:00:00. > :00:00.There is more throughout the evening on bids the BBC News channel. We are
:00:00. > :00:00.back with the late News at Ten PM. Now, time for the news where you
:00:00. > :00:18.are. Goodbye. Good evening from BBC London News.
:00:19. > :00:22.Environmental campaigners say more needs to be done to make sure the
:00:23. > :00:26.proposed High Speed 2 rail link does not become an eyesore for future
:00:27. > :00:30.generations. The Campaign For Rural England is calling for better plans
:00:31. > :00:36.to be made to hide the new route. Emma North has more.
:00:37. > :00:40.It is more than 15 years since the Otten `` the owners of Diamond water
:00:41. > :00:45.ski club transformed this place from a dumping ground, now they say they
:00:46. > :00:48.are counting the days until it becomes a building site because HS2
:00:49. > :00:54.with scheduled to run through it. I cannot imagine what it will be like,
:00:55. > :00:58.sitting here even after the build, with a 30 metre high viaduct right
:00:59. > :01:06.by the clubhouse associated with noise and vibration and that
:01:07. > :01:09.continuing all the way down there. Its supporters say it will bring
:01:10. > :01:14.shorter journey times, fewer wasted hours and close the United Kingdom.
:01:15. > :01:17.These are images from HS2 which indicate how the landscape might
:01:18. > :01:21.look. But its detractors claim it is a waste of money that tears at the
:01:22. > :01:27.countryside. Now campaigners claim they have a map which shows just how
:01:28. > :01:30.much of a nuisance HS2 could be. The Campaign For Rural England says even
:01:31. > :01:35.the measures that could be taken to hide the line are not good enough.
:01:36. > :01:41.They use very standardised concrete bridges that are very angular and
:01:42. > :01:43.jut out into the landscape and we think actually if they tried
:01:44. > :01:50.different designs it might look better and be something people could
:01:51. > :01:54.be if not proud, at least not dislike, in future. Campaigners
:01:55. > :01:58.argue it is not just the people who live right next to HS2 who will be
:01:59. > :02:01.directly affected. There will also be a considerable number of people
:02:02. > :02:05.who would like to come out from the city to enjoy the countryside and
:02:06. > :02:10.this piece, they argue, will be taken from them. HS2 say the final
:02:11. > :02:14.plans are not in place yet and they are trying to integrate the project
:02:15. > :02:18.into the countryside with a minimum of disturbance, while taking into
:02:19. > :02:23.account costs and feasibility. They say any images do not represent the
:02:24. > :02:27.final detailed design. The projected cost of HS2 has run over budget by
:02:28. > :02:32.billions. It will end up being a question of balancing finance with
:02:33. > :02:37.finesse. Nearly a quarter of children aged
:02:38. > :02:40.between four and five in London are overweight or obese and by year
:02:41. > :02:45.fixed that figure jumps to one third. But in south London, children
:02:46. > :02:53.are being targeted from a young age to prevent obesity in later life.
:02:54. > :02:59.Put you down gently, nicely. Oscar is three and he is always in the
:03:00. > :03:03.kitchen. I will do it now. It is important to start eating vegetables
:03:04. > :03:08.so they can get used to it. When you are cooking at home, we cook
:03:09. > :03:14.healthy. Also get a bit of vegetable involved. Here in Lambeth, where
:03:15. > :03:17.Oscar lives, around one quarter of four to five`year`olds are
:03:18. > :03:22.overweight or obese and that is the picture across most of the capital.
:03:23. > :03:26.22 out of 35 London errors have higher obesity rates in 45`year`olds
:03:27. > :03:30.than the national average. Oscar has been learning to eat healthily since
:03:31. > :03:36.he was a baby, at classes run by community workers. A lot of people
:03:37. > :03:42.don't know what to eat and what is healthy. A lot of parents do not
:03:43. > :03:45.realise how high foods are in sugar. These classes are great and people
:03:46. > :03:50.are learning more. I think there needs to be more to get the healthy
:03:51. > :03:56.eating message out there. There are lots of things that make London a
:03:57. > :04:00.difficult city. Fruit and vegetables are expensive. People have less
:04:01. > :04:04.access to grow their own. People are very disconnected from what foodies,
:04:05. > :04:09.so they tend to go into the big supermarkets and buy the stuff that
:04:10. > :04:12.is sugary sweet. Health officials warn the earlier a child becomes
:04:13. > :04:17.overweight, the more likely they are to stay overweight in later life. I
:04:18. > :04:20.never used to cook a lot of vegetables but since going to the
:04:21. > :04:25.class, it helps me to start getting a bit of vegetables involved in my
:04:26. > :04:28.everyday when I am cooking dinner. It does not look like there will be
:04:29. > :04:35.any problems here, with no arguments over greens at this dinner table.
:04:36. > :04:41.Fulham were relegated from the Premier League today, after they
:04:42. > :04:43.lost 4`1 at Stoke. Elsewhere in the Championship, Millwall avoided
:04:44. > :04:47.relegation with a win over Bournemouth, and in League Two,
:04:48. > :04:51.Wycombe Wanderers avoided the drop after beating Torquay. Now the
:04:52. > :04:55.weather. Dry overnight, going into tomorrow morning. Sunday will be
:04:56. > :05:00.mostly clear and mild with a light breeze. In the city, temperatures
:05:01. > :05:02.will reach 70 Celsius. We will be back tomorrow at 6:50pm. Enjoy the
:05:03. > :05:16.rest of your evening. Good evening. It was a cold, even
:05:17. > :05:20.frosty start to the Bank Holiday weekend but for most of us day one
:05:21. > :05:24.of three has been dry. We are going to see changes, the first of those
:05:25. > :05:27.changes spilling across Scotland and Northern Ireland as outbreaks of
:05:28. > :05:31.rain drifting through the night. Getting into parts of northern
:05:32. > :05:32.England as well. With the cloud and rain it
