:00:00. > :00:00.BBC One, it is time for the news where you are. Have a very good

:00:00. > :00:18.night. Welcome to BBC London News. A

:00:19. > :00:24.sister's hope to save her brother's life has been blocked by the Home

:00:25. > :00:28.Office. Keisha Rushton planned to travel from Jamaica to give her

:00:29. > :00:34.brother her kidney. She has been told she cannot be trusted to return

:00:35. > :00:38.home and has been refused a visa. A happy moment for Oliver and his

:00:39. > :00:44.grandson, but it is also a tense time in the family home. Oliver is

:00:45. > :00:50.in desperate need of a new kidney. The tests came back showing that the

:00:51. > :00:56.kidneys have failed. What the doctor said to me on the night is that I

:00:57. > :01:00.would need an operation. I would need a transplant. His sister proved

:01:01. > :01:04.to be a perfect match for the transplant and was willing to donate

:01:05. > :01:08.one of her kidneys. It seemed straightforward. But, unlike her

:01:09. > :01:13.brother, she is not a British citizen. She lives in Jamaica and

:01:14. > :01:17.was refused entry into Britain on the grounds she might not return

:01:18. > :01:23.home after the operation. Disapointed is not even the word to

:01:24. > :01:27.use! It is an opportunity for me to go back out there and get back out

:01:28. > :01:32.there into the working world. With seven children, a sick mother and

:01:33. > :01:37.fiance back in Jamaica, Oliver's sister says she has no desire to

:01:38. > :01:43.stay in the UK. It is surprising. I love my brother. I have made up my

:01:44. > :01:48.mind for him to have life. This is a very exceptional case and a man's

:01:49. > :01:53.life may depend on it. We cannot let the current harsh climate on

:01:54. > :01:59.immigration let us make harsh of decisions. The Home Office considers

:02:00. > :02:03.all decisions on merit, including those with compassionate and

:02:04. > :02:07.compelling circumstances. It said her visa was denied because she

:02:08. > :02:12.could not give enough evidence to prove she could return home to

:02:13. > :02:18.Jamaica. Before his illness he was a plumber. He has been inyaubl to work

:02:19. > :02:23.for the last `` inable to work for the last three years. He hopes the

:02:24. > :02:29.authorities could speed up the process by giving his sister a visa.

:02:30. > :02:34.A poster showing Prince Charles gagged has been sensored by the

:02:35. > :02:37.company responsible for advertising on London Underground. This is the

:02:38. > :02:40.original image, which has been used to promote a play about the Royal

:02:41. > :02:45.Family at the Almeida Theatre. This is the pixellated version on the

:02:46. > :02:52.underground. The advertising company did not comment. Transport for

:02:53. > :03:02.London has described the actions as a little over enthusiastic. 600

:03:03. > :03:10.canoeists finished a race down the Thames. It has defeated Marines and

:03:11. > :03:14.Olympic medallists. This morning those on Westminster Bridge would

:03:15. > :03:21.have witnessed one of the toughest events in the world. They are fed on

:03:22. > :03:28.the way. They don't stop forests. They go through the night. No sleep,

:03:29. > :03:32.no rest all. The supporters have been up all night following them

:03:33. > :03:36.from lock to lock. After one of the wettest winters on record made

:03:37. > :03:43.training harder, as one family waiting for their mum explained. It

:03:44. > :03:48.is a bitumenal. It is great. `` it is a bitumenal. It is great. What do

:03:49. > :03:55.you make of this? I am very proud of her. The winners made it in after 17

:03:56. > :04:03.hours. Which bit hurts My hands. I have blisters all over them.

:04:04. > :04:07.Only 80% of those who start, finish this race. It was doubly reassuring

:04:08. > :04:12.when one particular canoe came in. This is a once in a lifetime for me.

:04:13. > :04:16.That's it. I am never doing it again. It is good to have the medal.

:04:17. > :04:21.That's all. We are so proud of you! With more

:04:22. > :04:24.than half of those competing more than once, there is always next

:04:25. > :04:28.year. Let's see what the bank holiday

:04:29. > :04:32.weather will be like. Here's Elizabeth Rizzini.

:04:33. > :04:36.Overnight it will stay mostly dry. Quite a lot of cloud around and a

:04:37. > :04:41.mild night to come. It will stay mild into tomorrow. Temperatures by

:04:42. > :04:45.the afternoon up to 20 Celsius. Lighter winds. We will see good

:04:46. > :04:49.spells of sunshine, despite the cloudy start. Watch out for one or

:04:50. > :04:53.two showers. April showers for much of the rest of the week, spells of

:04:54. > :04:58.sunshine and staying mild. That is it. We are back tomorrow morning.

:04:59. > :05:04.From us all on the late team, a very good evening.
