:00:00. > :00:00.That is all of the sport. Thank you. That's it from us, we are back with

:00:00. > :00:00.the late news at 10:15pm tonight. Now on BBC One it's time for the

:00:00. > :00:13.news where you are. Goodbye. Good evening from BBC London News,

:00:14. > :00:21.I'm Louisa Preston. Royal Mail could soon be delivering

:00:22. > :00:24.parcels on Sundays in an attempt to serve the growing

:00:25. > :00:27.demand for online shopping. The company has started piloting

:00:28. > :00:30.Sunday deliveries in and around London from today,

:00:31. > :00:43.as Charlotte Franks reports. Could this be the key to boosting

:00:44. > :00:47.business? For the first time these Royal mail staff are working on a

:00:48. > :00:51.Sunday and the parcels they are sorting and we'll be delivered today

:00:52. > :00:55.too. The postal company is responding to the changing weight we

:00:56. > :01:00.shop driven by a boost in online sales. We have been responding to

:01:01. > :01:04.customer demand in recent years to ensure that we provide as many

:01:05. > :01:09.options as possible for people to be able to choose how and when they can

:01:10. > :01:14.receive their orders. Hello, I have got your parcel. For people like

:01:15. > :01:18.Sarah who work during the week this Sunday service is welcome. It is

:01:19. > :01:21.good to have if you can choose a Sunday delivery rather than having

:01:22. > :01:26.the postman waste their time having to come during the week, that would

:01:27. > :01:31.be a good thing as well. And for others on the postal round today

:01:32. > :01:35.it's the same story. Able have really busy lives and it is

:01:36. > :01:38.difficult to get out to the shops. I think this will probably do a lot

:01:39. > :01:42.more for the economy as well because people will shop more, and if you

:01:43. > :01:45.can rely on having your packages delivered on a Sunday I think it

:01:46. > :01:51.just makes life a lot easier for people. Royal mail may be the

:01:52. > :01:55.biggest postal company, but is it playing catch up? It's parcels

:01:56. > :01:59.business saw revenue declined by 1% in the first quarter this year,

:02:00. > :02:04.despite overall growth in the British e-commerce sector. For some

:02:05. > :02:07.time rivals have been making it easier for customers to drop-off and

:02:08. > :02:12.pick-up parcels from lockers like this one. But Royal mail insists it

:02:13. > :02:17.is actually ahead of the game with this pilot. It will continue into

:02:18. > :02:21.the New Year and if successful could be rolled out permanently across the

:02:22. > :02:23.capital. Charlotte Franks, BBC London News.

:02:24. > :02:26.A doctor who fought plans to downgrade Lewisham Hospital is to

:02:27. > :02:28.stand against the Health Secretary, Jeremy Hunt in next year's

:02:29. > :02:32.Doctor Louise Irvine, will be contesting Mr Hunt's seat

:02:33. > :02:37.The Government says it's protecting the NHS from funding cuts

:02:38. > :02:40.and is committed to improving standards - but Dr Irvine believes

:02:41. > :02:45.Coalition reforms are putting the service at risk.

:02:46. > :02:50.The NHS is being cut, despite what the government says, the funding has

:02:51. > :02:54.not increased to meet the needs of the population. There are many other

:02:55. > :02:57.important issues that people are really concerned about and I think

:02:58. > :03:00.it is important that Jeremy Hunt is challenged at the ballot box.

:03:01. > :03:03.The Foundation set up in the memory of murdered teenager

:03:04. > :03:05.Jimmy Mizen has opened its third cafe in South East London.

:03:06. > :03:08.His parents say they would like to see more across the capital,

:03:09. > :03:18.On the steps of the Old Bailey after his son's killer was convicted.

:03:19. > :03:22.We are becoming a country of anger, of selfishness and of fear.

:03:23. > :03:25.And, you know, it doesn't have to be like this

:03:26. > :03:32.The 10,000 Hands Cafe in Ladywell Fields is how this family

:03:33. > :03:38.Since starting the Jimmy Mizen Foundation its core has been giving

:03:39. > :03:43.young people a chance to volunteer and do something positive.

