:00:14. > :00:15.Good evening and welcome to BBC London.

:00:16. > :00:20.A post mortem examination on a seven`year`old boy who died

:00:21. > :00:23.during floods in Surrey have revealed he was killed

:00:24. > :00:29.Zane Gbangbola, from Chertsey, died in hospital in February.

:00:30. > :00:33.Surrey Police are now conducting tests on a petrol`driven pump that

:00:34. > :00:36.was seized from inside the home at the time of his death.

:00:37. > :00:54.It's very calm and Serena here this evening but back in February, it was

:00:55. > :00:59.a very different story. The river behind me had a fierce current

:01:00. > :01:02.running through it. Where I'm standing was completely underwater.

:01:03. > :01:07.These floods caused devastation for thousands across the region. They

:01:08. > :01:11.also took a life, a seven`year`old boy. Today we came a step closer to

:01:12. > :01:14.understanding how that tragedy happened.

:01:15. > :01:17.little Zane Gbangbola's death has remained a mystery.

:01:18. > :01:20.On Monday, his father spoke about the family's devastating loss.

:01:21. > :01:30.An initial postmortem examination proved inconclusive.

:01:31. > :01:33.Now a pathologist says Zane's death was caused

:01:34. > :01:40.A petrol`driven pump hired by the family was seized by police.

:01:41. > :01:44.They're now looking at whether the hire company is liable.

:01:45. > :01:47.All this is contrary to what the family thought was the cause.

:01:48. > :01:50.A former landfill site backs onto their house.

:01:51. > :01:53.They believed contaminated water flooded their basement and poisonous

:01:54. > :02:02.and awoke in intensive care to discover his son had died.

:02:03. > :02:05.The family didn't want to do an interview today but said they'll

:02:06. > :02:08.wait for the conclusion of the full investigation.

:02:09. > :02:10.Until then, they'll explore every avenue and say

:02:11. > :02:17.The inquest into Zane's death will now be held by the Surrey coroner to

:02:18. > :02:26.try to establish beyond doubt what happened to him.

:02:27. > :02:31.That inquest is unlikely to be straightforward. The family still

:02:32. > :02:37.believe some kind of contamination may have played a part. A few things

:02:38. > :02:40.are not helping this. Surrey county council originally moral Leicester

:02:41. > :02:44.night the existence of this former landfill site and then the

:02:45. > :02:49.postmortem examination originally came back inconclusive. On Monday we

:02:50. > :02:53.were told these extra tests would take a while and now a few days

:02:54. > :03:01.later we have them. That adding to the scepticism in the area.

:03:02. > :03:05.What are the authorities saying? Well, police are busy examining this

:03:06. > :03:10.petrol driven pump which they believe caused the carbon monoxide

:03:11. > :03:12.leak. Surrey county council refused to comment today, apart from saying

:03:13. > :03:18.their thoughts remain with the family. I think we are bit closer to

:03:19. > :03:22.understanding how Zane died but until we have this inquest and all

:03:23. > :03:23.the evidence is laid out before it, we're unlikely to find anything

:03:24. > :03:31.really conclusive. A friend of one of Fusilier Lee

:03:32. > :03:34.Rigby's murderers, who appeared in an interview with the BBC's

:03:35. > :03:37.Newsnight shortly after his death, has been sentenced to three years

:03:38. > :03:40.in prison for terror offences. 28`year`old Ibrahim Hassan

:03:41. > :03:42.and 31`year`old Shah Hussai, Can you tell the difference

:03:43. > :03:51.between talking to a human This weekend in London, scores

:03:52. > :03:55.of scientists are testing a theory devised by the man known as the

:03:56. > :03:59.father of computing ` Alan Turing. It will show if computers have

:04:00. > :04:01.finally managed to mimic a conversation `

:04:02. > :04:03.and can fool a human. Inside this building

:04:04. > :04:08.an experiment with computers is under way, which could give us

:04:09. > :04:11.a real insight into the future. This experiment works by the judges

:04:12. > :04:14.here having a conversation ` two conversations at a time `

:04:15. > :04:18.and they have to decide, are they talking to a computer or are they

