:00:00. > :00:08.will also be sunny spells. this is a serious injuries is all. BBC One, we

:00:09. > :00:11.can join the BBC uses a tonhght An investigation is launched after a

:00:12. > :00:18.convicted paedophile was fotnd to have taught for four years `t a

:00:19. > :00:33.Westminster school. This kind of in his foursome is.

:00:34. > :00:39.The paramedics who were called to the home where three childrdn were

:00:40. > :00:45.found Ed returned to pay thdir respects.

:00:46. > :00:49.Plus, missing mail in north London ` services have got worse since TNT

:00:50. > :00:52.took over. I don't know where my bank statements are ending tp . They

:00:53. > :00:57.could be in inns or on someone else's door, they could be dnding up

:00:58. > :01:01.in the wrong hands. And the opportunity to rank a

:01:02. > :01:04.Banksy, but not everyone is thrilled with the largest ever sale of his

:01:05. > :01:20.street art. Good evening and welcome to the

:01:21. > :01:22.programme. An investigation has been launched at an international school

:01:23. > :01:26.in London after the head of governors confirmed that a convicted

:01:27. > :01:32.paedophile had abused children whilst teaching there. Willham

:01:33. > :01:34.Vahey, who was found dead l`st month, taught until last ye`r at the

:01:35. > :01:40.private south of international school in Westminster. Scotland

:01:41. > :01:44.Yard, who are working with the AI in America, have just confirmed that

:01:45. > :01:48.images of between 50 and 60 pupils from the school were found on

:01:49. > :01:55.Vahey's computer. Let's get more from Sonja Jessup, who is ottside

:01:56. > :02:01.the school in Portland Placd. There is deep shock here at the school

:02:02. > :02:05.tonight that a teacher described as popular should have such a dark

:02:06. > :02:11.secret. This is an elite, fde`paying school. Parents here did not want to

:02:12. > :02:14.talk to us on camera today, but there are clearly many unanswered

:02:15. > :02:19.questions about the man thex thought they knew.

:02:20. > :02:24.William Vahey was a trusted teacher, now exposed as a

:02:25. > :02:29.manipulative paedophile. In 196 , he had been jailed in Californha for

:02:30. > :02:33.child abuse. Three years later, he was teaching in private schools

:02:34. > :02:37.across nine different countries In 2009, he came here to Southbank

:02:38. > :02:42.international school, providing an elite education for the children of

:02:43. > :02:47.foreign executives and diplomats. Vahey left the school last xear He

:02:48. > :02:49.went to teach in Nicaragua, where his dark past was finally

:02:50. > :02:54.discovered. His employer fotnd a memory stick containing inddcent

:02:55. > :02:59.images of at least 90 young boys. They appeared to have been drugged,

:03:00. > :03:02.and there were dates and locations that corresponded with field trips

:03:03. > :03:07.he had taken the students on. Confronted, he confessed th`t he had

:03:08. > :03:10.in abusing children all his life. Days later, he killed himself.

:03:11. > :03:20.Today, Southbank International School's head of governors `nd the

:03:21. > :03:24.former chief of staff said his pupils were among the victils. The

:03:25. > :03:33.ER is investigating how far back his abuse went. We are not able to

:03:34. > :03:37.determine if this 90 boys wdre the only victims or if there were

:03:38. > :03:46.additional ones. We are talking roughly 30 to 35 years. There could

:03:47. > :03:50.be other students whose images did not show up on the thumb drhve. We

:03:51. > :03:55.are trying to determine if there are additional victims. This kind of

:03:56. > :03:59.offender moves on before solebody has time to identify him and

:04:00. > :04:03.apprehend him, and moves on to another country, another school

:04:04. > :04:07.where he has access to children or vulnerable young people, and carries

:04:08. > :04:14.on his offending. Sadly, it is not unusual. Sonia, many people will be

:04:15. > :04:19.surprised that he managed to escape detection for so long. Indedd, that

:04:20. > :04:24.is the question many will bd asking. How did he slip through the

:04:25. > :04:26.net? The answer so far from the authorities appear to be th`t they

:04:27. > :04:32.simply don't know. In the l`st half`hour, the school's executive

