:00:07. > :00:11.Hello there, and welcome to the programme.

:00:12. > :00:14.A 60-year-old man has died after falling from a cliff near

:00:15. > :00:18.Ballycastle in north Antrim. The victim, who's understood to be a

:00:19. > :00:21.visitor to the area, fell into the sea off Kenbane Head shortly after

:00:22. > :00:24.11am this morning. He was rescued by the Red Bay lifeboat and airlifted

:00:25. > :00:30.to Coleraine Hospital, but died later.

:00:31. > :00:33.A severely disabled woman and three other people have escaped injury

:00:34. > :00:38.after two pipe bomb attacks in Ballymoney overnight. The woman was

:00:39. > :00:48.left badly shaken. Our reporter Rick Faragher has been to the scene.

:00:49. > :00:52.The 59-year-old woman is severely disabled and was asleep in a

:00:53. > :00:55.downstairs bedroom at the house here when the device went off. It

:00:56. > :00:59.shattered the front window and left her covered in glass. She suffers

:01:00. > :01:04.from Down's syndrome and requires full-time care from her 63-year-old

:01:05. > :01:07.sister who was also in the house. Neither she nor her 28-year-old son

:01:08. > :01:11.went to appear on camera but said they were left terrified and badly

:01:12. > :01:15.shaken by the attack. A short time later, another pipe bomb exploded at

:01:16. > :01:20.a nearby property causing damage to the house and a parked car. A man

:01:21. > :01:25.who was in the house was not hurt. Residents were evacuated while bomb

:01:26. > :01:30.disposal experts examined the scene. On a day when Antrim has been

:01:31. > :01:35.occupied by some of the greatest cyclist, the Giro d'Italia was not

:01:36. > :01:41.affected by the security operations. Police said they are investigating a

:01:42. > :01:46.link between the two incident and urged anyone with in the nation to

:01:47. > :01:49.come forward. -- anyone with information.

:01:50. > :01:52.Thousands of people have turned out for day two of the Giro d'Italia, a

:01:53. > :01:56.135-mile cycle from Belfast to the Causeway Coast and back. It finished

:01:57. > :01:59.at the City Hall late this afternoon. BBC Newsline's Mark

:02:00. > :02:04.Simpson has been following the peloton

:02:05. > :02:11.Simpson has been following the If you cannot beat them, join them.

:02:12. > :02:17.On the beach, the horses tried to catch the bikes. The riders could

:02:18. > :02:24.hardly believe their eyes. But there was only going to be one winner. Day

:02:25. > :02:30.two of the Giro d'Italia had a bit of everything. For the riders, a

:02:31. > :02:37.test of endurance, more than 130 miles, most of it in awful

:02:38. > :02:40.conditions. The chance to show the world the Causeway Coast line at its

:02:41. > :02:45.best was lost, but the bad weather did not seem to faze the riders or

:02:46. > :02:52.spectators. It is Northern Ireland weather, isn't it! What can you

:02:53. > :02:54.expect? Thank God for the ponchos. Everybody is very

:02:55. > :02:59.expect? Thank God for the ponchos. think it has spoiled it at all. You

:03:00. > :03:06.have been waiting more than four hours? I will not be able to stand

:03:07. > :03:10.up! I am cold and wet but I would not miss it for the world. It was

:03:11. > :03:14.very wet. It has rained not miss it for the world. It was

:03:15. > :03:19.Bushmills all morning but it stopped just in time for the riders coming

:03:20. > :03:21.through. Nonetheless, as you can see, the roads are still very

:03:22. > :03:27.through. Nonetheless, as you can so the riders are being told to slow

:03:28. > :03:32.down. The leading group took no chances. They saw the warning signs

:03:33. > :03:48.and took it easy. It gave them more time to see the village and hear it.

:03:49. > :03:55.The pink is fantastic! Why is your husband wearing a pink wig? If he

:03:56. > :04:04.takes it off, you will see why. Are you ready? Not a lot there! In

:04:05. > :04:07.Carrickfergus a bright almost missed her wedding because of the Giro

:04:08. > :04:15.d'Italia but the police escort saved the day. It made it like a royal

:04:16. > :04:20.event or something like that! The main event was won by a German rider

:04:21. > :04:25.event or something like that! The in a sprint finish. He comes to

:04:26. > :04:28.event or something like that! The fore, the big man! Non-bigger at the

:04:29. > :04:35.moment and he proves that! What a sprint that was. They all delivered.

:04:36. > :04:41.We love this race, so do the Irish Bostock thank you, thank you Marcel.

:04:42. > :04:46.Tomorrow, they have to do it all again at this time from Armagh to

:04:47. > :04:49.Dublin. Amazing. You saw a lot of wet

:04:50. > :04:52.weather there, let's see what the forecast is like for the cyclists

:04:53. > :05:00.tomorrow. It has been a mixed bag of weather

:05:01. > :05:03.forced Day two of the Giro d'Italia, some heavy showers as

:05:04. > :05:09.well. We will find those start to ease away a tad as we go through the

:05:10. > :05:11.course of the evening. But with a north-westerly breeze throughout the

:05:12. > :05:16.night, it will bring further showers, but not quite as happy as

:05:17. > :05:24.they have been today and probably moving a little bit more quickly.

:05:25. > :05:27.Into tomorrow, again looking at bright spells and scattered

:05:28. > :05:32.showers, probably not too many of them during the morning, just a few

:05:33. > :05:38.trickling through. As they start stage three of the Giro d'Italia,

:05:39. > :05:41.they are likely to encounter a few showers on which to Dublin, but by

:05:42. > :05:45.the time they get to Dublin the showers starting to ease away again.

:05:46. > :05:57.A mixture of bright spells and showers for the Republic of

:05:58. > :06:01.Ireland, Wales, across to England. With light winds, some of the

:06:02. > :06:04.showers could be prolonged and slow-moving, also mixed with hail

:06:05. > :06:08.and thunder, but a way from the showers some drier spells, too. For

:06:09. > :06:12.Northern Ireland, sunshine and showers for the afternoon, maybe the

:06:13. > :06:14.odd heavy one but not as many as today and generally speaking they

:06:15. > :06:18.will be lighter and should start to ease away later in the day. Feeling

:06:19. > :06:28.a little bit fresh on the north coast, but the odd short breeze,

:06:29. > :06:33.Wednesday looks like bringing a band of more persistent rain.

:06:34. > :06:37.That's it for now. BBC Newsline will be back tomorrow evening at 6.50pm.

:06:38. > :06:38.Thanks for watching, good night.