:03:44. > :03:45.I was involved from anything from hiring to decorating to making

:03:46. > :03:58.Every aspect of it I have been involved in.

:03:59. > :04:01.Visited by Prince Charles, their first cafe opened in 2010 to

:04:02. > :04:04.help fund the foundation but it became clear it had other benefits.

:04:05. > :04:06.Three years ago Billy dropped out of cookery school

:04:07. > :04:10.but he got an apprenticeship with the foundation, and now he is a cafe

:04:11. > :04:17.I have learned how to be a skilled barrista, learned how to

:04:18. > :04:23.be a successful manager, a leader, and also to be a great role model.

:04:24. > :04:26.For Jimmy Mizen's parents, Barry and Margaret, these community

:04:27. > :04:30.cafes offer a positive legacy out of a tragedy, one they want to see

:04:31. > :04:37.I got a phone call the other day asking - can we have a Jimmy Mizen

:04:38. > :04:47.I would like to see these all around but for the right reason.

:04:48. > :04:49.It's not about adults being there, it's not about promoting us.

:04:50. > :04:52.It's about the young people doing the

:04:53. > :04:56.work they do, so if we could have a Jimmy Mizen Foundation cafe in every

:04:57. > :05:04.The model we are developing here is replicable and we would

:05:05. > :05:08.like to think as the foundation we could surely help other people do

:05:09. > :05:11.What would their son think about all of this?

:05:12. > :05:15.I think he would be really proud and I wish he was here to see it.

:05:16. > :05:24.A third man has been charged in connection with the death of an

:05:25. > :05:26.Afghan immigrant found in a shipping container in Essex last month. His

:05:27. > :05:31.body was discovered along with 34 body was discovered along with 4

:05:32. > :05:34.other people at Tilbury Docks. Let's get the weather with Sara Thornton.

:05:35. > :05:39.In the Home Counties out towards the north-west it could be quite a cool

:05:40. > :05:41.night tonight, with temperatures down in single figures.

:05:42. > :05:44.Tomorrow we will start with a lot of sunshine around.

:05:45. > :05:47.Some cloud towards the south and east as we go through the day,

:05:48. > :05:50.it will stay dry with varying amounts of sunshine and 22 degrees

:05:51. > :05:55.Through this week we are looking dry and settled, some cloud around at

:05:56. > :05:58.That's it I'll be back just after 10:30pm,

:05:59. > :06:12.Good evening. Most of us had a lovely end to the weekend but the

:06:13. > :06:16.exception was the north-east of Scotland. It was cold, wet and windy

:06:17. > :06:19.but the low responsible is now moving away and we have high

:06:20. > :06:23.pressure moving its way in from the West. The pressure is rising all the

:06:24. > :06:26.while over the next few days which will settle things down nicely and

:06:27. > :06:31.it will be dry pretty much all week. But the forecasting headache will be

:06:32. > :06:34.the amount of cloud. The next few hours will still be pretty wet and

:06:35. > :06:37.windy in the north-east of Scotland but through the small hours the ring

:06:38. > :06:41.becomes quite liked and patchy. Elsewhere it is a dry night, a few

:06:42. > :06:47.patches of low cloud here and there but for many it is a night of clear

:06:48. > :06:50.spells, and major towns and cities will be a degree either side of

:06:51. > :06:55.double figures but in rural areas temperatures could reach as low as

:06:56. > :06:58.one degree. Northern Scotland will be cloudy and breezy, not much

:06:59. > :07:02.Rangers peak of but they will be some. The central lowlands will see

:07:03. > :07:05.a decent start the day and so will Northern Ireland, and the rest of

:07:06. > :07:08.England and Wales there will be a few patches of cloud but for many

:07:09. > :07:13.will be a bright start of the day with plenty of sunshine. The

:07:14. > :07:14.temperatures in rural areas will pick up pretty quickly in the
