:00:00. > :00:00.life changing experience. The question is whether the Games will

:00:00. > :00:20.Extra staff have been brought into the Royal Victoria Hospital in

:00:21. > :00:24.Belfast to deal with the large number of patients. The trust has

:00:25. > :00:30.also made more beds available to cope with the pressure.

:00:31. > :00:34.At one point today, there were over 100 people waiting in the emergency

:00:35. > :00:40.department and another 30 on trolleys. The trust triggered what

:00:41. > :00:45.they call escalation plans and brought in extra staff. This is the

:00:46. > :00:52.largest apartment in Belfast, the lead -- is the believed the backlog

:00:53. > :00:56.developed because of pressures at the weekend. A union representing

:00:57. > :01:02.health care workers says the situation is stressful for staff. It

:01:03. > :01:07.is exhausting, morally and physically. They are doing their

:01:08. > :01:16.best for patients. Patient safety is the top priority. The Royal's

:01:17. > :01:19.emergency department became the centre of attention last month when

:01:20. > :01:26.the trust declared a major incident because of a backlog of patients.

:01:27. > :01:29.Today, the situation has eased but as of yet o'clock, there were 80

:01:30. > :01:36.patients waiting with 15 on trolleys. One had been there since

:01:37. > :01:41.two this morning. The trust says they are monitoring the situation

:01:42. > :01:44.closely. Two men have been charged in

:01:45. > :01:48.connection with an assault in north Belfast yesterday. A 24-year-old man

:01:49. > :01:52.is in a critical condition in hospital following an attack on a

:01:53. > :01:55.group of four men in the Antrim Road area. The police have tonight

:01:56. > :02:00.charged a 23-year-old man with attempted murder, assault, and

:02:01. > :02:03.several drugs charges. A 31-year-old man has been charged with causing

:02:04. > :02:09.actual bodily harm and also faces drugs charges. Both will appear in

:02:10. > :02:12.court tomorrow. County Down fishermen say their

:02:13. > :02:15.families are having to rely on food parcels because months of bad

:02:16. > :02:32.weather has forced the fleet to stay in port. Now fishermen say they are

:02:33. > :02:39.at breaking point. This skipper has just arrived back

:02:40. > :02:45.from C. He took his boat out and it cost over ?200 for fuel. His entire

:02:46. > :02:50.hall is in one bag. This is our catch for today. The weather has

:02:51. > :02:58.been atrocious in the last four months. It is making it impossible

:02:59. > :03:01.for us to make any money. In bad weather, prawns burrow into the sea

:03:02. > :03:05.bed for shelter. Today was relatively calm but few had

:03:06. > :03:11.surfaced, but to the despair of local fishermen. This skipper has

:03:12. > :03:18.only been to see twice this year. Now he and others are having to rely

:03:19. > :03:23.on charity hand-outs. The indignity of having to go on television and

:03:24. > :03:27.say that people arguing for food vouchers. Fishermen are proud

:03:28. > :03:33.people, they don't want to have to do this. David is a fish processor,

:03:34. > :03:43.he buys the prawns from the fishermen for expert. This is all he

:03:44. > :03:49.got today. Today, is devastating and you can see for yourself how empty

:03:50. > :03:53.it is. One of the poignant images for me in this industry is to see

:03:54. > :03:57.these ones strong dignified men standing in a queue waiting for a

:03:58. > :04:04.hand-out from the fishermen 's mission. Like foreigners, they feel

:04:05. > :04:10.they are entitled to subsidies, especially in bad weather. -- like

:04:11. > :04:13.foreigners. The Sinn Fein Policing Board member

:04:14. > :04:17.Gerry Kelly is taking legal action against the Chief Constable about an

:04:18. > :04:21.incident in which he was carried on the front of a police Land Rover in

:04:22. > :04:23.Belfast. Both Mr Kelly and the officer driving accept informed

:04:24. > :04:29.warnings for their actions at Carrick Hill in June last year.

