:00:43. > :00:47.We hear from Cliftonville's teenage sensation who is setting the Irish

:00:51. > :00:57.is going to get even windier. A Met Office warning is in force. I will
:00:57. > :01:00.have more shortly. BBC Newsline can reveal that two

:01:34. > :01:38.some as a junket - many callers to the BBC voiced their anger over it
:01:38. > :01:41.today. But the committee's chairman, Basil McCrea, says the offer to the

:02:15. > :02:19.In September, the idea of the trip abroad was first discussed. We have
:02:19. > :02:25.a -- we have to get a budget for the trip overseas. There is a
:02:25. > :02:29.suggestion which I think would be a good thing, to look at some of that
:02:29. > :02:33.committee going to Brussels. There is a budget that has to be put in,
:02:33. > :02:38.but we will be to have a discussion about where we want to go, we will
:02:38. > :02:42.decide that as a committee. Speaking from Paris today, Mr McRae

:02:50. > :02:54.Absolutely not. It is one of a number of potential visits under

:02:59. > :03:05.forward a robust is this case that stands public scrutiny, it will not
:03:05. > :03:09.be happening. But Sinn Fein says the trip Bob Bird could easily be
:03:09. > :03:14.described as a junket. This particular visit to the United
:03:14. > :03:20.States, I believe, his late on programme, it is ill-conceived and
:03:20. > :03:25.there is not any business plan or rationale. But one of Northern

:03:28. > :03:32.think that more of our politicians we can get over to the United

:03:36. > :03:40.ambassadors to the country, but they are also getting educated.
:03:40. > :03:42.location has been agreed by the committee. To go or not to go is a
:03:42. > :03:46.decision that will come under a lot of scrutiny.
:03:46. > :03:50.Our Facebook page has been getting reaction to the trip, and there is

:04:28. > :04:32.The national safeguarding Board was set up some years ago, essentially
:04:32. > :04:36.after all the scandals that have engulfed the Catholic Church, and
:04:36. > :04:41.its aim was quite simple, to make sure that children receive in the

:05:09. > :05:15.Because of the focused on Raphoe,. Two of the diocese is in Northern

:05:21. > :05:24.Essentially, what will happen, the board has been tracking back to
:05:24. > :05:28.1975, and will look at what was done in the past in terms of child
:05:28. > :05:32.protection issues, the stakes that for me, and look at what lessons
:05:32. > :05:35.can be learned. The recently retired Bishop of
:05:35. > :05:44.Derry is expected to be in the Spotlight next week.
:05:44. > :05:50.Very much so. He officially retired just a few days ago, he was the
:05:50. > :05:54.Bishop in Raphoe in the 1980s and early 1990s. That is when Eugene
:05:54. > :06:02.Green was abusing boys. Questions are expected to be asked, how was
:06:02. > :06:07.he managed during that period. An update of our exclusive report

:06:11. > :06:15.be reinvestigated by the police ombudsman's office and less there
:06:15. > :06:21.is new evidence. Nearly 50 cases are involved, but it was said today
:06:21. > :06:24.that more than 20 families had been contacted. One of those was the

:06:49. > :06:54.when the RUC came to her street have played a big part in his life.
:06:54. > :07:04.For 40 years, no memories of his father, just a memorial to visit.
:07:04. > :07:09.My father had said, there will be trouble here to me. Glas came into
:07:09. > :07:16.the House. I put the blame down. That is when the shooting came in,
:07:16. > :07:19.my mother heard the crack. For 38 years, the family tried to gather
:07:19. > :07:29.evidence from local people but never had any official information
:07:29. > :07:33.
:07:33. > :07:41.about the shooting. The said my family was murdered, but once you
:07:41. > :07:45.mentioned that it is the RUC,, it is like, what did he do? Four years
:07:45. > :07:51.ago, the ombudsman was handed almost 50 cases of such killings.
:07:51. > :07:55.The McLaren and family to cope. When a letter said no investigation
:07:55. > :08:00.into their case had started. Then yesterday, a phone call to explain

