:00:00. > :00:00.effect, it is moving in the right direction. We will be back after the

:00:00. > :00:11.Eurovision Song Contest. Now it is time for the news where you are.

:00:12. > :00:15.Good evening. Just a day after the Olympic Gold medallist, Laura Trott

:00:16. > :00:19.was taken to hospital following a heavy crash in the Women's Tour of

:00:20. > :00:22.Britain cycle race ` she was back in action today, cycling through her

:00:23. > :00:26.home town of Cheshunt in Hertfordshire. Thousands of people

:00:27. > :00:36.came out to cheer her on, as Tara Welsh reports.

:00:37. > :00:42.This time yesterday, she was not sure she would be able to continue

:00:43. > :00:48.with the race. After an x`ray and a good night's sleep, she was all

:00:49. > :00:54.smiles and autographs, as she opened a leisure centre in her town. This

:00:55. > :00:57.is where I spent my childhood, I did my swimming lessons here, this is

:00:58. > :01:03.where I spent a lot of time learning sport I am good at now. It is a

:01:04. > :01:05.privilege for me to have my name above the door. Then it was back on

:01:06. > :01:17.her bike for another 54 miles. Blink and you might miss her and her

:01:18. > :01:21.cycling sister. The support was there nevertheless. It was good to

:01:22. > :01:26.see she was back on the bike after her incident yesterday. Laura Trott

:01:27. > :01:32.is a local celebrity, we will come and give her support. All through

:01:33. > :01:37.Hertfordshire, they came to watch the biggest ever cycling race in

:01:38. > :01:41.Britain. More than 100 of the world's top female cyclists are

:01:42. > :01:47.taking part in this race, which finishes tomorrow in Suffolk. There

:01:48. > :01:52.are 1000 people here. Amazing. Everybody wants to be a part of it.

:01:53. > :01:58.It is really exciting. It is not just spirits that were up. Takings

:01:59. > :02:02.were as well. Very good for local businesses, gets people out on the

:02:03. > :02:07.streets, they come and have a few beers, they make comeback another

:02:08. > :02:10.day. It is a pretty special day when a double Olympic champion cycled

:02:11. > :02:16.through the village, even if it is only for a minute. Police have

:02:17. > :02:18.described the disappearance of a pensioner from south London two

:02:19. > :02:22.weeks ago as a mystery. 82`year`old John Harding left his home without

:02:23. > :02:24.his wallet or mobile phone. Officers are asking people in the Tolworth

:02:25. > :02:31.area to check around their properties and garages, in the

:02:32. > :02:35.search for Mr Harding. Identical twins from Clapham have been rescued

:02:36. > :02:38.by helicopter from the Polar ice cap following a severe storm ` just ten

:02:39. > :02:41.days after starting a trek for charity. Ross and Hugo Turner were

:02:42. > :02:44.raising money for spinal research ` after Hugo narrowly avoided being

:02:45. > :02:46.paralysed as a teenager. But he wasn't able to continue the

:02:47. > :02:52.challenge due to a recurring back injury. On average, over half a

:02:53. > :02:56.dozen pubs are closing in London every week. But a change in the law

:02:57. > :02:59.` means councils can now award a pub "Community Value Status". It gives

:03:00. > :03:03.local people the chance to buy the pub for themselves ` as residents in

:03:04. > :03:10.Tottenham are trying to do. Cordelia Hemming reports.

:03:11. > :03:16.It has been serving pints since the 1830s. Now, campaigners fear this

:03:17. > :03:23.Tottenham pub could soon become flats. Residents have united in an

:03:24. > :03:25.attempt to raise enough money to buy the place themselves and keep it at

:03:26. > :03:32.the heart of the community. People come here to get married, for their

:03:33. > :03:39.21st birthdays, sadly, when there is a loss in the family, for awake, we

:03:40. > :03:43.need this pub, it is part of our community. After being awarded

:03:44. > :03:47.community values status, vocals `` locals were given the chance to bid

:03:48. > :03:51.for it, and they are using crowd funding to purchase the pub. The

:03:52. > :03:58.idea is to bring it to the heart of the community by having locals own

:03:59. > :04:02.it and Tottenham companies supplying to it. People want to drink stuff

:04:03. > :04:06.that is produced locally, where they know the producers, can say it is

:04:07. > :04:11.produced down the road from them, and we can introduce it as our

:04:12. > :04:15.local. Around nine pubs close every week in London and the south`east,

:04:16. > :04:18.but if this group is successful it will become the second pub in the

:04:19. > :04:24.capital to be owned by the very people who use it. Last year, this

:04:25. > :04:27.pub became the first cooperatively owned park. They say community

:04:28. > :04:31.involvement has transformed the place. Very friendly, the sort of

:04:32. > :04:36.place you could walk in and one hour later you have left meeting new

:04:37. > :04:42.friends. This pub only has until the 22nd of May to raise the money. If

:04:43. > :04:46.they fail, Londoners may be calling last orders on another of the

:04:47. > :04:49.capital's pubs. A look at tomorrow's weather ` and expect some sunshine

:04:50. > :04:52.and occasional showers. The temperature seems to be dropping too

:04:53. > :05:00.` as the month goes on. It will feel cool at 15 celsius. I will be back

:05:01. > :05:10.with the news at 6:50pm. Have a good evening.

:05:11. > :05:17.Good evening. We have seen plenty of showers scattered across the country

:05:18. > :05:21.today. There will be drier and brighter spells in between. Low

:05:22. > :05:26.pressure is sitting across the country, with some tightly packed

:05:27. > :05:30.isobars to the south. That indicates some strong winds. They will

:05:31. > :05:34.continue throughout the night, going up to gale force at times. The main

:05:35. > :05:39.focus of the wettest weather across parts of West Wales is this rain. It

:05:40. > :05:45.will not be a particularly cold start to Sunday. Showers, not

:05:46. > :05:49.everywhere, some of us will see drier weather weather window of

:05:50. > :05:51.sunshine around, but be prepared for those showers if you're stepping out

:05:52. > :05:53.in the
