:00:00. > :00:12.Good afternoon. A man in his 40s has escaped injury after a shot was

:00:13. > :00:16.fired at the front of his house in Londonderry last night. It happened

:00:17. > :00:22.at Lincoln Court just after 11pm. The gunman ran off in the direction

:00:23. > :00:25.of the Brigade roundabout. A 54-year-old man is expected to

:00:26. > :00:28.appear at Ballymena Magistrates Court charged with possession and

:00:29. > :00:31.intent to supply what police estimate was ?150,000 worth of

:00:32. > :00:38.cannabis. It follows a search in Callybackey Road area of the town on

:00:39. > :00:41.Thursday. Today, the City of Belfast is

:00:42. > :00:44.honouring the racing driver Paddy Hopkirk. Paddy who won the Monte

:00:45. > :00:53.Carlo rally 50 years ago will be made an Ambassador for Belfast.

:00:54. > :00:59.Helen Jones reports. From the glamour of Monte Carlo to

:01:00. > :01:04.Stormont. A cavalcade of minis, and fronting it, Belfast famous son, the

:01:05. > :01:07.rally champion, Paddy Hopkirk. This is the 50th anniversary of his

:01:08. > :01:11.victory at Monte Carlo on today, he gets behind the wheel of a replica

:01:12. > :01:17.of the car which brought in that clip to be. Becoming an ambassador

:01:18. > :01:20.for Belfast is remarkable. Who would've thought 50 years ago that

:01:21. > :01:28.would have happened? I am genuinely flattered. Thank you. I thought you

:01:29. > :01:41.were going to do the Italian job down the steps.

:01:42. > :01:49.My dog and I idea because my husband belonged to East Coast minis. They

:01:50. > :01:55.are up there at the top of Stormont. It is very noisy. The dog does not

:01:56. > :02:02.like it. He likes the microphone. Yes, he would have a chew of that,

:02:03. > :02:07.given half a chance. Off to the City Hall, where Paddy Hop curve will be

:02:08. > :02:17.made in numbers had -- an ambassador for Belfast.

:02:18. > :02:23.The Post Office has agreed a deal to provide basic adding services for

:02:24. > :02:26.customers of high-street banks. Account holders will be able to pay

:02:27. > :02:30.in checks and withdraw cash in person for many of the Post Office

:02:31. > :02:34.branches in the UK. Ireland will win the Triple Crown if they can beat

:02:35. > :02:37.England this afternoon in the Six Nations. The team have made a flying

:02:38. > :02:42.start in the competition, having beaten Scotland and Wales. Thomas

:02:43. > :02:47.Niblock reports from Twickenham. The full sunshine were welcome Irish

:02:48. > :02:54.supporters to Twickenham this afternoon. Relatively quiet life --

:02:55. > :02:57.right now. But that will change over the next couple of hours. Ireland

:02:58. > :03:11.hoping to maintain their perfect start to this Championship. Ireland

:03:12. > :03:15.are concentrating on England today. There is no stepping stone about it.

:03:16. > :03:20.There is a trophy on the line, it is very difficult to win triple crowns

:03:21. > :03:24.these days. The teams are so good. Those games away from home are very

:03:25. > :03:29.difficult to win. It has been a while since this team has won some

:03:30. > :03:33.silverware. We have not audibly fulfilled our potential over the

:03:34. > :03:38.last few years. We have put a couple of good games together. If we were

:03:39. > :03:42.to win, it would be a good step in the right direction for this team.

:03:43. > :03:50.Those are the thoughts of Rob Kearney. Only one team can win the

:03:51. > :03:57.Grand Slam and that is Ireland. But concentration today is very much on

:03:58. > :04:00.England. He got is up 4pm. -- kick-off is at 4pm.

:04:01. > :04:04.The West Indies have beaten Ireland by 11 runs in a low-scoring Twenty20

:04:05. > :04:07.international in Jamaica to DRAW the two-match series. Alex Cusack was

:04:08. > :04:10.the pick of Ireland's bowlers, taking four wickets for just 11 runs

:04:11. > :04:14.- restricting the West Indies to 96 for nine. But Ireland also struggled

:04:15. > :04:17.with the bat. The top scorer was Gary Wilson who was caught and

:04:18. > :04:21.bowled for 35. But Ireland could only reach 85 runs.

:04:22. > :04:24.Football and last night's big clash between Linfield and Glentoran ended

:04:25. > :04:28.in a 1-0 victory for the Blues at the Oval. Sean Ward was brought down

:04:29. > :04:32.in the box by Jordan Stewart early in the second half. Matthew Tipton

:04:33. > :04:39.stepped up to score the resulting penalty. The win sees Linfield

:04:40. > :04:42.return to the top of the Irish Premiership. And Crusaders and

:04:43. > :04:44.Glenavon finished 2-2 and Ballinamallard were 1-0 winners over

:04:45. > :05:00.Ards. I'm afraid that the best part of the

:05:01. > :05:03.day has gone. The weather system in the Atlantic, look at all that

:05:04. > :05:08.cloud. It has been racing in from the West. We now have some rain

:05:09. > :05:11.across western counties. Increasingly wet this afternoon.

:05:12. > :05:17.Lots of cloud around. Not as cold as yesterday. The rain will get heavier

:05:18. > :05:21.as we head to the evening. This weather system is not going anywhere

:05:22. > :05:28.fast. A lot of rain going into Scotland. And also heavy rain down

:05:29. > :05:33.the western side of Ireland. But temperatures, a pleasant 12 degrees

:05:34. > :05:37.towards London. It is cloudy, wet and increasingly windy by the end of

:05:38. > :05:46.today. Heavy rain warnings in force for some areas. This is what we

:05:47. > :05:52.expect from the rain. 40 millimetres could fall tonight, leading to some

:05:53. > :05:58.flooding. And also some very gusty winds up times. Especially towards

:05:59. > :06:03.the East Coast. The worst of the wind and rain will move to the East

:06:04. > :06:09.by morning. And improving picture by the afternoon. Quite mild for the

:06:10. > :06:16.time of year. Temperatures in double figures. Tomorrow will be colder.

:06:17. > :06:23.And then on Monday, not a bad day at all. Some sunshine, mostly dry. But

:06:24. > :06:25.the unsettled weather pattern continues. More wet and windy

:06:26. > :06:28.weather coming in for the middle of next week. That's it for now. Our

:06:29. > :06:31.next television news is at 6:10pm.