:08:05. > :08:09.was no investigation, and I am getting too old now that there
:08:09. > :08:14.never will be one. The Police Ombudsman's Office says more than
:08:14. > :08:18.20 families have been contacted, roughly half of the total, to make
:08:18. > :08:24.points to discuss those cases which may never see an investigation.
:08:24. > :08:34.After four years of discussions, some in the client cannot decide if
:08:34. > :08:35.
:08:35. > :08:38.it is worth listening any more. Our entire public transport network
:08:38. > :08:40.will come to a standstill on Wednesday as public sector workers
:08:40. > :08:43.go on strike. Trains and buses, including some school services,
:08:43. > :08:46.will be affected. Translink says it is sorry for any inconvenience to
:08:46. > :08:53.customers, but that it is beyond its control. Many of the drivers
:08:53. > :08:57.are from the union Unite. The stoppage will be complete. We
:08:57. > :09:01.would normally have a bus service from early in the morning until
:09:01. > :09:06.midnight on Wednesday. There will be no bus service, completely that
:09:06. > :09:10.day. There will be no trains service that day. The whole of the
:09:10. > :09:14.transport industry will shut down for that day. This is not something
:09:14. > :09:18.we take lightly. It is something that the whole of the people of
:09:18. > :09:21.Northern Ireland are coming out to support. It is very regrettable
:09:21. > :09:25.when people cannot get to their schools, but it is something that
:09:26. > :09:34.we in Northern Ireland feel very strongly about. This is robbery of
:09:35. > :09:37.our pensions and we are not going to take it lightly.
:09:37. > :09:40.Tyrone GAA officials have handed down like the suspensions to the
:09:40. > :09:43.Carrickmore and Dromore clubs following a brawl during the County
:09:43. > :09:46.League final twelves days ago. people from each club involved in
:09:46. > :09:48.fighting in the stand have been banned for a year. Suspensions were
:09:48. > :09:52.also handed out to three Carrickmore players, while both
:09:52. > :10:00.clubs have been banned from the league play-offs next season.
:10:00. > :10:06.they want to achieve is to move on, take responsibility for individuals
:10:06. > :10:12.on and off the field and if they do cross the line, we have to ensure
:10:12. > :10:18.they are dealt with with severely under the rules of the game.
:10:18. > :10:22.A local technology company is investing 80 million to create 166
:10:22. > :10:28.jobs. Andor Technology makes digital cameras which are used for
:10:28. > :10:31.scientific research. The cameras made here in West
:10:31. > :10:35.Belfast are some of the most sensitive in the world. They are
:10:35. > :10:40.used for scientific research into conditions such as Parkinson's,
:10:40. > :10:43.cancer and Alzheimer's. The company already employs 230 people in
:10:43. > :10:48.Northern Ireland. We expect these jobs to help with the next phase of
:10:48. > :10:52.her development. So we are expanding her sales channels,
:10:52. > :10:56.expanding her product range, and we think the future opportunities for
:10:56. > :11:03.our products. It is important to us to say that we have the technology,
:11:03. > :11:11.we have the people to deal with the issues that and or Andor Technology
:11:11. > :11:18.has and they are working closely with the university. Invest NI have
:11:18. > :11:21.offered financial support. We have been focusing on the Health
:11:21. > :11:25.Service this week and the big changes that a new review could
:11:25. > :11:29.bring. That review will that be delivered to the Minister a week
:11:29. > :11:33.later than expected, he will now receive it on December 7th. It will
:11:33. > :11:40.make interesting pre-Christmas reading for Edwin Poots, who joins
:11:40. > :11:43.us now. All this week, we have been concentrating on different parts of
:11:43. > :11:50.what we expect to be in that review. One issue that has really rattled a
:11:50. > :11:53.lot of people is the review is likely to recommend the GPs'
:11:53. > :11:58.surgeries provide some of the specialist treatment that we now
:11:58. > :12:04.get in hospitals. They believe that the waiting lists in the hospitals
:12:04. > :12:11.will now be transferred to longer waiting times at GP surgeries.
:12:11. > :12:14.is a very negative view. But it is a legitimate one. It is something
:12:15. > :12:19.we want to do something about, and certainly, we believe considerably
:12:19. > :12:23.greater services could be delivered in the primary care sector. Number
:12:23. > :12:29.one, that is closer to people's homes. Secondly, it can be done
:12:29. > :12:32.will keep people from actually going into hospital. I do not know
:12:32. > :12:39.anyone who does not need to be in hospital we deserves to be in
:12:39. > :12:44.hospital. Those are all very positive things. Oblivion volte-
:12:44. > :12:49.face is an investment in the primary care sector. -- what will
:12:49. > :12:53.be involved for us. Instead of an elderly person who has a chest
:12:53. > :12:59.infection sitting in accident and emergency, they can go to their
:12:59. > :13:03.local GP, be diagnosed, a physiotherapist is also at that
:13:03. > :13:06.side, and it is a better outcome all round. You mentioned elderly
:13:06. > :13:10.people. One other thing we have been looking at this week is
:13:10. > :13:15.services and care for elderly people. But Justin residential and
:13:16. > :13:20.nursing homes, but also in their own homes. When can you see more
:13:20. > :13:25.investment in that care at home? Because a lot of families are very
:13:25. > :13:33.much under financial pressure, under terrible stress, doing a job
