:00:39. > :00:44.from the control of her violent former boyfriend. Just days before
:00:45. > :00:47.she was murdered, Linah Keza had even tried to secure a
:00:48. > :00:52.non`molestation order at a County Court, claiming this man, David
:00:53. > :00:59.Gikawa, had threatened to kill her and once even inserted a knife into
:01:00. > :01:05.her mouth. On July the 31st last year at her home here, he stabbed
:01:06. > :01:08.her multiple times in front of their three`year`old daughter. A neighbour
:01:09. > :01:22.heard her screaming and went to help. David Gikawa was seen running
:01:23. > :01:26.off. That was how he wanted to end the relationship, by butchering her.
:01:27. > :01:35.Linah Keza worked as a model and was a mother. She was described by her
:01:36. > :01:40.family is caring and open. She would sacrifice even her own life for
:01:41. > :01:45.someone. She would put other people's interests before hers. I
:01:46. > :01:53.can't believe that I will never see her again. Linah Keza came from
:01:54. > :01:58.Rwanda to seek a better life and study. She called police week before
:01:59. > :02:02.her death to complain about David Gikawa. The next day she gave a
:02:03. > :02:07.statement, and on July the 29th, she called police to report that he had
:02:08. > :02:13.been stalking her and have slashed a friend's car tyres. Two days later,
:02:14. > :02:18.she was dead. The prosecution said the systems in place failed to
:02:19. > :02:22.prevent her death. She told the police she was petrified of her ex,
:02:23. > :02:27.and that he carried a knife that he had sharpened. It is very evident
:02:28. > :02:33.today that those fears were not taken as seriously as they should
:02:34. > :02:36.have been. We find that victims of domestic violence often
:02:37. > :02:44.underestimate the danger they are in, but they never overestimate it.
:02:45. > :02:49.When Linah Keza told David Gikawa that her relationship with him was
:02:50. > :02:52.over, the jury heard, he was out for revenge.
:02:53. > :02:56.Almost half of the paramedics working in the London Ambulance

:04:50. > :04:52.badly needs them. The jobs would be luxury. They will be cleaners,
:04:53. > :04:59.janitors, security staff, which will not provide quality careers for
:05:00. > :05:06.local people, which we were promised when this development came forward.
:05:07. > :05:09.It is at the heart of one of the mayor's economic opportunity areas,
:05:10. > :05:14.and job creation is a priority, but whereas offices would have brought
:05:15. > :05:25.more than 900 new jobs, with the hotel, it will be 500 jobs, a
:05:26. > :05:29.reduction of 45%. There has been no reduction in the housing plan,
:05:30. > :05:32.nearly 500 apart is, only one in ten affordable and none for rent,
:05:33. > :05:38.although ?7 million is the expense of audible hopes to be built
:05:39. > :05:40.elsewhere. One critic says it has been aged if from the mayor to the
