:00:00. > :00:18.That's all from Welcome to BBC London News. Hundreds

:00:19. > :00:21.of residents in South London have spent their bank holiday Monday

:00:22. > :00:25.without water after pipes btrst last night. Two blocks of flats have been

:00:26. > :00:28.affected, but there has been some dispute over who is responshble for

:00:29. > :00:37.the repairs as the premises are split over two different boroughs.

:00:38. > :00:41.Victoria Graham explains. The problem is simple, a burst water

:00:42. > :00:47.pipe meaning residents in these flats have no water. The supply was

:00:48. > :00:53.cut off at eight o'clock yesterday evening. The solution is a little

:00:54. > :00:59.more complex. For residents living here it has been frustrating. Who do

:01:00. > :01:04.they call to sort the probldm? Some residents pay their council tax to

:01:05. > :01:10.Wandsworth and others to Lalbeth. Who is going to solve it? L`mbeth

:01:11. > :01:14.Council told us it was investigating to find out who was responshble for

:01:15. > :01:19.the burst water main and were trying to get hold of Thames Water.

:01:20. > :01:23.Wandsworth apologised for any inconvenience and said they were

:01:24. > :01:28.working with Thames Water. Thames Water said the problem lies on

:01:29. > :01:32.privately owned pipe and not one owned by Thames Water, but would

:01:33. > :01:37.support the council is as mtch as they could until the problel is

:01:38. > :01:43.fixed. The forecast for a dry bank holiday Monday was not quitd what

:01:44. > :01:47.some residents envisaged. It is bank holiday Monday, I did not h`ve a

:01:48. > :01:52.great deal planned, but it would be nice to get up and have a shower.

:01:53. > :01:58.The concierge told us there was a minor problem in the basement

:01:59. > :02:03.yesterday. A plumber was called but the situation got worse. Whdn we

:02:04. > :02:07.arrived it was quite serious and a large water main had burst hn the

:02:08. > :02:11.power room which was causing flooding throughout the enthre

:02:12. > :02:18.building. The crews from Lalbeth local fire station have worked

:02:19. > :02:22.extremely hard to isolate the supply and we have stopped the floodwater.

:02:23. > :02:28.We have also isolated the electrical supply to ensure the residents are

:02:29. > :02:31.safe. So no water and no electricity. Thames Water told us

:02:32. > :02:35.they are still working to rdsolve the problem with the help of both

:02:36. > :02:38.councils. A group of teenage girls from

:02:39. > :02:42.Islington has been playing hn the 2014 World Cup in Brazil for Team

:02:43. > :02:45.England. They were taking p`rt in a tournament for street children in

:02:46. > :02:48.Rio which aims to bring young people together through their love of

:02:49. > :02:58.football. Emma North has followed their progress.

:02:59. > :03:03.This is the street child World Cup held among their favelas of Rio and

:03:04. > :03:08.it brings together young people whose lives are chaotic, but who

:03:09. > :03:14.just love playing football. Among them a group of teenage girls from

:03:15. > :03:19.Islington representing team England. I am excited about getting to see

:03:20. > :03:24.Brazil. Definitely about seding Brazil and learning about other

:03:25. > :03:28.people's cultures. Back at home they are in care, so they have h`d to

:03:29. > :03:34.squeeze in training where possible and sometimes it shows. When we

:03:35. > :03:40.first arrived they were really, wow, I cannot believe it, bdautiful

:03:41. > :03:44.surroundings. The first thing they see is a cockroach and they run back

:03:45. > :03:50.out and they want to go back on the plane. We have just arrived that

:03:51. > :03:56.night. Our experience in thd last two weeks has been intense. It is a

:03:57. > :04:00.full programme of activities and a conference and football and

:04:01. > :04:05.development. The struggles of street children are universal, but here

:04:06. > :04:11.there is a chance for every child to top. Although we have not won a lot

:04:12. > :04:17.of matches, we have learnt ` lot as a team. It has been amazing playing

:04:18. > :04:22.against another team, there are no hard feelings and at the end we all

:04:23. > :04:26.hug and shake each other's hands. Even though some countries do not

:04:27. > :04:32.speak English we can communhcate through football, dance and English

:04:33. > :04:38.`` music. There was no cup to left, they made it to the quarterfinals,

:04:39. > :04:41.but plenty more to take awax. Now a quick look at tomorrow's

:04:42. > :04:44.weather. It will be another cloudy start with some showery outbreaks of

:04:45. > :04:47.rain. Becoming brighter by the afternoon with some sunshind, but

:04:48. > :04:49.there could be further heavx showers developing later. It will fdel

:04:50. > :04:53.pleasantly warm with a top temperature of 17 degrees. That is

:04:54. > :04:56.it from us tonight. We are back with the latest news, travel and weather

:04:57. > :04:57.every half hour from 6:30am tomorrow morning. For now, have a very good

:04:58. > :05:14.night. After last year's called Easter we

:05:15. > :05:20.managed the warmest day of the year so far in Scotland. The day ended

:05:21. > :05:26.with thunderstorms across parts of Wales and southern England. We are

:05:27. > :05:37.left with his area of rain. A few heavy bursts, a rumble of thunder.

:05:38. > :05:41.Plenty of cloud and hill fog around. Tomorrow will be a cloudy day, a

:05:42. > :05:47.better chance of getting wet, either with showers or outbreaks of rain.

:05:48. > :05:53.After the overnight rain South Wales and southern England may experience

:05:54. > :05:59.standing water. More persistent rain coming into northern England. We may

:06:00. > :06:03.get off to a dry start in Northern Ireland, that will not last.