:04:19. > :04:21.talking to the humans down here? It's called the Turing Test, named

:04:22. > :04:26.after the scientist Alan Turing, who imagined that one day a computer

:04:27. > :04:33.might be able to imitate humans. They're separate conversations

:04:34. > :04:35.with two different entities. They want to decide which one

:04:36. > :04:39.of these people is the computer For each conversation,

:04:40. > :04:44.there are five judges and watching, developers who hope their programme

:04:45. > :04:50.will be the first to pass. I'm hoping it will be mine,

:04:51. > :04:53.Cleverbot. I'm rooting for my chatbot

:04:54. > :05:00.which is called Ultra Hal. So let's try this with

:05:01. > :05:04.just one question. Now,

:05:05. > :05:21.I think this one here is the human. I think they're bluffing because

:05:22. > :05:24.the answer doesn't make any sense. It can be hard to tell,

:05:25. > :05:30.as one of the judges, actor Robert Llewellyn, better known as Crichton

:05:31. > :05:35.in the series red dwarf, confirmed. One of the computers did some smiley

:05:36. > :05:39.faces and then did some typos and I Well,

:05:40. > :05:46.I guessed Crichton would love it. All these little human

:05:47. > :05:48.beings are delightful. But are they really human

:05:49. > :05:51.or rather a machines? And if the computer does pass this

:05:52. > :05:54.test, what could that mean The ultimate, really, is the full

:05:55. > :05:59.Turing test, in terms of a robot. They may be rather different to

:06:00. > :06:07.those dreamt up in science`fiction but one day

:06:08. > :06:12.a robot could be your friend. The result of the test at the

:06:13. > :06:28.Royal Society will be announced That's it from me. I'll leave you

:06:29. > :06:30.with the weekend weather from Peter Gibbs.

:06:31. > :06:37.It could be disturbed night for some across the region. We've got rain

:06:38. > :06:41.across the way. It's coming with big, heavy thunderstorms so it could

:06:42. > :06:44.be quite a noisy time. The storms aren't quite here but they are

:06:45. > :06:48.massing on the other side of the channel and through the second half

:06:49. > :06:52.of the night, we are likely to see them pushing up from the south, some

:06:53. > :06:56.heavy downpours and places. Later on in the night, we'll see the big

:06:57. > :07:00.thunderstorms begin to move in. Quite muddy in places with

:07:01. > :07:04.temperatures not falling below 15 or 16 in many places. Temperatures

:07:05. > :07:08.could go up as the night wears on in some places. Tomorrow a cloudy

:07:09. > :07:12.start, our bricks of rain almost anywhere, particularly through the

:07:13. > :07:16.morning. Some places could see as much as an inch of rain within an

:07:17. > :07:20.hour but others missing it altogether. One common thing is that

:07:21. > :07:23.through the afternoon, we should see the rain beginning to move away and

:07:24. > :07:28.temperatures picking up in the late sunshine to the low 20s. Through to

:07:29. > :07:30.Sunday, things should begin to improve to some extent. The showers

:07:31. > :07:31.move away and a fresh appeal to move away and a fresh appeal to

:07:32. > :07:41.things. Good evening. The good news is,

:07:42. > :07:44.there will be some decent dry on a sunny moment to come through the

:07:45. > :07:49.weekend. But over the next 24 hours, the threat of thunderstorms

:07:50. > :07:53.looms large. The ingredients have been coming together today - warm

:07:54. > :07:57.air pushing northwards out of Iberia, cooler air from the Atlantic

:07:58. > :08:01.trying to pushed away. In between the cloud has been building with a

:08:02. > :08:04.lot of energy in the atmosphere sparking off some nasty

:08:05. > :08:07.thunderstorms across parts of northern Spain and south-west

:08:08. > :08:12.France. They will produce most of the rainfall tomorrow. Ahead of it,

:08:13. > :08:16.the cloud is starting to produce thunderstorms itself. We've seen in

:08:17. > :08:19.Cornwall. A few sporadic thunderstorms across central and

:08:20. > :08:23.southern areas and towards Northern Ireland through the night. Foremost,
