:00:00. > :00:07.the evening on the BBC News Channel. We are back

:00:08. > :00:11.Good evening. The parents of five-year-old Oscar

:00:12. > :00:15.Knox have paid tribute to their son at his funeral today in Glengormley.

:00:16. > :00:18.Wee Oscar, as he was known, whose high profile fight against cancer

:00:19. > :00:21.captured many Hearts, died on Thursday. More than 1,000 people

:00:22. > :00:34.attended the funeral service at St Bernards Church. Rick Faragher

:00:35. > :00:42.reports. He was the boy who captured the love

:00:43. > :00:48.of everybody. This was a celebration of his life, with colourful jerseys

:00:49. > :00:54.and sports tops the order of the day. There were sports stars,

:00:55. > :00:59.politicians and family members. A keen Celtic fan, the club gave him

:01:00. > :01:03.his own tribute ahead of the game against Dundee United. Inside the

:01:04. > :01:12.church, his father described what he called his special little man. He

:01:13. > :01:19.was kind, calm, sensitive, loving. He was mischievous and unbelievably

:01:20. > :01:23.funny. There were tears in the crowd when his mother recalled a recent

:01:24. > :01:27.conversation with her son. His favourite movie was Peter Pan. We

:01:28. > :01:32.talked a few weeks ago about a journey going to Neverland. We

:01:33. > :01:40.explained that in Neverland there are no sore knees on -- or sore

:01:41. > :01:48.heads. He had a big smile on his face and he said, this is the best

:01:49. > :01:53.day of my life. He was charming, funny, he lit up the class. I know

:01:54. > :01:59.the rest of the children were really touched by the time he spent with

:02:00. > :02:03.them. As the crowd left, there were scenes of togetherness and

:02:04. > :02:08.solidarity. People, many of whom had never met, united by the strength of

:02:09. > :02:13.a young boy whose strength they will never forget.

:02:14. > :02:16.A 23-year-old man has been treated in hospital after suffering serious

:02:17. > :02:19.head injuries in an assault in east Belfast. It happened on the

:02:20. > :02:27.Newtownards Road shortly after one o'clock this morning. A 22-year-old

:02:28. > :02:30.man has been arrested. The third stage of the Giro D'Italia

:02:31. > :02:33.between Armagh and Dublin has been won by the German Marcel Kittell,

:02:34. > :02:37.who won yesterday's stage two. The Giro will now resume in Italy on

:02:38. > :02:40.Tuesday. A huge crowd turned out in Armagh this morning to see the

:02:41. > :02:51.riders off. BBC Newsline's Mark Simpson reports.

:02:52. > :02:58.There was no sign of Giro fatigue from the riders all the spectators.

:02:59. > :03:04.They rode more than 100 miles yesterday and more than 100 miles

:03:05. > :03:08.again today. As they swept through the South Armagh countryside, the

:03:09. > :03:12.weather was on the whole kind. In fact, when they went through this

:03:13. > :03:17.village, not only was the son out but there were 2000 people lining

:03:18. > :03:26.the streets in the normally quiet village. It's all about the pink! We

:03:27. > :03:31.love to promote our country and we want to show the world how wonderful

:03:32. > :03:34.it is. It is just the spirit of the people of Northern Ireland getting

:03:35. > :03:39.behind anything and wanting to be part of it and show how wonderful

:03:40. > :03:45.the place is. Church services are normally held here at 11 o'clock on

:03:46. > :03:51.a Sunday, but not today. Did parishioners mind being disrupted by

:03:52. > :03:58.the Giro? Lets take the opportunity we have here and make the best of

:03:59. > :04:04.it. Let's just be here and serve people, that is what the church is

:04:05. > :04:08.about. And they all managed to get a look at the Giro, albeit a quick

:04:09. > :04:15.one. There they go on their way towards the border, on to Dublin.

:04:16. > :04:20.After three days here in Northern Ireland, the people are really going

:04:21. > :04:24.to miss them. I don't know what I am going to do tomorrow morning. I have

:04:25. > :04:34.to go to work. What are you going to wear? I wear pink everyday anyways!

:04:35. > :04:43.Show me your hair. Is that natural? It is. It is. It's lovely to see a

:04:44. > :04:47.man in pink. As for the race for the pink jersey, the action all came at

:04:48. > :04:55.the end with a sprint finish in Dublin. Here comes Marcel Kittel! He

:04:56. > :05:02.takes it on the line! A bolt of lightning. What a guy. He nailed

:05:03. > :05:06.that in the most difficult circumstances and just look what it

:05:07. > :05:13.is taken out of him. Marcel Kittel we salute you. He won yesterday and

:05:14. > :05:19.he won again today on what is his 26th birthday. The Giro now heads

:05:20. > :05:32.home back to Italy, but the memories here will linger for a very long

:05:33. > :05:35.time. ?NEWLINE there was no sign of Giro fatigue from the riders all the

:05:36. > :05:38.spectators. They rode more than 100 miles yesterday and more than 100

:05:39. > :05:41.miles again today. As they swept through the South Armagh

:05:42. > :05:45.countryside, the weather was on the whole kind. In fact, when they went

:05:46. > :05:48.through this village, not only was the son out but there were 2000

:05:49. > :05:51.people lining the streets in the normally quiet village.

:05:52. > :05:54.To a different type of bike now and Northern Ireland's Jonathan Rea has

:05:55. > :05:57.moved to the top of the World Superbike championship after double

:05:58. > :06:04.success at Imola in Italy today. The Pata

:06:05. > :06:11.as time goes on, it will become dry as pressure starts to build, and by

:06:12. > :06:17.the end of the week it will be a bit warmer as well. Tonight, the showers

:06:18. > :06:22.fade so it is a dry end to the day with some wet spells. There may be

:06:23. > :06:25.one or two showers in the West but generally speaking there will be

:06:26. > :06:31.clear intervals, temperatures settling between five and seven

:06:32. > :06:34.degrees. Tomorrow, again, bright spells and showers. Through the

:06:35. > :06:39.morning there would be too many of those showers inland but they will

:06:40. > :06:43.develop as the day wears on. Across the Republic of Ireland it is also

:06:44. > :06:48.sunny spells with bands of rain moving in. Some of those could be

:06:49. > :06:52.heavy, and across Britain as well, sunshine and showers. The best of

:06:53. > :06:58.the sunshine is in Wales and the South. But in the East of England

:06:59. > :07:02.Show Scotland, plenty of showers, some of which could be heavy and

:07:03. > :07:08.thundery. But Northern Ireland, more showers will develop inland. There

:07:09. > :07:13.is potential for some heavy Shari bursts of rain and maybe the odd

:07:14. > :07:17.rumble of thunder. Temperatures around 13 degrees. Once we get

:07:18. > :07:22.beyond tomorrow, apart from the risk of some patchy rain, it does look

:07:23. > :07:25.mainly dry. A fair amount of cloud but there will be some bright

:07:26. > :07:30.spells, and temperatures are rising.
