:00:00. > :00:00.-- fellowship. That is it from me. Stay with us on

:00:00. > :00:20.BBC One, it is time for the news where you are.

:00:21. > :00:24.The evening. Part of London turned red today in honour of Arsenal

:00:25. > :00:31.winning the FA Cup. Thousands packed the streets is towards the Town

:00:32. > :00:37.Hall. # You're having a laugh, you're

:00:38. > :00:41.having a laugh. There was no talk of failure today.

:00:42. > :00:46.Thousands packed onto the streets of Islington to cheer their team and

:00:47. > :00:52.its trophy. For Arsenal fans, this has been a long wait. But former

:00:53. > :00:59.Shell, the timing was spot on. I've always been an Arsenal fan. We're

:01:00. > :01:04.been away for 40 years. I am lucky enough that they were able to win

:01:05. > :01:11.yesterday. Others did not need to travel so far. Points for effort go

:01:12. > :01:14.to Jamie, who did not let broken bones stop him from bringing his

:01:15. > :01:19.son. He is seven years old and we have waited nine years for this. My

:01:20. > :01:25.dad brought me when I was younger, so I thought I would do that. We've

:01:26. > :01:30.come from Chelmsford to see them. After a nerve wracking evening, this

:01:31. > :01:40.was the moment that fans could enjoy. All the players were just

:01:41. > :01:44.like... Excellent. What does this mean for you guys? She is a big

:01:45. > :01:49.Arsenal fan and it is the first of many, hopefully. Today is a special

:01:50. > :01:59.day for us, definitely. It brings the place together doesn't it?

:02:00. > :02:05.This is the first one of the grandkids? Yes. I am in solidly

:02:06. > :02:11.chuffed. You can see that it means a lot more than just a football match.

:02:12. > :02:21.A great day. Whatever their view of the celebrations, for Arsenal fans,

:02:22. > :02:25.this afternoon was close to perfect. Ignore Russell Brand and vote, that

:02:26. > :02:28.is the message to young Londoners one year before the general

:02:29. > :02:32.election. A charity in the capital says that the famous comedian was

:02:33. > :02:36.wrong to discourage voters recently and says that getting politicians to

:02:37. > :02:44.take to Twitter is the way to engage them. The campaign has won support

:02:45. > :02:49.Ron famous backers. College Green, opposite the Palace of Westminster,

:02:50. > :02:54.where everybody hears about what is happening in politics. But this is

:02:55. > :02:57.not the only place to find out what is being discussed in the political

:02:58. > :03:01.world. A new wave of activists are trying to get us to talk about it on

:03:02. > :03:06.social media and they want politicians to do the same. 50% of

:03:07. > :03:10.young Londoners have told us that they would like politicians to talk

:03:11. > :03:17.about their manifestoes and policy promises on Twitter in 140

:03:18. > :03:21.characters. If all the parties deliver their election policies in

:03:22. > :03:26.this way, 42% would be more likely to vote. Sophie and Emma feel

:03:27. > :03:29.disengaged with what goes on inside the House of Commons. If a

:03:30. > :03:33.politician is tweeting, it does not have to be specifically about all

:03:34. > :03:39.addicts. It really makes you like they are more human. I think

:03:40. > :03:43.politicians could get involved in the platforms that young people use.

:03:44. > :03:46.I am in here to tell you that I always vote. Campaigners have called

:03:47. > :03:49.on the well`known celebrities to back them and they have also been

:03:50. > :03:55.asking young people what would make them vote. Out on College Green, we

:03:56. > :03:57.found more willing participants. It is not the first time that

:03:58. > :04:03.politicians have tried to engage with young people. Keith Hill was

:04:04. > :04:08.involved in trying to get young Londoners to vote. Will it work? If

:04:09. > :04:12.you understand the issues that they care about and use social media to

:04:13. > :04:16.highlight those issues, then I think you will see an impact. Those behind

:04:17. > :04:21.the campaign hoped that politicians take them up on their social media

:04:22. > :04:30.challenge. Let's find out whether it is going

:04:31. > :04:34.to be another one day tomorrow. Good evening. Today was the warmest

:04:35. > :04:37.day of the year so far and it is not over yet. Plenty of sunshine around

:04:38. > :04:45.as we go through the afternoon. Back`up into the 20s. But it is a

:04:46. > :04:50.slow slide as we go through this week to something cooler and more

:04:51. > :04:54.unsettled. Showers from Wednesday. Well, that is it. We are back

:04:55. > :04:59.tomorrow but from all of us on the late team, good night.

:05:00. > :05:15.Good evening. After the warmth and sunshine across parts of the British

:05:16. > :05:19.Isles this weekend, the question that springs to mind is how long can

:05:20. > :05:21.it last? Until the early
