:00:00. > :00:00.We're back with the late news at 10.10pm.

:00:00. > :00:14.Now on BBC One, it's time to get the news where you are. Goodbye.

:00:15. > :00:19.Good evening and welcome to BBC London News. I'm Asad Ahmad.

:00:20. > :00:22.So as you have heard a few minutes ago, DNA tests have now confirmed

:00:23. > :00:26.that a body found in the Malaysian jungle this week is that of

:00:27. > :00:29.Gareth Huntley. The 34-year-old from Hackney disappeared on

:00:30. > :00:32.Tioman Island where he'd been working for a charity.

:00:33. > :00:39.Gareth Huntley's friends and family knew the picture looked bleak

:00:40. > :00:43.when a body was found in the dense Malaysian jungle on Wednesday.

:00:44. > :00:46.Today, came confirmation, it was the 34-year-old

:00:47. > :00:50.from East London who had been volunteering at this turtle project.

:00:51. > :00:54.The BBC correspondent in Malaysia said tests had failed to shed

:00:55. > :00:58.any light on whether this was an accident or foul play.

:00:59. > :01:01.What the Malaysian Police have said is that the initial autopsy report

:01:02. > :01:06.has come back unable to determine the cause of death and so further

:01:07. > :01:11.So, still no clear answers for Gareth's mother -

:01:12. > :01:14.on the right - who flew out to Tioman Island.

:01:15. > :01:17.More than 100 people had searched for him there.

:01:18. > :01:21.Their focus - a waterfall trek he told friends he was taking.

:01:22. > :01:25.In the end, the grim discovery was made very near where he was living.

:01:26. > :01:29.As the Foreign Office here also confirmed that the body recovered

:01:30. > :01:32.was Gareth Huntley's, his family thanked everyone for their support

:01:33. > :01:37.over the past week, saying they were deeply touched and deeply grateful.

:01:38. > :01:57.Family members who travelled to Malaysia in the hope of finding

:01:58. > :02:08.until they know more about how he died.

:02:09. > :02:11.Two 16-year-olds have been charged with the murder of a teenager

:02:12. > :02:17.James Hunter, who was 18, died from a single stab wound on Wells Road.

:02:18. > :02:19.Three people have now been charged with the murder,

:02:20. > :02:24.while a man and a boy are also being questioned about the death.

:02:25. > :02:27.The Queen's Baton has continued its journey through London, on the home

:02:28. > :02:31.stretch of its tour of 70 nations and territories - ahead of the

:02:32. > :02:34.Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. The baton has been travelling in style

:02:35. > :02:38.on the Thames, getting a lift on the Royal Barge Gloriana.

:02:39. > :02:45.The task of bringing the Queen's secret message to

:02:46. > :02:49.the capital did not rest with just any old Thames cruiser.

:02:50. > :02:54.The Commonwealth baton arrived on the gilded Royal Barge Gloriana.

:02:55. > :02:57.The last time we saw Gloriana on the Thames she was leading

:02:58. > :03:02.Those carrying the baton ashore today were ordinary

:03:03. > :03:07.men and women from London who make a real difference working with sport.

:03:08. > :03:11.Definitely exciting. I think with the Olympic Games only a couple of

:03:12. > :03:15.years ago, everyone got into the spirit of things and no matter

:03:16. > :03:18.whether you like sport or not, everyone took on what the Olympics

:03:19. > :03:21.embodies. Hopefully, if we can pick up some of that and take it up to

:03:22. > :03:27.Scotland, then Glasgow will be a huge success.

:03:28. > :03:31.Millennium Bridge was transformed into a sports park for the event,

:03:32. > :03:33.schoolchildren got the chance to try their hands

:03:34. > :03:39.All under the watchful eye of some of the UK's best-known athletes.

:03:40. > :03:43.It is fantastic. It's a great event to encourage kids to use sports.

:03:44. > :03:47.A lot of the more niche sports you don't see very often on TV.

:03:48. > :03:50.It is one of the big benefits of the Games that kids get the chance to

:03:51. > :03:56.see and be inspired to take up different sports.

:03:57. > :03:58.I thought it would be different and it would be exciting and fun and I

:03:59. > :04:03.wanted to try it out and see what it was like. It is really fun.

:04:04. > :04:06.Eventually, rain stopped play, but the welcome was far from a washout.

:04:07. > :04:11.The countdown to Glasgow 2014 has begun.

:04:12. > :04:15.This is hugely important. This is it now in London, UK's biggest city.

:04:16. > :04:19.This time next week, it crosses the border at Coldstream into Scotland,

:04:20. > :04:23.40 days around Scotland and then it's the Games!

:04:24. > :04:26.The baton has proved a big hit in the capital and it

:04:27. > :04:29.certainly arrived in style, but its journey continues. It's now heading

:04:30. > :04:35.east, touring the Tower of London and tomorrow big crowds are expected

:04:36. > :04:43.Let's take a look at the weather forecast.

:04:44. > :04:46.After a dry night we start tomorrow with sunny spells and passing cloud.

:04:47. > :04:53.as the temperature rises to 24 Celsius - which is similar to today.

:04:54. > :04:59.You can keep across all the very latest on bbc.co.uk/london.

:05:00. > :05:18.Good evening. Most of us have seen some rain so far today. It started

:05:19. > :05:23.off in the south. As it worked its way north, we lost the thunder and

:05:24. > :05:28.the lightning. Many of us ended the day on a decent note. After a decent

:05:29. > :05:34.day in the north of Scotland, that band of rain marches northwards. Be

:05:35. > :05:39.hiengd it, there is a -- behind it, there is a lot of dry weather to be

:05:40. > :05:45.found. Most of us are dry by the end of the night and relatively mild.

:05:46. > :05:48.Starting Sunday in Scotland, still some showers around in the south and

:05:49. > :05:52.the west. I suspect the north and the east are getting off to a decent

:05:53. > :05:55.start to the day. The North West, there may be a bit more cloud.

:05:56. > :05:59.Northern Ireland doing quite well through the morning. Across Wales,

:06:00. > :06:03.the South West, it might be a bit cloudy, but it is essentially a dry

:06:04. > :06:07.start. The best of the morning sunshine is probably across the

:06:08. > :06:11.Midlands and the South East. 17 or 18 Celsius at 9.00am, those

:06:12. > :06:15.temperatures are only going in one direction. The South will have a

:06:16. > :06:16.decent day with sunny spells and
