:00:37. > :00:39.Hoddesdon - who argue that allowing the proposal to go through will only

:00:40. > :00:55.It promises a selection of homes, smallpox, a primary school and a

:00:56. > :01:00.care home. This is the vision of a modern-day village. The plan is to

:01:01. > :01:04.build it here, on 40 hectares of green belt land in Hertfordshire.

:01:05. > :01:09.Fully, who has opted for the raw life, it is an unwelcome

:01:10. > :01:14.development. There will be a large number of houses on the field we are

:01:15. > :01:17.looking at across there. The farmhouse in the background, all the

:01:18. > :01:25.way around the houses, to behind my house. Where we live is the a ten

:01:26. > :01:28.corridor to Cambridge. If this land is developed outside the local

:01:29. > :01:32.plan, it opens the door for the whole corridor to be developed, all

:01:49. > :01:51.Rural councils like this have a challenge on their hands. Much of

:01:52. > :01:56.their land is offered in the green belt. Broxbourne has to provide 4000

:01:57. > :02:01.new homes in the next 15 years. It admits nobody wants to build here

:02:02. > :02:05.but says this development is needed. Businesses in the nearby town of

:02:06. > :02:12.Boston would benefit two, it says. -- Hoddesdon. We have had some shops

:02:13. > :02:18.are a couple of months ago, and cafes, especially the independence,

:02:19. > :02:23.seem to stay open. It would be good if it brings people to the town

:02:24. > :02:27.into the shops and pubs. It could be good. But even with the desire for

:02:28. > :02:31.more punters, many are still uncomfortable with housing them on

:02:32. > :02:32.the green belt. It is now up to the Communities Secretary, Eric Pickles,

:02:33. > :02:35.to decide if they should be allowed. A grandfather who was stabbed to

:02:36. > :02:38.death in Notting Hill this weekend has been named by police

:02:39. > :02:42.as 59-year-old Tony Charlery. He was described by his family

:03:03. > :03:08.particularly since the start of the The Chief Rabbi,

:03:09. > :03:11.Ephraim Mirvis addressed the rally - Europe's largest celebration

:03:12. > :03:20.of Asian music, dance and entertainment is taking place

:03:21. > :03:22.at Gunnersbury Park in Ealing. The London Mela, has attracted tens

:03:23. > :03:25.of thousands of people - and it's become a firm annual fixture

:03:26. > :03:42.in the capital's cultural calendar. In the classical language of

:03:43. > :03:45.Sanskrit, Mela means gathering. This annual gathering of the London Mela

:03:46. > :03:49.is a colourful celebration of South Asian arts and culture. It's now

:03:50. > :03:56.attracts talent from all over the world. You have got people coming in

:03:57. > :04:00.from the Punjab, in India. You have got people flying in from Canada. We

:04:01. > :04:06.have got lots of international artists. We have got everything from

:04:07. > :04:12.Tamil classical music and dance one of the top sitar players in the

:04:13. > :04:16.country, coming down. And for the capital's South Asian community it

:04:17. > :04:21.is a family favourite. But the flavours of this festival was appear

:04:22. > :04:25.to have spread beyond West London. We come every year and we have a lot

:04:26. > :04:28.of fun and good food. The entertainment is amazing. The stage

:04:29. > :04:32.is good and the artist that come along, you see all the different

:04:33. > :04:37.stores, the different types of food. Different types of people. That is

:04:38. > :04:42.what I call multicultural Britain. It has got a good vibe with lots of

:04:43. > :04:46.families, young guys, nice music, everything smells good. It is all

:04:47. > :04:50.bunched together, which is nice. This is what is wonderful about

:04:51. > :04:55.being so multicultural. Let's go on in this direction rather than on

:04:56. > :04:58.anything negative. Last year, over 80,000 people came here. Organisers

:04:59. > :05:01.say this year there could be even more.

:05:02. > :05:06.A look at the weather forecast now, with Sara.

:05:19. > :05:22.times. It could be a bit misty and murky to start first thing tomorrow

:05:23. > :05:26.morning. This evening and overnight, we will start with clear skies. You

:05:27. > :05:30.can see that cloud is thickening from the West courtesy of a cold

:05:31. > :05:34.front which is heading towards us. Temperatures staying in double

:05:35. > :05:36.figures. By breakfast tomorrow, outbreaks of rain for everyone

:05:37. > :05:40.spreading across. They come in through the West tomorrow, towards

:05:41. > :05:46.the east. The odd heavy shower mixed in. Largely clearing by the end of

:05:47. > :05:49.the afternoon, top temperatures of 20 Celsius, 68 Fahrenheit. I

:05:50. > :05:53.promised you something a bit more summary this week. Temperatures on

:05:54. > :05:54.the rise, and we will stay dry with increasing sunshine as we go through

:05:55. > :05:55.the week. That's it. I'll be back at 10:1 pm.

:05:56. > :06:12.Have a very good evening. Good evening. Much of the country

:06:13. > :06:16.has enjoyed some sunshine to finish August. The last couple of hours

:06:17. > :06:19.brought a bit more cloud with some rain for Northern Ireland and

:06:20. > :06:22.western Scotland. That front will continue south through England and

:06:28. > :06:31.with patchy rain. Perhaps not quite reaching the south-east corner for

:06:32. > :06:35.the early hours. Temperatures of 12-13d. We are expecting a slow

:06:36. > :06:38.start tomorrow morning, still quite cloudy, dull with mist and Merck

:06:39. > :06:44.around, especially for England and Wales. Eventually, the cloud will

:06:45. > :06:47.arrive in the south-east. Behind it, skies brightening with some

:06:48. > :06:50.sunshine for much of the day across parts of Scotland and Northern

:06:51. > :06:55.Ireland. The north-west corner will see the breeze picking up the

:06:56. > :06:59.afternoon. A chance of one or two showers but much of Scotland,

:07:00. > :07:03.Northern Ireland, dry and fine with highs of 17-18d. Some sunshine

:07:04. > :07:07.breaking through across northern England with temperatures in

:07:08. > :07:10.Manchester at 19. West Wales again seeing some breaks in the cloud. The

:07:11. > :07:11.overcast skies