:04:33. > :04:36.visible has confirmed that hmages of between 50 to 60 pupils frol this

:04:37. > :04:40.school were found on Vahey's computer. The school refused to be

:04:41. > :04:44.interviewed by us on camera today, but we understand that they have

:04:45. > :04:47.written to parents in a letter, saying that any pupils who have

:04:48. > :04:53.experienced anything disturbing should come forward, and also saying

:04:54. > :04:57.that Vahey was subject did to two criminal records bureau checks, and

:04:58. > :05:00.they did not fly got anything of concern . In the latter, thd

:05:01. > :05:06.executive principal also sahd the parents, this disclosure has left us

:05:07. > :05:09.all up old. As a staff, we feel upset, angry and betrayed. We can

:05:10. > :05:20.only imagine what you as parents must feel.

:05:21. > :05:23.More to come, including: Calls to flood proof homes. The residents who

:05:24. > :05:33.want insurance companies to do more to protect their properties.

:05:34. > :05:37.As you may have just heard, police have charged a 42`year`old woman who

:05:38. > :05:41.is suspected of murdering three of her children in south`west London.

:05:42. > :05:46.The bodies of a four`year`old girl and twin boys aged three were found

:05:47. > :05:49.at a house in New Malden on Tuesday. The children are believed to have

:05:50. > :05:57.had a life limiting genetic condition. Our reporter is outside

:05:58. > :06:01.the family home with the latest Yes, Scotland Yard have confirmed in

:06:02. > :06:08.the last few minutes that they have charged Tanya Clarence, who is 2,

:06:09. > :06:14.with the murder of her thred children, Max and Ben, two boys aged

:06:15. > :06:19.three, and their sister Olivia, who was four. They say she will appear

:06:20. > :06:24.at Wimbledon magistrates cotrt tomorrow. The police also s`id a

:06:25. > :06:27.postmortem examinations on the three children are continuing. Yot can see

:06:28. > :06:33.that the police are still hdre, keeping an eye on the house. Detect

:06:34. > :06:36.lives were here earlier `` detectives were here earlier. A

:06:37. > :06:40.couple of them went inside the house and came out 20 minutes latdr with

:06:41. > :06:46.several sacks full of possessions that they had taken as part of their

:06:47. > :06:49.investigation. There have also been more people who live nearby and

:06:50. > :06:54.others bringing floral tribttes to lay here on the forecourt of the

:06:55. > :06:59.house. This morning, we saw three paramedics turn up with a bouquet of

:07:00. > :07:04.flowers. These were three of the paramedics who were here on Tuesday

:07:05. > :07:08.night, when the police and `mbulance was called to this property. They

:07:09. > :07:16.were clearly moved by the experience. I spoke to Gary,

:07:17. > :07:21.Clarence's friend in South @frica. Derek Clarence is now in thd UK and

:07:22. > :07:30.he is said to be in a compldte state of shock `` Gary Clarence.

:07:31. > :07:33.There is growing anger in p`rts of north London following clails that

:07:34. > :07:36.some residents are not recehving their post. Just over a fortnight

:07:37. > :07:40.ago, we reported that one woman retrieved hundreds of letters in

:07:41. > :07:43.bushes in Britain. Now it h`s emerged that there have been many

:07:44. > :07:47.more complaints about the sdrvice provided by TNT, which started

:07:48. > :07:53.delivering mail in the capital in 2012. We will hear from the company

:07:54. > :07:58.in a minute. Gone are the days of waiting for the

:07:59. > :08:02.postman. Deliveries at this cul`de`sac in Mill Hill are now a

:08:03. > :08:08.little less routine . Somethmes they arrived late at night, sometimes not

:08:09. > :08:13.at all. Deliveries at odd thmes . Two deliveries a day, which is

:08:14. > :08:17.unheard, especially around here because they are every other day.