:13:33. > :13:37.that is unpaid, but they do it but of love and duty. Let us be honest,
:13:37. > :13:41.we in the Health Service could not deliver the level of care that has
:13:41. > :13:45.actually been carried out by families. It is something that is
:13:45. > :13:52.absolutely essential and most families will actually do it at
:13:52. > :13:56.some stage. So we really appreciate the care that people give. A when
:13:56. > :14:05.we put more investment into it, we are currently looking at carrying
:14:05. > :14:08.out in the next couple of days, connected Health were we have
:14:08. > :14:12.services put people homes, where we can have more of -- that are
:14:12. > :14:15.monitoring. We will ensure they receive appropriate care in their
:14:15. > :14:20.own homes. We do not want a situation where people are left
:14:20. > :14:26.isolated in their own homes. They can actually get out and enjoy
:14:26. > :14:30.friendship with others. Minister, sorry to interrupt, but changes
:14:30. > :14:36.going to cost money. It is also going to take time. A lot of what
:14:36. > :14:46.is going to happen is going to prove very unpopular. Also among
:14:46. > :14:48.
:14:48. > :14:52.We will wait and see if it is unpopular. I don't anticipate that
:14:52. > :14:59.everything in the report will be well received Burtenshaw many
:14:59. > :15:04.aspects of it will. We have a Health Service waiting list that is
:15:04. > :15:11.continuing to grow and as a consequence, the whole concept of
:15:11. > :15:16.the National Health the source is undermined. -- the National Health
:15:16. > :15:23.ethos. This isn't about saving money, it is about creating better
:15:23. > :15:28.outputs with the money that we have. We await with interest the review
:15:28. > :15:32.into the Health Service. Still to come on the programme:
:15:32. > :15:35.Over 150 new technology jobs for West Belfast.
:15:35. > :15:44.And two of Ulster's most successful Gaelic football teams get set to do
:15:44. > :15:48.battle in the provincial decider. Gavin's here with the sport in the
:15:48. > :15:54.moment. First, a look ahead now next week's BBC Newsline. We'll
:15:54. > :15:58.have a weather series on preparing for winter. This time last year, we
:15:58. > :16:01.had just entered a record breaking cold spell. Next week, Barra Best
:16:01. > :16:04.reports on how agencies are gearing up for another cold snap and what
:16:04. > :16:08.you can do to get yourself and your home ready. Plus, we have exclusive
:16:08. > :16:11.access to the salt mine in County Antrim where the salt for our roads
:16:11. > :16:13.and pavements comes from. That series starts on Monday at 6.30pm
:16:13. > :16:17.here on BBC Newsline. Sports players and fans will be
:16:17. > :16:21.hoping the weather is kind to them this weekend. There was a bitter
:16:21. > :16:24.wind today. For two of big golfing stars, it's warm and sunny in the
:16:24. > :16:27.Far East where they're looking to win golf's World Cup. Gavin Andrews
:16:27. > :16:29.is here. They starred together in the Ryder
:16:29. > :16:32.Cup last year, but this week Rory McIlroy and Graeme McDowell,
:16:32. > :16:36.playing as Team Ireland at Mission Hills in China are alongside
:16:36. > :16:39.Australia at the top of the leaderboard. A second round of 68
:16:39. > :16:42.in today's foursomes lifted them to 13 under par and into a share of
:16:42. > :16:46.the lead in the competition going into the weekend. The pair are
:16:46. > :16:56.looking to go one better than the last World Cup, two years ago, when
:16:56. > :16:57.
:16:58. > :17:07.they finished second, and seem to be enjoying their time together. We
:17:08. > :17:12.
:17:12. > :17:15.struggled to find a rhythm and... City it in his former it is a
:17:15. > :17:18.really good school. Football now and Cliftonville's
:17:18. > :17:21.teenage striking sensation Rory Donnelly will be looking to add to
:17:21. > :17:31.his impressive tally of 14 goals this season when his side take on
:17:31. > :17:36.Glentoran tomorrow. We caught up with him training this week. At
:17:36. > :17:40.just 19, he is the talk of local football. Some have suggested a
:17:40. > :17:48.move to England is on the cards but he seems to be finding it hard to
:17:48. > :17:58.see what all the fuss is about. is just hot work. I work really
:17:58. > :17:59.
:17:59. > :18:08.hard in training. He has already built a strong partnership with a
:18:08. > :18:14.striker who has seen it all at this level. He brings it all to the game.
:18:14. > :18:24.He's won the last one's heart. He's the first here and the last away.
:18:24. > :18:24.
:18:24. > :18:28.He did so it's all the plaudits he is getting. He has played very well
:18:28. > :18:37.and the few does continue to do so, he is on his way. The youngster has
:18:37. > :18:43.no shortage of confidence. When we are on, I can beat anybody. We keep
:18:43. > :18:46.pushing on, trying to get 20 at the 20. Next in his sights is then
:18:46. > :18:52.touring on Saturday. Rugby now and Ulster are away to
:18:52. > :18:57.Glasgow in the Pro 12 shortly. It's a game you can see live on BBC Two
:18:58. > :19:07.from 7.30pm. Both coach and captain recognise it'll be a tough test
:19:07. > :19:16.tonight. Number had there's got to layers, the Scottish contingent the
:19:16. > :19:20.back in,... It means a big difference. We have seen the last
:19:20. > :19:26.two or three years, been up to throw the ball round, a happy
:19:27. > :19:33.really mobile pack that can work in the tackle and it's really
:19:33. > :19:39.expensive. We are expecting a quick game. It is quite a small field. We
:19:39. > :19:41.know there will be a lot of running and we're all up for that.
:19:41. > :19:44.'$$NEWLINE Sunday sees Crossmaglen Rangers and Burren, Ulster's two
