:00:19. > :00:21.manslaughter and attempted murder dropped. Kevin McDaid who was a

:00:22. > :00:30.catholic died after he was attacked outside his home. Kevin Sharkey was

:00:31. > :00:33.in the court. There have been tensions about flags in the days

:01:05. > :01:09.dropped against seven of the three years after they pleaded guilty to

:01:10. > :01:12.less serious charges. This week, though manslaughter and attempted

:01:13. > :01:22.murder were dropped against three other defendants. All ten are on

:01:23. > :01:27.bail. Two men were due to go on trial but walked free as all charges

:01:28. > :01:31.against them were dropped. The prosecution told the court that

:01:32. > :01:34.having reviewed the evidence against the two men they

:01:35. > :01:43.having reviewed the evidence against no evidence against the man. When

:01:44. > :01:54.addressing them, he said, "you may leave the dog." . He asked the

:01:55. > :01:59.victim's wife if they wanted to make victim statements? They are aware of

:02:00. > :02:04.the obstacles being encountered and he said they may not understand why

:02:05. > :02:13.this is happening. The prosecution said they would be speaking to the

:02:14. > :02:25.family. Kevin McDaid's family will appear in court next month. A man in

:02:26. > :02:28.his 30s has been stabbed in the stomach in south Belfast. Police say

:02:29. > :02:32.he was involved in a row with another man somewhere in the area of

:02:33. > :02:36.Donegall Road, Donegall Avenue and Tates Avenue. Two people were taken

:02:37. > :02:40.to hospital after a heifer bolted while it was being exhibited at the

:02:41. > :02:43.Balmoral Show. It struck one of its handlers and a member of the public

:02:44. > :02:47.yesterday afternoon. The extent of their injuries isn't known. In a

:02:48. > :02:51.statement the RUAS which runs the Show said best practice was being

:02:52. > :02:53.employed at the time and a review of the incident has begun.

:02:54. > :02:57.Three Londonderry men have been sentenced to a total of 30 years in

:02:58. > :03:00.prison for having a mortar. It was discovered by police when their car

:03:01. > :03:06.was stopped in the Creggan area of the city almost two years ago. Julie

:03:07. > :03:16.McCullough reports. The court heard the device found in the car the men

:03:17. > :03:20.were travelling in wasn't -- was an explosive projectile, capable of

:03:42. > :03:49.terrorism which was a walkie-talkie radio. When they were stopped, they

:03:50. > :03:56.were wearing dark clothing and two of them had a pair of gloves over

:03:57. > :04:02.latex gloves. The bomb was found in a foot well along with a detonator.

:04:03. > :04:07.Each of the men were sentenced to ten years in prison, five of which

:04:08. > :04:11.will be spent in custody, the rest on supervised license.

:04:12. > :04:15.An elderly woman needed hospital treatment after being pushed over by

:04:16. > :04:17.two men who stole her handbag. The incident happened yesterday

:04:18. > :04:21.afternoon in Edgecumbe Gardens in East Belfast. The woman who's in her

:04:22. > :04:27.80s has a suspected broken elbow and pelvis. One of the men is described

:04:28. > :04:30.as being in his early 40s with dark hair and the police are appealing

:04:31. > :04:33.for witnesses. A nine-year-old boy who lives here

:04:34. > :04:38.with his mother should be returned to Lithuania where he was born, the

:04:39. > :04:41.Supreme Court in London has ruled. The child lived there with his

:04:42. > :04:45.grandparents for seven years while his mother worked here. The court

:04:46. > :04:48.has ruled his removal from Lithuania was unlawful and that he should be

:04:49. > :04:53.returned to his grandparents immediately.