:08:18. > :08:21.And deliveries at nine o'clock at night. They were obviously hn from a

:08:22. > :08:26.neighbour. This TNT started delivering here, two of Alexandra's

:08:27. > :08:30.bank statements have not turned up. It is worrying, because I don't know

:08:31. > :08:34.where they are ending up. They could be ending up in rubbish bins, they

:08:35. > :08:41.could be in somebody else's door, or in the wrong hands. My personal

:08:42. > :08:45.information is being given out. This is not confined to Mill Hill. There

:08:46. > :08:50.are anecdotes coming from north and west London of similar problems

:08:51. > :08:54.There are stories of post for a whole street being delivered through

:08:55. > :08:58.just one door. This is just one of a number of complaints being received

:08:59. > :09:01.by the area's assembly membdr. One lady complained to me that ` letter

:09:02. > :09:06.she had been waiting for from a hospital took ten days to arrive.

:09:07. > :09:09.People are complaining about them riding their bicycles at spded along

:09:10. > :09:14.the pavement, leaving their post bags unlocked when they contain

:09:15. > :09:20.sensitive material. TNT delhvers for a number of private businesses,

:09:21. > :09:24.including banks and the NHS. In three years, it wants to be

:09:25. > :09:29.delivering 40% of the UK's lail but those in the industry have their

:09:30. > :09:36.fears. I don't think they know where they are going. You hear andcdotes

:09:37. > :09:39.of the lease `` postmen who look like they are lost. Those in Mill

:09:40. > :09:43.Hill are now worried about their summer holidays and what will happen

:09:44. > :09:49.when they are not around to carry out their mini deliveries.

:09:50. > :09:56.I am joined now by the head of TNT Post UK, Nick Wells. You have got a

:09:57. > :10:00.major problem, haven't you? Well, I would say that TNT Post gendrally

:10:01. > :10:05.delivers a high quality levdl of service. However, there are isolated

:10:06. > :10:10.incidents that we have seen that let us down and let our customers down

:10:11. > :10:15.and where we do not meet thd high standards we set ourselves. But we

:10:16. > :10:24.will work tirelessly to look into these incidents. What are you going

:10:25. > :10:29.to do? Well, we have 3000 posties. Our loss rate is about one hn

:10:30. > :10:34.30,000. But we are not getthng complacent. We go through a rigorous

:10:35. > :10:38.training programme. We induct all of our postmen in security, and we are

:10:39. > :10:43.compliant with the male intdgrity code of practice. We have bden given

:10:44. > :10:46.information that some of yotr staff in those parts of west London

:10:47. > :10:50.affected are actually very unprepared for their jobs. Some of

:10:51. > :10:54.them have said they have not been trained properly, that they don t

:10:55. > :10:58.know where they are going, that they have inadequate maps and thdy have

:10:59. > :11:02.been asking for directions. It is not the message you are givhng us

:11:03. > :11:08.this evening. I would refutd that. We have seven stages of trahning. We

:11:09. > :11:14.map all of our rounds. We train our postmen. We operate a buddy system.

:11:15. > :11:18.Nobody goes out with actual mail before they have walked the round.

:11:19. > :11:23.But of course, Royal Mail h`ve had a 350 year had started. We ard not

:11:24. > :11:28.saying we are perfect, but we do provide a good level of service Not

:11:29. > :11:31.to those customers. To thosd who have been affected, and we have only

:11:32. > :11:37.spoken to a few there are probably more ` they are not receiving an

:11:38. > :11:41.adequate service. There are isolated instances that are letting ts down.

:11:42. > :11:52.But it is important to menthon that we process and handle 4 billion

:11:53. > :12:01.items. 3.9 billion of those are delivered by Royal Mail. As we have

:12:02. > :12:05.been hearing, counterterrorhsm police are urging British Mtslim

:12:06. > :12:09.woman to come forward if thdy are concerned their relatives mhght be

:12:10. > :12:14.planning to join serious civil war. `` Syria's Civil War. A nathonal

:12:15. > :12:17.campaign is focusing on the mothers and wives and girlfriends of

:12:18. > :12:23.would`be jihadists in the hope they will persuade them not to go. The

:12:24. > :12:29.counter extremism, William, `` think tank, Quilliam, has welcomed the

:12:30. > :12:33.scheme but with reservations. They should be at transparent process

:12:34. > :12:38.with regard to this to avoid suspicions of spying or monhtoring

:12:39. > :12:48.by the security services. It has to be open and transparent and be seen

:12:49. > :12:52.to work. And it must not be a self appointed community gatekeeper. The

:12:53. > :12:58.deputy assistant commissiondr from the Metropolitan Police joins us

:12:59. > :13:02.now. Welcome to the programle. You are asking women to come forward

:13:03. > :13:05.with information and concerns, but what about the men in the f`mily is?

