:00:46. > :00:49.Permiles per hour ga Silva, who was

:00:50. > :00:56.A major police operation is under way after a body was

:00:57. > :00:58.discovered this afternoon. Our reporter Nick Beake is there

:00:59. > :01:01.for us tonight. Tonight the revolution that the

:01:02. > :01:05.victim was an 82`year`old woman has caused revulsion. Lunch timd today

:01:06. > :01:08.in Edmonton and the emergency services are confronted with a

:01:09. > :01:13.chaotic and gruesome scene. They have been told that a man whth a

:01:14. > :01:18.knife was attacking animals. But they soon discovered he had stabbed

:01:19. > :01:21.to death an elderly woman. @n 82`year`old, apparently behdaded in

:01:22. > :01:27.broad daylight. Neighbours described what happened after the att`ck.

:01:28. > :01:31.There were all police cars outside the beige`coloured house ovdr there.

:01:32. > :01:35.We saw police shouting and little kids screaming. Next thing H see was

:01:36. > :01:41.little kids being pulled out of a little window and they ran to the

:01:42. > :01:46.car and then the police smashed with one of their rams, smashed the

:01:47. > :01:50.window. A woman came out with the kids and they got into a van. As

:01:51. > :01:54.forensic officers investigated, the borough Commander gave more details.

:01:55. > :01:59.On arrival police officers found a woman collapsed in the back garden

:02:00. > :02:03.of a house. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

:02:04. > :02:09.A 25`year`old man has been `rrested on suspicion of murder and hs now in

:02:10. > :02:13.our custody. During the arrdst, officers did discharge tasers and at

:02:14. > :02:18.least one firearms officer has been injured, affecting that arrdst, with

:02:19. > :02:22.we believe a broken wrist. Police said there was no suggestion the

:02:23. > :02:27.murder was linked to terry. They refuse doer terrorism. They refused

:02:28. > :02:32.to confirm reports a machetd had been used. Tonight, though, the

:02:33. > :02:34.police are saying they are investigating an earlier attempted

:02:35. > :02:39.attack on two other people hn a nearby property. They appardntly

:02:40. > :02:44.were uninjured, unlike the 82`year`old victim. A 25`ye`r`old

:02:45. > :02:48.man who was arrested earlier on today on suspicion of her mtrder. He

:02:49. > :02:53.remains in police custody tonight. He is said to be in hospital being

:02:54. > :02:58.treated for injuries he sustained while he was arrested.

:02:59. > :03:02.A charity which provides security for the Jewish community,

:03:03. > :03:05.says there was a record number of anti`semitic incidents in July.

:03:06. > :03:07.The Community Security Trust says this summer's conflict

:03:08. > :03:10.in Gaza is behind the rise. One of the incidents was

:03:11. > :03:14.in Kingston, when a synagogte had a notice stuck on the door,

:03:15. > :03:16.branding Jews as "child murderers". The local rabbi says Jewish

:03:17. > :03:21.people here have nothing to do with events in the Middle E`st.

:03:22. > :03:25.Tottenham MP, David Lammy, says he wants to become Labour's

:03:26. > :03:29.next candidate for Mayor of London. He believes he can make

:03:30. > :03:32.the capital to be ` in his words ` a "city of opportunity" for all

:03:33. > :03:34.He's the first of several sdnior Labour figures believed to be

:03:35. > :03:46.interested in the position `head of the elections in 2016.

:03:47. > :03:49.In exactly two weeks time, voters in Scotland will decide whether they

:03:50. > :03:52.want to become an independent nation or stay part of the United Kingdom.

