ll

:22:48. > :22:51.involved. Your colleagues, we have seen them celebrating in LA, can I

:22:52. > :22:56.ask how are you celebrating here? A few of us were down the road in Soho

:22:57. > :22:59.in a bar watching the awards with a few glasses of champagne. How did it

:23:00. > :23:04.feel when you heard the news? It's wonderful. It's a wonderful

:23:05. > :23:06.acknowledgement of our work over the last three`and`a`half years and our

:23:07. > :23:09.dedication to the project. H know that you have been involved in the

:23:10. > :23:15.project right from the beginning, that's more than three`and```half

:23:16. > :23:18.years. As the visual effects producer you worked closely with the

:23:19. > :23:23.director Alfonso Cuaron who won the Oscar for Best Director. Wh`t was it

:23:24. > :23:28.like working with him? He is a very exacting director. Very precise You

:23:29. > :23:31.can't get anything past him. It was very challenging. He pushed us all

:23:32. > :23:35.the way when we were tired, when we thought we couldn't give anx more.

:23:36. > :23:39.He pushed us and pushed us, which was great. I think it shows in the

:23:40. > :23:44.images. Clearly worth it in the end. When you were making the film or you

:23:45. > :23:50.saw the finished product did you know then this was going to be a key

:23:51. > :23:53.point for cinema in terms of technical advancements becatse

:23:54. > :23:57.that's how it's seen, isn't it? We had a feeling but we weren't

:23:58. > :24:02.entirely sure how the film would be received but we were hopeful because

:24:03. > :24:07.we were innovating, creating new techniques, so we hoped it would

:24:08. > :24:12.have the impact that it's h`d. Aside from the amazing visual effdcts did

:24:13. > :24:16.you meet Sandra or George Clooney? Briefly on set during the shoot but

:24:17. > :24:21.didn't have much to do with them, we leave the actors to Alfonso Cuaron.

:24:22. > :24:25.Is it true that you had an `stronaut on site to explain what really

:24:26. > :24:30.happens? Yeah, we had an astronaut spend about a week with us to advise

:24:31. > :24:35.us and look at the script and offer up suggestions so mainly thd film is

:24:36. > :24:39.scientifically accurate but we are aware we have taken libertids in

:24:40. > :24:43.certain areas. We will ask xou about those another time! Charles, thank

:24:44. > :24:50.you very much and congratul`tions to all involved.

:24:51. > :24:56.Time for a check on the weather How is this week looking? It's looking

:24:57. > :25:00.like spring. We tipped into spring this weekend and I was just saying

:25:01. > :25:03.it was until about ten minutes ago a little bit of light still ldft in

:25:04. > :25:08.the sky so the days are getting longer. Today we did have showers

:25:09. > :25:11.and rain to start with, frol a low pressure system tracking slowly

:25:12. > :25:14.eastwards across the south of the UK. Circulating around that were the

:25:15. > :25:23.showers we had this afternoon. We have had reports of largd

:25:24. > :25:27.hailstones across some parts of the home Counties, so the skies were

:25:28. > :25:30.grey at times but those showers are fizzling out now. Through the middle

:25:31. > :25:33.part of this week there's going to be high pressure building in. We

:25:34. > :25:37.have seen precious little of that as we have gone through the winter

:25:38. > :25:41.That will settle the weather down nicely. This evening and we have one

:25:42. > :25:45.or two showers still around, they're going to fizzle out into thd first

:25:46. > :25:49.part of the night and it will become dry then. Clear skies. Once the

:25:50. > :25:54.windfalls lighter we will also have temperatures down to one or two

:25:55. > :25:57.degrees across the Home Counties. The odd spot below freezing, so

:25:58. > :26:01.every chance of a touch of frost into the first part of tomorrow But

:26:02. > :26:04.despite that chilly start there will be brightness first thing tomorrow.

:26:05. > :26:09.That will continue into the afternoon. Generally, by thd

:26:10. > :26:18.afternoon more cloud in the sky and may also be isolated shower here or

:26:19. > :26:24.there. Mid week, Wednesday when high pressure kicks in so lovely sunshine

:26:25. > :26:27.and temperatures could hit 03 C More cloud Thursday and Friday on

:26:28. > :26:30.the outlook because we will have weak weather fronts going through.

:26:31. > :26:36.It's safe to say it's not looking like such a bad week. Almost like

:26:37. > :26:42.spring. Thank you. The main headlinds:

:26:43. > :26:46.Russian officials have issudd Ukrainian forces with an ultimatum

:26:47. > :26:49.to surrender in Crimea. The deadline is tomorrow morning. If thex fail to

:26:50. > :27:01.comply there'll face what's described as a full`scale mhlitary

:27:02. > :27:04.assault. In South Africa, the trial of Oscar

:27:05. > :27:07.Pistorius has begun. The athlete's accused of murdering his girlfriend,

:27:08. > :27:09.Reeva Steenkamp. He claims he killed his girlfriend by mistake, believing

:27:10. > :27:12.she was an intruder. The long`running saga of thd Mayor's

:27:13. > :27:16.future is back in the headlhnes with Boris Johnson refusing to rtle out a

:27:17. > :27:17.return to Parliament before the next election.

:27:18. > :27:20.You can see more on the day's stories on our website. I whll be

:27:21. > :27:23.back later during the 10.00 news. From all of the team here, thank you

:27:24. > :27:28.for watching and enjoy your evening. Bye.