:13:06. > :13:11.Should not fathers and brothers be coming forward as well? What is the

:13:12. > :13:14.thinking behind this? Well, we would like everyone to come forward. We

:13:15. > :13:18.know that families are worrhed about the prospect of loved ones

:13:19. > :13:24.travelling to Syria and getting into danger. Today, we have brought women

:13:25. > :13:27.together because women are of great influence in families. Partly

:13:28. > :13:30.because we can spot signs and symptoms and changes in beh`viour

:13:31. > :13:34.and also because if you bring groups of women together, they realise that

:13:35. > :13:39.many women have the same vidws. And that gives us great confidence. You

:13:40. > :13:43.have a least a leaflet here with advice about travelling to Syria.

:13:44. > :13:50.Plenty of sensible suggestions but there are some naive expect`tions

:13:51. > :13:56.within this. The expectation that mothers would turn in their own

:13:57. > :14:00.children. It is not at all `bout turning in anybody. We are `sking

:14:01. > :14:03.mothers and women in familids to think about the signs and sxmptoms

:14:04. > :14:08.they are seeing and if they are worried by changes in behavhour to

:14:09. > :14:11.come forward and talk to us. It might be to the police or community

:14:12. > :14:15.members or to other organis`tions. But they come and tell us about

:14:16. > :14:19.their fears. We are dealing with people who might be vulnerable to

:14:20. > :14:25.making a bad decision and pttting themselves in danger. We hope they

:14:26. > :14:29.will come forward. And if they do come forward, where do you put the

:14:30. > :14:34.information and are you going to forward it on to other agencies MI5

:14:35. > :14:40.for instance? And will people risked being put on a blacklist?

:14:41. > :14:44.What we do with the information is make sure that the family c`n be met

:14:45. > :14:48.by the most suitable person to talk to them. And referred for stpport if

:14:49. > :14:52.necessary. We do not give that information to the security

:14:53. > :14:56.services. This is about dealing with vulnerable people, vulnerable to

:14:57. > :15:00.putting themselves in danger and making poor decisions. It is not

:15:01. > :15:08.about criminalising people. I am afraid we have run out of you.

:15:09. > :15:12.`` run out of time. Still to come, the Banksys that have disappeared

:15:13. > :15:17.one by one off our streets `re now on show in this hotel. But what are

:15:18. > :15:18.they worth? And we visit thd London ballet company made up entirely of

:15:19. > :15:30.children. It's been a tough four months for

:15:31. > :15:34.homeowners hit by the winter floods, some of whom are still waithng to

:15:35. > :15:37.return to their water`damagdd homes. Whilst for the majority the

:15:38. > :15:40.insurance companies are picking up the cost of the repairs, sole

:15:41. > :15:53.residents want more to be done to protect their homes in the future.

:15:54. > :15:59.From Berkshire, here's Gareth Furby. It is a sure flat and it cost the

:16:00. > :16:03.insurers ?1500 a month. But Jilly and Jim do not want to be hdre any

:16:04. > :16:10.longer. I would prefer to bd at home. This is not home. The problem

:16:11. > :16:17.is, that home, by the Thames, was flooded in February. And evdn now,

:16:18. > :16:22.it is nowhere near fit to lhve in. It is unbelievable. This is not our

:16:23. > :16:28.house any longer. And what lakes the delay had to take is that Jhm is

:16:29. > :16:33.fighting prostate cancer. On top of everything else, it has not been a

:16:34. > :16:36.good year. After all this thme, it is striking that the joists which

:16:37. > :16:41.held up the floorboards still have not dried out. They are soaking wet.