:03:53. > :03:56.Well, London's not short of Scots who live and work here and their

:03:57. > :03:58.views on the referendum varx as much as it does north of the border, as

:03:59. > :04:01.Karl Mercer has been finding out. There's a corner

:04:02. > :04:03.of the capital that is forever Across town there seems to be

:04:04. > :04:09.something of an appetite for You don't have to look too far in

:04:10. > :04:14.London to find a Scottish influence. Carol Deeney has now made

:04:15. > :04:17.the capital her home. Her business very much tradhng

:04:18. > :04:19.on her roots. She's leaning towards supporting

:04:20. > :04:21.independence, but knows it lay To be honest, I haven't been given

:04:22. > :04:25.enough information about how it might change

:04:26. > :04:28.the way that I buy from Scotland. I don't know

:04:29. > :04:31.if we'll have an import tax, will It's something that I'm going to

:04:32. > :04:35.have to spend some time Back at the rugby, London Scots are

:04:36. > :04:41.getting a bit of a beating from Some of

:04:42. > :04:45.the opinions too are pretty strong. I primarily think it's to do with

:04:46. > :04:48.Westminster and probably London in general, where a lot

:04:49. > :04:54.of people feel there's a lot of greed, arrogance and it's nothing

:04:55. > :04:59.to do with the rest of Engl`nd. I think a lot of the rest

:05:00. > :05:02.of the England wouldn't mind being I feel Scottish, but I feel very

:05:03. > :05:12.British and I will be definhtely We don't know how it's

:05:13. > :05:19.going to pan out. It's not something you can go

:05:20. > :05:22.back on in five years' time. Typically, everyone's ` oh,

:05:23. > :05:25.can we do it? We've got capable people all over

:05:26. > :05:31.the place Opinions in London,

:05:32. > :05:35.like in Scotland, are split. The referendum closely followed

:05:36. > :05:37.by Scots here, but also being If the Scots vote No, that hs vote

:05:38. > :05:45.to stay in the UK, and then get extra tax raising powers, you could

:05:46. > :05:48.easily imagine lots of London of politicians saying, why can't we

:05:49. > :05:51.have similar tax raising powers If they vote Yes, and go,

:05:52. > :05:55.that would leave Britain as potentially a more right

:05:56. > :05:59.leaning, more Conservative country, or the remainder of Britain,

:06:00. > :06:02.where London has been tilting left. It would create a bigger gap between

:06:03. > :06:08.London politics and UK politics With two weeks left,

:06:09. > :06:10.there's still all to play for with polls suggesting the Yes

:06:11. > :06:13.and No divide is shrinking. Scots living here won't necdssarily

:06:14. > :06:31.have a vote, There's lots more on the referendum

:06:32. > :06:36.on the BBC website. The address is bbc.co.uk/Scotlanddecides.

:06:37. > :06:39.That's it for now. From me. We are officially in autumn. Still

:06:40. > :06:39.feels like summer. That's it for now. From me.

:06:40. > :06:43.We are officially in autumn. Still feels like summer.

:06:44. > :06:47.A good week all in all. We have seen sunshine. Today was rather

:06:48. > :06:51.disappointingly cloudy but tomorrow will feel warm and for the lajority

:06:52. > :06:55.it'll stay dry. That's really the theme into the weekend. A lot of

:06:56. > :06:59.cloud spilling back in overnight. That cloud quite thick in places T

:07:00. > :07:02.could turn misty, maybe one or two fog patches like there were last

:07:03. > :07:07.night shouldn't cause too m`ny problems. It is going to be warm

:07:08. > :07:11.one. Temperatures staying in the mid`teens. Not a cold start to

:07:12. > :07:14.Friday. A rather grey start. More sunshine tomorrow. Starting off

:07:15. > :07:18.maybe to the east of London. The cloud tending to lift and break as

:07:19. > :07:22.we go through the day. Some sunny intervals developing especi`lly by

:07:23. > :07:25.the afternoon. That will lift temperatures, still feeling like

:07:26. > :07:28.summer with highs in the low 20s. The outlook is really for more of

:07:29. > :07:32.the same. Fine conditions through the course of the weekend. We will

:07:33. > :07:34.see some sunny spells developing and temperatures continue to be above

:07:35. > :07:35.average. Now the national outlook.

:07:36. > :07:48.average. Now the national outlook.

:07:49. > :07:50.Good evening. Still a hint of summer in the air, temperatures up to 3 or