:04:30. > :04:33.The father of a student who ended up in hospital after a night out says

:04:34. > :04:37.drink promotions must end. John Kelly's 19-year-old son drank a

:04:38. > :04:42.bottle and a half of wine and six shots of tequila at a club in the

:04:43. > :04:47.Odyssey in Belfast last 30. The teenager's cousin Joby Murphy died

:04:48. > :04:58.after a similar night out in 2012. BBC Newsline's Tara Mills has been

:04:59. > :05:05.talking to the father and son. Two dads who want an end to drinks

:05:06. > :05:08.promotions. Joby Murphy died after he fell into the river after a night

:05:09. > :05:12.out two years ago. His cousin ended up in hospital after attending a

:05:13. > :05:15.drinks commotion at the Box nightclub last Thursday. The

:05:16. > :05:26.19-year-old did not want to appear on camera. It was ?6 for a bottle of

:05:27. > :05:31.wine and ?1 for a shot. I should not have been drinking that much. There

:05:32. > :05:36.was no need for it. I took responsibility for the amount I

:05:37. > :05:39.drank, it was stupid. He collapsed outside the club and ended up with

:05:40. > :05:43.hypothermia. His dad says it could have been worse if he had not been

:05:44. > :05:50.taken to hospital when he was. I went down to the hospital and I

:05:51. > :05:57.opened the door and he was there, ice-cold, two drips into him, one

:05:58. > :06:01.for blood and one for fluid. Hypothermia blanket over him,

:06:02. > :06:07.unconscious. I could not get any sense out of him. I thought I had

:06:08. > :06:23.lost him. I thought, here we go again. I don't know what was going

:06:24. > :06:29.through my mind. It is down to cheap drink. Drinks promotions are regular

:06:30. > :06:33.here and the student says he was thrown out by the bouncers for being

:06:34. > :06:38.too drunk but management said they called the ambulance when he was

:06:39. > :06:44.found unconscious. On Thursday night, Friday morning, at last week,

:06:45. > :06:49.but the ones who reported the incident to the ambulance so I think

:06:50. > :06:54.it has been taken out of context incense of the timeline. I am happy

:06:55. > :07:00.that our staff had a Judy of care that night. The Odyssey has had its

:07:01. > :07:05.fair share of publicity surrounding events at the complex and allows

:07:06. > :07:08.couple of weeks. Those that run the Box nightclub said they are happy

:07:09. > :07:13.they have all the adequate safety measures in place.

:07:14. > :07:18.More than 200 jobs are being lost in Dungiven following the collapse of

:07:19. > :07:21.its largest employer. KPL which carried out work for utility firms

:07:22. > :07:28.like BT, NIE and NI Water was placed in administration on Friday. Over

:07:29. > :07:32.the weekend, the administrators said the efforts to save the business had

:07:33. > :07:39.been unsuccessful. There have been calls for politicians to help the

:07:40. > :07:45.town. The time for tea and sympathy has

:07:46. > :07:49.passed, we need action. Places like this have struggled with maybe one

:07:50. > :07:56.factory going and then another. We are being told, we are doing all we

:07:57. > :07:59.can. Nothing ever happens. We see announcement after a announcement in

:08:00. > :08:03.Belfast and it seems there is not a level playing field.

:08:04. > :08:06.You can find out what MLAs had to say today on the KPL losses on

:08:07. > :08:09.Stormont Today over on BBC Two at 11:20.

:08:10. > :08:17.Football and in the premiership tonight: Linfield beat Glenavon 2-1

:08:18. > :08:21.tonight. In the Setanta Cup tonight there were a few bruising encounters

:08:22. > :08:24.for the four local teams in action. Crusaders went down 4-1 against

:08:25. > :08:28.Sligo Rovers. Coleraine managed the only win with a 3-2 victory over

:08:29. > :08:39.Dundalk. The weather is next.

:08:40. > :08:47.The low pressure has moved in and there is a lot of rain over eastern

:08:48. > :08:56.counties. Temperatures fall to four or five degrees. There may be the

:08:57. > :09:00.odd patch of frost. Tomorrow, many of us getting a dry and bright

:09:01. > :09:03.start. The low pressure will stay in control so there will be some

:09:04. > :09:06.showers coming in from the West but it will not be raining all day. In

:09:07. > :09:15.between the showers, there will be some sunshine and sunny spells. The

:09:16. > :09:18.showers will extend right across Ireland but for Britain it will be a

:09:19. > :09:22.largely dry and bright start of the day with some good spells of

:09:23. > :09:27.sunshine. Eventually the wet weather will push across affecting Scotland

:09:28. > :09:35.and Wales and the south-west before gradually nudging its way eastwards.

:09:36. > :09:39.For Northern Ireland, if you are out and about, it will be quite windy

:09:40. > :09:44.and the showers will continue to come across with those winds.

:09:45. > :09:48.Temperatures, cooler than today. More normal for the time of year.

:09:49. > :09:55.The showers will continue overnight into Wednesday. It will improve

:09:56. > :09:59.during the day, eventually brightening up with some good spells

:10:00. > :10:02.of sunshine. Those will be short lived however because on Wednesday

:10:03. > :10:07.night, more rain and on Thursday and Friday, sunny spells and scattered

:10:08. > :10:10.showers. That's it for now.