:16:42. > :16:46.What Jim and Julie want is to completely rebuild their hole a few

:16:47. > :16:50.feet higher off the ground so that it never floods again. But they say

:16:51. > :16:56.that the insurance company will not pay for that. So now they do not

:16:57. > :17:06.know what to do. I cannot tdll you what it is like because I'd get so

:17:07. > :17:13.emotional... The insurance will only pay for reinstatement. Anything

:17:14. > :17:23.which is deemed to be betterment, we have to fund. Being ?200,000

:17:24. > :17:26.bursting a hole in our back pocket. The insurers have confirmed that

:17:27. > :17:33.generally the policy will only cover the original specifications. Further

:17:34. > :17:39.down, we found David Kidd, who is pleased that the Environment Agency

:17:40. > :17:44.is fitting flood defences to his home but upset that insurance issues

:17:45. > :18:00.are holding up repairs. My wife is very house`proud and it

:18:01. > :18:09.is terrible. It is upsetting. It is. That upsetting? Yes. The Th`mes

:18:10. > :18:16.might be back to normal but for some people, many months after the

:18:17. > :18:19.floods, life is anything but. The work of street artist B`nksy has

:18:20. > :18:22.long been controversial, not least because of the rows over who it

:18:23. > :18:24.actually belongs to. Well, ` new show called 'Stealing Banksx' is

:18:25. > :18:29.starting today, exhibiting some of the pieces lifted from the walls

:18:30. > :18:32.they were sprayed onto. It's been organised by a private comp`ny which

:18:33. > :18:37.will auction off the works on Sunday. But who does graffiti art

:18:38. > :18:44.work really belong to? And hs right to sell it off to the highest

:18:45. > :18:49.bidder? Wendy Hurrell investigates. They used to be on our stredts. No

:18:50. > :18:56.ball games, hacked out of the wall on Tottenham high road. Old school,

:18:57. > :19:01.a bit of Berlin. And now thdy are in a swanky central London hotdl,

:19:02. > :19:05.brought here by a company which has been moving and restoring the

:19:06. > :19:09.artworks and now organising the exhibition and sale. It is like

:19:10. > :19:14.looking at a collection of hunting trophies, severed from their natural

:19:15. > :19:19.environment, stuffed into friends and soon to be seen only by the

:19:20. > :19:26.privileged few. Interested hnsiders and the world's press showed up

:19:27. > :19:30.expecting some kind of commdnt from the group. When they did not talk,

:19:31. > :19:37.we interviewed each other. Xou are not sure how the work got hdre. The

:19:38. > :19:40.chain of sale, who was the owner of the building that they were painted

:19:41. > :19:46.on? Did he sell them to somdone else? That is the story I hoped to

:19:47. > :19:54.hear but did not. That piecd, I took pictures of it when it was on the

:19:55. > :19:56.wall in 2006. For me, personally, it is an interesting situation.

:19:57. > :20:01.Slightly saddening, but may be inevitable. They are not thd best

:20:02. > :20:08.Banksys. Once they are off the walls, someone's house, the street

:20:09. > :20:11.corner, they lose their valte. Banksy has commented on his website,

:20:12. > :20:24.wryly. It seems others are more prdcious

:20:25. > :20:28.about these potentially precious works. Earlier this year, while this

:20:29. > :20:32.painting was being removed from Hackney, one of the company's

:20:33. > :20:42.directors was being grilled by another street artist. The loney

:20:43. > :20:47.from all of those... A donation 100% is going for charity and where

:20:48. > :20:54.does the rest go? We will t`ke a small management fee. There in mind

:20:55. > :20:58.that this is not even touchhng the surface of the fees that an auction

:20:59. > :21:04.house would take. At auction, he reckons that collectively these

:21:05. > :21:15.pieces will sell for ?2.5 mhllion until Sunday on the Strand. For a

:21:16. > :21:18.?17 50 entry price. Bargain(!) Now, to London's only

:21:19. > :21:22.ballet company which is madd up entirely of children.

:21:23. > :21:25.And it's one of the toughest to get into, with more than 600 auditioning

:21:26. > :21:27.for just 60 places. Tonight, the London Children's ballet is

:21:28. > :21:35.celebrating its 20th year whth a new show. Emma North went along to see

:21:36. > :21:39.final rehearsals. They come from all walks of life to

:21:40. > :21:46.give everyone a chance to t`ke part. But they do have to bd

:21:47. > :21:50.brilliant. For several Sund`ys they have practised, practised and

:21:51. > :21:54.practised. Trained by dancers from the Royal Ballet, the past few

:21:55. > :21:59.months have involved early bedtime, eating well and strict dischpline.

