:00:00. > :00:00.we are back with the late news at Ten o'clock - now on BBC1, it's

:00:00. > :00:13.time for the news where you are Goodbye.

:00:14. > :00:17.Good evening and welcome, I'm Alice Bhandhukravi.

:00:18. > :00:20.A 'pop-up' sweet shop in Wimbledon, launched by tennis star

:00:21. > :00:24.Maria Sharapova has been condemned by nutritionists.

:00:25. > :00:27.The 'Sugarpova Candy Lounge' is selling treats to tennis fans

:00:28. > :00:33.But in the week when scientists recommend people cut

:00:34. > :00:36.sugar levels by half, one expert has said the shop is

:00:37. > :00:49.If you want chewing gum that looks like tennis balls, or candy shaped

:00:50. > :00:54.as a kiss, this is the place to come. The Sugarpova Kandi Lounge

:00:55. > :00:59.opened two weeks ago, run by the world's wealthiest sportswomen.

:01:00. > :01:02.Nutritionists are outraged. I have always had a sweet tooth and I have

:01:03. > :01:07.always wanted to make a candy business. In this promotional video,

:01:08. > :01:13.she is like a kid in a candy store, but as a role model for children, is

:01:14. > :01:17.Maria Sharapova being irresponsible? I am pretty terrified of this shop.

:01:18. > :01:21.It is a ruinous thing that she has done. There is no way in my book

:01:22. > :01:28.that a lady of that kind of personality should be doing

:01:29. > :01:32.something which is basically a come on for children. Maria Sharapova's

:01:33. > :01:36.Management team say these are premium products in Norway aimed at

:01:37. > :01:44.children. The proof, I'd guess, is in the eating. I would not suggest

:01:45. > :01:48.that children eat that. I think I will not be giving them to my kids.

:01:49. > :01:52.They are frightfully expensive. But kids are eating them. Yes. Is it a

:01:53. > :01:58.bad idea? Yes, because they are full of sugar. They say they are not

:01:59. > :02:02.aimed at kids. They obviously are. They should make ones without sugar.

:02:03. > :02:06.Would you not eat them? No. That's good.

:02:07. > :02:08.And that is what the scientific advisory committee wants. A report

:02:09. > :02:14.this week said that everyone should try to cut sugar intake by half to

:02:15. > :02:17.lower obesity rates. Exercise helps, and Maria Sharapova plays hours of

:02:18. > :02:22.tennis every day. Not everyone can do that. The local council says it

:02:23. > :02:26.cannot dictate what is sold here. The suites are available online and

:02:27. > :02:30.elsewhere. And much like its owner, at Wimbledon, it will be gone.

:02:31. > :02:37.-- afterwards. Royal Mail says one

:02:38. > :02:39.of its competitors is putting Much of TNT's expanding delivery

:02:40. > :02:43.business has been focused on London. But Royal Mail has told

:02:44. > :02:46.the regulator Ofcom that the company is getting

:02:47. > :02:48.an unfair advantage because it only Here's our

:02:49. > :02:57.Political Editor Tim Donovan. TNT now operates in more than 1

:02:58. > :03:02.London districts and in those areas, it delivers around one in seven of

:03:03. > :03:06.all letters and parcels. Sometimes it has been going wrong, as when one

:03:07. > :03:12.resident found 200 letters discarded in a bush. And a bag of TNT Post was

:03:13. > :03:19.found by a North London MP dumped in a river. Herself and some supporters

:03:20. > :03:23.were cleaning up the river and we came across a black sack. We pulled

:03:24. > :03:29.it out and opened it up to reveal lots of council tax bills and

:03:30. > :03:36.notifications from banks. And other official documents which had not

:03:37. > :03:38.been delivered. It is important with counsel and -- council tax

:03:39. > :03:43.notification, the people who need that are on smaller incomes, and are

:03:44. > :03:46.probably not in a position to work out what has happened to their mail.

:03:47. > :03:50.That could put them in difficult financial positions. TNT Post say

:03:51. > :03:54.that most of their mail is delivered without a hitch and they take any

:03:55. > :03:57.incident very seriously. Royal Mail says that TNT post are only

:03:58. > :04:02.delivering the most profitable parts of the country, mostly London, and

:04:03. > :04:08.that gives them an unfair advantage. The universal service offering is

:04:09. > :04:15.prescribed by law. From our perspective, we have got to operate

:04:16. > :04:25.to every address in the UK. If we do not have volumes of mail that allow

:04:26. > :04:30.us to subsidise, we will effectively get to a tipping point where the

:04:31. > :04:34.economic s of the universal service does not make sense. Royal Mail has

:04:35. > :04:43.now complained to Ofcom and a review is promised next year.

:04:44. > :04:49.It will be cloudy this evening, with the risk of showers. A small chance

:04:50. > :04:53.of showers. And eyes of 22 degrees. That is it from us.

:04:54. > :04:55.There's more from us in the ten o'clock news.

:04:56. > :05:15.Good evening. For some of us, there has been some sunshine but we have

:05:16. > :05:16.had showers around. Heavier ones during the morning. Starting to lose
