:00:00. > :00:27.People around the world have been taking

:00:28. > :00:31.Here in London thousands joined a march

:00:32. > :00:34.Gareth Furby followed one family from Cricklewood who

:00:35. > :00:49.For this family, this was a special day for two reasons. They were

:00:50. > :00:54.joining the march. We are not eco-wariers, but the way we are

:00:55. > :01:00.living is unsustainable. And it was mum's birthday. Happy birthday. I'm

:01:01. > :01:04.40 and that is grown up and this felt like a grown up thing to do.

:01:05. > :01:11.They joined thousands of people on the London march and joining them

:01:12. > :01:16.for the rally the singer Peter Gabriel, who says he is switching to

:01:17. > :01:24.a greener lifestyle. I'm going to look at my house, and the studio and

:01:25. > :01:30.see what we can do in terms of making that, changing energy sources

:01:31. > :01:33.and look at the way I conduct myself and how how much energy I consume.

:01:34. > :01:39.Perhaps with our festival, with tours. But how do the organisers

:01:40. > :01:43.deal with measurements that show something happened recently to the

:01:44. > :01:49.long-term trend. More than 15 years ago for some reason temperatures

:01:50. > :01:54.stopped rising. The majority of the world scientist say that is a

:01:55. > :02:00.temporary pause and climate change will accelerate. For one family it

:02:01. > :02:06.was a day out to remember and a happy birthday for much. -- for mum.

:02:07. > :02:09.In the wake of the Scottish no vote, devolving more power to Scotland,

:02:10. > :02:12.Wales and Northern Ireland has been pushed up the political agenda.

:02:13. > :02:15.But what about the other UK assembly - the one here in London?

:02:16. > :02:17.Should City Hall enjoy extra powers in the near future?

:02:18. > :02:29.London has twice the population of Scotland and an economy nearly three

:02:30. > :02:32.times the size. So when Scotland was offered more powers, it was

:02:33. > :02:42.inevitable it would want some too and on Friday morning it was hinted

:02:43. > :02:49.that that maybe on the cards. It is important we have civic agreement

:02:50. > :02:54.about how empower other cities. Rightly so say some Conservatives.

:02:55. > :02:58.London will need to stand up as well, as well as England and that

:02:59. > :03:04.includes us making sure that we have sufficient powers to ensure that

:03:05. > :03:08.London has a fair deal. London already has its own Assembly which

:03:09. > :03:12.has powers over transport and policing. So what more does it want?

:03:13. > :03:16.Well, particularly the ability to hold on to more of the taxes it

:03:17. > :03:21.raises and it says these could be used to build more homes and on

:03:22. > :03:26.infrastructure projects. At the moment, 93% of the money London

:03:27. > :03:29.raises in taxes is handed over to the Government. Compare that to

:03:30. > :03:36.another capital city, New York. Which is awe lod to keep -- allowed

:03:37. > :03:41.to keep half. Could the layers of Government mean it diss not ready

:03:42. > :03:47.for devolution. The trouble is the Assembly and the areas are not the

:03:48. > :03:51.same. There are different layers of bureaucracy. This may not be

:03:52. > :03:57.London's biggest obstacle. As the Prime Minister's focus will be gets

:03:58. > :04:01.a good deal for MPs across England. I don't think it would be right to

:04:02. > :04:06.give the powers to London that go to Scotland as a whole. I think they

:04:07. > :04:11.should reside for England as a whole and that is what my post bag is

:04:12. > :04:14.saying, people want justice for England. We are fed up with not

:04:15. > :04:26.being on the map and not having a voice. London may have to wait its

:04:27. > :04:32.turn in this devolution give away. The clear up is continuing after

:04:33. > :04:37.flash floods at the weekend. It is the second time it has happened in

:04:38. > :04:43.13 months. Some blame the rebuilding of promenade in Essex.

:04:44. > :04:46.Thousands of people queued for hours this weekend for the chance to see

:04:47. > :04:48.inside some of the most interesting buildings in the capital.

:04:49. > :04:51.Open House London allows people to explore places that are

:04:52. > :04:54.The Leadenhall building, known as the Cheesegrater,

:04:55. > :04:59.Visitors were rewarded with a ride up 48 floors to see some magnificent

:05:00. > :05:05.Well a nice day in London, let?s find out what next week has

:05:06. > :05:19.It has been a fine day, if feeling fresher than it has done. And

:05:20. > :05:22.tonight it will feel fresher still. Feeling cooler than recently, thanks

:05:23. > :05:28.to the clearing skies. It means a bright start for Monday morning if

:05:29. > :05:32.chilly. 10 Celsius first thing. But the son will get temperatures up

:05:33. > :05:35.into the high teens by the afternoon. Thanks to the sunny

:05:36. > :05:41.spells. High pressure will dominate for the next few days. For Tuesday a

:05:42. > :05:45.bit more cloud moving in. So a slightly milder night Tuesday into

:05:46. > :05:46.Wednesday. But it is dry and temperatures reasonable during the

:05:47. > :05:49.day. Chilly at night. That's it I'll be back just

:05:50. > :06:10.after 10.20. Good evening. After a fine day, a

:06:11. > :06:16.fine night in prospect. And with clearing skies, a chilly night at

:06:17. > :06:20.that. The satellite tells the story, how cloud has built during the

:06:21. > :06:24.course of the day. Particularly on into the afternoon. But we run the

:06:25. > :06:28.sequence and you can see it thinning and breaking and it is those

:06:29. > :06:32.clearing skies that will through the evening, but particularly in the

:06:33. > :06:37.small hours allow our temperatures to fall. With mist and fog forming

:06:38. > :06:42.in one or two areas. But nothing widespread. The temperature is the

:06:43. > :06:43.biggest stories. For towns and cities lows of