:22:00. > :22:03.I've pushed them very hard. I'd tell them that I'm pushing them because

:22:04. > :22:09.they know they can. And we believe in them. I've always tell them, I'm

:22:10. > :22:15.going to be tough but it is because I know you can be better. It is as

:22:16. > :22:19.tough a regime as any athlete's There are dedicated dancers here and

:22:20. > :22:27.some that go to the local all just once a week. Some has come from an

:22:28. > :22:29.orphanage in Kenya. The youngest is just nine so the choreographers have

:22:30. > :22:36.to adapt their teaching methods to get the best out of them. I used to

:22:37. > :22:44.do a bit of dancing and then when I came here, my teacher startdd

:22:45. > :22:47.treating me better. It is vdry hard and you need to get a lot of rest

:22:48. > :22:54.and eat the right food. It hs very tiring, but if you want to do it,

:22:55. > :22:57.then you have to work hard. All this is preparation for a brand`new

:22:58. > :23:01.ballet that they are taking to Sadlers Wells. It is a show adapted

:23:02. > :23:07.from the film, Nanny McPhee, with Emma Thompson. I met Emma Thompson a

:23:08. > :23:13.few years ago and she said, if I can support you anyway, I will. Added

:23:14. > :23:17.that in the back of my mind. After a number of years, I contacted her and

:23:18. > :23:23.asked her what she thought of the idea of making a ballet. And she

:23:24. > :23:30.said, what a gorgeous idea. The hard work seems to have paid off. The

:23:31. > :23:36.show is a sell`out. Now let's check on the Weather with

:23:37. > :23:44.Jay Wynne. Not bad for the time of year. Yes, quite a buzz and day But

:23:45. > :23:48.the globe tells the story of the next 24 hours, the cos I am afraid

:23:49. > :23:52.there is some rain forecast. As you can see, it was a decent dax in the

:23:53. > :23:59.south`east. Variable cloud `nd some sunshine. Particularly along the

:24:00. > :24:04.south coast. In the next few hours, the cloud might produce rain but

:24:05. > :24:11.most of us will be fine. Yot will notice a lot of local cloud drifting

:24:12. > :24:16.in. There will be mist and possibly fog towards the Thames estu`ry. And

:24:17. > :24:20.some rain on the way as well. But it will not be cold. The lowest average

:24:21. > :24:26.will be separate. Tomorrow, very different. It will be great to

:24:27. > :24:30.start, and wept. That rain will come in from the east, and from the

:24:31. > :24:34.south. There's the potential for heavy bursts as we get on the

:24:35. > :24:39.afternoon. But notice that the rain will move away to the north and come

:24:40. > :24:43.the afternoon, it will dry tp. Some afternoon sunshine and the

:24:44. > :24:46.temperatures getting into the teens. And that could help to spark off

:24:47. > :24:51.some further heavy showers hn the evening. We could well see thunder

:24:52. > :24:56.and lightning as we go throtgh Friday night. Be prepared for that.

:24:57. > :25:00.At the start of the weekend, wet and breezy, but the persistent rain on

:25:01. > :25:05.Saturday morning will clear away and then it should brighten up with

:25:06. > :25:09.sunny spells and showers. A mixed day on Saturday afternoon btt

:25:10. > :25:14.improving. Temperatures getting into the teens. The second part of the

:25:15. > :25:19.weekend, low pressure is in charge, drifting to the south. Still showers

:25:20. > :25:24.around but mostly to the east of London, on Sunday, I suspect. Yes,

:25:25. > :25:32.showers around but before then, we will have to get rid of the rain.

:25:33. > :25:35.Now the main headlines. The police are appealing to Muslim womdn in

:25:40. > :25:42.Hundreds of Britons are thotght to have travelled there alreadx to

:25:43. > :25:45.fight in the civil war, and the numbers are increasing.

:25:46. > :25:49.The FBI has appealed for thd potential British victims of a

:25:50. > :25:52.paedophile to come forward. Up to 90 pupils may have been abused by

:25:53. > :25:59.William Vahey, who worked at an international school in London.

:26:00. > :26:03.South bank International School say that images of between 50 and 6
